2. The Importance Of Natural Resources
In today s fast pace society, we often do not pay much attention to the amount of natural resources we
are consuming, and the limited supply of these resources that we will have in the future. The depletion
of natural resources is the consumption of a resource faster than it can be replenished. All human
beings depend on these natural resources for our basic needs. People often take for granted the
abundance of natural resources we have as of now, and use them at an unsustainable rate, putting
many of these resources on the verge of becoming depleted. It is reported that humans are using 30%
more resources than the Earth can replenish each year, thus leading to deforestation, degraded soils
and land, and polluted air and water. Our current world population is 7.2 billion and growing at a rapid
rate of about 1.14% per year, however the earth s natural resources are only sustainable for 2 billion at
the current demand. As populations grow, consumption increases at a faster rate than technology can
find new ways to produce natural resources, and the problem gradually gets worse. At the way humans
are living, we are using 2 3 times more of the earth s natural resources than what is sustainable. Our
ecological footprint is 1 ½ times the earth s ability to provide the resources needed to meet this level
of consumption. When humans need employment, food, or ways to raise their standard of living, they
often look to practices such as deforestation and burning of fossil fuels as easy

3. Criminology And Sociology And Criminology
Where the Two Meet
Criminology is where criminal justice and Sociology meet and come together. Sociology is a social
science where the study of the development, structure, and functioning of human society happen.
Criminology is also a social science that studies crime and criminal behavior. Sociologists, by
studying society and relationships, are able to determine the thoughts and actions of individuals or
criminals. Each science can relate to other sciences and Criminology relates to Psychology, Sociology
and more. Sociology and Criminology both contribute to society. Every day were faced with new and
bigger issues and as Sociologists, it is up to them to understand why and figure out the issues at hand

Another social issue that is a problem with in society today would be opinions. People are allowed to
have a difference of opinion. We are all able to believe different and not think the same and still live in
harmony. There needs to be an understanding and respect in difference of opinions. On the other hand,
Criminology is about the crime and criminals in society. It involves law enforcement and the criminal
justice system. Criminal justice and Criminology are related fields, but are not the same things.
Criminal justice focuses more on upholding social control and Criminology is the study of the crimes
and criminals. Whereas, both are just as important. Criminology, with the help of other social sciences,
go deep within the criminal and the crime to get to the bottom of what they are thinking, what has
made them do it, why they did it, what is next, and also how to stop it and how to prevent it from
happening again. Criminology also deals with issues in the field. Some of these issues involving
Criminology might be, capital punishment, what is illegal and what is not, sentencing, maintaining

4. Exploring and Unraveling Autism Essay
Autism Spectrum Disorder, known as ASD, is a range of complex neurodevelopment disorders,
characterized by social impairments, communication difficulties, and restricted, repetitive, and
stereotyped patterns of behavior. Autistic Disorder, referred to as autism or classical ASD, is the most
common and severe form of ASD. Other less severe conditions along the spectrum include Asperger s
Syndrome and Pervasive Development Disorder. Autism affects information processing in the brain by
altering how nerve cells and their synapses connect and organize. It is not completely understood as to
why this occurs. Autism has a strong genetic basis and in rare cases, it is strongly associated with
agents that cause birth defects. According to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1943, an Austrian American psychiatrist, Dr. Leo Kanner was one of the first to specialize in child
psychology and was credited with recognizing autism as its own unique mental disorder. Kanner
discussed his research based on a group of eleven children who all displayed similar conditions such
as social interaction difficulties, difficulty processing and adapting to changes, particularly good
memory, and exceeding sensitivity to sounds and other stimulants. Kanner used the term autism to
describe the main characteristics that all of the children he studied displayed little to no interest in
socializing with others. Lastly, Dr. Hans Asperger, a scientist and pediatrician in the late 1900 s, also
contributed research and multiple studies on children with autism. Dr. Asperger is best known in the
history of autism for defining Asperger s Syndrome. Asperger s Syndrome is a less severe condition
disorder along the spectrum. Asperger s Syndrome is characterized by significant difficulties in social
interaction, alongside restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. It differs from other
autism spectrum disorders by its relative preservation of cognitive development. For many years,
autism was rare, occurring in just five children per 100,000 live births. However, according to the

Delivery of Health Care I have had experience of dealing with transvestites in the emergency
department in Jackson Memorial Hospital. I recollect of a particular individual that frequently visited
the emergency room who is a transvestite. With every visit required a different outfit and it seemed as
if he was attention seeking. This individual did have some homosexual tendencies and always arrived
with fire rescue because of the exposure to masculine men. He always dressed in a variety of feminine
clothing and most occasions dressed with much of exaggeration such as a princess or cheerleader. The
entire time while receiving treatment in the emergency room, whether being a true emergent situation
or an act, the patient was constantly ridiculed and was the center of humorous attention. I understand
that some transvestites will expose themselves more than others with the possibility of having
psychological problems. Most transvestites hide their fetish with the probability of embarrassment if
revealed. Depending on the level of exposure will make a significant difference on the plan of care
and the medical staff involved. Conclusion Vulnerable populations like transvestites maintain their
solitude among themselves or hidden within private communities. Acceptance of this lifestyle is a
slow intergrading process within today s society. The

Apple Inc. v. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Apple Inc. v. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. was the first of a series of ongoing lawsuits between
Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics regarding the design of smartphones and tablet computers;
between them, the companies made more than half of smartphones sold worldwide as of July 2012.[1]
In the spring of 2011, Apple began litigating against Samsung in patent infringement suits, while
Apple and Motorola Mobility were already engaged in a patent war on several fronts.[2] Apple s

On Friday, August 31, 2012, The Tokyo District Court ruled that Samsung s Galaxy smartphones and

devices and servers.[21] The three judge panel in Japan also awarded legal costs to be reimbursed to
Samsung. Presiding Judge Tamotsu Shoji said: The defendant s products do not seem like they used
the same technology as the plaintiff s products so we turn down the complaints made by [Apple]. An
unnamed spokesperson for Samsung said: [We will] continue to offer highly innovative products to
consumers, and continue our contributions toward the mobile industry s development. [22]

Both St. Augustine s Confessions and Confucius s Analects are significant teachings that have
influenced people around the world not only in ancient times but in current history as well. Both
doctrines provide discussion on the ethical values of society back in the ancient time they were written
and lead us to discover similarities between the two beliefs. Although we find these connections, there
are significant differences between St. Augustine and Confucius s views on life and beliefs since they
were living in different time periods and environments. Their experiences are the influencers that have

In St. Augustine s Confessions, Augustine explains how his parents give up a lot for him and his
education. Although his father was acknowledged for his financial attribution to Augustine s
education, he never cared if his sons character would mature through the educational system. St.
Augustine s dad paid more than a richer man would pay for their son s education because he wanted to
provide Augustine with the proper education. (Confessions, II, 5). St. Augustine showed very little
respect toward his father but had a great deal of respect to his mother, Monica, since she was a
practicing Christian (II,60). In spite of his respect for her as a Christian, Augustine criticized his
mother for getting in the way of his sexual desire (II,8). But his father arranged his marriage and
encouraged him to have children (II,6). Unlike Confucius s teachings of remaining reverent to your
parent, Augustine openly criticized his family s wrong doings because God was his heart and only
truth (II,5).
The Analects and Confessions share different views in the belief about one s self and the truth.
Confucius understood that the Truth of life, Ren, was the heart of goodness (Confessions, II,5). Under
the teachings of Confucius, there was not one specific God, instead, Confucius focused on the man
himself and the way his character developed as he matured within the society. He believed It is Man
who is capable of broadening the Way. It

10. College Is The Third Greenest College Of America By...
Oberlin college is ranked as the 4th greenest college in America by popularmechanics.com, and it
makes sense. It incorporates sustainability into its curriculum, but it also uses brand new technologies,
such as solar panels and electric cars. Campuses that are more sustainable seem to have two main
characteristics. The first is they are often in more rural settings, and usually use this setting to their
advantage, by having big farms and creating nature reserves. The second is that they invest in more
environmentally friendly technology before other colleges. Most colleges in the United States are
attempting to become more sustainable, but many are taking the wrong approach to doing so. For
example, USC is making efforts towards becoming more sustainable, and while some of these efforts
are valid, many merely appear to be so that USC market itself as more sustainable. Colleges that put
an emphasis on using new, more sustainable technologies tend to be more sustainable than those that
simply try to spread the ideas of sustainability. While creating an environmentally conscious student
body is important, it may not be achievable everywhere.
Right now, the most sustainable schools are in rural environments. This becomes quite evident by
looking at popularmechanics.com s top 10 most sustainable schools ranking; almost all of the colleges
on this list have many acres of campus, located in the outskirts of a small town or city. Many of these

SIP and H323 are two known signalling protocol. SIP was founded by Internet Engineering Task
Force (IETF) while H323 was created by International Telecommunication Union (ITU). However,
SIP is the most one used because it is simple to implement and easy to connected. Due to its simple
implementation and high popularity, SIP is becoming attractive target for many different attackers.
In order to secure SIP against attackers, many security mechanisms have been suggested in the RFC
3261 such as HTTP Digest authentication , TLS, S/MIME. HTPP Digest allow to SIP server to
authenticate the client s identity, however it is discovered vulnerable to many attacks, Then other SIP
authentication are proposed. For more information about SIP authentication see the survey study.
Various attacks can be launched by attackers in SIP environment such as DoS attacks, toll fraud
attacks, fishing attacks and SPIT (Spam over IP Telephony). Dos aims to exhaust servers resources
(Memory, CPU..) and bandwidth. This attack can be caused by malformed message or by flooding
attack. In this work we concentrate on flooding attack. To secure SIP against flooding attacks many
works have been done and various approaches have been proposed. However, the problem still exists
and most of proposed approaches focused on detection of the attack without exploiting its results.

14. David Moser Why Chinese Is So Damn Hard
Comments on David Moser s Why Chinese is so damn hard
This essay is going to discuss the article Why Chinese is so damn hard by David Moser. In the article,
Moser employed a humorous tone to point out nine reasons why Chinese is challenging for adult
foreigners like himself to learn and why Chinese is difficult itself. In the following paragraphs, I am
focusing on one of the arguments Moser proposed Chinese s writing system just ain t very phonetic ,
and will present my opinions on the wordings he used and the presentation of the issue.
In his article, Moser stated Chinese not being phonetic is one of the reasons why westerners find it
difficult to learn it. He pointed out that in English, there are at least some correspondences between
sound and spelling. It helps non native speakers learning the language. However, in Chinese, save
those with radical and phonetic components, there are no clues at all for readers. The author also
demonstrated his experience of learning French, which is a phonetic language. He heard the word
amortisseur from the radio several times and he recognised it on a sign by because the sounds he
constructed when reading the word is the same. One reinforces the other, as he described the learning
process. Yet, when he was in Taiwan, he could not read the word on the sign as there were no
indications of sound, or Moser said phonetically mute. The example shows how it is easier to study
phonetic languages than the others. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

15. A Brief Note On Cyberbullying And Its Effects On Society

Cyberbullying
Three hundred likes on Instagram. A hundred retweets on Twitter. Ten million views on YouTube.
These are some common social media networks in our society used by all ages and sadly valued more
than they should be. The growth of technology use in young adults, mostly teenagers, has improved
extensively over the past few years resulting in new problems. Nearly 43% of kids have been bullied
online. 1 in 4 has had it happen more than once (www.DoSomething.org). Before internet bullying
was to the extent of picking on each other, name calling or fist fights, Cyberbullying takes bullying to
another level. This topic is of huge controversy in schools across the nation, political debates, the
president of the United States has even given speeches on it. Many people believe cyberbullying has
no long term affect on victims yet cyberbullying is number three on the charts for cause of deaths
among teenagers and adolescents (BullyingStatistics.org). Social Media can give teenagers and young
adults confidence that may not always be used in the best way. They can hide behind a screen and say
hurtful things they d never have the audacity to say to a person face to face because they re scared to.

global stage and led him to many opportunities oversea, including a position in Nightmare Before

winner of many film awards around the world (Purves). With its story based on E.T.A. Hoffmenn s

for. A dark twist to a gentle bedtime story, combined with clever use of color and distinctive style,

healthy (or not so healthy) functioning of your family. Support with examples. Based on the theories

19. The Apocalypse Of John s Revelation
The Apocalypse of John, otherwise known as the book of Revelation, is a climatic example of
apocalyptic literature, ultimately ending with the end of the earthly world and the second coming of
Christ. The final text dated around 95 CE, the author identifies himself as John in the first chapter of
the book, causing many to believe that John the Apostle, who allegedly wrote the book of John, also
authored this apocalyptic text; however, scholars agree that John the Apostle wrote no books of the
New Testament, and therefore the author of Revelation is another unknown John (Ehrman 2014, 367).
No matter the authorship, the book of Revelation poses many questions to biblical scholars, especially
questions on what the symbolic texts means in historical context, and how the text should be
interpreted by a contemporary, twenty first century audience. In chapters 1 3 of Revelation, John
depicts the setting in which he received the vision he is about to unveil. John was imprisoned on
Patmos, a Greek island, when an angel came to him with an apocalyptic vision. The angel instructed
him to write to seven churches about his vision, providing them information and urging them to heed
his prophecy. John write to these churches, Therefore write the things which you have seen, and the
things which are, and the things which will take place after these things (Revelation 1:19). John

Shade and by knowing this, we can understand better why Shade does feel empathetic towards
Kinbote.

A long time ago, during the reign of king Herod, there was a priest named Zechariah. His wife named

children because Elizabeth couldn t conceive, they were both very old.
Once when Zachariah was on duty he was chosen by lot to go into the temple and burn incense. When

Johns clothes were made of camel s hair and a leather belt. It sounds kind of gross that he ate locusts
but that s just what he had to eat. Wild honey from bees nests sounds pretty sweet and sugary. This is
all the bible tells us about what John looked like. He certainly looked much different than us today.
John The Baptists Work
In Luke 1: 16,17 the angel of the Lord says that John will bring the Israelites back to their God, he will
go before God in the spirit of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the
disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous. This will make ready a people prepared for the Lord. So
this shows what John work was. It was to get the people ready for the Lord. He did this by many ways
like baptism. He even baptized Jesus. This is the work that John was called to do.
Old Testament Prophecy
In the old testament Isaiah speaks about John, and how he will prepare the way for the Lord. He will
show the glory of the Lord, and all the people will see it. So does this mean that John is going to make
a difference? Certainly yes, it says that their faithfulness will be like the flowers of the field. John was
the right man for the Job, and he was going to succeed in preparing the way of the

23. Current Rate Of Technological Advancement And The Growth...
Businesses continually adapt to a changing environment to maintain their market position
(Appelbaum, Habashy, Malo, Shafiq, 2012; Biedenbacha Soumlderholma, 2008). Change is inevitable
considering the current rate of technological advancement and the growth in global competition
(Appelbaum et al., 2012; Armenakis Harris, 2009; By, 2007). Increasing competition and the need for
strategic flexibility and globalization is affecting almost every organization today, regardless of size,
market, focus, and so on (Jaros, 2010).
Change is a process of transitioning from one approach to another (Parsley Corrigan, 1994) and can be
involved because of people s attitudes and behavior (Goodwyn, 1996). Change is difficult to conceive

The procurement process may lead to determining the amount of change management leadership. The

Communication
The organization affected by the change is the target of effective change communication. Many
organizations establish a communication plan to alert the internal staff and external stakeholders of a
pending change to operations. Fox begins a technology change at the senior executive level with the
development of the business strategy and the funding future actions. As the project commences, a
development team containing members of engineering, operations, and production meeting to develop
the project specification and assure the technology meets the requirements. The production and
operations organization communicate with their staff to ensure the conceptual change will meet each
organization s goals. Eventually, operations and production agents of change are enlisted to begin
selling the pending change to the members of the staff by developing operating procedures.
Eventually, the implementation of the technology is complete, and the training and testing by
operations are determined. The communication of the pending implementation begins, and the change
begins.

25. Analysis Of Fun Home By Alison Bechdel
Analytical Essay on Fun Home By: Alison Bechdel Even though a lot of thing events that happened to
Bechdel was sad, dark, or scary she manages to use a very witty tone throughout the story reflecting
on her personality. She believes dark events are not central to one s life. She uses this tone as oppose
to an angry tone because she never realized her family was any different until she was compared it to
others. This strongly classifies Bechdel in the optimistic category of personalities. The tone of this
novel can strike many people as hard to determine or understand. One of the best things about this
novel is the consistency that Bechdel creates from her earliest childhood memories all the way until
the ending of the book. Tone is known to illustrate the underlying feelings of the author. What is also
very striking is Bechdel s lack of emotion when any surprising event happens to her. What most tend
to remember is when Mr. Bechdel s death is announced to Bechdel and how she responds to the news.
Speaking normally, or what most would refer to as normal is to have some kind of emotional
breakthrough when finding out their loved one has passed in a tragic accident. Is he dead? (Bechdel
81). In these three words Bechdel demonstrates her inability to fit into the mere normal category of
reactions and blows the audience away. Bechdel explains how she cried for about two minutes to her
girlfriend at the time and that was the most of mourning she did at all. Using the witty

28. The Composition and Publication History of Samuel T....
The Myth of Fragmentation The Composition and Publication History of Samuel T. Coleridge s Kubla
Khan
Although the exact date remains unknown, it is believed that Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote his poem
Kubla Khan sometime in the fall of 1797 and began revisions of it in the early spring of 1798.
Interestingly, although no original manuscript has been found, the Crewe Manuscript of Kubla Khan
was discovered in 1934. Currently, the Crewe Manuscript is the earliest know version of Kubla Khan
and is believed to have been written around 1810. After Lord Byron s zealous response to Kubla
Khan, Coleridge published the poem for the first time in May of 1816 under Byron s publisher John
Murray. While the poem was initially bound with two of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Coleridge firmly believed that Kubla Khan was an incomplete poem, and therefore, spent his entire
life continually revising and republishing it.
During the time that Coleridge composed Kubla Khan, biographer Richard Holmes documents that
Coleridge must have been producing something like fifty lines of blank verse a day, and a tremendous
sense of liberation cam over him. In the late 1790s, Coleridge resided in the Quantock Hills of
Somerset near his close friend and fellow poet William Wordsworth. Holmes argues that,
it was some time during this first fortnight in October 1797 that he probably went for a long solitary
walk along the coast to Lynton, exhausted from his labours, and, taken ill on his return journey,
stopped off at Ash Farm above Culborne Church, where he wrote Kubla Khan.
After writing his first draft of Kubla Khan, Coleridge was unable to finish the poem to his liking, and
consequently, dismissed it as an incomplete fragment. On October 14th, 1797, Coleridge wrote a letter
to his friend John Thelwall, stating,
my mind feels as if it ached to behold know something great something one indivisible and it is only
in the faith of this that rocks or waterfalls, mountains or caverns give me the sense of sublimity or
majesty!
For the remainder of his life, Coleridge believed that he was unable to aptly reproduce this sense of
sublimity or majesty.

29. Persuasive Essay On Legalization Of Marijuana
Marijuana or cannabis has many names, and more specific names can give you information about a
specific strain of marijuana such as blue dream and Sour Diesel. In most cases when speaking about
marijuana, generally it is often referred to one of its more vague names or slang, such a pot, ganja,
Mary Jane, Etc. Many people around the United States know about marijuana and also the risk and
rewards that come with it. Some states and cities in the US have legalized and regulated this plant
which also helps fuel those economies. Places such as Colorado and Washington state have benefited
from the regulations on the plants, but this may also lead other states or cities to adopt similar laws
and regulations for marijuana. This paper will analyze the benefits of legalizing and regulating
marijuana everywhere in the US.
Marijuana use in the United States can be dated back to the 17th century. At this time farmers were
encouraged to grow marijuana or hemp at the time for the plant weaving capabilities(PBS). The plan
has been known for its use to make ropes, clothing, or even paper from it. It was not until after the
Civil War that the domestic production of marijuana increase which may also have lead to the plant
becoming a popular ingredient and many medicinal products at the time(PBS). Before the 1930s
marijuana had been legal and used in medicinal products. In the early 1900s the Mexican revolution

physical. I decided to write my paper based off Stanley Kubrick s film Full Metal Jacket starring
Matthew Modine, Adam Baldwin, Vincent D Onofrio, Lee Ermey, Dorian Harewood, Arliss Howard,
Kevyn Howard, and Ed O Ross. Full Metal Jacket is a film that follows different recruits from basic
school at Marine Cops Recruit Depot Parris Island to the battle fields of Vietnam. The film starts off in
the barber shop on Parris Island as the new recruits get the heads shaved. The film then changes
scenes and continues with all the recruits standing in their barracks being addressed by the Drill
Instructor Gunny Hartman. Gunny Hartman tells the young recruits that if they are lucky enough to
finish his 13 week training, they will leave his island becoming a weapon, ministers of death praying
for war. Gunny Hartman continues to address his new recruits in more of a bullying concept telling
them that until that day they are pukes, lowest forms of life on earth, and that they are not even human
beings. After Gunny Hartman finished addressing the recruits he then turned his attention to singling
out several of the recruit s one being Private Lawrence. Gunny Hartman tell Private Lawrence that he
did not like his name and that his new name was Private Pyle. Private Pyle is a young man who

Popular opinion credits media with great power to shape not only what the average individual thinks
about, but also how they think about those subjects. This paper examines research in the fields of
Political Science, Psychology, Economics, and Communications to determine what, if any, effect
media has on American politics. An individual s perception of what is important is influenced by the

Regardless of the methodology used, studies support the finding that the more prominent an issue is in
the media, the higher the perceived level of importance by the general public. Thus, the subtle
influence of public opinion toward a candidate or platform can be achieved by increased coverage of
topics where the candidate has succeeded (or failed). The candidate need not be directly named in the
coverage for the perception of their ability to be effected. Mention of a subject in the media on a daily
basis over a period of a month can be more powerful than one urgently worded message. Historical
Overview In the early 1900 s, scholars discounted the influence media had on an individual s political
choices as being minimal (Entman, 1989). The primary method for media contact during this time was
newspapers and magazines, and the presentation of news was primarily confined to clearly defined
presentation of fact or opinion. Technology was minimal, so the time between an event s occurrence
and the media s coverage reaching an individual could range from days to months, depending on
distance and available delivery methods. Over the years, communication techniques have become
