● 2007 - Dr. Anthony Atala claimed that a new type of stem cell
had been isolated in amniotic fluid.
Induced Pluripotent Stem cell
Yamanaka's group successfully transformed human
fibroblasts into iPSCs with the same four pivotal genes,
OCT4, SOX2, KLF4, and C-MYC, using a retroviral system.
Thomson and colleagues used a different set of factors,
OCT4, SOX2, NANOG, and LIN28, using a lentiviral system.

Jhonson et al. 2004-Nature
Germline Stem cell from Ovarian surface epithelium.
GSC is inducing Post natal neo folliculogenosis.
In 2005 from bone marrow and cord blood cell.
PGCs/oogonia or PGC-derived undifferentiated cells with GSC characteristics
remain in the postnatal and adult ovary and under certain conditions may
resume mitosis, enter meiosis and give rise to oocytes.
