This document defines and provides examples of simple subjects and predicates in sentences. It explains that the subject is the person, thing, or idea a sentence is about and contains a simple subject, usually a noun or pronoun. The predicate tells something about the subject and contains a simple predicate or verb. Examples of simple subjects and predicates are provided to illustrate these concepts. Readers are then asked to identify the subject and predicate in sample sentences.
