1. Embryonic Stem Cells- are the type of stem cells
derived from embryos (4 to 5 days old). In particular, they
are located within an inner cell mass of the blastocyst.
2. Mature/Adult Stem Cells-
They can be found in various tissues
They serve to replace cells that die due to diseases or
injuries.
Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs) in the bone marrow
form the entire spectrum of blood cells
Mesenchymal Stem cells have been identified in bone
marrow and cord blood. They develop into a number of
specialized cells including chondrocytes, adipocytes, and
osteoblasts.

differentiate giving rise to neurons, astrocytes and
oligodendrocytes.
