How The Gospel of Luke Portrays A Model Of Social Justice...
Luke s Gospel is a portrayal of Jesus as a model of social justice. Hence, the reader is empowered and
influenced by the Gospel to be actively involved in social justice issues. The Catholic Church has
sought to reach out to those in need, and Luke s Gospel demonstrates this through injustices that Jesus
challenged. In addition, mental illness, which is a current social justice issue reflects and appeals to
problems that Jesus faced and reacted to in his time.
Luke s Gospel greatly emphasizes the social justice aspect of Christian living. Throughout the third
book in the New Testament, the story and history of Jesus Christ is written, and Luke preserves the
many sayings of Jesus warning that those with material possessions have a ... Show more content on

The Catechism shows that;
Society ensures social justice by providing the conditions that allow associations and individuals to
obtain their due. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1928).
In other words, social justice is linked to the common good and exercise of authority.
The life and teachings of Jesus Christ call us to work for justice, peace and human rights. In the
Gospel of Luke, Jesus describes this mission in the following way:
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
Because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To let the oppressed go free,
To proclaim the year of the Lord s favour. (Luke 4: 18 19)
As a result, the work for social justice is an integral mission of the Church. Catholics are inspired and
sustained through work for a just society.
Social Justice also comes with an understanding of respect for the human person.
Respect for the human person proceeds by way of respect for the principle that everyone should look
upon his neighbour as another self, above all bearing in mind his life and the means necessary for
living it with dignity. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1931).
Catholics conduct acts of social justice out of the Church s teachings that people are;
Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same
nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ,

Does Janie Should Be Diagnosed As Asperger s Syndrome Essay
Case Study
According to the extensive amount of information provided in this case study about 6 year old Janie, I
have come to the conclusion that Janie should be diagnosed as having a mild form of Autistic
Spectrum Disorder formerly known as Asperger s syndrome. Under the Autistic Spectrum Disorder
Asperger s syndrome is one of four pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) that all fall under the
Autistic spectrum. (Dombeck, 2008).ASD is a neural development disorder that is rarely diagnosed
before the age of three (Roddick, 2014).ASD causes impairments in social skills and communication
in different levels (Roddick, 2014).Those with ASD that are able to function at a normal level usually
fall towards the end of the autism spectrum near the disorder known as a milder form of autism,
Asperger s. Janie displays a number of symptoms that are specifically common to ASD. One of the
main symptoms being that Janie shows delays in motor developments such as walking and toilet
training, however she has shown no language deficits or cognitive problems so far. This is extremely
common in children with ASD (Asperger s syndrome). They often take longer to reach physical
developmental milestones, but children with this syndrome usually are of average intelligence or in
some cases, above intelligence. (Silberman, 2001).This discovery of cases with children having
normal or above average IQ s led to the phrase that Asperger s is basically a high functioning form of
autism, because

Wernicke s Aphasia
Symptoms of Wernicke s aphasia vary among patients due to different extents and locations of damage
to the temporal lobe. The most common symptoms include notable anomia, poor auditory
comprehension, and poor repetition ability (Esstabrooks Albert, 2014). Other common symptoms
include jargon which is nonsense words, paraphasic speech, both impaired reading and writing skills
and meaningless speech. Although their speech is meaningless and includes nonsense words it is said
linguistically, patients with Wernicke s aphasia produce an equal number of words as persons without
aphasia in spontaneous speech, (Kent Massachusetts Institute, 2004). Two distinguished
characteristics of this type of aphasia that differentiates them from other aphasia s are the fact that
their fluency of speech is preserved and their primary problematic areas with comprehension (Barisa
et al.,2013). Their intact fluency is what classifies them into the fluent aphasia category. ... Show more

Importance of Mother
The Importance of the Presence of the Mother During the First Three Years Organized by Sheila
Kippley (February 28, 2005)
Purpose Mothers have told me that they have been influenced by those experts and writers who state
that the presence of the mother during the early years is extremely important to their child s optimal
development. This knowledge has helped them to make decisions that enable them to remain with
their children or at least cut back on their hours away from their little ones. There are many different
views on how to raise children, but this is not the place to have a discussion on parenting issues. Many
experts and ordinary persons agree that the mother plays an important role in the development of her
child, emotionally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A baby must have a mother, a mother who is mature enough to attend to its needs and provide so
called object constancy for a minimum of three years... The mothering function is one of the most
important of all human events but, unfortunately, one of the least appreciated or regarded by society.
Harold Voth, M.D., Medical Times, November 1980.
Let me once again emphasize that the natural transitions between sexual intercourse, pregnancy, birth,
breastfeeding, and early childhood form a cohesive physiological basis for the development of
maternal infant attachment as it gradually progresses from conception to weaning in the second or
third year of life. No amount of technology will improve on this biologically determined pattern that
was set in place by a personal Creator, nor can anything that is artificially produced fully replace the
spiritual significance and the emotional satisfaction that these experiences can produce in a woman s
life.
Debra Evans, Heart Home, p. 133.
In the first three years of life every human being undergoes yet a second birth, in which he is born as a
psychological being possessing selfhood and separate identity. The quality of self an infant achieves in
those crucial three years will profoundly affect all of his subsequent existence.

I Am A New Jersey Girl
Could you see getting more out of life than what you had growing up? I couldn t see it, I thought that
this is what life had to offer. The smell of the factories, construction, and the air ports is what accented
the city. Newark New Jersey had so much excitement and entertainment right in front of you. You
didn t have to go anywhere and that is what made growing up there memorable. My parents decided
they were going to separate when I was six years old. My life had changed dramatically. Our stability
was effected as well as separation from my father and most of all trying to understand and out the
pieces together as a child .Growing up was developmental for me now as an adult I understand things
from both side. Growing up a Jersey girl is what made me.
Once my parents separated, my mother, sister, little brother and I left my grandmother s house to stay
with different relatives until my mother got it together. But our first stop was act my older sister s
house. It was different waken up somewhere different, waken up in a new environment, and new
retinues. Once we adapted to one living situation it seemed like it was time to move again. Once I
stated to get attached to my nieces and nephews it was hard for me to leave them and start over again
but I couldn t change anything. It seemed like my mother had it all together now. I had started a new
school, new setting new house. I was excited again happy to have my own space again. Things were

agents get paid according to their ranking. For example, a newly assigned field agent earns about
$43,441 a year, whereas a senior agent with many years of experience may earn close to $130,810 a

agents acquire benefits from the agency. Federal employees, retirees and survivors have the Federal
Employee Health Benefit (FEHB) that offers them a wide variety of health plans they can choose

regardless of their age, but if an agent wants a higher coverage, then they must be willing to pay more.
The FBI also includes the Federal Employees Retirement System. Most agents newly hired are

Why Being Late Is Important
Michael L. Annino 12 September 2017 The Importance of Being on Time Being late is becoming a
more and more common trend among people of all walks of life, especially in the United States Army.
Failure to be on time is completely unacceptable. Being late may cost the military money, and lead to
a poor reputation of soldiers and their first line supervisors. There are many methods available to
prevent being late as well as proper steps for soldiers to take if they are going to be late. All soldiers
have the duty and responsibility to follow the orders of those appointed above them. When soldiers are
told to be at a certain place and time, they are expected to be there. When soldiers are late to their

First and foremost, soldiers need to ensure they are receiving the proper amount of sleep at night.
Regardless of the amount of free time left over at the end of their duty, soldiers will need to begin
resting with at least seven to eight hours before waking. Proper sleep cycles ensure soldiers will wake
up on time with enough energy for the work day. Soldiers should consider setting multiple alarms for
waking up for redundancy. Arriving to work a minimum of 10 minutes prior will give soldiers time to
calm themselves and get ready for the work day. Occasionally, emergencies do occur and soldiers can
trust in their leaders to be understanding. If for any number of reasons soldiers do not have a way to

their tardiness. Soldiers may even receive assistance in dealing with an emergency if needed. As long

Having Sealant Applied To Your Child s Teeth Essay
What You Should Know About Having Sealant Applied To Your Child s Teeth
It s important to teach your child good dental hygiene habits starting when the baby teeth first erupt.
Establishing a pattern of regular dental visits and daily brushing will help protect your child s teeth for
life. However, it may be difficult for your child to always brush effectively. That s where dental
sealants come in. They help reduce the risk of developing cavities. The procedure is easy to endure,
and it s certainly much less stressful and less expensive than getting a filling. Here s what you should
know about this dental procedure.
Dental Sealants Fill Pits
The pits and grooves of your child s teeth are breeding grounds for bacteria because food gets stuck in
them easily. If your child is not able to brush vigorously, the food may not get removed. Even if your
child brushes very well, the bristles on the toothbrush may be to large to get down into the very small
pits. A dental sealant is a type of liquid plastic the dentist applies to a tooth. It flows into all the
grooves and pits, and then hardens. This makes the surface of the tooth smoother and less likely to
trap food that feeds bacteria ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, it is common to wait for the first set of molars to fully erupt before considering dental
sealants. The decision is on a tooth by tooth basis. Your child s dentist examines each tooth after it
emerges through the gum. It s possible the dentist will recommend sealing a baby tooth or a front
tooth. It all depends on the shape and condition of your child s teeth.
Another reason your dentist may wait to apply sealant until the molars come in is because by then
your child is old enough to cooperate with the procedure. While it isn t painful, some cooperation is
necessary since the tooth has to stay dry or the sealant won t adhere

Fluid And Continuum Mechanics
Chapter 1: Introduction
1.1 Fluid Fluid Flow Fluid is a substance which deforms under an applied shear stress, no matter how
small it is. It cannot resist any shear force applied to it. Fluids such as Gases liquids in motion are
generally referred to as Flow . Flow tells about how fluids behave and how they interact with their
surrounding environment.
1.2 Fluid Dynamics:
Fluid dynamics is the sub discipline of Fluid Mechanics which in turn the sub discipline of Continuum
Mechanics. Fluid Mechanics dealt with the study of motion and the effect of motion of fluids [liquids
Gases] as Fluid motions are responsible for most of the transport of the pollutants. Fluid Dynamics
describes the flow of fluids.

interactions, then heat transfer occurs. Basically, heat Transfers in three different modes: Conduction,

1.6.1 Conduction: If there is a physical contact between any two substances or from one part of
substance to another part which are in different temperatures then there exists conduction.
1.6.2 Convection: Convection occurs mainly in moving fluids. Here transfer of molecules in a fluid
occurs resulted in heat transfer. It is of two types. As the flow caused by the buoyancy force, it is said
to be natural convection and if it needs some external influences to transfer the heat it is said to be
Forced convection.
1.6.3 Radiation:
If the heat transfer occurs without requiring any medium, then it is said to be Radiation, a third mode
of heat transfer.

Now Akhenaten does take credit for the find of the specific location where no former religious taint or

in the obvious reflection in art, architecture, building design, city planning, and religion at this time.
Prior to Akhenaten s 4th year of reign he did things much as his father s had done before him, meaning

The Optimization Problem Of Matlab Routines
Relevant numerical techniques, which have been done with the help of MATLAB routines, are applied
to solve the arising optimization problem and to find the optimum parameters of the TMD. For a given
mass ratio, µ, one can assume different values of the frequency ratio, f, and for each frequency ratio
assuming a range of damping factor ζ2 of the TMD and estimate the optimum parameters that
minimize a certain desired output. Fig. 8 is an example of the numerical optimization conducted to
estimate the optimal frequency ratio and damping factor of the TMD for two different mass ratios
under wind loads modeled as white noise. The optimization is based on the minimization of the
displacement of the primary structure. In this numerical optimization, the responses of the primary
structure are normalized, which means that the response obtained with the TMD when attached to the
structure is divided by the corresponding response obtained without the TMD. The optimal values of
the frequency ratio and the damping factor of the TMD are written on the subfigures. It is shown that a
TMD with 1% mass ratio can provide a significant reduction in the displacement response of the
primary structure. The reduction in the displacement depends very much on the tuning frequency and
the damping ratio of the TMD. By increasing the mass ratio from 1% to 5%, the displacement
response of the primary structure is reduced. However, the TMD with 5% mass ratio is more robust to
the changes in the frequency

Leo Frank Trial Essay
While Frank died maintaining his innocence, definitive proof of his innocence was never uncovered.
Frank underwent an unjust trial and ultimately lost his life due to the racial prejudices and violence
that enticed Atlanta during this time period. Atlanta felt threatened by outsiders after the Civil War and
this was apparent during Frank s trial. Despite the lack of evidence against Frank, the people of
Atlanta were quick to believe the guilt of a northern Jew. Leo Frank s story was spread widely after
his death. Movies, books, and articles about the Frank case have caused the trial to gain further
notoriety. The aftermath of Frank s case and ultimately his untimely death, show how racial tensions
and the facilitation of fear towards outsiders can have detrimental consequences. People today can
examine this case and see how race and notion of outsiders still plays a role in our court system today.
Additionally, the role the media played in Frank s case sealed his fate to the masses after painting him
as a deviant, and this practice of speaking to ones character is still used by the media during cases and
trials today. Examining the effects the media plays on a case is an important practice that people living
today should engage in.
Sacco and Vanzetti s trial also garnered national attention through newspaper articles. Six years after
their conviction, Sacco and Vanzetti gained international attention. Their defense lawyers also argued
that the men were only convicted due to their anarchist beliefs and went on to contact Benito
Mussolini who argued in defense of the men as well. Prejudice against anarchists was present during
the time of this trial had a great impact on the outcome of the case and left a lasting impression of
America. Another man ended up confessing to the murders, but Sacco and Vanzetti were continually
denied a new trial. Just as in Frank s trial, the defense for Sacco and Vanzetti applied for clemency but
did not receive it. Furthermore, a judge was able to deny their appeals and eventually this rule was
rewritten in Massachusetts so judges no longer have this power. The fear of communism and prejudice
against immigrants played a major role in this case and impacts people s lives

Management Philosophy Comparison Management aims to accomplish group purposes with the least
expenditure of material or human resources (Koontz, 1969, p. 415). The term management philosophy
seems almost oxymoronic in that they appear to work toward different results. The goal of
management should be to improve the organization. (Kirkeby, 2000) suggest that the objective of
management has always been the goal of making the group, institution, organization, or nation, into
the strongest organism possible. Triumph, subjugation, gaining strength, and survival are all priorities

Scientific Management. Frederick W. Taylor born on March 20, 1865 considered the father of
Scientific Management . He strongly campaigned for less human interaction and more machine driven
production, even going on to say In the past the man has been first; in the future the system must be
first (Worthy, 1959, p. 73). One of the driving factors for Taylor s scientific management was that he
believed the industrial management of his day was run by individuals that had no professional
amplitude Deming suggested that management could be formulated as an academic discipline, and
that the best results would come from the partnership between a trained and qualified management and
a cooperative and innovative workforce (Weisbord, 1987, p. 9). Taylorism became the first big
management fad. Taylor s scientific management consisted of four principles (Weisbord, 1987): 1.
Replace rule of thumb work methods with methods based on a scientific study of the tasks. 2.
Scientifically select, train, and develop each employee rather than passively leaving them to train
themselves. 3. Provide detailed instruction and supervision of each worker in the performance of that
worker s discrete task. 4. Divide work equally between managers and workers, so that the managers
apply scientific management principles to planning the work and the workers

Essay on Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken
The Road Not Taken: All the Difference
Each person must make many decisions in their lifetime. Some decisions are easy while others are
more difficult. The poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost is a first person narrative tale of a
monumental moment in Frost s life. Frost is faced between the choice of a moment and a lifetime.
Walking down a rural road the narrator encounters a point on his travel that diverges into two separate
similar paths. In Robert Frost s poem The Road Not Taken , Frost presents the idea of man facing the
difficult unalterable predilection of a moment and a lifetime. This idea in Frost s poem is embodied in
the fork in the road, the decision between the two paths, and the speaker s decision. ... Show more

The speaker s sight is limited his eyes can only see the path until it bends into the undergrowth. The
author shows man s attempts to tell which path is better by trying to for see what they will behold

purpose. The first of the two paths is the more common route than the other less traveled path, which
wanted wear. Frost presents a classic conflict the decision between the common easy path and the
exceptional challenging path. Choosing the already known easy path in life many people frequently
endure reassures that the outcome will be predictable. While choosing the less traveled road represents
the gamble of facing a more difficult path in life in hopes to achieve an incomparable and satisfactory
life, contrasting the more familiar lives other people take.
The road not taken delineates man s choice. After vacillating between the two fair roads, he finally
decides to take the road less traveled by ; knowing he cannot see where it will lead. Traveling down
the second road, the speaker still yearns to travel both paths he keeps the first for another day. As the
narrator proceeds down the unworn path, he realizes there will be no way he can ever return to the
deviation to experience the other route. The speakers utters:
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

A Minute Proposal Essay

Major League Baseball has probably some of the most exciting players in sports today. Players such as
Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter make watching baseball fun. But there are some people
in Major League Baseball that I have forgotten who display probably more talent than those 3
combined. The people that I am talking about, are the umpires.
You might be shocked when I say that but believe me, they are great athletes. Can you imagine
working in the same conditions they do? To do this, you would need to be able to stand up to
managers kicking dirt at you as well as dealing with players arguing at you for calls you have made

Working a schedule like that takes its toll on an umpire s body. At least they are rewarded for working
such tough hours. They get the other 6 months off, get their travelling expenses paid for, and get paid
at least $75,000 per year and that s for rookie umpires. Since they have to travel every few days, they
are always tired so they are rewarded by getting to sit in first class whenever they fly and when they
land at their destination, they get to sleep at the best hotels.
It s hard to believe why kids don t want to be like umpires. It s probably because all the kids don t
want to work that hectic of a schedule. Another good thing about being an umpire is that whenever
you have a problem with the owners of baseball teams, you can always tell your union about it and
then you can threaten the owners by saying you are resigning. When they hear the sound of that, they
will do what ever you say; just look at what they did when the players union had some trouble.
It s difficult to imagine why more people don t want to be in this type of job. You get to get players
autographs, have conversations with them while you re on the field. But like before, the job wears you
down more physically than mentally. With all they get for working, it s hard to believe that it s enough
to satisfy them. The umpires deserve more money for their line of work. Watching them on television
makes you think how can they deal with this. They should be paid more than the players should

When A Patient Is Admitted To The Hospital, The Nurse Needs
When a patient is admitted to the hospital, the nurse needs to be aware of the frequent hospital
acquired problems such as the development of pressure injuries and moisture acquired dermatitis
which could cause poorer patient outcomes and an increase to expenses for the hospital. There are a
wide variety of assessment tools nurses can use to group patients based on their risks for skin
breakdown or the development of pressure injuries such as the Braden Scale, which includes but is not
limited to how frequent the patient is wet which would potentiate skin breakdown. What that scale
does not take into account is the number of layers of linens on the average hospital bed. Many nurses
may never have considered that folding a regular top sheet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

By decreasing layers of linen, the nurse is allowing the patient to become immersed in the bed which
allows for better pressure redistribution and envelopment as the bed moves air around to help rotate
the site enduring the most pressure at a given time. (Williamson 2009). The first part of the study
conducted by Hill Rom, measured sacral pressures in mmHg with varying different linen
configurations on a low air loss surface with the data averaged to include head of the bed elevations
for zero, thirty, and forty five degrees. With just a fitted sheet, the average pressure measured was 35
mmHg. With the addition of just one quilted chux pad, the pressure measured increased to 41.7
mmHg. As more layers were added, the bed was up to six layers which produced a shocking increase
in sacral pressure up to 52.2 mmHg. (Williamson 2009). This drastic increase in just sacral pressure
alone puts patients at a significantly higher risk for developing a pressure injury so less layers of linen
on the bed has been proven to show a better outcome for the patient. The study also gathered data for
the pressures exerted on the sacrum on a standard foam surface bed with similar results. The fitted
sheet showed an average pressure 42.1 mmHg and as the linen layers increased up to six, pressures
reached 56.3 mmHg, again putting the patient at risk for pressure injuries (Williamson 2009). The

Essay on The Analysis of the Transformation of Eliza
The play Pygmalion describes the process of the transformation of Eliza, who appears in three images
in the story: Eliza begins as a flower girl, then she transforms into a lady with noble accent and in
good manners, then an independent woman with self respect and dignity. By naming his drama
Pygmalion, Shaw reminds people of the ancient Pygmalion Myth. Pygmalion, a sculptor, makes a
beautiful statue and falls in love with his own creation. He prays that life may be granted to it. The
gods give him his wish. The statue becomes a living girl named Galatea. In Shaw s play, Eliza, the
heroine, is transformed from a flower girl into a graceful lady. This change is like that of a stone into a
statue of perfect beauty. But just as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In spite of the hard life, she s still full of hope and dreams for the future, as revealed by the decoration
on the wall in her shabby lodging and the daydreams she often has in her little piggery. She intends to
be a lady in a flower shop instead of selling at the corner of Tottenham Court Road, but is refused
because of her dreadful accent. The factor that changes her fate is that Eliza knows how to grasp
chances when they favor her. Overhearing Higgins boast that the professor can make her a duchess,
she immediately seizes the opportunity and makes a visit to Higgins. This is the turning point of her
life; that is, the beginning of her transformation. Without the independent character and the ability to
make right decisions as well as right choices, Eliza would have remained a poor flower girl all her life.
The transformation of Eliza into a lady includes changes in her dress, pronunciation and manners.
When she appears as a dainty and exquisitely clean young lady in a simple blue cotton kimono , she
astonishes everyone with her beauty. This is the first step of her transformation. In the next several
months, Eliza receives strict phonetic training. Only the material that suitable for the sculpture can be
made a masterpiece. Eliza is the right material. She has the most extraordinary quickness of ear and is
a genius in learning a language. So she learns well and makes great progress. Her quality

Essay about Stakeholders of the Offshore Wind Company
Stakeholders of the Offshore Wind Company A business s stakeholders are the people who are
affected by the actions of the business. In this case, the Offshore Wind Company (ltd). In this piece, I
am looking to investigate the importance of shareholders, their interests, environmental thoughts, and
their adverse to success. Stakeholders are very important in today s modern society, as they can hold
the key to the company s success. They take care of the financial issues, and decisions made by and
for the company. The six main stakeholders are Financiers, Pressure groups, Suppliers, Employees,
Owners, and, of course, the Local Community. Stakeholders can range from central ... Show more

A typical example would be environmental pressure groups, protesting against wind turbines on the
coast. This could be because the seabed would be disturbed and damaged, and the local fishing would
be disrupted. Suppliers like to be consulted beforehand also, as this gives them time to prepare the
produce so as its ready for the Offshore Wind Company when they want it. If it weren t ready when
the Company need it, they might look somewhere else for supplies, so the suppliers wouldn t get their
income capital. Local community could be against the wind turbines ruining the countryside and view.
This is why stakeholders like to be consulted before any big decisions are made. Success is also
another big issue for shareholders. For those such as owners, shareholders, employees, suppliers and
financiers it is incredibly important because if the Offshore Wind Company doesn t succeed, they don
t get paid. The employees would probably loose their jobs, the owners business would fold, along with
the shareholders loosing all their money, the suppliers wouldn t get paid back, and nor would the
financiers. It s a bit different in the case if Local community and pressure groups though, because it
goes a bit both ways.

Montag has a happy ending for himself at the end of the story. He finally found a group of people

by the group of people. The society showed that you would be abandoned if you were the one who
disobey the idea of the society. For Granny Lin, it is obvious that she is an abandon since the title of
the story has pointed her characteristic in the story, an extra. She is being abandoned at the beginning,
the middle part and the end of the story. All of the turning points in the story bring her to being
abandoned again. She has no capable in the society. She lost her job at the beginning of the story.

Concept Analysis Of Pain And Pain
Concept Analysis of Pain The most common reason that people seek medical care is pain, and pain is
the leading cause of disability (Peterson Bredow, 2013, p. 51; National Institute of Health, 2010). Pain
is such an important topic in healthcare that the United States congress identified 2000 to 2010 as the
Decade of Pain Control and Research (Brunner L. S., et al., 2010, p. 231). Unfortunatelly, patients are
reporting a small increase in satisfaction with the pain management while in the hospital (Bernhofer,
2011). Pain assessment and treatment can be complex since nurses do not have a tool to quantify it.
Pain is considered the fifth vital sign, however, we do not have numbers to guide our interventions.
Pain is a subjective expirience that cannot be shared easily. Since nurses spend more time with
patients in pain than any other healthcare provider, nurses must have a clear understanding of the
concept of pain (Brunner, et al., 2010). Concept analysis main objective is to clarify ideas, to enhance
critical thinking, and to promote communication (Rodgers Knafl, 2000). This paper will examine the
concept of pain using Wilson s Steps of Concept Analysis (Rodgers Knafl, 2000). Concept analysis are
particularly helpful in explaining ambiguous concepts (Rodgers Knafl, 2000). Pain is defined in
multiple ways. Also, pain has is associated with a lot of misconceptions. This concept analysis
objective is to bring clarity and to provide a deeper understanding of pain.

Easyjet s main competitors in the market are legacy carriers: Air France KLM, IAG, Alitalia,
Lufthansa Group and Air Berlin. The main structural advantages of the company against legacies are:
seat density, load factors, fleet, point to point vs. feeder, pensions/ crew costs and overheads. As
opposed to Easyjet, the legacy has to charge the double amount of Easyjet fare to get same revenue for
the aircraft. The cost advantage and the ability to offer affordable fares to the customers helps Easyjet
to grow further taking shares from the legacies and generate higher levels of profits. During one year,

Easyjet markets. Besides, Easyjet was ahead in the market by seat growth of 5.1% in the 2014

Questions On The Coat Of Arms Essay
Coat of Arms Christella So Centennial College Coat of Arms The Coat of Arms our group designed
includes what we think about nursing and the characteristics that a nurse should possess. From top to
bottom, we have a clock that shows a patient recovering after receiving nursing care. The shield is the
body and the core of our Coat of Arms, which is also our core value toward nursing what nursing
means to us and what nurses should possess. Above the shield, we have a nursing cap which is a
common symbol of nursing. In the shield, we have a stethoscope that is surrounded by many buildings
from different countries. Inside the stethoscope, we have a heart; two shaking hands and a vital sign.
We also added angel wings that show how people have typically thought of nursing in the past and
even now. Then below is the scale of justice, a quote from Jean Watson, and a dove which symbolizes
peace. Among all those symbols, I believe that the cities of the earth, the heart in the middle,
handshake, and the scale of justice most likely represents what nursing means to me and the
characteristics that nurses should have. Many well known buildings from different countries and a
stethoscope are shown in the middle. A stethoscope is rounded into a circle to represent the earth while
buildings represent all countries in the world we are living in. Good nurses have to view everyone
fairly and must avoid discriminating against people of different colours and origin. Nursing is a

Radio And Record Labels Essay
Radio and record labels have both come a long way since when they were first invented. Radio s came
from being a great source of entertainment among those who were able to afford it. It was a staple
within the household. Sometimes the entire family would gather around the radio at a particular time
and listen to the boxing match live. Record labels still work under the same concepts as they do today,
rather you like them or not, they have created artist and disputed many of the favorite hits that we
listen to today. Unfortunately, both are facing its own decline. Radio isn t as structured as it used to be.
Record companies are constantly battling the same forces that made them successful. Both industries
face major crisis if they are not willing to reinvent their platforms to a more stable format. So many
people have had their hand in the invention of the radio. So much that its development became
hampered by legal battles over patent rights to the various inventions. This all changed during WW1,
and the U.S Navy assumed responsibility for all relevant patents. This is why radio made a great
advancement during and after the first Word War. Before, radio was considered a blast of new
technology. Even though back then the radio only had a few channels available, and most stations had
terrible receivers. Today s radio receivers a far better, considering that the first ones were overlarge
and had problems with leaky batteries. In 1972, radios began to make some of their

Dealing with Mental Illness in Kay Redfield Jamison s An...
Is acceptance of mental illness the key to living a more fulfilled life?
I first became interested in bipolar or, manic depression a few years ago when somebody close to me
was diagnosed with it. I wanted to understand it better but found that the jargon and detached
observations of psychiatric theory and practice that you can find on the internet didn t really help me
to understand what people actually go through. Kay Redfield Jamison s An Unquiet Mind manages to
cut through all that to create a fiery, passionate, authentic account of the psychotic experience and
introduce you to that facts of the illness without you even realizing it. Kay Jamison s story is proof

It s at the very back of your mind, but fear never lets you suppose it. (P.22)
Another reason why people might not take medication is because it takes away not only the highs and
lows but the essence of peoples personalities, it leaves them enigmatic and slow. The moods you are
so used to having on a daily basis fade away until you are left feeling dull (p.79) This is especially
hard for people with manic depressive illness because there moods are very much part of their lives.
Many of the world s most creative people suffer from mental illness and they find that it is very hard
to go from being brilliant to average. When I was depressed, nothing came to me, and nothing came
out of me. When manic, or mildly so I would write a paper in a day, my ideas would flow. (p.114).
when you re forgetting the unbearable pain of depression the memories of seductive highs can easily
lure you back off your medication and into another costly episode.
It takes many people years and years to get used to the idea of having a mental illness but once they
find a treatment that is right for them and get used to being on it then there is every chance that they
can lead a normal, controllable life. As they say You have to know the rules to break them. People don
t always have to spend their whole life on lithium or at least not on such a high dose.

America In The World Chapter 1 Summary
The theme in chapters 19b and 21 is America in the World. The theme focuses on the influence of the
United States on world affairs and how their foreign policies and military actions have affected the
rest of the world.
It is shown in Roosevelt s Corollary because the corollary announces that the United States has the
right to intervene in foreign nations if the U.S sees that the country can not maintain order and
national sovereignty on their own. It was used in the Dominican Republic, when the U.S saw that it
couldn t maintain order with their crippling debt, so America intervened and assumed control of their
revenues. The Roosevelt Corollary was an addition to the Monroe Doctrine. The Monroe Doctrine that
was proclaimed in 1823 announces American dominance in the western hemisphere. The U.S stated
that there should be no further european colonies in the western hemisphere.
The theme is also shown in the event of the torpedoing of the Lusitania. In World War 1 the Germans
resulted to unrestricted submarine warfare to prevent trade with their enemy Great Britain. The
Lusitania containing American citizens and weapons was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

with France but they were greeted by 3 agents instead (aka the XYZ) and demanded a bribe before
they could see the French minister. When the news returned to the U.S and was released to the public,
Americans were outraged and wanted to declare war with France even though they were already

  • 2. How The Gospel of Luke Portrays A Model Of Social Justice... Luke s Gospel is a portrayal of Jesus as a model of social justice. Hence, the reader is empowered and influenced by the Gospel to be actively involved in social justice issues. The Catholic Church has sought to reach out to those in need, and Luke s Gospel demonstrates this through injustices that Jesus challenged. In addition, mental illness, which is a current social justice issue reflects and appeals to problems that Jesus faced and reacted to in his time. Luke s Gospel greatly emphasizes the social justice aspect of Christian living. Throughout the third book in the New Testament, the story and history of Jesus Christ is written, and Luke preserves the many sayings of Jesus warning that those with material possessions have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Catechism shows that; Society ensures social justice by providing the conditions that allow associations and individuals to obtain their due. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1928). In other words, social justice is linked to the common good and exercise of authority. The life and teachings of Jesus Christ call us to work for justice, peace and human rights. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus describes this mission in the following way: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To let the oppressed go free, To proclaim the year of the Lord s favour. (Luke 4: 18 19) As a result, the work for social justice is an integral mission of the Church. Catholics are inspired and sustained through work for a just society. Social Justice also comes with an understanding of respect for the human person. Respect for the human person proceeds by way of respect for the principle that everyone should look upon his neighbour as another self, above all bearing in mind his life and the means necessary for living it with dignity. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1931). Catholics conduct acts of social justice out of the Church s teachings that people are; Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. • 4. Does Janie Should Be Diagnosed As Asperger s Syndrome Essay Case Study According to the extensive amount of information provided in this case study about 6 year old Janie, I have come to the conclusion that Janie should be diagnosed as having a mild form of Autistic Spectrum Disorder formerly known as Asperger s syndrome. Under the Autistic Spectrum Disorder Asperger s syndrome is one of four pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) that all fall under the Autistic spectrum. (Dombeck, 2008).ASD is a neural development disorder that is rarely diagnosed before the age of three (Roddick, 2014).ASD causes impairments in social skills and communication in different levels (Roddick, 2014).Those with ASD that are able to function at a normal level usually fall towards the end of the autism spectrum near the disorder known as a milder form of autism, Asperger s. Janie displays a number of symptoms that are specifically common to ASD. One of the main symptoms being that Janie shows delays in motor developments such as walking and toilet training, however she has shown no language deficits or cognitive problems so far. This is extremely common in children with ASD (Asperger s syndrome). They often take longer to reach physical developmental milestones, but children with this syndrome usually are of average intelligence or in some cases, above intelligence. (Silberman, 2001).This discovery of cases with children having normal or above average IQ s led to the phrase that Asperger s is basically a high functioning form of autism, because ... Importance of Mother The Importance of the Presence of the Mother During the First Three Years Organized by Sheila Kippley (February 28, 2005) Purpose Mothers have told me that they have been influenced by those experts and writers who state that the presence of the mother during the early years is extremely important to their child s optimal development. This knowledge has helped them to make decisions that enable them to remain with their children or at least cut back on their hours away from their little ones. There are many different views on how to raise children, but this is not the place to have a discussion on parenting issues. A baby must have a mother, a mother who is mature enough to attend to its needs and provide so called object constancy for a minimum of three years... The mothering function is one of the most important of all human events but, unfortunately, one of the least appreciated or regarded by society. Harold Voth, M.D., Medical Times, November 1980. Let me once again emphasize that the natural transitions between sexual intercourse, pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and early childhood form a cohesive physiological basis for the development of maternal infant attachment as it gradually progresses from conception to weaning in the second or third year of life. No amount of technology will improve on this biologically determined pattern that was set in place by a personal Creator, nor can anything that is artificially produced fully replace the spiritual significance and the emotional satisfaction that these experiences can produce in a woman s life. Debra Evans, Heart Home, p. 133. In the first three years of life every human being undergoes yet a second birth, in which he is born as a psychological being possessing selfhood and separate identity. The quality of self an infant achieves in those crucial three years will profoundly affect all of his subsequent existence. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Annino 12 September 2017 The Importance of Being on Time Being late is becoming a more and more common trend among people of all walks of life, especially in the United States Army. Failure to be on time is completely unacceptable. Being late may cost the military money, and lead to a poor reputation of soldiers and their first line supervisors. There are many methods available to prevent being late as well as proper steps for soldiers to take if they are going to be late. • 11. Having Sealant Applied To Your Child s Teeth Essay What You Should Know About Having Sealant Applied To Your Child s Teeth It s important to teach your child good dental hygiene habits starting when the baby teeth first erupt. Establishing a pattern of regular dental visits and daily brushing will help protect your child s teeth for life. However, it may be difficult for your child to always brush effectively. That s where dental sealants come in. They help reduce the risk of developing cavities. The procedure is easy to endure, and it s certainly much less stressful and less expensive than getting a filling. Here s what you should know about this dental procedure. Dental Sealants Fill Pits The pits and grooves of your child s teeth are breeding grounds for bacteria because food gets stuck in them easily. If your child is not able to brush vigorously, the food may not get removed. Even if your child brushes very well, the bristles on the toothbrush may be to large to get down into the very small pits. A dental sealant is a type of liquid plastic the dentist applies to a tooth. It flows into all the grooves and pits, and then hardens. Your child s dentist examines each tooth after it emerges through the gum. It s possible the dentist will recommend sealing a baby tooth or a front tooth. It all depends on the shape and condition of your child s teeth. Another reason your dentist may wait to apply sealant until the molars come in is because by then your child is old enough to cooperate with the procedure. While it isn t painful, some cooperation is necessary since the tooth has to stay dry or the sealant won t adhere ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Basically, heat Transfers in three different modes: Conduction, Convection Radiation 1.6.1 Conduction: If there is a physical contact between any two substances or from one part of substance to another part which are in different temperatures then there exists conduction. 1.6.2 Convection: Convection occurs mainly in moving fluids. Here transfer of molecules in a fluid occurs resulted in heat transfer. It is of two types. As the flow caused by the buoyancy force, it is said to be natural convection and if it needs some external influences to transfer the heat it is said to be Forced convection. 1.6.3 Radiation: If the heat transfer occurs without requiring any medium, then it is said to be Radiation, a third mode of heat transfer. 1.7 Free convection or Natural ... It an important note Akhenaten does not accredit himself with the specifics only that the location was his choice as he looked to match specifications entrusted to him by Aten, with the self importance attributed to many previous braggart Pharaohs, Akhenaten does not do this. Now Akhenaten does take credit for the find of the specific location where no former religious taint or city it was founded, truly on a pure and untouched piece of land. Other tangible evidence is provided in the obvious reflection in art, architecture, building design, city planning, and religion at this time. Prior to Akhenaten s 4th year of reign he did things much as his father s had done before him, meaning building temples and statues in order to represent the Pharaohs grandness by his control of people in building these grand structures. • 14. The Optimization Problem Of Matlab Routines Relevant numerical techniques, which have been done with the help of MATLAB routines, are applied to solve the arising optimization problem and to find the optimum parameters of the TMD. For a given mass ratio, µ, one can assume different values of the frequency ratio, f, and for each frequency ratio assuming a range of damping factor ζ2 of the TMD and estimate the optimum parameters that minimize a certain desired output. Fig. 8 is an example of the numerical optimization conducted to estimate the optimal frequency ratio and damping factor of the TMD for two different mass ratios under wind loads modeled as white noise. The optimization is based on the minimization of the displacement of the primary structure. In this numerical optimization, the responses of the primary structure are normalized, which means that the response obtained with the TMD when attached to the structure is divided by the corresponding response obtained without the TMD. The optimal values of the frequency ratio and the damping factor of the TMD are written on the subfigures. It is shown that a TMD with 1% mass ratio can provide a significant reduction in the displacement response of the primary structure. The reduction in the displacement depends very much on the tuning frequency and the damping ratio of the TMD. By increasing the mass ratio from 1% to 5%, the displacement response of the primary structure is reduced. However, the TMD with 5% mass ratio is more robust to the changes in the frequency ... • 15. Leo Frank Trial Essay While Frank died maintaining his innocence, definitive proof of his innocence was never uncovered. Frank underwent an unjust trial and ultimately lost his life due to the racial prejudices and violence that enticed Atlanta during this time period. Atlanta felt threatened by outsiders after the Civil War and this was apparent during Frank s trial. Despite the lack of evidence against Frank, the people of Atlanta were quick to believe the guilt of a northern Jew. Leo Frank s story was spread widely after his death. Movies, books, and articles about the Frank case have caused the trial to gain further notoriety. The aftermath of Frank s case and ultimately his untimely death, show how racial tensions and the facilitation of fear towards outsiders can have detrimental consequences. People today can examine this case and see how race and notion of outsiders still plays a role in our court system today. Additionally, the role the media played in Frank s case sealed his fate to the masses after painting him as a deviant, and this practice of speaking to ones character is still used by the media during cases and trials today. Examining the effects the media plays on a case is an important practice that people living today should engage in. Sacco and Vanzetti s trial also garnered national attention through newspaper articles. Six years after their conviction, Sacco and Vanzetti gained international attention. Their defense lawyers also argued that the men were only convicted due to their anarchist beliefs and went on to contact Benito Mussolini who argued in defense of the men as well. Prejudice against anarchists was present during the time of this trial had a great impact on the outcome of the case and left a lasting impression of America. Another man ended up confessing to the murders, but Sacco and Vanzetti were continually denied a new trial. Just as in Frank s trial, the defense for Sacco and Vanzetti applied for clemency but did not receive it. Furthermore, a judge was able to deny their appeals and eventually this rule was rewritten in Massachusetts so judges no longer have this power. The fear of communism and prejudice against immigrants played a major role in this case and impacts people s lives ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Taylor born on March 20, 1865 considered the father of Scientific Management . He strongly campaigned for less human interaction and more machine driven production, even going on to say In the past the man has been first; in the future the system must be first (Worthy, 1959, p. 73). One of the driving factors for Taylor s scientific management was that he believed the industrial management of his day was run by individuals that had no professional amplitude Deming suggested that management could be formulated as an academic discipline, and that the best results would come from the partnership between a trained and qualified management and a cooperative and innovative workforce (Weisbord, 1987, p. 9). Taylorism became the first big management fad. Taylor s scientific management consisted of four principles (Weisbord, 1987): 1. Replace rule of thumb work methods with methods based on a scientific study of the tasks. 2. Scientifically select, train, and develop each employee rather than passively leaving them to train themselves. 3. Provide detailed instruction and supervision of each worker in the performance of that worker s discrete task. 4. When A Patient Is Admitted To The Hospital, The Nurse Needs When a patient is admitted to the hospital, the nurse needs to be aware of the frequent hospital acquired problems such as the development of pressure injuries and moisture acquired dermatitis which could cause poorer patient outcomes and an increase to expenses for the hospital. There are a wide variety of assessment tools nurses can use to group patients based on their risks for skin breakdown or the development of pressure injuries such as the Braden Scale, which includes but is not limited to how frequent the patient is wet which would potentiate skin breakdown. (Williamson 2009). The first part of the study conducted by Hill Rom, measured sacral pressures in mmHg with varying different linen configurations on a low air loss surface with the data averaged to include head of the bed elevations for zero, thirty, and forty five degrees. With just a fitted sheet, the average pressure measured was 35 mmHg. With the addition of just one quilted chux pad, the pressure measured increased to 41.7 mmHg. As more layers were added, the bed was up to six layers which produced a shocking increase in sacral pressure up to 52.2 mmHg. (Williamson 2009). This drastic increase in just sacral pressure alone puts patients at a significantly higher risk for developing a pressure injury so less layers of linen on the bed has been proven to show a better outcome for the patient. The study also gathered data for the pressures exerted on the sacrum on a standard foam surface bed with similar results. The fitted sheet showed an average pressure 42.1 mmHg and as the linen layers increased up to six, pressures reached 56.3 mmHg, again putting the patient at risk for pressure injuries (Williamson 2009). Concept Analysis Of Pain And Pain Concept Analysis of Pain The most common reason that people seek medical care is pain, and pain is the leading cause of disability (Peterson Bredow, 2013, p. 51; National Institute of Health, 2010). Pain is such an important topic in healthcare that the United States congress identified 2000 to 2010 as the Decade of Pain Control and Research (Brunner L. S., et al., 2010, p. 231). Unfortunatelly, patients are reporting a small increase in satisfaction with the pain management while in the hospital (Bernhofer, 2011). Pain assessment and treatment can be complex since nurses do not have a tool to quantify it. Pain is considered the fifth vital sign, however, we do not have numbers to guide our interventions. Pain is a subjective expirience that cannot be shared easily. Since nurses spend more time with patients in pain than any other healthcare provider, nurses must have a clear understanding of the concept of pain (Brunner, et al., 2010). Concept analysis main objective is to clarify ideas, to enhance critical thinking, and to promote communication (Rodgers Knafl, 2000). This paper will examine the concept of pain using Wilson s Steps of Concept Analysis (Rodgers Knafl, 2000).
