My Comprehensive Collaboration Project Involved A School...
My comprehensive collaboration project involved a school community meeting, involving people with
various association to education. The meeting originated because of the first workshop poor parental
involvement and lack of community communication, concerning date, time, topic, and activities. After
this disappointing blow and only two district teachers spearheading the event and activities, a decision
evolved, making team membership accessible to all affiliates of education. Meeting members were
paraprofessionals, a master teacher, retired teacher who is now a community volunteer and a guardian
of a grandchild attending school in the district. Within the room, including myself was a total of ninety
five years of education related experiences. It was important to promote shared decision making by
including people with different views and implementation styles. When planning the organization of
group members, I kept in mind the ultimate goal of building trust, through professional participation in
community events, thus embracing opportunities of personal interactions outside school community.
Members were willing participants, who close ties, through daily interaction in neighboring
community after school hours, therefore made their involvement planning parent events crucial for
community team success.
Our school community team was in the functioning developmental stage of collaborative teaming.
Through census, norms were set, which we all agreed to follow and later, if

The Code Of Conduct Set By The International Gymnastics...
A score of 10.00 for a single routine is under the code of conduct set by the International Gymnastics
Federation (FIG). It was originally thought to be unattainable, until 1976; when Nadia Comaneci
scored the first ever perfect ten. There have been a few perfect scores after Comaneci, like the first
male to score 10.00, Alexander Dityatin in 1980. The last two perfect tens that were given were in
Barcelona in 1992. Between 1976 and 1992, lots of 10.00 were given out; making a perfect ten lose its
meaning. In the years following, the skills got harder, the equipment changed and the code of points
changed, making a perfect ten physically impossible. If one were to watch Nadia Comaneci s bar
routine and compare it to Gabby Douglas bar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The women s uneven bars evolved from the men s parallel bars, which were originally fixed wooden
rails set in the ground. Today both use flexible, adjustable rails that absorb shock and provide bounce
for the gymnasts. Finally the balance beam was a long, narrow block of wood, mostly because
routines focused more on the dance than the tumbling. Olga Korbut and Nadia Comaneci introduced
powerful tumbling in the 1970s, thus the beams had to change to increase safety. Now beams are
padded with rounded, cushioning material to absorb shock of tumbling and jumping gymnasts. Grips
help to grip the bar, and reduce the friction between the bar and the gymnast s hand. This helps to
reduce the number of rips, which helps the gymnast perform more skills in less pain. Throughout the
years the Code of Points has been changed by the International Gymnastics Federation. A new scoring
system was introduced in 2006. It consists of an A score, based on the difficulty of elements, and a B
score, based on artistic impression. The way to max out your A score is to cram the toughest possible
moves into your routine and pack them as tightly together as you can manage. While the B score starts
from 10, and points are taken off for mistakes such as flexed feet or bent knees. And the two scores are
put together to create the final score. By doing this it has eliminated the perfect 10, as athletes can go
over a 10.00 score. Gymnasts

Loss, Breakup And Sorrow
Loss, breakup and sorrow Grief is part of the process of healing and recovery from a loss. Grieving is
a very personal experience with a strong cultural perspective and there is no pattern regarding the
length of mourning and grief. Experiencing the loss of a loved one takes a heavy toll on your
emotional health. Anyhow you grieve for your loss, grief is sufferance, and there is always a point
when you cannot take it anymore. It always comes a day when you want to let go and you want to step
further, beyond your pain. Unfortunately, beginning the healing and recovery process is not simple.
When your grief lasts too long or is too intense, when you re going to extremes to avoid thinking or
talking about your loss, when you have no more tears to cry, when you re overwhelmed and
incapacitated because of your persistent grief, pain, sadness and fear, than most probably you need
help. When you ll be ready to let go of your loss and to move on, I can help you ease your painful
feelings that are holding you back. You can t be free of your past as long as you don t release the
negative emotions attached to it. Traditional hypnotherapy can help you remove sadness, anger, rage,
resentment, blame, terror and the underlying feelings of pain, helplessness, and fear, can help you to
remain calm and rational when thinking or talking about your loss. The sorrow, that feeling of deep
distress caused by loss, disappointment, or other misfortune that powerful driving force behind all

My Personality Archetype According To The Jung Typology Test
Reflective Essay #3 ESTP My personality archetype, according to the Jung Typology test is an ESTP.
As an extravert I was ranked in the 84 percentile, sensing 28 percentile, thinking 53 percentile, and
perceiving at only 3 percentile. I seem to have no preference of perceiving over judging. Due to the
low percentile of perceiving over judging, more than one personality type could apply; I have the
tendency to swing between ESTP and ESTJ. Approximately 4.3 percent of the population falls into the
category of ESTP. This personality type is very close to my true personality, according to the Human
Metrics website, ESTPs are spontaneous, active, and they act on their impulses. Besting my
competition is a natural drive for me. Being an

Methyl Alcohol Should Be Illegal
Methyl Alcohol is a toxic, colorless, flammable liquid alcohol. CH3OH is the chemical formula for it.
Originally from the distillation of wood but now oxidizing methane. In 1923 German chemists had
figured out how to make a synthetic methyl alcohol called methanol. They put carbon, oxygen, and
hydrogen into an industrial pressure cooker and superheated it to more than 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Methyl Alcohol isn t a poison like cyanide. It didn t make you violently sick then kill you. A lethal
undiluted dose is little as two teaspoons for a child, and a quarter cup for a man. A more average
amount leads to blindness then coma and soon death. Methyl (wood) alcohol is not easily broken
down by the body. The enzymes in human livers struggle with methyl. As a result, the poison lingers

The latest round of alcohol on the streets was not filtered well, so with the poisonous government
added impurities and methyl alcohol still contaminating the drink, it was lethal. Two days later twenty
three of them were dead. I think this is a very sad reading about poisons. The doing was directly a
result of the decisions by a government that is supposed to protect us. I understand the situation would
have been a hard one to solve, but it seemed with every decision made to try to fix it, the problem just
got worse. The sickly patients hallucinated, vomited, and were blinded by the wood alcohol. In
hospitals there was even a special unit called the alcoholic ward, specialized much like the way burn
units are today. Many people like Wayne Wheeler (general counsel of the Anti Saloon League of
America) thought it was crazy that the fact that these so called victims had violated the law, and
deserve no sympathy for their illegal and idiotic behavior . The next day the Treasury department

Liberation In Latin America
Cultures from around the world have evolved to hold unique values and standards, but one common
thread binds them all together liberation. The theme of liberation or freedom manifests itself in works
from all over the world, taking on different aspects to fit the time in which the story takes place. In
Latin America, writers explore the concept of social realism, in which an artist depicts contemporary
life realistically in order to make a political comment on society s current situation. This stems from a
long history of turmoil and unrest in the region, including corrupt leaders and poor living and working
conditions for a majority of the population. Similarly, in Africa, the colonial takeover and exploitation
of small villages led to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
African oppression through leadership began in the late nineteenth Century with the Berlin
Conference (1884 85). During this time, the newly industrialized European powers gathered together
in order to divide Africa up amongst themselves for imperialism. Imperialism is a form of government
in which a mother country maintains governmental control of a nation, meanwhile extracting the
country s natural resources. This practice came about with industrialization since the growing
infrastructure led to a call for more materials. Colonizers would gain the trust of a clan through trade,
religion, and the wealth the Europeans brought with them. After trust was established they began their
tyrannical rule. In Things Fall Apart, the main character, Okonkwo, documents his clan s take over. He
came quietly and peacefully with his religion. We were amused at his foolishness and allowed him to
stay. Now he has won our brothers, and our clan can no longer act like one (Achebe 152). Once
Okonkwo realizes his clan s grave mistake in taking the missionaries in, he attempts to strike a
rebellion, however fails, eventually reverting to suicide to free himself from the mess the European
colonizers placed him and his people (the Igbo) in. It is in this way that African literature exemplifies
the theme of liberation.

Japan Final Reflection Paper
Son Huynh
Final Reflection
Japan is in a mission to search for energy after the devastated earthquake and tsunami in 2011. People
are afraid of nuclear power, yet there is no way to stop the production of nuclear power completely.
Japan is heavily depending on nuclear because it is cheaper than buying resources from the Middle
East. In the long run, this will impact Japan s economic and climate change. There is no right or
wrong to this decision, but one thing for sure, Japan needs a new form of energy. Japan population has
been declining at a rapid rate. There is no real solution to prevent the population from decreasing.
From my perspective, Japanese families tend to live far away from each other. The reason behind this
is due to work. People in Tokyo will get a better paying job than people in Matsuyama, so most of
them are looking to work in a bigger city. At the host family that I went to live with for two days, the
mother will wake up early to prepare breakfast and bento for her child. In the US, no one will prepare
breakfast or lunch for you. Everyone has their own business to take care of. However, Japan is totally
different from the western culture. People share their worries to get things done. Even though they are
not family, the way they interact with each other is just so heartwarming. For these house wife, every
day is pretty much the same. I believe Japanese government need to push more support for women.
Japanese women tend to lose their jobs if they decide to have a baby. Child care is expensive and not
everyone wants to do it. Therefore, many Japanese women rather keep their jobs than having a child
because they will lose the ability to do what they love. Most people hate doing something that they
don t enjoy, so if there is no benefit from it; no one will want to waste their time doing such job. If
there are more support for women to have a child, then the population will increase overtime. At this
point, there are less younger people than old people because they are not interested to date anyone. If
the government won t act now, the consequence will impact Japan in the long run. Japanese tea
ceremony is very interesting to learn about. Every single step is thoughtfully

Applying Dynamic Systems Theory Concepts And Ecological...
Introduction The purpose of this paper is to theoretically analyze a case that involves a six year old
girl with behavior problems believed to result from past sexual abuse. Using a holistic biopsychosocial
approach during analysis should provide useful information for applying theories to show causes and
effects of her experiences and behavior. At the completion of analysis, I will have learned the
importance of knowing the whole integrated systems, how to apply dynamic systems theory concepts
and ecological perspectives when assessing a case, and how to identify strengths and limitations of
theories.
Biopsychosocial Assessment
Biological
This case is about Emma. Emma was a full term baby, and because she was full term, one could
assume all her major organs were fully developed. Her brain was normal for a full term baby, as well.
One could speculate the reason she met all early developmental milestones was due to being full term.
Looking from a neurobiological perspective, we know very little about Emma s brain; however, we do
know her conduct is of concern to both her mother and pediatrician. At a crucial stage of brain
development, Emma experienced sexual abuse. One could conclude that her brain was neurologically
affected which has resulted in behavior problems due to the condition of her environment.
Psychological
It took a great deal of courage for Emma to tell her mother about the abuse, and her mother was
courageous enough to report it immediately and seek

The Importance Of Jim Crow Laws
One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. By Martin Luther King Jr. The unjust laws
King was talking about is the Jim Crow Laws. Those laws segregated white folks from black. The
laws had several foolish examples of how blacks slightly ruined white life s. The motto of the Jim
Crow laws was, Separate, but equal However, everyone knew that nothing was equal about those kreul
laws. In this essay, I will be discussing why the Jim Crow laws were not beneficial for anyone living
through that terrible time.
Out of the many childish laws, one that caught my attention was number twenty one. It stated, Prisons:

Teaching and Learning Styles
It is evident that schools in the current society are filled with diversity whether it is culturally,
ethnically or socially (Montgomery Groat, 1998). All of these unique features can play a part in the
type of learning style the child prefers. The personality and genetic makeup of the learner also affects
the way in which they perceive and process information differently to other learners. (Gregorc, 1982)
According Ellis (1985, p.14) a learning style is the more or less consistent way in which a person
perceives, conceptualizes, organizes and recalls information. Therefore it is extremely vital that
teachers adapt their teaching styles within the classroom so that each child is able to gain full
knowledge of content taught and are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These types of learners go hand in hand with the different learning styles, all depending on the
individual themselves.
There are many subjects that do not fit all types of teaching styles, especially when reaching the later
grades in the educational environment. (Lemmer, Meier Van Wyk, 2006) However by this stage most
learners have been equipped with the necessary learning skills to understand and learn by the style that
best suits the subject. Science is a good example as to grasp the concepts of mixing chemicals or
gaining textual knowledge one needs to physically acquire such information by means of experiments
and examinations. In this type of subject reading material would not be enough to gain full
understanding. In universities where there are a great number of students lecturing is the best teaching
method as other teaching methods would fail due to allocated time, space and effectiveness. Yet
lecturing would not work in a Grade. 1 class as the children do not have the skills to understand need
more hands on, personal teaching. Therefore age, knowledge and ability influence the teaching style
an educator may use when teaching particular content. (Lemmer, Meier Van Wyk, 2006)
In conclusion it is inevitable that learners bring to the classroom a great diversity of learning styles. So
as for a teacher it is difficult to please all styles simultaneously, but if you vary the

Military Ethics And The Military
Military ethics encompass a wide range of things. In the contemporary world, military ethics include
all facets of military behavior, from issuing regular reviews on juniors to relations of those in the
military with civilians to matters related to war. Currently, the world has witnessed technological
advancements in various sectors including the military. Indeed, battles between different nations have
become dominated by highly advanced weaponry especially when developed nations are involved. It
is these developments that have raised concerns over the use of highly sophisticated and deadly
weapons. Military ethics dictate how certain weapons should be used and circumstances under which
the military can use lethal force. Different nations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Military ethics, therefore, serve to ensure that only weapons that are universally accepted are used in
war (Gale, 2016). One fundamental principle of just war customs refers to efforts to make war as
compassionate as probable even for the military personnel. The Geneva resolution principles require
that soldiers who lay down their arms during battles be eligible for benevolent confinement by their
imprisoners. The captors are needed to provide them with food, medical care, and housing. Underlying
these ethics is the commonly shared belief that fighter is an impermanent status overriding an essential
common humanity of rivals. Humanitarian concerns over soldiers in the traditional military morals is
demonstrated by attempts to do away with weapons considered to be inhumane. Such efforts began
when the medieval church banned the crossbow since it was perceived to be too accurate and lethal
over long distances. Current world leaders and military leaders have categorized blinding lasers,
hollow point bullets, and the asphyxiating gas as unethical classes of technology that should not be
employed in war. Besides dictating how the military as a whole should conduct itself, military ethics
govern how military personnel should behave. Rules of conduct provide guidelines to those in the
military on standards of behavioral ethics. Those found culpable of violating the ethics are liable for
prosecution under the uniform code of military justice.

Why Eddie Van Halen is an Influential Musician Essay
There are certain musicians that come along that shift a culture, attitude, or future musicians. Another
musician that went on influence future generations and considered one of the greatest guitar players in
the world is Eddie Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen was born in Holland in 1955 and immigrated to
Pasadena California. At the age of seven, Eddie was training as a classical pianist, although his love
for Rock and Roll was developing. He started working a paper route and used the money to buy a
drum set. His brother Alex, also musically inclined, bought a guitar. After months of practicing, Alex
and Eddie switched instruments. Alex would spend hours on Eddie s drums and loved to play them.
Eddie, a little frustrated with the drums, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A little later, Eddie heard Michael Anthony on the bass and thought that he was perfect for their band.
Still, something was missing; Alex thought they needed a front man. He suggested that they let David
Lee Roth be the front man, mainly to save the rent money on the PA system. David Lee came on board
and thought the brother s last name sounded cool, and the rock group Van Halen was born. On one
particular show, Gene Simmons from Kiss caught Van Halen at the local gig. He offered to help them
out. Gene Simmons flew Van Halen to New York to tape a demo and introduced them to the Kiss
production management. They had no interest in Van Halen citing that there was no commercial value
to Van Halen, so the band went back to their local gigs in California. During a show in Hollywood,
Warner Brothers records representative Ted Templeman saw their act and signed them less than a
week later for a record deal with the Warner brother s label. They headed out on the road immediately
and caught up with Warner Brothers headliners to open their shows. The other groups were not very
pleased with the band, especially when Van Halen started getting better reviews. Van Halen was then
off to England to open for another band that Eddie idolized, Black Sabbath. Ozzie was so impressed
with the band that he admitted that Van Halen was outplaying Sabbath. At least that is what Ozzie said
according to the Van Halen camp.
Van Halen went on to record 26 albums in their career with

Chinese Immigration Essay example
In many aspects, the motivations for the Chinese to come to the United States were similar to those of
most immigrants. Some came to The Gold Mountain, and others came to the United States to seek
better economic opportunity. Yet there were others that were compelled to leave China either as
contract laborers or refugees. The Chinese brought with them their language, culture, social
institutions, and customs. Over time they made lasting contributions to their adopted country and
became a vital part of the United States population (Immigration Station).
Upon hearing the word of gold in California, thousands of Chinese, mostly young male peasants, left

Others such as peasants and workers were not allowed to enter due to the Chinese Exclusion Act of
1882. This Act set a precedent by being the first law to ban a specific group from the country. It
included many rules and regulations, including a ban on Chinese laborers entering the country, and
punishment for anyone who tried to sneak or transport Chinese into the country. It was impossible to
absolutely prevent Chinese immigration from occurring, but America tried its best to limit the number
that entered. The shared opinion of many in the United States during this time felt that the Chinese
were inferior, for they did not realize the bigger picture and the actual effect that Chinese would have
on the United States. The American and the Chinese governments agreed that the immigrants were
endangering the government and economy of China. This led them to limit, regulate, or suspend the
residency of Chinese in the United States (Archives 2). The only people they could not keep out were
the Chinese who already had family in the United States.
Many believed the reason the American government decided to adopt this act in the first place, was
due to hatred towards Chinese. Governor Greg Bilger of California wrote,We don’t like these
contract “coolie laborers, avaricious, ignorant of moral obligations, incapable of being
assimilated, and dangerous to the public welfare living in the same area as us (Norton 3). He used

Who Would Have Thought That Soured Beer
Who would have thought that soured beer would begin a study that would one day result in the
discovery of several vaccines for deadly diseases? It all began when Bigo, a man who had
manufactured beer from the sugar beet, went to see Pasteur. Louis Pasteur at the time was the Dean of
the Faculty of Science at the University of Lille in France. Bigo asked Pasteur if he could discover
why some of his beer became sour. Louis Pasteur used a microscope to study the vats of soured beer.
He discovered that there were microorganisms in the beer. Because Louis Pasteur explored the
possibility that these microorganisms were causing what is called putrefaction, a process of organic
breakdown, he discovered many important facts. One of which was that microorganisms existed. He
went on to explore the possibility that these microorganisms, or microbes, can be found airborne.
Even when his peers scoffed at his ideas, Louis continued with his work. After discovering these
microbes in wine, milk, and silkworms, Louis Pasteur believed that these microbes could affect human
beings, that they could cause diseases. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

laundered according to required standard . The transfer of micro organisms can take place through
contact from linen to patients, clients, staff so all stages of linen management must be considered. It
includes storage, handling, bagging, transportation and laundering .To reduce the microbiological
hazard for those who handle soiled and infected linen control measures are necessary. The aim of this

Metaphors In August Wilson s Play Fences
August Wilson s play Fences utilizes strong metaphors in relaying the deeper meaning of the actual
story. The main theme that provides the key to understanding the multiply imagery in this play has to
do with how one s past affects their future, importance of family, the American Dream and
personal/cultural history. Throughout August Wilson s play Fences , it is clearly shown how much
Troy, the father of an African American family, is pulled economically by all of the characters
surrounding him. Taking on the role of the breadwinner to his wife and children reminds Troy how his
father hated doing the same thing and did so with antipathy. The influence of economics along with
past experiences in Troy s life makes him resentful towards his ... Show more content on

The play is set during the 40 s and 50 s, during this Era African Americans faced considerable
obstacles in their everyday lives due to Jim Crow laws and unwritten, racially biased social codes.
These laws and behaviors created strictly segregated barriers, and discrimination pervaded most areas
of life. Despite the ongoing hardships, the 1940s was a time of creativity, increased economic
opportunity and the beginning of the modern civil rights movement. It is as well here where Wilson
talks about how during this time, black athletes had become an integrated part of professional and
college sports. Most all white teams of the World War II and previous years began to include African
Americans by 1947, during the time Jackie Robinson became the first black to play professional
baseball since the color line was drawn in the 1890s. Needless to say, the change still didn t bring the
same opportunity and equality most African Americans had hoped for. Which is why we tend to see
where Troy s angry started, his dream of being in the Major League never came too. Black leagues
began to slowly disappear as more African Americans began to support the now integrated ball teams
Troy Maxson, who had played in the Negro Leagues, found the change to integrated leagues had come
too late; which is why he was too old to play professional

Connie Bertka s A Primer On Science, Religion, Evolution...
Dr. Connie Bertka s essay, A Primer on Science, Religion, Evolution and Creationism, expands on
Kingsolver s idea that science and religion have cohabited by explaining how science and religion are
formative elements that shape society and serves to contribute to the common good. The relationship
between science and religion can be described as a conflict approach which means that science sets
the standard of truth to which religion must adhere to or be dismissed or religion sets the standard to
which science must conform. On the other hand, science and religion can form an interactive
relationship in which ideas converge from a scientific and religious perspective. Dr. Bertka mentions
that religion and science can be taught in a classroom, since their interactive relationship can
constructively benefit from engagement, since they both lead to individual insight and communal
discernment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A superficial examination of Roget s Thesaurus of the English Language reveals the following facts;
the word WHITENESS has 134 synonyms; 44 of which are favorable and pleasing to contemplate, i.e.
purity, cleanness, immaculateness, bright, shining, ivory, fair, blonde, stainless, clean, clear, chaste,
unblemished, unsullied, innocent, honorable, upright, just, straight forward, fair, genuine, trustworthy,

implications and these only in the mildest sense: gloss over, whitewash, gray, wan, pale, ashen, etc.
The word BLACKNESS has 120 synonyms, 60 of which are distinctly unfavorable, and none of them
even mildly positive. Among the offending 60 were such words as: blot, blotch, smut, smudge, sully,

Kudler Fine Foods Network
After reviewing the Kudler Fine Food network, a major network overhaul will need to bring the
network up to par with the latest technology. If Kudler Fine Foods is not able to upgrade their systems
then they will fall behind the technological curve and will not be able to compete with other
companies. Kudler needs to do the upgrade not only to keep up with the advances with network
systems but needs to install the proper systems to increase profits. If Kudler does not do constant
upgrades then they will be forced to pay a larger amount for the larger upgrades in the future. It is vital
to install the proper systems that will have the longevity and the capability for future network
expansion without having to spend money on unnecessary upgrades. Currently all the sites are still
running 56K modems, this technology is outdated. This is technology is hindering the communication
speed between each site. Having a high speed connection is crucial to provide real time updates. These
updates provide the profits made each day and the inventory sold so that those items can be restocked
in real time. These modems will be used as redundant system and a new Wide Area Network (WAN)
will be created, each site will be setup with a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). The WAN will
connect all the WLANs together. This will boost the network speed of the WAN and improve the way
employees communicate. The network will be able to support a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)

Examples Of Technology In Fahrenheit 451
In Ray Bradbury s novel, Fahrenheit 451, multiple ideas and themes are shown similar between
Bradbury s envisioned society and today s society. Technology, increase in efficiency due to
technology, and thrill seeking behaviors, are all ideas that are portrayed by Bradbury.
Technology is a common similarity that is brought up many times in both Fahrenheit s society and is
often brought up in today s society. When Bradbury wrote this novel, he was concerned that television
would drown out literature in the future as it became more popular. One might argue that the
introduction of the internet and social media has led people to prefer cyber relationships over human
relationships. An example of this in today s society could be the people on the subway train. We tend
to refrain from communication with others and the best way to do that is by entering our virtual reality
in our technology. But, this hasn t happened to an extent portrayed in the book. Montag, the main
character, begins to interact with a girl named Clarisse in the book, she asks him questions like, Are
you happy (pg.10). In Fahrenheit 451 s society, people haven t totally lost the ability or will to connect
to one another in person. Bradbury provides many examples of how technology has blinded people in
his envisioned society. Mildred, Montag s wife, is a perfect example of how technology is slowly
consuming the lives of people in Fahrenheit 451. Everyday Mildred sits in her room surrounded by a
wall of

Discrimination against African Americans in The Invisible Man
In the 1950s African Americans were treated unfairly and discriminated against. During the post civil
war time tensions were still high, the discrimination and separation between the blacks and whites was
still prevalent. Discrimination is portrayed through Jim Crow laws, which affected every African
American tremendously, the narrator s experience at the Battle Royal, and the narrator s transition
from the black college to New York and The Brotherhood. In the Invisible Man, Ellison utilizes
characterization to represent the division between whites and blacks in America in the 1950s.

Before the fighting the white women were presented as the forbidden fruit. The Battle Royal incident
showed the white women being paraded before the black boys as something to look at, to admire, and
to desire, but not to touch (Sistrunk Krakue 1). Sistrunk Krakue describes the white women in the
novel as royalty, like prized possessions, as if this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these
women. These women are presented as dreams because the description includes admiration, desire,
but something they can t actually attain. The white women show division of social classes because
they looked around with their impersonal eyes (Ellison 19). The eyes give away the fact that the
women don t even acknowledge anyone around them, they are just doing what they re order to do by
the wealthy white men. Sistrunk Krakue s idea of dreaminess and royalty of the white women places
them on an entirely different social platform, one that would be an impossible feat for a black boy.
This judgment of the white women further explains the disrespect that blacks receive in society and
how they re judged in most every facet of life.
Within Invisible Man, judgment of races is a commonplace in society, Ellison exemplifies this point
by starting the novel with a presentation of judgment between races. The town s privileged white men
invite the narrator to give his prestigious speech at their

The Size Of The House Of Representatives
In 1787, one of the most debated issues was the size of the House of Representatives. During the
Constitutional Convention, the delegates proposed that 40,000 citizens should be represented by one
congressional district. However, George Washington intervened and argued that 40,000 was too high,
and reasoned that 30,000 was more reasonable and allow people to be represented adequately
Washington s proposal was incorporated in Article One, Section Two of the Constitution which states
representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers,
counting the whole number of persons in each State. While the number of representatives did increase
throughout the history of the United States, the number has been set at 435 members since 1929.
Congress in 1929 passed the Permanent Apportionment Act that set the number of representatives at
435, which was set after a 1910 census. Currently each representative represents 700,000 citizens and
congressional seats are redistricted around the nation based on population changes. But the currently
number of representatives does not adequately represent the present population and a single district
cannot represent a huge number of people. Therefore, the current number of representatives must be
increased. After the Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929, congressional seats are move around the
nation after each decennial census However, each state is entitled to one seat, no matter how large its

Intersectional Feminism And Universal Sisterhood
One central misconception about feminism is that it only addresses the concerns of middle class white
women. There are numerous reasons why feminism interactions with a diverse population of women,
not just the middle class white women. Feminism is intersectional, meaning that it discusses how
multiple social categories intersect at the micro level of individual experience reflect multiple
interlocking systems of privilege and oppression at the macro, social structural level. It approaches an
array of women, helping women contest to racism, sexism, discrimination and oppression in various

women to hear the oppressions, complications, and difficulties other women throughout the world are
experiencing. It further permits women to work together in ending the many injustices occurring. The
development of the concept of Universal Sisterhood aims to guide women in ending injustices towards
women. The notion of Universal Sisterhood aims to unite and solidify women among all races,
ethnicities, classes, sexual orientations, and religions. It is advocating for equality while combating the

  • 2. My Comprehensive Collaboration Project Involved A School... My comprehensive collaboration project involved a school community meeting, involving people with various association to education. The meeting originated because of the first workshop poor parental involvement and lack of community communication, concerning date, time, topic, and activities. After this disappointing blow and only two district teachers spearheading the event and activities, a decision evolved, making team membership accessible to all affiliates of education. Meeting members were paraprofessionals, a master teacher, retired teacher who is now a community volunteer and a guardian of a grandchild attending school in the district. Within the room, including myself was a total of ninety five years of education related experiences. It was important to promote shared decision making by including people with different views and implementation styles. When planning the organization of group members, I kept in mind the ultimate goal of building trust, through professional participation in community events, thus embracing opportunities of personal interactions outside school community. Members were willing participants, who close ties, through daily interaction in neighboring community after school hours, therefore made their involvement planning parent events crucial for community team success. Our school community team was in the functioning developmental stage of collaborative teaming. Through census, norms were set, which we all agreed to follow and later, if ... • 3. The Code Of Conduct Set By The International Gymnastics... A score of 10.00 for a single routine is under the code of conduct set by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). It was originally thought to be unattainable, until 1976; when Nadia Comaneci scored the first ever perfect ten. There have been a few perfect scores after Comaneci, like the first male to score 10.00, Alexander Dityatin in 1980. The last two perfect tens that were given were in Barcelona in 1992. Between 1976 and 1992, lots of 10.00 were given out; making a perfect ten lose its meaning. In the years following, the skills got harder, the equipment changed and the code of points changed, making a perfect ten physically impossible. If one were to watch Nadia Comaneci s bar routine and compare it to Gabby Douglas bar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The women s uneven bars evolved from the men s parallel bars, which were originally fixed wooden rails set in the ground. Today both use flexible, adjustable rails that absorb shock and provide bounce for the gymnasts. Finally the balance beam was a long, narrow block of wood, mostly because routines focused more on the dance than the tumbling. Olga Korbut and Nadia Comaneci introduced powerful tumbling in the 1970s, thus the beams had to change to increase safety. Now beams are padded with rounded, cushioning material to absorb shock of tumbling and jumping gymnasts. Grips help to grip the bar, and reduce the friction between the bar and the gymnast s hand. This helps to reduce the number of rips, which helps the gymnast perform more skills in less pain. Throughout the years the Code of Points has been changed by the International Gymnastics Federation. A new scoring system was introduced in 2006. It consists of an A score, based on the difficulty of elements, and a B score, based on artistic impression. The way to max out your A score is to cram the toughest possible moves into your routine and pack them as tightly together as you can manage. While the B score starts from 10, and points are taken off for mistakes such as flexed feet or bent knees. And the two scores are put together to create the final score. By doing this it has eliminated the perfect 10, as athletes can go over a 10.00 score. Gymnasts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Loss, Breakup And Sorrow Loss, breakup and sorrow Grief is part of the process of healing and recovery from a loss. Grieving is a very personal experience with a strong cultural perspective and there is no pattern regarding the length of mourning and grief. Experiencing the loss of a loved one takes a heavy toll on your emotional health. Anyhow you grieve for your loss, grief is sufferance, and there is always a point when you cannot take it anymore. It always comes a day when you want to let go and you want to step further, beyond your pain. Unfortunately, beginning the healing and recovery process is not simple. When your grief lasts too long or is too intense, when you re going to extremes to avoid thinking or talking about your loss, when you have no more tears to cry, when you re overwhelmed and incapacitated because of your persistent grief, pain, sadness and fear, than most probably you need help. When you ll be ready to let go of your loss and to move on, I can help you ease your painful feelings that are holding you back. Originally from the distillation of wood but now oxidizing methane. In 1923 German chemists had figured out how to make a synthetic methyl alcohol called methanol. They put carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen into an industrial pressure cooker and superheated it to more than 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Methyl Alcohol isn t a poison like cyanide. It didn t make you violently sick then kill you. A lethal undiluted dose is little as two teaspoons for a child, and a quarter cup for a man. I understand the situation would have been a hard one to solve, but it seemed with every decision made to try to fix it, the problem just got worse. The sickly patients hallucinated, vomited, and were blinded by the wood alcohol. In hospitals there was even a special unit called the alcoholic ward, specialized much like the way burn units are today. The theme of liberation or freedom manifests itself in works from all over the world, taking on different aspects to fit the time in which the story takes place. In Latin America, writers explore the concept of social realism, in which an artist depicts contemporary life realistically in order to make a political comment on society s current situation. This stems from a long history of turmoil and unrest in the region, including corrupt leaders and poor living and working conditions for a majority of the population. Similarly, in Africa, the colonial takeover and exploitation of small villages led to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... African oppression through leadership began in the late nineteenth Century with the Berlin Conference (1884 85). During this time, the newly industrialized European powers gathered together in order to divide Africa up amongst themselves for imperialism. Imperialism is a form of government in which a mother country maintains governmental control of a nation, meanwhile extracting the country s natural resources. This practice came about with industrialization since the growing infrastructure led to a call for more materials. Colonizers would gain the trust of a clan through trade, religion, and the wealth the Europeans brought with them. After trust was established they began their tyrannical rule. In Things Fall Apart, the main character, Okonkwo, documents his clan s take over. He came quietly and peacefully with his religion. We were amused at his foolishness and allowed him to stay. Now he has won our brothers, and our clan can no longer act like one (Achebe 152). Once Okonkwo realizes his clan s grave mistake in taking the missionaries in, he attempts to strike a rebellion, however fails, eventually reverting to suicide to free himself from the mess the European colonizers placed him and his people (the Igbo) in. It is in this way that African literature exemplifies the theme of liberation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Japan Final Reflection Paper Son Huynh Final Reflection Japan is in a mission to search for energy after the devastated earthquake and tsunami in 2011. People are afraid of nuclear power, yet there is no way to stop the production of nuclear power completely. Japan is heavily depending on nuclear because it is cheaper than buying resources from the Middle East. In the long run, this will impact Japan s economic and climate change. There is no right or wrong to this decision, but one thing for sure, Japan needs a new form of energy. Japan population has been declining at a rapid rate. There is no real solution to prevent the population from decreasing. From my perspective, Japanese families tend to live far away from each other. The reason behind this is due to work. People in Tokyo will get a better paying job than people in Matsuyama, so most of them are looking to work in a bigger city. At the host family that I went to live with for two days, the mother will wake up early to prepare breakfast and bento for her child. In the US, no one will prepare breakfast or lunch for you. Everyone has their own business to take care of. However, Japan is totally different from the western culture. People share their worries to get things done. Even though they are not family, the way they interact with each other is just so heartwarming. For these house wife, every day is pretty much the same. I believe Japanese government need to push more support for women. Japanese women tend to lose their jobs if they decide to have a baby. Child care is expensive and not everyone wants to do it. Therefore, many Japanese women rather keep their jobs than having a child because they will lose the ability to do what they love. Most people hate doing something that they don t enjoy, so if there is no benefit from it; no one will want to waste their time doing such job. If there are more support for women to have a child, then the population will increase overtime. At this point, there are less younger people than old people because they are not interested to date anyone. If the government won t act now, the consequence will impact Japan in the long run. • 9. Applying Dynamic Systems Theory Concepts And Ecological... Introduction The purpose of this paper is to theoretically analyze a case that involves a six year old girl with behavior problems believed to result from past sexual abuse. Using a holistic biopsychosocial approach during analysis should provide useful information for applying theories to show causes and effects of her experiences and behavior. At the completion of analysis, I will have learned the importance of knowing the whole integrated systems, how to apply dynamic systems theory concepts and ecological perspectives when assessing a case, and how to identify strengths and limitations of theories. Biopsychosocial Assessment Biological This case is about Emma. Emma was a full term baby, and because she was full term, one could assume all her major organs were fully developed. Her brain was normal for a full term baby, as well. One could speculate the reason she met all early developmental milestones was due to being full term. Looking from a neurobiological perspective, we know very little about Emma s brain; however, we do know her conduct is of concern to both her mother and pediatrician. At a crucial stage of brain development, Emma experienced sexual abuse. One could conclude that her brain was neurologically affected which has resulted in behavior problems due to the condition of her environment. Psychological It took a great deal of courage for Emma to tell her mother about the abuse, and her mother was courageous enough to report it immediately and seek ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Teaching and Learning Styles It is evident that schools in the current society are filled with diversity whether it is culturally, ethnically or socially (Montgomery Groat, 1998). All of these unique features can play a part in the type of learning style the child prefers. The personality and genetic makeup of the learner also affects the way in which they perceive and process information differently to other learners. (Gregorc, 1982) According Ellis (1985, p.14) a learning style is the more or less consistent way in which a person perceives, conceptualizes, organizes and recalls information. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These types of learners go hand in hand with the different learning styles, all depending on the individual themselves. There are many subjects that do not fit all types of teaching styles, especially when reaching the later grades in the educational environment. (Lemmer, Meier Van Wyk, 2006) However by this stage most learners have been equipped with the necessary learning skills to understand and learn by the style that best suits the subject. Science is a good example as to grasp the concepts of mixing chemicals or gaining textual knowledge one needs to physically acquire such information by means of experiments and examinations. In this type of subject reading material would not be enough to gain full understanding. In universities where there are a great number of students lecturing is the best teaching method as other teaching methods would fail due to allocated time, space and effectiveness. Yet lecturing would not work in a Grade. 1 class as the children do not have the skills to understand need more hands on, personal teaching. Therefore age, knowledge and ability influence the teaching style an educator may use when teaching particular content. In the contemporary world, military ethics include all facets of military behavior, from issuing regular reviews on juniors to relations of those in the military with civilians to matters related to war. Currently, the world has witnessed technological advancements in various sectors including the military. Indeed, battles between different nations have become dominated by highly advanced weaponry especially when developed nations are involved. It is these developments that have raised concerns over the use of highly sophisticated and deadly weapons. Military ethics, therefore, serve to ensure that only weapons that are universally accepted are used in war (Gale, 2016). One fundamental principle of just war customs refers to efforts to make war as compassionate as probable even for the military personnel. The Geneva resolution principles require that soldiers who lay down their arms during battles be eligible for benevolent confinement by their imprisoners. The captors are needed to provide them with food, medical care, and housing. Underlying these ethics is the commonly shared belief that fighter is an impermanent status overriding an essential common humanity of rivals. Humanitarian concerns over soldiers in the traditional military morals is demonstrated by attempts to do away with weapons considered to be inhumane. Such efforts began when the medieval church banned the crossbow since it was perceived to be too accurate and lethal over long distances. Current world leaders and military leaders have categorized blinding lasers, hollow point bullets, and the asphyxiating gas as unethical classes of technology that should not be employed in war. Besides dictating how the military as a whole should conduct itself, military ethics govern how military personnel should behave. Rules of conduct provide guidelines to those in the military on standards of behavioral ethics. Those found culpable of violating the ethics are liable for prosecution under the uniform code of military justice. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another musician that went on influence future generations and considered one of the greatest guitar players in the world is Eddie Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen was born in Holland in 1955 and immigrated to Pasadena California. At the age of seven, Eddie was training as a classical pianist, although his love for Rock and Roll was developing. He started working a paper route and used the money to buy a drum set. His brother Alex, also musically inclined, bought a guitar. After months of practicing, Alex and Eddie switched instruments. He suggested that they let David Lee Roth be the front man, mainly to save the rent money on the PA system. David Lee came on board and thought the brother s last name sounded cool, and the rock group Van Halen was born. On one particular show, Gene Simmons from Kiss caught Van Halen at the local gig. He offered to help them out. Gene Simmons flew Van Halen to New York to tape a demo and introduced them to the Kiss production management. They had no interest in Van Halen citing that there was no commercial value to Van Halen, so the band went back to their local gigs in California. During a show in Hollywood, Warner Brothers records representative Ted Templeman saw their act and signed them less than a week later for a record deal with the Warner brother s label. They headed out on the road immediately and caught up with Warner Brothers headliners to open their shows. The other groups were not very pleased with the band, especially when Van Halen started getting better reviews. Van Halen was then off to England to open for another band that Eddie idolized, Black Sabbath. Ozzie was so impressed with the band that he admitted that Van Halen was outplaying Sabbath. Some came to The Gold Mountain, and others came to the United States to seek better economic opportunity. Yet there were others that were compelled to leave China either as contract laborers or refugees. The Chinese brought with them their language, culture, social institutions, and customs. This Act set a precedent by being the first law to ban a specific group from the country. It included many rules and regulations, including a ban on Chinese laborers entering the country, and punishment for anyone who tried to sneak or transport Chinese into the country. It was impossible to absolutely prevent Chinese immigration from occurring, but America tried its best to limit the number that entered. The shared opinion of many in the United States during this time felt that the Chinese were inferior, for they did not realize the bigger picture and the actual effect that Chinese would have on the United States. The American and the Chinese governments agreed that the immigrants were endangering the government and economy of China. This led them to limit, regulate, or suspend the residency of Chinese in the United States (Archives 2). The only people they could not keep out were the Chinese who already had family in the United States. Many believed the reason the American government decided to adopt this act in the first place, was due to hatred towards Chinese. It all began when Bigo, a man who had manufactured beer from the sugar beet, went to see Pasteur. Louis Pasteur at the time was the Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Lille in France. Bigo asked Pasteur if he could discover why some of his beer became sour. Louis Pasteur used a microscope to study the vats of soured beer. He discovered that there were microorganisms in the beer. One of which was that microorganisms existed. He went on to explore the possibility that these microorganisms, or microbes, can be found airborne. • 24. Metaphors In August Wilson s Play Fences August Wilson s play Fences utilizes strong metaphors in relaying the deeper meaning of the actual story. The main theme that provides the key to understanding the multiply imagery in this play has to do with how one s past affects their future, importance of family, the American Dream and personal/cultural history. Throughout August Wilson s play Fences , it is clearly shown how much Troy, the father of an African American family, is pulled economically by all of the characters surrounding him. Taking on the role of the breadwinner to his wife and children reminds Troy how his father hated doing the same thing and did so with antipathy. The play is set during the 40 s and 50 s, during this Era African Americans faced considerable obstacles in their everyday lives due to Jim Crow laws and unwritten, racially biased social codes. These laws and behaviors created strictly segregated barriers, and discrimination pervaded most areas of life. Despite the ongoing hardships, the 1940s was a time of creativity, increased economic opportunity and the beginning of the modern civil rights movement. It is as well here where Wilson talks about how during this time, black athletes had become an integrated part of professional and college sports. Most all white teams of the World War II and previous years began to include African Americans by 1947, during the time Jackie Robinson became the first black to play professional baseball since the color line was drawn in the 1890s. Needless to say, the change still didn t bring the same opportunity and equality most African Americans had hoped for. Which is why we tend to see where Troy s angry started, his dream of being in the Major League never came too. Black leagues began to slowly disappear as more African Americans began to support the now integrated ball teams Troy Maxson, who had played in the Negro Leagues, found the change to integrated leagues had come too late; which is why he was too old to play professional ... Dr. Connie Bertka s essay, A Primer on Science, Religion, Evolution and Creationism, expands on Kingsolver s idea that science and religion have cohabited by explaining how science and religion are formative elements that shape society and serves to contribute to the common good. The relationship between science and religion can be described as a conflict approach which means that science sets the standard of truth to which religion must adhere to or be dismissed or religion sets the standard to which science must conform. On the other hand, science and religion can form an interactive relationship in which ideas converge from a scientific and religious perspective. • 31. Examples Of Technology In Fahrenheit 451 In Ray Bradbury s novel, Fahrenheit 451, multiple ideas and themes are shown similar between Bradbury s envisioned society and today s society. Technology, increase in efficiency due to technology, and thrill seeking behaviors, are all ideas that are portrayed by Bradbury. Technology is a common similarity that is brought up many times in both Fahrenheit s society and is often brought up in today s society. When Bradbury wrote this novel, he was concerned that television would drown out literature in the future as it became more popular. One might argue that the introduction of the internet and social media has led people to prefer cyber relationships over human relationships. An example of this in today s society could be the people on the subway train. We tend to refrain from communication with others and the best way to do that is by entering our virtual reality in our technology. But, this hasn t happened to an extent portrayed in the book. Montag, the main character, begins to interact with a girl named Clarisse in the book, she asks him questions like, Are you happy (pg.10). In Fahrenheit 451 s society, people haven t totally lost the ability or will to connect to one another in person. Bradbury provides many examples of how technology has blinded people in his envisioned society. Mildred, Montag s wife, is a perfect example of how technology is slowly consuming the lives of people in Fahrenheit 451. Everyday Mildred sits in her room surrounded by a wall of ... Discrimination is portrayed through Jim Crow laws, which affected every African American tremendously, the narrator s experience at the Battle Royal, and the narrator s transition from the black college to New York and The Brotherhood. Before the fighting the white women were presented as the forbidden fruit. The Battle Royal incident showed the white women being paraded before the black boys as something to look at, to admire, and to desire, but not to touch (Sistrunk Krakue 1). Sistrunk Krakue describes the white women in the novel as royalty, like prized possessions, as if this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these women. These women are presented as dreams because the description includes admiration, desire, but something they can t actually attain. The white women show division of social classes because they looked around with their impersonal eyes (Ellison 19). The eyes give away the fact that the women don t even acknowledge anyone around them, they are just doing what they re order to do by the wealthy white men. Sistrunk Krakue s idea of dreaminess and royalty of the white women places them on an entirely different social platform, one that would be an impossible feat for a black boy. This judgment of the white women further explains the disrespect that blacks receive in society and how they re judged in most every facet of life. Within Invisible Man, judgment of races is a commonplace in society, Ellison exemplifies this point by starting the novel with a presentation of judgment between races. The town s privileged white men invite the narrator to give his prestigious speech at their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During the Constitutional Convention, the delegates proposed that 40,000 citizens should be represented by one congressional district. However, George Washington intervened and argued that 40,000 was too high, and reasoned that 30,000 was more reasonable and allow people to be represented adequately Washington s proposal was incorporated in Article One, Section Two of the Constitution which states representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State. While the number of representatives did increase throughout the history of the United States, the number has been set at 435 members since 1929. Congress in 1929 passed the Permanent Apportionment Act that set the number of representatives at 435, which was set after a 1910 census. Currently each representative represents 700,000 citizens and congressional seats are redistricted around the nation based on population changes. But the currently number of representatives does not adequately represent the present population and a single district cannot represent a huge number of people.
