This document provides instructions and examples for performing tacheometric surveying using a tacheometer. It defines different stadia hair methods, provides formulas for calculating horizontal and vertical distances from a tacheometer to a staff, and examples of using these formulas and methods to determine distances and slopes between points from tacheometer readings of inclined or vertical staffs. Find constants of tacheometer for given survey.

At Sardar Sarovar Dam one surveyor gone for survey. He wants to know Distance between
A and B point and slope between them. So, He set his techeometer at point O and taken
reading from vertical staff as following (find distance and slope between A and B) :
Staff Point Bearing (WCB) Vertical Angle Staff Reading.
A 90° 30° 1.5-2-2.5
B 180° 10° 0.6-1-1.2
13. Example – 3 Solve example-2 if all reading were taken with inclined staff.

2. 14. Example – 4 : One company wanted to set ropeway at Himalaya between point A & B.
Company want length of cable required between A&B and also the slope of ropeway cable.
So, surveyor done survey with techeometer from point – O and taken following readings
with inclined staff:
Staff Point Bearing (WCB) Vertical Angle Staff Reading.
A 75° -40° 1.5-3-4.5
B 150° -25° 1-2-3
15. Example – 5 : One Student having project to measure horizontal and vertical distance as
well as R.L. point of all stations with tangential method at Girnar mountain.
Also Draw 2D Line map of following points.
