Personal Essay Examples For High School
Writing an essay on the topic "Personal Essay Examples For High School" can be a challenging
yet rewarding task. It requires a delicate balance between introspection and the ability to convey
personal experiences effectively. The difficulty lies in the need to provide genuine insights into
one's life while adhering to the structural and stylistic conventions of a high school essay.
Firstly, there's the challenge of selecting appropriate personal experiences to share. High school is
a time of significant personal growth, and choosing the right anecdotes that not only reflect one's
character but also resonate with the intended audience can be a daunting task. Moreover, finding
a unique angle or perspective to set the essay apart from others can add an extra layer of
complexity.
The writing process itself demands a thoughtful approach to language and tone. Striking the
right balance between being authentic and maintaining a formal writing style is crucial. The
challenge is to articulate personal experiences in a way that engages the reader emotionally while
adhering to the conventions of academic writing.
Structuring the essay is another hurdle. Crafting a compelling introduction, developing a
coherent narrative in the body paragraphs, and creating a meaningful conclusion—all while
adhering to the guidelines of a high school essay—requires careful planning and execution.
Balancing the personal and the academic aspects can be a delicate act.
Additionally, revising and editing are essential steps in the essay-writing process. Ensuring
clarity, coherence, and grammatical correctness can be time-consuming but is crucial to the
overall quality of the essay.
In conclusion, writing a personal essay on the topic of high school experiences demands a skillful
blend of self-reflection, storytelling, and adherence to academic conventions. Despite its
challenges, the process can be a valuable opportunity for personal growth and expression.

Implementation Of Six Sigma Practices
Implementation of Six Sigma throughout 3M worldwide, presents extensive benefits
to the organization. The most important element is the initiative is supported and
motivated beginning with the CEO. (Schroeder, R., Goldstein, S; 2013) the top five
benefits are:
Constant improvements to all areas and processes worldwide,
Conduct work on the most important projects that will increase sales, cash flow while
satisfying customers,
The Six Sigma practices and methodologies of one system strengthen
communications, information sharing, acceleration of projects and completion dates,
implementing accurate current data information, subsequently useable historically in
the future.
Above all stakeholders, worldwide employees, shareholders and customers benefit.
Costs associated for 3M implementing Six Sigma accumulate first establishing time
for training and retaining Black Belts, which includes all the executives, then training
of managers and employees. These costs will be measured against the results of
implementing Six Sigma. Next, the Super Y s of improving process outputs,
conducting continuous improvements and entitlements for true potential of
successes and opportunities.
Furthermore, risks, most significantly are external from the economic environment of
global markets ensuring timely deliveries of products to global markets. Control
planning in spite of disruptions will be monitored and maintained enabling the

A Brief Note On Animal Endangerment And Vulnerability
In this essay I shall be looking at a few practitioners consisting of Illustrators, painters
and film makers; each create awareness in their own unique and distinguishable form
for the subject of animal endangerment and vulnerability. I shall also be studying
which socially engaging visual practice is most effective and why.
It is thought that scientists have discovered only 17.5 million species on this world;
which seems quite a significant amount but when also considering that it s only
thought that 20% of them are estimated to live, it seems like nothing.
Unfortunately, not every single animal and organism can be protected from such
problems as deforestation, climate change, illegal wildlife trading, pollution, oil
and gas development. One example would be forests cover 31% of the land area
on our planet; they produce vital oxygen and provide homes for people and
wildlife. Many of the worlds most threatened and endangered animals live in the
forests, and 1.6 million people rely on the benefits the forests offer (World
Wildlife, 2015). Animal endangerment is a subject we are all very aware of but the
majority of us fall into the sad category of not actually doing anything about it.
Many groups and organisations and committed to helping keep these animals
protected; although this alone has a massive impact on wildlife as donations not
only keep animals safe but you can actually adopt and take care of one. To protect
and conserve nature sounds like it should be one of

someone to take care of your child during the day can be a tough decision, and you
will most likely be deciding between a daycare center and home daycare. Are you
aware of what the major differences are between these two options? By

the name implies, it is a service that is run out of someone s home. You will often

with their child during the day and are looking to make some extra money by taking
care of another child at the same
Literary Comparison Between Wulf And Eadwacer
Wulf and Eadwacer is a poem of great mystery to scholars because of its unknown
meaning and where it is found in writing. It is one of the poems written within the
Exeter Book. The Exeter Book was written in about the tenth century and is filled
with both historical poems and riddle poems. Part of the mystery of the meaning of
Wulf of Eadwacer comes from where it is placed within the Exeter Book. The poem
lies at the very end of the historical poems, which are poems that focus on historic
events and people, and at the very beginning of the riddle poems, which are poems
that were told with a hidden answer in order to pass the time. Because of this,
scholars argue over which section the poem belongs to and, with this, how to interpret
the meaning. I believe... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Signy never truly loved Siggeir, she never even wanted to live with him. In The
Saga of the Volsungs, Signy says: I do not wish to go away with Siggeir, nor do
my thoughts laugh with him. I know through my foresight and that special ability
found in our family that if the marriage contract is not quickly dissolved, this union
will bring us much misery. Signy does not trust Siggeir and only sees him as a way
to bring misery on herself and her family. The fact that Signy never loved her
husband adds evidence to the fact that she is the answer to the riddle. The last
connection we can make is that Signy did give her sons by Siggeir to Sigmund.
She gave them to Sigmund so that he would have a companion during his time as
an outlaw. She also wanted someone to aide Sigmund when he did come back and
take revenge on Siggeir for the deaths of their family members. Signy s children
were cursed, however, because they were weak children. The curse came because
once Sigmund realized they were weak, Signy had given him permission to kill them
because they would bring dishonor to the Volsung

However, Robert Bruce XVI, XVII, and Scottish Nobles want to settle the war
diplomatically for personnel benefits and later betray Wallace. This betrayal leads
to Wallace s capture where he is tortured and publically executed. Prior to his
execution, Wallace departs the world with one last word FREEDOM ! This word
single word coupled with Wallace s inspiration and passion reunites the Scottish
Nobles, Robert Bruce XVII, and the Scottish clans to take up arms as a united front
against the English to, later, gain their independence in 1314.
Why Braveheart?
Braveheart and the character William Wallace explain how courage, passion, and
inspiration can motivate people to unite against a common threat even when the
odds of success are low. Additionally, the story of William Wallace illustrates how
leadership traits can have a long lasting effect. William Wallace stays true to his
beliefs with such dedication that even under the pressure of torture; he is capable of
motivating his fellow Scotsmen to fight for freedom after his death. This is true
leadership! Anyone that can inspire a following after death has reached the highest
tier of leadership. This is the epitome of a leader. Now this essay will transition to
the background of a different type of leader, Ahmad ibn Fadlan from the motion
picture, The 13th Warrior.

Iraq 2003 Research Paper
The invasion of Iraq 2003 had an impact on Iraq and its civilians on a profound
level. There remains considerable controversy in regards to Iraq s political and
military transition. Human rights protection should be built into the institutional
framework for a future Iraq. Men, women and children were impacted physically and
psychologically as a result of the crimes committed by the US. A rights focus point
will strengthen the cooperation of Iraqi civilians in the transition process and will
reinforce the consideration of the occupying power and interim administration to the

The reports on the abuse and mistreatment of Iraqi detainees by US officials at Abu
Ghraib prison undermined the public reputation and image of the United States across
the globe. Domestic and international opponents of the initial decision to invade Iraq
in 2003, triggered criticism of the current US policies to a profound level. The
aftermaths of the invasion had negative repercussions on the relationship between the
two governments. Although, US forces practised persuasion, diplomacy, and
financial aid to support various Iraqi factions. By 2008, these actions were consistent
in faltering the insurgency. As a result, the military and political situations stabilised.
By this stage, President Barack Obama eventually terminated the US military
presence in Iraq. Obama pledged to transfer responsibility for Iraq s future to the
Iraqi people and to engage in regional diplomacy to ease external pressures on the
country (Hahn, 2012). In his pledge in August 2007, Obama stated that he would
close Guantanamo, reject the Military Commissions Act, and adhere to the Geneva
Conventions. Our Constitution and our Uniform Code of Military Justice provide a

Mylar Flips
According to Harper, Mylar flips are safer options for storage. Flips come in varied
sizes but they can be brittle and prone to splitting, so they are not good choices for
long term coinage storage. Hard plastic holders are the best solution for long term
storage. Holders come in either two or three parts and are screwed together. The
more expensive varieties are airtight and watertight. Clear plasticflips are preferable
as they have 2 pockets, one for the coin and the other pocket used to provide
curatorial information. The flips have advantages as the coins can be viewed or
examined without removing them from their holders. For best archive quality
storage, polyester or polyethylene terephthalate is most stable. Museum staff should

One huge challenge with newly accessioned coins arrive is how to handle them
once they enter the museum. Bucki states that coins must be handled by the edges,
and the face of the coin should never be touched. If coins are in a mint set, the
packaging, plastic capsules or holders should never be removed. It is particularly
challenging to handle loose coins, and the recommendation is to lay them on a
soft, thick cloth on a table or work with them over a felt lined coin tray. The area
must be free of dust and lint and hands must be cleaned, preferably with unscented
hand sanitizer, as this removes potentially damaging oils from fingers, and prevents
fingerprints on coins. Other suggestions when closely viewing coins, is to lean
inwards to view the coin, over the the soft cloth or tray, and keep the coin well
away from breath stream. Droplets of water from saliva, has the potential to create
spotting on silver and copper coins. There are varied opinions whether staff should

The Individual Versus His Environment in The Stranger

The Individual Versus His Environment in The Stranger and Grendel Due to the
multifaceted nature of literature, analysis thereof is prone to generalization. One of
the most grievous generalizations oft encountered involves failing to distinguish
between a character and the novel it inhabits. Take John Gardener s Grendel and
Albert Camuss The Stranger, for instance. It s far too easy, when analyzing for
dominant ideologies, to slap them both with the label of existentialismand be done
with it. However, closer scrutiny indicates that whilst both Meursault and Grendel are
existential heroes, Grendel, unlike Meursault, exists in a solipsistic universe that runs
contrary to his ideology and thusly never experiences the catharsis that... Show more

In Camus s The Stranger, we have the platonic ideal of a book designed to promote
a certain philosophy. In John Gardener s Grendel, however, the message is not so
clear cut. Grendel, the ill fated anti hero of the John Gardener novel which bears
his name, acts primarily in the manner of an existentialist hero. He embraces his
alienation, spending the majority of his time alone; he frequently evokes the
absurd to mock those who would try and bring false meaning to a meaningless
world; and though he meets characters who embody different ideologies, all trying
to influence him towards one philosophy or another, his final whispered curse has
a heavily existential flavor. But though Grendel may be an existentialist hero,
Grendel is a hostile environment for existentialism to thrive; you see, Grendel
does not live in an existential world, like Meursault does. Grendel s universe is
solipsistic, and because he never embraces this fact, there can be no catharsis for
Grendel. Though solipsism and existentialism may appear similar at first glance,
closer inspection reveals them to be philosophical oil and water. For conclusive
proof that these ideologies do not play well together, we need only recall the
previously quoted passage from Existentialism is a Humanism, The other is
indispensable to my existence, and equally so to any knowledge I can have of
myself. If this is so, then living in a solipsistic universe
Psd Vs Mastery
The charter school system is a collection of autonomous institutions that are required

be measured. One of the leading charter schools in Philadelphia is Mastery and it s
the biggest competitor to the Public School system. Due to Mastery s infamous
name and increasing student population, it seems to be better compared with our
State funded system. I argue that Mastery is a more efficient school system than the

on the grade level of the student. Kindergarten through 3rd grade use a rewards

and from this color system a language is created for teachers to communicate with
students. Grades 4 through 12 use either the Merit or Demerit system. The merit
system tracks the exemplary behavior and actions. The merit cards are given and
are to be carried along with school Id on the lanyard. Demerits track minor
infractions. A new demerit card is given each month, and once a new card is given,
it is considered a clean slate for the student. A filled demerit card is given to the dean
of students which leads to a detention and a new one will be given for the remainder
of the month. Mastery s discipline system is created to have a safe, respectful and

Air Scent Dogs Research Paper
The work of a search and rescue dog, put as simply as possible, is to locate a the
source of a human scent and alert the handler to its location. They may search for
missing victims after a building collapse, articles of clothing or other clues in a
crime investigation, or even bodies underwater. While SAR dogs are useful for a
variety of situations, there are two main methods by which they work. Trailing
dogs need a starting point. This is usually an article of clothing or belonging of the
person the handler is trying to find. They then follow the trail in order to locate the
missing individual. However, tracking dogs cannot work after the trail has been
severely contaminated, making time critical to their success. Air scent dogs don t
need a starting point, as they simply pick up on the strongest point of human scent.
They are ideal for cases such as avalanches or collapsed buildings, where there are
multiple victims, or drowning cases, as they cannot follow a trail over the water.
The job of air scent dogs is also less time sensitive than that of trailing dogs. Some
of them also specialise in a certain type of case; water dogs search for drowning
victims, cavader dogs search for human remains, and avalanche dogs search for
buried victims after an avalanche.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Benjamin Franklin and His impact on American History

Benjamin Franklin was one of the most successful founding fathers of our nation and
helped establish American independence from Great Britain. He was a key member
in the development of the political backbone that has shaped this country into what it
is today. Benjamin Franklin was one of the most humble and inspirational figures of
that time. He was a major factor in the outcome of the war of Independence and in his
selfless actions of leaving his family, won the help from the French to assist America
in the fight against England. Although Benjamin Franklinnever made it to be

he joined the Free Masons. He was elected the leader very shortly after. During this

Organizational Archetypes
Organizational Archetypes
Grantham University
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine Mintzberg s organizational archetypes and
to explain why an organizational template is a good idea. It will also explore briefly,
the subject of teamwork and leadership and why there are not enough true leaders
today.
Organizational Archetypes To be successful, an organization has to be made up of
quality people. It also has to be structured in such a way as to promote success.
Successful businesses today are based on structural archetypes that were products of
the work of Henry Mintzberg, a renowned management theorist. Henry Mintzberg

It also allows them to make sure that necessary support systems are in place for the
entire organization. A significant weakness of this type is that with so many
autonomous divisions you end up having a significant duplication of resources and
activities and at times even conflict between divisions since they are competing for
the same company resources (Kokemuller, 2014). The last archetype is the
innovative organization or adhocracy . This is best suited to new companies that
need to be innovative just to survive. Filmmaking, pharmaceuticals, and consulting
businesses all fall within this category. Within this type of organization power is
delegated to wherever it is needed which can bring up some control issues, but at
the same time gives them unequaled flexibility. They can also move their talent
around to get them involved in any project where they may be needed. This allows
them to respond very quickly to change. Because the talent moves around to where
it is needed, teams can be self organizing and the sharing of authority can be just as
effective when shared horizontally as it is when shared vertically. This really sets an
adhocracy apart from other archetypes because in all the others authority really only
flowed vertically to varying degrees. But here we have horizontal sharing too, which
as we mentioned, can result in some problems with control and who has final
authority over some decisions. But for the most part this
Ethics, Kantian, And Aristotelian Theory
Buddhist ethics, although likened to some Western ethical theories, is not in fact the
same as those theories. The most common Western theories it is compared with are;
Utilitarianism, Kantian, and Aristotelian. Specifically, Utilitarianism does not
address the meaning of being a good person in its definition of right action. Kant
does not address the different classes as having different laws but believes in one set
of universal laws and Aristotle believes in the perfection of a self that does not exist
in Buddhism. These differences can be seen through the evaluation of how a person
comes to a decision about an ethical problem. The trolley cart problem presented by
Philippa Foot. The problem is making a decision between two options that both
result in death. The first option results in the death of one person but the saving of
five people s lives. The second option would result in the death of five people and
the life of one. In the first option you are consciously interfering with an event and
changing that event in order to save lives. In the second option your action is
inaction, letting the event happen, and letting the five people die while the one
person lives. Using utilitarianism ethics, one would come to the conclusion that you
must intervene and save the lives of the five people while sacrificing the life of one
person. This is because Utilitarianism is concerned with actions that produce the
greatest good for the greatest number. Deciding to kill the one

The World is Flat -Chapters 7 8 Essay example
The Right Stuff
Constant change and a flat, global competitive market landscape were described by
Thomas Friedman, author of The World is Flat, as triple convergence and was a
result of the ten flatteners. Friedman also stated that in Globalization 1.0, countries
had to think globally. In Globalization 2.0, companies had to think globally to thrive,
or at least survive. In Globalization 3.0, individuals have to think globally to thrive, or
at least survive. (Friedman, 2007) The concept of needing individuals to think
globally and thrive in the market led Friedman to travel and report on various

The first ability required in the right stuff is learning how to learn. Friedman
discussed the ability to learn as constant absorption, and self teaching techniques that
manifest crystallized intelligence and enhance the ability of the individual to new

individually in the new flat world. Individuals that love learning and are motivated
to search for data or self learn will be stewards of their own compounding education.

Navigation, is the second required critical skill set outlined by Friedman s right stuff

has increased social thinking that the source of data that flattens the world is credible

open source information is critical to understanding the difference between
information, facts and wisdom. (Friedman, 2007) The youth of the future will need to
be able to discern the difference between information and carry forward credible
information and spin it into a new innovation.

as recently as 2006, the number of people with at least one tattooincreased from about
6 percent in 1936 to about 21 percent in 2012. It comes as no surprise that the tattoo
industry is the sixth fastest growing retail business in America and this has obviously
translated to online interest as well, as there are more than 147 million tattoo related
searches each month on Google. Christians getting tattoos is a controversial topic.
With such prevalence and rising interest, Christians rightfully ask what the Biblesays
about tattoos. But the Bible makes no specific reference to tattoos as we understand
them in modern times. The Bible s teaching concerning this issue is complex, not
because it is difficult to understand, but rather because it is a side issue that the
Bible really does not address head on. In Leviticus 19:28 it states, And a cutting for
the dead you will not make in your flesh; and writing marks you will not make on
you; I am the Lord. Some Christians condemn all tattooing as immoral because God
clearly forbids them in this Bible verse. Other Christians say this verse no longer
applies to modern society because it is an Old Testament

Hamlet Soliloquy Speech
Hamlet s To be, or not to be speech is ubiquitous. From a Sesame Street lesson to a
Charlie Chaplin movie to a Malcolm X speech, it is a soundbite, the epitome of
acting, and a rallying cry for action. Like Da Vinci s Mona Lisa or Beethoven s
Ode to Joy , Shakespeare s ponderous soliloquy seems to be more famous for its
fame than for its merits, though it has many. How do directors and actors convince
their audiences to engage with Hamlets words, when the audience is more inclined
to be pulled into their own thoughts and ideas about the soliloquy as soon as they
hear the signifier of To be ?
I will be examining approaches taken by directors and actors across the history of
filmed Hamlets to create Hamlet s famous speech, focusing on ... Show more content

In film, audiences are more naturally voyeurs than confidantes, so an audience for
the soliloquy must be created inside of the context of the production. In Laurence
Olivier s 1948 film, the camera seems to zoom into the back of Hamlet s head and
enter his mind. A blurry focus shifting from Hamlet s eyes s point of view, looking
at the water below, to a frame on Hamlet s face, allows the possibility that the
audience is experiencing Hamlet s perspective, and Hamlet is having an out of
body experience. This explains why the audience can still hear Hamlet s thoughts
when his lips stop moving. Then upon perchance to dream , the jarring musical
cue, camera shift away from Hamlet s head to a more normal frame of his entire
body, and Hamlet s opening of his eyes comprise moving outside of Hamlet s head
as he wakes from a trance. Hamlet speaks the rest of the monologue out loud, with
no audience except himself and the cliffs. The shift from inside Hamlet s mind to
outside comes at the tone shift in the speech, the realization that the dreams of death
are probably nightmares. Hamlet s desire to express his thoughts about the horrors of
life and death out loud is believable and natural. Since the audience has been inside of
Hamlet s mind, they are not likely to feel they are intruding upon Hamlet s thoughts.
The boundary between public and private life is erased many times in Hamlet. For
example, Hamlet s troubles and concerns come from his personal

Hashimoto Thyroiditis Essay
Introduction
Hashimoto s Thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system
attacks the thyroid. The thyroid is a small gland at the base of the neck that produces
hormones and that help control most of the bodies activities. Inflammation to the
thyroid, from Hashimoto s, often leads to hypothyroidism, an underactive thyroid
gland. Hashimoto s disease is the number one cause of hypothyroidism in the United
States. It mainly affects middle aged women but Hashimoto s can affect men,
women of any age, and even children ( Hashimoto s Disease National Library of
Medicine PubMed Health, 2014).
My patient is a 30 year old mother of two who presented with symptoms of fatigue,
cold intolerance, and tearfulness. She was later diagnosed with Hashimoto s
Thyroiditis six months after the birth of her second child. With the addition of a
thyroid hormone, prescribed by her doctor, the patient is doing well and living an

Religion In The Renaissance
Imagine if the Earth had any history, would the world be similar to how it is today?
Fortunately, one does have access to know about the past either through books or
technology. With knowledge about the past, the actions of others may assist to avert
time repeating itself. In Europe an important era known as the Renaissancewere
experimental with religion, society, and humanism.
Perspectives of others concerning religion varied throughout Europe. Furthermore,
Art produced in northern Europe in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries tended to be
more religious in orientation than that produced in Italy, (389). Distance may have
been a contributor towards the division of appreciation of religious art, such as the
Descent of the Cross by the painter Rogier van der Weyden. The overall views of
religion had several supporters, creating the rise of popularity for selected works of
art. For example, Religious topics, such as the Annunciation of the Virgin and the
Nativity, remained popular among both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, The division between educated and uneducated people was only one
of many social hierarchies evident in the Renaissance, (393). Many individuals in
the past were not given the equal opportunities as others. How others interacted with
each other can be seen in the painting the Life of the Renaissance by Lorenzo Lotto.
In addition, Such hierarchies are to some degree descriptions of social reality, but
they are also idealizations that is, they describe how people imagined their society to
be, without all the messy reality... (393). People back then also gave their society
high expectations similar to the present. One social hierarchy was discrimination
towards African Americans, which was often seen in portraits involving Italian
aristocrats and their page boys. Other than the importance of the social aspect of past
times, the ideas of humanism
Examples Of Social Commentary In Fahrenheit 451
People look at the stories of corrupt government and unusual behavior ,and feel
secure for in their eyes the stories are fabled. They aren t aware that the world of
today is headed down the same path. A world of dystopia is on the horizon as the
world is slowly consumed by the bright lights in our palms. Authors, and filmmakers
have utilized many tools to make their creations come to life in front of the intended
audience. In these forms of entertainment, social commentary is used to relate the
audience in the distant world. For example, in Fahrenheit 451, Guy Montagis placed
in a book burningworld that is against any form of actual thinking, but all that
changes for Montag as he meets Clarisse McClellan who questions everything around
her.
Analysis of Anti-Smoking Advertisements
Analysis of AntiВSmoking Advertisements
Smoking is becoming more and more of a problem throughout the world. Smoking
cigarettes used to symbolize wealth and status in society. Today, smoking seems to
be more of a trend to look cool . It is very much advertised against on television
today. Since tobacco companies don t advertise on television the antiВsmoking
companies already have a huge step ahead. More people than past decades have
access to television and see these advertisements more than the ones tobacco
companies post at businesses that sell tobacco products. Most people just walk right

Another technique that goes along with the last example would be weasel words. In
Figure 2, the words at the bottom of the ad say Kill A Cigarette and Save A Life.
Yours.
Weasel words means using words to suggest a positive meaning. Just because you
smoke does that mean you re going to die? Of course not. The words were placed in
the ad to give a little more dramatic effect to the message they re trying to portray.
About 19 percent of all adults in the United States were current smokers in 2011
(Centers for Disease). That is about 43.8 billion people in the United States who
reported to have smoked at least 100 cigarettes in their lifetime, and who at the time
of the interview, reported to have smoked on a regular basis. Every day about one
thousand people under the age of 18 become daily cigarette smokers (Substance
Abuse). From that information you can infer that the percentage of all adults that
smoke today is most likely more than 20 percent. Tobacco companies use many forms
of advertising techniques to get their customers and the antiВsmoking or
antiВtobacco companies and campaigns use the opposite techniques. They use facts
and statistics to get their point across. They want people to know what they are
actually doing when they smoke a cigarette. That is
Paper On Diversity In Education
1. Diversity is a range of different things, forms, types, ideas, races and cultures.
Learning diversity would allow me to be great teacher. Teachers must come to
understand the real lived experience of the families and children they teach. Being
educated on diversity could help me understand the different circumstances and
characteristics of various students. It would make you more aware of different
cultures, and better me for cultures and beliefs. As I continue out my career when I
come in contact with more diverse students I will be more educate and efficient
then I was before. To prepare for diversity you should all ways be opened minded. A
great teacher is flexible and prepared for the unexpected.
2. I think testing teachers is a great idea to be sure the teachers are staying efficient.
This allows the teacher to know what area he or she needs to improve in. Change and
criticism is a great thing to become a more efficient teacher. Achieving and
maintaining a high level of quality in teacher education and professional development

The Theme of Decadence in the Picture of Dorian Grey by...
The theme of decadence in The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde Staring
from the definition found in the dictionary, the decadence is a literary movement
especially of late 19th century France and England characterized by refined
aestheticism, artifice, and the quest for new sensations. [1] In decadence, important
is not necessarily what is seen, but the hermeneutics: what man feels when he sees
the creative result of this feeling. It is the current that requires a co operation from
the public to the artistic work for the purposes of re creation. The image proposed by
the decadents is a violent one, an image that shocks by having a fascinating and

His conception is hedeonistic. If Basil is the art creator, the picture s creator, Lord
Henry is the creator of Dorian s new aspect. The experience of the sin is finished by
killing his friend, Basil Hallward. His act does not stirs remorse, his only concern
being to erase the traces in order to avoid getting discovered. His diabolism can be
compared to the one of Des Esseintes , which attempts to transform a young man,
Auguste Langlois, into an assassin, through vice, but the difference is that the
Huysmans s character has not the power to commit a murder himself. The murder is
followed by the destruction of the portrait. A strong element related to the decadent
movement is the dandyism, the social phenomenon, meaning a man who places
particular importance upon physical appearance, refined language, and leisurely
hobbies, pursued with the appearance of nonchalance in a cult of Self.[5] A first
determination of dandyism is shown when old Lord Fermor says to his nephew
Henry Wotton Well, Harry, what brings you out so early? I thought you dandies
never got up till two, and were not visible till five. [6] Lord Henry Wotton is fully a
dandy, most of the qualities found at him. His modality of choosing the people he
comes into strengthens the claim that Henry is a dandy, I choose my
Gold Rush Causes And Effects
Research Paper: The history and effect of The Gold Rush Gold rush is one of the
significant event in the history. In this project, I will introduce what was the major
effects of gold rush in the California. And how did that changed the people,
economic, political and environmental effects. The Gold Rush is a rapid movement
of people to a newly discovered goldfield. Gold rush was arguably one of the most
significant events to build American history during the first half of the 19th
century. Thousands of gold miners traveled by the sea and over the land of San
Francisco and the surrounding area. In January 1848, James Wilson Marshall
discovered gold along the American River. By the time, the fountain of the gold
was loaded on newspaper, but it didn t become a big event, most of people just did
not really believe the account of gold. The Gold rush occurred in May 1848. A
storekeeper in Sutter s cheek who is called Sam Brannan showed a bottle filled
with gold dust and shouted that he found a piece of gold from American River. So
the residents of the city got a proof of the discovery of gold. People who heard
about the gold discovery started to gather in San Francisco s harbor. This is the
beginning of the gold rush. By the time, gold mining was a one of tough profession.
Although most people didn t make much money, a few prospectors got fabulously
rich. Also, Gold rush made a lot of Ghost Town. People rushed to the town when gold
was discovered, but when the mining dried

Lockheed Martin s greatest weakness.
D. Lockheed Martin through the years has acquired other companies under its brand,

Lockheed Martin said it had been unable to reach an acceptable settlement with the
US Government over the deal, which would have created a combined company with
revenues of some $37bn. The move was part of the general rush to consolidate in the
defense industry. Los Angeles based Northrop says it now plans to grow its
information technology and services business, which currently contributes $1bn to its
revenues, to double that figure over the next five years.
Lockheed Martin was attempting to consolidate the Defense Industry, in reality they
were trying to put a strangle hold on it. The advantage would have been setting the
market price heavily in their favor since they bought out all the other competitors.
The government wasn t naive to what they were doing and it cost Lockheed
The Relationship Between Nissan And Mitsubishi
Description of the Situation
One of the most spoken and discussed issues in the business world has become
establishing the association between the Nissan and Mitsubishi car producers. After
the scandal that occurred as the Mitsubishi falsified its fuel economy tests, the
cooperation with Nissan is like a lifeline to the company. Nissan s decision to buy an
influential share of Mitsubishi s assets is believed to bring benefits to both
participants of the process. While this deal would help the Mitsubishi corporation to
improve its image after the cheating scandal, Nissan also expects to increase its
profits by using the recognizability of Mitsubishi s brand in the eastern countries.
Under the conditions of growing global competition in the automobile industry, the
alliance between the large Japanese and European car producers is supposed to
radically strengthen the positions of both companies on the market.
However, the formation of this alliance would not involve the complete merger of the
companies. Nissan shared information regarding taking a 34% stake in Mitsubishi
Motors , which would allow Nissan to gain de facto control over the processes
within Mitsubishi ( Nissan Is Buying ). With one third of the assets, Nissan would
become Mitsubishi s main investor. The Nissan company has an objective of ... Show

Fluoridation Of Drinking Water Essay
Chemistry and Health: Fluoridation of Drinking Water Chemistry is a significant
aspect in our lives; everything around us is made up of matter and the different
forms of matter are what make it possible for us to breathe and survive (Nivaldo,
2018, p. 67). Scientists study chemistry based on how it occurs in our everyday
lives, health, and in the environment that we live in. Furthermore, chemistry plays
a huge role in health in a sense of what is good and bad for the body, or why the
body is reacting to a certain substance in the way that it is. Teeth are a vital part of
the human body; they help us chew our food so that we are able to swallow, not to
mention that they are the first thing that a person looks at when they meet you, if you

It is important for everyone to take good care of their teeth and the extent to which
they are taken care of can sometimes even determine what overall condition they are
in. This makes sense because a person that frequently skips brushing their teeth will
most likely have more cavities than a person that brushes their teeth daily, but it can
also depend on the things a person is eating or drinking as well. In this paper, I will
discuss the ways that fluoridation of drinking water affects our health in ways such as
theories, developments, and the role that it plays in society.

One of the most commonly heard theories about fluoride is that if consumed in

The Impact Of Technology On Society Today
There is no doubt that technology plays a big role in society today. Whether
people like it or not, one thing is definite: technology is not going anywhere.
Having grown up in the midst of the digital revolution, technology was going to be
a part of my life, and it most definitely has. No matter if it is the Internet, computers,
cell phones, tablets, video games; I have been exposed to all of them. However, of all
the pieces of technologyI have used, the one I cannot live without would have to be
my laptop. This year has opened my eyes to how important it is to have a nice
laptop. Whether I am taking notes in class, doing research online, typing a paper,
surfing the web, or Skyping my family back home, I am always using my laptop.
Sure, I still use my cell phone a lot, but I honestly do not use social media on it as I
used to. So really the main purposes for my cell phone are what they should be for;
making phone calls and sending texts. If I did not have a laptop, it would make
going to school more challenging, I would spend much more time at the library
using their computers and could not enjoy lying in bed watching my favorite show
on Netflix. Of course I could handle not having a laptop. However, after completing
my first year away at school, my eyes have been opened to the importance of
having one, and I have seen how dependent I am on mine. I use the technology I use
because it makes my life easier, simpler, and more efficient. I also use technology

Gender Perceptions Of Gender And Gender Stereotypes
We often fail to realize how much the minute judgements we make about an
individual solely on appearance, affect how we interact with them. For instance, the
simple distinction of sex may influence how we regard another person, and thus
directly influence our manner of speaking, our body language, even our facial
expressions. These judgements are often based off of genderstereotypes, and gender
ideology, two concepts so engrained is society we fail to recognize them usually
(Guest 2014). To further examine the roles such judgements, play in everyday
interactions, I sat in a cafГ© downtown for an hour and people watched, noting who
was interacting with whom, and how different traits such as gender, or even social
class influence them. Throughout the observation, it was fascinating to see how
people let these judgements influence them entirely. Though more interesting may
have been the patterns that unfolded. A particularly noticeable trend was one defined
by sex. Women generally interacted with more women, while men interacted with
more men. In these same sex interactions, women overall seemed more at ease, they
maintained more relaxed postures, displayed a wider range of paralanguage, and
even spoke at a louder volume.
Oddly, men were divided when it came to same sex interactions. If the men were of
equal status, they generally sustained good posture, with shoulders rolled back,
though minimal tension. When speaking they utilized more paralanguage, especially

Landfill Gas Generation And Collection From Waste
2.2LANDFILL GAS GENERATION AND COLLECTION FROM WASTE
Landfills are designed structures built into or on top of the ground to ensure refuse
isolation. The design and operations act to ensure that there are minimal effects to
public and environmental health. MSW landfills have 6 components: 1] Bottom liner
systems, 2] Refuse wells 3] Storm water drainage system, 4] Leachate collection
systems, 5] methane collection systems, and 6] a covering cap. These components
promote methane capture [Sawyer, 2007].
1.Bottom Liner systems are usually constructed from puncture resistant, plastic
HDPE or PVC. These are used to prevent the movement of leachate and LFG [Kim,
2003].
2.Wells are the most common methods of LFG extraction. Vertical Well... Show more

Drainage pipes and storm water liners collect water from different areas in the
landfill and channel it to collection ponds before it is pumped off site [Freudenrich,
2005].
4.Leachate Collection systems optimize landfill systems and are designed as fail
safes for the storm water drainage systems. Whenever water permeates through the
landfill wells, it reacts with organic and inorganic contaminants and then becomes
leachate. It is treated as sewage or wastewater before it is released [Freudenrich,
2005].
5.Methane recovery systems are used to pump methane and carbon dioxide which is
then collected and then transported to processing stations [Guo Song, 1996].
6.Landfill covers or caps are used to control moisture infiltration, mitigate the release
of LFG, prevent and pests from rummaging through the refuse. It also allows the site
to be re used in the future [Kim, 2003]. Figure 3: Typical Landfill Gas Recovery and

2.3FACTORS THAT AFFECT LFG GENERATION AND COLLECTION
I.Quantity of Waste Disposed: The amount disposed at the landfill is directly affects
the amount of LFG generated. The more waste you have in the well, the more LFG
produced [Reinhart Barlaz, 2010].
II.Waste Composition: Waste can be defined according to the relative
biodegradability:
a)Readily biodegradable (such as food waste)
b)Moderately biodegradable (Paper waste and green waste)
c)Slowly biodegradable (Paper waste
The Purchasing Power Parity ( Ppp ) And I Will Divide

Introduction:
A quote from Adam Smith s book shows the distinguishes between money and wealth
: It would be too ridiculous to go about seriously to prove that wealth does not consist
in money, or in gold and silver; but in what money purchases, and is valuable only for
purchasing. This quote means the money purchases seems to be more important than
money itself, in other words, this view is consistent with many economists who think
the purchasing power is important. There is two type of fundamental international
financial relationships: first is the Purchasing power parity which occurs in goods and
services market, the second is the interest parity which occurs in the money market.
Both relationships state the association among interest rate, inflation rates, and change
in exchange rates.
In this paper, I will only focus on discussing the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) and
I will divide this paper into four sections. In section 1, I will come up with the
definition of PPP and other theories behind it. For section 2, I will briefly introduce
the absolute PPP and relative PPP and empirical evidence on PPP. Section 3
explains empirical test of PPP in practice and the problem of PPP. For the last
section, there are conclusion and remarks.
Section 1: Understanding Purchasing power parity
In this section, I will define the purchasing power parity and other theories behind
PPP.
WHAT IS PPP?
Purchasing power parity (PPP) principle was first introduced by Gustav Cassell in the
Ancient Land Of Canaan Analysis
The ancient land of Canaan, located in the Middle East, has been promised to many
different people, and in result, has been ruthlessly fought over. After the Holocaust,
Great Britain split the land in half, giving one part to the Palestinians who had lived
there for many years, and the rest to the Israelis who had been there since the
beginning of monotheistic religion. The boundaries have constantly changed, due to
constant fighting and wars. The Israelis believe the land is rightfully theirs, because
it was the birthplace of their religion. The Proclamation of the State of Israelsays, The
land of Israelwas the birthplace of the Jewish people. Here their spiritual, religious
and national identity was formed (Document 12) . The Israelis
Bodybuilder Research Paper
Fitness has grown to a multibillion dollar industry. The idea of fitness has influenced
millions of lives whether the correlation was as a career, lifestyle, or an occasional
hobby. People globally compete in bodybuilding, physique, and powerlifting meets
earning thousands of dollars depending on their successes. Though they seem
pointless at first, even the sixty second long infomercials on television advertising the
new and approved anywhere gym equipment or perfect diet has made the viewer at
least contemplate their health. People often confuse fitness as a sole concept of either
exercising or dieting, but fitness depends immensely on both. Some people in the
fitness industry manipulate diet and exerciseto create the body stature they desire....

The overall process can change from bodybuilder to bodybuilder, but they usually
have a bulking season and a cutting season. Bulking seasons are indicated by a
surplus of calories in order to build as much muscle as possible. While building
muscle seems simple enough, they are actually very precise about their lifts and
nutrition as they need to keep symmetry amongst their muscles. The purpose of
cutting is to have their body at a point of definition where striations can be seen in
all of their muscles. The ability to see separation of muscles comes from having a
low enough body fat percentage. While cutting, bodybuilders must ensure they are
eating enough calories to preserve muscle mass while burning the necessary
amount of body fat. This is when having a strict workout regime with a mix of
cardio and weight lifting comes into place. Though all ranges of reps have been
proven to stimulate muscle growth the traditional range is between eight and
twelve reps per lift. A traditional workout will consist of multi joint compound
moves as its primary focus with single joint accessory work afterwards. Compound
moves include the bench press, dead lift, and squat while accessory lifts include
pectoral flies, back extensions, and leg extensions. The list of compound and
accessory lifts is far more vast, but these simple examples. There can be extreme
variations is styles of lifting which change in accordance to the lifters experience.
Cardio is typically only used during cutting season while trying to reach an
appropriate body fat percentage. The typical times for cardio change per person, but
will usually be in the morning upon waking up, before weight lifting, or directly
Memphis Tennessee Case Study
Memphis, Tennessee is listed in the top five most violent cities in America. Memphis
homicide rate is close to two hundred and we have one more month to go before the
end of 2016.
Description of Interest
Something has to change. This is what I have been telling myself over and over
again. In the city of Memphis, we have mothers killing their children. We have
youths beating adults with crow bars while robbing them of their money. We have
other youths being convicted of killing a mother who was a pizza delivery worker
who refused to give up her money. We have poverty areas that need daycare
resources as well as tools to help single mothers. We also have too many students
being expelled from school due to various reasons. I decided ... Show more content on

An educational journey consists of effective study habits which will require
researching various sources, managing personal/family life, and balancing work and
school. Research is very important. It will either hurt you or help you, depending on
your research skills and time management skills. Research helps link one s ideas to
true and tested studies that can help prove a stance on a particular subject matter.
When one is able to provide information backed up by empirical studies, one s
information can begin to flourish. For example, think about the various magazines
that are sold nationwide. The National Enquirer is seen to be a false, untrue magazine
that provides information about subject matters that are not even true. Even though,
the National Enquirer is a great attention getter, there are surmountable people who
know the stories printed inside are not believable. In regards to research, students
should seek out reputable sources that can enhance their writing skills which in turn
will help to write a better paper. Research provides valuable knowledge for the
student. The student may already know the information but the research will give
added seasoning to that knowledge. Just like cooking, one knows how to cook a
turkey but, it s the seasonings that will bring the turkey to life. Those seasoning ideas
may come from various individuals.
Fidelity Checks In Schools
In investigating about the evaluation procedures for many different positions of a
school, I learned a great deal about how, when, and why. There is a system in place
for most employees and their evaluation procedures. Teachers are evaluated
according to their license status and the previous year s TVAAS score. This can
mean they have anywhere between two to six evaluations throughout the year. Some
will be scheduled but others are unannounced to allow for teacher accountability. On
top of these evaluations, teachers are also check upon during Response to
Intervention (RTI). These checks are called fidelity checks and are used to ensure
teachers are following state procedures put into place regarding their tier and student
needs.
Anxiety And Learning Anxiety
Adolescents today are forced to face the intensified stressors of life in our high
pressured society and the cognitive, physiological, and emotional changes that take
place throughout this stage of development. As a result, the rates of many
psychopathologies increase significantly among adolescents ages 10 16. Extensive
research that shows that anxietylevels and disrupted social skills can be particularly
high among adolescents with learningdisabilities (LD). However, the origin of
anxiety as it relates to LD has yet to be determined, making it hard to treat. On the
one hand, there exists the deficit in study skills model in which anxiety is a result of
low self assurance and feeling unprepared due to deficient knowledge. On the other...

Thus, the authors hypothesized that if mindfulness meditation can encourage
attentional factors and self esteem and, thus, reduce anxiety, it may also concurrently
enhance social skills and academic performance. They also hypothesized that
mindfulness meditation (MM) would positively influence all three of these outcome
variables by mitigating cognitive interference. The participant sample was composed
of thirtyВtwo adolescent volunteers (aged 13 17) recruited from four classes in a
private high school for children with LD. For five days a week, the participants
were led in mindfulness meditation (not identified with MBSR) for five to ten
minutes at the beginning of each class period by two classroom teachers. The
researchers used a preВpost no control design composed of three tests: the Social
Skills Rating System (SSRS), The State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and
Attitudinal questions. All three surveys were completed by both the students and
their two teachers. On postВintervention surveys, students selfВreported both
decreased state (shortВterm) and trait (longВterm) anxiety (STAI test). Moreover, the
teachers reported improvements of students social skills and academic performance
(SRRS and attitudinal questions surveys). The variables above showed significant
improvements in the postВtest (all p values .05). Although not directly assessed, these
results suggest that mindfulness

experimental designs are: it has randomized controlled and real life studies. Next,
group populations such as women and minorities were used to test their studies.
Third, emphasis was laid on HIV/AIDS, weight loss, or fat intake. Moreover, the
strengths outlined with quasi experimental designs are a part of the pre test and post

ABSTRACT An Internet survey of publishers and online editors found that growth of
the Internet newspaper yielded a slightly negative effect on print newspapers
circulation. The findings suggest that the smaller the newspaper, the larger effect the
Internet newspapers had on the print newspapers. Small and medium sized print
newspapers showed obvious decreasing circulation since 1990 while the declining

newspaper reading was limited to the one serving people s home city or town plus
a national daily like The Wall Street Journal or USA Today. Now, however, local
papers and any one of numerous newspapers from across the country are only a

competitive displacement for printed newspapers. 15 Studies found some support for
relative constancy with growth of the Internet newspapers. A survey by Editor

and readers shifted from print to online.17 A survey released in September 2000

many people complaining and groaning about their knee joints aching. To help them
out, I went over to the copier and printer only to realize that it was not functioning
properly. After thinking for a while, I concluded that the element Selenium is
disappearing. After looking into the copier, I saw that it was not functioning due to
the lack of Selenium. Selenium in laser printers and photocopiers serve as a semi
conductor, meaning it is a substance that is in between conductors and non
conductors. Selenium is not only common in laser printers and photocopiers, but
also it is used in the development in transistors in computers and cell phones. After
walking away from the copier, I went over to my friend Greg and asked why his
knee joints were aching. He told me that he normally takes a dose of Selenium a day

  • 3. A Brief Note On Animal Endangerment And Vulnerability In this essay I shall be looking at a few practitioners consisting of Illustrators, painters and film makers; each create awareness in their own unique and distinguishable form for the subject of animal endangerment and vulnerability. I shall also be studying which socially engaging visual practice is most effective and why. It is thought that scientists have discovered only 17.5 million species on this world; which seems quite a significant amount but when also considering that it s only thought that 20% of them are estimated to live, it seems like nothing. Unfortunately, not every single animal and organism can be protected from such problems as deforestation, climate change, illegal wildlife trading, pollution, oil and gas development. One example would be forests cover 31% of the land area on our planet; they produce vital oxygen and provide homes for people and wildlife. Many of the worlds most threatened and endangered animals live in the forests, and 1.6 million people rely on the benefits the forests offer (World Wildlife, 2015). Animal endangerment is a subject we are all very aware of but the majority of us fall into the sad category of not actually doing anything about it. Many groups and organisations and committed to helping keep these animals protected; although this alone has a massive impact on wildlife as donations not only keep animals safe but you can actually adopt and take care of one. To protect and conserve nature sounds like it should be one of

  • 5. Literary Comparison Between Wulf And Eadwacer Wulf and Eadwacer is a poem of great mystery to scholars because of its unknown meaning and where it is found in writing. It is one of the poems written within the Exeter Book. The Exeter Book was written in about the tenth century and is filled with both historical poems and riddle poems. Part of the mystery of the meaning of Wulf of Eadwacer comes from where it is placed within the Exeter Book. The poem lies at the very end of the historical poems, which are poems that focus on historic events and people, and at the very beginning of the riddle poems, which are poems that were told with a hidden answer in order to pass the time. Because of this, scholars argue over which section the poem belongs to and, with this, how to interpret the meaning. I believe... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Signy never truly loved Siggeir, she never even wanted to live with him. In The Saga of the Volsungs, Signy says: I do not wish to go away with Siggeir, nor do my thoughts laugh with him. I know through my foresight and that special ability found in our family that if the marriage contract is not quickly dissolved, this union will bring us much misery. Signy does not trust Siggeir and only sees him as a way to bring misery on herself and her family. The fact that Signy never loved her husband adds evidence to the fact that she is the answer to the riddle. The last connection we can make is that Signy did give her sons by Siggeir to Sigmund. She gave them to Sigmund so that he would have a companion during his time as an outlaw. She also wanted someone to aide Sigmund when he did come back and take revenge on Siggeir for the deaths of their family members. Signy s children were cursed, however, because they were weak children. The curse came because once Sigmund realized they were weak, Signy had given him permission to kill them because they would bring dishonor to the Volsung

Flips come in varied sizes but they can be brittle and prone to splitting, so they are not good choices for long term coinage storage. Hard plastic holders are the best solution for long term storage. Holders come in either two or three parts and are screwed together. The more expensive varieties are airtight and watertight. Clear plasticflips are preferable as they have 2 pockets, one for the coin and the other pocket used to provide curatorial information. Bucki states that coins must be handled by the edges, and the face of the coin should never be touched. If coins are in a mint set, the packaging, plastic capsules or holders should never be removed. It is particularly challenging to handle loose coins, and the recommendation is to lay them on a soft, thick cloth on a table or work with them over a felt lined coin tray. The area must be free of dust and lint and hands must be cleaned, preferably with unscented hand sanitizer, as this removes potentially damaging oils from fingers, and prevents fingerprints on coins. Other suggestions when closely viewing coins, is to lean inwards to view the coin, over the the soft cloth or tray, and keep the coin well away from breath stream. The Individual Versus His Environment in The Stranger and Grendel Due to the multifaceted nature of literature, analysis thereof is prone to generalization. One of the most grievous generalizations oft encountered involves failing to distinguish between a character and the novel it inhabits. Take John Gardener s Grendel and Albert Camuss The Stranger, for instance. It s far too easy, when analyzing for dominant ideologies, to slap them both with the label of existentialismand be done with it. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Camus s The Stranger, we have the platonic ideal of a book designed to promote a certain philosophy. In John Gardener s Grendel, however, the message is not so clear cut. Grendel, the ill fated anti hero of the John Gardener novel which bears his name, acts primarily in the manner of an existentialist hero. He embraces his alienation, spending the majority of his time alone; he frequently evokes the absurd to mock those who would try and bring false meaning to a meaningless world; and though he meets characters who embody different ideologies, all trying to influence him towards one philosophy or another, his final whispered curse has a heavily existential flavor. But though Grendel may be an existentialist hero, Grendel is a hostile environment for existentialism to thrive; you see, Grendel does not live in an existential world, like Meursault does. Grendel s universe is solipsistic, and because he never embraces this fact, there can be no catharsis for Grendel. Though solipsism and existentialism may appear similar at first glance, closer inspection reveals them to be philosophical oil and water. For conclusive proof that these ideologies do not play well together, we need only recall the previously quoted passage from Existentialism is a Humanism, The other is indispensable to my existence, and equally so to any knowledge I can have of myself. If this is so, then living in a solipsistic universe

  • 13. Air Scent Dogs Research Paper The work of a search and rescue dog, put as simply as possible, is to locate a the source of a human scent and alert the handler to its location. They may search for missing victims after a building collapse, articles of clothing or other clues in a crime investigation, or even bodies underwater. While SAR dogs are useful for a variety of situations, there are two main methods by which they work. Trailing dogs need a starting point. This is usually an article of clothing or belonging of the person the handler is trying to find. They then follow the trail in order to locate the missing individual. However, tracking dogs cannot work after the trail has been severely contaminated, making time critical to their success. Air scent dogs don t need a starting point, as they simply pick up on the strongest point of human scent. They are ideal for cases such as avalanches or collapsed buildings, where there are multiple victims, or drowning cases, as they cannot follow a trail over the water. The job of air scent dogs is also less time sensitive than that of trailing dogs. Some of them also specialise in a certain type of case; water dogs search for drowning victims, cavader dogs search for human remains, and avalanche dogs search for buried victims after an avalanche.... After plans fell through and being very short on cash, he decided to stay in London until he was able to pay his way home. When he returned he got married to Deborah Reads, girl he met and fell in love with many years earlier. He worked in many other printing shops publishing his works until his career really took a turn for the better when he joined the Free Masons. He was elected the leader very shortly after. During this time he wrote the agreement for the Library Company of Philadelphia and this became the first public library in America. After his establishment of the first public library his role as a founder and leader started to take shape. He quickly became the president and the secretary of the library to ensure its success. At this time Ben Franklin was looking for ways to improve the nation. His next big improvement was the Union Fire company organized in 1734 which became the nation s first Fire Department. The fire department that he developed made a significant impact on the city of Philadelphia. This also sparked the idea of having night watchmen to watch the city during the hours of darkness. Organizational Archetypes To be successful, an organization has to be made up of quality people. It also has to be structured in such a way as to promote success. A significant weakness of this type is that with so many autonomous divisions you end up having a significant duplication of resources and activities and at times even conflict between divisions since they are competing for the same company resources (Kokemuller, 2014). The last archetype is the innovative organization or adhocracy . This is best suited to new companies that need to be innovative just to survive. Filmmaking, pharmaceuticals, and consulting businesses all fall within this category. Within this type of organization power is delegated to wherever it is needed which can bring up some control issues, but at the same time gives them unequaled flexibility. They can also move their talent around to get them involved in any project where they may be needed. This allows them to respond very quickly to change. Because the talent moves around to where it is needed, teams can be self organizing and the sharing of authority can be just as effective when shared horizontally as it is when shared vertically. This really sets an adhocracy apart from other archetypes because in all the others authority really only flowed vertically to varying degrees. But here we have horizontal sharing too, which as we mentioned, can result in some problems with control and who has final authority over some decisions. But for the most part this
  • 16. Ethics, Kantian, And Aristotelian Theory Buddhist ethics, although likened to some Western ethical theories, is not in fact the same as those theories. The most common Western theories it is compared with are; Utilitarianism, Kantian, and Aristotelian. Specifically, Utilitarianism does not address the meaning of being a good person in its definition of right action. Kant does not address the different classes as having different laws but believes in one set of universal laws and Aristotle believes in the perfection of a self that does not exist in Buddhism. These differences can be seen through the evaluation of how a person comes to a decision about an ethical problem. The trolley cart problem presented by Philippa Foot. The problem is making a decision between two options that both result in death. The first option results in the death of one person but the saving of five people s lives. The second option would result in the death of five people and the life of one. In the first option you are consciously interfering with an event and changing that event in order to save lives. In the second option your action is inaction, letting the event happen, and letting the five people die while the one person lives. Using utilitarianism ethics, one would come to the conclusion that you must intervene and save the lives of the five people while sacrificing the life of one person. This is because Utilitarianism is concerned with actions that produce the greatest good for the greatest number. Deciding to kill the one

But the Bible makes no specific reference to tattoos as we understand them in modern times. The Bible s teaching concerning this issue is complex, not because it is difficult to understand, but rather because it is a side issue that the Bible really does not address head on. In Leviticus 19:28 it states, And a cutting for the dead you will not make in your flesh; and writing marks you will not make on you; I am the Lord. In film, audiences are more naturally voyeurs than confidantes, so an audience for the soliloquy must be created inside of the context of the production. In Laurence Olivier s 1948 film, the camera seems to zoom into the back of Hamlet s head and enter his mind. A blurry focus shifting from Hamlet s eyes s point of view, looking at the water below, to a frame on Hamlet s face, allows the possibility that the audience is experiencing Hamlet s perspective, and Hamlet is having an out of body experience. This explains why the audience can still hear Hamlet s thoughts when his lips stop moving. Then upon perchance to dream , the jarring musical cue, camera shift away from Hamlet s head to a more normal frame of his entire body, and Hamlet s opening of his eyes comprise moving outside of Hamlet s head as he wakes from a trance. Hamlet speaks the rest of the monologue out loud, with no audience except himself and the cliffs. The shift from inside Hamlet s mind to outside comes at the tone shift in the speech, the realization that the dreams of death are probably nightmares. Hamlet s desire to express his thoughts about the horrors of life and death out loud is believable and natural. Since the audience has been inside of Hamlet s mind, they are not likely to feel they are intruding upon Hamlet s thoughts. • 37. Fluoridation Of Drinking Water Essay Chemistry and Health: Fluoridation of Drinking Water Chemistry is a significant aspect in our lives; everything around us is made up of matter and the different forms of matter are what make it possible for us to breathe and survive (Nivaldo, 2018, p. 67). Scientists study chemistry based on how it occurs in our everyday lives, health, and in the environment that we live in. Furthermore, chemistry plays a huge role in health in a sense of what is good and bad for the body, or why the body is reacting to a certain substance in the way that it is. Teeth are a vital part of the human body; they help us chew our food so that we are able to swallow, not to mention that they are the first thing that a person looks at when they meet you, if you are smiling of course. So many people are not given the teeth that they want, so they get braces to fix them, while... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is important for everyone to take good care of their teeth and the extent to which they are taken care of can sometimes even determine what overall condition they are in. This makes sense because a person that frequently skips brushing their teeth will most likely have more cavities than a person that brushes their teeth daily, but it can also depend on the things a person is eating or drinking as well. In this paper, I will discuss the ways that fluoridation of drinking water affects our health in ways such as theories, developments, and the role that it plays in society. Theories One of the most commonly heard theories about fluoride is that if consumed in drinking water it can cause damage to your teeth. On page 103 in the book Fluoride in Drinking Water, the National Research Council states,

Ms. Alvarez who was recognized from our previous meeting with her on December 19, 2017, when she had refused to provide her statements since she was legally represented was observed driving the said vehicle. Miss Alvarez was seen exiting the driver side of the car as she walked in a normal gait towards our direction where we waited for Ms. Alvarez inside the Starbuckscoffee shop. We noted that the vehicle appeared to be a newer vehicle which had a paper rear license plate. Before Ms. Alvarez met with us at the coffee shop, we noted that she did not ambulate with any walking devices or walking canes. • 39. The Impact Of Technology On Society Today There is no doubt that technology plays a big role in society today. Whether people like it or not, one thing is definite: technology is not going anywhere. Having grown up in the midst of the digital revolution, technology was going to be a part of my life, and it most definitely has. No matter if it is the Internet, computers, cell phones, tablets, video games; I have been exposed to all of them. However, of all the pieces of technologyI have used, the one I cannot live without would have to be my laptop. This year has opened my eyes to how important it is to have a nice laptop. Whether I am taking notes in class, doing research online, typing a paper, surfing the web, or Skyping my family back home, I am always using my laptop. Sure, I still use my cell phone a lot, but I honestly do not use social media on it as I used to. So really the main purposes for my cell phone are what they should be for; making phone calls and sending texts. If I did not have a laptop, it would make going to school more challenging, I would spend much more time at the library using their computers and could not enjoy lying in bed watching my favorite show on Netflix. Of course I could handle not having a laptop. However, after completing my first year away at school, my eyes have been opened to the importance of having one, and I have seen how dependent I am on mine. I use the technology I use because it makes my life easier, simpler, and more efficient. I also use technology because it
  • 40. Gender Perceptions Of Gender And Gender Stereotypes We often fail to realize how much the minute judgements we make about an individual solely on appearance, affect how we interact with them. For instance, the simple distinction of sex may influence how we regard another person, and thus directly influence our manner of speaking, our body language, even our facial expressions. These judgements are often based off of genderstereotypes, and gender ideology, two concepts so engrained is society we fail to recognize them usually (Guest 2014). To further examine the roles such judgements, play in everyday interactions, I sat in a cafГ© downtown for an hour and people watched, noting who was interacting with whom, and how different traits such as gender, or even social class influence them. Throughout the observation, it was fascinating to see how people let these judgements influence them entirely. Though more interesting may have been the patterns that unfolded. A particularly noticeable trend was one defined by sex. Women generally interacted with more women, while men interacted with more men. In these same sex interactions, women overall seemed more at ease, they maintained more relaxed postures, displayed a wider range of paralanguage, and even spoke at a louder volume. Oddly, men were divided when it came to same sex interactions. If the men were of equal status, they generally sustained good posture, with shoulders rolled back, though minimal tension. When speaking they utilized more paralanguage, especially if the two

Whenever water permeates through the landfill wells, it reacts with organic and inorganic contaminants and then becomes leachate. Introduction: A quote from Adam Smith s book shows the distinguishes between money and wealth : It would be too ridiculous to go about seriously to prove that wealth does not consist in money, or in gold and silver; but in what money purchases, and is valuable only for purchasing. This quote means the money purchases seems to be more important than money itself, in other words, this view is consistent with many economists who think the purchasing power is important. There is two type of fundamental international financial relationships: first is the Purchasing power parity which occurs in goods and services market, the second is the interest parity which occurs in the money market. Both relationships state the association among interest rate, inflation rates, and change in exchange rates. In this paper, I will only focus on discussing the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) and I will divide this paper into four sections. In section 1, I will come up with the definition of PPP and other theories behind it. For section 2, I will briefly introduce the absolute PPP and relative PPP and empirical evidence on PPP. Section 3 explains empirical test of PPP in practice and the problem of PPP. For the last section, there are conclusion and remarks. The overall process can change from bodybuilder to bodybuilder, but they usually have a bulking season and a cutting season. Bulking seasons are indicated by a surplus of calories in order to build as much muscle as possible. While building muscle seems simple enough, they are actually very precise about their lifts and nutrition as they need to keep symmetry amongst their muscles. The purpose of cutting is to have their body at a point of definition where striations can be seen in all of their muscles. The ability to see separation of muscles comes from having a low enough body fat percentage. While cutting, bodybuilders must ensure they are eating enough calories to preserve muscle mass while burning the necessary amount of body fat. This is when having a strict workout regime with a mix of cardio and weight lifting comes into place. Though all ranges of reps have been proven to stimulate muscle growth the traditional range is between eight and twelve reps per lift. A traditional workout will consist of multi joint compound moves as its primary focus with single joint accessory work afterwards. Compound moves include the bench press, dead lift, and squat while accessory lifts include pectoral flies, back extensions, and leg extensions. The list of compound and accessory lifts is far more vast, but these simple examples. There can be extreme variations is styles of lifting which change in accordance to the lifters experience. Cardio is typically only used during cutting season while trying to reach an appropriate body fat percentage.
