2. Screenshots of editing radio
broadcast
Editing was easy as I included a jingle from Youtube to
introduce my radio show, then the theme tune (Best of
Radio Intro) then goes into the actual interview. After
the interview we then have a different jingle and the
outro theme song to end the radio broadcast.

3. I have met the aims of the brief in terms of the audience as I made sure the audience will be informed and
influenced by what is happening in the UK currently. A audience such as teenagers may not tune in as they may
want a more entertaining radio segment/podcast, also the topic I talk about in my radio interview is a serious and
more harsh topic. Some audiences may not be interested as it is a sad topic to talk about as people died in the
London Bridge attack. My target audience is young people in East London. This suits the audience as they may be
getting ready for work or either getting ready to just go out, or even college whilst listening to the radio. Younger
people are also assumed to have radios accessed from their phones or any devices. My topic went well as it was
easy for me to talk about the London Bridge attacks as it happened the other day. So the recording well very smooth
and I knew what to say and not want to say in case it would offended any listeners. The topic is a hard subject to talk
about but I wanted to push myself and do a different segment to everyone else. When the topic was chosen I found
it easy to talk about as I researched the London Bridge attacks and this gave me various ideas of what to include in
my radio broadcast. It also gave me ideas on how I should interview and how my script should be structured.
The topic was not hard to chose as I would see it on the news various times when it occurred. So I was prepared to
write the script and include a detailed audio consisting of the interview of a victims mother who is trying to cope
with the loss of her son. To an extent my news segment fit my original ideas for my audio piece, as I followed my
intended script, and went in detail. I didn’t change my script as it was structured well and also had timings so it was
clear and easy to record. The dialogue fit with my original ideas as some parts of the show my actor will pause to
create tension and sadness. This made my segment come across as realistic and also it represents some of the
victims who are going through a rough time. The intro and outro went well as it was easy to source appropriate
jingles that went well with my radio segment. The interview questions fit my audio piece as it was detailed and also
was smart and not offensive to the listener either way. The questions went smoothly with the answers which is what
I wanted. The equipment used for the segment never changed as I knew what equipment was needed it was nice
and easy and flowed very well while recording. My recording schedule went well as I was organised, I recorded in
the media room so there was no noise included in my segment. Over all my planning fit with my audio recording as I
planned well and it was also detailed with all the points I needed to include. The structure helped me record
smoothly with no Hassel.
4. My strengths that I have used in my radio segment is preproduction as I planned in a detailed manner. I made sure I
included all preproduction segments so I am organised when it came to recording. I made sure I had a recording
schedule so my actor was on time for recording and sounds checks etc. I felt that my copyright clearances was good
as I made sure I did not use any artists music unless I got approval by the artist. I then resulted in using free
instrument music for my radio segment which went well. I included the instrumentals and jingles in Logic Pro. I felt
that the equipment was booked out very quickly and I recorded straight after which was good. This made it easier
for me to edit and export to my blogger. Another strength of my audio is that it appealed to my target audience it
was informing and interesting. It was not too long as the listeners may get distracted or bored especially if the target
audience is young people in East London. I felt that I structured my audio recording well as I had background
research of the event. The editing of my segment also went well as it was easy to drag the content into the program
Logic, the editing went smoothly and was done quickly.
My areas for improvement is I could have been more prepared as in the recording I would move the script by
accident. This resulted us in starting over again as we did not want any diegetic background noises included in my
segment. Also a noise from my chair was included by accident next time I will try to use a more smaller room so no
background noise gets included. I will also try to make the script more natural as possible at some points it does
sound like we was reading from a script..
