5. For my formal layout I
have made it look like an
average newspaper. I
have put the masthead
right at the top of the
page followed by the
headline and image
underneath as I think
that is the most
appropriate place for
them. I have 3 columns
for the body of text as I
think it should be more
split up than just having
2 quite large columns.
Underneath the writing
I have left space for an
advert banner.
6. To start my formal broadsheet
newspaper layout I have made a new
document and used the appropriate
measurements for the page.
7. To begin my broadsheet layout I placed the title at the top of the page and changed
the font to ‘Bell MT’. I also centred the title so that it fit in with the rest of the
layout.
8. Then I placed my image on the right hand side underneath the title leaving room
for the headline. I also left space for an advertisement along the bottom of the page.
9. I then used a slightly different font for the headline. I placed the headline next to
the image on the left hand side as I think it looked most appropriate in this
position.
10. I used the free space in between for my text. I split the text up into 3 margins and
spaced them out evenly. I then put in a drop capital to make the start of the article
stand out. I used the same font as the headline for the writing.
11. To finish my broadsheet front cover, I put in an advertisement at the bottom and a
pull quote in the middle of the text. I also changed the font of the headline to make
it stand out more. At the end I made the letters of the title closer together as I think
it looks better.
