Paranoia Descriptive Writing
My loose stomach felt as if it was thrust inside my chest. My heart raced faster than Allyson Felix at
the Olympics this year. My hands were frozen stiff on the rail; my eyes were bloodshot. A river of
tears danced on my waterline. My thrashing pulse traveled through every centimeter and limb of my
anxious body. I suddenly gained the confidence to look forward, and view my worst nightmare in
front of my bulging eyes. I endured thirteen years of an uncontrollable fear of heights, thirteen years
of humiliating embarrassment. The fear of heights is common among children, but my immense panic
was unlike any other fears I had, like that of clowns or the dark. My paranoia started ever since I could
remember, but only got worse as I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

me. Skyscrapers and streets, smothered in traffic, formed a board game in my mind. The breathtaking
view from atop the clouds formed a Van Gough canvas. My blood shot into every crevice of my body.
The harsh wind made my eyes drier than a desert. As my brain plunged in and out of my skull, I
realized the meaning of life s adventures. Soon I began to feel a line of water descend from my cheek.
What is this? Is it raining? I questioned myself as I felt the clear, cold liquid on the side of my face. I
traced the trail of water to my tear duct. The tear was eminently the cause of both the raucous wind
and excitement as I was above the breathtaking city.
Soon the painting vanished below me; the ride was over. I steadily got out of my seat and immediately

Internal And Internal Factors That Affect Employee Behavior
There are lots of factors both internal and external which affects the organization and its employees
time to time, some of these factors are controllable and some are uncontrollable, Mostly the internal
factors are controllable and the external factors are uncontrollable but it depends on the situation. The
employee behavior is one of the most effective internal factor which affect the organization in core
level. And it is how the employee react to a particular situation at their workplace. The employees are
the back bone of the organization, so that the organizations goal can be affected by the employee
behavior, that s why it is important that we know about the factors which affects/influence employee

Lab Report Of The Copper Acetate Monohydrate
Based on the above mentioned structural and morphological results, the sample SP0.10 has high
degree of crystallinity with narrower particles size distribution, Therefor this value was selected as
optimum degree and checked the effect of gel making agent on it. Experiments SP0.10, SP0.10A and
SP0.10B were an optimization set for the citric acid (CA) and ethylene glycol (EG) as gel making
agent shown in table 1. The common small organic molecules used in sol gel chemistry are citric acid.
Citric acid is a weak triprotic acid (equation.2), three carboxylic acid moieties that are able to

As mention above citric acid act to neutralize the solution through reaction (2) as a result, the pH of
the reaction solution decreases with increasing concentration of citric acid. If the concentration of
citric acid citrate exceeds 1:2, the solution pH is lower than 8 and citrate anions also inhibit the
nucleation and growth of CuO crystals. It was concluded that the gel specifications were changed by
varying the amount of citric acid and as an optimum value, 1:2 ratio of EG:CA was used to synthesize
homogeneous CuO nanoflower (figure 4 b). The selected area electron diffraction (SAED) patterns of
SP0.10, SP0.10A and SP0.10B, confirming the monoclinic structure of as prepared materials. It
evidence of crystalline CuO is found in the SAED patterns, consistent with XRD results (see figure 5).
Distinct diffraction bright spots are clearly visible in the SAED pattern of SP0.10B due to a lesser
diffraction area.
The complete structural and microstructural parameters further confirmed by the Rietveld refinement
analysis. The characteristic XRD plots of sample SP0.10, SP0.10A and SP0.10B along with the crystal
structure was extracted by Rietveld analysis and is represented in figure 5(a c). It reveals that
diffraction peaks are assigned to CuO as reported in JCPDS file No. 48 1548, indicates that the

A Comparison Of Teenage Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And...
Teenage love is possible, but isn t very likely. Romeo and Juliet are teens in a play that are said to
experience true love and die for each other, but were they really ever in love? It is not possible for
teens to fall in love because teens fall in love too quickly, are very immature, and they are naive.
Love takes time. You do not fall in love when first meeting someone. The definition of love is an
intense feeling of deep affection. In the story of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo falls in love with Juliet the
second he sees her. He also forgets about the woman he was just in love with when he said ..her
beauty is too rich to be touched, too heavenly for this earth! (1.1.166). This means that Romeo wasn t
really ever in love with Rosaline and probably isn t truly in love with Juliet. A lot of teens today like

Teenagers don t understand that when being in a healthy relationship there s going to be ups and
downs. There s also going to be times where they aren t completely happy. They re going to have to
compromise and they will have arguments. It s a matter if you are serious about having a strong
relationship or not. In the story Romeo and Juliet they were very aware of their family feud but still
decided to be together when the Prologue states, a long standing hatred between two families erupts
into a new violence, . (Act 1 prologue). Because of the feud in their families, Romeo and Juliet should
have never been together, let alone talk to each other. This made a big struggle for them, but Romeo
and Juliet still decided to get married because they were in love . Instead of dealing with this situation
like adults, they decided if they cannot be in this world together they shouldn t be in this world at all.

The Law-Followers Of Romanticism
Power is concerned with who creates and who follows law. The Law Makers can be anyone, or
anything, because power has anarchic in nature and will only go to the leading initiator, which was the
British monarchy before the Romantic era. What changed was the radical notion of common people
and their importance to society during industrialization. Romanticism revolutionized the way common
people viewed the world (and themselves) through nature, the universe and everyday life. It connected
the world and led to the greatest notion of the modern day the idea that the people are both the Law
Makers and Law Followers, thus equalizing power and creating a spirit of democracy that lasts until
today. The idea of life within nature distinguishes the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is the sad truth of the major population today you eat, you work, you die. The old man narrating
these words is explaining the sad story of a widowed mother, a title not uncommon today. This poem
is just the sad story of a woman that lost her husband to war and her children because, ultimately, there
just wasn t enough money to sustain them all. Again, this is an example of Romantic poetry
connecting the common people through ethic and sympathy. What radicalized the world as they knew
it during Romanticism and everyday since was the use of blank verse for topics as mundane and
commonplace as nature and a widow. These seemingly normal topics are being discussed through
blank verse, or iambic pentameter. The most elated form of writing, and speech, of that day was used
for the commoners, thus balancing everyone in society. There was no longer a set higher class or
lower class speech dialect everyone was the same. This poetry demolished the upper class and
elevated the common folks dignity by allowing them to speak and read in their stories through the
words of the powerful. This dramatic reimagining of the ordinary is what connected society during the
Romantic era and is the fundamental basis of the spirit of

Catholic Reformation Dbq
3. The Catholic Reformation was started before the Protestant Reformation in the sixteenth century.
Unlike the leaders in the Protestant movement, many stayed with the Catholic Church and tried to
reform it within. These reforms challenged every level of the Church. The Council of Trent was
initiated by Pope Paul III. The council met in Trento, Italy in December 1545 and they met two more
times in May 1551 and January 1562 and ended in December 1563. This council was created to
identify the abuses within the Church and to clarify Catholic doctrine and reaffirmed the Pope to be
the head of the Church (Bruening 161 3). The council declared anyone who did not agree with all the
seven sacraments, they would be denounced and excommunicated.

Francesca Harper MAAT, recently completed her unit 10 project.
My biggest recommendation is to set yourself a deadline to complete your project. I did this, based on
when I was taking my final AAT exams, and it gave me the drive to not let unit 10 linger. I had to give
it one final push. After all, I d worked so hard over the past two and a half years why fall at the final

Workplace mentor
We recommend that you arrange for someone to be a workplace mentor. If you re currently working in
an accounting role, you should receive support and guidance from your employer as well as your
assessor throughout the development of your project. They will also have a greater understanding
about your chosen topic than your assessor can have.
Your mentor does not have to be your manager but should be someone who can help you through your
project, providing both technical and motivational support. Try to make sure that your mentor is
involved in your work from the outset and understands the standards and timescales you re working
to. They may be able to offer guidance on suitable ideas for the project by identifying current

Reflection Of Sophie s World
A girl named Sophie Amundsen was on her way home when she stopped by her mailbox to get the
mail, as she looked in the mailbox there was only one letter. It was unusual because there was no
stamp or who ve sent it, all it had was her name and address. Day by day, Sophie would receive
mysterious letters and would tear the envelope open to read questions like: Who are you? Where does
the world come from? or letters from the unknown writer that would get her thinking long and hard
because of this, the unknown letter writer had saved Sophie from the triviality of everyday existence.
The book Sophie s World written by Jostein Gaarder shows the reader to wonder more about the
world. As a child, we would think philosophically about the world but the older we got, we would
philosophically think less because we got used to the world
To begin with, what are the most important things in life? There is no wrong answer to this question
because your answer can be different to someone else. The important things in life to Mar kee Alston
is to remember that health should be the most important thing to you. Take care of your body and it
will take care of you. Education is in at second. Focus on developing your mind every day and

you appreciate what you have in your life already, you will always be happy

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, By Stephen Chbosky
Adlai Stevenson s once stated that ...the truth is often unpopular... In other words, most people are not
willing to face the truth that are unpleasant to them. Certainly, I agree with this statement and believe
that people always do not want to accept the truth. In particular, two literary works that support this
view point are The Pearl, a novella by John Steinbeck and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, an
epistolary novel by Stephen Chbosky. In these two books, both authors successfully portray two
characters, Kino and Charlie, who live in denial and avoid to face the reality. In The Pearl, Kino is
depicted as a dynamic character who lives in a shadow of denial. As an indigent fisherman, after he
finds the pearl of the world, the avarice drives him to crazy. He says that after he sells the pearl, his
family will become rich and he will get a rifle. Yet, the truth he doesn t face is that at that period of
time, they are still living under colonization and it is impossible for his family to get a better life, not

California Pizza Kitchen

FI 602: Financial Strategy and Valuation Fang Chen September 21, 2012
Introduction
In July of 2007, California Pizza Kitchen (CPK), a casual dining pizzeria started in California by co
owners Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax, was faced with the decision to invest in a stock repurchase
program. Led by Chief Financial Officer Susan Collyns, the financial team of CPK was reviewing the
preliminary results for the second quarter to determine if the stock repurchase program would provide
a significant financial leverage for the company. The goal was to determine if the company can
maintain the necessary financial stability to meet the expected growth trajectory for 2008 while
utilizing debt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only would this benefit the company, but would also benefit the stakeholders who just received
the additional 50% stock dividend that CPK issued.
Financial Leverage on WACC
When analyzing which debt financing option CPK should choose, the weight average cost of capital
(WACC) will provide an approximation on how much CPK must earn in order to satisfy the amount
financed. The values of WACC for the actual, 10%, 20%, and 30% options can be found in Appendix
A. It appears that the higher the financial leverage, the lower the WACC will be. Take for instance if
CPK chooses a 30% debt to capital situation, the ROE will be 11.1 % with a 9.2% WACC. In contrast,
at the actual value, the ROE is 9% with the WACC being 9.5% and could pose badly for CPK. As long
as CPK is comfortable with the high risk of a 30% debt to capital ratio, then it would be the most
beneficial in terms of adding economic value to the company, and for the shareholders, while
providing a high financial leverage.
Financial Leverage and Cost of Equity
The effect of financial leverage on the cost of equity is prevalent in the Modigliani Miller capital
structure theory. Since the financial leverage increases the cost of equity, it can be considered one of
the disadvantages of borrowing. As shown in Appendix A, the cost of equity, at each debt to capital
ratio, increases by 0.1% as the financial leverage increases by 10%. With a higher

Richard Attenborough Research Paper
The religious beliefs if film icon and Gandhi director Sir Richard Attenborough
Legendary British film actor Sir Richard Attenborough passed away on August 24 at the age of 90.
The performer, producer, and director starred in dozens of films, and is most well known for his roles
in Jurassic Park, The Great Escape, Flight of the Phoenix, Miracle on 34th Street, and A Bridge too
Far. Attenborough also produced and directed many movies himself, his most acclaimed work being
the 1982 biopic Gandhi for which he personally won two Academy Awards.
The critically acclaimed Gandhi was Attenborough s passion project. The film featured British actor
Ben Kingsley now famous, but little known at the time in the titular role, and Attenborough both
produced and directed the biography. Although he won two Academy Awards, the film itself won
eight. Criticized by historians for contributing to myth making, the film was nonetheless a critical and
financial success, earning 20 times its $22 million budget. The project finally got off of the ground
after 20 years of Attenborough attempting to secure funding. By selling off his possessions and
spending so much money I couldn t pay the gas bill, he was eventually able to produce the biopic
himself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

I will go on trying because I would be arrogantly stupid not to, but having to adhere to custom and

organised, formal religions have done a fair amount of damage in terms of our chances of living

An Analysis Of Ellen Hopkins s You Know My Story
The poem, You Know My Story , is an excerpt from a larger poem, and novel, called Glass by Ellen
Hopkins. The book is the second book in a series of three describing the rollercoaster life of Kristina
Georgia Snow while on drugs. The free verse poetry books were very largely inspired by Hopkins
daughter s own drug addiction (Goodreads). Her daughter, Cristal was very much like Kristina from
the story. She became addicted to the same drug as Kristina and even had a child that was later
adopted by Hopkins, just like the character from the story (Hopkins). The poem is written in a very
interesting way. If someone were to read the poem straight across as literature is meant to be read, the
poem would be very descriptive and tell a short story on just one page. But with many of Hopkins
works, if the poem is read just using the stand alone words or phrases on the right, a new poem is
born. This new poem is a much creepier summary of the larger poem. In this case the new poem reads,
my dive into insanity, no longer perfect, Kristina became the monster (Hopkins). The entire poem has
a very dark mood. It has very deep traces of helplessness and a misplaced self identity for the narrator.
The tone shifts a few times, but throughout it shares the same darkness of the mood. First there is
anger, then sadness and, finally complete vulnerability. Any piece of literature that talks about an
addict of any sort, tends to be very dark and depressing. This poem is no exception to that idea. If a
person was new to the works of Ellen Hopkins, they might not be aware of the fact that her books are
poetry. The free verse style lends itself well to the writing of a novel, but it is not the type of rhyming
poetry that most people are used to. It seems more like a book than a poem at first, yet if reread the
poetic nature is made more noticeable. Hopkins has stated that she doesn t plan out her books
beforehand because her poetry has to flow naturally and too much planning messes with the natural
flow of things (Hopkins).
There is no discernable rhythm or rhyme scheme to this poem. That holds true for most free verse
poems. As previously stated, this type of poetry tends to work well when writing an entire book
comprised of

Essay On Gentrification Of Venice
This paper assesses the evolution and impact of gentrification on a beautiful beachside neighborhood
known as Venice over the past two decades. Due to the fact that I ve spent a fairly good amount of my
time throughout Venice, I have a great sense of the community and the culture. But this community
had gone through a lot, one being gentrification. Before gentrification, Venice had a very natural
society, accepting everyone for who they are. Venice was and frankly still is a beautiful place to go for
a jog or hang out with friends on the beach. However, the cost to live there has soared through the
roof. Merely renting an office in Venice has doubled since 2011 with the average cost of renting a two
bed room apartment falling slightly north of five thousand dollars (Dave). Gentrification happened in
Venice ultimately very quickly, causing rapid change in the culture and the overall lifestyle of its long
term residents. Venice, some consider, is the nicest area in Los Angeles, due to its ethnic community
and splendid attractions. Venice was discovered by Abbot Kinney, a tobacco millionaire, around 1905

The Golden Parachute Option for CEO s
Imagine being in a world where people are paid in cash bonuses, stock options, or generous severance
pay when fired from their job due to a company merger, are asked to leave, or choose to retire. This
happens to be a reality for many CEO s and top executives of companies. We live in an economy
where mergers and take over s have become common, and to allow this option for the highest paid
employees of a company is arguably unfair. While researching golden parachutes, I formed questions
due to the circumstances surrounding this executive option. For example, why should CEO s, who live
very comfortably, be given a compensation package for losing their position due to a company merger

Once executives were getting these highly substantial payments, shareholders quickly questioned
executives for their integrity and motive due to this high increase in payment amounts. There have
been many debated reasons in support of and against golden parachutes on account of the increase in
payment amounts and how the terms of their severance package were written out.
It interests me how easy someone can be opposed to golden parachutes from a middle class citizen s
view, where we all want to be paid the same dollar figures as top executives. It s strongly argued

Mop Top Influence
One way the Beatles changed the world of music is their hair, it was called the Mop top but they
called it Arthur . The mop top is It is a straight cut collar length at the back and over the ears at the
sides, with a straight fringe (bangs) . At first people thought it was dumb but eventually realized it was
awesome but it was still mocked by adults. The mop top was first created in the 1950 s when someone
named Jürgen Vollemer left his hair down after he went swimming, and he didn t want to comb it.
Jürgen liked this style on him so the next day he recreated it and the mop top was born (at this time it
wasn t called anything). Voller moved to Paris in 1961 and Paul McCartney and John Lennon both ran
into him and liked it, so they asked him if he could cut their hair like that. Soon enough Ringo Starr

How Safety Management Systems Can Make Aviation Safer
Commercial aviation already has a safety record, which every other mode of public transport would be

Report, programmed which probably or certainly stemmed from intentional acts resulted in more

Meanwhile, the rate of accidents fatal and non fatal alike in 2015 attaching scheduled operations of

SMSs are of key importance because they work in four ways to handle aviation safety and its
development. Now, they establish organisational structures by which aviation organisations can
establish safety policies and responsibility including creating normal safety management oversight
roles and hiring educated, experienced personnel to fill them.
Second, SMSs formalise the management of safety risks by guide with procedures and processes for
find potential and actual problems, determine safety risks and then reduce them. Reduction is
performed by reporting of safety risks and taking active or passive measures to reduce each risk to a
reasonable level and potentially removing risks totally.
The third role of SMSs is to provide guarantee that safety is being maintained. Each aviation group s
SMS does this by making benchmarks of safety measurement and monitoring the firm s safety
performance to conform its safety performance continues to meet these benchmarks.
If its safety performance does not continue to meet the organisation has produced benchmarks, then
previously established formal procedures are put into effect to bring the organisation s safety
performance back up to the given standards.

According to advocatesforyouth.org, Abstinence only until marriage programs are a waste of taxpayer
money. Since 1996 over one billion dollars has been spent on these programs. Because these programs
are unsuccessful many people argue that it is a waste of money to spend billions of dollars on
ineffective programs. However comprehensive sex education which teaches students about
contraceptive usage and abstinence does not get the funding that abstinence only receives.
As a result of the unsuccessful overly funded abstinence only programs, teens fail to use
contraception. This leads to increased pregnancy rates. Students and teens fail to use contraception
because they are not informed of its importance and how to access it. This is why many people feel it
is important to replace abstinence only with comprehensive sex education.
Moreover the lack of knowledge of contraceptive usage and birth control leads to high pregnancy rates
as well. Comprehensive does what abstinence only does not. It informs students of how to use
condoms, how to get birth control, and the risks of unprotected sexual activity. Abstinence only is not
realistic in American society in the twenty first century. If teenagers are not informed of what is
happening in their bodies and how to control it, they have the potential to attract unwanted
consequences.

The Characteristics Of Jefferson Davis
Jefferson Davis ,most famously known as the president of the Confederate States during the Civil War,
was an interesting subject of the 19th century. You would think it was because of his contributions to
the war or lack thereof, but unfortunately he is associated more with his peculiar characteristics. Many
of the characteristics are equivalent to those of basic people carrying out normal lives. The expectancy
of loyalty and respect, indecisiveness, and not being capable of admitting faults, we all know someone
with at least one of these traits, maybe even all of them. So why was it so unique in the case of
Jefferson Davis? Although these were normal traits, the life that Davis lived was not. With such a
public demanding job, every aspect of his life was showcased and under close observation. The
struggle between Davis and his overpowering attributes not only had an effect on his relationships and
friendships, but they also had an impact, not completely negative or positive, on the way he completed
his job. As a child, Davis practically had no say in determining his future. His father Samuel Emory
Davis, although he wasn t the most emotionally present, determined almost every aspect of his son s
life up to his death. It was he that sent Davis to boarding to school at a young age and choose what
university he would attend. Even after the death of Samuel, Davis still did not take control of his life.

Summary Of Greg Mortenson s Three Cups Of Tea
International agriculture is a complex and intricate web of economies and cultures. To better
understand this concept, it is beneficial to understand the relationships between countries and regions.
Currently, the United States is experiencing a turbulent and strained relationship with the Middle East.
Turning on the television and watching the five o clock news only showcases and capitalizes on these
negative events. Stones into Schools by Greg Mortenson, is the follow up novel to Three Cups of Tea.
In this book, Mortenson explores deeper into the impacts of education for women in the Middle East.

In fact, it is easy to take many things for granted. The line between need and want are blurred.
However, when it comes to education, many see it as a right. Maybe that is so, but for many outside
the U.S. it is a right that is denied or inaccessible, especially for women. The Persepolis Declaration
describes literacy as a fundament human right (UNESCO). The definition of literacy in the dictionary
is the ability to read and write (Webster). Education is a powerful thing. In fact, a third grade student
who reads at the appropriate reading level compared to a third grade student who does not is four
times more likely to graduate by age 19, according to DoSomething.org. To put things in perspective,
a third grade student is typically eight or nine years old. This is the age of many students Mortenson is
working to help. Mortenson exhibited through action and purpose that literacy can lead to peace. That
the ability to read and write can end the wars and tyranny. How is this so? The United Nations
Educational. Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), states that o limit this right of literacy,
limits an individual s ability to make clear choices and logical decisions. UNESCO believes that
education creates opportunity and allows an individual to act with the use of critical thinking and
empowerment. However, the more interesting fact UNESCO brings forward, which ties back to
Mortenson s mission, is that aware and educated individuals are more effective in participating and
engaging in democratic intuitions. This is the key. Human development, and the development of
democracy, rely on education. Interpreting the text from Stones into Schools, it is clear Mortenson has
similar theories and is acting on them. It is no secret the turmoil and conflict the U.S. is facing with
the Middle East. However, Mortenson s drastic and peacefully approach show another alternative

both shows, the main characters always end up in trouble. Also they both have family situations to

St. Cloud Superman Analysis
Paper One: St. Cloud Superman The argument that has arisen due to the St. Cloud Superman, John

only the intent of instilling patriotism and pride (Farhat). This flag toting may be considered hurtful,
upsetting even, but that doesn t mean that his right to free speech should be taken away. Free speech
should protect the rights to someone displaying a flag, or any symbol that certain races, religions,
genders, or people in general may find offensive. I will present the First Amendment, how Fillah s
intent should play into this, and how ignoring him may be the best course of action. Using a few
points from a Derek Bok essay and a short quote from Susan Jacoby, this paragraph will highlight the
First Amendment. Bok, a Harvard University President for 20 years, handled a similar situation as the

A Separate Peace, by John Knowles
Throughout human history, war has stood as a universal reaction to various conflicts between diverse
peoples. War can embed itself into a culture over generations of fighting. It can generate cultures that
base themselves around the concept of war, creating hostile and bellicose peoples. At times, war may
not even have grounds, but the aggressive nature of the people often cause it to proceed without
justification. These wars often proceed due to perceptions conceived within the depths of peoples
imaginations. Irrational assumptions, fears of the unknown, and the development of nonexistent
threats allow the justification of these wars within the individuals. In A Separate Peace, wars such as

The most well established way of creating a mortgage is in fact by deed and, furthermore, s.23(1)
states a mortgage of a registered land cannot be created by lease. It is made clear Josiah is the sole
registered owner of the property.
As for the question whether the legal date of redemption is passed this can be proven with the case of
Payne . As we know from the current case Josiah has missed 3 mortgage payments. However, in the
case of Payne it was established that defaulting on an instalment was equal to a defaulting on the
whole mortgage. As such it is safe to say both conditions are met and the power of sale has arisen.
What Fed Bank needs to prove next is whether their right to sell has become exercisable, the
conditions for which can be found in s. 103 of the LPA 1925. One of them states the power becomes
exercisable if the mortgagors have missed two monthly instalments. As Josiah has missed three, this
means the bank can safely sell the property.
Since a mortgage is considered a contract of loan, Fed Bank can also sue Josiah for a breach. This can
happen particularly if they feel the sale of the property has not repaid what they have been owed. This
was the case of Rudge where it was held the sale of the property did not release the mortgagor from
the duty to pay any balance remaining due. Another reason for them to do this would be if they have
failed to take possession of the property due to an overriding

Sociology Of South African Sociology
South African sociology (Webster, 2004, p. 28) can be considered as the result of the combination of
different types of sociology due to the various changes that taken place in South African society
throughout its history (Webster, 2004, p. 28). Marxism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117), which is
one of the main contributors to this sociology, was coined by Karl Marx, a German sociologist who by
observing the various relations within a society came up with his own beliefs on how society has
changed and how it can be improved which have been widely used across the world (Macionis
Plummer, 2012, p. 117). He believed that in the past, people lived in collective groups and were not
divided by economic status but shared what they had and focused more on working together than
working for each other and this was referred to as communism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 119).
However, Marx suggested that as time progressed people began to fight for land and possessions and
this led to weaker groups being kept as slaves (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 18) and were used for the
benefit of their capturers and this ultimately created a distinction between those who had power and
those who did not (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 119). Marx also suggested that from this came what is
known as capitalism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117), which was the result of technological
advancements such as the use of machines to produce goods in factories (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p.
117)

of the singers he recorded. Tweed Waulking songs are used as a transition to the subject of work songs

virtually no substance or chemical in existence that would not irritate or damage some person or

Human Emotion And Its Effect On Human Consciousness
The purpose of life, to some degree, is to seek happiness and to seek out other people to achieve that
happiness. Sigmund Freud developed this idea, which is known as the pleasure principle, claiming to
explain that the human consciousness and subconsciousness revolve around this idea. If someone is
isolated, then they will try to alleviate that suffering in one way or another. Human emotion is reduced
to extremely simple terms, unlike what they truly are, which is extremely complex. The idea of
reducing humans to such a simple understanding seems unfair, but it carries a sense of truth to it.
Every person on Earth is seeking for pleasure, and it carries truth because no person appreciates the
feeling of unpleasantness. Isolation is a defense method against the world to seek pleasure and to
avoid unpleasant feelings in life. Freud believes that everyone attempts to get away from things that
cause us pain and suffering and that everyone feels suffering as a result of society, but the way people
attempt to alleviate this suffering defines us as a person.
Two people could be faced with the death of a close relative, but the one who alleviates his suffering
through drugs is very different from the one who alleviates his suffering through burying himself in
his work. The exploration of Freud s ideas through different characters of the two stories, Sonny s
Blues and Ceremony, reveal that Freud s principles regarding human nature are not the basis for all
human life. Sonny s

  • 2. Paranoia Descriptive Writing My loose stomach felt as if it was thrust inside my chest. My heart raced faster than Allyson Felix at the Olympics this year. My hands were frozen stiff on the rail; my eyes were bloodshot. A river of tears danced on my waterline. My thrashing pulse traveled through every centimeter and limb of my anxious body. I suddenly gained the confidence to look forward, and view my worst nightmare in front of my bulging eyes. I endured thirteen years of an uncontrollable fear of heights, thirteen years of humiliating embarrassment. The fear of heights is common among children, but my immense panic was unlike any other fears I had, like that of clowns or the dark. My paranoia started ever since I could remember, but only got worse as I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her hands danced in the air; her eyes were glued to the unforgettable view that surrounded us. She looked at me and threw my hands in the air with hers. I grew the courage my sister always had and looked down. I was in the clouds; I was on top of the city. Millions of ants danced on the floor beneath me. Skyscrapers and streets, smothered in traffic, formed a board game in my mind. The breathtaking view from atop the clouds formed a Van Gough canvas. My blood shot into every crevice of my body. The harsh wind made my eyes drier than a desert. As my brain plunged in and out of my skull, I realized the meaning of life s adventures. Soon I began to feel a line of water descend from my cheek. What is this? Is it raining? I questioned myself as I felt the clear, cold liquid on the side of my face. I traced the trail of water to my tear duct. The tear was eminently the cause of both the raucous wind and excitement as I was above the breathtaking city. Soon the painting vanished below me; the ride was over. I steadily got out of my seat and immediately felt lightheaded. I slowly rambled towards my mother, who took the role of a desperate paparazzi the entire ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Lab Report Of The Copper Acetate Monohydrate Based on the above mentioned structural and morphological results, the sample SP0.10 has high degree of crystallinity with narrower particles size distribution, Therefor this value was selected as optimum degree and checked the effect of gel making agent on it. Experiments SP0.10, SP0.10A and SP0.10B were an optimization set for the citric acid (CA) and ethylene glycol (EG) as gel making agent shown in table 1. The common small organic molecules used in sol gel chemistry are citric acid. Citric acid is a weak triprotic acid (equation.2), three carboxylic acid moieties that are able to dissociate with in. A. E. Danks et al. 2016. While being readily available and cheap it is also an effective chelating agent affected the process which makes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As mention above citric acid act to neutralize the solution through reaction (2) as a result, the pH of the reaction solution decreases with increasing concentration of citric acid. If the concentration of citric acid citrate exceeds 1:2, the solution pH is lower than 8 and citrate anions also inhibit the nucleation and growth of CuO crystals. It was concluded that the gel specifications were changed by varying the amount of citric acid and as an optimum value, 1:2 ratio of EG:CA was used to synthesize homogeneous CuO nanoflower (figure 4 b). The selected area electron diffraction (SAED) patterns of SP0.10, SP0.10A and SP0.10B, confirming the monoclinic structure of as prepared materials. It evidence of crystalline CuO is found in the SAED patterns, consistent with XRD results (see figure 5). Distinct diffraction bright spots are clearly visible in the SAED pattern of SP0.10B due to a lesser diffraction area. The complete structural and microstructural parameters further confirmed by the Rietveld refinement analysis. The characteristic XRD plots of sample SP0.10, SP0.10A and SP0.10B along with the crystal structure was extracted by Rietveld analysis and is represented in figure 5(a c). It reveals that diffraction peaks are assigned to CuO as reported in JCPDS file No. 48 1548, indicates that the synthesized samples are monophasic CuO with a monoclinic structure. From the ... • 5. A Comparison Of Teenage Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And... Teenage love is possible, but isn t very likely. Romeo and Juliet are teens in a play that are said to experience true love and die for each other, but were they really ever in love? It is not possible for teens to fall in love because teens fall in love too quickly, are very immature, and they are naive. Love takes time. You do not fall in love when first meeting someone. The definition of love is an intense feeling of deep affection. In the story of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo falls in love with Juliet the second he sees her. He also forgets about the woman he was just in love with when he said ..her beauty is too rich to be touched, too heavenly for this earth! (1.1.166). The Law Makers can be anyone, or anything, because power has anarchic in nature and will only go to the leading initiator, which was the British monarchy before the Romantic era. What changed was the radical notion of common people and their importance to society during industrialization. Romanticism revolutionized the way common people viewed the world (and themselves) through nature, the universe and everyday life. It connected the world and led to the greatest notion of the modern day the idea that the people are both the Law Makers and Law Followers, thus equalizing power and creating a spirit of democracy that lasts until today. Again, this is an example of Romantic poetry connecting the common people through ethic and sympathy. What radicalized the world as they knew it during Romanticism and everyday since was the use of blank verse for topics as mundane and commonplace as nature and a widow. These seemingly normal topics are being discussed through blank verse, or iambic pentameter. The most elated form of writing, and speech, of that day was used for the commoners, thus balancing everyone in society. There was no longer a set higher class or lower class speech dialect everyone was the same. In other words, most people are not willing to face the truth that are unpleasant to them. Certainly, I agree with this statement and believe that people always do not want to accept the truth. In particular, two literary works that support this view point are The Pearl, a novella by John Steinbeck and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, an epistolary novel by Stephen Chbosky. In these two books, both authors successfully portray two characters, Kino and Charlie, who live in denial and avoid to face the reality. In The Pearl, Kino is depicted as a dynamic character who lives in a shadow of denial. As an indigent fisherman, after he finds the pearl of the world, the avarice drives him to crazy. He says that after he sells the pearl, his family will become rich and he will get a rifle. Led by Chief Financial Officer Susan Collyns, the financial team of CPK was reviewing the preliminary results for the second quarter to determine if the stock repurchase program would provide a significant financial leverage for the company. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only would this benefit the company, but would also benefit the stakeholders who just received the additional 50% stock dividend that CPK issued. Financial Leverage on WACC When analyzing which debt financing option CPK should choose, the weight average cost of capital (WACC) will provide an approximation on how much CPK must earn in order to satisfy the amount financed. The values of WACC for the actual, 10%, 20%, and 30% options can be found in Appendix A. It appears that the higher the financial leverage, the lower the WACC will be. Take for instance if CPK chooses a 30% debt to capital situation, the ROE will be 11.1 % with a 9.2% WACC. In contrast, at the actual value, the ROE is 9% with the WACC being 9.5% and could pose badly for CPK. As long as CPK is comfortable with the high risk of a 30% debt to capital ratio, then it would be the most beneficial in terms of adding economic value to the company, and for the shareholders, while providing a high financial leverage. Financial Leverage and Cost of Equity The effect of financial leverage on the cost of equity is prevalent in the Modigliani Miller capital structure theory. Since the financial leverage increases the cost of equity, it can be considered one of the disadvantages of borrowing. • 16. An Analysis Of Ellen Hopkins s You Know My Story The poem, You Know My Story , is an excerpt from a larger poem, and novel, called Glass by Ellen Hopkins. The book is the second book in a series of three describing the rollercoaster life of Kristina Georgia Snow while on drugs. The free verse poetry books were very largely inspired by Hopkins daughter s own drug addiction (Goodreads). Her daughter, Cristal was very much like Kristina from the story. She became addicted to the same drug as Kristina and even had a child that was later adopted by Hopkins, just like the character from the story (Hopkins). The poem is written in a very interesting way. If someone were to read the poem straight across as literature is meant to be read, the poem would be very descriptive and tell a short story on just one page. But with many of Hopkins works, if the poem is read just using the stand alone words or phrases on the right, a new poem is born. This new poem is a much creepier summary of the larger poem. In this case the new poem reads, my dive into insanity, no longer perfect, Kristina became the monster (Hopkins). The entire poem has a very dark mood. It has very deep traces of helplessness and a misplaced self identity for the narrator. The tone shifts a few times, but throughout it shares the same darkness of the mood. First there is anger, then sadness and, finally complete vulnerability. Any piece of literature that talks about an addict of any sort, tends to be very dark and depressing. This poem is no exception to that idea. If a person was new to the works of Ellen Hopkins, they might not be aware of the fact that her books are poetry. The free verse style lends itself well to the writing of a novel, but it is not the type of rhyming poetry that most people are used to. It seems more like a book than a poem at first, yet if reread the poetic nature is made more noticeable. Hopkins has stated that she doesn t plan out her books beforehand because her poetry has to flow naturally and too much planning messes with the natural flow of things (Hopkins). There is no discernable rhythm or rhyme scheme to this poem. That holds true for most free verse poems. As previously stated, this type of poetry tends to work well when writing an entire book comprised of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Due to the fact that I ve spent a fairly good amount of my time throughout Venice, I have a great sense of the community and the culture. Gentrification happened in Venice ultimately very quickly, causing rapid change in the culture and the overall lifestyle of its long term residents. • 27. The Characteristics Of Jefferson Davis Jefferson Davis ,most famously known as the president of the Confederate States during the Civil War, was an interesting subject of the 19th century. You would think it was because of his contributions to the war or lack thereof, but unfortunately he is associated more with his peculiar characteristics. Many of the characteristics are equivalent to those of basic people carrying out normal lives. The expectancy of loyalty and respect, indecisiveness, and not being capable of admitting faults, we all know someone with at least one of these traits, maybe even all of them. So why was it so unique in the case of Jefferson Davis? Although these were normal traits, the life that Davis lived was not. With such a public demanding job, every aspect of his life was showcased and under close observation. The struggle between Davis and his overpowering attributes not only had an effect on his relationships and friendships, but they also had an impact, not completely negative or positive, on the way he completed his job. As a child, Davis practically had no say in determining his future. His father Samuel Emory Davis, although he wasn t the most emotionally present, determined almost every aspect of his son s life up to his death. It was he that sent Davis to boarding to school at a young age and choose what university he would attend. Even after the death of Samuel, Davis still did not take control of his life. To better understand this concept, it is beneficial to understand the relationships between countries and regions. Currently, the United States is experiencing a turbulent and strained relationship with the Middle East. Turning on the television and watching the five o clock news only showcases and capitalizes on these negative events. Maybe that is so, but for many outside the U.S. it is a right that is denied or inaccessible, especially for women. The Persepolis Declaration describes literacy as a fundament human right (UNESCO). The definition of literacy in the dictionary is the ability to read and write (Webster). Education is a powerful thing. In fact, a third grade student who reads at the appropriate reading level compared to a third grade student who does not is four times more likely to graduate by age 19, according to DoSomething.org. To put things in perspective, a third grade student is typically eight or nine years old. This is the age of many students Mortenson is working to help. Mortenson exhibited through action and purpose that literacy can lead to peace. That the ability to read and write can end the wars and tyranny. How is this so? The United Nations Educational. Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), states that o limit this right of literacy, limits an individual s ability to make clear choices and logical decisions. UNESCO believes that education creates opportunity and allows an individual to act with the use of critical thinking and empowerment. However, the more interesting fact UNESCO brings forward, which ties back to Mortenson s mission, is that aware and educated individuals are more effective in participating and engaging in democratic intuitions. This is the key. Human development, and the development of democracy, rely on education. Interpreting the text from Stones into Schools, it is clear Mortenson has similar theories and is acting on them. It is no secret the turmoil and conflict the U.S. is facing with the Middle East. • 31. St. Cloud Superman Analysis Paper One: St. Cloud Superman The argument that has arisen due to the St. Cloud Superman, John Fillah, is quite unfortunate. Fillah was documented to have been wielding an offensive flag, but with only the intent of instilling patriotism and pride (Farhat). This flag toting may be considered hurtful, upsetting even, but that doesn t mean that his right to free speech should be taken away. Free speech should protect the rights to someone displaying a flag, or any symbol that certain races, religions, genders, or people in general may find offensive. I will present the First Amendment, how Fillah s intent should play into this, and how ignoring him may be the best course of action. Using a few points from a Derek Bok essay and a short quote from Susan Jacoby, this paragraph will highlight the First Amendment. Bok, a Harvard University President for 20 years, handled a similar situation as the St. Cloud University President. War can embed itself into a culture over generations of fighting. It can generate cultures that base themselves around the concept of war, creating hostile and bellicose peoples. At times, war may not even have grounds, but the aggressive nature of the people often cause it to proceed without justification. These wars often proceed due to perceptions conceived within the depths of peoples imaginations. Irrational assumptions, fears of the unknown, and the development of nonexistent threats allow the justification of these wars within the individuals. Josiah would like to know what kind of remedies the bank has and which is it more likely to use. He is also interested in what steps the bank needs to take before taking possession and how likely their claim for possession would be. a) Fed Bank has a number of rights they can exercise. Moreover, as long as they do not recover more than the principal debt plus costs and interest they can employ more than one of them . Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most well established way of creating a mortgage is in fact by deed and, furthermore, s.23(1) states a mortgage of a registered land cannot be created by lease. It is made clear Josiah is the sole registered owner of the property. As for the question whether the legal date of redemption is passed this can be proven with the case of Payne . As we know from the current case Josiah has missed 3 mortgage payments. However, in the case of Payne it was established that defaulting on an instalment was equal to a defaulting on the whole mortgage. As such it is safe to say both conditions are met and the power of sale has arisen. What Fed Bank needs to prove next is whether their right to sell has become exercisable, the conditions for which can be found in s. 103 of the LPA 1925. One of them states the power becomes exercisable if the mortgagors have missed two monthly instalments. As Josiah has missed three, this means the bank can safely sell the property. Since a mortgage is considered a contract of loan, Fed Bank can also sue Josiah for a breach. This can happen particularly if they feel the sale of the property has not repaid what they have been owed. This was the case of Rudge where it was held the sale of the property did not release the mortgagor from the duty to pay any balance remaining due. Another reason for them to do this would be if they have failed to take possession of the property due to an overriding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sociology Of South African Sociology South African sociology (Webster, 2004, p. 28) can be considered as the result of the combination of different types of sociology due to the various changes that taken place in South African society throughout its history (Webster, 2004, p. 28). Marxism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117), which is one of the main contributors to this sociology, was coined by Karl Marx, a German sociologist who by observing the various relations within a society came up with his own beliefs on how society has changed and how it can be improved which have been widely used across the world (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117). He believed that in the past, people lived in collective groups and were not divided by economic status but shared what they had and focused more on working together than working for each other and this was referred to as communism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 119). However, Marx suggested that as time progressed people began to fight for land and possessions and this led to weaker groups being kept as slaves (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 18) and were used for the benefit of their capturers and this ultimately created a distinction between those who had power and those who did not (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 119). Marx also suggested that from this came what is known as capitalism (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117), which was the result of technological advancements such as the use of machines to produce goods in factories (Macionis Plummer, 2012, p. 117) ... Take but two simple examples, reading the clause broadly would bar coverage for bodily injuries suffered by one who slips and falls on the spilled contents of a bottle of Drano, and for bodily injury caused by an allergic reaction to chlorine in a public pool. • 39. Human Emotion And Its Effect On Human Consciousness The purpose of life, to some degree, is to seek happiness and to seek out other people to achieve that happiness. Sigmund Freud developed this idea, which is known as the pleasure principle, claiming to explain that the human consciousness and subconsciousness revolve around this idea. If someone is isolated, then they will try to alleviate that suffering in one way or another. Human emotion is reduced to extremely simple terms, unlike what they truly are, which is extremely complex. The idea of reducing humans to such a simple understanding seems unfair, but it carries a sense of truth to it. Every person on Earth is seeking for pleasure, and it carries truth because no person appreciates the feeling of unpleasantness. Isolation is a defense method against the world to seek pleasure and to avoid unpleasant feelings in life. Freud believes that everyone attempts to get away from things that cause us pain and suffering and that everyone feels suffering as a result of society, but the way people attempt to alleviate this suffering defines us as a person. Two people could be faced with the death of a close relative, but the one who alleviates his suffering through drugs is very different from the one who alleviates his suffering through burying himself in his work. The exploration of Freud s ideas through different characters of the two stories, Sonny s Blues and Ceremony, reveal that Freud s principles regarding human nature are not the basis for all human life.
