Possessing Nature The Women In Frankenstein
In Anne Mellor s article Possessing Nature: The Female in Frankenstein, she
focuses on the role that women play in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. Mellor
explores the patriarchal society by providing evidence for the claim that
Frankenstein is a feminist work. Mellor argues that Victor Frankenstein s downfall
is due to his fear of femininity and his need to become the creator of a human being.
She begins the article with the argument that the division of spheres (public and
private) within the book caused the destruction of many women. Mellor then
explored the spheres that men and women occupied. Men would work outside of the
home while women were confined to the home . This division of spheres had
negative consequences as much for men as they did for... Show more content on

Men lead intellectually satisfying lives with little emotion while women lived the
opposite. They had emotionally exciting lives with little intellectual fulfillment.
Victor excelled in the public sphere but could not perform in the private sphere
because according to Mellor the sexual division of labor does not allow women or
men to have both. Mellor then points out the absence of a strong willed female
character. The De Lacey family was seen as an alternative to the Frankenstein family,
but even they, a family based on justice, gender equality, and mutual affection lack a
mother figure. The monster goes to Victor longing for this strong female
companion but it does not exist. Mellor also explores the idea that Victor s most
passionate relationships are with men. He saw Clerval as his former self and
Mellor describes Walton s responses to Victor as homoerotic. Finally Mellor claims
that Victor rapes nature in the destruction of an equal companion for Frankenstein
and is punished with the very electricity he has stolen. Also with the death of
Elizabeth taking away Victors ability to reproduce Mellor claims that Marry Shelley
s novel portrays the penalty of raping
Spokeo Information Search
With the growth of the internet and technology, we are growing more and more
connected. Whether it was voluntarily given or not, your information is most
likely out there. Over the years, I have done my best to try and reduce or prevent
potential negative or bad information. Have my efforts over the years been
successful or has my personal information still made it online? Spokeo was a great
starting point for my information search. I was able to find my age, email, three
previous/ current phone numbers and my current physical address. What I found
most interesting was that it also listed all my family connections including siblings
and grandparents. Spokeo is a paid service and advertises that it can reveal even
more information if you pay a hefty subscription fee. I searched many other sites that
had small bits of information but Spokeo had the most of my basic information....

Research Paper On Andrew Jackson And The Battle Of
New...
Andrew Jackson and The Battle of New Orleans Andrew Jackson is widely known
for his time as our seventh president, however, he started off as a general and led
the famous Battle of New Orleans. The war started when American ships were
targeted for search and attack by the British Navy. The United States were
outnumbered, yet in the end, we still reigned victorious. By uniting Americans,
Native Americans, and the Baratarian pirates the British were defeated and the treaty
of Ghent was signed and made official, ending the war of 1812.
The War of 1812 (Conflict) The war of 1812 started for many reasons, however,
one of the main reasons was British navy stopping and searching American ships
for former British sailors who abandoned their ships and forcing people to fight for
them. Another reason for the war s start was because motivation of the war hawks of
the US congress to go to war with great Britain was their need to totally expel Great
Britain from the remaining land still under British domain on the North American
Peninsula, (Tim Nash). This need to push Britain out of the North American
peninsula helped the USA grow to be what it is today. As the war heated, America
grew its army to include not only Americans, but also had the Baratarian pirates and
some Native American tribes, though most sided with the British hoping for
independence. [After many American victories, it was time to take back New Orleans]

Comparison Of Nibelungenlied Savagery And Good
Manners
In The Nibelungenlied savagery and good manners have an integral role in the
interactions between characters and the epic as a whole. Proper etiquette is
emphasized within the medieval culture, it is used as a sign of respect and
admiration to one s superior or equal. However, Savagery is often either celebrated
or discounted completely. There are many instances within the epic when an event or
a character s actions could be perceived as ignoble or undignified, usually, such acts
are frowned upon in medieval literature. However, in The Nibelungenliedthese acts
are not only acceptable, in certain instances, they are even praised. Good manners are
often used by characters within the epic in order to gain some sort of political or
strategical advantage. When Siegfried first ventures to Burgundy, he immediately
rushes into kingdom and challenges king Gunther. Instead of participating in war,
Gunther decides that appeasing Siegfried and making an ally of him would be
significantly more productive than battling him and risk losing the lives of many of
his men. Gunther appeases Siegfried by being well mannered and gracious towards
him. Gunther offered The best possible quarters...for Siegfried s squires...Siegfried

Observational, case study, and survey are the three types of research methods. The
first method is the observational method where the behavior of animals and/or
humans are observed in either a natural or laboratory setting (Creswell). The
difference between the two settings is one allows scientists to view the person or
animal in their natural habitat whereas the laboratory setting allows a controlled
environment. Qualitative is the best research for observational (Creswell). Case
studies are a type of research method that leads to a testable hypotheses and often
involves an in depth study of a person or group. The flaw to this type of study is the
errors in bias by the researcher and an individual s own description (Creswell). Case
studies are often quantitative. The survey method is the other research type and
involves having individuals answer questions in the form of a questionnaire or
interview. The survey method involves both qualitative and quantitative research

The Effects Of Outdoor Play On Children
Outdoor Play In today s society, we have increasing numbers of obesity in children.
Researchers are trying to find the answer as to why this is happening. The sad part
is, no one has looked at the numbers of how much time a child spends outside has
decreased over the last decade. We have increasing numbers of technology being
produced on the market and fail to look at how technology has harmed humans in a
biological sense. There has been evidence of blue violet light, produced from smart
phones, is related to macular degeneration, where a macula sits in front of the ocular
nerve prohibit loss of central vision (Newsbeat, 2014). Why should our world fall
into the trap of smartphones and devices and forget about the outdoors? Playing
outdoors stimulates many things for children, along with keeping them healthy. One
blog promotes playing outdoors and explains the enhancement of development that
happens when a child is outside. It s time our children step away from technology
and learn the greatness of the outdoors. Laurie Hollman (2016), a psychoanalyst,
wrote an article on the Huffington post explaining the positive effects of playing
outdoors has on children. When a child is able to play outside, they are first learning
to coordinate their body with their surroundings. This can either be through playing
with a ball, using a swing, playing on a jungle gym, or even playing hop scotch.
When a child is playing with parent outside, they are building a relationship. This

Edward Cornwallis Statue Analysis
There is no doubt that Edward Cornwallis statue has certain significance. Although
the statue has been around for nearly 100 years, it is still intact. The statue of
Cornwallis was created by the Scottish sculptor J. Massey Rhind and was unveiled
at its eponymous park on June 22, 1931. It was considered the 182nd anniversary
of Cornwallis s arrival and watched as the natal day. (Announcement, 1931) The
statue looks attentively to forward, wears a cloak, left hand clenches commanding
sword, right hand holds a cocked hat, bronze figures throughout the mottled with
grooves, eyes reveal that strong ambition and tenacity of one generation leader.
The statue has a straight body, burly back symbolize the courage of Cornwallis and
the magnificent imperialism. The statue is located at center of Cornwallis Park, the
fields were lush with grass and flowers, and tall trees are in order, cluster of
dandelion open in the thick grass, the birds singing on the branch, a group of pigeons
were pecking at the crumbs that people spilled on the ground. Many tourists who
drove to Halifaxwere watching the park and the statue through the window, and
they often use the camera to record here. Five clean paths were staggered between
the bright meadows in the park. Some of the entertainment devices such as swings
and slides are built in the park for children to play and exercise. There are often
many old people enjoying the afternoon sun in long deckchairs. It is hard to imagine

Gender Roles In Jamaica Kincaid s Short Story Girl
Gender roles have held a dominant position in our society since the beginning of
humanity. From birth children learn from their parents and society what feminine
and masculine consist of and the responsibilities that come with either one. Gender,
rather than being a biological concept is cultural one, varying from culture to
culture. Both males and females are categorized by certain mannerisms, behaviors,
and interests that society has set forth expecting them to follow such rules. Women
are expected to play the role of a housewife making sure the home is a livable space
and taking of the children while on the other hand, men are expected to be the ones
who provide income for the family. In Jamaica Kincaid s short story Girl the author

a corner; this is how you sweep a whole house; this is how you sweep a yard. This
excerpt talks about some of the roles her mother believes a woman of her culture
should follow. It shows that ironing, preparing food, and cleaning the house are
traditional female roles and are expected to be done only by the female gender. By
tradition, a man is expected to be the one who brings in the money for the household
and a woman the one to take care of the home. This stereotype sets forward the idea
that for a household to function there must be both genders present. Without a male, a
household won t have an income and without a female there won t be a progressive

Communication is an important element in video analysis. Ideally, a careful analysis
of the different characters in the scene and their role in enhancing interpersonal
communication is much more important. In consideration of this concept the
underlying principles of interpersonal communication, there is a need to assess its
applicability in the movie; Goodfellas. The three minute scene titled, I m funny how,
I mean funny like I m a clown is a reflection of how self concept, perception, and non

the issue of safe sex on college campuses. You need to briefly discuss the 5 steps
and identify relevant information for each step. i.e. in step 1, tell me why safe sex
is a pertinent topic given the population. Provide justification/supporting data as
necessary. The five steps for choosing a theory include the following: identify the
health issue or problem and the population affected, gather information about the
issue or population or both, identify possible reasons or causes for the problems,
identify the level of interaction (intrapersonal, interpersonal, or community) under
which the reason or causes most logically fit, and identify the theory or theories that
best match the level and the reasons or causes. Step one is to identify the health
issue or problem and the population affected. Safe sex is a pertinent topic for college
students, because it is a known fact that many young adults experiment with sex in
college. Some researchers have found that the younger population today is
participating in more casual sex. In other words instead of sexual relationships being
just between a boyfriend and a girlfriend they often are between friends or casual
acquaintances. Considering that college students fall into the young adults category
it would be pertinent to provide education on safe sex. Step two involves gathering
information about the issue or population or both. Safe sex

Due to the late arrival of the defendant, the defense barrister had to apologies on his
behalf, resulting in the judge sanctioning him custody during lunchtime. I was
surprise that see that judge did not say anything more, I am use to judges in
America to be very cross with any party that arrived to the trail late. I had once
witness seen a judge delayed the trail to another day for the lateness of the defense.
But the judge only sanction him so I figure that this may happen more than once.
The defendant s tardiness, as well as his demeanor very nonchalant in court, made
him appear to be unconcerned with the fact that he was on trial. At one point I
thought he was going to fall asleep. This definitely had an impact on his impression
on the jurors as they did not seem happy with his behavior and neither was the judge.
Once the jurors had been sworn in, the prosecuting barrister began with her opening
statement. She reminded the jury of their role, which was to weight up the evidence
in order to decide on the facts of the case. In comparison, the role of the judge was
to interpret the law and direct the jury accordingly. Although there was reference to
statute when the defendant was read his charge, the remainder of the trial was less
concerned with the law and more focused on establishing the facts of the case. The
prosecution called 3 witnesses in total, all of which were police officers. Once they
arrived in the witness stand, they were asked to swear an oath.

Currently the key areas the Army is looking to artificial intelligence are chemical
biological detection, counter explosive hazards, security, interdiction attack, and
long range strike capabilities (US Army, 2010). Deployed soldiers have dozens of
pounds of batteries, ammo, communications equipment and other Items such as
food and water they have to carry on their backs, on top of heavy body armor,
encumbering solders with up to 100lbs of additional weight. While this large
amount of technology, is useful in combat, it can greatly fatigue solders prior to
engagements and can render soldiers severely limited or even ineffective during
sustained engagements with the enemy (Knapik, 1989). It is this reason that the
U.S. Army is experimenting with a variety of remotely controlled and even
wearable machines to lighten this load. Some are deeply quirky, designed to

Sir Isaac Newton Cause And Effect
Cause and Effect: Sir Isaac Newton
We build too many walls and not enough bridges. Greetings, I m Sir Isaac Newton,
the famed scientific discoverer of gravity. My childhood was anything but stable.
Three months after my father died in 1642, I was born a small, premature infant on
January 4th, 1643 in Lincolnshire. My mother remarried when I was 3 and left me
with my grandmother. I hated my stepfather, and despised my mother for marrying
him, even threatening to burn their house down. In school, I found my solace in
books, particularly in science and mechanics. In my first year of college at
Cambridge University, my mother returned and tried to make me a farmer, but
farming was boring and derivative, so my uncle brought me back to school and I
studied color, light, alchemy, history, and religion, particularly the Bible. After the

explained elliptical orbits and the flattening of the poles and bulge at the equator.
It completely changed scientists and people s views of the universe. Robert
accused me of plagiarism, but his claims were invalid. I suffered a mental
breakdown later that year for many reasons and became a recluse. After that I
joined Parliament and saved England s money crisis. It was around that time I
suffered another mental breakdown but recovered quickly. I lived with my niece for
my final years. It was around that time where I told the story of the falling apple that

Escitalopram Research Paper
Escitalopram Lexapro is a widely prescribed selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor
that is used in the treatment of depression and anxiety. Lexapro is also known by
its generic name of escitalopram or s citalopram. History Escitalopram is an
enantiomer of a drug called citalopram. Citalopram was discovered in 1977 and is a
highly powerful and selective serotonin inhibitor. Citalopram has a chiral center due
to its central atom being surrounded by two non matching arrangements of atoms.
These surrounding atoms are called enantiomers and are classified as either r
enantiomers or s enantiomers (Schatzberg Nemeroff, 2013). It was discovered that
many of the positive properties about the drug lie in the s enantiomer, which is 30
times more potent than the r enantiomer (Braestrup Sanchez, 2004). Scientists
removed the r enantiomer, and s citalopram or escitalopram was created. Some
studies have shown that escitalopram may be more effective than citalopram due to
the inhibitory effects of histamine of the r enantiomer (Cipriani, et al., 2012).
Escitalopram was discovered in 1997 and submitted to the Food and Drug
Administration for approval in the United States of America in 2001. It was

1960s when two noteworthy reports characterized U.S. primary care. The decline in
the number of general practitioners led to the evolution of primary care physicians in

The Railroad Era And The Progressive Era
The modern California emerged from the progressive era and World War 1, an
important economic transformation and dramatic population change were under way.
New, thriving industries in oil and the making of motion pictures turned Los Angeles
into a booming manufacturing city just as a new migration brought hundreds of
thousands of residents to the region. The decade after World War 1 was one of rapid
economic development, marked by the evolution of modern, large scale business
organizations and the pervasive influence of the automotive. The railroad era and the
Progressive erahas contributed the transformation of modern California in the first
half of the 20th century.
To begin with, in the 1914 Gertrude Atherton coined the phrase, The terrible
Seventies for a chapter in her book, California, an Intimate History California s, but
not for all.Tens of thousands of farmers, urban laborers, and white collar workers
benefited from the opportunity the railroads brought. The railroad was the most
significant technology to emerge in the nineteenth century. It brought about new
patterns of transportation and communication, which in turn revolutionized
economies, institutions, and social behavior. Railroads not only accelerated
settlement if the West, but aso forgot much of what we call modern in American life.
Like the rest of the nation, California experienced these transformations beginning in
the 1860s and continuing into the early twentieth century that has contributed to

The Opinion Of Justice Binderoff
The opinion of Justice BINDEROFF: According to Article I, Section 8(3) of the
United States Constitution, Congress is granted the power to regulate commerce
with foreign countries, as well as among the several states...; this enumerated
power is what the Commerce Clause describes. This Article has been used to
justify many instances in which Congress has exercised its power to regulate
commerce, especially among states. In this regard, there has been a myriad of
instances in which such exercise of this congressional power has been challenged.
The first instance, was in the case of Gibbons v Ogden (1984), where two men who
had been given exclusive licenses by the state of New York to carry passengers to
Elizabeth Town from New York, filed a suit in court to block another steamship
operator, Gibbons, who had been newly granted a license to carry passengers on that
very route, from competing with them. In this case, the Chief Justice found out that
Congress was right within its powers granted by the Commerce Clause to grant the
ferrying license to Mr. Gibbons. The Chief Justice, Marshal, argued that commerce
was more than just the selling and purchase of goods, but included other parts of the
commercial intercourse between states, such as transport. The argument by the Chief
Justice in this context is important in understanding the extent of commerce that falls
under the Commerce Clause as intended by the framers. In order to understand why

Kudler Fine Foods Accounting System
The purpose of this paper is to describe the value of a new accounting system for
Kudler Fine Foods. The author will cover the key features, core technology, benefits,
and cost of the proposed system.
In businesses today, it is imperative that the accounting system be tied into every
aspect of a business and integrated within all of the information systems in use.
Therefore, before any system is updated or changed, the accounting system must be
considered and analyzed for compatibility and integration. Kudler Fine Foods hired a
consulting firm to assist in the selection and installation of a ... Show more content on

If the transaction is small, the store manager can pay for it out of an impress fund that
each store has. The store manager would then fax the information to F amp; A to be
manually entered into the system.
In my opinion, Kudler Fine Foods could benefit from a holistic Finance and
Accounting system that will allow for better compatibility with the company s other
systems. The current system has a module for each major function and each module
has to maintain compatibility with the other modules. If any upgrades or changes
were to be made on any of the other systems in the company, all of the separate
modules of the Finance and Accounting system would need to be compatible. This
means that there is a greater expense in upgrading or changing any other system in
the company because all systems must be connected to the F amp; A system. A
holistic system that can provide all of the necessary functions needed by the company
all in one program and streamline the process and minimize the costs of upgrading
systems anywhere in the company. In the long run, it would be less costly to first
upgrade the Finance and Accounting system before any other systems are upgraded.
Then the other systems can be tailored around the Finance and Accounting system to
ensure compatibility and to unify the company s business systems. The alternative
A Study On Neurodevelopmental Psychiatric Disorders
Neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders such as autism spectrum disorders,
schizophrenia and anxiety disorders, which typically emerge in children and
adolescents, have been extensively investigated worldwide for decades. The
pathogenesis and mechanism remained unclear, and no effective treatment has been
identified so far. Recently, a variety of studies identified prenatal stress (PS) as a
risk factor for neurodevelopmental socioemotional disorders (Khashan et al., 2008,
Kinney et al., 2008, Ronald et al., 2010, Monk et al., 2012). A popular thesis
proposed that socioemotional disorders arise from PS induced perturbations to early
brain development, especially the neurophysiology of amygdala. Various studies have
shown that the amygdala is implicated in the pathophysiology of neurodevelopmental
psychiatric disorders (Quirk and Gehlert, 2003), also several studies have identified
that PS affects amygdala development (Kraszpulski et al., 2006, Laloux et al., 2012).
However, little is known about how PS influences the amygdala developmental
trajectory. Ehrlich et al. conducted this study to first investigate whether PS has an
effect on socioemotional behavior of adolescents and adults, and secondly whether
and how PS alters amygdala neuronexcitability. They were motivated to explain the
relationship among PS, amygdala neuronal activity and socioemotional behaviors
because understanding the trajectory of brain development can provide potential
targets for intervention of the
Robber Barons By John Davison Rockefeller And Andrew
Carnegie
Robber Barons such as John Davison Rockefeller and Andrew Carnegie were a large
part of the propelling force that led the United States into a new frontier, setting the
standard for the American dream. These men were known for their ingenuity,
intuition, and innovation as business men. Each setting a high standard in their field,
these men set out to accomplish greatness by revolutionizing their industry. They
were known in history as the first men to become giants of the industrialized world,
they created a new ear, and with it legacies that have lasted centuries.
John D. Rockefeller founded the Standard Oil company, and became one of the
wealthiest men in the world, propelling America into a new frontier. In the 19th
century, kerosene was highly demanded, and there were small kerosene
manufacturing companies all over the United States. Rockefeller s early life was
no near the upbringing of a billionaire. His father began as a peddler working to
make ends meet as his mother raised his brothers and sisters. He was given a $100
loan to buy a small boat, but by 1870, he established the Standard Oil company. In
only 10 years, Rockefeller owned 90% of the U.S s oil refineries. During this time,
many accused Rockefeller as participating in unethical business practices. He
collaborated with major railroads to eliminate his competition and used predatory
pricing as well as horizontal integration to monopolize the entire oil industry. In
1886, Rockefeller took out a loan to buy

Eskimo Pie (Stand Alone Value)
Stand Alone Value
There are many valuation methods that could be used to evaluate this company.
Finding a method that valuates the stand alone value is difficult. The stand alone
value should be dependent upon the firm’s own assets and projected future
income. We decided to evaluate this company based upon two methods: The
Discounted Cash Flow Method and the Comparable Companies Method.
Discounted Cash Flow Method takes the forecast free cash flows during forecasted
horizon. Then we estimate the cost of capital (weighted average cost of capital) and
estimate continuing value (value after forecast horizon). The future value is
discounted to the present value. We than add back cash ($13 Million) and non current

Like all acquired synergies, only time after the acquisition will provide if the synergy

Who will benefit
Reynolds Metals will benefit more financially by not selling to Nestle Foods. Both
estimated stand alone values are less then the purchase price, but Reynolds Metals
will have to pay significantly high capital gains by selling to Nestle. Capital gain
taxes will take a large sum of the cash.
On the other hand, Nestle will benefit from the purchase because it will get a tax
break from borrowing money to the purchase company and as mention above, buying
Eskimo Pie will lower overhead cost by eliminating Eskimo Pie management and
Nestle utilizing existing facilities and eliminating sublicensing costs creating greater
cash flows.
Based on the projections, Eskimo Pie Company is expecting sales growth
estimated at 15%. It is also undervalued compared to its industry average. Doing
the IPO will create higher market value of the company and generate enough cash
to finance the IPO. In addition, the IPO will benefit senior management,
employees, and the community. If Reynolds Metals is concerned about receiving
cash, they will receive upfront of 84% of $15 Million dollars of dividends and the
value of the stock would increase because it will be valued based on the market.

What Is The Consumption In The Masque Of The Red Death
Edgar Allen Poe, completely transformed the horror genre with his tales reflecting
the psychological depth and insight of the the human conditon not previously seen
(Poe Museum, no date). Despite his alignment with the horror genre, he was initially
taken in by the romantic ideals of consumption. This is portrayed in one of his early
short stories, Metzengerstein , from 1832, where despite the majority of the story
following many gothic conventions, the protaganist s mother dies of consumption.
The narrrator of the story asserts that ...it is a path I have prayed to follow...I would
wish all I love to perish of that gentle disease when referring to the mother s
impending death. The narrator s desperation to die from consumption is implied
through the use of the verb prayed . This verb has connotations of wishing or hoping
strongly for a particular outcome (Oxford Dictionaries, 2017): despite the horrific and
drawn out process of the disease that we now understand in the 21st Century, this
character still desires it thus reflecting the general insensitivty towards the disease.
Although influenced early in his career by the romanticized stance on consumption,
he changed his portrayal of the disease completely in his short storyThe Masque of
the Red Death , published in 1842. Very little had advanced in the medical
understanding of consumption, but between Poe writing the aforementioned text and
The Masque of the Red Death , his own wife had contracted the disease

responsiveness are they aiming to achieve? Like all companies that strive to make

The strategy incorporates the strengths and potential of all sectors at the functional

They are well within reach of closing the loop by making full use of their
competitive advantages through effective information flows, physical flows and
reducing monetary costs. 2. What risks does a retailer aiming for this level of
responsiveness face? a. Threat of Duplicity3: Noticing the efficiency and
effectiveness of the present operations and supply chain system, a lot of
competitive players will try to replicate this system. However, in the case of 7
Eleven, it becomes extremely difficult to do so because the information system in
the form of the Graphic order terminals for placing orders linked to the store
computer, scanner terminals to scan deliveries from the distribution center, store
computers that link to the ISDN network and the POS registers linked to the store
computer cost huge sums of money. This along with the sophisticated system of
combined distribution forms a reasonable barrier against the threat of new entrants.
b. Relationship management: Maintaining solid relationships for retailers with the
actors both upstream and downstream of the supply chain is essential like in the
case of 7 Eleven stores. As can be seen from the case, none of these DCs carry any
inventory but merely transfer inventory from supplier trucks to Seven Eleven
distribution trucks. These items are delivered from a total of 152 companies and 201
plants. The transportation is provided by Transfleet Ltd., for the exclusive use of

Fence Rail Research Paper
Has the chain link fence rail surrounding your commercial property recently been
bent in a storm or as the result of an intruder? If so, you may be worried that
repairing this damage will cost a small fortune and require the use of a professional
contractor. However, the truth is, you can limit the impact that these repairs have on
your budget by simply choosing to do the job yourself. Best of all, completing this
task can be much easier than you think when simply following the steps outlined
below.
Supplies You Will Need

Step 1: Remove Damaged Rail
Begin by removing the section of damaged rail by cutting the rail into manageable
sections using a hacksaw. The friction caused by this sawing process may result in
hot metal sparks. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Begin by measuring the space between your fencing posts to ensure you are
choosing the right size rail for the job. Next, remove the post cap, brace bands, and
tension bands from the fencing post on one side of the new rail. This will allow you
to slide the new rail into place.
After sliding the rail into place, simply attach the end of the rail to the rail cap. Next,
replace the brace bands to hold the rail in place.
Step 3: Attach Chain Link
Stretch the chain link over the posts and ensure that the brace bands and post caps
are in place before using your pliers to tighten the bolts that connect this fencing
material to your newly installed rail. While this process can be completed on your
own, it is much easier to complete with two set of hands so don t be afraid to ask a
co worker or friend for help.
Once the chain link is in place, reattach the tension bars that were removed in the
previous step. This will hold the fencing tight between the surrounding fence posts.
Finally, use your tie wires to secure the chain link to your new top rail.

Auschwitz-Birkenau
The event that took place during World War 2 were dreadful,
frightening, and horrifying, affecting not only Jews, but many others as well.
During this time, many Jews were separated and forced into concentration
camps under the control of Adolf Hitler. Arguably, the worst concentration
camp during the Holocaust was Auschwitz Birkenau; it was a
killing center where over 3 million European Jews died and prisoners
were doomed to slave labor and death. Experiencing these cruel conditions
can drastically change people s lives in an instant, which is shown throughout
the novel, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, by John Boyne. One of the main
characters, Shmuel, is a victim of the death camp, Auschwitz Birkenau and
its brutal environment.
The Power of Music in James Baldwin s Sonny s Blues Essay
The Power of Music in James Baldwin s Sonny s Blues
At first glance, Sonny s Blues seems ambiguous about the relationship between
music and drugs. After all, the worlds of jazz and drug addiction are historically
intertwined; it could be possible that Sonny s passion for jazz is merely an excuse
for his lifestyle and addiction, as the narrator believes for a time. Or perhaps the
world that Sonny has entered by becoming involved in jazz is the danger if he had
not encountered jazz he wouldn t have encountered drugs either. But the clues given
by the portrayals of music and what it does for other figures in the story demonstrate
music s beneficial nature; music and drugs are not interdependent for Sonny. By

The battered barmaid also needs music to insulate her from the perils of her life.
She dances to something black and bouncy playing on the jukebox, keeps time,
smiling, and when she smiles the reader can see both the innocent and joyous little
girl she will always be and the woman still struggling for life and dignity, even
though these two personalities are hidden underneath the face of a semi whore
(412). She is quicksilver when the music plays; there is still life in her that can be
coaxed to the surface. She watches the jukebox in the pause between songs, waiting
for the music to begin again, to renew her life and energy and hope. Music reveals
this woman as she really is, not as she has become, not as her environment has made
her. Just as it is for the whistling schoolboy, music for this woman is a small salvation.
Many more moments like these are worked into the story. The mother hums a hymn
under her breath; it comforts her while she watches for Sonny, who is out on the
streets (419). The narrator whistles to keep from crying after Sonny refuses his
attempts at reconciliation (428). These bits of music are tiny but significant; small
musics performed by non musicians demonstrate how music creates good feelings.
The mother may be singing off key and the narrator probably whistles flat, but
because of their nature as song these tunes are suffused with bits of happiness, and by
making the music, the
The Role Of External Factors That Affect Student...
However, Tinto s Model, according to Carrera, Nora, and CastaГ±eda (1993), has a
major gap. The Model fails to address the role of external factors which shape student
perceptions, commitments, and preferences. Tinto s Limits of Theory and Practice in
student Attrition (1982) would address these external factors.
The Student Attrition Model proposes that behavioral intentions are shaped by a
process wherein beliefs shape attitudes, and these attitudes influence behavioral
intents. These beliefs are presumed to be affected by a student s experience while
attending an institution. The Model also recognizes that external factors can also
affect student attitudes and decisions while attending college (Carrera, Nora,
CastaГ±eda, 1993).Spady (1970, 1971) was the first one to propose that institutional
change was necessary in an effort to address student persistence issues. In 1975, Tinto
produced additional research on student persistence, and placed emphasis on how the
relationship between students, society, and the institution were contributors to
student success.
Because of the need to increase the number of Hispanic male student who persist and
successfully complete in higher education, it is logical to conduct inquiry based
activities, interviews, and surveys among groups of Hispanic male students to gain
more insights into the challenges being faced by these students. It is through these
groups that a researcher can gain a better understanding as students will have the

(hill type garden) Karesansui Gardens (dry garden) and Chaniwa Gardens (tea

Tsukiyama Gardens: ponds, hills, rocks, trees, flowers, bridges and paths are used to
create a miniature reproduction of a natural landscape that is often famous in China
or Japan. The name Tsukiyama refers to the creation of artificial hills.
Karesansui Gardens illustrate natural landscapes in a more abstract way, using stones,
sand and some paths bags for the most representative mountains, islands, rivers and

The United States Of America Fought For Independence
The United States of America fought for independence in 1775 until 1783. After
the war, the newly independent Americans needed a new government. The
Continental Congress, after years of debate and drafting, decided to adopt the
Articles of Confederation in 1781. The first draft was proposed in 1775, but never
acted upon. Many drafts were proposed, six, to be exact, and in 1777 it was given
to the states for approval. Maryland was the last to ratify it, given to concerns of
lands to the west. After this was settled, they approved and the Articles of
Confederationwent into effect on March 1, 1781 ( Articles of Confederation. ).
However, none of these six drafts compared to the document of the U.S. Constitution
in 1787. This document changes the union from a loose group of friendly states
allowed to attend to almost all affairs, to states united under a federal government.
Not all of the founding fathers thought that this document was good, though. The
debates were between two parties, the federalists and the anti federalists. The anti
federalists thought that the constitution gave the federal government too much
power. Despite these fears, the constitution was ratified. To this day government
officials argue about legitimacy of laws and whether the federal government or the
states have the right to pass the laws in question. All throughout the time that the
United Stateshas operated under the constitution, it has been a fight between views of

Virtually all of the futures exchanges in the United States date from the late
nineteenth or early twentieth century. They all started as commodity exchanges, but
since the early 1980s trade in financial futures has become more and more important
for most of them. Until 1998, the Chicago Board of Trade used to be the world=s
largest futures exchange, but is now the second largest place with a volume of 255
million contracts in 1999 (11 per cent of total world volume). The Chicago

Most of the products traded are agricultural (with some processed products traded
in a few countries), but the Government of Colombia is looking at the possibility of
introducing a commodity exchange for emeralds. The trading possibilities offered
by the exchanges vary widely. Most provide a forum for the trade in physical
commodities, but some also enable forward trading; in Colombia, the exchange
also trades the Acredit@ part of warehouse receipts (in Latin America, warehouse
receipts consist of two parts, one which gives rights to the commodities, and one
which is used for credit purposes). The creation of a commodity futures exchange
was proposed by a major private sector group in Chile in the late 1980s; the
proposed exchange would trade in domestic food grains and in fishmeal, but plans
for it have not yet been finalised. In Paraguay, the Government considered the
possibilities for the introduction of an exchange. Progress towards the introduction
of an exchange is quite advanced in the Dominican Republic; it is planned to
introduce warehouse receipt trading for beans and coffee. In Venezuela, a group
already active in trading warehouse receipts over the counter is also working on the
creation of an exchange.

  • 2. Possessing Nature The Women In Frankenstein In Anne Mellor s article Possessing Nature: The Female in Frankenstein, she focuses on the role that women play in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. Mellor explores the patriarchal society by providing evidence for the claim that Frankenstein is a feminist work. Mellor argues that Victor Frankenstein s downfall is due to his fear of femininity and his need to become the creator of a human being. She begins the article with the argument that the division of spheres (public and private) within the book caused the destruction of many women. Mellor then explored the spheres that men and women occupied. Men would work outside of the home while women were confined to the home . This division of spheres had negative consequences as much for men as they did for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Men lead intellectually satisfying lives with little emotion while women lived the opposite. They had emotionally exciting lives with little intellectual fulfillment. Victor excelled in the public sphere but could not perform in the private sphere because according to Mellor the sexual division of labor does not allow women or men to have both. Mellor then points out the absence of a strong willed female character. The De Lacey family was seen as an alternative to the Frankenstein family, but even they, a family based on justice, gender equality, and mutual affection lack a mother figure. The monster goes to Victor longing for this strong female companion but it does not exist. Mellor also explores the idea that Victor s most passionate relationships are with men. He saw Clerval as his former self and Mellor describes Walton s responses to Victor as homoerotic. Finally Mellor claims that Victor rapes nature in the destruction of an equal companion for Frankenstein and is punished with the very electricity he has stolen. Also with the death of Elizabeth taking away Victors ability to reproduce Mellor claims that Marry Shelley s novel portrays the penalty of raping

Whether it was voluntarily given or not, your information is most likely out there. Over the years, I have done my best to try and reduce or prevent potential negative or bad information. Have my efforts over the years been successful or has my personal information still made it online? Spokeo was a great starting point for my information search. I was able to find my age, email, three previous/ current phone numbers and my current physical address. What I found most interesting was that it also listed all my family connections including siblings and grandparents. Spokeo is a paid service and advertises that it can reveal even more information if you pay a hefty subscription fee. I searched many other sites that had small bits of information but Spokeo had the most of my basic information.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was concerning because I was unaware that you could search for VIN numbers so easily just by searching a name. Also, my past speeding tickets dated back from 2011 were online and were very easy to access via San Bernardino public records. The website that gave away the most information was one that I added it in all myself, LinkedIn. It included my entire work history, photos and education history. LinkedIn seemed like a great networking website, but over time I learned that it leaking information to other sources. I don t believe the networking opportunities are worth the breach in information security and I will be deactivating my account. It is easy to trust a social media site but it is important to remember that the information that we add to website doesn t always stay where we input

Andrew Jackson and The Battle of New Orleans Andrew Jackson is widely known for his time as our seventh president, however, he started off as a general and led the famous Battle of New Orleans. The war started when American ships were targeted for search and attack by the British Navy. The United States were outnumbered, yet in the end, we still reigned victorious. By uniting Americans, Native Americans, and the Baratarian pirates the British were defeated and the treaty of Ghent was signed and made official, ending the war of 1812. The War of 1812 (Conflict) The war of 1812 started for many reasons, however, one of the main reasons was British navy stopping and searching American ships for former British sailors who abandoned their ships and forcing people to fight for them. Another reason for the war s start was because motivation of the war hawks of the US congress to go to war with great Britain was their need to totally expel Great Britain from the remaining land still under British domain on the North American Peninsula, (Tim Nash). This need to push Britain out of the North American peninsula helped the USA grow to be what it is today. As the war heated, America grew its army to include not only Americans, but also had the Baratarian pirates and some Native American tribes, though most sided with the British hoping for independence. [After many American victories, it was time to take back New Orleans] Working Together One of the most surprising thing about

The first method is the observational method where the behavior of animals and/or humans are observed in either a natural or laboratory setting (Creswell). The difference between the two settings is one allows scientists to view the person or animal in their natural habitat whereas the laboratory setting allows a controlled environment. Qualitative is the best research for observational (Creswell). Case studies are a type of research method that leads to a testable hypotheses and often involves an in depth study of a person or group. The flaw to this type of study is the errors in bias by the researcher and an individual s own description (Creswell). Case studies are often quantitative. Researchers are trying to find the answer as to why this is happening. The sad part is, no one has looked at the numbers of how much time a child spends outside has decreased over the last decade. We have increasing numbers of technology being produced on the market and fail to look at how technology has harmed humans in a biological sense. There has been evidence of blue violet light, produced from smart phones, is related to macular degeneration, where a macula sits in front of the ocular nerve prohibit loss of central vision (Newsbeat, 2014). Why should our world fall into the trap of smartphones and devices and forget about the outdoors? Playing outdoors stimulates many things for children, along with keeping them healthy. One blog promotes playing outdoors and explains the enhancement of development that happens when a child is outside. It s time our children step away from technology and learn the greatness of the outdoors. Laurie Hollman (2016), a psychoanalyst, wrote an article on the Huffington post explaining the positive effects of playing outdoors has on children. When a child is able to play outside, they are first learning to coordinate their body with their surroundings. This can either be through playing with a ball, using a swing, playing on a jungle gym, or even playing hop scotch. When a child is playing with parent outside, they are building a relationship. This

Both males and females are categorized by certain mannerisms, behaviors, and interests that society has set forth expecting them to follow such rules. Women are expected to play the role of a housewife making sure the home is a livable space and taking of the children while on the other hand, men are expected to be the ones who provide income for the family. By tradition, a man is expected to be the one who brings in the money for the household and a woman the one to take care of the home. This stereotype sets forward the idea that for a household to function there must be both genders present. You need to briefly discuss the 5 steps and identify relevant information for each step. i.e. in step 1, tell me why safe sex is a pertinent topic given the population. Provide justification/supporting data as necessary. The five steps for choosing a theory include the following: identify the health issue or problem and the population affected, gather information about the issue or population or both, identify possible reasons or causes for the problems, identify the level of interaction (intrapersonal, interpersonal, or community) under which the reason or causes most logically fit, and identify the theory or theories that best match the level and the reasons or causes. Step one is to identify the health issue or problem and the population affected. Safe sex is a pertinent topic for college students, because it is a known fact that many young adults experiment with sex in college. Some researchers have found that the younger population today is participating in more casual sex. The defendant s tardiness, as well as his demeanor very nonchalant in court, made him appear to be unconcerned with the fact that he was on trial. At one point I thought he was going to fall asleep. This definitely had an impact on his impression on the jurors as they did not seem happy with his behavior and neither was the judge. Once the jurors had been sworn in, the prosecuting barrister began with her opening statement. She reminded the jury of their role, which was to weight up the evidence in order to decide on the facts of the case. In comparison, the role of the judge was to interpret the law and direct the jury accordingly. Although there was reference to statute when the defendant was read his charge, the remainder of the trial was less concerned with the law and more focused on establishing the facts of the case. The prosecution called 3 witnesses in total, all of which were police officers. Once they arrived in the witness stand, they were asked to swear an oath.

Lexapro is also known by its generic name of escitalopram or s citalopram. History Escitalopram is an enantiomer of a drug called citalopram. Citalopram was discovered in 1977 and is a highly powerful and selective serotonin inhibitor. Citalopram has a chiral center due to its central atom being surrounded by two non matching arrangements of atoms. These surrounding atoms are called enantiomers and are classified as either r enantiomers or s enantiomers (Schatzberg Nemeroff, 2013). It was discovered that many of the positive properties about the drug lie in the s enantiomer, which is 30 times more potent than the r enantiomer (Braestrup Sanchez, 2004). Scientists removed the r enantiomer, and s citalopram or escitalopram was created. Some studies have shown that escitalopram may be more effective than citalopram due to the inhibitory effects of histamine of the r enantiomer (Cipriani, et al., 2012). This Article has been used to justify many instances in which Congress has exercised its power to regulate commerce, especially among states. In this regard, there has been a myriad of instances in which such exercise of this congressional power has been challenged. The first instance, was in the case of Gibbons v Ogden (1984), where two men who had been given exclusive licenses by the state of New York to carry passengers to Elizabeth Town from New York, filed a suit in court to block another steamship operator, Gibbons, who had been newly granted a license to carry passengers on that very route, from competing with them. Recently, a variety of studies identified prenatal stress (PS) as a risk factor for neurodevelopmental socioemotional disorders (Khashan et al., 2008, Kinney et al., 2008, Ronald et al., 2010, Monk et al., 2012). A popular thesis proposed that socioemotional disorders arise from PS induced perturbations to early brain development, especially the neurophysiology of amygdala. Various studies have shown that the amygdala is implicated in the pathophysiology of neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders (Quirk and Gehlert, 2003), also several studies have identified that PS affects amygdala development (Kraszpulski et al., 2006, Laloux et al., 2012). However, little is known about how PS influences the amygdala developmental trajectory. Ehrlich et al. conducted this study to first investigate whether PS has an effect on socioemotional behavior of adolescents and adults, and secondly whether and how PS alters amygdala neuronexcitability. • 33. What Is The Consumption In The Masque Of The Red Death Edgar Allen Poe, completely transformed the horror genre with his tales reflecting the psychological depth and insight of the the human conditon not previously seen (Poe Museum, no date). Despite his alignment with the horror genre, he was initially taken in by the romantic ideals of consumption. This is portrayed in one of his early short stories, Metzengerstein , from 1832, where despite the majority of the story following many gothic conventions, the protaganist s mother dies of consumption. The narrrator of the story asserts that ...it is a path I have prayed to follow...I would wish all I love to perish of that gentle disease when referring to the mother s impending death. The narrator s desperation to die from consumption is implied through the use of the verb prayed . This verb has connotations of wishing or hoping strongly for a particular outcome (Oxford Dictionaries, 2017): despite the horrific and drawn out process of the disease that we now understand in the 21st Century, this character still desires it thus reflecting the general insensitivty towards the disease. Although influenced early in his career by the romanticized stance on consumption, he changed his portrayal of the disease completely in his short storyThe Masque of the Red Death , published in 1842. Very little had advanced in the medical understanding of consumption, but between Poe writing the aforementioned text and The Masque of the Red Death , his own wife had contracted the disease

They are well within reach of closing the loop by making full use of their competitive advantages through effective information flows, physical flows and reducing monetary costs. 2. What risks does a retailer aiming for this level of responsiveness face? a. Threat of Duplicity3: Noticing the efficiency and effectiveness of the present operations and supply chain system, a lot of competitive players will try to replicate this system. However, in the case of 7 Eleven, it becomes extremely difficult to do so because the information system in the form of the Graphic order terminals for placing orders linked to the store computer, scanner terminals to scan deliveries from the distribution center, store computers that link to the ISDN network and the POS registers linked to the store computer cost huge sums of money. This along with the sophisticated system of combined distribution forms a reasonable barrier against the threat of new entrants. b. Relationship management: Maintaining solid relationships for retailers with the actors both upstream and downstream of the supply chain is essential like in the case of 7 Eleven stores. As can be seen from the case, none of these DCs carry any inventory but merely transfer inventory from supplier trucks to Seven Eleven distribution trucks. These items are delivered from a total of 152 companies and 201 plants. The transportation is provided by Transfleet Ltd., for the exclusive use of Seven Eleven

If so, you may be worried that repairing this damage will cost a small fortune and require the use of a professional contractor. However, the truth is, you can limit the impact that these repairs have on your budget by simply choosing to do the job yourself. Best of all, completing this task can be much easier than you think when simply following the steps outlined below. Supplies You Will Need hacksaw tape measure fence rail tie wires pliers Step 1: Remove Damaged Rail Begin by removing the section of damaged rail by cutting the rail into manageable sections using a hacksaw. The friction caused by this sawing process may result in hot metal sparks. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Begin by measuring the space between your fencing posts to ensure you are choosing the right size rail for the job. Next, remove the post cap, brace bands, and tension bands from the fencing post on one side of the new rail. This will allow you to slide the new rail into place. After sliding the rail into place, simply attach the end of the rail to the rail cap. Next, replace the brace bands to hold the rail in place. Step 3: Attach Chain Link Stretch the chain link over the posts and ensure that the brace bands and post caps are in place before using your pliers to tighten the bolts that connect this fencing material to your newly installed rail. While this process can be completed on your own, it is much easier to complete with two set of hands so don t be afraid to ask a co worker or friend for help. Once the chain link is in place, reattach the tension bars that were removed in the previous step. This will hold the fencing tight between the surrounding fence posts. Finally, use your tie wires to secure the chain link to your new top rail. In

During this time, many Jews were separated and forced into concentration camps under the control of Adolf Hitler. Arguably, the worst concentration camp during the Holocaust was Auschwitz Birkenau; it was a killing center where over 3 million European Jews died and prisoners were doomed to slave labor and death. Experiencing these cruel conditions can drastically change people s lives in an instant, which is shown throughout the novel, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, by John Boyne. One of the main characters, Shmuel, is a victim of the death camp, Auschwitz Birkenau and its brutal environment.
  • 37. The Power of Music in James Baldwin s Sonny s Blues Essay The Power of Music in James Baldwin s Sonny s Blues At first glance, Sonny s Blues seems ambiguous about the relationship between music and drugs. After all, the worlds of jazz and drug addiction are historically intertwined; it could be possible that Sonny s passion for jazz is merely an excuse for his lifestyle and addiction, as the narrator believes for a time. Or perhaps the world that Sonny has entered by becoming involved in jazz is the danger if he had not encountered jazz he wouldn t have encountered drugs either. But the clues given by the portrayals of music and what it does for other figures in the story demonstrate music s beneficial nature; music and drugs are not interdependent for Sonny. She dances to something black and bouncy playing on the jukebox, keeps time, smiling, and when she smiles the reader can see both the innocent and joyous little girl she will always be and the woman still struggling for life and dignity, even though these two personalities are hidden underneath the face of a semi whore (412). She is quicksilver when the music plays; there is still life in her that can be coaxed to the surface. She watches the jukebox in the pause between songs, waiting for the music to begin again, to renew her life and energy and hope. Music reveals this woman as she really is, not as she has become, not as her environment has made her. Just as it is for the whistling schoolboy, music for this woman is a small salvation. Many more moments like these are worked into the story. The mother hums a hymn under her breath; it comforts her while she watches for Sonny, who is out on the streets (419). The narrator whistles to keep from crying after Sonny refuses his attempts at reconciliation (428). These bits of music are tiny but significant; small musics performed by non musicians demonstrate how music creates good feelings. The mother may be singing off key and the narrator probably whistles flat, but because of their nature as song these tunes are suffused with bits of happiness, and by making the music, the
  • 38. The Role Of External Factors That Affect Student... However, Tinto s Model, according to Carrera, Nora, and CastaГ±eda (1993), has a major gap. The Model fails to address the role of external factors which shape student perceptions, commitments, and preferences. Tinto s Limits of Theory and Practice in student Attrition (1982) would address these external factors. The Student Attrition Model proposes that behavioral intentions are shaped by a process wherein beliefs shape attitudes, and these attitudes influence behavioral intents. These beliefs are presumed to be affected by a student s experience while attending an institution. The Model also recognizes that external factors can also affect student attitudes and decisions while attending college (Carrera, Nora, CastaГ±eda, 1993).Spady (1970, 1971) was the first one to propose that institutional change was necessary in an effort to address student persistence issues. In 1975, Tinto produced additional research on student persistence, and placed emphasis on how the relationship between students, society, and the institution were contributors to student success. Because of the need to increase the number of Hispanic male student who persist and successfully complete in higher education, it is logical to conduct inquiry based activities, interviews, and surveys among groups of Hispanic male students to gain more insights into the challenges being faced by these students. It is through these groups that a researcher can gain a better understanding as students will have the

  • 42. The United States Of America Fought For Independence The United States of America fought for independence in 1775 until 1783. After the war, the newly independent Americans needed a new government. The Continental Congress, after years of debate and drafting, decided to adopt the Articles of Confederation in 1781. The first draft was proposed in 1775, but never acted upon. Many drafts were proposed, six, to be exact, and in 1777 it was given to the states for approval. Maryland was the last to ratify it, given to concerns of lands to the west. After this was settled, they approved and the Articles of Confederationwent into effect on March 1, 1781 ( Articles of Confederation. ). However, none of these six drafts compared to the document of the U.S. Constitution in 1787. This document changes the union from a loose group of friendly states allowed to attend to almost all affairs, to states united under a federal government. Not all of the founding fathers thought that this document was good, though. The debates were between two parties, the federalists and the anti federalists. The anti federalists thought that the constitution gave the federal government too much power. Despite these fears, the constitution was ratified. To this day government officials argue about legitimacy of laws and whether the federal government or the states have the right to pass the laws in question. All throughout the time that the United Stateshas operated under the constitution, it has been a fight between views of centralism and

Cocoa UNCTAD COMMODITY EXCHANGES AROUND THE WORLD By the UNCTAD Secretariat в€ — Virtually all of the futures exchanges in the United States date from the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. They all started as commodity exchanges, but since the early 1980s trade in financial futures has become more and more important for most of them. Until 1998, the Chicago Board of Trade used to be the world=s largest futures exchange, but is now the second largest place with a volume of 255 million contracts in 1999 (11 per cent of total world volume). Most of the products traded are agricultural (with some processed products traded in a few countries), but the Government of Colombia is looking at the possibility of introducing a commodity exchange for emeralds. The trading possibilities offered by the exchanges vary widely. Most provide a forum for the trade in physical commodities, but some also enable forward trading; in Colombia, the exchange also trades the Acredit@ part of warehouse receipts (in Latin America, warehouse receipts consist of two parts, one which gives rights to the commodities, and one which is used for credit purposes). The creation of a commodity futures exchange was proposed by a major private sector group in Chile in the late 1980s; the proposed exchange would trade in domestic food grains and in fishmeal, but plans for it have not yet been finalised. In Paraguay, the Government considered the possibilities for the introduction of an exchange. Progress towards the introduction of an exchange is quite advanced in the Dominican Republic; it is planned to introduce warehouse receipt trading for beans and coffee. In Venezuela, a group already active in trading warehouse receipts over the counter is also working on the creation of an exchange. 6 UNCTAD Europe is home to both some of the world=s oldest and some of the world=s newest commodity exchanges.
