Solidarity Movement And Polish Revolution
On May 7th, 2011, United States President Barack Obama made a speech in which he asked the Arab
Spring nations in transition to democracy to use Poland as a role model . However, Central Europe
and the Middle East are different linguistically, religiously, and historically. Was there any actual basis
for President Obama s comparison? Or was this speech another instance of a politician making a grand
generalization to prove a point? Upon further examination, both Poland s Solidarity movement and
Tunisia s Jasmine Revolution acted as catalysts for democratization in their respective regions. This is
because they both started as economic movements, and then evolved into social movements, which
became democratization attempts. In addition, both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually, the workers themselves began to organize and publicly demand rights. The last group in
Polish society who was responsible for achieving success in the Solidarity movement was the
religious sector. The religious support that the Solidarity movement possessed cannot be overlooked.
On the protestor s side, it s easy to fight for your rights when you know that God supports you. On the
other hand, it s difficult for the government to fight against a religious institution that has such
powerful influence over the people. Pope John Paul II, originally a Polish citizen named Karol
Wojtyla, played a key role in not only broadcasting the Solidarity movement to the world, but also by
giving the Solidarity movement a pseudo divine right to exist . In 1978, Karol Wojtyla was elected to
be the first non Italian pope since the 1500s . Thus began the attention that he drew not only from the
international Catholic community, but the international community in general. Furthermore, in his
visit to Poland, he affirmed the Polish people s right to organize themselves, and to protest against
their mistreatment. In 1979, the year before Solidarity was officially formed, Pope John Paul II visited
his home country once again and gave speeches concerning civil rights in Poland. The International
Center on Nonviolent Conflict states, During a pilgrimage that was broadcast on state TV and radio,
the Pope spoke openly about human rights and the right to freedom of expression and conscience .
CNN confirms this statement and adds to it, stating that the Pope s support was financial, as well. In
discussing the fall of communism in Poland, it claims, It took time; it took the Pope s support from
Rome some of it financial; it took several more trips in 1983 and 1987. But the flame was lit. It would

Moganism And The Christian Beliefs Of Christianity And...
Throughout antiquity, religion has occupied itself with a major role in man s life. From the time of
Adam through the present, man has ventured in countless directions to discover resolution and the
reason for life. Man has never believed, agreed, or participated in a correct manner; conversely, the
search for a truth has prevailed throughout time. Consequently, paganism has captured a large portion
of the religious scene in the search for a truth, but the Christian church joined the debate to
demonstrate what is the truth. The church accomplished this, with numerous trials, by defining and
defending the Christian worldview demonstrated by creeds, and with scripture. While paganism is
rapidly growing and influencing our American society today, we should engage it the same as the
early church because the biblical worldview and scripture are ageless and unchanging.
The early theologians were leaders of a Christian audience who came to be known as the apostolic
fathers some were men believed to have known an apostle and were trusted as being reliable and
truthful teachers. Many of these apostolic fathers fought for the faith up to their deaths as martyrs.
According to Roger Olson, they created Christian theology by protecting the faith; they came to be
that bridge between Christian thinkers who argue the faith reasonably and even philosophically, and
Christian thinkers who saw doing so as a dangerous endeavor. Numerous church fathers attempted to
show the similarities

John Stuart Mill And Plato
Throughout history, many philosophers have argued different ideas about government, but only a few
have discussed women s roles in government and society. Two great thinkers John Stuart Mill and
Plato, are apart of this small group of philosophers and have even been described as feminists. In this
essay, I will discuss the ideas of Mill and Plato that have led to their feminist epithets and whether or
not I think it is true.
Mill is considered to be one of the earliest feminists in history because of his campaign for gender
equality. In Mill s essay Subjection of Women , he argues strongly for women s rights, and gender
equality, which are the main principles of feminism. In chapter 1, Mill challenges the idea that women
are by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
[149] This argument can be refuted by using Mill s natural argument. He states that What is now
called the nature of women is an artificial thing the result of the forced repression in some directions,
unnatural stimulation in others. [152] In other words Mill is stating that the subjection of women is
something that has been ingrained in society for so long that is custom. Even the ones who are
oppressed, which are women, in this case, will even start to believe it, (which is why they might prefer
being housewives). Mill uses this argument to explain that custom is the reason for the subjection of
women and not the so called natural differences. To conclude this point, Mill argued that the
inequality of women was a relic from the past , and had no place in the modern world. [150] This
supports the notion that he was, in fact, a feminist. He believed that women should be on an equal
playing field with men and that having effectively half the human race unable to contribute to society
is a hindrance to human development . [134] Even though Mill s ideas are important to feminist texts
of the nineteenth century he still inspires feminists around the world even till this day.
In Book V of The Republic Plato discusses his ideas about women s role in his ideal state. Plato feels
that women should receive equal administrative occupations, including the rule of the city as well as
its defense. Plato may be described as

ranged from 12 months old and 14 month olds, to test how monolingual infants compare to bilingual
infants when they are advancing their associative word learning on an exact same time table. Because
bilingual infants are exposed to two groups of audible sounds and written vocabulary, some theorists

Analysis of the Free-Throw Shot
Analysis of the Free Throw Shot
When deciding about a movement to study, I thought about many, and very few interested me. Then I
decided to choose something that was very important to me.
Shooting the basketball, and more specifically the technique in performing a free throw. I thought by
looking more closely at the details of a movement I have been doing since a small child. I thought
possibly I could learn something that would give me an advantage in my shot. The application of this
particular movement is for shooting a free throw, which is a stand still uncontested shot. There are a
few rules that go with shooting a free throw, such as you have to be behind the fifteen foot line, called

This is where you want to focus on the rim and extend at the elbow, and extending at the wrist. Now to
talk about what all this really means and how you get the ball from your hand to the rim. When we do
it, we consider it to be very simple, but it is actually a very complex movement, involving many
different muscles. Many muscles are involved, some more than others. I will first talk about the ones
used the least. The shoulder girdle involves muscles that are key to the movement, but are mostly used
in stabilization of the shoulder. The Trapezius and the Rhomboid muscles are stabilizers of the
shoulder along with the rotator cuff muscles including the Supraspinatis, Infraspinatis, Teres Minor,
and Subscapularis which provide dynamic stability of the shoulder. All these muscles are key, but are
not involved much in the actual movement. The Serratus Anterior is commonly used in movements
drawing the scapula forward with slight upward rotation, and would be used in shooting the basketball
and works in conjunction with Pectoralis Minor. Now we will get into some of the muscles actually
doing the work when shooting the free throw. The Deltoid, which is one of the most important
muscles involved in any shoulder movement is responsible for the movement of the Humerus. Any
movement of the Humerus will involve the Deltoid. The Coracobrachialis assist in flexion of the
shoulder. Other muscles involved in the cocking phase of

Is American Football Better Than Rugby
American Football is better than Rugby because in Football there are four chances to get a first down
and run down the field to get a touchdown and makes the game more exciting when the teams try to
get a first down and it makes players able to make amazing plays.
American Football is a game where there are two teams with an offense, who are trying to score a
touchdown by either running the ball, or throwing the ball into the endzone to get a touchdown while
the defense are trying to stop them. The objective of the game is to be the team with the most points.
The Offense has a quarterback who is trying to either throw the ball to the Wide Receiver or anyone

They are concussions, torn ACL, and more. There has been many cases that have said that all the
players that get concussions have a chance of getting mental issues.
American Football resulted from different changes to a Soccer match in Britain. It came from the
multiple rule changes from Walter Camp (Father of Football) a student from Yale University. Along
with the rule changes came the line of scrimmage and the down distance. Along with a couple other
guys, Camp helped create the forward pass play. The first pro football can be traced back to 1892 with
Allegheny Athletic Association and being renamed to the National Football League in 1920.
Rugby is a sport where the objective is to carry or kick the ball towards the other team s goal. This is
called a try. One team can run forward and only pass the ball backwards and sideways. The play can
keep going on if someone is tackled, either they throw it or they pass the ball to one of their
teammates. The attacking has a total of six tackles before a possession is changed. Ball control is
important because if someone fumbles, when someone drops a ball while it is in play, it automatically

team at RVI blinded about the treatment.
The patients haemoglobin and other parameters will be monitored by the blinded medical
team, the blood transfusion threshold will be Hb 8.0 mg/dl (as per institution policy).
Estimated blood loss will be calculated based on Hb drop, number of units of transfusion
using formula. Blood loss = Preop Hb (Postop Hb + Units Transfused) {where 1 unit = 315 mls}.
Primary outcome
The patients will be monitored until discharge and number of units of blood transfusion
starting from intra operative period will be recorded. Our aim is to investigate if tranexamic
acid reduces the rate intraoperative of post operative blood transfusion.
Secondary outcome
In addition, we will also document length of stay, compare mobility status in both groups,
estimate blood loss, identify the incidence on new vascular event (MI, CVA, PE, DVT) and
death.
Further the vascular events will be confirmed by teats objectively and by medical specialists.
Mycocardial infarction will be diagnosed by ECG changes, Troponin I levels and confirmed
physician review. The pulmonary embolism will be confirmed by CT pulmonary angiogram,
ECG and chest X ray. The deep vein thrombosis will be confirmed by ultrasound Doppler

Best Practices of Network Sercurity Essay
Best Practices for Network Security
Networking is part of our everyday lives now. Weather is us using our phones, computer, using GPS
for directions, watching 3D movies and TV s or in our work environments. Network Security has
become search a big issue since our day to day live started to be more involve with us. These
problems involve in all type of shapes and forms where some of these issues are cyber attacks,
physical attacks, or abuse of policies. People are really exposed due to the amount of internet activities
we have going on in most of our networks. There are two fundamentally different when it comes to
networking, the data networks and the synchronous network comprised of switches. With that being

Also one has to know what type of network has been worked on, what network topologies the security
is going on. The ring topology is going to be different from a bus or star topology. The hybrid is going
to be different from the mesh topology or even wireless, this can be one of the hardest networks to
protect. Also one has to think about size when it comes to building a network. Most people most of the
time can t tell the different between a big network and a small network. Big networks mostly consist
of multiple several servers, computers and other device which connects to the network from the
outside. All these devices need to be protected or secured when it s connected to the internet and the
network. Big networks are used mostly in bigger institution and organization where by 30 or more
computers and server are used and are all linked to the network. Also speed is a factor when it comes
to the internet networks but most importantly it s important to bigger institutions and companies.
Policy is one thing that most organization needs because if they want their network and the use of
internet to be secured. Policies have to cover all aspect that the network is in. There has to be a lot of
thought put in and all devices and how they connect to the outside world has to be considered. Small
networks sometimes don t have benefits and the down fall bigger networks have. Although speed is a
factor, one

The Causes Of The Industrial Strike In 1900 s Industrial
In Chicago, on May 4, 1886, a riot broke out between German born labor radicals and Chicago law
enforcement officers. The demonstration, organized to protest the killing of a striker by the Chicago
police the day before and for an eight hour workday, attracted about One thousand five hundred
protestors. However, when the riot began there were only approximately three hundred protestors left
due to rain. About half way through the rally, two hundred Chicago policemen arrived to end the
protest. The riot started when an unknown individual threw a bomb at the police officers. The crowd
of officers then opened fire on the protestors, killing over twelve and injuring almost one hundred.
About suspects were convicted and their sentences ranged from fifteen years in prison to life in prison
to execution. The events that took place in Chicago, on May 4, 1886 were horrible, clearly
demonstrating the importance of peacefully protesting and that the U.S. government should not

Netflix is an American company that provides video rental and on demand video streaming by way of

when Reed Hastings was charged with a late fee when renting a movie and he questioned why he

Brisket Persuasive Speech
With all other foods, there s a right way and a wrong way. With brisket, there s only my way.
Psychotherapist and top brisket maker Phyllis Cohen. Those are some good words to sum up brisket,
because everyone thinks the way do it is the way. In my family smoking is a tradition, we ve been
doing it for about 5 years me and my dad but we do have a little history in it. We use a great blend of
savory spice to make the brisket have the best flavor it can possibly have. But the most important start
to the whole process is selecting the right brisket. A good brisket should have a nice fat cap in the top,
and should have a very good marble to the meat. If not your brisket will be as dry as a shoes leather.
After selecting the most prime brisket it s time to get down to my favorite part. It s prep time, this is
even more key than selecting the brisket. What you need to do now is take the fat cap that is about ½
inch thick and cut that down to roughly ¼ to and ⅛ inch. But this is all dependent on your liking and
what you think. Now that you have trimmed up the fat cap you need to move on the the deckle. The
deckle is a thick layer of fat that runs between the point and the flat. This will not render with a little

Personification And Symbolism In The Raven By Edgar Allen Poe
The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe, is a poem in which the narrator is in a spell of depression likely due to
the sudden and tragic death of his lover. Within the first few lines, it becomes apparent that he is
missing somebody, when he says Lenore constantly while waiting at the door. As his wait comes to an
end, he begins to hear a similar tapping sound coming from his window, once he opens the window a
raven comes into his room. It is here that the narrator begins to ask the raven questions, for which he
will only receive the same answer and in return increase his frustration. Apart from the apparent
frustration and depression of the narrator, there are two key literary devices of the poem that play a
significant role in the revealing of themes. The first is personification, which is the act of giving
inanimate items human traits, such as crying and laughing. Then comes symbolism, which can be
referred to as using a tangible object to represent something else. In The Raven , Poe uses
personification and symbolism to explore how humans can bring misery upon themselves. Throughout
the poem, personification occurs at various points and helps intensify the dark and haunting
atmosphere, which seems to be growing around the narrator. For instance, in the second stanza the
narrator says, And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. This is an example of
personification solely because ghosts are usually formed by anything that was alive, whereas an ember
is a mere inanimate object bound to last only a couple of minutes to a couple of hours. Other than the
example of a dying ember in stanza two, there is yet another example of personification in the second
stanza. And that example being, This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, Lenore! For
something to murmur, it must have a voice and within the room there was no one else besides the
narrator. Although there was no other human besides the narrator in the room, there was the raven who
was still outside, which in return increased the overall spookiness of the room. For it could ve been the
raven who murmured. Upon hearing Lenore the depressed lover lost his somewhat stable state of
mind. In addition to these two examples

Keating is a deeply flawed character who is simply riveting; you can t take your eyes off of the
powerful woman as she is on screen. She holds an appearance of a woman who gets what she wants,
but as the show progresses, viewers see that she can fall apart, especially in matters that involve her
relationship with her husband. He was barely able to get into law school, being accepted off the school
s wait list, but he later proves to be a natural born leader in law and murder. He is one of the few
characters who truly makes the show interesting with his funny and witty comebacks. Michaela Pratt,
a smart young woman who does everything in her power to impress Keating and serves as Connor s
competition. Her character makes us hate her and feel pity towards her as she crumbles and falls apart

that make her boring character more interesting. Asher Millstone, another one of Annalise s law

Christian Worldview Research Paper
Western Civ Essay Hayden McLendon A worldview is one s presuppositions and values that a person
tries to use to understand the world around them. A presupposition affects how we believe and reflect
on how we view Politics, Science, and our ethics. A Christian world view helps us to interpret God,
Jesus, ideas, beliefs, convictions, and our habits of the world. The cool thing is that everyone has a
worldview whether they think it or not there isn t such a think as worldview neutral because believing
in not worldview is a worldview. God says in Matthew 12:30 Whoever is not with me is against me,
and whoever does not gather with me scatters and in Luke 9:50 Do not stop him, for whoever is not
against you is for you so being for God is follow his holy world the bible. So, when we read the bible
it says, That everything you do in the name of Lord Jesus, Giving thanks to God The Father through
him . A Christian worldview affects our economics, history, and actions. When we think about
economics we think money. But by keeping your life free from the love of money, and being content

Female And Female Roles And Social Factors
Until the 1970s, sex was known as or related to being a male or either a female. It was also referred as
the sex roles, sex differences or sex changer operation. People saw gender as being masculine and
feminine in certain cultures, like the French and Spanish. Now people see sex in two ways, either in
the biological way or the social factors. Johnson explains the differences between the biological way
and the social factors and the meaning of a male and female has changed over time and differ by
culture. Female and male roles was established by cultural and biological factors by people around the
world. It also has to do with the way people were brought up by parents and society as a whole. An
early feminist named Mary Wollstonecraft wrote a treatise called Vindication of the Rights of Woman.
She wrote this arguing that woman and men are basically equal. They may be different biologically,
but when it comes to the roles of each one they are the same. She also stated that the roles of society
was brought on by society and they aren t biologically determined (Ojeda 14). Gender has played a
role in my life in so many ways. I was always told that by older woman and some males that girls are
supposed to be seen, not heard. I always wondered what that meant until I got to a certain age. They
meant that females are supposed to be loving, caring, and quiet and shouldn t draw attention to
themselves. I was always taught in my history classes that males and females have

Reflective Essay About Self Reflection
During the Fall semester of 2017 at SUNY New Paltz, you took a course called Intermediate
Composition, and for this course we had an temporal theme, which was What does it mean to be
human in the digital landscape of 2017. Through this we took part in several projects consisting of
recording our digital technology usage throughout a 24 hour period, refraining from technology for 24
hours, and also a research paper which posed a question regarding our technology and how we are
using it. We used the popular TV show Black Mirror to reference from, as it expresses what could
happen if we become too addicted to certain technologies. Technology, although beneficial, can prove
to harm us if we use it too much. Technology serves us with entertainment, information, and services,
but if we rely on it too much we can become seemingly lost of our humanity. This is essentially our
goal of the course, as we studied several different aspects. Through our research, I found that I
typically rely on my technology for 2 main things, school and entertainment. I found myself spending
around 6 hours per day using my devices in total, including my cell phone, xbox, and television. This
didn t surprise me as I honestly expected to be on my devices more often. It should be noted that I
conducted this research on a day in which I had to attend my internship, rendering myself tech less for
a portion of the day. If it were a normal day, I could likely expect myself on my technology a much
larger portion, and this should be considered in the future. As technology grows to be more prevalent,
we should grow more wary of it. We haven t experienced a change so massive in our lives, as
technology plays a role in nearly every aspect of our lives currently. Imagine life in 10 years, or even
in 20 years when you read this. Times will change, technology evolves rapidly, and we need to be
careful of how we embrace and implement these new devices into our lives. We also frequently
referenced the show Black Mirror. This shows main focus is of what technology can do to us if we
rely on it too much. One episode that really spoke to me was Nosedive, season 3, episode 1. This
episode focuses on social media, and your ranking in society. Everybody

The Use Of Meth On The Black Market And Manufacture It For...
To meet the ever increasing demand for this drug, users have found a way to reproduce meth on the
black market and manufacture it for sale. It is mostly produced in illegal facilities all over the country
and the world, that have dangerous conditions. These black market type facilities are known as Meth
production labs. The chemicals used to reproduce the drugs can kill people if it explodes. It can cause
damage to surrounding buildings and even hurt innocent people around them that live nearby. In most
recent years, moving mobile meth labs are used on the street to reproduce this drug, in cars, trucks and
other vehicles to hide their illegal growing activities.
The easy process of making and producing Methamphetamine is a simple process, when compared to
the manufacturing and growing of other recreational drugs. It is more popular among many groups of
people as the drug of choice to reproduce all over the nation and the world. As a result of the
popularity of meth production, local, state and national governments along with drug task forces work
around the clock, non stop to keep up on the crackdown of meth production and to shut down these
illegal meth labs that will produce and ship this particular drug. With impacts that can be particularly
damaging to human life, drug task forces and government agencies have a war on their hands and it
seems like it is getting out of hand as they try to fight against this daily. With almost 11 million

integrity, and accountability. The difficult part is translating that specifically to the area of statistics.

Persuasive Essay On Art Theft
Research Paper The Nazis hid, destroyed and plundered thousands of pieces of art and literature; the
number is so high that experts cannot accurately estimate the amount of art stolen. The art theft,
instigated by the Nazis under Hitler s order, began six years before the second World War had even
started ( Documents Region, City, and Countryside 1). In response to the growing number of artwork
being stolen and destroyed, special commissions were formed to protect the art. The Nazis plundering
and destroying art was beneficial in the way that it united countless people from all over the world
against the destruction of the priceless art, which led to the creation of international art protection
programs and gained funding and support from the public and the government. Adolf Hitler, before he
began the notorious German regime in 1919, had aspirations to be an artist. He applied to the Vienna
Academy of Fine Arts in 1907; his aspirations to become an artist did not become a reality as his
application to the art school was rejected. This motivated his hatred towards degenerate art, a type of
art that was described as modern; Hitler was known to describe it as Jewish or communist in nature.
Hitler pushed the classical art ideal, in which the only type of art allowed to be showcased in museums
were classical pieces from artists such as Phidias and Picasso (Campbell 1). As the German regime

The Philosophy Of The Bible Essay
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of thy womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand
of a warrior are the children of one s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! (Psalm
127:3 5, English Standard Version) Foundation for Discipline Parenting children can be a joy and a
challenge. Parenting is not for wimps. Most parents desire to raise their children as a productive
member of our society. In able to successfully do this, parents that identify themselves as believers
need to study the bible and determine how to biblically discipline. The bible needs to be their
foundation. There are several verses throughout scripture that discuss discipline. Whoever spares the
rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him. (Proverb 13:24, English Standard
Version) Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
(Proverb 22:15, English Standard Version) Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him
with a rod, he will not die. (Proverb 23:13, English Standard Version) Discipline your son, and he will
give you rest; he will give delight to your heart. (Proverb 29:17, English Standard Version) Fathers, do
not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Prayer In Public Schools Research Paper
If we lived in the 20th century, before you started reading this paper, you would have had to recite a
prayer with your students. It is surprising to realize that our country once forced students to say a
prayer everyday before they started school. For a while, there were no complaints about this.
However, as our country started to progress, people began to see the problem with it. People who
opposed prayer in public school believed it was unconstitutional. Those who supported prayer in
school believed it had an influence on students by reminding them of their faith. These problems were
taken to court, where they took away prayer in public schools. Although they took out prayer from

Their reasons for this are that it is unconstitutional and that individual prayer is already legal. Their
reasons are very strong, because they are backed up by amendments that our country was founded on.
Even though some their points are strong, they do have some fallacies. Their reasons seem to be a
slippery slope. A slippery slope is like sliding down a slope you cannot stop (Halpern, 2015). They are
assuming that if the government allowed prayer in public schools, then the government would be
supporting only that certain religion. They also seem to have circular reasoning. Their reason of The
Establishment Clause and separation of church and state both end with the fact that the government
cannot force prayer in school is restating the conclusion.
The issue of prayer in public school seems to have been solved by the government taking away prayer.
But, as we have seen, there are still problems with both sides of the argument. One side of the
argument appeals to tradition and the other has circular reasoning. Religion is something that is very
important to some people. It should remain important to them, but there is a proper time and place to
practice worship. Worship should not be in a public place where education is the priority. The
government should have no involvement, directly or indirectly, with

After the financial crisis in 1998 and the decrease of imported ice cream, the market offered good
opportunities for new domestic entrants. They often already owned the facilities where they produced
for example frozen food and so it was relatively easy to change to ice cream production. With the
needed assets they already possessed they did not face economies of scale and high initial costs as
barrier to entry. And the new regional producers try to compete with the product differentiation by

coming from established competitors in the industry. Ice Fili s fiercest competitors were international

Cognitive Stage Of Middle Childhood Development
Family Dynamics Anthony Darey Argosy University Cognitive Stage of Middle Childhood The 1970
s was my era of middle childhood development. This was still a time of turmoil and racial inequality.
Being a black child gave me few advantages growing up during this time. I attended decent schools,
lived in a middle class neighborhood, and was socially active. I was a nerd, but not in the best sense of
the word. I was smart but I was lazy. School was boring to me. I knew the work, but I did not want to
do the work. This fact was related back to my parents via my teachers ( grades 6th 8th). My nickname
was Tony but I was pinned as the Professor by my family. Like I said, I knew the work I just did not
do the work. The nickname made me feel good and bad at the same time. I liked the acknowledgement
that I was being recognized for being smart but I hated the fact that I was also expected to live up to
the nickname. This was also the beginning of a state of confusion and asserting my independence.

Persuasive Essay On The Benefits Of Staying Healthy
Staying Healthy
Doing anything new to your body runs (get it?) the risk of energy. But do not let that discourage you,
even if you never complete a marathon, training for it has enormous benefits for your health and if
done right, can be a great way to achieve a healthy life style. Of course though, you want to stay
healthy.
While nothing you do will 100% protect you from injury, there are many steps you can take to reduce
the risk. First, avoid doing too much too soon. If you have never ran more than 15 miles a week in
your life, don t start with a training plan that has you doing 30. Also, avoid plans that have you jump
to high mileage very quickly, remember the 10% rule mentioned earlier.
Second, avoid doing multiple hard days in a row, each hard day should be followed by an easy day. In
marathon training as with all other types of physical training, your body needs time to recover, not just
so you feel better, but to absorb all the benefits of the hard work you put in. Without recovery days,
you are wasting your own hard work.
Third, training for a marathon should not solely involve running. To be a successful runner, take a
couple leaves out of the books of the elites. Pick up a foam roller and a stretching band from your
local running store, learn how to use them, and use them repeatedly. Ideally you stretch
comprehensively after every run and also do a light stretch when you wake up and before you go to
bed. This will go a long way to keeping you healthy.

the victim is White, which happens a lot too, just not as often per population but more often by
number. Does that make all the White people abused in the system disappear because they are greater
in number but less by census? Of course it does not. A person is a person. If another person of another

Physical Therapy For The Rehabilitation Process

Physical therapy is the treatment of deformity, injury, or disease by healthcare professionals, physical

improve their movement so that they are able to manage their pain. Physical therapy is an active

Patient examination in physical therapy includes measures such as strength, flexibility, range of
motion, motor function, and quality of life. After all of this has been done, a physical therapist uses
clinical reasoning to determine what is wrong with the patient and what should be done to help the
patient improve. He uses the gathered information to develop an individualized care plan for each
patient, indicating the patient s short and long term goals and expected outcomes as a result of the
therapy sessions (U.S. Bureau, 2015).
Once the plan has been established, the therapist works with his patient using stretches, exercises, and
hands on therapy to help alleviate pain, increase mobility, and prevent further injury. The therapist
evaluates and tracks the patient s progress and modifies the plan by trying new treatments when
needed. A physical therapist must be able to communicate well with patients, families, and other
healthcare professionals and must be able to show integrity and compassion for his patients. Another
important aspect of a physical therapist s job is to teach his patients appropriate ways to perform
certain tasks so that further injury does not occur, promoting future health and wellness (U.S. Bureau,

Argumentative Essay On Music Education
One of my biggest passions in life has been advocating for music education. This takes after my father
who does this for a living. Defending why music education is important is oddly a very difficult task.
The issue with this topic, is that there is no real argument saying that the arts are not important.
However, when it comes down to budget cuts and funding the arts always seem to get the boot first.
There are plenty of ways to effectively defend music education, yet so many people take the wrong
pathway and preach what they think the general public wants to hear. People will express how taking
music classes helps with test scores and overall GPA, when in reality this is not why we should be
defending why music is important. My project serves to help other music advocates truly understand
why this argument is ineffective. Do not get me wrong, the studies have proven how music can
positively affect the brain and that music students tend to do better on standardized testing. This is a
phenomenal discovery that was only proven to be true a few years ago. However, people are using this
fact as their main argument and people who are not affiliated with the arts are getting this perception
that music is only important to help with test scores. Recently, music was defined as a core subject.
When people believe that music is only important because it helps with test scores that is the
equivalent of saying that effective writing class is only useful to help with writing scientific
conclusions. We live in a test driven society where students are measured by a number on a test rather
than what they have to offer outside of the classroom. There are an abundance of examples when
people have come up to defend music education by explaining how much it helps with test scores.
One of the most iconic articles was done by PBS (Public Broadcasting Station). PBS released an
article with the benefits of music and the first comment in the article was, Research has found that
learning music facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in
other areas. (Insert Cite) At first glance someone would perceive this as a correct and effective
argument. But in reality it is vague, confusing and

  • 2. Solidarity Movement And Polish Revolution On May 7th, 2011, United States President Barack Obama made a speech in which he asked the Arab Spring nations in transition to democracy to use Poland as a role model . However, Central Europe and the Middle East are different linguistically, religiously, and historically. Was there any actual basis for President Obama s comparison? Or was this speech another instance of a politician making a grand generalization to prove a point? Upon further examination, both Poland s Solidarity movement and Tunisia s Jasmine Revolution acted as catalysts for democratization in their respective regions. This is because they both started as economic movements, and then evolved into social movements, which became democratization attempts. In addition, both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Eventually, the workers themselves began to organize and publicly demand rights. The last group in Polish society who was responsible for achieving success in the Solidarity movement was the religious sector. The religious support that the Solidarity movement possessed cannot be overlooked. On the protestor s side, it s easy to fight for your rights when you know that God supports you. On the other hand, it s difficult for the government to fight against a religious institution that has such powerful influence over the people. Pope John Paul II, originally a Polish citizen named Karol Wojtyla, played a key role in not only broadcasting the Solidarity movement to the world, but also by giving the Solidarity movement a pseudo divine right to exist . In 1978, Karol Wojtyla was elected to be the first non Italian pope since the 1500s . Thus began the attention that he drew not only from the international Catholic community, but the international community in general. Furthermore, in his visit to Poland, he affirmed the Polish people s right to organize themselves, and to protest against their mistreatment. In 1979, the year before Solidarity was officially formed, Pope John Paul II visited his home country once again and gave speeches concerning civil rights in Poland. The International Center on Nonviolent Conflict states, During a pilgrimage that was broadcast on state TV and radio, the Pope spoke openly about human rights and the right to freedom of expression and conscience . CNN confirms this statement and adds to it, stating that the Pope s support was financial, as well. In discussing the fall of communism in Poland, it claims, It took time; it took the Pope s support from Rome some of it financial; it took several more trips in 1983 and 1987. But the flame was lit. It would smolder and flicker before it burned from one end of Poland ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Moganism And The Christian Beliefs Of Christianity And... Throughout antiquity, religion has occupied itself with a major role in man s life. From the time of Adam through the present, man has ventured in countless directions to discover resolution and the reason for life. Man has never believed, agreed, or participated in a correct manner; conversely, the search for a truth has prevailed throughout time. Consequently, paganism has captured a large portion of the religious scene in the search for a truth, but the Christian church joined the debate to demonstrate what is the truth. The church accomplished this, with numerous trials, by defining and defending the Christian worldview demonstrated by creeds, and with scripture. While paganism is rapidly growing and influencing our American society today, we should engage it the same as the early church because the biblical worldview and scripture are ageless and unchanging. The early theologians were leaders of a Christian audience who came to be known as the apostolic fathers some were men believed to have known an apostle and were trusted as being reliable and truthful teachers. Many of these apostolic fathers fought for the faith up to their deaths as martyrs. According to Roger Olson, they created Christian theology by protecting the faith; they came to be that bridge between Christian thinkers who argue the faith reasonably and even philosophically, and Christian thinkers who saw doing so as a dangerous endeavor. Two great thinkers John Stuart Mill and Plato, are apart of this small group of philosophers and have even been described as feminists. In this essay, I will discuss the ideas of Mill and Plato that have led to their feminist epithets and whether or not I think it is true. Mill is considered to be one of the earliest feminists in history because of his campaign for gender equality. In Mill s essay Subjection of Women , he argues strongly for women s rights, and gender equality, which are the main principles of feminism. In chapter 1, Mill challenges the idea that women are by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [149] This argument can be refuted by using Mill s natural argument. He states that What is now called the nature of women is an artificial thing the result of the forced repression in some directions, unnatural stimulation in others. [152] In other words Mill is stating that the subjection of women is something that has been ingrained in society for so long that is custom. Even the ones who are oppressed, which are women, in this case, will even start to believe it, (which is why they might prefer being housewives). Mill uses this argument to explain that custom is the reason for the subjection of women and not the so called natural differences. To conclude this point, Mill argued that the inequality of women was a relic from the past , and had no place in the modern world. [150] This supports the notion that he was, in fact, a feminist. He believed that women should be on an equal playing field with men and that having effectively half the human race unable to contribute to society is a hindrance to human development . [134] Even though Mill s ideas are important to feminist texts of the nineteenth century he still inspires feminists around the world even till this day. In Book V of The Republic Plato discusses his ideas about women s role in his ideal state. Plato feels that women should receive equal administrative occupations, including the rule of the city as well as its defense. Plato may be described as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will first talk about the ones used the least. The shoulder girdle involves muscles that are key to the movement, but are mostly used in stabilization of the shoulder. The Trapezius and the Rhomboid muscles are stabilizers of the shoulder along with the rotator cuff muscles including the Supraspinatis, Infraspinatis, Teres Minor, and Subscapularis which provide dynamic stability of the shoulder. • 20. Personification And Symbolism In The Raven By Edgar Allen Poe The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe, is a poem in which the narrator is in a spell of depression likely due to the sudden and tragic death of his lover. Within the first few lines, it becomes apparent that he is missing somebody, when he says Lenore constantly while waiting at the door. As his wait comes to an end, he begins to hear a similar tapping sound coming from his window, once he opens the window a raven comes into his room. It is here that the narrator begins to ask the raven questions, for which he will only receive the same answer and in return increase his frustration. Apart from the apparent frustration and depression of the narrator, there are two key literary devices of the poem that play a significant role in the revealing of themes. The first is personification, which is the act of giving inanimate items human traits, such as crying and laughing. Then comes symbolism, which can be referred to as using a tangible object to represent something else. In The Raven , Poe uses personification and symbolism to explore how humans can bring misery upon themselves. Throughout the poem, personification occurs at various points and helps intensify the dark and haunting atmosphere, which seems to be growing around the narrator. For instance, in the second stanza the narrator says, And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. This is an example of personification solely because ghosts are usually formed by anything that was alive, whereas an ember is a mere inanimate object bound to last only a couple of minutes to a couple of hours. Other than the example of a dying ember in stanza two, there is yet another example of personification in the second stanza. And that example being, This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, Lenore! For something to murmur, it must have a voice and within the room there was no one else besides the narrator. Although there was no other human besides the narrator in the room, there was the raven who was still outside, which in return increased the overall spookiness of the room. For it could ve been the raven who murmured. Upon hearing Lenore the depressed lover lost his somewhat stable state of mind. In addition to these two examples ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Reflective Essay About Self Reflection During the Fall semester of 2017 at SUNY New Paltz, you took a course called Intermediate Composition, and for this course we had an temporal theme, which was What does it mean to be human in the digital landscape of 2017. Through this we took part in several projects consisting of recording our digital technology usage throughout a 24 hour period, refraining from technology for 24 hours, and also a research paper which posed a question regarding our technology and how we are using it. We used the popular TV show Black Mirror to reference from, as it expresses what could happen if we become too addicted to certain technologies. Technology, although beneficial, can prove to harm us if we use it too much. Technology serves us with entertainment, information, and services, but if we rely on it too much we can become seemingly lost of our humanity. This is essentially our goal of the course, as we studied several different aspects. Through our research, I found that I typically rely on my technology for 2 main things, school and entertainment. I found myself spending around 6 hours per day using my devices in total, including my cell phone, xbox, and television. This didn t surprise me as I honestly expected to be on my devices more often. It should be noted that I conducted this research on a day in which I had to attend my internship, rendering myself tech less for a portion of the day. If it were a normal day, I could likely expect myself on my technology a much larger portion, and this should be considered in the future. As technology grows to be more prevalent, we should grow more wary of it. We haven t experienced a change so massive in our lives, as technology plays a role in nearly every aspect of our lives currently. Imagine life in 10 years, or even in 20 years when you read this. Times will change, technology evolves rapidly, and we need to be careful of how we embrace and implement these new devices into our lives. We also frequently referenced the show Black Mirror. This shows main focus is of what technology can do to us if we rely on it too much. One episode that really spoke to me was Nosedive, season 3, episode 1. This episode focuses on social media, and your ranking in society. Everybody ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To meet the ever increasing demand for this drug, users have found a way to reproduce meth on the black market and manufacture it for sale. The chemicals used to reproduce the drugs can kill people if it explodes. It can cause damage to surrounding buildings and even hurt innocent people around them that live nearby. In most recent years, moving mobile meth labs are used on the street to reproduce this drug, in cars, trucks and other vehicles to hide their illegal growing activities. The easy process of making and producing Methamphetamine is a simple process, when compared to the manufacturing and growing of other recreational drugs. It is more popular among many groups of people as the drug of choice to reproduce all over the nation and the world. As a result of the popularity of meth production, local, state and national governments along with drug task forces work around the clock, non stop to keep up on the crackdown of meth production and to shut down these illegal meth labs that will produce and ship this particular drug. • 32. Persuasive Essay On Art Theft Research Paper The Nazis hid, destroyed and plundered thousands of pieces of art and literature; the number is so high that experts cannot accurately estimate the amount of art stolen. The art theft, instigated by the Nazis under Hitler s order, began six years before the second World War had even started ( Documents Region, City, and Countryside 1). In response to the growing number of artwork being stolen and destroyed, special commissions were formed to protect the art. The Nazis plundering and destroying art was beneficial in the way that it united countless people from all over the world against the destruction of the priceless art, which led to the creation of international art protection programs and gained funding and support from the public and the government. Adolf Hitler, before he began the notorious German regime in 1919, had aspirations to be an artist. He applied to the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts in 1907; his aspirations to become an artist did not become a reality as his application to the art school was rejected. This motivated his hatred towards degenerate art, a type of art that was described as modern; Hitler was known to describe it as Jewish or communist in nature. Hitler pushed the classical art ideal, in which the only type of art allowed to be showcased in museums were classical pieces from artists such as Phidias and Picasso (Campbell 1). Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! (Psalm 127:3 5, English Standard Version) Foundation for Discipline Parenting children can be a joy and a challenge. Parenting is not for wimps. Most parents desire to raise their children as a productive member of our society. In able to successfully do this, parents that identify themselves as believers need to study the bible and determine how to biblically discipline. The bible needs to be their foundation. There are several verses throughout scripture that discuss discipline. Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him. It is surprising to realize that our country once forced students to say a prayer everyday before they started school. For a while, there were no complaints about this. However, as our country started to progress, people began to see the problem with it. People who opposed prayer in public school believed it was unconstitutional. Their reasons for this are that it is unconstitutional and that individual prayer is already legal. Their reasons seem to be a slippery slope. A slippery slope is like sliding down a slope you cannot stop (Halpern, 2015). They are assuming that if the government allowed prayer in public schools, then the government would be supporting only that certain religion. They also seem to have circular reasoning. Their reason of The Establishment Clause and separation of church and state both end with the fact that the government cannot force prayer in school is restating the conclusion. The issue of prayer in public school seems to have been solved by the government taking away prayer. But, as we have seen, there are still problems with both sides of the argument. One side of the argument appeals to tradition and the other has circular reasoning. Religion is something that is very important to some people. They often already owned the facilities where they produced for example frozen food and so it was relatively easy to change to ice cream production. With the needed assets they already possessed they did not face economies of scale and high initial costs as barrier to entry. This was still a time of turmoil and racial inequality. Being a black child gave me few advantages growing up during this time. I attended decent schools, lived in a middle class neighborhood, and was socially active. I was a nerd, but not in the best sense of the word. I was smart but I was lazy. School was boring to me. I knew the work, but I did not want to do the work. This fact was related back to my parents via my teachers ( grades 6th 8th). My nickname was Tony but I was pinned as the Professor by my family. Like I said, I knew the work I just did not do the work. The nickname made me feel good and bad at the same time. I liked the acknowledgement that I was being recognized for being smart but I hated the fact that I was also expected to live up to the nickname. This was also the beginning of a state of confusion and asserting my independence. Discovering just who I was and in what direction my life was going. • 39. Persuasive Essay On The Benefits Of Staying Healthy Staying Healthy Doing anything new to your body runs (get it?) the risk of energy. But do not let that discourage you, even if you never complete a marathon, training for it has enormous benefits for your health and if done right, can be a great way to achieve a healthy life style. Of course though, you want to stay healthy. While nothing you do will 100% protect you from injury, there are many steps you can take to reduce the risk. First, avoid doing too much too soon. If you have never ran more than 15 miles a week in your life, don t start with a training plan that has you doing 30. Also, avoid plans that have you jump to high mileage very quickly, remember the 10% rule mentioned earlier. Second, avoid doing multiple hard days in a row, each hard day should be followed by an easy day. In marathon training as with all other types of physical training, your body needs time to recover, not just so you feel better, but to absorb all the benefits of the hard work you put in. Without recovery days, you are wasting your own hard work. Third, training for a marathon should not solely involve running. To be a successful runner, take a couple leaves out of the books of the elites. Pick up a foam roller and a stretching band from your local running store, learn how to use them, and use them repeatedly. Ideally you stretch comprehensively after every run and also do a light stretch when you wake up and before you go to bed. This will go a long way to keeping you healthy. ... • 43. Argumentative Essay On Music Education One of my biggest passions in life has been advocating for music education. This takes after my father who does this for a living. Defending why music education is important is oddly a very difficult task. The issue with this topic, is that there is no real argument saying that the arts are not important. However, when it comes down to budget cuts and funding the arts always seem to get the boot first. There are plenty of ways to effectively defend music education, yet so many people take the wrong pathway and preach what they think the general public wants to hear. People will express how taking music classes helps with test scores and overall GPA, when in reality this is not why we should be defending why music is important. My project serves to help other music advocates truly understand why this argument is ineffective. Do not get me wrong, the studies have proven how music can positively affect the brain and that music students tend to do better on standardized testing. This is a phenomenal discovery that was only proven to be true a few years ago. However, people are using this fact as their main argument and people who are not affiliated with the arts are getting this perception that music is only important to help with test scores. Recently, music was defined as a core subject. When people believe that music is only important because it helps with test scores that is the equivalent of saying that effective writing class is only useful to help with writing scientific conclusions. We live in a test driven society where students are measured by a number on a test rather than what they have to offer outside of the classroom. There are an abundance of examples when people have come up to defend music education by explaining how much it helps with test scores. One of the most iconic articles was done by PBS (Public Broadcasting Station). PBS released an article with the benefits of music and the first comment in the article was, Research has found that learning music facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas.
