The Americans surely refused when asked, by the parliament to revoke the circular letter passed by the
Massachusetts assembly. This created more unity among the colonies, which added to the Acts, were
one more justification for their rebellion.
The Coercive Acts, passed in 1774, were the biggest justification for the revolution. They were known
as the Intolerable Acts. The Acts closed the port of Boston, restructured the Massachusetts
government, allowed British officials to be tried in court in either Canada or Europe, and allowed
troops to be quartered wherever needed. The Americans felt that all these were violations of their
rights and that they had been forced to obey laws that violated their rights.
All the above decribed Acts and laws, were a justification for the revolution. However, they are not
valid causes for the rebellion. Considering that the main justification for the revolution was the
passing of the Coercive Acts, these Acts, were only passed because of the Boston Tea party. The
Americans might have said that they were full of all the taxes, and that Englang went too far with the
Tea Act. However Most of the taxes the Americans paid, were much lower than the taxes the Britsh
paid over the same goods.
Ultimately, the colonists were justified in their rebellion against England. However they did not have
an adequate cause for revolution.

reviewed the April 1, 2014 City Council Meeting which is available to the public on line. The
beginning of the meeting started with a call of order then proceeded to the roll call of the board
members. After these steps had taken place an invocation was performed followed by the Pledge of

I will admit I am guilty of this. Many people will not admit to this. Many will just assume things and

Humans do some amazing things. The leading force behind our success is innovation. Science s many
advantages make life easier but also include drawbacks. The technology to solve many problems
exists, but our ability to create a solution does not necessarily mean we should. Most problems of
these problems can be fixed, but what is the cost? World hunger is an issue that many people wish
they could solve. It seemed impossible in the past, but modern technology has provided a possible
solution. Given the chance, would you put an end to hunger in this world? Most people would answer
yes but still wonder how this is possible. Genetically modified organisms (GMO) may be a viable
option. These foods are bigger and quickly produced. They have a higher resistance to insect attacks
and can grow in desolate terrains. They appear to be the solution to one of society s biggest problems,
but the side effects are huge. These poorly understood frankenfoods cause numerous symptoms, but
they are still sold to the public. While GMOs appear beneficial, they have ill effects and must be

The gothic genre has been a prominent literary style throughout many eras, a popular example being
The Castle of Otranto . I have studied three texts; Emile Bronte s novel Wuthering Heights , published
in December 1847, The Selected Poems of John Keats , published in 1817 and the later The Bloody
Chamber by Angela Carter, published in 1979. They all use gothic elements in different ways to create
a variety of effects and reflect on their own personal views, Carter in particular as a post modern
writer and Keats confusion of sexuality.
The three texts I have studied all conform to the gothic genre in similar ways such as, the use of
setting (use Gothic conventions to develop setting). For example in The Eve of St Agnes the primary
setting is a medieval castle which is portrayed as being sinister and isolated, Keats describes a lowly
arched way , the adjective lowly suggests the insignificance and unimportance of the castle. The
cobwebs could further highlight the fact that the castle is old and has remained uninhabited for a
number of years suggesting an ominous presence. In addition to this, it could also suggest the
prescence of insects and spiders within the castle connoting danger and eeriness creating a spine
chilling atmosphere. Keats further makes use of the gothic setting within Madeline s bedroom
