Boiler Efficiency Improvement through Analysis of Lossesijsrd.com
Thermal is the main source for power generation in India. The percentage of thermal power generation as compare to other sources is 65 %. The main objective of thermal power plant is to fulfill the energy demands of the market and to achieve these demands; plant requires technical availability with the parts reliability and maintenance strategy. This paper deals with the determination of current operating efficiency of Boiler and calculates major losses for Vindhyachal Super thermal power plant (India) of 210 MW units. Then identify the causes of performance degradation. Also find the major causes of heat losses by Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and recommends its appropriate strategy to reduce major losses. The aim of performance monitoring is continuous evaluation of degradation i.e. decrease in performance of the steam boiler. These data enable additional information which is helpful in problem identification, improvement of boiler performance and making economic decisions about maintenance schedule.
This ppt is on summer internship at NTPC Badarpur also known as BTPS. NTPC is India's largest power provider and a Maharatna Company, while Badarpur Plant is a thermal coal fired power plant. It is one of the Asia's oldest one. This ppt highlight's working and utilization of various facilities at plant and the explanation of modified rankine cycle.
Steam turbines and its associated systems(ntpc ramagundam)abdul mohammad
Steam turbine is an excellent prime mover to convert heat energy of steam to mechanical energy. Of all heat engines and prime movers the steam turbine is nearest to the ideal and it is widely used in power plants and in all industries where power is needed for process.
In power generation mostly steam turbine is used because of its greater thermal efficiency and higher power-to-weight ratio. Because the turbine generates rotary motion, it is particularly suited to be used to drive an electrical generator – about 80% of all electricity generation in the world is by use of steam turbines.
Rotor is the heart of the steam turbine and it affects the efficiency of the steam turbine. In this project we have mainly discussed about the working process of a steam turbine. The thermal efficiency of a steam turbine is much higher than that of a steam engine.
CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.
Sachpazis:Terzaghi Bearing Capacity Estimation in simple terms with Calculati...Dr.Costas Sachpazis
Terzaghi's soil bearing capacity theory, developed by Karl Terzaghi, is a fundamental principle in geotechnical engineering used to determine the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. This theory provides a method to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil, which is the maximum load per unit area that the soil can support without undergoing shear failure. The Calculation HTML Code included.
Event Management System Vb Net Project Report.pdfKamal Acharya
In present era, the scopes of information technology growing with a very fast .We do not see any are untouched from this industry. The scope of information technology has become wider includes: Business and industry. Household Business, Communication, Education, Entertainment, Science, Medicine, Engineering, Distance Learning, Weather Forecasting. Carrier Searching and so on.
My project named “Event Management System” is software that store and maintained all events coordinated in college. It also helpful to print related reports. My project will help to record the events coordinated by faculties with their Name, Event subject, date & details in an efficient & effective ways.
In my system we have to make a system by which a user can record all events coordinated by a particular faculty. In our proposed system some more featured are added which differs it from the existing system such as security.

•The function of coal handling plant is automatic feeding of coal to the boiler
• A thermal power plant burns enormous amounts of coal.
•A 200MW plant may require around 2000 tons of coal daily.
9. Pulverizing plant
In modern thermal power plant , coal is pulverized i.e. ground to dust
like size and carried to the furnace in a stream of hot air.
Pulverizing is done in pulverizing mill.
Pulverizing mill is further classified in three parts:
Contact mill
Ball mill
Impact mill
9
11. Turbine
A turbine is a rotary mechanical device that
extracts energy from a fluid flow and converts
it into useful work.
It consists one moving part called a rotor
assembly.
Steam turbines are used for the generation of
electricity in thermal power plants.
In thermal power plant turbine is sub divided
in three parts:
HPT
IPT
LPT
11
12. Generator
An electric generator is a device that
converts mechanical energy to electrical
energy.
It is based upon the principle of
electromagnetic induction.
the magnitude of EMF generates by generator
is given by:
E=4.44φFN volts
Generators provide nearly all of the power
for electric power grids.
12
14. Ash handling plant
The percentage of ash in coal varies from 5% in good quality coal to about 40% in
poor quality coal.
Power plants generally use poor quality of coal , thus amount of ash produced by it
is pretty large.
A modern 2000MW plant produces about 5000 tons of ash daily.
