Physician Chart Completion Analysis
Physician Chart Completion
I worked with Luis Ortiz in the Physician Chart Completion area for the first half of my second
day. Luis was very welcoming even though Wednesdays are a challenge for him. Every
Wednesday he gets a list of deficient charts ready for the director of HIM, analysis staff and the
resident coordinator. Luis asked me to take a seat for a few minutes while he gathered his report.
This was perfect for me, it gave me a chance to work on my hospital profile work and I prepared
my questions for him during this time. Once he was ready for me, he opened Care Connection to
show me the list of discharges he needed to work on. He opened random discharge summaries to

Masonic has sent home all of their inpatient coders and all that are left in the house are a medical

coding software. Mr. Bodunde first gave me an indebt explanation of what his duties and
responsibilities are and the expectation management has for production. Once introductions
were complete, he proceeded to code. Mr. Bodunde is an outpatient coder who codes Emergency
Room charts as well as Obstetrics/Gynecology. He coded a few charts to show me how to use
3M to code and let me take over. I have to say the basics that were instilled in me in coding class
came in handy for this experience. I was able to capture clinical data from the patient charts with
80% accuracy with his guidance. Once I gained momentum I was able to move quicker through
the charts. We started with the Obstetrics charts and worked our way to the ER charts. The ER
charts were a bit more complex since more clinical data needed to be captured to tell the story. I
had Mr. Bodunde code a handful charts with the ER charts before I took

A Life Without Mathematics
Could you imagine a life without mathematics? Although many would say that it would be a dream
come true life as we know it would not have been the same. Without mathematics our society would
have not evolved as much with technology and many other discoveries as we have today.
Mathematics is a theory that developed overtime and that it has been made from many contributors
who have discover many different types of branches that go under mathematics. For example, some
of the concepts in mathematics are algebra, calculus, geometry, trigonometry as well as many
others. According to the dictionary Merriam Webster the definition of Mathematics is the science
of numbers and their operations interrelations, combinations, generalizations, and abstractions and
of space configurations and their structure, measurement, transformations, and generalizations.
Society has created mathematics the building block for everything in our daily activities. Math is
involved from little to the food that we consume to the way we communicate with one another.
Math is very important despite that many believe that their daily activities do not require any of the
formulas or equations thought to them, they are completely wrong. Since math has been around for
thousands of years now there is no evidence of who was the first person who use it or who
discovered mathematics. It is to be said that early mathematics started with counting, when
humanity first started to keep records of objects and that s

Three Dimensional Printing Essay
More Types of Three dimensional Printing Processes
Larry Hornbeck created digital light processing in 1987. Hornbeck invented the digital micro
mirror device, first used for cinema projectors. This micro mirror device can be used for digital
light processing, which uses arc lamps to harden a liquid plastic resin. Digital light processing is
a low cost method and reduces waste. Selective laser melting uses a high power laser beam to
fuse and melt metallic powders. The laser fully melts the powder into a solid 3D object. Selective
laser melting uses software to cut the object into 2D layers for printing. This 3D printing method is
used in the aerospace manufacturing and medical orthopedics industries. Electronic beam melting

The University of California s Engineering department is testing technology related to 3D printing
houses, and exploring the possibility of electrical and plumbing work being printed too. This would
allow houses to be built in twenty hours. This could solve housing issues globally.
Seventeen million children around the world suffer from malnutrition. What if we could print a
balanced meal? To end world hunger, we need to be capable of manufacturing cheap but nutritious
food. In 2013, NASA gave a grant to a Texas engineering firm to create the world s first food 3D
printer. The models built can use chocolate or infused sugar to print. With more research and
development, this technology could one day save malnourished children around the world.
Lack of clean drinking water and sanitation measures for the disposal of waste are also big issues,
especially in developing countries. The University of Washington and charity Water for Humans are
partnering to create toilets and rainwater collection devices using three dimensional printing. Once
established, they plan to try this technology in Oaxaca, Mexico.
To help protect teak trees used to build boats in West Africa, waste plastic can be used to 3D print

they are needed. The ability to 3D print simple medical supplies could benefit areas where medical

On the 19th December the patient was transferred from Daisy Hill Hospital to a specialist
Neurosurgical unit in the Royal Victoria Hospital. On admission to the neurosurgical unit the
Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) was 14/15 and she had no neurological deficits with the nerve, spinal
cord, or brain function, although she was still complaining of neck stiffness and pain in head.
Although the CT scans showed no evidence of subarachnoid haemorrhage, due to her very strong
history the patient was referred for further imaging through angiogram techniques. This included
use of catheters inserted under the skin to provide a contrast material which was detected through
the use of magnetic resonance imaging scans (M.R.I). The results for these again showed no

The ophthalmic artery connects to the circulatory anastomosis in the brain known as the Circle of
Willis. One of its branches known as the retinal artery runs behind the optic nerve of the eyeball.
The resultant compression of this artery as a result of the build up of pressure caused by the onset
of the headache and the dysplastic cells could have contributed to the patient s initial symptoms of
blurred vision and photophobia. This is a common symptom experienced by patients who develop
aneurysms in this region of the artery [15]. After careful discussion of these findings, the location
of the aneurysm, the current results and strong history, it was decided that the saccular aneurysm

Defining Macbeth in William Shakespeare s Play Essay
Defining Macbeth in William Shakespeare s Play
The character of Macbeth is a classic example of a Shakespearean tragic hero. There are many
factors, which contribute to the degeneration of Macbeth of which three will be discussed. The
three points, which contribute greatly to Macbeth s degeneration, are the prophecies, which were
told to him by the witches, Lady Macbeth s influence and manipulation of Macbeth s judgment, and
finally Macbeth s long time ambition which drove his desire to be king. Under these influences
Macbeth s character degenerates from a noble, brave, loyal man to violent, murdering, tyrant
individual.
The prophecies, told by the witches, were one of the factors, which ... Show more content on

Lady Macbeth tells her husband,
When Duncan is asleep, his two chamberlains
Will I with wine and wassail, so convince ,
When in swinish sleep
Their drenched natures lie, as in a death,
What cannot you and I perform upon
The unguarded Duncan?
Macbeth is in struggle with his conscience but is goaded by Lady Macbeth to proceed with the
murder when she questions his manhood. Macbeth s image of himself forces him to reply,
I dare do all that may become a man;
Who dares do more, is none
As soon as Macbeth has performed the treasonous deed he immediately regrets his wrongdoing. At
this point of the play the audience can note the change in Macbeth s character. Macbeth s first
murder was a trying experience for him, however after the first murder; killing seemed to be the
only solution to maintain his reign of the people of Scotland. Therefore, it was Lady Macbeth who
introduced the concept of murder to Macbeth as the shortest way to obtain the crown that was
prophesied by the witches.
Macbeth s ambition also influenced his journey form hero to villain. However, Macbeth s ambition
had not been strong enough for him to kill the King. He declares,
I have no spur

It is this realisation that sowed the seeds of collective bargaining which later resulted in trade
unionism. The workers, working under a common employer, faced common problems and common
tasks. They developed common sentiments, and organised themselves into associations which
could meet the employers on a basis of equality. The inchoate labour organisations had to cross
many hurdles before they could develop into fullfledged stable trade unions. There were internal
dissentions, persistent and determined opposition from the employers, merciless persecution and
suppression by the state (For example, in England, France, Germany and the United States,
combinations of workmen per se were declared illegal), and the full throated condemnation of trade
unionism by the advocates of free competition and laissez faire. In spite of these efforts at
suppression, trade unions continued to grow, sometimes working underground and sometimes
openly. They continued to defy the laws prohibiting the combination of workmen (Combination
Acts of 1799 and 1800 in Great Britain, for example) and the judicial pronouncements (particularly,
the judgement in the Philadelphia Cordwainers Case of 1806 in the United States) against the
combinations of workmen. Under incessant pressures from the workers and their organisations, the
law and the attitude of the courts gradually came to be modified. The history of the trade union
movement everywhere is a history of blood,

John F Kennedy Inaugural Address Summary
John F. Kennedy s Inaugural address
John F. Kennedy s Inaugural address. January 20, 1961. This document was written and presented
during a time that East and West Berlin became East and West Berlin separated by the Berlin wall,a
time when Freedom writers challenged segregation, and when the Soviets had their first man to fly
in space. John F. Kennedy was just to be inagurated as the 35th president of the United States of
America.
This document clearly states of all Kennedy desired to achieve for the United States. He makes the
citizens trust him by making them recognize that they must come together in order to achieve great
things. He believes that united there is little we cannot do because divided there is little we can do.

They could ve chosen him for great looks, or what not but for sure he had good ideas and good
proposals that offered America a peaceful presidency to come. He made us reflect that if he could
be humble enough to help one another that we can later on be humble enough to extend the hand
to those other countries who need it as well. His idea of ending communism and democracy was
brilliant as in the view of needing to come together as one and working always as one not as
America separate.
Learn to never expect something in return that only God can judge our good work. Let this teach
us to not be greedy of what we may already hold that what we have is enough. This was the start
of a new America for some citizens that had seen the worst of it all around the globe. But surely
gave a good America vision to those that were just visualizing a good life ahead.
John F. Kennedy s inaugural address was a good document to reflect on for peace and kindness.
This speech was a good example of a good presidency to take upon a new beginning. This was just
an eye opener to society, what we needed, what we wanted .. words of great comfort is all he
gave us and actions of good heart is what he gave us after. His views in this speech on a better

How Did The British Invasion Influence American Culture
The British Invasion was a phenomenon that began in the 1960 s and has somehow kept itself alive
even to this day. Americans have been bombarded with British culture for years, and rather than
shun the differences, they have accepted them into their lives. Music, television, and literature in
America have all been changed due to British influence. In many different ways, the British
Invasion has greatly affected American culture. The early British invasion was an amazing time for
music. The American music culture blossomed and grew, leaving even today s public infatuated.

When it comes to most people, one band in particular pops into mind. For some, maybe it is The
Who, singing My Generation. However, more often than not, it is The Beatles who stand above the
rest. The Beatles are credited for being the main cause of the British invasion. They tried for
many years to gain the support and recognition of the American public, but to no avail. In 1963,
The Beatles released a single, trying to get onto the American charts, but it ended up only gaining
popularity in England.(Gilmore, Mikal) But on November 22, 1963, the unthinkable happens, and
president John F. Kennedy was shot and killed. After seeing how heartbroken the American public
was, the Beatles swooped, seeming to be the perfect antidote to their broken hearts. The beatles
released another song, I Want to Hold Your Hand, which quickly made it to number 1 on Billboard
Hot 100 . At one point in their careers, the band held down all top 5 positions on the national
singles chart. They could not last forever though, and on September 1969, John Lennon privately
announced that he would be leaving the group. The public did not know about the break up until
April 10, 1970, when Paul McCartney announced that he too was leaving the band. Though the
Beatles were gone, many amazing British artists have since followed in their footsteps. One

However, it is recognized that there is still a lot of ill health that is related to diseases of poverty
and ignorance. Of the six WHO regions in the world, the African Region bears the heaviest burden
of disease (WHO, 2000). Effective and efficient implementation of national and local policies can
reverse this trend. Indeed, the world press (2008) opined that a critical challenge for countries in
Africa is to move from policy to action in the health service delivery. This move from policy to
action should be grounded on each country addressing its priority health needs and mobilizing its
people to improve the state of health service delivery at personal and community levels.
According to a World Bank report, Sri Lanka has achieved a remarkable health service delivery as a
result of devolution (World Bank 2010). This has been attributed to successful implementation of a
credible budget constraint for the hospital; reform to strengthen the accountability of managers for
the performance of the hospital through the creation of a board of external directors or trustees, or a
hospital authority to supervise the manager; and increased managerial authority with freedom to
recruit, promote, set tasks and work hours, and decide on performance rewards and sanctions.
Further, Sub Saharan Africa countries, in translating existing policies into national plans of action,

My Original Definition Of Social Media Essay
1.My original definition for antisemitism was: antisemitism is the conscience or unconscious
hatred of a Jew or Jews, because of certain characteristics that the hater believes the Jew or all Jews
possess by being Jewish. However, one thing that my original definition does not hint towards the
wide spectrum of behaviors that are antisemitic. This is an advantage that your definition has. Your
definition mentions a spectrum form mildest expressions to exterminatory activities. Your
definition goes on to list different examples of antisemitic behavior. One category of behavior is
not mentioned though, and that is the use of social media to do such things as cyber bullying. We
talked some during the course about social media, especially at the end of the course when we
discussed the six parentheses symbol. Perhaps a better definition of antisemitismcould come about
by combining our two definitions and making mention of social media. The new definition could
be: antisemitism is defined as the conscience or unconscious hatred of Jewsor Judaismfrom its
mildest expressions to exterminatory activates. The activists include making jokes, cyberbullying,
the destruction of religious objects, defacing synagogues, and murdering Jewish people. This new
definition considers actions despite weather or not the hater is aware of them. For example, a
person could have always been told that Jews are greedy. This guy goes around telling jokes about
Jews being greedy. He is engaging in

The Descent Grade a
The film the descent uses a range of shots, sound, editing and symbolisation to create an ominous
atmosphere; in effect this makes the horror aspect in the film really stand out as it leaves the
viewer deciding what happens in specific parts of the film, which all ties in with the films ending.
This all makes the film very subjective and leaves much of the opening scenes open to
interpretation which is very enticing for a horror movie.
The films opening sequence contains many things which symbolise the events in the movie and
starts to define what genre the movie is, because the music is fairly ambient and deep suggesting
danger which implies it s a horror or a thriller movie. When the opening credits appear light effects

Also in the final scene Sarah leaves Juno for dead to get revenge on what she did to Beth which
also shows how what they are wearing indicates the loyalty aspect of their relationship. This
subtle costume difference is very clever because even at the very start of the film characters are
already being divided and given a specific role in the film to play.
Throughout the whole boating scene there are many different shots, edits, sounds and effects
which make the whole scene upbeat and adventurous. A shot type which does this is the aerial
(bird s eye) view which in effect presents the tight squeezes in the waterfalls and the sheer size of
the waterfall that they in. Also the edits in this scene are very fast keeping everything upbeat
and to show how Sarah, Beth and Juno would be seeing things. These edits are also giving a
very clear representation of white water rafting as a sport on a whole and that it is generally a
very courageous, brave, adventurous thing to do. Through out the scene we see several shots of
the little girl as if its Sarah s point of view and she is looking at her keeping most of her attention
on her showing that Sarah and her have a very strong emotional bond and yet again that the film is
going to be a very female orientated film. There is one effect which is used in the

Alligators are a ferocious predator. Alligators are carnivorous reptileswhose primary feeding time is
usually at night. Small alligators will eat snails, frogs, insects, and small fish. Larger gators will eat
birds, fish, turtles, snakes, waterfowls, small mammals, and even smaller alligators.
The American alligator population is continued to diminish today. They are mainly threatened
in the state of Florida. Loss, fragmentation, and degradation of forests have been a major factors
in the decline of the alligator population in this century, with illegal killing playing an
increasingly damaging role as alligators have become more vulnerable: no refugees remain safe
from human penetration. Habitat loss remains a great danger, particularly in state of Florida. A

but also all of the meat of the gator is edible, and sold in restaurants all throughout Florida. The
price for the raw meat is only about $5 $7 per pound. Poaching of alligator for sports and collection

Access to birth control and other contraceptives is almost as hotly debated as abortion, when it
comes to women s healthcare and rights over their own bodies. In the article Birth Control Should
Be Considered a Human Right , is about how denying a women birth control is essentially denying
about half the population of the world a choice in what they want to do with their bodies. There are
roughly 80 million women who have unplanned/unintended pregnancies and 68,000 women die
from botched back alley abortions each year . Logic would follow that if those women had access

The Effect Of Soil On The Soil Formation Of Soil
The soil is a complex mixture of minerals, water, air, organisms and organic matter that are
decaying remains of once living things. The soil is vital in supporting plant life and all forms life.
The soil is not consistent throughout the world because of the way that it is formed and
environmental factors that vary through the process of soilformation.
The factors that play the most important role in the formation of soil are climate, organisms, relief,
parent material and time. These factors form the acronym CLORPT that is used to describe the
processes. Climate includes factors such as temperature and moisture; they are important in
determining the speed of weathering and the decay rate of the organic material. Organisms include
animals that burrow through the soil that affects the permeability and amount of air in the soil.
Other organisms in the soil are bacteria that affect the rate of decay of organic matter. Relief is the
direction and slope of the surface. This factor determines the amount of sunlight and how much
water is kept in the soil. Parent Material influences the chemical characteristics of the soil. For
example, a soil formed from limestone will have higher calcium concentration than soils that are
formed from a parent material with lower calcium than limestone. Time affects soil by how much
time it had to develop. Older soil will be different than younger soil because it has had more time
to breakdown parent material and decay organic matter. CLORPT

My field placement will be at Child protective services in El Paso TX. My Target population for
my field placement will be Children who have been maltreated, neglected and abused. Child abuse
prevention has grown exponentially in El Paso over the past 31 years. In El Paso alone the
Texas Department of Family and Protective Services investigated 4,979 reports of alleged child
abuse in 2014 in El Paso County. They confirmed that 1,339 children were indeed victims of
abuse; 379 confirmed cases of Physical abuse, 166 confirmed cases of sexual abuse, 56 cases of
emotional abuse and 70 cases of medical neglect (Lee Beulah Moor,2016) A troubling trend has
emerged regarding the prevention of child maltreatment in the state of Texas. A tragic loophole
contributing to continued abuse and in many cases child fatalities, continues to be exploited to
the detriment of one of our most vulnerable populations. From 2009 to 2014, there were 800
child fatalities reported as abuse and neglect deaths by Child Protective Services in all of Texas
(Ball, 2015). An analysis of these cases by an independent research group found gross errors by
CPS and other agencies during ongoing abuse cases enabled the abuse or neglect to continue,
inevitably leading to death. Although the percentage of child fatalities is just a tiny fraction of the

A Study On The Origin Of The Kikuyu
Location:
While the Kikuyu can be found throughout Kenya, the heaviest concentration being in Central
Province, known as the traditional Kikuyu homeland. They traditionally identify their land as
bounded by these mountains or ranges: Mt. Kenya (which they call Kirinyaga the shining
mountain), Ol Donyo Sapuk, the Ngong Hills and the Aberdare (Nyandarua) Range. Many Kikuyus
also live in Uganda and Tanzania, some having risen to national leadership.
History:
The Kikuyu traditionally believe that a man, Gikuyu, was the founder of the tribe. He had a wife
named Mumbi, who gave birth to nine (plus one) daughters. The daughters married and had their
own families, retaining a domineering role in Kikuyu society.
This has led to the current division of the Kikuyu into nine (plus one) family groupings. According
to legend, the men grew tired of their treatment by the women and rebelled. This legend seems to
represent a change in history from matriarchal to patriarchal organization, which also occurred with
other Bantu peoples.
Ancestors of the Kikuyu arrived in Kenya during the Bantu migrations of 1200 1600 AD. The
Kikuyu developed from several continuous waves of migration and remigration within the area.
The Kikuyu as such actually came to be by around 1800, and include some families from all the
surrounding peoples.
One genetic line contributing to the Kikuyu is the Thagicu, thought to be the earliest Bantu settlers
in the area, perhaps around 1200 AD. The Kamba also

Vegan Restaurant Observation
Currently, there are several Vegan restaurants near me with great food. However, once you are
finish eating you must go to another location if you would like to listen to live music. Last week
for example, me and my best friend planned to hangout on Saturday for dinner and dancing. We
decided to check out the new Vegan restaurant called Vegan Basket downtown Atlanta. The staff
was great and the foodwas even better, but we had to find another location for dancing. The next
day, I have a great thought of opening a Vegan restaurant where everyone can come and enjoy
great food and live entertainment. A couple of weeks later I ran the idea pass my best friend and
she agreed to be my business partner.

Loyalty In William Faulkner s Barn Burning
Internal Conflict: Loyalty or Morals Loyalty is a powerful force. Oftentimes it blindsides us and
causes us to support things we would not normally. Even do things that we despise. William
Faulkner s Barn Burning illustrates just such a case. Presenting a young boy s progression from a
loyal child, to an independent man as a conflict of loyalty and morals. This boy, Sarty, battles his
own forming morals versus his father s decisions, which leads to his development from child to
adult. Faulkner writes his characters progression in five stages: blind loyalty, repressed
disagreements, open questioning, and attempted reasoning with his father, before finally taking
action to contradict his father. This first step in Sarty s change is shown at the very start of Barn
Burning. His father, Abner Snopes, is on trial accused of burning a barn. The trial is told from the
perspective of Abner s son, Sarty. As he observes the trial Sarty mentally calls the accuser his
father s enemy (par. 1). Although Sarty immediately corrects himself and reclassifies the accuser
as both his and Snopes enemy, Sarty s estrangement from his father s ideals first starts here.
Because of his disgust with himself, I can only assume that before Sarty has blindly followed his
father. Consequently, Sarty still fights to maintain this loyalty. As displayed when Sarty is asked to
testify. Knowing that his father would want him to lie, Sarty is filled with frantic grief and despair
(par. 1). He mentally

The Mind Is An Amazing Place
The mind is an amazing place. It s incredibly adaptable and incredibly complex. The study of
psychology aims to help us understand the the complexity of the brain. To help understand the
behavior and mind and to assist in embracing all aspects of conscious and unconscious experience.
And while we aim to categorize and understand all aspects of the mind, it seems that we end up
highlight complex, fascinating and uniquely different each individual s mind works. One of the
unique ways we ve categorized the way our brainprocesses information is through senses. We ll
take a look at each sensein the coming paragraphs.
The ability to detect and interpret the events that are occurring around us allows us to respond to
these stimuli appropriately (Gibson Pick, 2000). The human brain has a large capacity to interpret
information through sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. One of the examples in chapter 4 of
our book talks about our capacities for sense is like a kaleidoscope. In in a perfect scenario all
senses work together in a beautiful medley.
Take the following excerpt for example:
In many ways our senses are quite remarkable. The human eye can detect the equivalent of a single
candle flame burning 30 miles away and can distinguish among more than 300,000 different colors.
The human ear can detect sounds as low as 20 hertz (vibrations per second) and as high as 20,000
hertz, and it can hear the tick of a clock about 20 feet away in a quiet room. We can taste a

The Rudd Government
Recent Commonwealth Parliaments have confirmed that the ability of governments to implement
their mandates is more a function of the will of the Parliament than the will of the people.
In recent years, the ability for governments to implement their mandates has shifted from being a
function of the people s will to that of parliament s. A mandate is the authority provided by voters
to a successful political party to pursue its policies in parliament. Governments can justify their
dominance of the lower house by arguing the will of the people is expressed through elections. The
government s electoral victory produces a majoritarian mandate, and gives them the right to
implement their policies. In recent years, minor parties who hold the ... Show more content on

Firstly, a government s claim to a majoritarian mandate can reduce Australian politics to an
electoral democracy. The opposition might be able to criticise government policy but according
to this theory they have no right to amend, block or delay government legislation. This reduces
the role of members of parliament, pressure groups and the media to simply channel public
opinion. Broader participation in the political process is limited by the government s claim to an
all powerful mandate. Furthermore, in recent parliaments, the will of the government has been
frustrated by the parliament. However, it is because of this fact it can be argued parliament
produces better legislation due to poor legislation being blocked. Australia s two party dominance,
reflecting the majority of people s will in the lower house has been proven effective and the Senate
that is designed to act as the house of review is an effective check on the people s will. Despite this,
the review function of the senate is becoming increasingly a reflection of the will of the parliament
and this is contributing to parliament becoming dysfunctional. The Turnbull government hopes to
resolve this through a double dissolution later this

Analysis Of The Article The Life Of East St Louis ...
The article Life in Mississippi: East St Louis, Illinois is one that is not taken lightly. The article
shows one the injustice that African Americans face in the city of St. Louis. The article all
together is shocking and heartbreaking. To know that in a country that is suppose to be one of the
greatest, if not the greatest, there still is so much injustice is not only eye opening but also
upsetting. One of the 2 most heartbreaking parts for me was when Kozol describes the old men
leaning on his cane listening to Jesse Jackson and crying. This is something so powerful to me
because this is someone who has experience all of the hardships that east St. Louishas to offer and
he has to live knowing that not much has change and maybe Jesse Jackson was the only one
promising the change they deserve. The last scene was when one of the students goes up to
Kozol after class and tell him that what Dr. King did was nothing because they are still living in
such horrible situations. For a teenage kid to think and feel that way, they must have had to
suffer through so much, which is exactly what the article is able to show us, the injustice that
these kids face on a daily basis. Having read this is shocking to one because we live in a different
area where we aren t prone to see such things and because we have grown up and taught to believe
that racism and poverty is almost non existing because this is American a country that doesn t fail
the people.

Controversial Issues In America
Today in America there are many huge controversial issues such as gun control, legalization of
marijuana, pro life or pro choice and so much more. These arguments are well known and a lot of
people make a stance in what they think on the situation. The article in the New York Times,
Abortion and Punishment by Katha Pollitt speaks about a comment Donald Trump has made and
gives her opinion on the role abortionhas in America in the past and present time. Therefore,
women do not have many rights when it comes to abortion even though it is legalized but some
states may try to shut down clinics. Also, it has always been a risky topic in the United States

a pregnancy is called to be killing a child, so should it be considered as murder then? Basically
where women would be imprisoned for a crime, they have committed. Creating prisons to be
populated with females where in a political point of view looks to be an outrageous act to

the child. Stating that an unplanned pregnancy while in school, having too many kids, health
issues or being in a inadequate relationship where the woman is trying to terminate the pregnancy
is a choice she does not know what is best. Moreover, Pollitt uses evidence of abortion cases
where they went after women since anti abortions says that the law has not before Roe v. Wade. As
a result, it has been known back in the day women involuntarily stayed pregnant by order. If the
woman did not want to follow the rules then she can look for illegal medical help. Resulting in an
investigation by the authorities and going to court. Following that, Pollitt mentions a case in
Indiana that occurred not to long ago where a woman named Purvi Patel, did an illegal self abortion,

The Embargo In Cuba
In 1960 the United States, under President Eisenhower, established a partial embargo on the tiny
island nation of Cuba (Rampersand, 402). That partial embargo became a complete embargo under
President Kennedy in 1962. The United States established the embargo on Cuba to alter Cuba s
political clime. Looking back through the last 55 years, that goal has not been achieved. It is time
to end the embargo on the island nation of Cuba re establishing economic, scientific and cultural
exchanges.
While Cuba has endured the embargo by the United States, it has not had the access to the rapid
development of medical progress. Therefore, Cuba has had to rely on internal development
programs to ensure the overall health to its people. Not only could Cuba benefit from access to
medical research and trade, the United States could benefit as well. William Keck wrote the

Analysis Of The Poem The River That The Boy Spirit
She cleaned the spirit s dirty body and found out that the dirty things all came from human s
rubbish that discharged into rivers and lakes (Napier, 2006). After Chihiro cleaned the spirit,
this lets him not suffering from pollution. Then the spirit gave Chihiro some treasure that also
showed Miyazaki s view that if people try to protect the nature, nature will also return something
for humans (Napier, 2006). Another environmental concern in Spirited Away was a boy who
used to be the spirit of a river near Chihiro s old town, but he forgot his name. And he was
working in the spa center because the river was filled by human to build a highway (Reider,
2005). Miyazaki s view changed because his life changed at that time. Japan has developed
quickly at that time especially the industry, but people ignored that some activities could harm
the environment. Also, Napier stated Miyazaki explained that the inspiration for the river that
the boy spirit was a personal experience of his own when he helped to clean a polluted river near
his home (Napier, 2006). Miyazaki wanted to use the magic film to tell people the truth what they
did. Their behaviors reflected their daily life that damaged the environment with no intention and
also encouraged people to solve the problem in order to protect the environment. Ponyo on the

Biomedical Model
In order to understand the Biomedical model of health and wellbeing, the meaning behind the terms
biomedical, health and wellbeing must be understood. The term biomedical combines both
biological and medical science. It is a term used consistently within health care, that helps portray
the clear links with the biomedical concepts. Bio simply means living, or living organism. Medical
refers to the diagnosis and cure of a disease with the input of science. Healthcan be defined as a
complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

Psychological and social factors are excluded from this model. Excluding these will improve a
service provider s understanding of an individuals illness, with the only contribution from
biological factors. The main focus of this model is entirely on the individuals health and
wellbeing, seeking to treat/cure them through various applications. Reasons for a disease or
illness are completely unnecessary. This model of care is implemented through health care
professionals as a medical approach. Diseases or illnesses will be approached through diagnosis,
treatment and the possibility of a cure. An example of this could be; x ray, ultrasound, blood tests
and so. The action followed from the diagnostic is known as the treatment. Treatment aims to
improve an individuals health and wellbeing, for example; hospitalisation, surgery, medication,
physiotherapy and so on. To cure an individual means to successfully aid their return to the pre
illness state. The biomedical model has gradually developed and evolved due to the new advances
in technology, as well as other advances in areas like; medical science, increased rates in treatments
and cures. The concept of the biomedical model of health is usually the first thought that arises
when an individual thinks of healthcare. This model informs that no responsibility lies with an
individual who has an illness or disease, as both body and mind function

The Theory Of Multiple Intelligences
Introduction In this investigation related to intelligence cognitive and learning as a style of
individual differences, explanation the complex process of learning through of the intelligences.
Howards Gardner developed the theory of multiple intelligences thirty years ago, explain the
intelligence is the profile and each individual has different ways to learn, he affirm has seven
intelligences differ in their thinking, feeling, and behavior. No two people are alike, yet no two
people are unlike Gardner (1983). Gardner s theory has been adopted by many schools, has an
impact in the education system, a lot of teacher s included on their bloom s taxonomy the different
intelligences to understand how the information is absorbed, processed, and retained during
learning process, utilizing the tools to deliver instruction effectively. There are environmental,
cognitive and emotional variables that play an important role in the learning process. Multiple
Intelligences Theory A learning theory is an attempt to describe how people and animals learn;
thereby helping us understands the inherently complex process of learning. Gardner theories of
multiple intelligences should empower learners , not restrict them to one modality of learning. He
studies intelligence where individuals differ is in the strength of these intelligences and in the ways
in which such intelligences are involved and combined to carry out different responsibilities, solve
diverse problems, and

The Widow s Sorrow
Sorrow is life as life is sorrow. Sorrow discriminate no one and affects everyone. From the loss of
innocent to the loss of life, sorrow is man s best friend as it is an enemy, but with sorrow, there
comes hope for rejuvenation with the change of seasons. William Carlos Williams closely
analyzes sorrow a dead partner creates in his poem The Widow s Lament in the Springtime with
his naturalistic imagery to depict the movement of sorrow through time. First with the dead of a

The Negative Factors Of People With Disability In The 20th...
The thing about living with any disability is that you adapt; you do what works for you . Stella
Young
Disability is a defined as a physical or mental condition that restrain someone s movements, senses,
or activities. Before the twentieth century, the negative attitude towards a person with disability
were not healthy, sickening, and abnormal. For many centuries, society viewed people with
disability an incompetent, not being able to help themselves. They also viewed disability as a
reminder of death. In the book the psychological and social impact by Marini, I., Stebnicki, M. A.
(2012) on mental illness the author elaborates on how society viewed disability as a reminder of
death. The author mentioned that the loss of body part or physical function constitutes the death of
a part, the anxiety associated with death is rekindled at the sight of a person with disability, and that
disability groups are a reminder of our mortality. Things took a turned for a changed though, in the
20th century there have been multiple changes on how society views a person with a disability.
People with disability in the 20th century are more respected and are better accommodated prior
to the 20th century. Despite the positive attitude towards people with disability, there are many
disability related factors that still influences some negative responses to disability. Level of
severity, degree of visibility, and the degree of cosmetic, are some of the disability related
factors that influences response to disability. When someone have a disability, the level of
severity plays an enormous role on how the person is viewed. The more severe a disability is,
the more negatively it is perceived. Marini, I., Stebnicki, M. A. (2012). Many people can in fact
agree to this statement. A person that have been diagnosed with a severe disability, often will
feel like a burden to society, peers and even family. The reason behind this is because with a
severe disability, the person that acquired the disability might not be able take care of themselves,
physically or financially. Also, they might not be able to provide for their family the way they use
to before acquiring the disability. A person that have acquired a severe disability might

Availability Heuristic Advantages And Disadvantages
1.Availability Heuristic
Concept
Availability heuristic can be defined as making a choice based on immediate and easy examples
that comes to the mind more easily when evaluating a decision. Even though availability heuristic
has many pros such as saving time when making a choice, it does come with cons. This is because
the availability heuristic distorts our understanding of real threats and risks. For example, Tom is
a 10 year old boy that adores puppies and loves playing with them. One day he saw a puppy bite
its owner. Due to this small incident, Tom avoids playing with puppies even though the likelihood
of it happening is slim. Since this heuristic draws from immediate and easy examples, it uses
system 1 to evaluate our decisions. As we already know system 1 can lead to a lot of incorrect
assessments in comparison to system 2.

A recent news article came out with the title Four arrested after armed home invasion in Vaughn .

The Impact of The Cultural Revolution on China from 1965-1968
The Cultural Revolution had a massive impact on China from 1965 to 1968. The Cultural
Revolution is the name given to Mao s attempt to reassert his beliefs in China. Mao had not been a
very self motivated leader from the late 1950 s on, and feared others in the party might be taking on
a leading role that weakened his power within the party and the country. Basically, the Cultural
Revolutionwas a failed attempt by Mao to re impose his authority on the party and therefore, the

He attempted to pursue these goals through a massive recruitment of the country s urban youths,
organized into groups called the Red Guards.
Although the Cultural Revolution had a huge impact on all of the citizens of China, it seemed
to affect the youth the most. The youth of China began to get involved after a speech by Lin
Biao by 1965. It urged the students in schools and colleges to return to the basic principles of the
CR. The Chinese youths quickly formed a group called the Red Guards early in the CR, which
encouraged all the Chinese students to disapprove of whoever didn t support Mao and his beliefs
or anyone associated with Mao s rival, Liu Shaoqi (Trueman). Schools and colleges were closed,
and the students neglected their studies. While the Red Guards were very passionate about what
they did, their enthusiasm nearly pushed China into social disorder. The economy was affected

strengths and weaknesses are rooted in historical fact. Take the French for example. Historically,
the French originally came to the New World as independent trappers and merchants who spread
across the wilderness (unlike other settlers who largely came as colonialists on behalf of their
respective crowns). They appropriately have the strongest settler units in the game, uniquely
titled Coureur des Bois or runners in the woods . They are more expensive than settlers of other
civilization, but they collect resources faster and are more resistant early attacks. As the French
age through in the game, their military strengths reflect the rise in military prominence the
French historically experienced initially under Kings Louis XII and XIV and later under
Napoleon Bonaparte, which were both supported by a backbone of heavy cavalry of gendarmes
and cuirassiers. Similarly, among a few of the other playable civilizations, the Dutch have the
unique ability to build banks to generate coin without having to mine for it, the British have the
strongest navy, and the Portuguese get a new town center with every age. The Ottomans, who are
also a playable civilization in AoE III, may seem like an odd addition to a game based primarily in
the New World, but its presence is one of the many ways Age of Empires subtly engages its player
in thinking more broadly about history. At the time when many Western European nations sought to
exploit trade in Asia (and ended up in the New World), they wanted to tap into what was the
Ottoman s market. Istanbul was the cultural and economic capital that

Catawba River Basin
What is a river basin? A river basin is an area of land that water flows across or under to make it s
way to a river. Just like a bathtub, it catches all the water that falls within its sides, and its sends
all falling water to a central river or to its estuary. It drains all of the land around a major river.
There basins can be divided into watersheds, or areas of land around a smaller river, stream, or lake.
North Carolinais made up of many watershed that are connected to each other. In each watershed,
all water flows to lowest point, to a stream, lake, river, or ocean. Everyone lives in a river basin

The Cape Fear River Basin is one of the four river basins completely contained within North
Carolina, and is over 9,164 square miles. Cape Fear s quality ranges from 35% of the streams

toxic spills throughout the years have been one of the main causes to the low quality.During the last

Service Breadth And Reliability Of Intermodal Service
Intermodal service evolves
The full range of interdependent intermodal (IMDL) transportation and distribution services have
evolved in recent years and now offer the service breadth and reliability necessary to play an
important part in domestic and global supply chains.
Intermodal was once a slow trailers on rails alternative to inter city trucking with less than
dependable transit times typically available only between limited sets of origin and destination
cities. The service was not integrated with other transportation and distribution components of the
supply chain.
Today, intermodal offers dependable, flexible and cost effective linehaul, dray and transload options
for large and small shippers moving products through logistics networks, whether across North
America between major population centers, or as final miles distribution of an international supply
chain. Increasingly, Intermodal is being leveraged by shippers over relatively short distances at a
cost that s competitive with OTR (Over The Road) trucking service and with scheduled and reliable
transit times.
Intermodal s value proposition for shippers centers around the concept of using multiple,
coordinated and highly managed transportation and distribution services. These services consist of
off dock and terminal drayage, ocean container to domestic equipment transloading, rail linehaul
and destination drayage to effect efficient, cost effective and risk managed supply chains. The

I Want To Join 2XU Essay
Brian,
I believe in being honest and forthright even when it is a tough conversation.
2XU is a small office and during the week, Chris Sinkovich had conversations that were sadly,
were easily over heard. I am aware you re considering a plan to terminate my employment with 2XU

You and I haven t had a chance to spend a great deal of time together thus far and allow us to

I believed that 2XU was equally devoted to me being a long term part of the company, so I
committed to becoming part of the company.
Now that I m likely going to be terminated, I would like to have an open and honest conversation
to understand what is the basses for that. I would also like to know what level of severance I will

I understand in you re coming to 2XU that you see areas that you want make improvements. In our

The Miracle of Feeding the 5000 Essay
The first thing that one needs to understand is the true meaning of the miracles Jesus performed,
even though the Devil does not want us to understand the meaning. He loves when we speculate
and question. In the Bible, miracles are often referred to as signs. Miracles are acts that only
God can be responsible for, usually above and beyond natural laws. Baker s Dictionary of the
Bible defines a miracle as Synthesizing the root connotations of these terms, we may define a
miracle biblically as an observable phenomenon effected by the direct operation of God s power, an
arresting deviation from the ordinary sequences of nature, a deviation calculated to elicit faith

Jesus also performed a miracle of feeding four thousand (Matthew 15: 32, Mark 8: 1), which is
much like the miracle of Jesus feeding the five thousand. There were many more astonishing acts
performed by the wondrous miracle worker, Jesus. The coin in the fish s mouth, walking on the
water, and raising of Lazarus from the dead, are just a minute amount, out of approximately thirty
six. The miracle of Jesus feeding the five thousand is just one of the many.
Feeding of the multitude is the only miracle besides the resurrection that is present in all four of
the Gospels; Matthew 14: 13 21, Mark 6: 31 44, Luke 9: 10 17, and John 6: 1 15. Jesus
performed this miracle of feeding the multitude of five thousand, with only five barley loaves of
bread and two fish. The basic meaning of all four gospels is the same with a few slight differences.
The amount of five thousand did not include the women or children. According to John A Broadus,
the number of these (woman and children) was probably small in proportion to the men, for
otherwise Mark, Luke, and John would hardly have omitted to mention them.
Matthew and Mark have the most similar writings in regards to this miraculous act, besides a few
minor things. Matthew writes that Jesus feels pity for them and cures the sick but Mark on the
other hand does write that Jesus feels pity, but does not mention healing the sick. In Matthew, the
people heard the ship

The Problem Of Internet Addiction
In the modern day, technology surrounds every human in one form or another. Whether it be from
televisions, phones, or computers, it is clear that technology affects the lives of the human
population as well. This effect from technology has in some ways crippled humanity since we need
technology more as a crutch than as a tool. A prime example of dependence on a source of
technology is the use of the internet. People from all over the world depend on the internet for their
everyday needs ranging from grocery shopping to entertainment. Our dependence on this resource
increases daily. This dependence has caused side effects not foreshadowed with the internet. Now
humanity is faced with reality of internet addiction. Just like any other addiction to drugs, internet
addiction can ruin a person and their family. It disconnects people from reality and is dangerous to
a point that people have lost their lives to it. Experts believe internet addiction is growing problem
in the 21st Century. As the younger generations age they have grown more accustomed to
technology and their growing dependence and fascination with its wonders is making internet
addiction a worldwide problem. Studies are being conducted worldwide to determine the extent of
the problem. In the United States in a study by Stanford Medical School, Net Addiction,
researchers found 1 in 8 Americans suffer from one aspect of Internet addiction. In North America
and Europe prevalence rates are estimated between 1.5%

Teen Pregnancy And Its Effect On Children
My mother always said You are a princess and your body is a temple, so treat it like one . As I
grew up, that was the phrase that made a profound impact on my childhood. My parents felt that
for me to be confident and successful, I would have to be at peace emotionally and physically
during the most crucial years of my growth. They always said Do not become another one of the
statistics! . In my early teenage years I believed that they kept me sheltered, but now in my
freshmen year of college, I could not be more thankful for their guidance and protection. At the time
I did not understand what she meant, but after my years in high schoolit all made sense. I, like many
other teens, would gain knowledge on relationships and sexuality. In this country teen pregnancyhas
high increase in minorities, one of the main reasons why the population is expanding. It is through
proper knowledge of sexuality and protection that female teens are able to prevent pregnancy.
Coming from a family of immigrants, I have many life goals. I always enjoyed school and
participated in extracurricular activities. My parents emphasized that keeping myself healthy and
well rounded would grant me virtue and confidence. All of middle and high school I played tennis
for my school and club team. While I kept myself fit, my coaches and mentors continually
motivated me, even when I struggled. Outside of class, I participated in Model United Nations and

(Waller, 2006). Through examination of the drawings and objective findings, it appears that a
visual measurement of creative growth was achieved. (Valerie Smitheman Brown Lutherville,
Robin R Church, 1996). Art therapy uses creative expression to provide individuals with a safe
outlet for expressing thoughts and emotions to successfully facilitate recovery from physiological
distress. In Israel, a model for art therapy has been developed for educational settings with
children who behave aggressively (Edna Nissimov Nahum, 2008 ). Verbal communication is
difficult for adolescents and more difficult for aggressive adolescents, it was found that art therapy
can reduce anger and improve self esteem of aggressive adolescents. (Ramin alavinezhad,

regression. (Henk Smeijsters, Gorry Cleven,

Why Is Laertes Important In Hamlet
All humans, search for that person who understands them, that comes from similar positions in
life, and can comprehend how the decisions made were arrived at. In Hamlet, by William
Shakespeare the revenge of a father is approached in three different ways. The obvious one is the
subplot with Fortinbras, but the subtler one is Laertes. Shakespeare uses Laertes to show what
could have been if different approaches had been taken. Throughout the play, Laertes is not only the
reflection of Hamlet, but also the representation of choices Hamlet could have made. Shakespeare
is recognizable, because his pieces are open to interpretation and are understandable to every
generation. When reading Shakespeare, the key is to trudge through, if... Show more content on

Hamlet, unwilling to believe that Claudius murdered his father, sets up a trap to prove it.
Hamlet is a soft fellow, who thinks too much and has many suicidal tendencies. Even after he
has proven that Claudius is guilty, and is granted an opportunity for vengeance he passes it over,
using the excuse of not wishing to kill a man in confession. Meanwhile, Hamlet has no trouble
killing Polonius through the curtains because he was spying on the meeting between Gertrude
and Hamlet. Hamlet also knows for the majority of the play that he will end up killing his old
companions: Guildenstern and Rosencrantz. Only the king presents an obstacle for Hamlet. As a
result of the murder of Polonius, the audience views what Hamlet could have done to Claudius.
When Laertes returns from abroad because his father is dead (just as Hamlet returned home at the
beginning of the play), he is presented with the shock of a mad sister who is obsessed with and
the fact that his father s murderer is Hamlet and under the king s protection. Upon his arrival the
people proclaim him the next king, as Hamlet should have been if Gertrude had stayed

Eternal Life In C. S. Lewis The Great Divorce
The Great Divorce by C. S. Lewis uses a hypothetical situation to exemplify the choice everyone
must make between eternal life and eternal death. Both choices are available and the person has
the free will to choose. The narrative in the story is a personal experience of a ghost riding a bus
from Hell to Heaven. The story begins in a dark, gloomy place that resembles Purgatory or Hell. It
is not necessarily fire and brimstone, but it is obviously not a place where there is any
happiness. There are no relationships between the inhabitants and everyone moves as far away
from others as possible. People bicker and fight for no apparent reason. The Bible says that Hell is
eternal separation from God. The Hell in The Great Divorce represents this... Show more content on

C. S. Lewis discusses this topic by saying The choice of ways is before you . Everyone has the
choice to choose eternal life just like how everyone in Hell in The Great Divorce has the option
to ride the bus to Heaven. The only difference between the situations is that the characters in the
book must ride the bus to Heaven and choose to stay there. When the inhabitants of Hell reaches
the Gates of Heaven, they notice everything is solid and hard, while they are merely ghosts. This
shows how God s heavenly kingdom is stronger, denser, and more solid because it has been built
on a strong foundation, God himself. Hell and its residents are weak, airy, and hollow because
they are grounded in the earthly world, which provides no eternal substance. Because Heaven
and a relationship with God is obviously the preferable option, the previous residents of Hell should
stay in Heaven. This is much like how the unsaved people should happily accept God s gift of
salvation. However, the solid world in Heaven is hard to live in for a

Color can also determine perception and time; as in The Skeleton Key with the light, moss and old
trees; the colors of light, neutral and earth tones are considered the good powers. On the other
hand when we think of evil, blood or violence we think of the color red. When someone gets
hurts and there s blood, immediately it triggers a warning signal to another person; danger,
somethings happened. When we see a lot of blood we know it s a dangerous situation and it
means possible death. To some it s Dracula, sacrifice, devil, and fire. Everyone has a right to
believe how they want. In The Skeleton Key we see throughout the movie the color red; how
red lines of red brick dust are placed in various locations. Caroline uses the brick dust to try to
keep Violet, evil out. Surprisingly, flabbergasted by the results, Caroline realizes the truth about
Violet when she will not enter the room. Although Hoodoo is a religion, it s not real unless you

Luis was very welcoming even though Wednesdays are a challenge for him. Every Wednesday he gets a list of deficient charts ready for the director of HIM, analysis staff and the resident coordinator. Luis asked me to take a seat for a few minutes while he gathered his report. This was perfect for me, it gave me a chance to work on my hospital profile work and I prepared my questions for him during this time. Once he was ready for me, he opened Care Connection to show me the list of discharges he needed to work on. He opened random discharge summaries to show me what components of a patient s record he focuses on as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mr. Bodunde first gave me an indebt explanation of what his duties and responsibilities are and the expectation management has for production. Once introductions were complete, he proceeded to code. Mr. Bodunde is an outpatient coder who codes Emergency Room charts as well as Obstetrics/Gynecology. He coded a few charts to show me how to use 3M to code and let me take over. I have to say the basics that were instilled in me in coding class came in handy for this experience. I was able to capture clinical data from the patient charts with 80% accuracy with his guidance. Once I gained momentum I was able to move quicker through the charts. We started with the Obstetrics charts and worked our way to the ER charts. The ER charts were a bit more complex since more clinical data needed to be captured to tell the story. I had Mr. Bodunde code a handful charts with the ER charts before I took ... Without mathematics our society would have not evolved as much with technology and many other discoveries as we have today. Mathematics is a theory that developed overtime and that it has been made from many contributors who have discover many different types of branches that go under mathematics. For example, some of the concepts in mathematics are algebra, calculus, geometry, trigonometry as well as many others. According to the dictionary Merriam Webster the definition of Mathematics is the science of numbers and their operations interrelations, combinations, generalizations, and abstractions and of space configurations and their structure, measurement, transformations, and generalizations. Society has created mathematics the building block for everything in our daily activities. Math is involved from little to the food that we consume to the way we communicate with one another. Math is very important despite that many believe that their daily activities do not require any of the formulas or equations thought to them, they are completely wrong. Since math has been around for thousands of years now there is no evidence of who was the first person who use it or who discovered mathematics. It is to be said that early mathematics started with counting, when humanity first started to keep records of objects and that s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Three Dimensional Printing Essay More Types of Three dimensional Printing Processes Larry Hornbeck created digital light processing in 1987. Hornbeck invented the digital micro mirror device, first used for cinema projectors. This micro mirror device can be used for digital light processing, which uses arc lamps to harden a liquid plastic resin. Digital light processing is a low cost method and reduces waste. Selective laser melting uses a high power laser beam to fuse and melt metallic powders. The laser fully melts the powder into a solid 3D object. The University of California s Engineering department is testing technology related to 3D printing houses, and exploring the possibility of electrical and plumbing work being printed too. This would allow houses to be built in twenty hours. This could solve housing issues globally. Seventeen million children around the world suffer from malnutrition. What if we could print a balanced meal? To end world hunger, we need to be capable of manufacturing cheap but nutritious food. In 2013, NASA gave a grant to a Texas engineering firm to create the world s first food 3D printer. The models built can use chocolate or infused sugar to print. With more research and development, this technology could one day save malnourished children around the world. Lack of clean drinking water and sanitation measures for the disposal of waste are also big issues, especially in developing countries. The University of Washington and charity Water for Humans are partnering to create toilets and rainwater collection devices using three dimensional printing. Once established, they plan to try this technology in Oaxaca, Mexico. To help protect teak trees used to build boats in West Africa, waste plastic can be used to 3D print boats. There are many factors, which contribute to the degeneration of Macbeth of which three will be discussed. The three points, which contribute greatly to Macbeth s degeneration, are the prophecies, which were told to him by the witches, Lady Macbeth s influence and manipulation of Macbeth s judgment, and finally Macbeth s long time ambition which drove his desire to be king. Under these influences Macbeth s character degenerates from a noble, brave, loyal man to violent, murdering, tyrant individual. The prophecies, told by the witches, were one of the factors, which ... Macbeth s image of himself forces him to reply, I dare do all that may become a man; Who dares do more, is none As soon as Macbeth has performed the treasonous deed he immediately regrets his wrongdoing. At this point of the play the audience can note the change in Macbeth s character. Macbeth s first murder was a trying experience for him, however after the first murder; killing seemed to be the only solution to maintain his reign of the people of Scotland. Therefore, it was Lady Macbeth who introduced the concept of murder to Macbeth as the shortest way to obtain the crown that was prophesied by the witches. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is this realisation that sowed the seeds of collective bargaining which later resulted in trade unionism. The workers, working under a common employer, faced common problems and common tasks. They developed common sentiments, and organised themselves into associations which could meet the employers on a basis of equality. The inchoate labour organisations had to cross many hurdles before they could develop into fullfledged stable trade unions. There were internal dissentions, persistent and determined opposition from the employers, merciless persecution and suppression by the state (For example, in England, France, Germany and the United States, combinations of workmen per se were declared illegal), and the full throated condemnation of trade unionism by the advocates of free competition and laissez faire. In spite of these efforts at suppression, trade unions continued to grow, sometimes working underground and sometimes openly. They continued to defy the laws prohibiting the combination of workmen (Combination Acts of 1799 and 1800 in Great Britain, for example) and the judicial pronouncements (particularly, the judgement in the Philadelphia Cordwainers Case of 1806 in the United States) against the combinations of workmen. Under incessant pressures from the workers and their organisations, the law and the attitude of the courts gradually came to be modified. This document was written and presented during a time that East and West Berlin became East and West Berlin separated by the Berlin wall,a time when Freedom writers challenged segregation, and when the Soviets had their first man to fly in space. John F. Kennedy was just to be inagurated as the 35th president of the United States of America. This document clearly states of all Kennedy desired to achieve for the United States. He made us reflect that if he could be humble enough to help one another that we can later on be humble enough to extend the hand to those other countries who need it as well. His idea of ending communism and democracy was brilliant as in the view of needing to come together as one and working always as one not as America separate. Learn to never expect something in return that only God can judge our good work. Let this teach us to not be greedy of what we may already hold that what we have is enough. Americans have been bombarded with British culture for years, and rather than shun the differences, they have accepted them into their lives. Music, television, and literature in America have all been changed due to British influence. In many different ways, the British Invasion has greatly affected American culture. The early British invasion was an amazing time for music. The American music culture blossomed and grew, leaving even today s public infatuated. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When it comes to most people, one band in particular pops into mind. For some, maybe it is The Who, singing My Generation. However, more often than not, it is The Beatles who stand above the rest. The Beatles are credited for being the main cause of the British invasion. They tried for many years to gain the support and recognition of the American public, but to no avail. In 1963, The Beatles released a single, trying to get onto the American charts, but it ended up only gaining popularity in England.(Gilmore, Mikal) But on November 22, 1963, the unthinkable happens, and president John F. Kennedy was shot and killed. After seeing how heartbroken the American public was, the Beatles swooped, seeming to be the perfect antidote to their broken hearts. The beatles released another song, I Want to Hold Your Hand, which quickly made it to number 1 on Billboard Hot 100 . At one point in their careers, the band held down all top 5 positions on the national singles chart. They could not last forever though, and on September 1969, John Lennon privately announced that he would be leaving the group. The public did not know about the break up until April 10, 1970, when Paul McCartney announced that he too was leaving the band. However, it is recognized that there is still a lot of ill health that is related to diseases of poverty and ignorance. Of the six WHO regions in the world, the African Region bears the heaviest burden of disease (WHO, 2000). Effective and efficient implementation of national and local policies can reverse this trend. Indeed, the world press (2008) opined that a critical challenge for countries in Africa is to move from policy to action in the health service delivery. This move from policy to action should be grounded on each country addressing its priority health needs and mobilizing its people to improve the state of health service delivery at personal and community levels. According to a World Bank report, Sri Lanka has achieved a remarkable health service delivery as a result of devolution (World Bank 2010). This has been attributed to successful implementation of a credible budget constraint for the hospital; reform to strengthen the accountability of managers for the performance of the hospital through the creation of a board of external directors or trustees, or a hospital authority to supervise the manager; and increased managerial authority with freedom to recruit, promote, set tasks and work hours, and decide on performance rewards and sanctions. • 14. My Original Definition Of Social Media Essay 1.My original definition for antisemitism was: antisemitism is the conscience or unconscious hatred of a Jew or Jews, because of certain characteristics that the hater believes the Jew or all Jews possess by being Jewish. However, one thing that my original definition does not hint towards the wide spectrum of behaviors that are antisemitic. This is an advantage that your definition has. Your definition mentions a spectrum form mildest expressions to exterminatory activities. Your definition goes on to list different examples of antisemitic behavior. One category of behavior is not mentioned though, and that is the use of social media to do such things as cyber bullying. We talked some during the course about social media, especially at the end of the course when we discussed the six parentheses symbol. Perhaps a better definition of antisemitismcould come about by combining our two definitions and making mention of social media. The new definition could be: antisemitism is defined as the conscience or unconscious hatred of Jewsor Judaismfrom its mildest expressions to exterminatory activates. The activists include making jokes, cyberbullying, the destruction of religious objects, defacing synagogues, and murdering Jewish people. This new definition considers actions despite weather or not the hater is aware of them. For example, a person could have always been told that Jews are greedy. The soil is vital in supporting plant life and all forms life. The soil is not consistent throughout the world because of the way that it is formed and environmental factors that vary through the process of soilformation. The factors that play the most important role in the formation of soil are climate, organisms, relief, parent material and time. These factors form the acronym CLORPT that is used to describe the processes. Climate includes factors such as temperature and moisture; they are important in determining the speed of weathering and the decay rate of the organic material. Organisms include animals that burrow through the soil that affects the permeability and amount of air in the soil. Other organisms in the soil are bacteria that affect the rate of decay of organic matter. Relief is the direction and slope of the surface. This factor determines the amount of sunlight and how much water is kept in the soil. Parent Material influences the chemical characteristics of the soil. For example, a soil formed from limestone will have higher calcium concentration than soils that are formed from a parent material with lower calcium than limestone. Time affects soil by how much time it had to develop. Older soil will be different than younger soil because it has had more time to breakdown parent material and decay organic matter. CLORPT ... My Target population for my field placement will be Children who have been maltreated, neglected and abused. Child abuse prevention has grown exponentially in El Paso over the past 31 years. In El Paso alone the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services investigated 4,979 reports of alleged child abuse in 2014 in El Paso County. They confirmed that 1,339 children were indeed victims of abuse; 379 confirmed cases of Physical abuse, 166 confirmed cases of sexual abuse, 56 cases of emotional abuse and 70 cases of medical neglect (Lee Beulah Moor,2016) A troubling trend has emerged regarding the prevention of child maltreatment in the state of Texas. A tragic loophole contributing to continued abuse and in many cases child fatalities, continues to be exploited to the detriment of one of our most vulnerable populations. From 2009 to 2014, there were 800 child fatalities reported as abuse and neglect deaths by Child Protective Services in all of Texas (Ball, 2015). They traditionally identify their land as bounded by these mountains or ranges: Mt. Kenya (which they call Kirinyaga the shining mountain), Ol Donyo Sapuk, the Ngong Hills and the Aberdare (Nyandarua) Range. Many Kikuyus also live in Uganda and Tanzania, some having risen to national leadership. History: The Kikuyu traditionally believe that a man, Gikuyu, was the founder of the tribe. He had a wife named Mumbi, who gave birth to nine (plus one) daughters. The daughters married and had their own families, retaining a domineering role in Kikuyu society. This has led to the current division of the Kikuyu into nine (plus one) family groupings. According to legend, the men grew tired of their treatment by the women and rebelled. This legend seems to represent a change in history from matriarchal to patriarchal organization, which also occurred with other Bantu peoples. Ancestors of the Kikuyu arrived in Kenya during the Bantu migrations of 1200 1600 AD. The Kikuyu developed from several continuous waves of migration and remigration within the area. The Kikuyu as such actually came to be by around 1800, and include some families from all the surrounding peoples. One genetic line contributing to the Kikuyu is the Thagicu, thought to be the earliest Bantu settlers in the area, perhaps around 1200 AD. The Kamba also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even do things that we despise. William Faulkner s Barn Burning illustrates just such a case. Presenting a young boy s progression from a loyal child, to an independent man as a conflict of loyalty and morals. This boy, Sarty, battles his own forming morals versus his father s decisions, which leads to his development from child to adult. Faulkner writes his characters progression in five stages: blind loyalty, repressed disagreements, open questioning, and attempted reasoning with his father, before finally taking action to contradict his father. This first step in Sarty s change is shown at the very start of Barn Burning. His father, Abner Snopes, is on trial accused of burning a barn. The trial is told from the perspective of Abner s son, Sarty. As he observes the trial Sarty mentally calls the accuser his father s enemy (par. 1). Although Sarty immediately corrects himself and reclassifies the accuser as both his and Snopes enemy, Sarty s estrangement from his father s ideals first starts here. Because of his disgust with himself, I can only assume that before Sarty has blindly followed his father. Consequently, Sarty still fights to maintain this loyalty. As displayed when Sarty is asked to testify. Knowing that his father would want him to lie, Sarty is filled with frantic grief and despair (par. 1). He mentally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

And while we aim to categorize and understand all aspects of the mind, it seems that we end up highlight complex, fascinating and uniquely different each individual s mind works. One of the unique ways we ve categorized the way our brainprocesses information is through senses. We ll take a look at each sensein the coming paragraphs. The ability to detect and interpret the events that are occurring around us allows us to respond to these stimuli appropriately (Gibson Pick, 2000). The human brain has a large capacity to interpret information through sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. One of the examples in chapter 4 of our book talks about our capacities for sense is like a kaleidoscope. In in a perfect scenario all senses work together in a beautiful medley. Take the following excerpt for example: In many ways our senses are quite remarkable. In recent years, the ability for governments to implement their mandates has shifted from being a function of the people s will to that of parliament s. A mandate is the authority provided by voters to a successful political party to pursue its policies in parliament. The government s electoral victory produces a majoritarian mandate, and gives them the right to implement their policies. In recent years, minor parties who hold the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Firstly, a government s claim to a majoritarian mandate can reduce Australian politics to an electoral democracy. The opposition might be able to criticise government policy but according to this theory they have no right to amend, block or delay government legislation. This reduces the role of members of parliament, pressure groups and the media to simply channel public opinion. Broader participation in the political process is limited by the government s claim to an all powerful mandate. Furthermore, in recent parliaments, the will of the government has been frustrated by the parliament. However, it is because of this fact it can be argued parliament produces better legislation due to poor legislation being blocked. Australia s two party dominance, reflecting the majority of people s will in the lower house has been proven effective and the Senate that is designed to act as the house of review is an effective check on the people s will. This model of care is implemented through health care professionals as a medical approach. Diseases or illnesses will be approached through diagnosis, treatment and the possibility of a cure. An example of this could be; x ray, ultrasound, blood tests and so. The action followed from the diagnostic is known as the treatment. Treatment aims to improve an individuals health and wellbeing, for example; hospitalisation, surgery, medication, physiotherapy and so on. • 37. The Negative Factors Of People With Disability In The 20th... The thing about living with any disability is that you adapt; you do what works for you . Stella Young Disability is a defined as a physical or mental condition that restrain someone s movements, senses, or activities. Before the twentieth century, the negative attitude towards a person with disability were not healthy, sickening, and abnormal. For many centuries, society viewed people with disability an incompetent, not being able to help themselves. They also viewed disability as a reminder of death. In the book the psychological and social impact by Marini, I., Stebnicki, M. A. (2012) on mental illness the author elaborates on how society viewed disability as a reminder of death. The author mentioned that the loss of body part or physical function constitutes the death of a part, the anxiety associated with death is rekindled at the sight of a person with disability, and that disability groups are a reminder of our mortality. Things took a turned for a changed though, in the 20th century there have been multiple changes on how society views a person with a disability. People with disability in the 20th century are more respected and are better accommodated prior to the 20th century. Despite the positive attitude towards people with disability, there are many disability related factors that still influences some negative responses to disability. Level of severity, degree of visibility, and the degree of cosmetic, are some of the disability related factors that influences response to disability. When someone have a disability, the level of severity plays an enormous role on how the person is viewed. The more severe a disability is, the more negatively it is perceived. Marini, I., Stebnicki, M. A. (2012). Many people can in fact agree to this statement. A person that have been diagnosed with a severe disability, often will feel like a burden to society, peers and even family. The reason behind this is because with a severe disability, the person that acquired the disability might not be able take care of themselves, physically or financially. Also, they might not be able to provide for their family the way they use to before acquiring the disability. A person that have acquired a severe disability might ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Availability Heuristic Advantages And Disadvantages 1.Availability Heuristic Concept Availability heuristic can be defined as making a choice based on immediate and easy examples that comes to the mind more easily when evaluating a decision. Even though availability heuristic has many pros such as saving time when making a choice, it does come with cons. This is because the availability heuristic distorts our understanding of real threats and risks. For example, Tom is a 10 year old boy that adores puppies and loves playing with them. One day he saw a puppy bite its owner. Due to this small incident, Tom avoids playing with puppies even though the likelihood of it happening is slim. Since this heuristic draws from immediate and easy examples, it uses system 1 to evaluate our decisions. As we already know system 1 can lead to a lot of incorrect assessments in comparison to system 2. Example A recent news article came out with the title Four arrested after armed home invasion in Vaughn . Where the article talks about how four individuals entered a home armed. Link: http://www.cp24.com/news/four arrested after armed home invasion in vaughan 1.3345993 Explanation My parents rarely read the news due to lack of time, but they knew about this incident because it was close to our home and all my relatives were talking about it. The Cultural Revolution is the name given to Mao s attempt to reassert his beliefs in China. Mao had not been a very self motivated leader from the late 1950 s on, and feared others in the party might be taking on a leading role that weakened his power within the party and the country. • 41. Age Of Empires Age of Empires III (AoE III) was released in 2005 as the final installment to Microsoft s Ensemble Studio s genre defining historical real time strategy (RTS) PC series. The game, like its predecessors, of which the first was released in 1997, focuses on historical events and revolves around two primary game modes: a campaign mode and a skirmish mode. For the most part, although released six years after Age of Empires II (and three years after the spin off Age of Mythology), gameplay remains the same with the old themes of base building, resource gathering, and destruction of an enemy common throughout most RTS titles. Age of Empires, however, stands apart from other RTS games because it achieves an unprecedented level of engagement and immersion.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In AoE III, a player can choose to play from a selection of seven European civilizations that were prominent at periods of time during the Age of Exploration through the Industrial Revolution. While general mechanics of the game are the same from civilization to civilization, their strengths and weaknesses are rooted in historical fact. Take the French for example. Historically, the French originally came to the New World as independent trappers and merchants who spread across the wilderness (unlike other settlers who largely came as colonialists on behalf of their respective crowns). They appropriately have the strongest settler units in the game, uniquely titled Coureur des Bois or runners in the woods . They are more expensive than settlers of other civilization, but they collect resources faster and are more resistant early attacks. As the French age through in the game, their military strengths reflect the rise in military prominence the French historically experienced initially under Kings Louis XII and XIV and later under Napoleon Bonaparte, which were both supported by a backbone of heavy cavalry of gendarmes and cuirassiers. Similarly, among a few of the other playable civilizations, the Dutch have the unique ability to build banks to generate coin without having to mine for it, the British have the strongest navy, and the Portuguese get a new town center with every age. The Ottomans, who are also a playable civilization in AoE III, may seem like an odd addition to a game based primarily in the New World, but its presence is one of the many ways Age of Empires subtly engages its player in thinking more broadly about history. At the time when many Western European nations sought to exploit trade in Asia (and ended up in the New World), they wanted to tap into what was the Ottoman s market.
