Expectations Of Characters In Shakespeare s The Scarlet...
Doodle was just about the craziest brother a boy ever had. Page 1 paragraph 2 Doodle was an ordinary
boy with something special that not everybody had a heart condition. It prevented him from doing
most things an average boy could. Doodle and his brother would spend most of their time at Old
Woman Swamp or outdoors. They are always together in some way. The author of The Scarlet Ibis
uses foreshadowing, similes, and imagery to show that others expectations of one can impact
themselves and take a toll on their life. The first main character in the story is Doodle, also known as
William Armstrong. When he was born, no one had faith in him of surviving, except his Aunt Nicey.
He is born with a heart condition that interferes with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The major conflicts in the story are man vs. man, man vs. self, man vs. society. First, man vs. man
because Doodle has conflicts with not living up to what Brother wants. Although Brother develops a
bond with Doodle, his love and greed pushed Doodle to learn how to walk and doing more than what
Doodle can. Doodle has already gone too far by learning how to walk, while the doctor says to be
careful. On page 3, according to the doctor, the instructions are, ... he mustn t get too excited, too hot,
too cold, or too tired... must be treated gently. Disobeying these instructions can come with
consequences. The doctor then goes on saying some movements could strain his weak heart and
possibly kill him. Secondly, man vs. self. When Brother first proposed the idea of Doodle walking,
Page 4 Doodle responds with, I can t walk, Brother,...Mama, the doctor everybody, He doesn t have a
desire to learn how to walk because he s been influenced by everybody around him that he can t.
Lastly, man vs. society because society is what caused Brother to help Doodle. According to the
narrator, he was embarrassed, Page 4 paragraph 4, When Doodle was five years old, I was
embarrassed at having a brother ... couldn t walk, so I set out to teach him. These 3 conflicts help
guide the theme and moral of the story. The author uses similes to show, others expectations of one
can impact themselves. The narrator compares Doodle

What Is The Differences Between Prejudice And Prejudice
Prejudice : It consists of attitudes (usually negative) toward others based on their gender, religion,
race, or membership in a particular group.
Discrimination: It consists of behavior, usually negative, directed toward others based on their gender,
religion, race, or membership in a particular group.
Both are similar as these are negative factors of human nature. Moreover, these are shown towards
others based on their gender, religion, race. According to one of the oldest theories known as realistic
conflict theories prejudice and discrimination increases among the various social groups as they
compete for scarce economic resources such as good jobs, land, political power. Both cause
differences, and inequalities among the people, hence they divide the society.
Prejudice and Discrimination are different from each other as prejudice is a negative attitude shown
towards the others. However, discrimination is a negative behavior or action towards the others. Also,
prejudice involves only beliefs and emotions not actions. Furthermore, prejudice is internal as it is
shelled within the mind of the individual while, discrimination is external it can be seen by the others
through the actions.( Wood, et al, 2016, p. 329).

Sickle Cell Anemia Case Studies
Anemia: According to National Heart, Lung and Blood institute, anemia is the most common blood
disorder in the United States affecting over 3 million individuals (2015). It develops when the blood
lacks oxygen. It is a condition whereby ineffective DNA synthesis occurs as a lack of hemoglobin
nutrients. Clinical manifestations develops as a response in the body due to tissue hypoxia and are
manifested as dyspnea on exertion, fatigue as a result of the heavy workload of the organs in the
system not functioning properly; dyspepsia with nausea, shortness of breath, dizziness, pale skin, cold
hands or feet s, chest pain and headaches, depending on the severity of the disease and comorbidity.

Cardiomyopathy attacks when the damaged muscle is unable to pump blood as it should causing tissue
hypoxia. Kloner et al, explained that men between the ages of 35 and 50 are the most diagnosed group
of alcoholic cardiomyopathy when compared to other age groups (2015). When an individual has a
history of alcohol abuse, the damaged heart muscle cannot pump enough blood to circulate to the rest
to the rest of the body; the individual become very fatigue, thirsty, weak, dizziness with shortness of
breath. As the disease progresses, it leads to cardiac heart failure, a condition that affect the heart
chambers. Long term alcohol use has been associated with the cause of left ventricular dysfunction.
The left side heart failure causes fluid to back up into the lungs which suppresses an individual s lung
making it hard to breath. Excessive alcohol intake has been linked to many cardiac disease including
stroke, hypertension, and arrhythmias. Clinical manifestations exhibit dyspnea, chest pain, fatigue,
syncope, weakness and palpitations (Kloner et al., 2015).
Gastritis: defined as inflammation of the gastric mucosa due to excessive alcohol use (Rugge,
Pennelli, Pilozzi, Fassan, Ingravallo, Russo Mario, 2011). There are several causes of gastritis which
include helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), pernicious anemia, a form of anemia; bile reflux, history of
alcohol use, NSAIDS medications and infections (Rugge et al., 2011). Symptoms of gastritis include
epigastric pain, nausea, discomfort in the upper abdomen, bloating, dyspepsia, loss of appetite and etc.
This disease is usually diagnosed using a blood test, fecal occult blood test or an

Similarities and Dissimilarities in Transcription and...
Similarities and dissimilarities in transcription and replication Similarities. The similarities are the
following: Both processes use similar nucleotide building blocks They use the same chemical method
of attack on the same triphosphate group of an incoming nucleotide. The attack too is perpetrated by
the OH final group of the growing chain Both processes are perpetrated by the hydrolysis of the
pyrophosphate group that is released upon instigation of the attack. Differences between transcription
and replication The differences include the following: DNA replication copies the entire helix, whilst
DNA transcription copies only specific regions of one strand of the helix. During DNA transcription
only short region (about 60 base pairs) of the template DNA helix are unwound. More and more is
unwound as the RNS polymerase continues to transcribe. With replications, however, the parent helix
remains separated from DNA helix until the process of replication is complete. DNA replication and
transcription contain slight differences in their substrates. The DNA nucleotides are
deoxyribonucleotide triphosphates. The RNA ones are, however, different consisting of v, meaning
that they possess the OH group. In RNA, too, the thymine group contains the base uracil. The DNA
does not have this and both of these differences are manifested in DNA transcription. DNA replication
too only occurs at certain moments in a cell s life and is a thoroughly regulated process. DNA

Intersectionality And Intersecting Identities
Intersectionality is a concept that is utilized to better understand the dynamics of oppression and
privilege in regards to an individual s identity. Intersectionality is how different identities align and
cross (intersect) to create more identities and experiences. For example, a black woman who is
homosexual must deal with the prejudices and challenge that both of those identities present.
Recognizing and understanding intersectionality is vital for facilitating a beneficial intercultural
dialogue. A beneficial intercultural dialogue can garber a more advanced and open sense of empathy
and knowledge for intersecting identities that an individual may not have had before. This is due to
their position in relation to other individual s identities, positionality, which plays a significant role in
intersectionality. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is positionality in regards to intersectionality. Positionality is totally relational; we can observe
our positions in relation to ours and other intersecting identities. An individual s positionality
influences how they perceive and make sense of the world; a standpoint. Individuals who are lower on
the positional hierarchy usually have a better view on the variety of standpoints beyond their own, as
they need these understandings to survive. I, myself, have a variety of identities that intersect in many
different ways. I identify most strongly with my identities in respect to my age, race, class, and
gender. These four identities are the identities that have contributed the most into making me the
person I am today. These intersecting identities have been both advantageous and disadvantageous to
me in my life. Understanding how these four identities intersect, has helped recognize my
positionality and how my experiences are shaped by

How Does Borges Create A Labyrinth
Once again, the reader witness Borges infamous idea of the labyrinth portrayed through a unique
parallel with a game of chess, intertwined with historical essences, and also intertwined with the
metaphysical, bringing into question the notion of ontology.
Influenced by historical context, Borges story unravels a midst Nazi Germany with the Nazi
occupation of Prague on March 15, 1939. The Secret Miracle opens with the idea of a labyrinth almost
immediately. In relation to many of his other works and in pastiche to other works by authors like
Cervantes, a fictional world/idea transcends to the non fictional, real world, connecting fiction with
reality. The Secret Miracle deals with dream imagery and transitions into adjacent experiences, ...

Borges depicts dreams are mirrored to the source it originates from. Such theme is also evident in
Hamlet.
In The Circular Ruins, Borges audience tries to understand the origin of the dreamer. When the
dreamer finally notices the idea of the dream cycle, the reader then, realizes that the dreamer s
memory had been eliminated by his father as the dreamer had done for his son. In his work, Borges
conveys the notion that the perception of reality depends upon the mind, to shape reality rather than
external substance, reflecting the concept of mirrors. In The Man on the Thresholds the audience again
witness a story within . There is a parallel to both stories, while David Alexander is being put to death
we also encounter the removing of the tyrant. In Hamlet, Shakespeare places Hamlet in a series of
unfortunate events, similar to the idea of reoccurring events in Borges work. Borges concept of the
mirror relates to Hamlet in finding meaning in reality through the dream Hamlet has. Shakespeare
mirrors Hamlets actions in his dream, bringing Hamlet (and the audience) back to where his dream
begins, with his death. Borges concept of a mirror is extremely interesting in relation to magical
realism where characters are set to motion in a realistic fictional world (similar to the world of the
audience) but supernatural mirrored aspects arise thought the development of the

Description Of Social Anxiety Disorder ( Social Phobia )
Introduction
Social Anxiety Disorder (Social Phobia) is characterized by anxiety or fear of social situations in
which there is the possibility of embarrassing one s self under scrutiny by others (Robinson, 2010).
With the extreme symptoms affecting approximately 15 million American adults with a typical onset
age of 13 years old (ADAA, 2017). Those with Social Anxiety Disorder show greater delays in
seeking treatment, if at all, compared to those with other anxiety and mood disorders (Bruce,
Heimberg, Coles, 2012). As Social Anxiety Disorder is the third largest mental health problem in the
world, it is important that this disorder is addressed and not overlooked (Richards, 2017).
This essay will go into detail about Social Anxiety Disorder including the symptoms and factors that
onset the disorder, other anxiety disorders that can be associated with Social Anxiety Disorder, and
effective treatments.

Social Anxiety Disorder is a common and serious condition characterized by excessive and unrealistic
fear of being judged or evaluated negatively and often begins in adolesces (Bandelow Wedekind,
2014), with 36% of people reporting to have had symptoms for 10 years before seeking help (ADAA,
2017). Social situations are often avoided or feared, albeit these feelings are predominately out of
proportion to the actual threat posed by the social situation itself (American Psychiatric Association,
2013, p. 202). These

Movie Reflection In The Movie Drai Santoshi Maa
Movie Reflection
In the film Jai Santoshi Maa the goddess Santoshi Maa is depicted in many different forms. Santoshi
Maa is the goddess of happiness , she has many forms in which she provides hope for the people. She
wears an elegant sari using the gesture of blessing with her hand, and at when she takes her many
different forms she has a very calm demeanor which provides hope for her devotees. This idea of hope
is shown in the movie multiple times, Satyawati, who is a very faithful devotee of Santoshi Maa, falls
in love with Birju who comes from a farming family. The two are able to get married without any
problems but the during this time Parvati, Brahmani, and Lakshmi had noticed that Santoshi Maa had
been becoming more and more popular and they get jealous. As a result of this they decide that they
wanted to torture Sarasvati as she was a big fan of Santoshi Maa. We see this torment right on the day
of the wedding as Satyavati s sister in laws are horrible human beings who do everything in their
power to bring her down. They give similar treatment to Birju as well as they disrespect him, they
feed him left overs and call him useless. This idea of feeding a son of the family leftover as a sign of
disrespect is still prominent in India today, because of the idea that women are suppose to provide the
men of the family with fresh cooked food not leftovers. Eventually Birju gets fed up with all this and
leaves the house to prove his worth. When leaving the goddess send a

Essay On Cement Industry
Compiled by: Mirza Rohail B
http://economicpakistan.wordpress.com/2008/02/12/cement industry/
History Introduction
Growth of cement industry is rightly considered a barometer for economic activity. In 1947, Pakistan
had inherited 4 cement plants with a total capacity of 0.5 million tons. Some expansion took place in
1956 66 but could not keep pace with the economic development and the country had to resort to
imports of cement in 1976 77 and continued to do so till 1994 95. The industry was privatized in 1990
which led to setting up of new plants. Although an oligopoly market, there exists fierce competition
between members of the cartel today.

However, this growth is magnified, as FY2007 08 was an abnormally low profit period for the sector.
Moreover, the performance is skewed towards large players with export potential as profitable
companies in both years posted increase of just 109 percent, said analyst at JS Research Atif Zafar.
He said that cumulative profitability of companies in FY09 stood at Rs 6.2 billion or $78.2 million as
compared to Rs 386 million or $6.2 million depicting a massive growth of 1,492 percent. Companies
with profits in both the years posted 109 percent earnings improvement.
Though total dispatches were down 2 percent, net sales grew by 55 percent to Rs 101.4 billion or $1.3
billion on the back of higher net retention prices (up 59 percent) and improved export based revenues.
Cost of sales/tonne also rose by 33 percent on yearly basis amid higher realised coal prices and
inflationary pressures, the analyst maintained.
Production Capacity
In Pakistan, there are 29 cement manufacturers that are playing a vital role in the building up the
country s economy and contribution towards growth and prosperity. After 2002 3, most of the cement
manufacturers expanded their operations, and increased production. This sector has invested about
$1.5 billion in capacity expansion over the last six years.
The operating capacity of cement in 1991 was 7 million tons, which increased to become 18 million
tons by 2005 06 and by end of 2007 rose to above 37 million

Global Positioning System (GPS) Sensors:
GPS sensors are receivers with antennas that use a satellite based navigation system with a network of
24 satellites in orbit around the earth to provide position, speed , and time information.
The GPS was originally developed for use by the United States army, but in the 1980s, the United
States government allowed the system to be used for civilian people. Though the GPS satellite data is
free and works anywhere in the world.
By using the GPS sensor, you can get current information from the GPS receiver, such as (x) and (y)
coordinates, and velocity.
LIDAR SENSOR
Lidar (also called LIDAR, LiDAR, and LADAR) is a surveying method that measures distance to a
target by illuminating that target with a laser light. The name lidar, sometimes considered an acronym
of Light Detection And Ranging,(sometimes Light Imaging, Detection, And Ranging), was originally
a portmanteau of light and radar . Lidar is popularly used to make high resolution maps, with
applications in geodesy geomatics , archaeology geography, geology, geomorphology, seismology
,forestry atmospheric physics, laser guidance, airborne laser swath mapping (ALSM), and laser
altimetry. Lidar sometimes is called laser scanning and 3D scanning, with terrestrial, and cellphones
applications.

Miles Davis Research Paper
Biography of Miles Davis Miles Davis was born in Alton, Illinois on May 26, 1926. He was the son of
a dental surgeon and a music teacher in a middle class household. Davis developed his earliest
appreciation for music listening to the gospel music of the black church. His father introduced him to
playing the trumpet at the age of 13. Miles Davis had talent playing the trumpet and was soon sent to
music school directed by Elwood Buchanan. He quickly developed his own style inspired by major
trumpeters like Louis Armstrong. Davis continually played trumpet through high school and later he
was invited by Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker to join them onstage to replace a sick band member.

Between 1951 and 1954, he released many records on Prestige, with several different combos. While
the people of the recordings varied, the lineup often featured Sonny Rollins and Art Blakey. Davis was
particularly in love of Rollins and tried several times, in the years that preceded his meeting with John
Coltrane, to recruit him for a regular group. He never succeeded because Rollins was prone to make
himself unavailable for months at a time. In spite of the casual occasions that generated these
recordings, their quality is almost always quite high, and they document the evolution of Davis style
and sound. During this time he began using the Harmon mute, held close to the microphone, in a way
that became his signature, and his phrasing, especially in ballads, became spacious, harmonious, and
relaxed. This sound became so characteristic that the use of the Harmon mute by any jazz trumpet

Essay about Problems with Interpersonal Communication
What, what did you say? I often find myself saying this when talking with children. The likely culprit
of why is poor listening habits. Most people spend mere time listening than they spend on any other
communication activity, yet a large percentage of people never learn to listen well. (TLSC, 2008) The
above example is what I like to call pseudo listening. People will be thinking about something else but
appear to be listening and only get about half the intended message. Recently at my father s (Ron)
company because of a pseudo listening instance a $400,000 dollar piece of equipment did not get
specked correctly. When it was delivered to the customer at Company B the blast doors did not fit

X received very vague information from the engineer at Company B. Mr. X relayed this wrong
information to the planning department at Ron s company. In the end this resulted in the final product
being rejected. This caused Company B a great deal of money and Ron time and money as well. Had
Mr. X listen to what was being quoted and asked for more concrete information the entire situation
would have been different. During the listening phase if Mr. X had been truly engaged he would have
realized that the placement of the welds was specked on the wrong spots. They were about ½ inch off,
nonetheless it was incorrect. Rather he focused on getting this other job so he was thinking about that
instead. The result of the project was Company B didn t want to pay for the work and Ron was out $
400,000 dollars. Thus creating a negative affect on the business relationship however, this could have
been avoided with some good listening habits.
Improving the Situation A good listener wants to see how the facts explain the ideas and the evidence
supports arguments, and realizes facts are important only in relation to principles, ideas and
arguments. (Oregon State University, 2008) If Mr. X was using good listening habits he would have
gotten the message, decoded it then asked clarification questions. Which, would have resulted in Ron
and Company B both being satisfied with the product? One of the other factors I mentioned was Mr. X

Effects Of Anti Babesia Vaccine On The Livestock Industry
4. Discussion Babesia has a worldwide economic importance due to the enormous losses it causes for
the livestock industry. A subunit antigen attracted the attention for the development of anti Babesia
vaccine (Brown et al., 2006). In this respect, HSPs have emerged as prospective immunostimulatory
components for vaccine development (Suto and Srivastava, 1995; Suzue and Young, 1996; Zugel and
Kaufmann, 1999). Therefore, we investigated the characterization of a member of the HSP 70 family
from B. bigemina. The sequence of BbigHSP 70 was found in the genome sequence database of B.
bigemina through the blast search with homologue sequences of B. bovis and B. gibsoni. The
sequence of BbigHSP 70 from the Argentina strain was identified by sequencing. Gene has 2 copies in
most apicomplexan, but we did not analyze the copy number in B. bigemina; this will be done in a
future study. Phylogenetic analysis of the amino acid sequence showed that all intraerythrocytic
protozoan parasites, including Plasmodium spp., make one group located outside the paraphyletic
group containing eumycetes and vertebrates. Since the HSP 70 of the parasites and hosts do not seem
to be closely related, they likely evolved separately. The H SP 70 of Babesia, Theileria and
Plasmodium seem to be closely related; therefore, the function of HSP 70 might be similar among
these parasites. Jie et al. (1996) suggested that HSP 70 perform functions critical to the survival of B.

The Corruption of Downloading Music
Digitally illegal music file sharing is now mainstream. But should it be legal to those who have broken
the law against the music industry and its artists? More specifically by RIAA the criminal can be
charged by up to five years of jail time and fines up to $250,000. Some people agree that music files
should be digitally shared, so everyone can have easy access to their favorite music without spending
a substantial amount of money. But not everyone agrees with this idea. Some people believe that
music file sharing should be illegal since record companies and artists have lost an enormous account
of income because of the drops of the sales. There is a variety of different points of aspects on if
digitally music file sharing should be illegal or not. There are many people ,including artists and
people related to the music industry business, that they are totally against music piracy because of
morals and economic related issues.
The first massive strike on the record industry (RIAA) reports that music sales in the United States
have dropped 47 percent since Napster came out in 1999. The availability of free music has cost the
music industry $12.5 billion in economic losses. To regain some of these losses, the record industry
has filed lawsuits against individuals who have been found to own downloaded music files. In some
cases, some of those individuals have been sued for thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The Golden Booklet Of The True Christian Life
God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, therefore a predetermined path of righteousness or
condemnation is contradictory to the core values of Christianity, as it eliminates the need for the will
to be saved by Christ. This shows that God does not control our actions, in hopes that we live in
accordance to him.
In The Golden Booklet of the True Christian Life, author John Calvin explains that our actions do
affect our relationship with God. He says, It is God s own glory that he cannot have anything to do
with iniquity and uncleanness, (Calvin, 17). God would not be able to be with us if we lived a
complete life of inconsideration to him that would be an uncleanly life. A Christian is called to be as
much like Jesus as they possibly can. Jesus never made compromises, he didn t ever say I am the son
of God so I can live how I want. For it is unlawful for you to make a compromise with God: to try to
fulfill part of your duties and to omit others at your own pleasure, (Calvin, 22). If Jesus had made
compromises he would probably not have dies for the sins of human kind. ... Show more content on

This world in which all human kind lives in is distorted and filled with sin but we are called to choose
to not give in to the sin, to not conform to the work around us and prove our faith is stronger than our
sinful desires. God does not control what we choose to do, he may put situations in ones lives that will
test ones faith but the person themselves is in control of their fate and what will come from the
challenge that lies ahead. Calvin states, The Lord has still another reason for afflicting his children: to
try their patience and to teach them obedience, (Calvin, 52). God would not try a persons patience or
teach them obedience if God knew exactly what would happen, because it is in those trials that he

Delivery Drones Research Papers
Delivery Drones Imagine that you are eating breakfast and accidently spill coffee on your tie. You
have an important meeting in less than one hour and you do not have time to go to the store to buy a
new one. You pull out your phone and tap on the screen a few times; you have just ordered a tie
online. Thirty minutes later, you walk outside and take a package from underneath a drone. Inside the
package is the tie you had ordered. You quickly put on the tie and make it to the meeting on time.
Many people experience problems where a certain item is needed quickly, but they do not have the
time to go and buy it at a store. This is where delivery drones can play a major role. Although believed
to be dangerous and difficult to regulate, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One common argument against delivery drones is that they can invade privacy. The autonomy of
drones requires cameras, which many people think can be used to spy on people (Elzweig 173).
However, major companies that would utilize drones already have many peoples personal information
and have not done anything bad with them. Therefore, the pictures or videos from the cameras on
drones would most likely not be used to harm people.
Another argument that is made against delivery drones is that there is too much regulation from the
government (Stark 26). Right now, the FAA, or Federal Aviation Administration, has a rule that
autonomous drones cannot fly over highly populated areas (Peck 40). Another rule is that the drones

Statement Of Purpose For International Relations
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE International Relations is an important discipline in order to understand
how the global system works. By studying International Relations, it is possible to analyze political,
social and economic issues throughout the world and develop possible solutions for those issues. My
aim to pursue master degree in International Relations is to enhance my current analyze and problem
solution skills on international politics and international economic relations. Thus, by pursuing master
degree in International Relations, I will be able to develop more sophisticated point of view towards
international politics and economic effects on international politics. By pursuing International

In addition, I had the opportunity of case studies. Which gave me a well rounded perspective on
particular cases in International Relations. For instance, at Turkish Foreign Policy class, we analyzed
Cyprus Issue with all aspects, actors, approaches and events. By learning international security
theories, I was able to realize that, every conflict and situation can be systematically and sophistically
analyzed by IR theories. Without studying security theories, international disputes cannot be analyzed
and understood properly. Throughout my studies as an undergraduate student, the importance of
economic effects on International Relations became obvious to me. Current market liberal economic
system and multi national companies affect policy making processes of the states. Economic crisis
affects nearly every country on the globe because of economic interdependence between countries.
Thus, in order to understand and gain more sophisticated perspective about economic effects on IR, I
attended classes as, International Economics, History of International Economic Relations and History

Jason Bivins Jazz And Religion Summary
In his eye opening book, Jason Bivins analyzes the connection that jazz music has with American
religion. Not many scholars have decided to address this area religious studies.
He conducts interviews with multiple musicians, in an effort to grasp what level of impact that their
religion or spirituality had on their work.
He pushes for the need of religious experience to understanding jazz, while, at the same time, attempts
to show that jazz can serve as a catalyst for fresh interpretations to American religion.
Scholars of religion have begun to place a greater emphasis on the senses, particularly vision and
hearing
He lays out his case in eight chapters, which equally divide the book s main content into two parts.
He describes his own book ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually, he begins to pivot to the influence of the other faiths. For example, Islam gave black jazz
artists another way to find their subjectivity. Much of the Islamic jazz artists can be attributed to the
Ahmadiyya movement. Their groups gave black jazz artists a feeling of dignity and respect.
In chapter 3, he focuses on how jazz is able to create narratives for American religion. He said that the
retellings of jazz employ strategies of evasion designed to counter attempts to control and commodify
jazz and religion alike... (Bivins, pg. 84).
In chapter four, he focuses on jazz communitarianism. Even in the participation of counter institutions,
there is an American desire to find freedom and resist the norms. There were numerous organizations
such as the Union of God s Musicians in Artists Ascension (UGMAA) and the Association for the
Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) who were able to foster growth in young musicians and
give them tools to better succeed in life. These functions were very similar to the functions of a church

Teens Should Not Have Curfew Laws
Although some people may disagree, curfews for towns could be very inflicting on everyone. This
would ruin the freedom that teenagers may need. It could be disastrous if there was a curfew for many
towns and cities, it would most likely be even worse than before.
First and foremost, many teens are out at night doing things and going places. They deserve the right
to be able to be out at night and not have leave at a certain time. When the family or community
strictly imposes curfew law, kids are expected to observe it without question to avoid punishment.
This may be a very hard for some kids and it could just overall be a difficult thing to obey by.
Teenages should not have to worry about not getting to a certain place because of curfew. ... Show

This discriminates young individuals who may need to do extra work to support their family and
themselves. In the same way, authorities outright categorize those who do stay out beyond the curfew
limit as delinquents or violators. This would play a very important factor in why towns should not
have a curfew. It would not only be hurting one teen but many and their families.
In contrast, driving and hanging out during later night hours could put teens in risky situations.
Driving or traveling at night may impose greater dangers than traveling at daytime. In addition, curfew
keeps them away from temptations such as drug use, violent acts, heavy partying, and alcohol intake.
Which some of these could possibly reduce the risk of automobile accidents and injuries that may
result in that. They are both very different yet understandable points of views.
Even though there are the pros of town curfews, the cons can t be forgotten. The situations that some
teenagers and families may be in could contribute to them. It would be very dissatisfying if a town
around me started a late night

Why Indecision Is Wrong
To be indecisive is to abstain from making decisions repeatedly. One of the reasons indecision is so
debilitating is due to its habit forming nature, along with its transmission from person to person.
Indecision is the fear of choosing wrong, which is taken to the extreme when someone indecisive
forms this habit of indecision. This furthermore leads to failure due to procrastination and the cycle of
indecision begins over again. Indecision is the procrastination of making decisions; a procrastination
that is a habit formed by the self doubt, fear of choosing wrong, or failure inhibited in an indecisive
individual. Indecisions has not only a habit forming nature, it spreads from one person to another.
Indecision is transmitted from one

Three Components Of The U.s. Criminal Justice System
There are three components of the U.S. Criminal Justice System today, law enforcement, courts, and
corrections. Anyone who is arrested will go through all three aspects without even being found guilty.
However, one that most people seem to remember the most as a defining factor would be when they
were in court, during this time there are many rules, procedures, and codes of conduct to follow. These
are in place to allow a trial to proceed more efficiently and fairly for both the defense and prosecution.
Whether the charge is a felony or a misdemeanor the defendant is entitled to a fair trial in front of an
impartial, honest judge or jury. Consequently, this is not always the case. Most of the courts have
flaws where most public defense ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Professional Responsibility, also known as the OPR, found more than six hundred and fifty infractions
through the freedom of information act and over four hundred were major infractions between the
years 2002 2013 (Hundreds of Justice Department Attorneys). Proving the fact that the system is
flawed. There is one attorney that was described, as a talented, effective prosecutor willing to bend the
rules to get results (Hundreds of Justice Department Attorneys); doesn t exactly sound correct since
everyone has the right to a fair trial given by the sixth amendment (Schmalleger, 2016).
However, attorneys are not the only ones in the court procedures that have done something wrong.
There is an increasing number of judges that are getting caught as well. Most of them are getting
caught accepting bribes in some form. There was an Arkansas judge that reduced the amount of
money the nursing home had to pay the plaintiff because they donated money to his campaign
(Former Judge Sentenced). Another judge had accepted about $2.2 million to send kids to the juvenile
facility, putting about 2,000 juveniles there that didn t deserve it.
It is hard to believe that a system that is supposed to promote fairness wouldn t be so corrupt.
However, there are ways to help this section of the Criminal Justice System become less flawed. For
the public defense attorneys, an increase in

Summary of the Nature of Implementation
This paper investigates the implementation of ERP project at FoxMeyer Drugs in 1993. The paper will
identify lessons learnt from the failure of the project implementation. However a critical analysis of
what went right and wrong will be carried out.
According to a case study by Scott, (n.d), FoxMeyer was worth over 5 billion in 1993 this was a time
when the company was the fourth largest pharmaceuticals distributer. In 1993 FoxMeyer Drugs stated
an ambitious project aimed at increasing efficiency through the use of technology, in the last months

While implementing a project it is imperative to have the commitment of the management and also
employees, the employees were disgruntled as the project threatened their jobs, it would be advisable
to avoid the project all together.
The project did not achieve desirable standards as far as customer requirements, scope, environment
and execution were concerned. It was important that the project integrators to ensure customers do not
escalate during the implementation of the project, being the first adopters of the software FoxMeyer
should have exercised caution by adopting the software in phases rather than implementing the project
directly, furthermore, execution was the biggest problem, despite knowing that the project needed
skilled personnel FoxMeyer did not train staff during the early stages of the project and had to rely on
consultants. Finally the company should have gained control over the project from the start to ensure
that all the staff and management were involved but in this case despite knowing that the project
would not work as envisaged the management did not take control or stop the implementation of the
project.
FoxMeyer should not have implemented the project on the basis of escalation that the project would
save the company revenue. All the project factors needed to be considered. The project vendor and
consultants should not rely on history of successful projects but careful analysis of each company
before implementing a project.

Relationship Between People And Environment
What is the relationship between people and the environment?
Wesley Jean
Florida Gulf Coast University
Undergraduate Studies Fall 2017 IDS 3920 CRN 80335
To emulate the relationship between people and the environment, I find it best to consider Newton s
third law of motion which states; For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Meaning
that for every change made in nature, there will be an inevitable change in mankind a theory that can
easily be proven justifiable. There are a myriad of examples that proves a linear relationship between
people and the environment some for the good and unfortunately some for the worse. However, in an
effort to illustrate and thoroughly explain the dynamic relationship between people and the
environment, I will provide research on what I view as the three most distinguished areas where the
nature of our relationship can not be ignored. These topics include our effects on other species,
climate, and collectively vegetation and landscape. To begin, over the course of history human
activities have drastically changed or destroyed the natural habitats that are essential to the survival of
plants and animals. We have been known to pollute habitats, hunt and kill animals illegally, and our
trivial need to fulfill our aches for luxurious lifestyle often has the side effect and disrespecting home
and resources of other species that we share the plant Earth with. Our human population is multiplying
at an alarming rate

Essay about The Issue of Age Discrimination in America
The Issue of Age Discrimination in America
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) protects against age discrimination under
Title VII. Specifically, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), which was passed in
1967 by congress, covers discrimination against employees who are 40 or more years old. This topic
should be a big concern for employers, since the number of elderly workers is increasing as the baby
boomer population matures. It is estimated that as many as twenty percent of the claims filed with the
EEOC are for age discrimination. Also, age discrimination settlements can be considerably higher than
typical discrimination cases. Upon research, the average award amount between 1955 and 1988 was
$219,000. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Age discrimination is also unlawful in apprenticeship programs, pre employment inquiries, and
benefits. The ADEA applies to any company that employs more than 20 people, and age can only be a
job requirement if it can be shown that it is a bona fide occupational qualification, but this can be very
difficult to prove.
Some cases of age discrimination that I came across while researching this topic include: Parrish v.
Immanuel Medical Center (Bennett Alexander, p.418.). Surprisingly, many of the companies
referenced in age discrimination cases were big name companies. Some of these included:
Westinghouse Electric, Northrop Grumman, Continental Airlines, First Union Corp., and Detroit
Edison.
In the case involving Parrish and Immanuel Medical Center, the discrimination claim was filed by 66
year old Mary Ruth Parrish, member of a protected class. She alleged that she was discriminated
against because of her age after she returned from work from a leave and was told she had to transfer
positions instead of returning to her former job. Originally, she was a registrar and scheduled patient
appointments. She was consistently given good performance reviews and was very accurate, despite
not being as quick as some of the other workers. With her claim, she needed to prove that she was
qualified for the job and was able to meet all the legitimate job requirements. It was up to the

everything is the same as before. What he doesn t realize is that what has changed the most is his wife.
In this story the reader gets the impression that Norma Jean and Leroy are living in a lie. Although
Norma Jean has found other things to do while he is away she feels lonely and trapped. Leroy on the
other hand feels that she is happy with the life style they have. But what Leroy does not realize is that
they have grown apart. Leroy is having a hard time realizing that his relationship with his wife is not
as strong as he thinks it is. He feels the need talk about their dead son, but doesn t know if he should

has happened between him and his wife. This allows the reader to think badly about Leroy, and also
lets the reader judge the way Leroy is acting. But the reader also understands him since he has been
talking about his son for a long time with other people. As it says in the story Leroy used to tell

Preventive Patrol Essay
I believe preventive patrol is effective because of the deterrence theory. People who plan to commit a
crime do not want to get caught. I also think that some people will probably get nervous if a police
officer keeps passing by when they plan to commit a crime and might wonder if the police noticed
them. However, cop cars pass by in seconds, so I am glad other methods of patrol are being used like
foot patrol, bicycle patrol, and mounted patrol. Even if preventive patrols weren t effective, they still
make a presence in the community, which is important. Making a presence could familiarize a
neighborhood with a police officer. For example, the first day my son learned how to unlock the front
door, he did so when i was showering. He went outside

Income Inequality In Education
In today s economic society, the presence of income inequality has only grown worse and shows no
visible signs of stopping. According to an economics professor Emmanuel Saez, U.S. income
inequality has been increasing steadily since the 1970s, and now has reached levels not seen since
1928. This calls for an alarm to the people in social groups such as women and low income families.
Income inequality is brought to life by factors the can be influenced by properties of our nations
policies. The economic and public policies in the United States has led to income inequality due to the
factors of education, discrimination, and monopoly power.
In the United States, education has been known cause a larger economic gap for income inequality to
fill and sustain itself. This gap can be directly correlated with the price or tuition costs of education.
According to Catharine Bond Hill, The increased net price that lower income students face, hurts both
their enrollment and completion. The high cost of education causes low income individuals to receive
lower paying jobs due to the inability to receive higher education. The ability of the federal
government to participate in policies have slightly decreased over the years. When it comes to the
reduction of policies, the correlation between an increase in the income inequality of education can be
seen. This occurs because government policies are responsible for changes such as allocating
resources to entities such as education. The

A Comparison Of Ancient Greek And Roman Civilization
Throughout History many civilizations have rose and fallen but we will be analyzing Greek and
Roman Civilization. Many people view the Romans as a copy cat empire compared to the Greek
because they modeled so many things after the Greeks, for myself, it would be correct to assume this
were true. At first during the colonial age or era, Romans and Greek heavily influenced one another
which one had engaged in trade at the Black Sea the surrounding Mediterranean areas. Trading
between the two nations was very successful due to the safety of Roman Military presence. Over time,
the Romans had adapted many of the Greeks practices and believes. This is one of the main reasons
that Roman could be seen as a copy cat of Ancient Greece. Ancient Greece and Rome both had used
agriculture. However, Rome did not have much problems with production of food through agriculture
like the Greeks did. Both of them had produced products like wheat, but the former, Greece, had failed
to produce a good amount of wheat because Romans had far superior farming techniques. Instead of
having a good production of wheat, the Greeks had substituted wheat for olive oil hence why many
people think of olive oil coming from Greece. Both nations had heavily relied on slaves as well. How
could a nation become so successful with running the government, thinking about important ideals, or
enjoying themselves if they had to worry about how they were going to get fed? Roman slaves were a

How Bullying has Affected the Entire Student Population or...
Everyone agrees that there are negative effects to the students who are being bullied. They are affected
mentally, socially, and more often than not, are reluctant to attend school. There are many studies
about bullying in school and the impact on the child who is being bullied, but there are not studies on
how bullying has affected the entire student population or the school climate.
This article focused their attention on the school wide impact of bullying. The study looked at 7,058
ninth graders in 289 schools in Virginia. What the researchers found was that bullying has a negative
effect on school climate that goes beyond the victims who were bullied. When bullying was perceived

Reflection
Bullying on campus has long been an issue that students, parents, and school officials have had to deal
with; my campus is no different. The article focused on freshman being the most at risk of bullying
since they are smaller and weaker . Some may see it as boys being boys, or kids being kids, but it is
still bullying. I have taught freshman the last five years and I have seen the bullying come in two
forms, physical and verbal.
If girls bully, they will generally bully verbally. They will name call or spread rumors to make another
students existence at school miserable. I have had several students be on the receiving end of the
bullying and it has clearly affected them. The girls who have been bullied show all the effects the
article conveyed. School attendance dropped for some, and for others, grades began to lower as well.
For boys, they will bully physically, as well as verbally. I have observed boys push, punch, and slam
each other to prove who is in charge . The victims seem to be in a different place mentally. The boys
will change the way they act, which way they walk to class, and where they sit at lunch.
One thing I didn t think about until I read the article was how it affected others who witnessed the
bullying. I didn t know that it could affect their attendance or academic achievement. It makes it all
the more important to stop the bullying because it affects so much more than

The Ute otherwise known as Nuciu, The People are a Native American tribe. They live in Utah,
Colorado, New Mexico, and parts of Arizona, Nevada, and Wyoming. They inhabited 225,000 square

New Mexico. Ute is the origin of the name Utah. They are believed to to be the first aboriginal groups
in North America to use horses in large groups. The Ute speak what was formerly known as Plateau
Shoshonean, a dialect of the Uto Aztecan language. These are some very important facts about the Ute
people, all of which have influenced their lives forever. Life for the Ute started in the Great Basin at
about a.d. 1250 1350. After they began to use horses, which they acquired from the Spanish in the

people also practice ceremonies like the Bear Dance and Sun Dance. The Bear Dance was held in the
Spring at the same time that the Bear was out of hibernation. The dance was done in a large brush
enclosure. It lasted about ten days, and it propitiated bears to increase hunting. The Sun Dance was
borrowed from the Plains Tribes. The dance is held in July and it lasted for four days and nights. The
Sun Dance was held to increase community esteem and welfare, it was also symptomatic of the
feelings of despair that they were feeling. They danced in hope for a vision or cure for the sick. The
Ute also made pictographs and petroglyphs on rocks. Some of the pictographs and petroglyphs can be

  • 2. Expectations Of Characters In Shakespeare s The Scarlet... Doodle was just about the craziest brother a boy ever had. Page 1 paragraph 2 Doodle was an ordinary boy with something special that not everybody had a heart condition. It prevented him from doing most things an average boy could. Doodle and his brother would spend most of their time at Old Woman Swamp or outdoors. They are always together in some way. The author of The Scarlet Ibis uses foreshadowing, similes, and imagery to show that others expectations of one can impact themselves and take a toll on their life. The first main character in the story is Doodle, also known as William Armstrong. When he was born, no one had faith in him of surviving, except his Aunt Nicey. He is born with a heart condition that interferes with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The major conflicts in the story are man vs. man, man vs. self, man vs. society. First, man vs. man because Doodle has conflicts with not living up to what Brother wants. Although Brother develops a bond with Doodle, his love and greed pushed Doodle to learn how to walk and doing more than what Doodle can. Doodle has already gone too far by learning how to walk, while the doctor says to be careful. On page 3, according to the doctor, the instructions are, ... he mustn t get too excited, too hot, too cold, or too tired... must be treated gently. Disobeying these instructions can come with consequences. The doctor then goes on saying some movements could strain his weak heart and possibly kill him. Secondly, man vs. self. When Brother first proposed the idea of Doodle walking, Page 4 Doodle responds with, I can t walk, Brother,...Mama, the doctor everybody, He doesn t have a desire to learn how to walk because he s been influenced by everybody around him that he can t. Lastly, man vs. society because society is what caused Brother to help Doodle. According to the narrator, he was embarrassed, Page 4 paragraph 4, When Doodle was five years old, I was embarrassed at having a brother ... couldn t walk, so I set out to teach him. These 3 conflicts help guide the theme and moral of the story. The author uses similes to show, others expectations of one can impact themselves. The narrator compares Doodle ... • 3. What Is The Differences Between Prejudice And Prejudice Prejudice : It consists of attitudes (usually negative) toward others based on their gender, religion, race, or membership in a particular group. Discrimination: It consists of behavior, usually negative, directed toward others based on their gender, religion, race, or membership in a particular group. Both are similar as these are negative factors of human nature. Moreover, these are shown towards others based on their gender, religion, race. According to one of the oldest theories known as realistic conflict theories prejudice and discrimination increases among the various social groups as they compete for scarce economic resources such as good jobs, land, political power. Both cause differences, and inequalities among the people, hence they divide the society. Prejudice and Discrimination are different from each other as prejudice is a negative attitude shown towards the others. However, discrimination is a negative behavior or action towards the others. Also, prejudice involves only beliefs and emotions not actions. Furthermore, prejudice is internal as it is shelled within the mind of the individual while, discrimination is external it can be seen by the others through the actions.( Wood, et al, 2016, p. 329). When an individual has a history of alcohol abuse, the damaged heart muscle cannot pump enough blood to circulate to the rest to the rest of the body; the individual become very fatigue, thirsty, weak, dizziness with shortness of breath. As the disease progresses, it leads to cardiac heart failure, a condition that affect the heart chambers. Long term alcohol use has been associated with the cause of left ventricular dysfunction. The left side heart failure causes fluid to back up into the lungs which suppresses an individual s lung making it hard to breath. Excessive alcohol intake has been linked to many cardiac disease including stroke, hypertension, and arrhythmias. • 5. Similarities and Dissimilarities in Transcription and... Similarities and dissimilarities in transcription and replication Similarities. The similarities are the following: Both processes use similar nucleotide building blocks They use the same chemical method of attack on the same triphosphate group of an incoming nucleotide. The attack too is perpetrated by the OH final group of the growing chain Both processes are perpetrated by the hydrolysis of the pyrophosphate group that is released upon instigation of the attack. Differences between transcription and replication The differences include the following: DNA replication copies the entire helix, whilst DNA transcription copies only specific regions of one strand of the helix. During DNA transcription only short region (about 60 base pairs) of the template DNA helix are unwound. More and more is unwound as the RNS polymerase continues to transcribe. With replications, however, the parent helix remains separated from DNA helix until the process of replication is complete. DNA replication and transcription contain slight differences in their substrates. The DNA nucleotides are deoxyribonucleotide triphosphates. The RNA ones are, however, different consisting of v, meaning that they possess the OH group. In RNA, too, the thymine group contains the base uracil. The DNA does not have this and both of these differences are manifested in DNA transcription. DNA replication too only occurs at certain moments in a cell s life and is a thoroughly regulated process. DNA ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Borges concept of the mirror relates to Hamlet in finding meaning in reality through the dream Hamlet has. Shakespeare mirrors Hamlets actions in his dream, bringing Hamlet (and the audience) back to where his dream begins, with his death. • 10. Movie Reflection In The Movie Drai Santoshi Maa Movie Reflection In the film Jai Santoshi Maa the goddess Santoshi Maa is depicted in many different forms. Santoshi Maa is the goddess of happiness , she has many forms in which she provides hope for the people. She wears an elegant sari using the gesture of blessing with her hand, and at when she takes her many different forms she has a very calm demeanor which provides hope for her devotees. This idea of hope is shown in the movie multiple times, Satyawati, who is a very faithful devotee of Santoshi Maa, falls in love with Birju who comes from a farming family. The two are able to get married without any problems but the during this time Parvati, Brahmani, and Lakshmi had noticed that Santoshi Maa had been becoming more and more popular and they get jealous. As a result of this they decide that they wanted to torture Sarasvati as she was a big fan of Santoshi Maa. We see this torment right on the day of the wedding as Satyavati s sister in laws are horrible human beings who do everything in their power to bring her down. They give similar treatment to Birju as well as they disrespect him, they feed him left overs and call him useless. This idea of feeding a son of the family leftover as a sign of disrespect is still prominent in India today, because of the idea that women are suppose to provide the men of the family with fresh cooked food not leftovers. Essay On Cement Industry Compiled by: Mirza Rohail B http://economicpakistan.wordpress.com/2008/02/12/cement industry/ History Introduction Growth of cement industry is rightly considered a barometer for economic activity. In 1947, Pakistan had inherited 4 cement plants with a total capacity of 0.5 million tons. Most people spend mere time listening than they spend on any other communication activity, yet a large percentage of people never learn to listen well. (TLSC, 2008) The above example is what I like to call pseudo listening. People will be thinking about something else but appear to be listening and only get about half the intended message. A subunit antigen attracted the attention for the development of anti Babesia vaccine (Brown et al., 2006). In this respect, HSPs have emerged as prospective immunostimulatory components for vaccine development (Suto and Srivastava, 1995; Suzue and Young, 1996; Zugel and Kaufmann, 1999). Therefore, we investigated the characterization of a member of the HSP 70 family from B. bigemina. The sequence of BbigHSP 70 was found in the genome sequence database of B. bigemina through the blast search with homologue sequences of B. bovis and B. gibsoni. The sequence of BbigHSP 70 from the Argentina strain was identified by sequencing. Gene has 2 copies in most apicomplexan, but we did not analyze the copy number in B. bigemina; this will be done in a future study. Phylogenetic analysis of the amino acid sequence showed that all intraerythrocytic protozoan parasites, including Plasmodium spp., make one group located outside the paraphyletic group containing eumycetes and vertebrates. Since the HSP 70 of the parasites and hosts do not seem to be closely related, they likely evolved separately. The H SP 70 of Babesia, Theileria and Plasmodium seem to be closely related; therefore, the function of HSP 70 might be similar among these parasites. Jie et al. This shows that God does not control our actions, in hopes that we live in accordance to him. In The Golden Booklet of the True Christian Life, author John Calvin explains that our actions do affect our relationship with God. He says, It is God s own glory that he cannot have anything to do with iniquity and uncleanness, (Calvin, 17). God would not be able to be with us if we lived a complete life of inconsideration to him that would be an uncleanly life. A Christian is called to be as much like Jesus as they possibly can. Jesus never made compromises, he didn t ever say I am the son of God so I can live how I want. The boys will change the way they act, which way they walk to class, and where they sit at lunch. One thing I didn t think about until I read the article was how it affected others who witnessed the bullying. I didn t know that it could affect their attendance or academic achievement.
