Digital Research in Low-Resource CountriesQualtrics
When you’re doing research in areas with no internet, collecting and analysing the data could be a pain. Lando and David from Health Focus spoke at Qualtrics Converge Europe about how they’re collecting data using the offline app in order to avoid the costly and time-consuming research often needed in low-resource countries.
Recipe for success: balancing the art & science of employee feedbackQualtrics
Disruption is affecting organisations everywhere – and it’s the same for their employees according to Google’s Yuval Dvir. In the case of a city you are selling an open ended “life journey” rather than a well-defined experience built around a particular product. This covers a wide range of possibilities like the ability to come visit, live, study, work, or invest. Accordingly, there are there are a seemingly infinite number of city touchpoints and stakeholders that cannot be under direct control. For example, whilst more than 600,000 people shall visit King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) this year a significant challenge looms. A city is a connected web of experiences, so just one bad moment can affect the entire visitor’s enjoyment in the city.
Zachary Jean Paradis: Service Design & Product Management: Friends or Foes?Service Design Network
As every discipline evolves their practice, and gets better at creating value, contemporary organizations are being caught between potentially conflicting approaches. Service design, modern product management, and lean startup-like new offering innovation processes all purport to be a path to drive customer-centered, business-driving results! Yet, there seems to be little to zero understanding of how these fit together, or if they are in direct conflict. This presentation will propose a model to drive clarity in how potentially conflicting approaches are actually complementary, specifically in the context of business favored topic of the day–Digital Business Transformation.
Cork County Council delivers over 500 public services to a population of c. 416,000 citizens. The diverse and evolving needs of our citizens pose challenges for us as an organisation and to individual staff on the frontline of service delivery. In our experience, embarking on a process of organisational introspection alone is not enough. Reaching out to our customers and truly understanding their needs was the catalyst for holistic reform in how we design and deliver our services.
This talk charts the establishment and empowerment of a dedicated Service Design Centre in Cork County Council. It demonstrates how this, in turn, has led to an environment where innovation thrives and customer-focused, design-thinking is not only becoming the cultural norm; but is delivering meaningful and measurable results for our citizens.
The term digital transformation has been bandied about too much, covering everything from business transformation, the creation of efficiencies and new websites to playing with new digital platforms. In reality, it’s business transformation – but with a focus on customers and stakeholders with digital technologies as the catalyst for change. Success is determined by an organisation’s ability to unite and empower their people, processes and products. Only this will generate customer-centric experiences that perform effectively. Danny’s talk explores Cyber-Duck’s top tips for successful digital transformations, drawing on his experience guiding clients through risks and opportunities.

Innovation accounting and key metrics for startupsBlaz Kos
The traditional accounting in start-ups is usually incredibly simple - revenues, margins, free cash flow and other traditional accounting metrics are zero or very close to zero.
It is also impossible to do financial forecasts for start-ups (P&L, balance sheet,...) since accurate forecasting requires a long and stable operating history. Therefore a start-up must focus on the key metrics that show real progress in the search mode before becoming a stable business and use innovation accounting instead of traditional accounting as a framework for measuring performance.
The presentation covers the basics of being a data-driven organization, the difference between vanity, actionable and other types of metrics, why you should focus on one metrics that matter in different stages of a start-up, what are the common pitfalls when analyzing the data and how to use AARRR as the best framework for analytics, especially for web start-ups.

Big data has been hyped so heavily that CMO’s are expecting it to be ‘the’ miracle solution in today’s complex marketing environment. However, what we’re actually seeing, is that most companies are already struggling with the small amount of data they already have accumulated. The trouble is most obvious on these three levels: companies don’t know how to manage the data, companies don’t know how to analyze the data so as to yield insights, companies don’t know how to act upon the new insights. Of course technology is needed. But even more so, a cultural shift in how CMO’s run their daily marketing operations is definitely required. The good news is that, once CMO’s have accomplished this cultural change, they usually don’t go back. Because they realize they now have a huge competitive advantage. Now, those forward-thinking CMO’s are able to use customer data to their advantage by delivering more targeted and relevant messages to people. During this session, you will discover how to embrace the power of data and turn it into gold for your company.

WEBINAR: K12 - How to shape student experiencesQualtrics
Understanding the students whose experiences fuel your school’s purpose isn’t just a good idea – it’s absolutely essential to keep your students thriving.
It is no longer enough to simply track a grade or score as students now make decisions based on their experience. Student feedback gives you insight into what is going on and measuring this alongside what you already know about a student is giving parents, teachers and schools the ability to truly understand a students experience.
The digital age has propelled the feedback process to new heights, both in how a students response is given and received, and how teachers can utilise these discoveries. Where schools used to rely on annual surveys, verbal feedback sessions and paper comment cards to gauge student engagement, digital technology can now help to implement a more omnipresent feedback strategy that not only delivers almost immediate results, but aggregates those results into crucial analytics.

Up the Ratios Bylaws - a Comprehensive Process of Our Organizationuptheratios
Up the Ratios is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap in STEM education for underprivileged students by providing free, high-quality learning opportunities in robotics and other STEM fields. Our mission is to empower the next generation of innovators, thinkers, and problem-solvers by offering a range of educational programs that foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
At Up the Ratios, we believe that every student, regardless of their socio-economic background, should have access to the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in today's technology-driven world. To achieve this, we host a variety of free classes, workshops, summer camps, and live lectures tailored to students from underserved communities. Our programs are designed to be engaging and hands-on, allowing students to explore the exciting world of robotics and STEM through practical, real-world applications.
Our free classes cover fundamental concepts in robotics, coding, and engineering, providing students with a strong foundation in these critical areas. Through our interactive workshops, students can dive deeper into specific topics, working on projects that challenge them to apply what they've learned and think creatively. Our summer camps offer an immersive experience where students can collaborate on larger projects, develop their teamwork skills, and gain confidence in their abilities.
In addition to our local programs, Up the Ratios is committed to making a global impact. We take donations of new and gently used robotics parts, which we then distribute to students and educational institutions in other countries. These donations help ensure that young learners worldwide have the resources they need to explore and excel in STEM fields. By supporting education in this way, we aim to nurture a global community of future leaders and innovators.
Our live lectures feature guest speakers from various STEM disciplines, including engineers, scientists, and industry professionals who share their knowledge and experiences with our students. These lectures provide valuable insights into potential career paths and inspire students to pursue their passions in STEM.
Up the Ratios relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers to continue our work. Contributions of time, expertise, and financial support are crucial to sustaining our programs and expanding our reach. Whether you're an individual passionate about education, a professional in the STEM field, or a company looking to give back to the community, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference.
We are proud of the positive impact we've had on the lives of countless students, many of whom have gone on to pursue higher education and careers in STEM. By providing these young minds with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed, we are not only changing their futures but also contributing to the advancement of technology and innovation on a broader scale.
