Safety is the most important factor in designing a process system. Some undesired conditions might happen leading to damage in a system. Control systems might be installed to prevent such conditions, but a second safety device is also needed. One kind of safety device which is commonly used in the processing industry is the relief valve. A relief valve is a type of valve to control or limit the pressure in a system by allowing the pressurised fluid to flow out from the system.
In the hydrocarbon processing and production industry, gas is compressed for transportation to consuming markets and for use in processing operations. This presentation is about the construction and operation of compressors.
In this presentation you will learn about the construction and operation of centrifugal compressors.

Performance analysis of ic engine using supercharger and turbocharger a revieweSAT Journals
Abstract
There are many inventions aimed at increasing the performance of IC engines. So most engines nowdays are employed with
turbocharger and supercharger. It is known that the power outputs of an engine increases with the increase in amount of air or
mixture in the cylinder and supercharger plays an important role in increasing the amount or air. Turbochargers are used
throughout the automotive industry as they can enhance the output of an internal combustion (IC) engine without the need to
increase its cylinder capacity. The emphasis today is to provide a feasible engineering solution to manufacturing economics and
“Greener” road vehicles. It is because of these reasons that superchargers and turbochargers are now becoming more and more
popular in automobile applications. The aim of this paper is to provide a review on the techniques used in supercharging and
turbocharging to increase the engine output and reduce the exhaust emission levels.

Turbojets can be highly efficient for supersonic aircraft. Turbojets have poor efficiency at low vehicle speeds, which limits their usefulness in vehicles other than aircraft. Turbojet engines have been used in isolated cases to power vehicles other than aircraft, typically for attempts on land speed records.
Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

3. Introduction
A Super charger is basically an air compressor used for
forced induction of an internal combustion engine. It does
the same work as that of a compressor, i.e. it compresses
the air being delivered to the combustion chamber of an
engine.
The greater mass flow rate provide more oxygen to support
combustion than would be available in naturally aspirated
engine, which allows more fuel to be provided and more
work to be done per cycle, increasing the power output of
the engine.
Thus a supercharger is extra equipment provided in an
engine so as to boost the capacity and torque of an engine.
4.
5. Why Supercharger?
Increases the power of an engine.
A supercharger spinning at 50000 rpm translates to a boost
of about six to nine pounds per square inch(psi).
Increases the torque produced.
An efficiently working engine with supercharger can
achieve the same speed in one third of the time taken by
the same engine without supercharger.
Necessary in airplanes and jets as they have less oxygen at
the altitudes. So they provide sufficient amount of air by
compressing it to a higher pressure. And ensures complete
combustion.
8. Types of Supercharger Used
Roots Supercharger
Twin-Screw Supercharger
Centrifugal Supercharger
9. Roots Supercharger
It consist of two meshing lobes that are fitted on two
parallel shafts. Those lobes resembles to a lobe gear that are
in continuous mesh. Both the lobes are meshed in such a
manner that the air packets between those lobes and the
side walls goes on decreasing as air moves from fill side to
the discharge side. Thus the passing air gets squeezed.
As the meshing lobes spin, air trapped in the pockets
between the lobes is carried between the fill side and the
discharge side & large quantity of air moves into the intake
manifold and “stack up” to create positive pressure. This
pressurized air is received at the discharge side.
10.
11. Twin-Screw Supercharger
Twin- Screw Supercharger consists of two meshing
lobes that resembles a set of worm gear. The two gears
meshing in such a way that the air pockets between
them goes on decreasing as air moves ahead.
It operates by pulling the air through a pair of meshing
lobes that resembles a set of worm gears. The rotors
have a conical taper, which means the air pocket
decrease in size as air moves from fill side to the
discharge side. Thus a twin screw supercharger
compresses the air inside the rotor housing.
12.
13. Centrifugal Supercharger
Centrifugal supercharger consist of an impeller with several
blades that rotate at a very high speed at around 50000
rpm. This impeller throws the air outside due to centrifugal
force. It also consist of a diffuser which exchanges the speed
for high pressure.
As the air is drawn in the hub of the impeller, centrifugal
forces causes it to radiate outward. The air leaves the
impeller at high speed, but low pressure. A diffuser
converts the high speed, low pressure air to low-speed,
high pressure air. Thus pressurized air is received.
14.
15. Supercharger over
Turbocharger
Superchargers have no lag time because they are driven directly
by the crankshaft, whereas Turbocharger suffers lag because it
take a few moments before the exhaust gases reaches the velocity
that is sufficient to drive the impeller/turbine.
Installing a turbocharger requires extension modification of the
exhaust system, but supercharger can be bolted to the top or side
of the engine, that makes them cheaper to install and easier to
service and maintain.
No shutdown procedure is requires with supercharger as they are
not lubricated by engine oil, so they can be shutdown normally.
Whereas turbochargers must idle for about 30 seconds or so
prior to shutdown so the lubricating oil has a chance to cool
down.
16. Conclusion
Superchargers are the most cost-efficient way to
increase horsepower.
Superchargers can result in power increase of 50 to
100 percent, making them great for racing, towing
heavy loads or just adding excitement to typical
driving experience.
It is a must use component in the airplanes.
As supercharger ensures complete combustion, it
greatly reduces the pollution problem.
