Designing Projects For The Public

Designing Projects for the Public
Thousands people all over the world share their ideas to create future projects and that project is
in art and animation. It is really wise to start from the very beginning. The process of creating or
even preparing for a big project takes time. In order to make a character or idea come to life one
needs the right tools. This is where the skills in art come in, basically the fun part. Everyone
would like to see their ideas come to life and sharing it with the public. Soon this will lead any
person to create a project that involves gaming and animated television shows. Before starting a
project there are a few things a person may need. A character may be the important thing but there
are other factors that are far more important. What would the character do or what environment
would it be placed in? The Developer also has to think about the storyboard which involves
writing. Every project needs to start with a story (How a Game pg.1). A person can make up their
own story and can also receive help from anyone assisting in the project. Everyone may be
inspired by something they have seen which gives them many ideas for a good story. it is
important for the team to come up with a decision so they can know what fits. Once it is decided
the team will start to work on the storyboard (How a Game pg.2).

Emotion and Procedural Memory
Do you remember how you learned how to ride a bike, read a book, or read a book? These and
many more activities you are allowed to do are all cause of procedural memory. Procedural
memory are the motor skills that you have developed from repeated times. These things, such as
walking, talking, eating, start when you are born. You do these motor skills and actions so
much that they become more of a habit and you do not notice that you are actually do them.
People do not stop and say to their selves Remember to breath, in, then out or to walk, you put
your right foot out first, then your left . That would make life a little more difficult than it already
is. Humans and animals can learn with feedback. For example, when we start driving, we will
learn the amount of pressure we have to put on the peddle for the car not to go to fast or too slow.
Perceptual learningtraining with feedback is not formally different from that experienced by a rat
required to choose between a triangle and circle, say, when one of these is followed by a given
outcome (e.g., access to food) and one is not. Contemporary associative theories of animal
discrimination learning (e.g., that proposed by Rescorla Wagner, 1972) provide an explanation of
such learning (Mitchell Hall, 2014). Another habit we have as humans are is superstitious learning.
Superstitious learning is actions performed even when there is no causal relationship between the
action and its consequences (Eichenbaum, 2008). For

What Are The Similarities Between Debs And Schenck
The critics of World War I, specifically Eugene V. Debs and Charles Schenck, were American. An
American is a person of United States citizenship who upholds the values, ideas, and traditions
upon which America was founded. Debs and Schenck believed that those who went to war were
anti Americans. They themselves must be Americans if they oppose anti Americans. The Schenck
Pamphlet states, war is an insult to every good and wholesome American tradition. He is up front
on his belief in American tradition. He is arguing that those who encourage war are anti American.
Eugene V. Debs sarcastically states in his speech, These... tyrants, red handed robbers and murders,
[say they re] the patriots. Eugene opposes those who support World War I, his belief making them
anti American. If one opposes those who are against an entity for the reason that they are against
the entity, must believe in the entity themselves to care about the opposers.... Show more content on

Some who cares enough to say I am not a blank, must want to be viewed as a blank, blank being
an American in this scenario. Eugene V. Debs states, the men who have the courage to stand
face to face with them , speak the truth, and fight for their exploited victims they are [called] the
disloyalists and traitors. Schenck s Pamphlet asks its reader, Are you with the forces of liberty
and light or war and darkness? Those who are the light and speak the truth would be Debs,
Schenck, and others with similar ideas; Those who are darkness would be the supporter of World
War I. They make the supporters the bad guys and anti Americans and the opposers the good guys
and the Americans. The supporters say the inverse and Debs and Schenck reject this

Pancake Research Paper
Hello, I am a pancake shaped as Mickey Mouse. I am extremely scared because my family is being
sent into the air by a giant. They are being launched and travel over a huge plateau and disappear
so I can t see where they are going. It looks like they are making it over to small landing pads held
by smaller giants. There are more pancakes under me, we are not looking forward to the flight. I
watch in horror as more of my familyis flung across from one giant to the landing pads. There are
lots of cheering sounds as they make it safely on the landing pads and boo when we don t. I notice
that the smallest giant has a better rate of success.
It is nearing my turn and I have noticed that some of us are ripping apart mid flight. I am so

Inheritance Of Loss By Kiran Desai
Inheritance of loss, is a moving novel by Indian writer Kiran Desai, whereby we see the effect of
colonialism and post colonialism and the consequence that comes with it. Many critical themes are
explored, Leach lists them as colonialism, a revolution, multi ethnic nationhood and illegal
immigration in the US, where political allegiance impacts on love affairs, and where the reality of
life in a grubby New York basement reshapes the American Dream (2007). Desai mentions many of
these historical events in her novel that give us and insight view as to what was happening on the
inside, within the people of India, as opposed to only seeing the surface and elections going on.
Desai looks at the younger generation as being mainly affected by... Show more content on

would have brought upon the commissioner was enough for the Judge to have lost his career at the
time. Consequently, he lost his temper and abused his wife for this unintentional action. It is quite
ironic that Desai has the Judge, Jemubhai Patel, ruling for the opposition, since in the history of

Robert Frost sHome Burial, By Robert Frost
Home Burial
Robert Frost s poem Home Burial speaks of the tragedies in a couple s life. The theme of Home
Burial is centered around the death of a child. During the time period in which this poem took
place it seems that men did not show their feelings well. Home Burial demonstrates how one
tragedy can cause another to occur. The couple in this poem has lost a baby to death. The
mother is grieving and it seems she doesn t recover from this loss; parents who lose a child never
forget, but most people do find ways to cope and move on in life. The baby is buried in the family
burial site and can be seen from a window in the couple s home. Day after day she goes to the
stairway window looking at the family plot. Looking at the place where her child s body is buried
continues the sadness she feels. But, another emotion is contained in this wife and mother and that
is anger and bitterness at her husband. At first, the reason for her anger seems unknown. The
reasoning starts to show when it says she refused him any help, with the least stiffening of her
neck and silence. (lines13 14) Their dialogue is cold. What is it what? /Just that I see. / You don t,
she challenged. /Tell me what it is. (lines18 19). In the husband s first couple of lines and his last
one, his attitude toward his wife seems insensitive. First he tells her he wants to know why she
keeps looking at through the window; then he tells her she must tell him. Even though he ends the

Tyranny Research Paper
In this essay I will attempt to prove that a typical tyrant does not exist as each have their own
ambitions. The issue with asking whether there is such thing as a typical tyrant arises from the fact
that we must consider what the word tyrant actually means. The Oxford Classical Dictionary states,
Tyranny was not a special form of constitution, or necessarily a reign of terror; the tyrantmight
either rule directly or retain the existing political institutions but exercise a preponderant influence
over their working, and his rule might be benevolent or malevolent. , clearly tyranny is not as
simple as the modern connotation of a power hungry despot. In comparison, the Cambridge
Dictionary Online defines tyranny as, government by a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Contrary to the modern view of a tyrant as a warlord, some were actually quite invested in the
arts and in building projects. Herodotos records that the same bloodthirsty Periander also
supported the poet Arion in his invention of the dithyramb . This suggests another facet to
Periander s character (he is not just bloodthirsty, he is political too) which makes it harder to state
that there is such a thing as a common tyrant. Pausanias (AD 110 c.180) comments on Theagenes
fountain house at Megara which was, remarkable for its size, beauty and the number of pillars ;
this show of euergetism and munificence would make a tyrant seem important, powerful and
remind the people that he is their leader. Interestingly, the tyrant of Samos, Polykrates paid the
poet Ibykos to glorify himself with the quotation, ...and you Polykrates will have undying renown
which is a contribution to the arts and a means of building his own prestige. Thus we see that
some tyrants follow a more political and shrewd concept of governance which actually comes into
conflict with Plato and Aristotle s views that a tyrants rule is barbaric in nature as these same
tyrants use wisdom to craft their personae.
In conclusion, there is no such thing as a typical tyrant as ambitions vary between each tyrant.
Thus, a leader such as Pittakos is defined by Aristotle as an aisymnetes which is an elected tyrant
whose rule is tyrant like and non ancestral meaning that it is not inherited like the Kypselid tyranny.
This illustrates the point that tyrant is just a label used to depict one man rule and therefore it is
difficult to speak of a common tyrant as they each their own

Spinal Cord Injury In Pediatric Rehabilitation
Neurological gait disorders such as cerebral palsy (CP) or a spinal cord injury diagnosed in
children bring about varies types of complications. A commonly known complication caused by
neurological disorders is walking impairment. Medical professionals are on the search to conclude
if whether or not there is a way to increase the improvement of this health impediment. According to
studies, rehabilitation is a major source to overcoming such outcome, since regaining the capacity
of walking is one of most vital critical components of rehabilitation. However, most rehabilitative
training programs are less effective than what they need to be in order to obtain an optimal

The Root Cause Of Gun Violence In Bowling For Columbine By...
In the documentary Bowling for Columbine by Michael Moore, talks about the root cause of
gun violence in the United States of America. The documentary shows how more than 11, 127
people die every year from guns whereas 381 in Germany, 255 in France, 165 in Canada, 68 in
the United Kingdom, 65 in Australia, and 39 in Japan. Many say that violent movies, video
games, and violent rock artists such as Marilyn Manson contribute to gun violence in America
but violent movies are seen in France, violent video games are from Japan, and Marilyn Manson
is heard in Germany. Also, guns in America are easy to obtain as in the documentary Moore got
a free gun as he signed up for an account and only required to get a background check. However,
fear is the root cause of America gun violence as people fear getting killed it leads to others
getting killed. For example, in the documentary Moore shows that the media promotes fear in
the American news program as they only focus on negative news such as violence and death
such as in the news they state, Tonight in South Central, a drive by shooting . It makes people
fear certain places such as going to South Central as they portray it to be a dangerous place to go
to as the news shows all the negative things that happen there such as crimes which make people
fear to go there. Where in Canada news are positive and focus on what is going around town.
They are not talking about what can kill you or get you sick which is why they don t live in fear
as they even leave their house unlocked and don t have loaded arms. Moore goes further on to
ask a news reporter if he would go to a gun shooting before he went to a child near drowning and
the reporter would rather go to a gun shooting. It is seen that people are more afraid of each other
in America than in other countries. Americans are fearful of their own fellow Americans as Moore
s illustrates a cartoon that portrays American history, of fearing each other as it shows when the
pilgrims first arrived to America because they were scared but when they arrived they were greeted
by savages so they killed them because they got scared and then they began to fear each other then
they signed the 2nd amendment which stated that every white

Essay On Nigger
Nigger
Nigger The word Nigger is said to be a term used to refer to a black or dark skinned person. Over
the years, the word Nigger has many meanings. The word nigger has been used as a strongly
negative term of contempt for a black person since at least the 18th century. Today it stays a
standout amongst the most racially hostile words in the dialect.
Nigger was first known as the word Neger from the Scottish and northern England language. The
word nigger was known as NГЁgre from the French and Negro from Spanish. By the late 17th
century, the word became known as Nigger. From the earliest usage it was known as the term
that carries with it all the obloquy and contempt and rejection which whites have inflicted on
blacks (Isaacs, 1965). As black inferiority was at one time a near universal assumption in English
speaking lands, the word in some cases could be used without deliberate insult. The word was also
used by English settlers to describe dark skinned native peoples in India, Australia, and Polynesia
In African Americanculture today, the word Nigger is utilized lovingly, or a term of charm. The
word has gained more acceptance in recent years in youth culture through song lyrics and stand up
comedy. Some claim that the word can be defused through reclaiming it. ... Show more content on

Over the last decades, information warfare has become a societal issue. Research shows that
information warfare does not exclude to military, and have penetrated into commercial word. This

Information is a valuable asset for businesses and organizations. Advances in information
technology facilities the storing, transferring, and modifying of data. Organizations use information
technologies such as the Internet and networked technology to reduce operating costs, improve
customer service, and improve productivity. However, Using the Internet has increased the number
of frontier that must be protected and has bought a lot of concerns about security issues. (Ezingeard,

The Battle Of Inter State War
Bull defines war as organized violence carried on by political units against each other (184). With
respect to this broad definition, both he and Waltz posit models of conflict which can effectively
be used to analyze the sources of modern violence. The warrior scholars employ the theories of
multiple political philosophers including Kant and Rousseau in order to build theories that
encapsulate the complex variables which lead to armed engagement. These theories can be
extrapolated in order to explain the causes of inter statewar, and to provide explanations of violence
in the modern global theatre. Overall, Waltz s argument of the three images is extremely
persuasive. The logical underpinnings of the models and the ways in which they collaborate are,
for the most part, concrete and well thought out. His theory provides for three basic ideas through
which the origins of all conflict can be distilled. First, Waltz (1959) provides that thinkers such as
Spinoza place the responsibility of violence at the feet of human imperfection and lack of reason.
Secondly, he postulates that domestic policy of a state will lead to conflict (Waltz 1959). Finally,
the theorist channels Rousseau s The Social Contract to explain warfare as a symptom of
international relations(Waltz 1959). The ways in which these three ideas correlate are what make
Waltz s explanation so compelling. The first two of these images, the man and the state, explain
how a country behaves internally. The

Nietzshean And Marx s Influence On Demian
Nietzshean And Marx s Influence On Demian
The novel Demian is highly influenced by some of Nietzsche s and Marx s ideas. Demian is an
important character that displays Nietzschean qualities of the overman (Nietzsche 125). With his
meeting with Sinclair, Demian put the seeds of doubt in Sinclair s mind about conception of truth
and the will of power that are both concepts found in Nietzsche s work. Demian also resembles
Nietzsche s character of Zarathustra and how he believes the importance of creating new set of
values. The resemblance with Marx is Demian s and Sinclair s belief that we should seek answers
within ourselves and not from a metaphysical world.

However, they believe that the traditional values need to be re evaluated through their journey to

destruction and creation. The creation of new values could only be possible if the creation of a
new god takes place. Unlike Nietzsche, Hesse did not transmit the message that religion was
something to avoid and completely destruct. Demian and Sinclair still want to believe in a
superior figure, but a new one that has different values than the Abrahamic god. We can think of
the name as referring to something like a deity whose symbolic task is to unite the divine and the

immediately sets out to tell Threarah. After Fiver and Hazel finally reach the distanced
Threarah, he ignores them. Threarah scolds them for interrupting his sleep and his patience.
This decision is important in displaying the desire for power in Threarah; he knows that if he

take mounds of time and effort, but the decision would also be Threarah s. This means that if
the move was a bad decision he could possibly lose his power. Threarah is willing to risk the

Prehistoric Man Has Endured Misinformation, Stereotypes,...
Prehistoric man has endured misinformation, stereotypes, and a lack of information. The Upper
Paleolithic Epoch started 40,000 years ago and goes on until about 12,000 years ago and glacial ice
was on the move. Periods of extreame cold were cycled with warmer weather. The habitats of
humans and animals was undergoing great and significant changes. Herds of wooly mammoth were
moving about, hunter gathers were following. Through recent discoveries and expansions on old
theories, prehistoric man began enjoying a renaissance. The Springfield Museum is proud to shed a
new light on ancient man through our exhibit: Prehistoric Man: Addaptor, Innovator, Adventure
Neanderthal
Homo neanderthalensis or Neanderthals existed for approximately 300,000 years and during the
Upper Paleolithic or Pleistocene epoch in Europe and western Asia (Smiley 2016: Unit 1). They
were short, muscular, and their face had a distinctive double brow ridge. They were built to handle
the colder weather due to the glacial era. But temperatures were on the rise, which would create an
issue with the Neanderthal physiology.
Neanderthals engaged in confrontational hunting, which is close up, and a very physical style of
hunting. They would have had to been strong, brave, and have to be very skilled at thrusting
spears. Archaeologists have found evidence of personal adornment: shells with holes which
indicates the use as jewelry, shells with hematite residue, pencils made of bone for body paint

Taking a Look at Same-Sex Marriage
Same sex marriage is against the law and against the moral standards of the religious society. In this
paper I will sympathize with the homosexual community in order to improve their views on
marriage. First amendment of the Constitution protects and makes homosexuality legal. Marriage is
also legal. Marriagelaws and the rights that fall under marriage are defined and upheld by the states.
Should same sex marriageremain illegal? Homosexuals believe rights guaranteed to married
heterosexual couples should not be denied to homosexual couples.
Marriage is a sacred bond protected by the Constitution of the United States. In the U.S. Supreme
Court case of 1974, Cleveland Board of Education v. LeFleur, the Court reaffirmed that freedom
of personal choice in matters of marriage and family life is one of the liberties protected by the
Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment (Robinson). Marriage is typically defined as
one man and one woman joining together in holy matrimony. Marriage is designed to be a
contractual show of one s love for another. Marriage is many things. For instance, marriage is a
relationship full of stressors, emotions, and passions. Marriage is also financial in that there are
bills to pay, insurances to maintain. Do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend? Do you have a husband
or wife? If the answer is yes, then do you suppose a gay man has a boyfriend; or a lesbian has a
girlfriend? The answer is obviously yes. Same sex couples are quickly becoming

Property Theft Report Example
On 11/10/2017, I was dispatched to 480 N. Rock Rd Belle Plaine, KS. for the report of battery
thefts out of multiple vehicles on the property. When I arrived I turned East off Rock Rd. and
drove down a long driveway that spans about 150 yards. As I was driving onto the property, I
noticed that when you turn onto the driveway you can not see the house from the road. The
driveway has vehicles parked on both sides and starts almost immediately when you pull in. The
house is a white single wide trailer that faces the West. I met with the homeowners who idnetified

was moved down to the end of the driveway to the west. Total loss of $200 USD for loose

Essay on The Other Side of Racism
The Other Side of Racism
When most people think of racism or supremacy, the images that come to their mind are white
power organizations that undermine blacks and other minorities. Groups such as the Knights of the
Ku Klux Klan, Skinheads and the White Nationalist Party may be some that come to mind.
However, many people are not aware of other racist organizations and powerful leaders that
influence people other than whites. A prime example of this is Louis Farrakahn, perhaps one of
world s premier black leaders, who condones racism against whites and people of different
religions. The image of an African American promoting racism among whites is not what society
understands as a typical form of racism. Despite this, Louis Farrakahn has ... Show more content on

Landfills In Jeremy Irons
The world may appear to be perfect from space, but, according to Jeremy Irons, the view is far
different on the surface. In Saida, Lebanon alone, what was once treasure on beaches has turned
to into trash. Since 1975, 8 tons of waste has been dumped on its beaches, creating a 20 meter
high trash mountain that spills methane into the city and the sea. However, this is not a
problem that is just present in certain places. The world throws away 200 billion plastic bottles,
58 billion throwaway cups, and billions of plastic bags in a single year. It is clear that trash is a
major problem for the entire world, and Irons focuses on the problems it causes and the many
ways that its problems are being taken care of during his Trashed documentary. Multiple cities
face issues surround the use of landfills around the planet. Yorkshire, England faces one of the
biggest problems with trash in Europe with the expansion of its landfill setting out to become
one of the tallest in the world. Beijing, China is almost out of space for trash even with the
presence of over 400 landfills, and 14 dumps in the state of New York have reached full capacity.
Paul Connett, a professor of Chemistry, says that the problem lies in the fact that the world keeps
putting things into the ground that will not break down. Instead of trash becoming a part of the
earth, we are left with cases like that in Gloucestershire, England, where 15,000 people live near a
landfill that allowed to dump 1,500 tons of

The Short term Memory Loss
Memento is a great, unforgettable movie. Events throughout the film unfold in a confusing and
complicated way. The movie starts from the end of the beginning, in a nonlinear narrative. At times,
the story seems backward: after the main character, Leonard, loses his memory, he can only
remember up to his wife s brutal murder; he can t create new memories. Based on the revolving
perspective of the main character, who has to trust pictures, notes, and tattoos, the viewer learns not
to trust anyone in the film. This information is the foundation of Leonard s short term memory. The
story is told in a lurching backward motion, each scene jumps back in time, and ends where the
previous one started; then, the next one begins. Memento is a unique crime thriller that makes the
viewer think deeply about the endlessness of revenge, by using the cinematic techniques of a
nonlinear narrative (1), repetition (2), and the use of mirrors (3).
We are hooked from the beginning of Memento because it opens with murder, which seems like it
would be the end; Leonard s narrative is nonlinear or disjointed throughout the film. He is regularly
taking Polaroid pictures of places he goes or people he meets has to write down notes on pictures,
take pictures and get tattoos to remember things like who met recently. The last thing Leonard

building materials like wood, vines and mud for their houses. Through increased trade, small
isolated Mayan villages grew into large cities. While the Apache used to live in wickiups, made of
wooden frames covered by a buffalo hide tarp, nowadays they live in modern houses and apartment
buildings. Traditionally, the Apache were hunters. The men hunted antelope, buffalo, and deer,
while the women collected fruits and nuts from their surroundings. These days, however their main
staple food consists of corn. The Europeans have different impact on the Maya and the Apache.
The Europeans did not have such a big effect on the Mayan civilization as they did on the Apache.
The Mayan civilization had already collapsed when Spanish conquerors arrived at the Americas in
the 1500s. In the late 1800s, the Apache engaged in warfare against the United States government.
Despite putting a strong resistance against the aggression to take over the Apache s land, the
Apache had to surrender in the end and were subjected to confined life in reservations.

Capabilities And Limitations Of Intelligence
Capabilities and Limitations of Intelligence
Homeland security works around the clock to provide safety for not just our country, but for the
entire world. Over the years there have been constant improvements to homeland security. The
capabilities of intelligence gathering have been bolstered by the numerous agencies at different
levels of our government, coordination between agencies, and even the very strategy used to
analyze the data.
Fusion centers were created to improve the efficiency of the state and local level of homeland
security. Fusion centers are owned and operated by state and local entities with support from federal
partners in the form of deployed personnel, training, technical assistance, exercise support, security
clearances, connectivity to federal systems, technology, and grant funding. (U.S. National
Intelligence, 2013, p. 20). This initiative is extremely beneficial, because the state level does not
always have the means to comb through data. Training also proves to be a costly burden the state
cannot always fund. At the national and international level, the country utilizes the National
Security Agency (NSA) and the Central Intelligence Agency(CIA). Fusion centers are been
extremely effective, because the intelligence gathered in this manner is much more relevant in
terms of locale. For example, if the FBI acquires some intelligence about New York City, it does
not do much good for California. If California focuses more on itself with the fusion

The Difference Between Egenarianism And Egalitarianism
Due to this topic s controversy in the evangelical church, I am very grateful to learn about these two
different views. The variation of the views even within the egalitarian and complementarian
perspectives was interesting. It reminded me that in ourselves alone unity cannot be found. Only in
Christ can we obtain unity displaying a countercultural attribute that reflects His light and hope for
this world. I am praying for our Great God s faithful help in this.
Egalitarian Perspective In learning about the egalitarian perspective from Linda L. Belleville and
Craig S. Keener, the bottom line difference between egalitarians and complementarians seems to be
the extent of which women can lead men. The egalitarian believes scripture supports mutual
ministry opportunity for both genders. Belleville states Egalitarian is to believe in the mutual
gifting of women and men . (35) Keener s four options of viewing women in ministry is also very
helpful. The fourth option is The Bible permits women s ministry under normal circumstances but
prohibits it in exceptional cases, in which case we should allow it under most circumstances today
(Gundry, Beck 206). The egalitarian view is not about who has authority over a congregation, but
by grace is given to believers through Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit, empowerment is given
both genders to minister to the congregation and equip the saints for ministry. Authority is given to
Jesus Christ. The command scripture gives to

Analysis Of Dancer By Alden Nowlan
Frequently in life, human beings go through obstacles that shape and reform who they are.
Achieving satisfaction in life is the way individuals evaluate their personal lives, directions and the
decisions they make in the future. Through the decisions that are made, individuals are altered and
reformed. While our decisions and situations take an effect they are rather led by a purpose.
Oftentimes, limitations and existence of self sacrifice are built on the ideas of self control and
altruism. Self sacrifice is known as the giving up of one s own interests or wishes in order to help
others or to advance a cause, which is shown excessively through the poem; Dancer, by Alden
Nowlan. The poem showcases to the readers that sometimes, limitations should be placed on
altruistic movements for the well being of an individual. Although, the question still remains; to
what extentis an individual willing to go when facing these situations?
Dancer by Alden Nowlan, is a poem that is constricted, but free. The poem creates a scenario of a
sport, which once delved in, is deconstructed on a deeper understanding. The poem is built through
the surroundings that are interpreted in the poem. The verbs of the stanzas provide the different
levels of emotions that the girl goes through. The poem begins at a rest the dusk of a new day, the
start of a new game. In the second stanza, the poem exceedingly warms up as the words pauses,
then rears, and throws are chosen; but in return,

Tomorrow, When The War
Tomorrow, When the War Began displays to us the kinds of changes people go through when
they are confronted with an improbable situation, and why those changes arise. It shows us how
one situation can affect each person differently. Homer is changed by the war, we first
understood him to be this immature and irresponsible prankster with no regard to the
consequences of his actions. Homer likes stirring trouble and doesn t care about what others say

casualties from both sides and a battle against Mehmed II. The conflict initially started with Vlad s

To What Extent Does Criminal Law Reflect the Moral and...
To what extent does criminal law reflect the moral and ethical standards of society?
Criminal law is a construct of the government, enforced through tangible measures. In a
democratic society, the government is elected by the citizens, and as such, laws are generally
conceived with the aim to reflect whatever ethical or moral standards are presently acceptable.
However, in order to be truly effective, some legislation must circumvent current sociological
viewpoints in order to create laws that are genuinely in the best interests of society. This results in
a delicate balancing act, as lawmakers attempt to weigh the views of the majority against the need
for laws to be both reasoned and objective.

The law and legal processes are utilised in various ways in order to provide a fair and just trial
process for the victim and the accused, as well as the general community. There are set standards
ensuring that the trial process is a fair one for all involved, as a functioning, fair and efficient
justice system is the cornerstone of any true democracy.
In most cases, one of the main objectives of courts and the sentences they impose is that of
rehabilitation. This is evidenced through a growing move in favour of a more holistic approach to
justice, trying to address the issues which may have led to the crime, rather than just punishing the
end result. One of the prime examples of this therapeutic approach to justice is the introduction of
the Drug Court. Governed by the Drug Court Act 1998, the Drug court has both Local court and
District court jurisdiction, and seeks to target the causes of drug related criminal behaviour. It
achieves this by ensuring that those who go through it receive treatment for their addictions,
thereby reducing their propensity to reoffend, as many crimes are motivated by the need to satisfy
addictions.

Things to Consider when Starting and Running a Business
There are many things to consider when starting and running a business. You must decide what
type of business you would like to operate, including the different business structures, legal forms
and permits that must be obtained, zoning laws, tax laws, and the liability you may expose yourself
to. If you have a business with employees, you may need to decide if you want to hire non union or
union members. You will also need to research the many banking and financial institutions as you
want to make sure your money is well protected. The different types of business structures include
sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations. These business structures also offer different
options within themselves. A business that is owned and managed by a single individual is a sole
proprietorship. There are three categories of a partnership general partnerships, limited partnerships,
and limited liability partnerships. A corporationcan be closely held or publicly held. Let us see
what the advantages and disadvantages are for these different business structures. The advantage
of being a sole proprietorship is that the person who owns it is able to make all the decisions on
his own; he doesn t need to consult with anyone. It is also easy to establish a sole proprietorship.
There are a small number of requirements that must be met and can vary from city to city and state
to state. Sole proprietors must meet the minimum requirements authorization, site permit and

Nazi Nationalism In Adolf Hitler And The Nazi Foreign Policy
Nazism was an ideology that became Germany s nationalism. This ideology and nationalism was
focused on making Germany a great nation once again. The main focus of this ideology was
based in the cleansing of the Aryan race. When Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany in
1933 laws were put into place that set up the process of eliminating those who did not belong. This
was known as the Nazi Foreign Policy. That same year Hitler took Germanyout of the Treaty of
Versailles. The main people group targeted because of the Nazi Foreign Policy was Jews along
with anyone who disagreed with the Nazi way. Despite these laws not being put into place until
the mid 1930s Jews were still harassed in the 1920s but now the mistreatment was legal. It was
not just legal but in fact encourage to report a suspect Jew or rebel to the SS. The Nazi Foreign
Policy became more about race then the rebuilding of Germany because it was thought that
Germany could only thrive with pure Aryan inhabitants. No one questioned the outlandish plans
and laws that came from Hitler s rule. He had done nothing but good things for Germany and was
a skilled spokesperson. Hitler became a dictator because a democracy was considered weak and the
things that happened would not have been able to take place within a government system of that
nature. German people were convinced that following these laws and adopting Nazismwas about
accepting and expressing their nationalism. They held parades and ceremonies and

American Pioneers Vs Pioneers
I recognise your claim in your speech and I have to say I disagree with you. I solemnly believe
that the statue should be put up because the pioneers had every right to come here. They were in
search for a better living because in Holland they were not able to raise children nor make a
living. It is very easy today to compare it too refugees that come to America to better their lives
also. Today we have people are coming to America to better their lives, just like the pioneers did.
This statue shows the American dream. It is tragic that there was a war that resulted in their
appearances but change is natural in life. Changes like the Soviet Union become Russia or even in
America the Union defeating the Confederates in which was a major step

The company was founded in 1940 by two brothers named Maurice and Richard McDonald (
McDonald s ). McDonald s currently has over 35,000 restaurants and serve over 68 million
customers a day on average ( History of ). The fast food giant makes 28 billion dollars annually,
and are the largest fast food chain in the world ( McDonald s ). That calculates to 75 million

( McDonald s Across the World ) History In 1937 Richard and Maurice s father decided to open a
food stand as a hobby ( History of ). Orange juice and hamburgers were sold below market price (
History of ) In fact, burgers were originally sold for only 15 cents (Gilbert, 8). After three years,
the two brothers realized that their father s business was actually very profitable. Richard and
Maurice decided to lease a building and open up a drive in restaurant, to make larger production
possible; they named it McDonald s Bar B Q and the soon to be fast food giant had begun (
History of ). The restaurant the brothers opened was a drive in, and was an instant hit. In 1948, the

The At The Charlotte Fine Art Gallery
Today started out like any other day. I had been working at the Charlotte Fine Art Gallery for
over 6 months now. Before my College Graduation I had worked for the Fine Art Gallery as an
Internship the previous summer when they asked me to consider a full time curator position
upon graduation. Debra Collin, owner, of the prestigious gallery wanted a fresh new eye for up
and coming artists locally and nationally. She was a tough, sophisticated North Carolina socialite
who had a passion for art but a stronger desire to control those around her. She sported short,
cropped, black hair, pale porcelain well maintained skin and every day she wore a new couture
black dress. Debra walked with a confidant and cool demeanor. Her reputation for demanding
perfection and deeply over critical nature preceded her. However, when the curator position was
presented to me, she assured me my creative eye and instinct for finding new raw talent with
innovative techniques would not be hindered. Debra would allow me full creative control. I was
thrilled at this prestigious opportunity and couldn t wait for Graduation. Flash forward to the day
several months later that would open my eyes to the reality that what people say and what they
actually mean are two entirely different things. Just because I had been offered a certain position
did not necessarily mean, I would actually be allowed to do my job without some complications
along the way. My role required that I find a fresh,

Young Man In A Grey Sweater Essay
Diego Rivera s Young Man in a Grey Sweater depicts the portrait of sculptor Jacques Lipchitz. The
piece was painted in 1914 in Paris, with oil on canvas. Present location is Museum of Modern Art,
New York.
This is rectangular piece, the size of 65.1 x 54.9 cm. Looking from a distance, painting has a
uniform color spectrum. Artist uses mostly warm earth tone palette: beige, grey, yellow and burnt
umber, with black for creating outline of the forms, and occasional multicolored patches for
additional accents. There is no visible source of light, however lighter areas of the painting are
focused in the center, while more contrast and darker areas tend to be around the middle section.
From a distance, brushstrokes look more unified, but when looking up closer, we can notice that
artist, while blending colors, uses distinctive strokes. So even blended, colors create some visual
texture. There is no noticeable degree of perspective or depth, painting looks rather flat.
Painting is done in cubist manner. The whole image is fragmented, with each fragment having a
geometrical shape. There are thick dark lines that divide each fragment one from another, so image
looks broken in pieces. The subject of the painting, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So how can it be distinguished among many other paintings inspired by the cubism movement?
Young Man in a Grey Sweater can t be defined as a pure analytical cubism. Though Rivera uses
typical palette of this kind of cubism, the elements are not translucent and intricate enough, there
are some texture and foreign colorful patterns. But it can t be an example of synthetic cubism
either, not enough construction, no perspective, image is still flat. Thus, Young Man in a Grey
Sweater is located somewhere in the middle of two types of cubism. Undefined, it doesn t loose its
beauty. It means that the painting can go beyond the established categories, and we can clearly read

ISOPOD BEHAVIOR LAB REPORT
Background Information:
In our lab we were working with isopods, also known as pill bugs or rollie pollies. The isopods
that we worked with were land isopods. They like to live in moist places under untouched
objects such as boards, bricks, rotting logs and or rocks. Basically, they will live anywhere! If
you are lucky enough, you can even find them next to buildings where it is moist and if there is
food. All living organisms like certain things and don t like certain things, for example; most
animals will try to eat something sugary or sweet, like a piece of candy. While the same animal my

At the beginning of our lab we had placed the pill bugs in the petri dish with dry filter paper and we
observed their behavior. The pill bugs were going around the inside rim of petri in circles
following each other, almost as if it were a game of tag. The pill bugs never seemed to stop
moving, flipping over and were constantly climbing. Some of the pill bugs even tried to escape
from the petri dish, but our group was quick to make that didn t happen. As our lab went on, we
placed the 4 different pieces of filter paper with solutions on them and then added 4 pill bugs to it.
We collected lots of information during this procedure.
This table represents how many pill bugs were on each slice of filter paper, that had a different
solution on each of them, over 30 second intervals lasting 5 minutes. This is what were recorded
our data on for this part of the lab.
Conclusions:
The purpose of our experiment was to observe the behavior of the pill bugs. We were trying to
find exactly whether the pill bugs would be attracted or repelled by the chemicals. The chemicals
used were vinegar, water, salt solution and a sugar

Louisa May Alcott in My Contraband Essay
Louisa May Alcott in My Contraband Louisa May Alcott is an American Novelist best known as
the author of the novel Little Women . Louisa was born in November 1982, grew up in
Germantown Washington D.C and was known to be an abolitionist, feminist and also a naturalist.
Being a naturalist meant that she believed that nothing existed beyond the natural earth i.e. no
such thing as spirituality or the supernatural. Her family suffered from financial difficulties and
so Alcott had to work to support her family in an early age. She penned the story My Contraband
(1869) which was formerly known as The Brothers (1863). Contraband was a black slave who
escaped to or was brought within union lines (Alcott 759). In My Contraband , Louisa... Show more

Half amazed; but I was satisfied, and said no more (Alcott 769). The sad thing is he took Lucy
away forcefully, but not because he loved her, he just wanted to be wicked to Robert. From
every indication he did not need her or love her, but all he was interested in was destroying
Robert s life. More to that, there is one last wicked act Marster Ned commits at the end of the
story: Robert s friend narrates to Miss Dane how Robert died, he said Marster Ned and Robert
went at each other at the war front and he saw Marster Ned get the sword straight through Robert
(Alcott 771). From the quotes above, one can deduce that Marster Ned was a forceful and brutal
beast. He did not care or have feelings for how the other party felt. This kind of treatment despite
being horrible and brutal, depicts the actual social treatment towards minorities. Apart from just the
antagonist s behaviors, there is much passion in the text. Another characteristic the author uses to
portray the racial discrimination during this era was Passion. The author uses passion to show that
despite the treatment towards Robert he was no less of a human. Passion was as evident
throughout our text as our narrator narrates both on her side and Robert s. From her words Feeling
decidedly more interest in the black man than in the white, I glanced furtively at him as I scattered
chloride of lime. I had seen much contraband, but

Education, Education And The Value Of Education
It is clear that colleges are starting to fall behind on teaching the basic principles that should come
with an education. It is shocking that my underlying fear of society not being taught enough to
survive in the real world is indeed true. With public education being degraded to only useless
common core principles, it is almost like society is purposely being dumbed down for the benefit
of the elite. These essays did, in fact, educate me on the valuable importance of the humanities
along with STEM educationas both are beneficial when joined together. I have learned that the
humanities are actually the key to creating a well informed, educated person with the ability to
think for themselves. I have always had questions regarding the structure of education and its
higher cost when I was younger, moreover, I will say that these six essays have answered the
questions I have always pondered. These essays were beneficial in convincing me of the value of an
education by answering my long awaited question about education, convincing me of why the
humanities are important alongside STEM based learning, and that our society is on the path to a
downfall if these problems involving the lack of the humanities are not solved soon. When I first
read these essays, I was regarding them with the mindset of another assignment I would be
compelled to complete as I was not taking them as seriously when I tried reading them with the
mindset of just trying to complete an assignment. However,

Virginia Woolf Death Of The Moth
The Death of the Moth by Virginia Woolf explains the life of a moth that is centered around a role
that represents life. The theme is the mystery of death and the correspondence of the life of the
moth with the true nature of life. Death is a difficult subject for anyone to speak of but it part of life.
The Death Process, the struggling and fighting against death. It is demonstrated that death was
inevitable, humans tend to fight against death and anything in the way of the power will fail
eventually. Moths are associated with death as a symbol. The character of the moth itself is a
metaphorical reference and also the representation of Woolf s mental illnesses. The moth s battle
with death can represent the struggle Woolf had with her illnesses, the ups and downs in her own
personal battles. The acceptance of death relates to the suicide of Woolf, after many successes and
failures, you can t always keep fighting. The moral is that regardless of what happens to someone,
life goes on and the world does not stop turning. The word death is repeated many times in the last
paragraph as it is trying to emphasize that nothing can win the battle against oncoming doom. ...

She chose to write strong and significant things on purpose, such as the scoring plough, the horses,
the ploughmen, the rooks etc. She aimed to foreshadow the contrast between the moth and outside
living beings. Compared to the world outside the window, the moth was pathetic and little or
nothing but life . However, compared to the oncoming doom , even the large and strong outside
world was fragile and insignificant, let alone the little moth. The world inside the window was
individual and different from the world outside. The moth flying around the window, from one
corner to another, or across them. Death crept and Woolf wanted to help it, but suddenly realized

  • 2. Designing Projects For The Public Joseph Wiley English IV Mrs. Daly 18 November, 2016 Designing Projects for the Public Thousands people all over the world share their ideas to create future projects and that project is in art and animation. It is really wise to start from the very beginning. The process of creating or even preparing for a big project takes time. In order to make a character or idea come to life one needs the right tools. This is where the skills in art come in, basically the fun part. Everyone would like to see their ideas come to life and sharing it with the public. Soon this will lead any person to create a project that involves gaming and animated television shows. Before starting a project there are a few things a person may need. A character may be the important thing but there are other factors that are far more important. What would the character do or what environment would it be placed in? The Developer also has to think about the storyboard which involves writing. Every project needs to start with a story (How a Game pg.1). A person can make up their own story and can also receive help from anyone assisting in the project. Everyone may be inspired by something they have seen which gives them many ideas for a good story. it is important for the team to come up with a decision so they can know what fits. Once it is decided the team will start to work on the storyboard (How a Game pg.2). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Emotion and Procedural Memory Do you remember how you learned how to ride a bike, read a book, or read a book? These and many more activities you are allowed to do are all cause of procedural memory. Procedural memory are the motor skills that you have developed from repeated times. These things, such as walking, talking, eating, start when you are born. You do these motor skills and actions so much that they become more of a habit and you do not notice that you are actually do them. People do not stop and say to their selves Remember to breath, in, then out or to walk, you put your right foot out first, then your left . That would make life a little more difficult than it already is. Humans and animals can learn with feedback. For example, when we start driving, we will learn the amount of pressure we have to put on the peddle for the car not to go to fast or too slow. Perceptual learningtraining with feedback is not formally different from that experienced by a rat required to choose between a triangle and circle, say, when one of these is followed by a given outcome (e.g., access to food) and one is not. Contemporary associative theories of animal discrimination learning (e.g., that proposed by Rescorla Wagner, 1972) provide an explanation of such learning (Mitchell Hall, 2014). Another habit we have as humans are is superstitious learning. Superstitious learning is actions performed even when there is no causal relationship between the action and its consequences (Eichenbaum, 2008). For ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. What Are The Similarities Between Debs And Schenck The critics of World War I, specifically Eugene V. Debs and Charles Schenck, were American. An American is a person of United States citizenship who upholds the values, ideas, and traditions upon which America was founded. Debs and Schenck believed that those who went to war were anti Americans. They themselves must be Americans if they oppose anti Americans. The Schenck Pamphlet states, war is an insult to every good and wholesome American tradition. He is up front on his belief in American tradition. He is arguing that those who encourage war are anti American. Eugene V. Debs sarcastically states in his speech, These... tyrants, red handed robbers and murders, [say they re] the patriots. Eugene opposes those who support World War I, his belief making them anti American. Inheritance Of Loss By Kiran Desai Inheritance of loss, is a moving novel by Indian writer Kiran Desai, whereby we see the effect of colonialism and post colonialism and the consequence that comes with it. Many critical themes are explored, Leach lists them as colonialism, a revolution, multi ethnic nationhood and illegal immigration in the US, where political allegiance impacts on love affairs, and where the reality of life in a grubby New York basement reshapes the American Dream (2007). Desai mentions many of these historical events in her novel that give us and insight view as to what was happening on the inside, within the people of India, as opposed to only seeing the surface and elections going on. • 8. Robert Frost sHome Burial, By Robert Frost Home Burial Robert Frost s poem Home Burial speaks of the tragedies in a couple s life. The theme of Home Burial is centered around the death of a child. During the time period in which this poem took place it seems that men did not show their feelings well. Home Burial demonstrates how one tragedy can cause another to occur. The couple in this poem has lost a baby to death. The mother is grieving and it seems she doesn t recover from this loss; parents who lose a child never forget, but most people do find ways to cope and move on in life. The baby is buried in the family burial site and can be seen from a window in the couple s home. Day after day she goes to the stairway window looking at the family plot. Looking at the place where her child s body is buried continues the sadness she feels. But, another emotion is contained in this wife and mother and that is anger and bitterness at her husband. At first, the reason for her anger seems unknown. The reasoning starts to show when it says she refused him any help, with the least stiffening of her neck and silence. (lines13 14) Their dialogue is cold. What is it what? /Just that I see. / You don t, she challenged. /Tell me what it is. (lines18 19). In the husband s first couple of lines and his last one, his attitude toward his wife seems insensitive. • 9. Tyranny Research Paper In this essay I will attempt to prove that a typical tyrant does not exist as each have their own ambitions. The issue with asking whether there is such thing as a typical tyrant arises from the fact that we must consider what the word tyrant actually means. The Oxford Classical Dictionary states, Tyranny was not a special form of constitution, or necessarily a reign of terror; the tyrantmight either rule directly or retain the existing political institutions but exercise a preponderant influence over their working, and his rule might be benevolent or malevolent. , clearly tyranny is not as simple as the modern connotation of a power hungry despot. In comparison, the Cambridge Dictionary Online defines tyranny as, government by a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Contrary to the modern view of a tyrant as a warlord, some were actually quite invested in the arts and in building projects. Herodotos records that the same bloodthirsty Periander also supported the poet Arion in his invention of the dithyramb . This suggests another facet to Periander s character (he is not just bloodthirsty, he is political too) which makes it harder to state that there is such a thing as a common tyrant. Pausanias (AD 110 c.180) comments on Theagenes fountain house at Megara which was, remarkable for its size, beauty and the number of pillars ; this show of euergetism and munificence would make a tyrant seem important, powerful and remind the people that he is their leader. Interestingly, the tyrant of Samos, Polykrates paid the poet Ibykos to glorify himself with the quotation, ...and you Polykrates will have undying renown which is a contribution to the arts and a means of building his own prestige. Thus we see that some tyrants follow a more political and shrewd concept of governance which actually comes into conflict with Plato and Aristotle s views that a tyrants rule is barbaric in nature as these same tyrants use wisdom to craft their personae. In conclusion, there is no such thing as a typical tyrant as ambitions vary between each tyrant. Thus, a leader such as Pittakos is defined by Aristotle as an aisymnetes which is an elected tyrant whose rule is tyrant like and non ancestral meaning that it is not inherited like the Kypselid tyranny. This illustrates the point that tyrant is just a label used to depict one man rule and therefore it is difficult to speak of a common tyrant as they each their own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Root Cause Of Gun Violence In Bowling For Columbine By... In the documentary Bowling for Columbine by Michael Moore, talks about the root cause of gun violence in the United States of America. The documentary shows how more than 11, 127 people die every year from guns whereas 381 in Germany, 255 in France, 165 in Canada, 68 in the United Kingdom, 65 in Australia, and 39 in Japan. Many say that violent movies, video games, and violent rock artists such as Marilyn Manson contribute to gun violence in America but violent movies are seen in France, violent video games are from Japan, and Marilyn Manson is heard in Germany. Also, guns in America are easy to obtain as in the documentary Moore got a free gun as he signed up for an account and only required to get a background check. However, fear is the root cause of America gun violence as people fear getting killed it leads to others getting killed. For example, in the documentary Moore shows that the media promotes fear in the American news program as they only focus on negative news such as violence and death such as in the news they state, Tonight in South Central, a drive by shooting . It makes people fear certain places such as going to South Central as they portray it to be a dangerous place to go to as the news shows all the negative things that happen there such as crimes which make people fear to go there. Where in Canada news are positive and focus on what is going around town. They are not talking about what can kill you or get you sick which is why they don t live in fear as they even leave their house unlocked and don t have loaded arms. Moore goes further on to ask a news reporter if he would go to a gun shooting before he went to a child near drowning and the reporter would rather go to a gun shooting. It is seen that people are more afraid of each other in America than in other countries. Americans are fearful of their own fellow Americans as Moore s illustrates a cartoon that portrays American history, of fearing each other as it shows when the pilgrims first arrived to America because they were scared but when they arrived they were greeted by savages so they killed them because they got scared and then they began to fear each other then they signed the 2nd amendment which stated that every white ... The word nigger has been used as a strongly negative term of contempt for a black person since at least the 18th century. Today it stays a standout amongst the most racially hostile words in the dialect. Nigger was first known as the word Neger from the Scottish and northern England language. The word nigger was known as NГЁgre from the French and Negro from Spanish. By the late 17th century, the word became known as Nigger. From the earliest usage it was known as the term that carries with it all the obloquy and contempt and rejection which whites have inflicted on blacks (Isaacs, 1965). As black inferiority was at one time a near universal assumption in English speaking lands, the word in some cases could be used without deliberate insult. The word was also used by English settlers to describe dark skinned native peoples in India, Australia, and Polynesia In African Americanculture today, the word Nigger is utilized lovingly, or a term of charm. • 17. The Battle Of Inter State War Bull defines war as organized violence carried on by political units against each other (184). With respect to this broad definition, both he and Waltz posit models of conflict which can effectively be used to analyze the sources of modern violence. The warrior scholars employ the theories of multiple political philosophers including Kant and Rousseau in order to build theories that encapsulate the complex variables which lead to armed engagement. These theories can be extrapolated in order to explain the causes of inter statewar, and to provide explanations of violence in the modern global theatre. Overall, Waltz s argument of the three images is extremely persuasive. The logical underpinnings of the models and the ways in which they collaborate are, for the most part, concrete and well thought out. His theory provides for three basic ideas through which the origins of all conflict can be distilled. First, Waltz (1959) provides that thinkers such as Spinoza place the responsibility of violence at the feet of human imperfection and lack of reason. Secondly, he postulates that domestic policy of a state will lead to conflict (Waltz 1959). Finally, the theorist channels Rousseau s The Social Contract to explain warfare as a symptom of international relations(Waltz 1959). The ways in which these three ideas correlate are what make Waltz s explanation so compelling. The first two of these images, the man and the state, explain how a country behaves internally. The ... Demian is an important character that displays Nietzschean qualities of the overman (Nietzsche 125). With his meeting with Sinclair, Demian put the seeds of doubt in Sinclair s mind about conception of truth and the will of power that are both concepts found in Nietzsche s work. Demian also resembles Nietzsche s character of Zarathustra and how he believes the importance of creating new set of values. The Upper Paleolithic Epoch started 40,000 years ago and goes on until about 12,000 years ago and glacial ice was on the move. Periods of extreame cold were cycled with warmer weather. The habitats of humans and animals was undergoing great and significant changes. Herds of wooly mammoth were moving about, hunter gathers were following. Through recent discoveries and expansions on old theories, prehistoric man began enjoying a renaissance. The Springfield Museum is proud to shed a new light on ancient man through our exhibit: Prehistoric Man: Addaptor, Innovator, Adventure Neanderthal Homo neanderthalensis or Neanderthals existed for approximately 300,000 years and during the Upper Paleolithic or Pleistocene epoch in Europe and western Asia (Smiley 2016: Unit 1). They were short, muscular, and their face had a distinctive double brow ridge. They were built to handle the colder weather due to the glacial era. But temperatures were on the rise, which would create an issue with the Neanderthal physiology. Neanderthals engaged in confrontational hunting, which is close up, and a very physical style of hunting. They would have had to been strong, brave, and have to be very skilled at thrusting spears. In Saida, Lebanon alone, what was once treasure on beaches has turned to into trash. Since 1975, 8 tons of waste has been dumped on its beaches, creating a 20 meter high trash mountain that spills methane into the city and the sea. However, this is not a problem that is just present in certain places. The world throws away 200 billion plastic bottles, 58 billion throwaway cups, and billions of plastic bags in a single year. It is clear that trash is a major problem for the entire world, and Irons focuses on the problems it causes and the many ways that its problems are being taken care of during his Trashed documentary. Multiple cities face issues surround the use of landfills around the planet. Yorkshire, England faces one of the biggest problems with trash in Europe with the expansion of its landfill setting out to become one of the tallest in the world. Beijing, China is almost out of space for trash even with the presence of over 400 landfills, and 14 dumps in the state of New York have reached full capacity. Paul Connett, a professor of Chemistry, says that the problem lies in the fact that the world keeps putting things into the ground that will not break down. Events throughout the film unfold in a confusing and complicated way. The movie starts from the end of the beginning, in a nonlinear narrative. At times, the story seems backward: after the main character, Leonard, loses his memory, he can only remember up to his wife s brutal murder; he can t create new memories. Based on the revolving perspective of the main character, who has to trust pictures, notes, and tattoos, the viewer learns not to trust anyone in the film. This information is the foundation of Leonard s short term memory. The story is told in a lurching backward motion, each scene jumps back in time, and ends where the previous one started; then, the next one begins. Memento is a unique crime thriller that makes the viewer think deeply about the endlessness of revenge, by using the cinematic techniques of a nonlinear narrative (1), repetition (2), and the use of mirrors (3). We are hooked from the beginning of Memento because it opens with murder, which seems like it would be the end; Leonard s narrative is nonlinear or disjointed throughout the film. He is regularly taking Polaroid pictures of places he goes or people he meets has to write down notes on pictures, take pictures and get tattoos to remember things like who met recently. Capabilities And Limitations Of Intelligence Capabilities and Limitations of Intelligence Homeland security works around the clock to provide safety for not just our country, but for the entire world. Over the years there have been constant improvements to homeland security. The capabilities of intelligence gathering have been bolstered by the numerous agencies at different levels of our government, coordination between agencies, and even the very strategy used to analyze the data. Fusion centers were created to improve the efficiency of the state and local level of homeland security. Fusion centers are owned and operated by state and local entities with support from federal partners in the form of deployed personnel, training, technical assistance, exercise support, security clearances, connectivity to federal systems, technology, and grant funding. (U.S. National Intelligence, 2013, p. 20). This initiative is extremely beneficial, because the state level does not always have the means to comb through data. Training also proves to be a costly burden the state cannot always fund. At the national and international level, the country utilizes the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Central Intelligence Agency(CIA). Fusion centers are been extremely effective, because the intelligence gathered in this manner is much more relevant in terms of locale. The variation of the views even within the egalitarian and complementarian perspectives was interesting. It reminded me that in ourselves alone unity cannot be found. Only in Christ can we obtain unity displaying a countercultural attribute that reflects His light and hope for this world. I am praying for our Great God s faithful help in this. Egalitarian Perspective In learning about the egalitarian perspective from Linda L. Belleville and Craig S. The egalitarian believes scripture supports mutual ministry opportunity for both genders. Belleville states Egalitarian is to believe in the mutual gifting of women and men . The fourth option is The Bible permits women s ministry under normal circumstances but prohibits it in exceptional cases, in which case we should allow it under most circumstances today (Gundry, Beck 206). Achieving satisfaction in life is the way individuals evaluate their personal lives, directions and the decisions they make in the future. Through the decisions that are made, individuals are altered and reformed. While our decisions and situations take an effect they are rather led by a purpose. Oftentimes, limitations and existence of self sacrifice are built on the ideas of self control and altruism. Self sacrifice is known as the giving up of one s own interests or wishes in order to help others or to advance a cause, which is shown excessively through the poem; Dancer, by Alden Nowlan. The poem showcases to the readers that sometimes, limitations should be placed on altruistic movements for the well being of an individual. Criminal law is a construct of the government, enforced through tangible measures. In a democratic society, the government is elected by the citizens, and as such, laws are generally conceived with the aim to reflect whatever ethical or moral standards are presently acceptable. However, in order to be truly effective, some legislation must circumvent current sociological viewpoints in order to create laws that are genuinely in the best interests of society. This ideology and nationalism was focused on making Germany a great nation once again. The main focus of this ideology was based in the cleansing of the Aryan race. When Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany in 1933 laws were put into place that set up the process of eliminating those who did not belong. This was known as the Nazi Foreign Policy. That same year Hitler took Germanyout of the Treaty of Versailles. The main people group targeted because of the Nazi Foreign Policy was Jews along with anyone who disagreed with the Nazi way. Despite these laws not being put into place until the mid 1930s Jews were still harassed in the 1920s but now the mistreatment was legal. It was not just legal but in fact encourage to report a suspect Jew or rebel to the SS. The Nazi Foreign Policy became more about race then the rebuilding of Germany because it was thought that Germany could only thrive with pure Aryan inhabitants. No one questioned the outlandish plans and laws that came from Hitler s rule. He had done nothing but good things for Germany and was a skilled spokesperson. Hitler became a dictator because a democracy was considered weak and the things that happened would not have been able to take place within a government system of that nature. German people were convinced that following these laws and adopting Nazismwas about accepting and expressing their nationalism. They held parades and ceremonies and ... It is very easy today to compare it too refugees that come to America to better their lives also. Today we have people are coming to America to better their lives, just like the pioneers did. • 47. The At The Charlotte Fine Art Gallery Today started out like any other day. I had been working at the Charlotte Fine Art Gallery for over 6 months now. Before my College Graduation I had worked for the Fine Art Gallery as an Internship the previous summer when they asked me to consider a full time curator position upon graduation. Debra Collin, owner, of the prestigious gallery wanted a fresh new eye for up and coming artists locally and nationally. She was a tough, sophisticated North Carolina socialite who had a passion for art but a stronger desire to control those around her. She sported short, cropped, black hair, pale porcelain well maintained skin and every day she wore a new couture black dress. Debra walked with a confidant and cool demeanor. Her reputation for demanding perfection and deeply over critical nature preceded her. However, when the curator position was presented to me, she assured me my creative eye and instinct for finding new raw talent with innovative techniques would not be hindered. Debra would allow me full creative control. I was thrilled at this prestigious opportunity and couldn t wait for Graduation. Flash forward to the day several months later that would open my eyes to the reality that what people say and what they actually mean are two entirely different things. Just because I had been offered a certain position did not necessarily mean, I would actually be allowed to do my job without some complications along the way. My role required that I find a fresh, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Young Man In A Grey Sweater Essay Diego Rivera s Young Man in a Grey Sweater depicts the portrait of sculptor Jacques Lipchitz. The piece was painted in 1914 in Paris, with oil on canvas. Present location is Museum of Modern Art, New York. This is rectangular piece, the size of 65.1 x 54.9 cm. Looking from a distance, painting has a uniform color spectrum. Artist uses mostly warm earth tone palette: beige, grey, yellow and burnt umber, with black for creating outline of the forms, and occasional multicolored patches for additional accents. There is no visible source of light, however lighter areas of the painting are focused in the center, while more contrast and darker areas tend to be around the middle section. From a distance, brushstrokes look more unified, but when looking up closer, we can notice that artist, while blending colors, uses distinctive strokes. So even blended, colors create some visual texture. There is no noticeable degree of perspective or depth, painting looks rather flat. Painting is done in cubist manner. The whole image is fragmented, with each fragment having a geometrical shape. There are thick dark lines that divide each fragment one from another, so image looks broken in pieces. The subject of the painting, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So how can it be distinguished among many other paintings inspired by the cubism movement? Young Man in a Grey Sweater can t be defined as a pure analytical cubism. Though Rivera uses typical palette of this kind of cubism, the elements are not translucent and intricate enough, there are some texture and foreign colorful patterns. But it can t be an example of synthetic cubism either, not enough construction, no perspective, image is still flat. Thus, Young Man in a Grey Sweater is located somewhere in the middle of two types of cubism. Undefined, it doesn t loose its beauty. It means that the painting can go beyond the established categories, and we can clearly read the author in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The sad thing is he took Lucy away forcefully, but not because he loved her, he just wanted to be wicked to Robert. From every indication he did not need her or love her, but all he was interested in was destroying Robert s life. More to that, there is one last wicked act Marster Ned commits at the end of the story: Robert s friend narrates to Miss Dane how Robert died, he said Marster Ned and Robert went at each other at the war front and he saw Marster Ned get the sword straight through Robert (Alcott 771). From the quotes above, one can deduce that Marster Ned was a forceful and brutal beast. He did not care or have feelings for how the other party felt. This kind of treatment despite being horrible and brutal, depicts the actual social treatment towards minorities. Apart from just the antagonist s behaviors, there is much passion in the text. Another characteristic the author uses to portray the racial discrimination during this era was Passion. The author uses passion to show that despite the treatment towards Robert he was no less of a human. Passion was as evident throughout our text as our narrator narrates both on her side and Robert s. It is shocking that my underlying fear of society not being taught enough to survive in the real world is indeed true. With public education being degraded to only useless common core principles, it is almost like society is purposely being dumbed down for the benefit of the elite. These essays did, in fact, educate me on the valuable importance of the humanities along with STEM educationas both are beneficial when joined together. I have learned that the humanities are actually the key to creating a well informed, educated person with the ability to think for themselves. I have always had questions regarding the structure of education and its higher cost when I was younger, moreover, I will say that these six essays have answered the questions I have always pondered. These essays were beneficial in convincing me of the value of an education by answering my long awaited question about education, convincing me of why the humanities are important alongside STEM based learning, and that our society is on the path to a downfall if these problems involving the lack of the humanities are not solved soon. The theme is the mystery of death and the correspondence of the life of the moth with the true nature of life. Death is a difficult subject for anyone to speak of but it part of life. The Death Process, the struggling and fighting against death. It is demonstrated that death was inevitable, humans tend to fight against death and anything in the way of the power will fail eventually. Moths are associated with death as a symbol. The character of the moth itself is a metaphorical reference and also the representation of Woolf s mental illnesses. The moth s battle with death can represent the struggle Woolf had with her illnesses, the ups and downs in her own personal battles. The acceptance of death relates to the suicide of Woolf, after many successes and failures, you can t always keep fighting. The moral is that regardless of what happens to someone, life goes on and the world does not stop turning.
