Child s Ability Of Conservative Thought
Homework Assignment #2 Jean Pigiat, a Swiss psychologist and philosopher, theorized that children
all go through cognitive developmental stages. These stages differed by age as well as cognitive
reasoning. The Sensorimotor Stage, 0 2 years, focused on the child s ability or lack of rather to
understand object permanence. The second stage, described as the Preoperational Stage, focused on
children of the spanning the ages of 2 7 years old. In this group the children understood object
permanence however could not transform those images or ideas in their mind. The Concrete
Operations stage occurred between the ages of 7 and 11 years old and was defined by the child s
ability of conservative thought. These children developed the capacity to ... Show more content on

If you were to try to explain it to them, the child may become frustrated and angry as their stage may
not allow that concept. As any parent can attest, children at the age of three all have one distinct
personality trait in common; ego. They are completely egocentric and are unable to understand the
needs of others because it does not relate to their own. A child at this age may look at their own plate
at dinner and see a full plate. Then, gazing upon another, notice it not as full as their own. Since their
own needs have been met, the child will assume that the needs of others have also been taken care of.
Another example of this egocentric personality is during a movie when the child is jumping from seat
to seat. While they can see the screen, other movie goers may not. Building on this egocentric
behavior, the child may also exhibit bad behavior to achieve attention. By throwing tantrums, crying
and getting hurt she will be doted on and her ego will be sustained until she desires more attention.
The child may also show separation anxiety if her parents are away. Her thought process would not
allow her to understand that, although she is of the utmost of importance to her family, they may have
other obligations. This anxiety could overwhelm her with thoughts of being abandoned and never
seeing her family again. Today, Piaget s theories remain valuable however those that came after are

The Piano Lesson, By August Wilson
In The Piano Lesson, by August Wilson, Berniece struggles with her personal connection with the
piano. Her families past reveal her relationship with the piano. The piano meant a lot of things to a lot
of different people over the years. The piano is a complex and multilayers symbol; its meanings are
both personal and political. For example, Berniece was affected by the piano positively and
negatively. She had a sentimental connection with it and never wanted to get rid of it. But the piano
had a lot of history behind it and it also carries a lot of meaning to it. Berniece stopped playing the
piano for a while because of all the spirits inside of it and how they started to haunt other people.
Berniece saw Boy Willie getting attacked by Sutter s ghost and that made her realize she needs to let
go of the past and play the piano again. But what was ironic is that she tried her best to forget the
family history that came with the piano, she can never let go of her families past no matter what she
does. This reveals that people should come to good terms with their past and learn to overcome it.
The piano affected her positively because Berniece liked playing the piano. She would play it all the
time for Mama Ola and her daughter learned how to play it as well. It affected her negatively because
it had a gruesome past. Bernieces family would die over that piano. For example, Boy Charles died in
the boxcars in a fire after the piano was found missing. After this tragedy, the piano

Answer A: Business model entails many facets. To narrow down the meaning of business model, it
refers to the way businesses intend to create products to sell and to generate revenue in a particular

Oxygen During Exercises
When i exercised my heart beat faster, this is in order to speed up the transport of blood in the
cardiovascular system. This is because as the muscles begin to work harder during the exercise they
will need more oxygen, and glucose and nutrients in order to give the muscles energy as they work
harder. This also means that they produce more carbon dioxide as they use up the oxygen so the heart
must also pump the blood to the lungs faster in order to get the carbon dioxide out of the body and to
exchange it for more oxygen.
You could test this by testing how much oxygen and carbon dioxide someone breaths when they rest
and when they exercise in order to compare the two. My temperature during exercise also began to

Latino Music Essay
I have grown up listening to Hip Hop just as I did listening to my mother s blaring Bachata and
Merengue every Sunday morning and from what I can recall, the artists I primarily listened to were
black, or Eminem. The only Spanish rappers I did listen to were Reggaeton artists, meaning I did not
listen to many predominately English speaking Latino rappers. This revelation of my early musical
tastes begs the question as to why I was not exposed to more Latino rappers during the late nineties
and early millennium. In learning about how Latino s have participated within the realm of Hip Hop,
one learns that allow Latino s have played a major role in its foundations, the call for a strong identity
has emerged due to various group s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
African American acceptance of Latino culture stems largely from similar experiences of prejudice
and shared African roots. In addition, black hip hop has included various Latino elements, illustrating
growing acceptance and integrations between both parties. Various elements present in black hip hop
include Spanglish lyrics, rumba rhythms (Morales 300 301), and the celebration and desire for a
Latina woman, who shares similar physique to African American women (Rivera 131 132). In
examining Latino Hip Hop history, an overall theme of inclusion and exclusion emerges, where
Latinos are included if they provide something desirable and marketable and excluded due to their
ethnicity. Because of this, the need to affirm Latin identity becomes a necessity in order to solidify the
Latino presence within the genre. Latino rap takes on the Latin American experience and builds upon
to tell poetic stories of pride, unity, and discrimination throughout Latino history. This theme of being
proud of one s roots plays a central role in how Spanish speaking rappers may or may not conduct
themselves. For many, the following lyrics illustrate pride in the face of discrimination: Now what you

How Does Napoleon Use Power In Animal Farm
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world (Mandela). Napoleon
realizes this truth and takes full advantage of it early on in the story. In George Orwell s allegorical
novel Animal Farm, Napoleon seizes control of the now independent farm. He allows the pigs to be
educated and excludes the others. However, he personally educates some puppies, foreseeing them as
a powerful weapon to gain full authority over the animals and to reduce distrust that could lead to
revolt. As he continues to rule, he acquires more power and he uses it to violate and change laws so
that they best benefit him and his reign. Napoleon s main focus in ruling Animal Farm is to lead the
animals away from Animalism, and the animals lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fortunately for him, he already wields the power of education, enabling him to rise almost effortlessly
to power; With their superior knowledge it was natural that they should assume leadership (pg. 21).
This is a subtle infraction of the principles clearly stated in the commandments of Animalism.
Equality is supposed to apply to everyone and every situation, but the animals are accustomed to
having a leader, therefore, it is second nature for them to rely on a person higher than them. Sadly for
the majority of the naïve animals, the pigs ascend to power simply because the weapon of education is
pointing at them and they are found weaponless and unable to defend themselves. Animalism is turned
into an oligarchy, rule by the elite, in this case the pigs are the elite because they are more educated
than the animals. Napoleon not only wants power over the lowly farm animals, but he seeks absolute
control over the entire farm, including the remaining pigs. To do this, he again takes advantage of the
power that lies in education; He said that the education of the young was more important than
anything that could be done for those who were already grown up (pg. 26). To be a leader, it is vital

Irgages And Disadvantages Of Alternative Dispute Resolution
1) Alternative Dispute resolution or ADR refers to any sort of action that is utilize instead of a court of
action. The following are advantages to alternative dispute resolution.
One of this advantages is that it allows both parties to obtain some sort of gain because in a court of
action only party would be the beneficiary. Another benefit is that the process would not be as
bureaucratic as it would be on court of action where representatives of the company would also focus
on the case and not in the activities of the company. ADR also provides the ability for the company to
not get negative attention as matters can be keep private. Lawyer and administrative cost would be
greatly reduce because not many lawyers would be need it for negotiations. Furthermore, Alternative
Dispute resolution are often use by companies operating in international markets.
2) Negotiation, refers to the process of having the two sides come to an agreement without the help of
an externality. This could be beneficial to both parties because they can come to an agreement of their
own terms and both side win. Mediation is when a neutral authority brings both sides to the table to
help solve the dispute. Benefits to doing this process, is that the mediator can provide alternatives to
how to solve the dispute, although results are nonbinding. Arbitration is when a third party decides the
outcome of a dispute. For the winning party is an advantage because the decision in not appealable, it

Single Gender Schools
Many people believe that single gender schools have no positive effect on students, research shows
otherwise. In single gender schools there is less drama, it helps preserve culture, there are less
stereotypes, and test scores and confidence levels rise. Single gender schools have many positive
impacts, and they help students prepare for the future.
For starters there is less drama at an all girls school. Since there aren t any guys on campus, you aren t
gonna be jealous of a couple at school. Another reason there is less drama is that you aren t vying for
the guys attention. This also leads to more modesty. Loran Wilbur , who went to an all girls school
said, There was a lot less pressure for appearance at Wellesley. Girls usually just wore sweat pants and
a t shirt. Lastly you don t have to worry about how a guys gonna treat you because of how you look. A
lot of drama is based on relationships and attractions. Remove the opposite gender from the equation
and you have lessened the problem drastically.
Next off single gender schools help preserve many different cultures. In the Islamic or Muslim culture
the co ed schools are promoting illicit relationships, teenage pregnancies, dating, girlfriend boyfriend
culture, extravagance where both sexes throw their parents hard earned money on materialism and
luxurious items to attract the opposite sex (http://defence.pk/threads/co education spreading

Kurt Cobain And The Punk Rock Scene
I d rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not. Kurt Cobain was widely known as
being the lead singer and guitarist of the world famous punk band Nirvana. Not only was his band
remarkably successful in their musical endeavors but they were also a big innovator in the punk rock
scene. Kurt had early ambitions of becoming a huge success but personally did not expect to become
so widely known, so when they quickly blew up Kurt didn t know how to handle all of the

Kurt was an artistic child since the beginning, he would constantly draw and sing and play on a small
drum set. At age eight Kurt became more hateful toward all people because he felt that he didn t fit in
anywhere, and that feeling only amplified when his parents divorced. I remember feeling ashamed, for
some reason, ashamed of my parents Kurt explained in a 1993 Guitar World interview. Divorce wasn t
a common thing at the time, people just didn t split so Kurt felt that he couldn t even face some of his
friends at school anymore. He so desperately wanted the typical family life so he resented his parents
for quite a few years after that. He quickly became depressed and withdrew himself from anything
family oriented. He caused trouble at home which resulted in being kicked out by his mother. This
caused more issues with his home situation leading him to be shifted among aunts, uncles, and even
friends because after a few weeks in each place everyone wanted him to leave.
Things didn t get any easier for Kurt as the years went on. His interest in people and outlook on life
kept rapidly declining. His social influences and interests migrating towards the older kids that were
known as the scum or low lives of the school. At twelve kurt was getting wasted at his first rock
concert. My friend and I were taken by his sister to the show in Seattle, and on the way there we drank

Apple Cell Phones
The Major Event, IPhone Boom! And the Launch of Android In 2007, the remote business took a
dramatic turn. While aficionados and non endeavor clients had discovered different uses for their cell
phones than email and work, the primary capacity of such gadgets was keeping representatives inside
of scope and joined far from the work area. Cell phones were principally utilized for correspondence
and light Web searching on the train. That was all set to change when Apple declared the iPhone in
January 2007 and propelled it months after the fact in June. Apple s concept of the cell phone joined
intense sight and sound capacities with the same email and Web searching components as all different
cell phones already had. It had a huge shading showcase with a capacitive digitizer, and its client
interface was at long last finger friendly. Furthermore, dissimilar to telephones before it, the iPhone
had one and only button all over the Home button and three around its edges, two for volume up/down
and one for force/standby. Apple s versatile working framework, iOS, was still exceptionally
fundamental at the time, however it was the first look into the new, cutting edge portable cell phone
working frameworks we know and love to. This phone release started a transformation of the
perception of cellular and mobile communication, which is maybe best outlined by a quote ascribed to
Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Inc., that the phone was not just a communication tool but a way of

Welcome to the most wonderful racist world of Disney The wonderful world of Disney is synonymous
with fairy tales, adventure, and happily ever after. Disney makes dreams come true and makes us wish

which kids can learn about ethics, values and self image. The world of Disney over time has become a
persuasive form in which children can learn about the world around them. However, The world of
Disney teaches messages to children that exceed the boundaries of childhood culture. Many of Disney
movies and television shows portray people of color in stereotypical fashion and its attempt in
diversity exemplifies the ideals of colorblindness.
In the past years, Disney television shows have been trying to embody the whole concept of
multiculturalism and the idea of inclusiveness. There have been diverse representations of people of
colored as cast members in many of Disney television shows. Shows like That s so Raven and Cory in
the House are about black families with diverse casts. Diversity in cast is also seen in shows like
Wizards of Waverly place, Good Luck Charlie and Shake it Up. This racial diversity of Disney
television shows is seen as a step towards the eradication of racism and the adoption of
multiculturalism in television. This is however misleading as Disney s idea of racial diversity in their

Attempting to Pin Down a Definition of Childhood Essay
The term Childhood has always be hard to define as it will vary from each person, every person would
have experienced a childhood but how they define theirs is a different story. Childhood is the time for
children to be in school and at play, to grow strong and confident with the love and encouragement of
their family and an extended community of caring adults. (UNICEF, 2005). From a psychological
view childhood would be defined as the space between birth and attainment of adulthood; but it is far
more than that, it a special time where the child children are safe from violence, free from fear,
protected from exploitation and abuse and free to explore the treasures of life. In the UK there is no

When asked, many celebrities (sports figures, actors, musicians) state that they don t want to be role

Banduras work on social learning shown that much of learning that occurs during development is
acquired through observation and imitation. Behaviour is learned from the environment through the
process of observational learning (1977), Children observe the people around them behaving in
various ways. (1961). When this topic is brought to light many of us would agree that children learn
best from role models and choose to imitate the behaviour they desire. In today society there are
enough negative role models for children to choose from. Both adolescents and children copy the
appearances and actions of those in movies, music videos, videos and television. However, today s
society especially the media are not modelling pro social behaviour or promoting family values. Many
parents fear to think of their child imitating actions from a negative role model .
Whether the daughter or son acknowledges it or not, parents are one of the child s biggest role models

Analysis Of The Film Amalia Hernandez And Deer Dance...
Amalia Hernandez was born in 1917, and was the famous creator of Ballet Folklorico. Classical Ballet
was Hernandez s first passion, in which she started taking lessons as a young girl. Later in her life, she
decided to specialize in Native American dance. Ballet Folklorico was first founded in 1952. The
company was a huge success, and soon became the largest and most popular dance company in the
entire world. More than 60 regions of Mexico were incorporated into her performances. Amalia
Hernandez s work and style incorporated many different cultures and themes. Many dances were
fiesta themed and incorporated beautiful different colors and costumes. Fiesta theme performances
were fun and different to watch. The vibrant colors and creativity made them unique and festive. A
great deal of Mexican history was also incorporated in Hernandez s work as well. One on Hernandez s
most famous creations was named, Deer Dance of the Yaqui Indians . This dance was associated from
a Mexican tribe. It resembled a hunter hunting a deer. In the act, a male artist wore antlers, resembling
the deer the hunter was after. The text stated, The Times in 1976, Anna Kisselgoff called the dance a
deeply moving testimony to the empathy of the hunters for the hunted. The message she was trying to
get across was that this is the way one must live to survive. Also quoting, Man must kill his prey, but
he respects that prey and endows it with noble qualities.

Sister Carrie Character Analysis
In Sister Carrie, Dreiser uses very detailed descriptions of characters and their appearance. These are
not empty descriptions, each description of the clothes is so convincing that it plays with the readers
senses allowing them to visualize a dynamic cinematic picture (Stankovic 79). For example, Carrie s
total outfit consisted of a small trunk, a cheap imitation alligator skin satchel, a small lunch in a paper
box, and a yellow leather snap purse, containing her ticket, a scrap piece of paper with her sister s
address in Van Buren Street, and four dollars in money (Dreiser 1). Such a description describes a
person who is leaving in a rush with little money and only a scribbled address, but someone who longs
for more, as the imitation alligator skin satchel suggests. She wants to convey a bit of wealth in her
appearance and impression even though the bag is imitation. Each of these men become the lovers of
Carrie in the novel, and she was drawn to each of them by her impressions of their appearance, but
first impressions can be wrong and appearances can be falsely portrayed. Carrie first succumbs to
Drouet, becoming his mistress acting falsely as his wife. She is later drawn to Hurstwood because of
his appearance. When Carrie meets her lover Drouet, and later Hurstwood, she compares them,
measuring their financial situation by looking at their clothes (Stanovic 81). Notice that Carrie

Mark Twain is a pen name of Samuel Longhorne Clemens, one of the greatest novelist in the twentieth
century. As an American writer who was born in Missouri, Twain worked mainly as a printer for local
newspapers and as a riverboat pilot in his early career. Such experience provided him the setting for
two of his great works: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer(1876) and its sequel, The Adventure of
Huckleberry Finn(1885), ?the great American novel?. These two works reflected Twain?s attitude
towards slavery, civil rights and anti imperialism. His life was concluded as ?the greatest American

struggling with racism and the after effects of slavery.?By describing the change of attitude towards

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,?The Adventures of Tom Sawyer?concerns itself primarily with

that? The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn?explores critically: the problem of slavery, was mentioned
indirectly in the Tom but was directly depicted in Huckleberry by using a character: Jim.

all the chemicals and preservatives in modern foods. It restricts our diet to one similar to the way the
cavemen ate. This means eating foods that can be fished out of the river, hunted in the woods, or
gathered. Of course, most people don t hunt for their meat these days, so buying lean meat at the
grocery store will be fine, preferably meat obtained from grass fed cows. If you buy fish, make sure it s

The only differences in this recipe is the beef should be organic and grass fed. More and more stores
now are beginning to carry organic foods, including beef. Another necessary ingredient for a good
meat loaf are bread crumbs, but of course bread(or its crumbs) are not allowed in a paleo diet, so we
must come up with a substitute if this is to be an authentic paleo meatloaf. For this you could take
some oatmeal and grind it in a food processor until it mimics the consistency of bread crumbs. The
only other change from a regular meat loaf would be in the type of catsup used. A paleo eating plan
cannot include regular store bought catsup because of the high fructose corn syrup and preservatives.
So I will include a simple recipe for a concoction that will pass as home made

Romantic Love In Romeo And Juliet
Though some may simply know romantic love as an intense bond between individuals devoted to one
another, its effects in reality are not always as beautiful as the concept. Particularly when it is frowned
upon by society and the people involved also swim against the current, the consequences of this type
of love can be damaging to others outside the romance. In William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet,
the actions of the young lovers in their desire to be together not only steer the course of their lives, but
also those of their friends, families, and other citizens in the city. The unfortunate series of events
following Romeo and Juliet s choice to reach beyond traditional gender roles, a standard courtship,
and their established social networks reveal the importance of complying with these norms. By
highlighting the chaos in Verona on the path to Romeo and Juliet s eventual demise, Shakespeare
suggests that intense romantic love that threatens relationships and expectations in the established
social order leads to tragedy. From the beginning of the play, Romeo s tendency to moon over women
is not received positively by his friends. After enduring Romeo s heartbroken moping over the
unattainable Rosaline, Benvolio encourages his cousin to pursue other ladies and take some new
infection to [his] eye (1.2. 51) so that the rank poison of the old will die (1.2. 52). Shakespeare frames
Benvolio s words as disapproval of Romeo s obsession; Benvolio sees love as a

Human Drug For Treating Bacterial Infections
β lactam antibiotics have continued to be the most popular drug for treating bacterial infections since
its discovery in 1928 by Fleming and its introduction as an antibacterial agent in the early 1950.1
Most commonly used β lactam drugs today stems from the original discovery and development of
natural products from microorganisms like penicillin, cephalosporin and other β lactam based
antibiotics (Figure 1). 1,2 However, soon after its commercialization and widespread usage, β
lactamase secreting penicillin resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus were isolated.3 The
introduction of methicillin (a β lactamase insensitive semi synthetic penicillin), to curb the resistance
problem resulted in the evolution of another resistant strain known as methicillin resistant
Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).4 Figure 1: Some β lactam antibiotics
Resistance to β lactams is easy for bacteria as all β lactams shared the same mode of action, which is
the inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis by forming stable covalent adducts with the active site
serine residues of penicillin binding proteins (PBPs). The PBPS are often divided into two partitions;
the high molecular weight PBPs (HMW PBPs) and the low molecular weight PBPs (LMW PBPs). The
HMW PBPs are further divided in two classes, A and B, while the LMW PBPs are divided in four
subclasses based on their tertiary structures. Figure 2 shows the reactions between natural substrates, β
lactams and transition state analogs with the

Bhagavad Gita The Holy Book Of Hindus
Bhagavad gita the holy book of hindus, is one of the major literature work from India to the entire
mankind. Gita can be read by the people of all religions. It was narrated by Lord Krishna to prince
Arjuna in Mahabharatha. The narration happens in the battlefield of kurukshethra. Arjuna was to fight
against his cousins kauravas in the war, which he was not able to do because of family bonding, this is
when Krishna explains him the purpose of life and the way to attain eternity. In bhagavad gita Krishna
explains how the entire cycle of life works and what a person should do to attain eternity. Though the
gita was narrated 5000 years ago, it is still relevant to the modern age life of mankind and guides us to
eternity, this is explained in this thesis statement. Gita on Family bonding:
In the first chapter of gita when Arjuna hesitates to fight against his cousins, Krishna explains him
about the family bonding. He says that only when a person comes out of the family bonding and does
his duty properly he will be able to attain eternity. He explains the aim of Arjuna s birth. Arjuna was
born to fight this battle and destroy the evil. He has to see the evil in the kauravas, instead of seeing
them as his cousin brothers. Only then he can fight the evil and destroy it. Krishna clearly explains
why family bonding should not be a hurdle in doing ones duties. This is true in this current age of
mankind also. Though we don t have situations to fight war against our family members,

Advantages Of Virtual Reality Glasses
Introduction
In this project I will give you the basics information about virtual reality and virtual reality glasses. I
will tell you how it works, about its advantages and disadvantages, history and also little bit about
history.
How Do Virtual Reality Glasses Work?
Three dimensional and virtual reality glasses have polarized lenses which show two pictures, one
image per each eye and give you an illusion of CAVE environments. Technique used to enable a 3D
effect to a 2D image is called stereoscopy.
Head tracking system is added to more advanced versions of virtual reality glasses. This system is
controlled by a computer and computer sends signals to modify the pictures seen by a wearer as they

For the first fifteen years of 21st century was a rapid development of virtual reality. Computer and
mobile technologies exploded so while there was more and more products, prices were lower and
lower. Breakthrough of smartphones with 3D graphics capabilities has enabled generation of virtual
reality devices.
Health Effects
While using a virtual reality headset you might feel headache, queasiness, blurred vision or
combination of all three. Those and many side effect may be only temporary, but long term studies are
insufficient so we do not know for sure. This is reason why you should take break for ten or fifteen
minutes for every thirty minutes of use, even if you think that is not necessary.
Conclusion
Virtual reality is getting very popular. Year 2017 might be a key year in this industry. It s up to us if we
stick with just reality or go little bit virtual and enjoy its endless

Analysis Of Amazon s Amazon Essay
Amazon has outperformed every other online retailer for the past few years. There is a simple
explanation for their success. Their main strength and why consumers choose Amazon is because they
provide an excellent customer experience. They call it Customer Obsession . If a product on Amazon
is sold by or fulfilled by Amazon, the returning process is extremely simple. In my own experience
with returning products to Amazon, no matter the case, they will pay the shipping and give the
customer a full refund or a replacement for the product. This provides customers with a worry free
experience. There is absolutely no hassle if a product is defective or if the customer simply finds it
unsatisfactory.
Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO also makes it clear that technology is important to the focusing of the
customer. In Amazon s 2010 Annual Report, Bezos said, Look inside a current textbook on software
architecture, and you ll find few patterns that we don t apply at Amazon. We use high performance
transactions systems, complex rendering and object caching, workflow and queuing systems, business
intelligence and data analytics, machine learning and pattern recognition, neural networks and
probabilistic decision making, and a wide variety of other techniques. And while many of our systems
are based on the latest in computer science research, this often hasn t been sufficient: our architects
and engineers have had to advance research in directions that no academic had yet taken. Many of

Individualistic Collectivistic
According to Hofstede, Great Britain is an individualistic country (score: 89), Brazil is a more
collectivist country (score: 38) and Spain is in the middle with a score of 51.
In a collectivist country an organisation puts the stress on the training of skills. That is what Santander
does with Abbey: they train the employees to improve the customer service
If we presume that the training of the UK employees happens after the working hours, they have less
personal time. But personal time is very important in an individualistic country, as Great Britain is

Equality of Life in Kurt Vonnegut s Works
Equality of life Will Rogers once said We will never have true civilization until we have learned to
recognize the rights of others. This quote is what we should strive for in reality but in Kurt Vonnegut s
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow , Harrison Bergeron , and All the King s Horses this is the
exactly the opposite of what occurs in his stories. In Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow , the
earth is overcrowded, people live forever, the same politicians have been in office forever and no one
recognizes each other s rights. In Harrison Bergeron the people of America don t even have any rights;
they are equal in all aspects of life and in All the King s Horses people are being used as chess pieces
and not as human beings. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And George, while his intelligence was way above normal, had a little mental handicap radio in his
ear because he was too intelligent. Harrison s father was also forced to carry around a bag of lead shot
to make him not as strong as he could be, making him equal to everyone else. After Harrison was
taken away, his mother doesn t remember it and when she does subconsciously, she cries and doesn t
know why she is crying. After Harrison is taken he is forced to wear a large pair of earphones,
spectacles with thick wavy lenses which were meant to cause him to have whanging headaches, and
three hundred pounds of scrap metal. He then breaks free of his restraints and storms a TV studio and
takes it over, here he declares himself emperor. He then declares that he needs an empress, then one of
the ballerinas steps up, after removing her hideous mask, she reveals her blinding beauty. They are
both killed by the Handicapper General after they kiss.
In Vonnegut s All the King s Horses he talks about the cold war and how men become machines, that
war is a ritual human sacrifice and that we are just pawns in the game of life (Radovic). In the short
story, Pi Ying tells Kelly that chess games, like battles, can very rarely be won without sacrifices and
that, philosophically, and that the game he is required to play is no different. Vonnegut also discusses
the true horror of war that, in order to survive, men must become like machines, denying their
humanity. In Vonnegut s

A Brief Note On Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting
Introduction and background
Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is a surgical procedure performed on patients with coronary
artery disease to improve their survival and quality of life. (1) It remains to be the gold standard
treatment for patients requiring multivessel coronary revascularization despite recent advances in
medical therapies and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). (2) There are two forms of CABG.
Traditionally, CABG is performed with a cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) machine (aka heart lung
machine or the pump ) which maintains circulation while the heart is temporarily stopped. (1) This
creates a bloodless and motionless operating field for the surgeons. (3) The body is then weaned from
CPB and the heart is restarted with the completion of grafting. (1) Alternatively, a relatively newer
technique called off pump CABG or beating heart surgery can be performed. With this procedure,
CPB is not utilized and the surgeon grafts the blood vessel on the pumping heart after the area around
the blocked coronary artery is stabilized. (1)
Ever since the introduction of off pump CABG, clinicians all over the world have been interested in
finding out whether off pump CABG can help patients avoid the deleterious effects associated with
CPB and a large amount of research has been undertaken to investigate the potential advantages of off
pump CABG over the conventional on pump CABG. Adequate knowledge in this field will allow
surgeons to select an optimal surgical

The Office of Warren G. Harding
In the early 1920s, after facing the struggles of World War I, the Palmer Raids, and Wilson s fall,
Americans craved stability. Republicans were promising a return to the settled country we once were,
and this eventually led to the election of Warren G. Harding, the first Republican president in the
decade. One of his first acts as president was allowing people to walk on the White House garden,
reassuring the citizens that their government was returning to them after a time of hardship. During his
campaign, Harding called for normalcy , a consistent period of peace and quiet, something that
appealed to Americans after the time of relentless strain. Despite the scandals, President Harding was
successful during his term, as he delivered to the public what he had promised, a return to normalcy
and revival, by lowing income tax for the rich, passing many tariffs, and initiating the Washington
Naval Conference.
Harding listened to the demands of the rich citizens, in terms of taxes. In 1921, he created the Bureau
of the Budget, which provided the government with an accounting of its income, and it eventually
helped in assessing past performances and in planning future government programs. This Bureau also
allowed the government to decide what is best for the citizens and for the economy very easily. It
saved so much money during such a crucial time, as it, for the first time ever, limited government
spending. Additionally, Mellon, Harding s Secretary of Treasure, introduced

Henry VIII And Louis XIV Essay
Henry VIII and Louis XIV
Henry VIII and Louis XIV were both men whose accomplishments on a national level for their
respective countries of England and France were great, but whose very different personal problems
gave them a negative impression in history. The two leaders had very different ruling styles, but with a
few similar themes throughout. Perhaps the best thing to look at first is their very different attitudes
toward God and God¹s power in monarchy and state. Henry
VIII on England grew up as a very strong Catholic, at the insistence of his mother and father. He was
known to be ³a man of daily devotionals, setting an example for his people² (Canon 76). His own

This war, which ended in 1714, left France exhausted and weakened.
Both men had a common ability to see the goodness in other men as royal advisors. Both hired
surprisingly intelligent and wise men to run their affairs for them, perhaps Henry even more than
Louis XIV. One of Henry¹s chief advisors is immortalized in Shakespeare¹s ³The Life and Times of
Kind Henry VIII².
Cardinal Wolsey is spoken of there as ³a man such as history had never yet laid their eyes upon, a man
who could have others get his own will enforced²
(Shakespeare 78). Wolsey spent little time at the British court, but the time he spent was valuable. He
served as chief advisor to a young, newly crowned, and impressionable King Henry. He formed
Henry¹s ideas about government, spoke for the monarch in assembly, and reputedly taught Henry
everything he knew about economics from an early age. Two other advisors are also known to history
as serving in Henry¹s later life, Thomas Cromwell and Thomas More.
Likewise, Louis XIV, in a mark of true genius, was wise enough to appoint someone wiser than
himself to run the government. He had many, and oddly, most of their names have been erased from
history. Jean Baptise Colbert, advisor to Louis in his formative years as a monarch, later wrote in
prison, ³

When Poetry Comes Not Come At All Essay
If Poetry comes not as naturally as Leaves to a tree it had better not come at all (biography). John

  • 2. Child s Ability Of Conservative Thought Homework Assignment #2 Jean Pigiat, a Swiss psychologist and philosopher, theorized that children all go through cognitive developmental stages. These stages differed by age as well as cognitive reasoning. The Sensorimotor Stage, 0 2 years, focused on the child s ability or lack of rather to understand object permanence. The second stage, described as the Preoperational Stage, focused on children of the spanning the ages of 2 7 years old. In this group the children understood object permanence however could not transform those images or ideas in their mind. The Concrete Operations stage occurred between the ages of 7 and 11 years old and was defined by the child s ability of conservative thought. These children developed the capacity to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you were to try to explain it to them, the child may become frustrated and angry as their stage may not allow that concept. As any parent can attest, children at the age of three all have one distinct personality trait in common; ego. They are completely egocentric and are unable to understand the needs of others because it does not relate to their own. A child at this age may look at their own plate at dinner and see a full plate. Then, gazing upon another, notice it not as full as their own. Since their own needs have been met, the child will assume that the needs of others have also been taken care of. Another example of this egocentric personality is during a movie when the child is jumping from seat to seat. While they can see the screen, other movie goers may not. Building on this egocentric behavior, the child may also exhibit bad behavior to achieve attention. By throwing tantrums, crying and getting hurt she will be doted on and her ego will be sustained until she desires more attention. The child may also show separation anxiety if her parents are away. Her thought process would not allow her to understand that, although she is of the utmost of importance to her family, they may have other obligations. This anxiety could overwhelm her with thoughts of being abandoned and never seeing her family again. Today, Piaget s theories remain valuable however those that came after are building their own ... • 3. The Piano Lesson, By August Wilson In The Piano Lesson, by August Wilson, Berniece struggles with her personal connection with the piano. Her families past reveal her relationship with the piano. The piano meant a lot of things to a lot of different people over the years. The piano is a complex and multilayers symbol; its meanings are both personal and political. For example, Berniece was affected by the piano positively and negatively. She had a sentimental connection with it and never wanted to get rid of it. But the piano had a lot of history behind it and it also carries a lot of meaning to it. Berniece stopped playing the piano for a while because of all the spirits inside of it and how they started to haunt other people. Berniece saw Boy Willie getting attacked by Sutter s ghost and that made her realize she needs to let go of the past and play the piano again. But what was ironic is that she tried her best to forget the family history that came with the piano, she can never let go of her families past no matter what she does. This reveals that people should come to good terms with their past and learn to overcome it. The piano affected her positively because Berniece liked playing the piano. She would play it all the time for Mama Ola and her daughter learned how to play it as well. It affected her negatively because it had a gruesome past. Bernieces family would die over that piano. For example, Boy Charles died in the boxcars in a fire after the piano was found missing. After this tragedy, the piano ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Oxygen During Exercises When i exercised my heart beat faster, this is in order to speed up the transport of blood in the cardiovascular system. This is because as the muscles begin to work harder during the exercise they will need more oxygen, and glucose and nutrients in order to give the muscles energy as they work harder. This also means that they produce more carbon dioxide as they use up the oxygen so the heart must also pump the blood to the lungs faster in order to get the carbon dioxide out of the body and to exchange it for more oxygen. You could test this by testing how much oxygen and carbon dioxide someone breaths when they rest and when they exercise in order to compare the two. • 6. Latino Music Essay I have grown up listening to Hip Hop just as I did listening to my mother s blaring Bachata and Merengue every Sunday morning and from what I can recall, the artists I primarily listened to were black, or Eminem. The only Spanish rappers I did listen to were Reggaeton artists, meaning I did not listen to many predominately English speaking Latino rappers. This revelation of my early musical tastes begs the question as to why I was not exposed to more Latino rappers during the late nineties and early millennium. In learning about how Latino s have participated within the realm of Hip Hop, one learns that allow Latino s have played a major role in its foundations, the call for a strong identity has emerged due to various group s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... African American acceptance of Latino culture stems largely from similar experiences of prejudice and shared African roots. In addition, black hip hop has included various Latino elements, illustrating growing acceptance and integrations between both parties. Various elements present in black hip hop include Spanglish lyrics, rumba rhythms (Morales 300 301), and the celebration and desire for a Latina woman, who shares similar physique to African American women (Rivera 131 132). In examining Latino Hip Hop history, an overall theme of inclusion and exclusion emerges, where Latinos are included if they provide something desirable and marketable and excluded due to their ethnicity. Because of this, the need to affirm Latin identity becomes a necessity in order to solidify the Latino presence within the genre. Latino rap takes on the Latin American experience and builds upon to tell poetic stories of pride, unity, and discrimination throughout Latino history. This theme of being proud of one s roots plays a central role in how Spanish speaking rappers may or may not conduct themselves. For many, the following lyrics illustrate pride in the face of discrimination: Now what you call me? ( Spic) Yeah, that s it/ cause you can say whatever cause I don t ... • 7. How Does Napoleon Use Power In Animal Farm Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world (Mandela). Napoleon realizes this truth and takes full advantage of it early on in the story. In George Orwell s allegorical novel Animal Farm, Napoleon seizes control of the now independent farm. He allows the pigs to be educated and excludes the others. However, he personally educates some puppies, foreseeing them as a powerful weapon to gain full authority over the animals and to reduce distrust that could lead to revolt. As he continues to rule, he acquires more power and he uses it to violate and change laws so that they best benefit him and his reign. Fortunately for him, he already wields the power of education, enabling him to rise almost effortlessly to power; With their superior knowledge it was natural that they should assume leadership (pg. 21). This is a subtle infraction of the principles clearly stated in the commandments of Animalism. Equality is supposed to apply to everyone and every situation, but the animals are accustomed to having a leader, therefore, it is second nature for them to rely on a person higher than them. Sadly for the majority of the naïve animals, the pigs ascend to power simply because the weapon of education is pointing at them and they are found weaponless and unable to defend themselves. Animalism is turned into an oligarchy, rule by the elite, in this case the pigs are the elite because they are more educated than the animals. Napoleon not only wants power over the lowly farm animals, but he seeks absolute control over the entire farm, including the remaining pigs. To do this, he again takes advantage of the power that lies in education; He said that the education of the young was more important than anything that could be done for those who were already grown up (pg. 26). The following are advantages to alternative dispute resolution. One of this advantages is that it allows both parties to obtain some sort of gain because in a court of action only party would be the beneficiary. Another benefit is that the process would not be as bureaucratic as it would be on court of action where representatives of the company would also focus on the case and not in the activities of the company. In single gender schools there is less drama, it helps preserve culture, there are less stereotypes, and test scores and confidence levels rise. Single gender schools have many positive impacts, and they help students prepare for the future. For starters there is less drama at an all girls school. Since there aren t any guys on campus, you aren t gonna be jealous of a couple at school. Another reason there is less drama is that you aren t vying for the guys attention. This also leads to more modesty. Loran Wilbur , who went to an all girls school said, There was a lot less pressure for appearance at Wellesley. Girls usually just wore sweat pants and a t shirt. Lastly you don t have to worry about how a guys gonna treat you because of how you look. A lot of drama is based on relationships and attractions. Divorce wasn t a common thing at the time, people just didn t split so Kurt felt that he couldn t even face some of his friends at school anymore. He caused trouble at home which resulted in being kicked out by his mother. This caused more issues with his home situation leading him to be shifted among aunts, uncles, and even friends because after a few weeks in each place everyone wanted him to leave. Cell phones were principally utilized for correspondence and light Web searching on the train. That was all set to change when Apple declared the iPhone in January 2007 and propelled it months after the fact in June. Apple s concept of the cell phone joined intense sight and sound capacities with the same email and Web searching components as all different cell phones already had. It had a huge shading showcase with a capacitive digitizer, and its client interface was at long last finger friendly. Furthermore, dissimilar to telephones before it, the iPhone had one and only button all over the Home button and three around its edges, two for volume up/down and one for force/standby. Apple s versatile working framework, iOS, was still exceptionally fundamental at the time, however it was the first look into the new, cutting edge portable cell phone working frameworks we know and love to. The Wonderful World Of Disney Marian Mimi Sesay ENGL 101 Professor Burrus October 2nd 2015 Welcome to the most wonderful racist world of Disney The wonderful world of Disney is synonymous with fairy tales, adventure, and happily ever after. Disney makes dreams come true and makes us wish upon a star. And apart from its entertaining purposes, the world of Disney is a learning medium in which kids can learn about ethics, values and self image. The world of Disney over time has become a persuasive form in which children can learn about the world around them. However, The world of Disney teaches messages to children that exceed the boundaries of childhood culture. Many of Disney movies and television shows portray people of color in stereotypical fashion and its attempt in diversity exemplifies the ideals of colorblindness. In the past years, Disney television shows have been trying to embody the whole concept of multiculturalism and the idea of inclusiveness. There have been diverse representations of people of colored as cast members in many of Disney television shows. Shows like That s so Raven and Cory in the House are about black families with diverse casts. Diversity in cast is also seen in shows like Wizards of Waverly place, Good Luck Charlie and Shake it Up. These are not empty descriptions, each description of the clothes is so convincing that it plays with the readers senses allowing them to visualize a dynamic cinematic picture (Stankovic 79). For example, Carrie s total outfit consisted of a small trunk, a cheap imitation alligator skin satchel, a small lunch in a paper box, and a yellow leather snap purse, containing her ticket, a scrap piece of paper with her sister s address in Van Buren Street, and four dollars in money (Dreiser 1). Such a description describes a person who is leaving in a rush with little money and only a scribbled address, but someone who longs for more, as the imitation alligator skin satchel suggests. It is predicated on the assertion that by getting back to basics and eating the way our paleolithic ancestors did, we won t be subjecting our bodies to all the chemicals and preservatives in modern foods. It restricts our diet to one similar to the way the cavemen ate. This means eating foods that can be fished out of the river, hunted in the woods, or gathered. Romantic Love In Romeo And Juliet Though some may simply know romantic love as an intense bond between individuals devoted to one another, its effects in reality are not always as beautiful as the concept. Particularly when it is frowned upon by society and the people involved also swim against the current, the consequences of this type of love can be damaging to others outside the romance. In William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, the actions of the young lovers in their desire to be together not only steer the course of their lives, but also those of their friends, families, and other citizens in the city. The unfortunate series of events following Romeo and Juliet s choice to reach beyond traditional gender roles, a standard courtship, and their established social networks reveal the importance of complying with these norms. By highlighting the chaos in Verona on the path to Romeo and Juliet s eventual demise, Shakespeare suggests that intense romantic love that threatens relationships and expectations in the established social order leads to tragedy. From the beginning of the play, Romeo s tendency to moon over women is not received positively by his friends. After enduring Romeo s heartbroken moping over the unattainable Rosaline, Benvolio encourages his cousin to pursue other ladies and take some new infection to [his] eye (1.2. 51) so that the rank poison of the old will die (1.2. 52). He says that only when a person comes out of the family bonding and does his duty properly he will be able to attain eternity. He explains the aim of Arjuna s birth. Arjuna was born to fight this battle and destroy the evil. He has to see the evil in the kauravas, instead of seeing them as his cousin brothers. Only then he can fight the evil and destroy it. A Brief Note On Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Introduction and background Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is a surgical procedure performed on patients with coronary artery disease to improve their survival and quality of life. (1) It remains to be the gold standard treatment for patients requiring multivessel coronary revascularization despite recent advances in medical therapies and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). (2) There are two forms of CABG. Traditionally, CABG is performed with a cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) machine (aka heart lung machine or the pump ) which maintains circulation while the heart is temporarily stopped. (1) This creates a bloodless and motionless operating field for the surgeons. (3) The body is then weaned from CPB and the heart is restarted with the completion of grafting. (1) Alternatively, a relatively newer technique called off pump CABG or beating heart surgery can be performed. With this procedure, CPB is not utilized and the surgeon grafts the blood vessel on the pumping heart after the area around the blocked coronary artery is stabilized. (1) Ever since the introduction of off pump CABG, clinicians all over the world have been interested in finding out whether off pump CABG can help patients avoid the deleterious effects associated with CPB and a large amount of research has been undertaken to investigate the potential advantages of off pump CABG over the conventional on pump CABG. Despite the scandals, President Harding was successful during his term, as he delivered to the public what he had promised, a return to normalcy and revival, by lowing income tax for the rich, passing many tariffs, and initiating the Washington Naval Conference. Harding listened to the demands of the rich citizens, in terms of taxes. In 1921, he created the Bureau of the Budget, which provided the government with an accounting of its income, and it eventually helped in assessing past performances and in planning future government programs.
