at his excavation at Roman Verulamiun (St. Albans), north of London. While there

Here begins the Reverend s inner turmoil. With scrutiny, he looks at himself and
tries to figure out which way to go. Should he continue with what he is doing and
listen to Judge Danforth or should he listen to his conscience? He does try a feeble
attempt to talk to Danforth and explain how the unjust the court actions are, but
again, his inner struggle pulls him back to a more moderate stand. Hale then
decides to persuade the wrongly accused to confess witchcraft. At least this will
save them from death by hanging. He preaches perjury to the people, even though

sadness because of his struggle with himself. Not only does Hale question himself,
and Danforth, but he questions his religion. Near the end of Act IV, Hale tells
Elizabeth that following religion is not worth it if religion can justify the death of
so many innocent people without credible evidence. This is the ultimate reproach,
and Hale ends up leaving after the hangings, with the weight of 19 innocent people
(including the good names of Rebecca Nurse, Martha Corey and John Proctor,)

girls who come in the store. The three girls are wearing beach attire, one is smaller
and a bit more chubby than the other two, one is tall with a skinny body and long
face, and for the last girl, he says that she looks as though she is the queen of the
group. He eventually changes his judgement of the girls and tries to be sympathetic
of them. He watches them as they make their way through the supermarket to get

In his book, Ordinary Resurrections: Children in the Years of Hope, Jonathan Kozol
pulls back the veil and provides readers with a glimpse of the harsh conditions and
unrelenting hope that exists in a community located in the South Bronx called Mott
Haven. Mr. Kozol provides his own socially conscious and very informative view of
the issues facing the children and educators in this poverty ravaged neighborhood.

Kozol describes an intimate conversation with a group of children in the sanctuary of
St. Ann s in which several of the children reveal that they miss their fathers who are
in prison. One of the children, Elio, even fibs about his father coming home the
following week. Later he admits that this is not true but will not admit where his

During his time in the Mott Haven community, Kozol, at times, served as a father
figure for the children who yearn to share what is in their hearts with their own
fathers. Kozol eloquently describes his role, I once told another man I know, who

Rough estimates suggest that about 27,000 juveniles were prosecuted in criminal
court in 1996, but this does not include adolescents who are under 18 but who are
above the age of juvenile court jurisdiction in their state. Some estimates place this
figure at about 180,000 per year. In other words, by one mechanism or another,
more than 200,000 individuals under the age of 18 are prosecuted in criminal court
each year. There are three trends in the data worth noting. First, the proportion of

It was such a joy to be able to watch An Immigrant Journey . Everyone that was
involved in the play in any way, did a fantastic job on creating the story and making
the story much more believable for audience members. I thought the cast did a
fantastic job of condensing down over 125 hours of research material, into a 50
minute show, which had to be incredibly challenging. The cast of An Immigrant
Journey did a good job on effectively creating the stories, and making the stories

Ancient Greece Created some of the most beautiful pieces of literature to come out
of the middle ages that would eventually create classic story arcs and the molds of
what we would eventually call heroes and villains. Works like the Odyssey created

literature is the Lysistrata which could be argued to be a feminist play that sought
to empower women even if it was filled comedic breaks be it a scene full of men

Helen Oyeyemi s novel Boy, Snow, Bird deals with tendentious issues such as abuse,
race, beauty, and mother daughter relationships. Many of these issues are blatantly
illustrated throughout this story between different characters. Often more than one
relationship deals with each of these issues, and most of these relationships deal with
more than one issue at a time. That being said, some of the relationships deal with
their issues and themes in a much more subtle way than others. One relationshipin
particular dealswith issue very subtly, Charlie and Boy s. Charlie and Boy grew up
together in the same town, and he even asked her to prom, wrote to her, toke her to
see fireworks (Oyeyemi 7 9). The two of them formed an unspoken sporadic
romance. The relationship between Charlie and Boy acts as a window into the circle
of abuse and abandonment, builds a foundation of feigning a position of power, and
connects to the theme of beauty.
The circle of abuse and abandonment stands out as one of the prominent themes
throughout Boy, Snow, Bird. In fact, many of the relationships throughout this book
address this issue both directly or indirectly. Many of the mother daughter
relationships throughout this book remain blatant examples; Boy sending Snow
away, Frank allowing Boy to think all her life that her mother left her, Frank s
girlfriend leaving Boy alone with the Rat Catcher, even Boy running away, all of these

One of the most controversial topics being discussed in today s society is the concept
of reproductive rights. According to the Salem Press Encyclopedia, reproductive
rights provide individuals with the freedom to make sexual and reproductive

Throughout Korea s history, there are many instances in which lead to a cultural
exchange between the Korean people and foreigners. This exchange is what leads to
the trans nationalistic nature of Korea. The biggest occurrence that led to
transnationalism along with a struggle in transnational identity is that of the Japanese
Colonial Occupation over Koreafrom 1910 1945. This occupation of Korea was not
just so Japan can follow the colonizing efforts of western governments, but also the
complete assimilation of the Korean people. This assimilation ideology was called
Naisen Ittai and is known as the unification of the Japanese and Korean people.
Though, this mainly meant the creation and enforcement of rules or policies to
slowly turn the Korean populace into becoming as Japanese as they could. This
Naisen Ittai implemented by the Japanese government lead to the cultural and self
identity struggles many Koreans obtained while trying to balance the notion of
becoming Japanese while retaining their Korean heritage. However, some Koreans
did not struggle at all with this notion, as some embraced the Japanese assimilation,

repetitions, blood, sweat, and tears all become worth it.
We are the Lowell Red Devils, and with that name, we carry proud alumni that came
before us. We were not always so memorable in the cheerleading world though. This

troubled feelings towards another object or person; it can also cause more fuel to
the fire in any situation. Since Hitler would be in the wrong as a dictator, it would
make sense to confront him with my feelings about his involvement. Instead, I
might just take my anger out on someone that is around me and probably hurt their
feelings. I know that it is not the best way to vent my rage, but I am being honest if
I were put in that situation. Even if I decided to kill Hitler, I would be very
remorseful, and I would not know how to clear my conscience. Killing someone s
child is a bad deed, but killing to save millions will make someone have a fickle
