Do you know  the parts of a story?
A story is a fiction text.
Fiction means it’s NOT TRUE.
The people in stories are called characters…
They can be  good. (protagonist)
They can be bad. (antagonist)
Or somewhere in between.
The story can be about ONE character…
Or many characters …
Usually there is a main character…
Like…
  Junie B. Jones…
or
Stories have settings.
What does the  setting tell you?
Where…
or when…
… a story takes place
There’s usually a problem…
It could be a little problem
It could be a big problem .
The characters have to find a  solution.
A solution  is a way  to solve  the problem.
But what about stories that are TRUE?
They are called Non-Fiction.
Some are
Biographies are books written about someone’s life.
When you write a book about yourself…
It’s called an  autobiography.
But not all non-fiction books are about people…
Some are about science…
Some are about social studies…
Some are about animals…
Others are about places…
There are SO many different kinds of books!
Where can you find a good book?
You can visit our classroom library…
You can try the school library..
Or your community library…
You can go here…
Or here…
But it doesn’t matter what…
Or where …
Or how…
you read
As long as you READ!!!
