A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Employment has grown to in excess of 100,000 and shipments to over $30 billion annually. This
growth has seen the emergence of an industry with high volumes and strengths in a number of
specific sub sectors. The Canadian OE parts sector faces serious challenges in the coming decade.
Overall the sector is likely to see a declining market share within the North American market. The
most serious challenges will be seen by suppliers of GM, Ford and DaimlerChrysler who are
producing lowvalue added components and are vulnerable to competition from low cost countries.
There will be some positive sub–sectors within the Canadian OE parts sector. These will include:
Suppliers to New North American Manufacturers: Eastern Ontario should target suppliers to the
expanding Honda Alliston and Toyota Cambridge/Woodstock locations. In targeting these groups
the region will face the issue as being perceived on the "wrong side" of Toronto – but this is not seen
as an insurmountable barrier. Suppliers in growth product areas: There are a number of growth
product areas in the Canadian automotive parts industry and notably lightweight metals. Quebec
with its significant resources is this area is aggressively targetting this group. There may also be
opportunities for Eastern Ontario in this area although they would seem to be limited. Suppliers

9. The Ku Klux Klan And The Civil Rights Movement
Founded in 1866, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) extended into almost every southern state by 1870 and
became a vehicle for white southern resistance to the Republican party's reconstruction–era polices
aimed at establishing political and economic equality for blacks. Its members waged an unseen war
of intimidation and violence directed at white and black republican leaders. Through congress
passed legislation designed to stop and contain Klan terrorism, the organization saw its primary goal
fulfilled through democratic victories in state legislatures across the south in the 1870s. After a
period of decline, white protestant nativist group's revived the Klan in the early 20th century,

Shortly after the formation of the KKK, Nathan Bedford Forrest, a former slave trader and
confederate general, assumed control of the organization and turned it into a militaristic, hierarchical
entity. In 1868, Forrest formally disbanded the group after he became appalled by its growing
violence. Despite his disbandment the KKK continued to grow, and its atrocities worsened. Drawing
the core of its membership from ex–confederate soldiers, the KKK may have numbered several
hundred thousand at its height during reconstruction.
In1871, the federal government took several steps to counter the KKK and its violence. Congress
organized a joint select committee made up of seven senators and 14 representatives of the house to
look into the Klan and its activities. It then passed the civil rights act of 1871, frequently referred to
as the Ku Klux Klan act, which made night riding a crime and empowered the president to order the
use of federal troops to put down conspirators by force. The law also provided criminal and civil
penalties for people convicted of privet conspiracies (such as those perpetrated by the KKK)
intended to deny others their civil rights. Some distinguished members of congress and the Supreme
Court were also involved in the KKK. Hugo L. Black was a prominent member of the U.S. Supreme
Court and a former senator was a suspected KKK member. Black was a member of the Ku

17. Analysis Of The Book ' The Sergeant '
The sergeant looked around the room quickly finding two clean towels that were lying on the floor
after the cart that had held them been toppled over sometime earlier. He stuffed one directly into
Miller's wound itself, and it instantly started turning crimson. He then wrapped the other around
Miller's neck holding the first towel tight to the wound. He than took off his belt using it as a
tourniquet that helped to keep the towels tight around Miller's throat. It was the only thing he could
think of that would help keep the blood loss at a minimum even though having the belt tight around
Miller's neck was now causing him to have much harder time breathing. "Alright, let's get Miller the
fuck out of here." The sergeant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

demanded of her. "Not now, Jamieson" Sergeant Barnes said. "Dr. Ackerman, do you know how
many of these things there are?" The sergeant than asked her. "Well..." she said but then began

the cadavers just... two of them... they just started moving." "You can tell us all about what

25. I Have A Dream Speech Thesis
I Still Have a Dream The 1960's was an era of refining the American dream and learning to advocate
for a change. The Civil Rights Movement marked a turning point for African American citizens in
the United States. The movement gave a voice to those that used to be silent and repressed by racism
and segregation. Martin Luther King Jr. acted as a catalyst for change influencing many to join a
nonviolent stance against injustice. The historic "I have a dream speech" motivated people to stand
up peacefully. Comparing the I have a Dream speech to todays society demonstrates that a message

were alive today would he believe the dream of equality for all was accomplished? Are all citizens
today treated with equal respect, dignity, and justice? These are important questions that contribute
to the controversy in society today. Under the Declaration of Independence all citizens are created
equal but it is unfortunate that not everyone is treated equal. In the twenty–first century
discrimination still exists which would anger those who advocated for civil rights. In 1963 when
Martin Luther King delivered his "I have a Dream Speech" his message was directed at the
discrimination against African American citizens however we can take his speech and apply it the
discrimination today. Today some examples include religious and sexual orientation discrimination.
After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks Muslims have experienced discrimination, prejudice,
and bias which would frustrate Martin Luther King. Many Americans assume that all muslims are
affiliated with the radical muslims that committed these acts of terrorism. This is a false statement
because it classifies all muslims into the same identity when in reality only a small population of the
muslims are radical. The media continues to televise all the horrific acts of terrorism influencing the
viewpoints of citizens. Similarly, during the Civil Rights Movement the media portrayed African
Americans in a negative way causing people to continue to hold bias beliefs. In addition, today

I have chosen to analyse the 2013 financial report of Thales, to illustrate how non–current assets
have been applied in a company. Thales Group is a French multinational company. Thales designs
and builds electrical systems and provides services for the aerospace, transportation, defense and
security markets. The company changed its name from Thomson–CSF to Thales back in December
2000 not long after the £1.3 billion acquisition of Racal Electronics plc. 60% of Thales' total sales
are military sales, which makes Thales the 11th largest defense contractor globally.

looking at Thales' accounting records, identifying their intangible assets, including property, plant,

Core competencies
Core competencies are the capabilities that are critical to a business achieving competitive
advantage. The starting point for analysing core competencies is recognising that competition
between businesses is as much a race for competence mastery as it is for market position and market
power. (Prahalad and Hamel)
34. There are three analysis, which should be applied when identifying and developing core competence
of Vodafone:

Many authors write fictional novels about historical events. A common topic written about is the
racial integration between African Americans and whites during the 1950's. Although the short story
"Recitatif" explicate many different themes, the central topic of Morrison's writing is about racism.
Throughout the story, the author expresses examples of hatred between black and white races at the

between Twyla and Roberta.

When the mothers of Twyla and Roberta visit on Easter Sunday, the two friends are happy for them
to meet each other. As they are introduced to each other, Twyla's mother stuck her hand out to shake
hands, Roberta's mother looked at her, grabbed Roberta and walked away. Roberta's mother
presented a snobbish attitude, and the generation of prejudice still existed.
Throughout the short story, Twyla and Roberta have multiple encounters after they are old enough to
leave the shelter. In the first scene, Twyla is a cashier at a restaurant as Roberta visits with a few
friends. As Twyla approaches Roberta, she attempts to have a conversation to catchup with each
other. Roberta presents herself as snobby as her mother was, and laughs at her when mentioning a
famous singer Twyla does not know. As years pass by, they run into one another in line at a grocery
store. This time, Roberta greets Twyla to engage the conversation. As they talk, the event of Roberta
acting snobby at the restaurant is brought up by Twyla. Roberta's response was "you know how it
was in those days: black–white". As Roberta seems much friendlier, "those days" appear to be over,
as they exchange phone numbers before departing.
Another event displaying racism was when Roberta was spotted at a high school. Her and other
mothers were outside "picketing" about their children attending a racial integrating school. Twyla

It is in the best interest of coaches and student athletes to become more aware of how race is viewed

people without even thinking." This can be proved by Harper Lee's prominent examples of prejudice
throughout the book. Here is one example of racal prejudice, and two examples of social prejudice.
First of all, an example of racial prejudice in the book To Kill a Mockingbird, is the Tom Robinson
trial. This trial created simple hell for Tom Robinson leading up to his death when he tried to escape
jail. You could consider this event racial prejudice, since Tom had ... Show more content on

if this was said about anyone they would be very hurt. Jem, Dill, and Scout proceed to sneak around
the Radley's house and make attempts to look in and touch the house. They even play "the Boo
Radley Game." Where they proceed to act like the Radley family, and enact the various rumours of
the family as well as their house.
This creates simple hell to Boo Radley. The rumours and games played must hurt his feelings. Plus
the constant annoyance from Jem, Dill, and Scout. When they try to touch and see in the Radley's
house. After all, the man just wants to be left alone.
So in conclusion, the description of prejudice in the book To Kill a Mockingbird, is easily proven
throughout the book. With the racal prejudice and discrimination in Tom Robinsons trial, the
prejudice Bob Ewell had towards anyone who was against him in the trial, and the prejudice of Boo
Radley. The blood thirsty monster everyone thought to be insane, but in reality one of the quietest,

62. Brayzack Narrative
Jarvis quickly backed away from the computer, giving Brayzack access. He then shared a look with
Sergeant Barnes. Both men had a pretty good idea of what the commander wanted with the
database. Staring at the blinking cursor in the search box, Commander Brayzack with shaky hands
began typing in the name, Laura Elizabeth Brayzack. He then closed his eyes, whispered a silent
prayer to God, and hit the enter button. Nothing came up, and every cell immediately under the
name Brayzack showed a different surname. He knew right away that by his last name not coming
up, it was most likely that nobody in his family had been found, recovered, or at least identified yet.
But he repeated the process again anyway, this time with his son, Randy James Brayzack, and again,
nothing. He did the same using the name of his other son, Kyle Martin Brayzack, still no result.
Finally, he tried with the name of his little girl, Sarah Marie Brayzack, and he thanked God when
she didn't come up. He then bent down putting his head in his hands, his eyes having become
imbued with moisture followed by tears of relief working their way out from the corners. The
commander moved to blot them away before the sergeant and private could see them, but the Racal
had him trapped inside a bubble and unable to touch his face. Shaking off his emotion, he quickly
stood up hoping to compose himself. "Is everything alright, sir?" ... Show more content on

66. Vodafone: Out of Many, One
VODAFONE: OUT OF MANY, ONE The impact of globalization on the telecommunication
industry and in Vodafone Traditionally, the telecommunication industry was controlled by state–
owned, national telecommunication companies usually offer fixed line connections, mobile
communication services and internet connections. Nevertheless, the thing has changed. The
provision of communication service is now globalizing and technological innovation is breaking
down traditional market boundaries as well as structures. Globalization has opened up markets and
brought more competition to the telecommunication industry to make it more competitive.
Furthermore, the global competition has increased performance standards in many dimensions, for

Although Vodafone has not developed their own technology which means that it does not create so
much technological innovation by itself, instead of that, it bought new innovative technologies from
other companies such as Nokia, Nortel, etc. and used it to serve its customers. Hence, in general, it
can be said that Vodafone always brings innovations in technology to its customers to delight their
satisfactions. Not only innovation but also the standardization of technology should be mentioned
here since the standardization of technology and software has been a significant impact on the
telecommunication industry accelerated by globalization. It impacts on the products and services
offered to consumers as well as how telecommunication companies organize themselves. And
Vodafone is not out of that. Within Vodafone, technology is standardized and used as well as
integrated in a reasonable approach across the whole company. Network design (switching, radio)
are harmonized as well. Moreover, the basis of technology and its application, called knowledge
(information, intelligence, and expertise) is pooled and shared among almost department in the

70. Difference Between Omi And Winant Racial Formation
Michael Omi and Howard Winant's arguments from "Racal Formation" are about how race is
socially constructed in society; therefore, the meaning of race varies within different cultures, and
societies. Media, school, politics, history, family, and economy creates the society's structure of the
race. To further dive into the racial formation, it's important to know what "race" is. The racial
formation theory is used to look at race as a socially constructed identity, where the content and
importance of racial categories are determined by social, economic, and political forces. It is the
framework that has the aim of deconstructing race as it exists today in the U.S. They first discuss the
historical development of race as a dynamic and fluid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

78. What 's A Name? By Henry Louis Gates
At birth everyone is given a name by their parents. Your name is part of your identity and how you
are addressed and recognized by the world. The different verities among the population created
other names given to different races. These names are offensive, demeaning and are only used to
refer to a person in a disrespectful manner. They can also cause a segregation among a nations
people, these names are forced upon people weather they are rich or poor, old or young, male or
female and are used to describe the same race of people. In the class reading "What 's in a Name?
"by Henry Louis Gates he reminisces about a personal experience of his that he had with his father.
In the story he describes his father was a hard worker and, because of this he was in high financial
standings and, he was well respected and given privileges that at the time was rare for people of his
race but he was still black and his name, his individual identity was not important instead he was
given a racial identity, this is the only thing he was known as, this type of negative recognition is
something many black Americans can relate to. One's race is a predominant part of our identity and
is what causes discrimination.
Racal separation has been a major problem in society for generations, in his story Gates writes "all
of the white people in Piedmont, West Virginia, treated my parents with an odd mixture of
resentment and respect that even we understood at the time had something directly to do with a

Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle" is a gritty peer into the hopelessly empty heart of capitalism and the
true dark nature of the consumer life style. The gruesome food facts and quality issues may have
gotten most of the public's attention but the stories heart is in the exposed untold truths about life in
America and the plan evil nature of capitalism. Despite Mr. Sinclair's efforts most of capitalisms
short falls still exist and are more detrimental to the survival of the world and humane race then at
any other time in its short blood thirsty history.
Mr. Sinclair is clearly presenting the social issues he observed in the capitalist society of his time.
The world was sold on an idea that if a man worked hard and long he could build a better life in the
land opportunity. America was rumored to be a place with no barriers between a man and prosperity,
no racial divides, a place where all men are equal and dreams can come true. The only problem was
in order to dream one must be asleep to the reality of the waking world. This was the dream like
state that Jurgis and his family where rudely awaken from as they learned the hard way what life in
America was really like.
In fact many of the issues faced by our antagonist were unavoidable. The lack of familiarity with the
local laws and proceedings stem from their overall lack of education and the great American
capitalist society loved to take advantage of this as evident in the spotty condition of the pagan

94. Camp 22
The novel The Boy in The Striped Pyjamas discusses some of the awful treatment of Jews during
the Holocaust. Unfortunately, there are still people being treated like this through out the world, in
such place such as North Korea, Afghanistan and Iraq. Many of us wonder whether or not we can
stop this racal prejudice and live in a world where there is peace, but sadly we can not. Camp 22 is
one of many concentration camps in North Korea, also know as Hoeryong camp. Camp 22 is one of
the worst prisons in the world. 15,000 to 200,00 people are in–prisoned every year, a lot of those
people have never committed a crime in their lives. People in North Korea get imprisoned for things
their grandparents or parents would have done, resulting with three generations in jail for up to 10
years or life sentences. The conditions in Camp 22 are hash and indescribable, and the death rate is
extremely high of about 1,500, up to 2000 prisoners die every single year in Camp 22. Prisoners die
from starvation, illnesses and poor work conditions, resulting in being shot or beaten to death.
Prisoners in Camp 22 are forced to perform agricultural, mining and factory labor until the day they
die or, until they are released. Those who decide not to abide by the extremely harsh rules are
punished by rape, starvation, torture, mutilation, and death, which also could extend to their entire
family within and out side the camp. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

98. Theme Of Justice In 12 Angry Men
The complexity of justice is evident in Reginald Rose's 'Twelve Angry Men', through the
employment of Truth throughout the American 1950's judicial system. Throughout the text, the
concept of justice is forged by the racal prejudices, personal bias, emotion, logistics, and reasoning
of the Jurors, thus allowing truth to hinder or prevail. Justice is shaped by truth in 'Twelve Angry
Men', as the Jurors begin to understand the reasonable doubt in the evidence against the defendant,
as the truth becomes prevalent through the Juror's deductive capabilities, thus allowing for injustice
to be hindered by the truth, which ultimately leads justice to prevail in the judicial system.
Throughout the text, negative racial prejudices hinder the success of justice, thus denying truth in
the judicial system. Due to the defendant being hispanic, and from the slums, negative racial
prejudices become prevalent in the juror's opinions, which ultimately leads to injustice, as the truth
is denied and ignored. The negative racial prejudices are depicted throughout the play multiple
times, especially by Juror 10, who is revealed to be an open racist who believes that the 16 year old
defendant should be sent to the electric chair due to his hispanic nationality. Within the play, Juror
10 states "They're violent, they're vicious, they're ignorant, and they will cut us up. That's their
intent" when referring to the hispanic 'race'. The direct dialogue conveyed within Juror 10's
statement allows the

Maus interprets the view point of Jewish survivors from the concentration camps Auschwitz during
world war II. Maus reconstructs concentration camp life – from the brutal labor conditions to the
infamous gas chambers, where it is estimated that almost a million prisoners died in Auschwitz
alone. This novel also records the emotional and mental effect of concentration camp life on each
individual. Rather than presenting either the guards as uniformly evil or the prisoners as uniformly
good, we get a full range of human behavior. The audience gets to read about the cowardice,
heroism , sadism ,but most importantly the lack of human value between different races. The
survivors constantly talked about how nobody saw them has humans, which gave the Nazis
justification for their crimes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

114. The Hot Zone Movie Analysis
The book "The Hot Zone" and the movie "Contagion" are both about pandemics, with one a possible
pandemic and the other global. They are different because of how the media reacts to the prospect of
a pandemic, as well as how they contain or treat the potential outbreak. Both works showed how
panic can impact and contribute to the spread of the virus. "The Hot Zone" and "Contagion" both
show the media's reaction to a potential pandemic. In the book, the media knew nothing about the
outbreak other than being mildly aware that something had happened at a monkey house in Reston,
Virginia. USAMRIID (the United States Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Diseases)
did everything in their power to ensure no one ascertained the truth, since they knew it would cause
panic. Scientists used back entrances to the monkey house to avoid being photographed in racal
suits. In the movie, the media knew about contaminated people, however, it was not reported as a
outbreak of a deadly virus. The media did not anticipate the virus's impact and the associated risks.
The pandemic increased, more people died, and the media realized they had underestimated the
virus. This resulted in every major media outlet being filled with news of the virus, increases in
