In our society, we constantly are divided between a dominant group and an inferior
group, whether it is by class, race, gender, sexuality, and so forth. Many people
have been a victim of injustices and prejudism unless they are a part of what is
known as the dominant group. There are a few theoriest who have used their
platform (which they had to work hard for) to discuss important social issues. Two
of the few are William Edward Burghardt (W.E.B) Du bois and Dorothy E. Smith.
Although they faced different challenges and have faced different forms of

the book, The Things They Carried, we can take a look at many war stories that Tim

Anyone who desires to make a change in their life can do so, provided that they are
willing to risk it all. The film The Wolf of Wall Street is centered on the life of
stockbroker and founder of the firm Statton Oakmont, Jordan Belfort. Belfort is the
son of two hardworking accountants and at a young age, lands an entry level job at
a top firm on Wall Street. When the firm is forced to close, Belfort settles for a new,
lesser job at an investment firm in Long Island and very easily utilizes his sales
skills to sell the worst stocks, penny stocks, to the perceived worst clientele, middle
class Americans. Belfort soon moves on from this firm and founds Statton Oakmont,
which explodes into a prominent firm that makes a huge fortune by defrauding...
Though his possessions were luxurious and plentiful, he loses everything as his
empire spins out of control, ending up in jail and possession less. Though Belfort
had bad intentions in his work life, his greed and selfishness were most evident in
a scene in the film where he endangers the lives of his friends and wife, demanding
to sail to Monaco though the captain advised against it due to rough chop. Belfort
slyly convinces all on board to sail despite the danger in order to save a fraction of
his riches in a Swiss bank, and consequently his yacht capsizes and he loses his
prized possessions, nearly killing himself and his loved ones. After being rescued by
the Italian Navy, Jordan finally realizes that he needs to reform his life if he wants to
live much longer, and states You wanna sign from God, after all this, I finally got the
message. . Jordan and Lot are identical in terms of poor intentions leading them from
lives of riches to ones of nothingness, while conversely Abraham a life of nothingness
to one full of divine fortune, further supporting that intentions undoubtedly connect
