How Did Abraham Observed The Tenets Of Judaism
Judaism Judaism began about 4000 years ago with the Hebrew people in the Middle East.
Abraham, who was a Hebrew man, is considered the father of the Jewish faith because he
promoted the main idea of the Jewish faith: that there is only one God. At the time a lot of people
in the Middle East worshipped many gods. The Jewish tradition, Abraham founded which was later
named the Jewish religion in the land of Israel, around 1800 BCE. The Torahsays that Abraham
came to know that there was only one God, and he abandoned idol worship. The Talmud (Yoma
28b) relates that Abraham observed the tenets of Judaism. Judaism is strictly monotheistic meaning
that we have only one deity. The Creator has one true name which is represented by the letters
YHVH in English. Judaism was founded in 2500 BC in Mesopotamia. It was discovered by
Abraham. He promoted the central idea of the Jewish faith, that there is only One God. Judaism is
in Israel, Europe, and USA. However, in the past Judaism has spread both by active proselytism
and by migration from Judah. The Babylonian Exile was the first event that helped spread Judaism,
as many Jews chose not to come back to Jerusalem. By the time of the Roman Empire, there was
already a substantial Jewish presence in Babylon. Jewish Sacred Texts are The Tanach, Mishnah,
Talmud and Midrash. Judaism is the oldest of the Abrahamic religions, and its primary sacred text
is the Tanach, or the Jewish Bible, which is composed of the Pentateuch (Torah), the Prophets (Nevi
im) and the Writings (Ketuvim). Judaism as it is found in the United States today is divided into
four religious movements represented by synagogue membership. A small percentage of Jews
identify with extremist, rightwing, cult like movements (such as Hasidism) which had their origins
in eighteenth century Europe. A large percentage of Jews, identify themselves as Jewish though
they belong to no movement. Some of these Jews do join synagogues from time to time, but others
prefer to remain secular for ideological reasons. Mixed among both secular and synagogue based
Jews, there are others who center their Jewish identity on Zionism. The commonly known words of
the Thirteen Attributes are, Adonai, Adonai, El Rachum V chanun,

Why Organizations Should Measure Performance
Today s business atmosphere qualifications often become the bar for organizational process
improvements and measurements of favorable outcome. There are many reasons why
organizations should measure performance. Measuring performance can tell you what you
doing well so you can share your results and also unveils places where you need to make
changes. Organizations such as NCQA provides accreditation through measuring performance.
So they can improve the business by seeing what they are not doing so well and can respond to
the problem and fix it.There are many different types of models that can improve businesses like
the model 6 s or six sigma are highly used in the business world. You might even recognize the
Businesses that use six sigma like Home Depot and 3M ,but nearly sixty percent of all six Sigma
ambitions fail to produce the wanted results. When it comes to improvement strategies equal
attention must be compensated to peoples revolution in consumer relations. What is quality?
Quality in fact has no exact definition, the term usually refers to creating designing the activities
and operations of a single cooperation or business insure of quality organization skills and to
also improve the services as well. Quality is also known for its capabilities for its learning
process as well as its promise to be able to apply greater standards in order to better things in the
company and or the organization. The measurement of quality has to deal with learning

Psalm 78 Is The Psalm Of Remembrance
Psalm 78 is the psalm of remembrance. In the beginning, the psalmist commands the attention of
the present age to what we have heard and known. We should not conceal them from our children,
but it is our responsibility to tell the generations to come to praise the Lord about his strength and
wondrous works he has done. This is such a good reminder for me! Sometimes we are influenced
by the value of this world and we pay too much attentions to teach the children the knowledge of the
languages, sciences or arts, but we forget the more important thing is to help our children put their
confidence in Godand fear the Lord since they are still young. In the Psalm 78:9 39, the psalmist
remembers many miracles God has done for the Israel and how God

Death Of The Victorian Era Essay
Throughout the world, death plays a fundamental role, it is unavoidable and everyone will
experience it at some point in their lives. In contemporary western societies, death is accepted as
such, and is organised for, with people years before their death preparing wills and funerals for
when their day finally comes. However, for many, deathstill comes as a surprise, and most will
always try and do anything to prolong their lives and grasp at immortality. Yet this wasn t always
the case, during the Victorian era, whilst people still mourned and grieved, death was an
accepted part of life. From the Victorian era to now, death has both changed and stayed the same
in many different ways, from the way in which people die, to organising their death, and to the
role medicine plays. The quest for immortality has been around for hundreds of years, but in
recent years, it has become less of a folktale involving monsters, and instead is becoming far more
believable. Whilst immortality will likely not be seen for many generations, if ever, the idea has
taken hold that science and modern medicine can prolong life, and death no longer has to be an
unavoidable point.
Preliminary Argument
Due to advancements in science and modern medicine, as well as the taboo on death and the rise
of the quest for immortality, people are becoming far less prepared mentally for death, and no
longer accept death as fact.

Government in Upper and Lower Canada
The need for government reform in Upper and Lower Canada was created because of the
incompetent way the government managed the country, a lack of representation in the government,
a lack of understanding of the colonist s in Upper and Lower Canada, and discrimination towards
the French in Lower Canada. Numerous colonists arrived to Upper and Lower Canadato begin a
new life with a proper government however, the government in Canada did not satisfy their
needs. Firstly, the unskilled way the government ran Upper and Lower Canada upset the
colonists. This included a lack of land for the colonists, even though they were promised land
when they arrived in British North America. Settlers were unhappy about land distribution
particularly about the clergy and crown reserves and the land speculators that were part of the
Family Compact. Also, absentee landlords overpriced and tied up prime land. The settlers were
also unhappy that the building of roadways was hindered by the clergy and crown reserves. The
colonists were unhappy with the government and the colonists complained loudly about land and
roads. Most knew that the Family Compact was to blame and they did not disguise their anger (Pg.
66). This meant that the colonists were aware that the Family Compact was responsible for this
problem because they completely ignored the colonist s complaints and they did not do anything to
help them. They could veto any laws passed by the Assembly and they did; they shut down

Sisterhood In The Help
We are not born to hate; we are taught to hate. Kathryn Stockett, the author of The Help, and
many other cowriters formed an uplifting, inspirational story about women in Jackson,
Mississippi, during the 1960s. Aibileen Clark, an African American maid; her best friend Minny
Jackson, also an African American maid in the south; and Skeeter Pheelan, a southern white
writer, set out to write a book to bring awareness to what is was like living as a black maid in
Jackson. As a white female living in the south today, this story, in my opinion, exhibits a theme of
sisterhood and the risks taken to keep the bonds of sisterhood intact. These women went against
society s views of how white and black women should live to compose a story in hopes of making
a change in the south for themselves and the ones they loved.... Show more content on

The black maids did not use the white toilet inside the home; they had specially built bathrooms
outside because whites were afraid of the so called diseases that the blacks carried. Skeeter
Pheelan went outside of what society viewed as acceptable, she went against the beliefs of her
friends, and she snuck around her family so she could write the story and build special bonds with
the maids in Jackson, Mississippi. After a tragedy in the black community, the maids got angry and
decide to trust Miss Skeeter and build a bond of sisterhood with her too. Stockett writes, A woman
with curly gray hair and a black coat follows behind him, but then stops in front of me where I m
standing with my satchel... Miss Skeeter,... I m on help you with the stories (297). This lady, and
several others, broke the public s rules to build lifetime bonds and lifetime changes. The sheer

My Visit To Tulane
I somehow managed to visit Tulane of what I most certainly feel was the hottest day of the year.
While walking around campus on my tour, I was positive I would faint. Despite this, however, I
still fell in love with Tulane and the surrounding city of New Orleans. I have always loved history
and if one thing can be said about New Orleans it is certainly not lacking any history. While
exploring the French Quarter and the Garden District I became fascinated with the rich culture
bursting at every turn. The ghost stories, the voodoo magic, the music, and even just the colorful
atmosphere all filled me with intrigue. Tulane seems to mirror that rich culture I so value. With its

The Pros And Cons Of World Population Control
Have you ever wondered what the answer to world problems is? World population control is one
option, but it is not a good one. Some say that it would help improve life, and would help bring
balance to the world. However, I believe that population control would not truly help anyone. World
population control is not the answer to world problems, for it would take away humanlife, the right
to have kids, and in the long run would not help any living thing.
The idea of population control started out many years ago. The person who first started Planned
Parenthood wanted to control the population of African Americans because she wanted less of
them around (National Public Radio). She tried to persuade more African Americans to come to
Planned Parenthood than people of other races. In addition, there was forced population control
during the Holocaust, a time in World War II, when Nazi Germany tried to exterminate all Jews
and others the Germans did not like (National Public Radio). This was because Adolf Hitler
discriminated against anyone not white or German. In the late 20th century, the Chinese decided to

Essay on UCSB as a Rationalist Organization
The University of California Santa Barbara is an organization revolving around students and faculty
alike. Any organizations can reflect two contrasting perspectives, a Naturalist or Rationalist, which
underlines and questions the ideas of structure and formality. Naturalist organizations convey
informality due to the basis on the flow of the members behavior and relationships among others.
But nonetheless, Rationalist organization is formalbecause the organization s fluidity is based on
the members limits and structure. Thus, I am going to argue that overall UCSB is a Rationalist
organization, rather than Naturalist, because UCSB has created limits and structure for its students
and faculty; but first, I will discuss Naturalists... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
UCSB is not a naturalist organization because students and faculty do not have the same authority
to be informal with one another. Yet, UCSB s goals emulate some Naturalist theory as seen in their
mission statement. Their mission statement states that each student and faculty member will
experience an educational journey of discovery that stimulates independent thought, critical
reasoning, and creativity... [through] interdisciplinary collaboration that is responsive to the
needs of our multicultural and global society (Mission Statement). Naturalists goals denies
specificity and are unclear to each member divulging a different academic path for each student
or faculty member (Sutton 1/20/11). By looking at an aggregate level, UCSB members work
together to achieve that educational journey of creativity , but on an individual level, each
member has varying goals for his or herself depending on his or her role. Students do not have the
same goals as their professors or the Chancellor, their goal is to work to achieve their degree
whereas the Chancellor s goal is to provide a thought provoking experience for his students. The
mission state accommodates and supplies a different experience for each member because it is
ambiguous. UCSB members must explore their own path to achieve their own goals to understand
what their education and careers meant. Naturalist goals determine

7 Terraces In Dante s Comedy
Love, in Dante s view, is the force behind all human action (Musa, p. 112). Similarly, Augustine
believes that love is the path to happiness, stating, What was it that delighted me? Only loving and
being loved (Augustine, 2, p. 62). In Dante s Divine Comedy: Purgatory, Dante tells the story of a
pilgrim traveling through the seven terraces in Purgatory. On his journey, the pilgrim learns the
consequences of loving even good things too much. In particular, the last three terraces of
Purgatory that he visits demonstrate the dangers of loving good things with excessive zeal (Dante,
17.96). In Augustine s Confessions, he converses with God describing his journey from being
consumed with his love of earthly pleasures, particularly sex, to... Show more content on

When Dante sees the fire that engulfs the seventh terrance leaving only a narrow path to walk he
becomes terrified, since there was the fire, and here I could fall off (Dante, 25.116 117). The
fact that there it is so easy to fall off of this narrow path symbolizes that most people do fall into
the sin of lust, and very few are able to stay on the narrow path of not falling into this sin.
Through this book, Dante has been making this journey to finally see his lover, Beatrice, who
died several years ago. Although Beatrice symbolizes faith, she also is the object of Dante s lust.
When Dante finally sees Beatrice, he senses Signs of the ancient flame (Dante, 30.48). This
flame represents the lust he had for Beatrice. Even though, Dante has passed the seven terraces
he still does not fully love God. Dante gave mind and eye to satisfying her, over satisfying God
(Dante, 32.108), and his attention is solely fixed on Beatrice who reigned completely in [his]
mind (Dante, 32.93). It is not until Dante realizes that Beatrice represents faith in God and
revelations that, What [he] had loved the most of all the thing that were not she, [he] hated now
the most (Dante, 31.86 87). Dante finally realizes that putting God above all else is the best thing

T-Mobile Competitive Forces Model
Information systems interact with the organizations and influences the organization in many
aspects of the whole organizational structure to the daily behavior. Information systems can enable
strategies in four aspects including low cost leadership, product differentiation, focus on market
value and strengthen customer and supplier intimacy.
Low cost leadership means offer the lower price to customers and operate the organization in the
lowest costs (Laudon, 2014, pp. 126). It is believed that the information system urged the
organizational structure to be flattened, while the scope of information dissemination information

First of all, the traditional competitors that are sharing the market, like the iPhone that T Mobile has
already considered. The information system can be used to analyze the competitors actions like
innovation in the production style or the introduction of new product that appealed the customers.
Besides, there are always many new entrants enter the market with the flow of labor and capital
(Laudon, 2014, pp. 124). Although the requirements for the entry to the mobile market is relative
higher than others, the number of new entrants are considerable while customers are more
selective. As a result, those companies like the T Mobile in this case that are lack of competitive
advantages will be omitted by customers. As for the substitute, the development of entertainment

Short Essay On Bedbugs
Bedbugs may be little creatures but they are great hitchhikers, very much capable of moving from
one infected site to another. They secretly hide on bedding, clothing, boxes, luggage, and
furniture. But if you really want to sleep like a baby at night and not undergo another bed bug
war, here are some tips to keep the little bloodsuckers out of your bedand hopefully out of your
house too.
1. Make Sure that Your Bed Frame Has Feet
One of the most important things that you need to do is to ensure that your bed has feet. If it
currently doesn t have feet, you can always go to a nearby home store and purchase an affordable
and simple bed frame. Believe it or not, your bed frame will serve an important part in bedbug
proofing your bed.
2. Put ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is the purpose why having a bed frame is suggested. The bed bugs may attempt to get inside
the bed bug coasters but will end up being trapped inside. Once the bedbugs are inside, they can no
longer climb up the bed frame. Choose the bed bug coasters that contain compartments because you
can track where bed bugs are coming from or how they go up from the ground and hide under the
sheets.
3. If Possible, Move Your Bed Away from Walls or Furniture
This tip is not always possible for every homeowner as some are living in a small space. So,
depending on the size of your room, you can opt to position your bed away from the wall or the
furniture. If you can also put it away from anything that touches the bed, it would be much better.
The reason is simple: these walls or furniture linked to the bed is giving bed bugs a way to cross
and reach your bed while you are sleeping, which of course spells nightmares.
You can keep the bed at least one foot away. Also, bed bugs are not really capable of jumping from
the wall to your bed. So, even if the gap is just one inch, it would also be okay as long as your bed
covers do not also touch the furniture or wall around the bed.
4. Don t Let the Bed Cover Touch the Floor or

Dreams, By Sigmund Freud
A person s dreams appear to have a universal language. In ancient societies, people looked at
dreaming as some kind of supernatural communication and dreams are fascinating mysteries. To
begin the discussion of dreams, it is important to note that dreams are often considered an extension
of consciousness. In other words, dreams can be a way the brain organizes and analyzes the day to
day events during sleep. Everyone dreams, however, not everyone remembers their dreams. The
psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud, theorized that dreams bury themselves in unconscious emotions
and as we sleep our mind releases these emotions in the form of dreams. He also theorized that
dreams are ways in which people act out suppressed desires. The Interpretation of... Show more

This theory was a good method of explaining dreams, but it did not predict behavior. In other
words, one cannot prove or refute the validity of Freud s theory. According to Ciccarelli and
White (2015), many of today s professionals no longer appreciate Freud s dream theory (151).
Nevertheless, Freud s legacy lives on as The Father of Psychoanalysis (Robinson 2011) and a
pioneer in the study of dreams. Even though, the theory proposed by Freud appears decidedly
unscientific. The unconscious mind was important in Freud s work and the Freudian theory
emphasized that the unconscious mind governed behavior.
Additionally, to study Freud, one must investigate his theory of manifest content and latent content.
While reading Freud, a student learns that the actual content of the dream refers to manifest content.
That is to say, the exact subject matter of the dream makes up the manifest content. At the same
time, Freud believed that the real meaning of a dream referred to latent content. An individual s
personal interpretations define the latent content in Freud s theory. Although rarely recognized,
Freud s career was first and foremost a practitioner Moran 2010). As a psychotherapist Freud
believed that dreams come from deep in the unconscious mind. Perhaps even from things
suppressed since childhood. The study of dreams helped Freud understand the process of
psychoanalyzing people and he believed dreams were a

Arguments Against Egalitarianism
In this essay, I will explain the view of prioritarianism as an alternative to egalitarianism, as it
avoids the main problem facing egalitarianism. Albeit that prioritarianism withstands this problem,
it brings with it more problems than it solves, so I will then refute prioritarianism and suggest we
instead move to sufficientarianism. In Derek Parfit s Equality and Priority (1997) he introduces the
idea of prioritarianism as an alternative to egalitarianism, this is to avoid the levelling down
objection that egalitarianism faces. Egalitarianism claims that there is intrinsic moral value in some
sort of equality, be it justice, opportunity, resources etc. (Arneson, 2013). The levelling down
objection claims that there can be a case where... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prioritarianism claims that people who are worse off should be given moral priority over those
who are better off (Parfit, 1997, p. 213). If we imagine a society where there are rich people and
very rich people, and another society where there are very poor people and poor people, and
getting people from very poor to poor gives the same increase in utility as going from rich to
very rich. Then, according to egalitarianism, getting people from rich to very rich would be just
as good as getting people from very poor to poor. Prioritarianism, however, claims that getting
people from very poor to poor matters more because they are worse off, even though the total
increase in utility would be the same as getting the rich people to very rich. The prioritarian
claim is not one of aiming to reduce equality, as if there was just one person in the world who is
worse off, and no one else exists, we would be just be obliged to give him just as much benefit as
we would a world where there are also other people who were better off. Benefiting those who
are worse off is not relative to those who are better off, it is an absolute (Parfit, 1997).
Prioritarianism avoids the levelling down objection because if we imagine the case where there
are very rich people and very poor people, as we are not aiming for equality, making the very rich
very poor would bring no good. A prioritarian would only be motivated to benefit the very poor as
they re the ones who are worse off (Parfit, 1997). This is more in line with moral intuitions, making
prioritarianism a more attractive view than

of the Sony networks. In fact, there was a series of breaches by different groups of hackers. The
information provided by registered users, including usernames, passwords, names, and addresses,
was compromised. In addition, the credit card information of users who make online purchases
may have been compromised. Sony did not announce this information until a week after the last
breech. The network was shut down after the last of the breaches. A week after the last security
breach, Sony announced to its PlayStation Network users that certain information may have been
compromised. Many users were very upset because their personal and financial information had
been compromised for over a week and they were unaware. There was a significant delay between
when the card information was compromised and when Sony notified its users. Many users who
did not give credit card information to Sony were still upset because they use the same login and
password for multiple sites, and now their information on other sites may have been accessed
without their knowledge. After the breaches, Sony did not just patch the holes in its network
security, it had to rebuild from the ground up, further upsetting users by causing the network to be

Gay Scouts Monologue
As the boutonniГЁre was pinned onto my suit jacket and the velcro corsage straps were
carefully latched around my girlfriend s wrist, there was a sense of finality surrounding the
whole Homecoming affair. But this was not me, not my coming of age. The awkward freshman
with the polka dotted tie cinched around his neck, perfectly matching the white dots of his date s
black dress, was the Boy Scout, the junior varsity soccer player who his parents and peers
expected him to be. The obligatory dance being our only formal date, I ended the relationship just
weeks later because I am gay. Still closeted to everyone around me, I feared ostracizing myself and
making others uncomfortable or downright disgusted. So when a girl asked me out to... Show more

My parents were struggling after my older sister came out a lesbian before fleeing to college.
Seeing how hurt they were, I kept my support for her secret. I remember one night hearing my
mom alone in her room, sobbing and crying to God. She pleaded with Him, begging why me? I
could not come out. My first challenge as a semi openly gay man was precariously holding the
rank of Life Scout in my local Boy Scout Troop. While gay scouts were technically banned from
the organization at that time, they would have had to throw me out. There was a movement of
scouts who, having earned the rank of Eagle, mailed back their badge accompanied by a letter
stating they would not accept the organization s award until they allowed both gay scouts and
adults. Thus, I was inspired to do the same and reject scouting s highest rank. Ironically enough, I
was on the Amtrak train to New Mexico for my Philmont backpacking trip when the Supreme Court
ruled banning gay marriage unconstitutional. The other scouts around me made horrific jokes about
the news, but I remained silent. In some ways I do not think I could have completed the following

Poisoning by Ingestion of Corrosive Chemicals
Introduction: Acute corrosive poisonings are caused by ingestion of corrosive chemicals which are
most commonly used as household agents. Intoxications with these kind of agents produce
numerous and severe post corrosive complications of the upper gastrointestinal tract. On the other
hand, our experience showed that corrosive agents may also cause injuries of the respiratory system,
which makes the treatment very hard and additionally complicates the severe clinical condition of
the patient.
Objective: The aim of the study is to show the incidence of respiratory complications in acute
corrosive poisonings, the need of various clinical investigations and also the treatment and final
outcome of these kind of poisoning.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical records of 415 patients hospitalized and treated at
the University clinic for toxicology and urgent internal medicine, in Skopje, Republic of
Macedonia, in the period between 2007 and 2011. The protocol consisted of methods for analyzing
the systemic complications, with an accent on the post corrosive respiratory complications.
Results: From the total number of patients even 98 (23.61%) exhibited systemic complications,
from which 51 (52.04%) are respiratory complications. The majority of patients are female (n=40,
78.43%) and the most common complication is pneumonia (n=47). The youngest patient in this
study was 14 and the oldest was 87 years old.
Conclusion: Besides the gastrointestinal complications in the

Andrew Jackson Heroism
Andrew Jackson said, Your government has at last yielded to the impulse of the nation ... the hour
of national vengeance is now at hand. The eternal enemies of American prosperity are once again
to be taught to respect your rights, after having been compelled to feel, once more, the power of
your arms.
Andrew Jackson yearning to engage with Britain during the War of 1812 as noted in the above
when Jackson called for volunteers to serve in the second division of the Tennessee militia. After,
the accomplished defeat of the Creek Indians March 27,1814 by the United States forces and Indian
allies under Major General Andrew Jackson. The Battle of New Orleans was a significant battle that
took place during the time period of 1812. While the majority of the bloodshed lasted about thirty
minutes it resulted in destruction for the British whose goal was to gain access to other territories
along the Mississippi River. The root cause of the battle began several months in advance. The
decisions that were made by leaders of the British military as well as the Americans being under
Andrew Jacksons invigorating leadership ended up putting Jackson s troops in an encounter with
the British army. The American triumph elevated Andrew Jackson to a status of heroism, giving
rise to what is known as Jackson Democracy. Britain wanted to enable trade with the entire
American south. Andrew Jackson is known as the no nonsense commander, came to aid New

Biochemical Tests On The Gram Negative And Gram Positive...
Microorganisms have the ability to live everywhere and can survive when put together with another
not of its kind. Expectations for this experiment would to successfully obtain credible information
behind the mixed unknown and be able to isolate both the gram negative and gram positive
bacterium. In order to obtain the correct test results and to ensure the right gram mixed unknown is
identified there had to be a series of eight biochemical tests performed on the gram negative
bacterium and five biochemical tests performed on the gram positive bacterium.
Introduction
The sole purpose behind this conduction was having the ability to understand just how the gram
negative and gram positive bacteria can be distinguished and identified when mixed together into
one broth. Understanding the basic characteristics as to why each bacterium has the ability to dye
certain colors and retain those colors. The gram positive bacteria has the ability to retain the crystal
violet color and remain purple as for gram negative bacteria, they cannot hold the purple color and
decolorizes when the ethanol hit its. The gram negative bacterium does have the ability to retain
the counterstain, which is a pink to red color. This happens because of the thickness of the
peptidoglycan layer, in the gram positive the layer is 20 80 nm thick and have a multiply amount
of layers but for the gram negative they only have a thin 1 3 nm thick one layered layer (Badon,
2014).

Emails are a right or a privilege
Emails are quick. They are conveyed on the double far and wide. No other type of composed
correspondence is as quick as an email. Therefore, today with the press of a button, favoured
messages are routinely sent worldwide by method of email. In spite of the pragmatic and
practical advantages of email, its fast development in ubiquity of utilization has uncovered some
of its shrouded pitfalls. Privilege means legitimate guidance must be looked for from an expert
lawful counsel; the correspondence must identify with that reason; and the interchanges must be
made in certainty between special persons (Hall and Estrella, 2000). Thus, Emails feel like
private discussions. Mostly, in the working environment, managers regularly hold the privilege to
screen each email sent or got by a representative on a business possessed device or system
(DeLisi, 2012). In bright of the separating suppositions among the ABA, the beneficiary of an
errant email must counsel any relevant morals assessment in the appropriate purview or, if there

Cloning Essay
Cloning
Cloning is an unethical action that should not be tampered with physically in any animal form
regardless of what it is. This is a genetically engineered process by humans, in which, perfectly
generated genes from someone or something is copied into its own life form to be an exact
replica. In the article Calves cloned to produce drugs there are two cows involved with cloning.
People should not be tampering with this, but letting God create people and animals the way he
has it planned out to be. Not to mention, no two or more life forms should ever be exactly alike
with the exact same genes (except for plants who are that way anyhow). With this happening to
animals now and evolving toward humans, it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No one should ever try and alter genes to any animal coming into this world, therefore in this news
article, the cows should have never been cloned. In an article in Time magazine, Richard Seed (a
well educated man that graduated from Harvard)
Page 2 wanted to start up a commercial cloning clinic. As soon as that was released to public,
President Clinton blasted the idea as untested and unsafe and morally unacceptable (Nash 58).
People around the country reacted nervous and uneasy. This was an example of one person that
has the desire and knowledge to do such a thing as this. If we don t stop him now, then there will
be many more doctors who will follow and set up this idea of cloning around the world. Then the
next thing you know, there will be hundreds of people identical and healthy everywhere. There is
nothing wrong with the people being healthy, but not becoming that way from cloning. Being
healthy should be our job as humans to keep up with our own body. As the article continued, Seed
posed his whole idea of opening the clinic from his interest in biomedicine and discovered a
technique for transferring embryos in cattle (58). This is a whole new idea that cloning of animals
can lead to cloning of our human race.
Seed began his work with embryos in cattle and now he has expanded his idea to form a human
cloning clinic. These are the kind of people that are going to want to go further in the cloning of

Masculinity And Masculinity, By Michael Kimmel Essay
In western culture, men are often subject to extreme methods of proving their masculinity, and to
reinforce what it truly means to be a man. Michael Kimmel, famous sociologist said, Masculinity is
the relentless repudiation of the feminine (Kimmel, 2015), which not only reflects how men think
about themselves but how North Americans as an entire culture think about masculinityand
manhood. The following pages will be centered on issues of the lens of masculinity in contexts
such as the sphere of education, the predominance and dependence of social relationships, and most
importantly fatherhood, which will be of a larger focus as the maleenters adulthood.
As a child, women and men are predominantly on the same page. With the exception of their
shared interests and activities. As a child grows up, the classroom setting starts to highlight the
differences between both boys and girls. Most often, education is catered towards girls and the
learning styles that girls flourish in (Vincent Ball, 2007). Girls outperform boys in almost every
subject when they are elementary school age (Vincent Ball, 2007) because in the classroom, it is
taught that the qualities with being a good student are most often synonymous with being a good
girl, and here is where you can see a dichotomy begin to occur (Vincent Ball, 2007). Boys are
conditioned from the beginning to understand that being a man, and being masculine is the polar
opposite of what it means to be feminine. Early

Theme Of Alcohol In A Streetcar Named Want
I was so smashed the previous evening that I undermined my better half, however I don t recall

and liquor presents itself as the ideal escape course for a feeling of remorse. Individuals
regularly wind up settling on imprudent choices all the more as often as possible while affected
by liquor. In any case, what amount of poor conduct would alcohol be able to pardon before a
man must acknowledge the results for their own behavior? Tennessee Williams dives into the topic
of liquor reliance all through his play, A Streetcar Named Want. All through the play, both Blanche
and Stanley appear to depend vigorously upon alcohol. Liquor is utilized as both a brace and a
reason for poor conduct in A Streetcar Named Want, and has turned out to be much more

The Negative Effects Of Smoking On The Environment
Smokers possess the tendency to kill more people per year than guns. However, this does not only
include smokers, as second hand smoke also enhances the tendency of negativity on this planet.
Smokers negatively affect the environment through numerous ways and they cause irreparable
damage to the entire ecosystem, water pollution, land, air, etc. Different facts clearly depict that
how smoking creates a long lasting negative impact on this planet. The tobaccoindustry sacrifices
around 600 million trees every year to fulfill the rising trends of smokers. Excessive amount of
carbon dioxide production takes place because of excessive cigarettesmoking. The United States
contributes 16 million metric tons of carbon dioxide in a single year (Tobacco Free Life ).
Managing the tobacco industry in an effective manner would reduce the flow of carbon dioxide that
would create a proactive impact on the environment.
The Cultivation of tobacco also negatively creates an impact on the environment. The cultivation of
tobacco results in a negative effect on the land, deforestation, and world hunger. In certain third
world countries, governments emphasize mainly on tobacco cultivation and these results in limiting
the land allocated for edible food farming (Tobacco Free Life ). Different private organizations also
earn effectively through the platform because of which they opt for tobacco cultivation.
The resilient nature of this crop makes it extremely vulnerable to different diseases and pests. The
utilization of extra pesticides affects the crops and the land. Nicotine is widely used as a natural
pesticide and these pesticides possess the tendency to malign the water and soil. Some of the
commonly used pesticides in the tobacco industry are Imidacloprid, chlorpyrifos, 1,3
Dicloropropene, etc (Tobacco Free Life ).
Tobacco not only contributes towards water pollution, but it also results in different negative
aspects including air contamination, dangers to wildlife, smoking related fires, etc. Cigarette butts
are toxic for different animals and these animals suffered from various issues when they intake
these cigarette butts. Smoking also causes wildfires and they negatively affect different habitants

Rainbow Bridge History
If you want to brighten up a person s day. Give them a rainbow was said by Anthony T. Hincks. It
is true that many people like seeing the wonderful rainbow after a rainstorm but there is never

been standing for over 50 years, it s called the Rainbow Bridge. The Rainbow Bridge provides a
lot of great history, many new cultures and interesting activities for tourists to take part in.
Rainbow Bridge contains many interesting historical features. A surveying party first found the
Rainbow Bridge in 1909, the scientists were quickly able to find out how it was created. It was in
fact created by erosion of the sandstone by the flowing water (Rainbow Bridge). The president then

The Ancient Inventions Of The Future
The Ancient inventions of the future Socrates was one of the greatest philosophers of the ancient
world. His teachings inspired young philosophers to go and explore the world. In addition, His
Knowledge even influenced boundless minds like Plato, who help make gigantic pushes in
geometry. Or Aristotle, who mad giant leaps in astronomy (also made a theory that the earth was
round in about 384 B. C.). therefore, a new era of philosophy was inaugurated and the course of
western civilization was decisively shaped. Modern mathematics, Medicine, and cartographywas all
modernized during this age of philosophy. Without the Greeks, present ideals and the way we live
our life would not be the same. So it is important that we know what the Greeks invented and their
power over our civilization.
First of all, the use the same form of democracy that we use in America. They decided that a
dictator would have too much control and power. So they got a cabinet of over 500 people for
democratic voting. They voted on taxes all the way up to executions. It worked a lot like our
jury system, with people randomly chosen to serve. As it was said by Scott J. Cooper;
Demokratia, Greek for power of the people, was born in Athens in the 7th century BC. As the city
state s oligarchy exploited citizens and created economic, political and social problems, Athenians
were inspired by the successful, semi democratic model Sparta had adopted. They turned to

Michael Porter put great emphasis on internal rivalry in his model. To be the best within a given
industry such as shipping requires constant strategically thinking in order to to keep the
competitive edge. The shipping industry is hard to get into for new entrants because FedEx,
UPS and DHL have already established their brand globally. There is a low chance that an up
and coming company can pose as a real threat to either one of these three companies. There is a
huge amount of money that needs to be brought about to compete. Some of the main costs
would be planes, trucks, infrastructure and fuel. That alone would mean spending billions of
dollars to get on the same level FedEx, UPS and DHL. All these three companies dominant
shipping packages either through the ground or air. What I mean by that is FedEx destroys UPS
in express delivery market, but UPS controls the ground shipping market. While DHL and FedEx
both control international markets far more than UPS. Building a brand name would take years if
not decades for new entrants to be recognized along with a ton of capital. FedEx is spending
billions just on acquiring international companies to help build their brand. It is unlikely to see a
new entrant pose any sort of serious threat to the already established reputable companies such as
FedEx, UPS and DHL. Threats in the shipping industry do not come from new entrants, but rather
the power of the buyers. Buyer power

Taking a Look at Writs of Habeas Corpus
September 11th was a day that was burned into the conscience of the American identity. The
response of the Bush Administration was to launch a full scale military operation against terrorist
entities, in particular Al Qaeda and their foreign supporters. This series of operations, became what
was to be known as the Global War on Terror . Subsequently, the invasion of Afghanistan and other
military operations resulted in the capture of high value targets with known connections to terrorist
organizations. While these events this had dramatic ramifications on geo political landscape,
American courts were also given the unenviable task of determining if those captured by the U.S
government were entitled to the rights and privileges enshrined in the U.S. Constitution. The
Supreme Court in particular faced a particular set of problems in confronting this issue. Precedent
on the matter had been established over fifty years earlier under far different circumstances that
were unable to reflect today s modern challenges. Secondly, the Court needed to determine whether
they had the jurisdictional authority to accept writs of habeas corpusfrom detainees held in
Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Historically, Lincoln s unilateral suspension of habeas corpus during the
Civil War was the first instance in which the courts had a chance to review the indefinite detention
of citizens of the United States. The detention of John Merryman, a southern sympathizer who
petitioned for review under

The Importance Of Humanitarian Intervention
The international community has a responsibility to protect citizens against the gross human rights
abuses of their states. This statement leads into the discussion of the two main doctrines that relate
to human rights violations, the first being humanitarian intervention which has existed for many
centuries, and places emphasis on the powers of state having the duty to protect its citizens, and if
this is ignored, the international community has rights to step in. Despite the fact that, in theory,
this intervention doctrine has many flaws starting with the failures seen in crisis areas such as
Somalia, Bosnia and Kosovoand the debate on whether it compromises a state s sovereignty.
These faults led to the creation of the newer Responsibility to Protect (R2P) doctrine, which, in its
own capacity, has many faults and failures, but has seen some small victories in region such as
Libya and Syria in recent years. Humanitarian intervention is by no means a new idea, it has in
fact been dated back to as early the 1600 s, when Hugo Grotius promoted the idea that a ruler
should be rightly dealt with if they were found to have inflicted inhumane treatment upon their
subjects (Haslett, 2014). It is described as the coercive action, using armed forces, by a state, in
another state without the permission of it authorities, in order to prevent and stop the suffering of
the citizens in that state. It can easily be confused with peacekeeping missions, but there are two

The Pros And Cons Of Regulating Drugs
Imagine you were in a severe car accident a few days ago. Your car flipped three times and even
though you got out without a scratch, you are now experiencing severe back pain. You make an
appointment to go see your primary care doctor and he or she prescribes you five milligrams of
Oxycontin. You go to the nearest pharmacy to get your prescription filled and once you take it, the
medicine instantly makes your back stop hurting. A few weeks later, you go back to see your doctor
and your painhas not stopped so he prescribes more of the drug for you. You find yourself back at
the doctor s office a third time, needing more of the drug you were prescribed, but this time, your
back does not hurt anymore. You are now addicted to this painkiller;... Show more content on

It should not be legal for pharmaceutical companies to target specific physicians, mainly those
who lack knowledge of the drug that company is trying to sell, and attempt to sell them a drug
without giving the full list of benefits and disadvantages of the drug no matter how large or
small. The FDA should also be able to make RiskMAPs mandatory for all drugs and should be
able to request it at any time. They should be able to step in and take a drug off the market at any
given time if they see fit. Finally, pharmacists should be attentive to all their surroundings while
on the job. One of the most important qualities a pharmacist can have and that employers should
look for is the ability to multitask. If a pharmacist is unable to detect a forged prescription or signs
of an addict it can be detrimental, not only to the person attempting to purchase the drug, but to
society as a whole. Opiate drugs were created to help people in legitimate pain, but due to the three
factors previously stated, they have been used non medicinally and caused the drug addiction and
overdose rates to increase. Although the benefits of these drugs are significant and unprecedented,
the hazards are far greater and can be easily brought down by the pharmaceutical

Wakulla Springs Research Paper
Wakulla Springs is one of the largest and deepest freshwater springs in the world. The spring
flow rate is about two hundred million gallons of water a day. The water flow of the springs
develops at the caves of the Florida Aquafers. The water then forms the Wakulla River and flows 9
miles southeast. After flowing 9 miles the Wakulla River joins the St. Marks River. The St. Marks
River then empties out into the Gulf of Mexicoat the Apalachee Bay. Part of the Wakulla Springs
water system is the Wakulla underwater cave system. The Wakulla Leo Sink cave system is the
longest underwater cave system in the United States (Friends of Wakulla Springs). Wakulla Springs
is a protected FloridaState park; however human interference is still a major issue. The spring is
often advertised as an outdoors adventure. With that advertisement come outdoor activities like
swimming, boat tours, scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking, etc. The outdoor activities contaminant and
interrupt the natural environment of the springs. Noise pollution, waste exposure, trash, and runoff

Fat Women In Grace Nichols s Fat Black Woman
Being fat and being woman is more than just a physical appearance or characteristic that describe a
body. Being a fat woman explores predominant conditions about size and gender that denote male
power, beauty prejudice and fatphobia (Atayurt, 2010). Grace Nichols in her Fat Black WomanВґs
poem (1984) assertively frames the overweight black female figure from its triple displaced
position and exchanges this appearance into the realm of power and bodily pride , challenging
different social and cultural realities (Atayurt, 2010, p. 1). Likewise the feminist fat acceptance
movementportrays fat female from its undesirable connotation and challenges these negative social,
political and cultural assumptions, eliminating the structural barriers fat women face.
Feminist fat acceptance movement attempts to equate fat stigma with other forms of oppression
(racism, classism, ableism, ageism, etc.) due to the political importance of these single fights
(Chastain, 2015). In fact, fat individuals are as diverse as any other group of people such as fat
queer people, fat people with disabilities, fat black people or fat indigenous people (Chastain,
2015). Indeed, also fat women have been exposed to various oppressions and rigorous beauty
standards (James, 2013), medicalized discourses (Afful Ricciardelli, 2015), political expectations
and health public narratives that condemn large bodies (Friedman, 2012).
Therefore, how does the socioeconomic and political context influence the gendered anti fat
narratives? In fact, the gendered anti fat discussions are perpetuated and proliferated across
Canada. First, a critical analysis of the economic, political, social and moral discourses is required
to identify the meaning of power around fat women and how it is implemented. Second, this paper
will critically discuss how to dismantle power from the feminism and fat acceptance movement
perspective, and the role of the stakeholder groups. Third and last, this paper will address my role,
responsibility, and current challenges as a social worker to deconstruct fat oppression narratives.

My Six Fundamental Pillars Of Character
1.Loyalty. I chose loyalty as my first pillar of my Six Fundamental Pillars of Character because
loyalty has been something I have cherished for my entire life. I believe being a loyal friend and
/or family member is the most important characteristic for anyone to have. I believe this because
if one does not have loyalty, what is their purpose? Loyalty is important to me because I
personally want loyalty from others, so I provide loyalty to others. I have always lived my life
on the concept that you get what you put in. In response to that, I am loyal to others with hope
that others will be loyal to me. This pillar is most important in my relationship with Kylee. I am
loyal to Kylee, as she is loyal to me. Without loyalty in our relationship, our feelings for each
other would not be as strong, if present at all. Honesty. Honesty is most important to someone
who is seeking the characteristic of loyalty. One who is dishonest, is not a loyal person. To be
loyal, you must be entrusted to tell the truth and nothing but the truth at all times. Educated. One
who is loyal, must be educated enough to be someone to rely one. If someone wants to be
trusted but is not wise enough to treat their trust correctly, they are not loyal. The loyal person
must know how to take things into perspective and know how to relate to the situation and act
accordingly. Dedicated. To be loyal, one must be dedicated to their characteristic. They must be
success driven, timely and organized in EVERY situation. If the loyal person is only loyal to
one person, or in only some situations, they are not truly a loyal person. Kind. A loyal person
must also be kind enough to be approachable. If a person isn t kind enough to be approached,
they cannot be labelled as loyal, because they aren t given the chance to prove they are. But, at
the same time they must also be realistic, and know how to help. 2.Safe. My second pillar is my
characteristic of safety. I believe I have lived my life safely, but also just as freely and exciting as
well. Safety is an important characteristic to me because I think not having this characteristic is
dangerous. To live a healthy life, one must know how to stay safe. I believe I have

Duck Commander Duck Outsourcing Strategy
Some of the most profitable companies have collapsed due to their failure to respond to changes in
the market. What started as a family business making duck calls has expanded into hunting
accessories, specialty foods, apparel, dvds, books, and speaking engagements for the Robertsons
and Duck Commander. It is no longer viable for the Robertson family, and the extended family of
staff, to handcraft each duck call on site at the current and projected rate of demand. Standard
industry practice is to outsource non strategic functions while retaining in house the company s
core value functions. Other companies attempts to keep their core value functions in house have
not yielded success. Our team has compiled data on these companies to show you how we have
derived our strategic plan for outsourcing. E E understands the unique challenge faced in
outsourcing Duck Commander duck calls with the same business values that were and always will

L.L. Bean, clothing and outdoor recreation equipment retailer, introduced their winter weather

meantime, other companies have begun to sell duck boot look alikes and vintage Airstream trailers

customer relations, as we have seen in the Better Business Bureau complaints, but it also positions

The Life of Daniel Defoe Essay
The Life of Daniel Defoe Daniel Defoe was easily one of the most influential and accomplished
English author/writer of all time. Not only is Daniel Defoe considered as the founder of the
English novel along with Samuel Richardson, but he was also a critical figure in European
journalism and political commentary. Defoe has produced as much as 200 works of non fiction
and 2,000 short essays in various periodical publications. In addition to over half a dozen full
length novels such as Robinson Crusoe, a tale of a shipwrecked sailor stranded on a remote
island. Defoe has done more than anyone else in his lifetime; he was a merchant, business owner,

Morton was a big influence to Defoe s style of writing, he can be seen as a character in later
works of Defoe. Even though Defoe s nonconformist father had always intended for him to go
into ministry, Defoe had decided that he did not wish to pursuit priesthood. Defoe jumped into
trade and politics and started to travel Europe working as a commission agent. Business with
trade seemed to occupy Defoe in his early 20s. He traveled around trading different items and
products such as stockings, wine, tobacco, and oysters. He even wrote many articles and essays
on economics and capitalistic theories. He was one of the very few people at that time with such
advanced ideas concerning the economy, and he was one of very few people to praise trade,
capitalism, and business in his time. But unfortunately even with all of his thought about
economics he went bankrupt in 1691. He made risky business maneuver to insure ships during a
war with France, this mistake put him ВЈ17,000 in debt. He was never able to fully recover from
this, even after paying off ВЈ12,000 of what he owed within 10 years. He was still haunted by his
debt for the rest of his of his life. In 1684 Defoe Married Mary Tuffley, a daughter of a merchant,
they went on to have 7 children.. In 1685 Defoe as a Dissenter joined Monmouth rebellion against
Catholic King James II. After the rebellion was put down Defoe was hiding in

Rooms In The 19th Century
Where were we at before rooms came along? Now here we are since rooms were made. Many
changes have taken place in rooms between these points in time, however the bedroom is, and

room as time progressed, and so the necessary changes were implemented. By ascertaining a better

  • 2. How Did Abraham Observed The Tenets Of Judaism Judaism Judaism began about 4000 years ago with the Hebrew people in the Middle East. Abraham, who was a Hebrew man, is considered the father of the Jewish faith because he promoted the main idea of the Jewish faith: that there is only one God. At the time a lot of people in the Middle East worshipped many gods. The Jewish tradition, Abraham founded which was later named the Jewish religion in the land of Israel, around 1800 BCE. The Torahsays that Abraham came to know that there was only one God, and he abandoned idol worship. The Talmud (Yoma 28b) relates that Abraham observed the tenets of Judaism. Judaism is strictly monotheistic meaning that we have only one deity. The Creator has one true name which is represented by the letters YHVH in English. Judaism was founded in 2500 BC in Mesopotamia. It was discovered by Abraham. He promoted the central idea of the Jewish faith, that there is only One God. Judaism is in Israel, Europe, and USA. However, in the past Judaism has spread both by active proselytism and by migration from Judah. The Babylonian Exile was the first event that helped spread Judaism, as many Jews chose not to come back to Jerusalem. By the time of the Roman Empire, there was already a substantial Jewish presence in Babylon. Jewish Sacred Texts are The Tanach, Mishnah, Talmud and Midrash. Judaism is the oldest of the Abrahamic religions, and its primary sacred text is the Tanach, or the Jewish Bible, which is composed of the Pentateuch (Torah), the Prophets (Nevi im) and the Writings (Ketuvim). Judaism as it is found in the United States today is divided into four religious movements represented by synagogue membership. A small percentage of Jews identify with extremist, rightwing, cult like movements (such as Hasidism) which had their origins in eighteenth century Europe. A large percentage of Jews, identify themselves as Jewish though they belong to no movement. Some of these Jews do join synagogues from time to time, but others prefer to remain secular for ideological reasons. Mixed among both secular and synagogue based Jews, there are others who center their Jewish identity on Zionism. • 4. Psalm 78 Is The Psalm Of Remembrance Psalm 78 is the psalm of remembrance. In the beginning, the psalmist commands the attention of the present age to what we have heard and known. We should not conceal them from our children, but it is our responsibility to tell the generations to come to praise the Lord about his strength and wondrous works he has done. This is such a good reminder for me! Sometimes we are influenced by the value of this world and we pay too much attentions to teach the children the knowledge of the languages, sciences or arts, but we forget the more important thing is to help our children put their confidence in Godand fear the Lord since they are still young. In the Psalm 78:9 39, the psalmist remembers many miracles God has done for the Israel and how God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Death Of The Victorian Era Essay Throughout the world, death plays a fundamental role, it is unavoidable and everyone will experience it at some point in their lives. In contemporary western societies, death is accepted as such, and is organised for, with people years before their death preparing wills and funerals for when their day finally comes. However, for many, deathstill comes as a surprise, and most will always try and do anything to prolong their lives and grasp at immortality. Yet this wasn t always the case, during the Victorian era, whilst people still mourned and grieved, death was an accepted part of life. From the Victorian era to now, death has both changed and stayed the same in many different ways, from the way in which people die, to organising their death, and to the role medicine plays. The quest for immortality has been around for hundreds of years, but in recent years, it has become less of a folktale involving monsters, and instead is becoming far more believable. Whilst immortality will likely not be seen for many generations, if ever, the idea has taken hold that science and modern medicine can prolong life, and death no longer has to be an unavoidable point. Preliminary Argument Due to advancements in science and modern medicine, as well as the taboo on death and the rise of the quest for immortality, people are becoming far less prepared mentally for death, and no longer accept death as fact. Body Ways of Dying During the Victorian Era, the ways of dying were quite different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Government in Upper and Lower Canada The need for government reform in Upper and Lower Canada was created because of the incompetent way the government managed the country, a lack of representation in the government, a lack of understanding of the colonist s in Upper and Lower Canada, and discrimination towards the French in Lower Canada. Numerous colonists arrived to Upper and Lower Canadato begin a new life with a proper government however, the government in Canada did not satisfy their needs. Firstly, the unskilled way the government ran Upper and Lower Canada upset the colonists. This included a lack of land for the colonists, even though they were promised land when they arrived in British North America. Settlers were unhappy about land distribution particularly about the clergy and crown reserves and the land speculators that were part of the Family Compact. Also, absentee landlords overpriced and tied up prime land. The settlers were also unhappy that the building of roadways was hindered by the clergy and crown reserves. The colonists were unhappy with the government and the colonists complained loudly about land and roads. Most knew that the Family Compact was to blame and they did not disguise their anger (Pg. 66). This meant that the colonists were aware that the Family Compact was responsible for this problem because they completely ignored the colonist s complaints and they did not do anything to help them. • 7. Sisterhood In The Help We are not born to hate; we are taught to hate. Kathryn Stockett, the author of The Help, and many other cowriters formed an uplifting, inspirational story about women in Jackson, Mississippi, during the 1960s. Aibileen Clark, an African American maid; her best friend Minny Jackson, also an African American maid in the south; and Skeeter Pheelan, a southern white writer, set out to write a book to bring awareness to what is was like living as a black maid in Jackson. As a white female living in the south today, this story, in my opinion, exhibits a theme of sisterhood and the risks taken to keep the bonds of sisterhood intact. These women went against society s views of how white and black women should live to compose a story in hopes of making a change in the south for themselves and the ones they loved.... After a tragedy in the black community, the maids got angry and decide to trust Miss Skeeter and build a bond of sisterhood with her too. Stockett writes, A woman with curly gray hair and a black coat follows behind him, but then stops in front of me where I m standing with my satchel... Miss Skeeter,... • 9. The Pros And Cons Of World Population Control Have you ever wondered what the answer to world problems is? World population control is one option, but it is not a good one. Some say that it would help improve life, and would help bring balance to the world. However, I believe that population control would not truly help anyone. World population control is not the answer to world problems, for it would take away humanlife, the right to have kids, and in the long run would not help any living thing. The idea of population control started out many years ago. The person who first started Planned Parenthood wanted to control the population of African Americans because she wanted less of them around (National Public Radio). She tried to persuade more African Americans to come to Planned Parenthood than people of other races. In addition, there was forced population control during the Holocaust, a time in World War II, when Nazi Germany tried to exterminate all Jews and others the Germans did not like (National Public Radio). This was because Adolf Hitler discriminated against anyone not white or German. In the late 20th century, the Chinese decided to make a rule to where each family could only have one child (an ... • 11. Essay on UCSB as a Rationalist Organization The University of California Santa Barbara is an organization revolving around students and faculty alike. Any organizations can reflect two contrasting perspectives, a Naturalist or Rationalist, which underlines and questions the ideas of structure and formality. Naturalist organizations convey informality due to the basis on the flow of the members behavior and relationships among others. But nonetheless, Rationalist organization is formalbecause the organization s fluidity is based on the members limits and structure. Thus, I am going to argue that overall UCSB is a Rationalist organization, rather than Naturalist, because UCSB has created limits and structure for its students and faculty; but first, I will discuss Naturalists... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... UCSB is not a naturalist organization because students and faculty do not have the same authority to be informal with one another. Yet, UCSB s goals emulate some Naturalist theory as seen in their mission statement. Their mission statement states that each student and faculty member will experience an educational journey of discovery that stimulates independent thought, critical reasoning, and creativity... [through] interdisciplinary collaboration that is responsive to the needs of our multicultural and global society (Mission Statement). Naturalists goals denies specificity and are unclear to each member divulging a different academic path for each student or faculty member (Sutton 1/20/11). By looking at an aggregate level, UCSB members work together to achieve that educational journey of creativity , but on an individual level, each member has varying goals for his or herself depending on his or her role. Students do not have the same goals as their professors or the Chancellor, their goal is to work to achieve their degree whereas the Chancellor s goal is to provide a thought provoking experience for his students. The mission state accommodates and supplies a different experience for each member because it is ambiguous. • 13. 7 Terraces In Dante s Comedy Love, in Dante s view, is the force behind all human action (Musa, p. 112). Similarly, Augustine believes that love is the path to happiness, stating, What was it that delighted me? Only loving and being loved (Augustine, 2, p. 62). In Dante s Divine Comedy: Purgatory, Dante tells the story of a pilgrim traveling through the seven terraces in Purgatory. On his journey, the pilgrim learns the consequences of loving even good things too much. In particular, the last three terraces of Purgatory that he visits demonstrate the dangers of loving good things with excessive zeal (Dante, 17.96). When Dante sees the fire that engulfs the seventh terrance leaving only a narrow path to walk he becomes terrified, since there was the fire, and here I could fall off (Dante, 25.116 117). The fact that there it is so easy to fall off of this narrow path symbolizes that most people do fall into the sin of lust, and very few are able to stay on the narrow path of not falling into this sin. Through this book, Dante has been making this journey to finally see his lover, Beatrice, who died several years ago. Although Beatrice symbolizes faith, she also is the object of Dante s lust. When Dante finally sees Beatrice, he senses Signs of the ancient flame (Dante, 30.48). This flame represents the lust he had for Beatrice. Even though, Dante has passed the seven terraces he still does not fully love God. Dante gave mind and eye to satisfying her, over satisfying God (Dante, 32.108), and his attention is solely fixed on Beatrice who reigned completely in [his] mind (Dante, 32.93). It is not until Dante realizes that Beatrice represents faith in God and revelations that, What [he] had loved the most of all the thing that were not she, [he] hated now the most (Dante, 31.86 87). • 15. Short Essay On Bedbugs Bedbugs may be little creatures but they are great hitchhikers, very much capable of moving from one infected site to another. They secretly hide on bedding, clothing, boxes, luggage, and furniture. But if you really want to sleep like a baby at night and not undergo another bed bug war, here are some tips to keep the little bloodsuckers out of your bedand hopefully out of your house too. 1. Make Sure that Your Bed Frame Has Feet One of the most important things that you need to do is to ensure that your bed has feet. If it currently doesn t have feet, you can always go to a nearby home store and purchase an affordable and simple bed frame. Once the bedbugs are inside, they can no longer climb up the bed frame. Choose the bed bug coasters that contain compartments because you can track where bed bugs are coming from or how they go up from the ground and hide under the sheets. 3. If Possible, Move Your Bed Away from Walls or Furniture This tip is not always possible for every homeowner as some are living in a small space. So, depending on the size of your room, you can opt to position your bed away from the wall or the furniture. If you can also put it away from anything that touches the bed, it would be much better. The reason is simple: these walls or furniture linked to the bed is giving bed bugs a way to cross and reach your bed while you are sleeping, which of course spells nightmares. You can keep the bed at least one foot away. Also, bed bugs are not really capable of jumping from the wall to your bed. So, even if the gap is just one inch, it would also be okay as long as your bed covers do not also touch the furniture or wall around the bed. 4. Don t Let the Bed Cover Touch the Floor or ... In ancient societies, people looked at dreaming as some kind of supernatural communication and dreams are fascinating mysteries. To begin the discussion of dreams, it is important to note that dreams are often considered an extension of consciousness. In other words, dreams can be a way the brain organizes and analyzes the day to day events during sleep. Everyone dreams, however, not everyone remembers their dreams. The psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud, theorized that dreams bury themselves in unconscious emotions and as we sleep our mind releases these emotions in the form of dreams. He also theorized that dreams are ways in which people act out suppressed desires. The Interpretation of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This theory was a good method of explaining dreams, but it did not predict behavior. In other words, one cannot prove or refute the validity of Freud s theory. According to Ciccarelli and White (2015), many of today s professionals no longer appreciate Freud s dream theory (151). Nevertheless, Freud s legacy lives on as The Father of Psychoanalysis (Robinson 2011) and a pioneer in the study of dreams. Even though, the theory proposed by Freud appears decidedly unscientific. The unconscious mind was important in Freud s work and the Freudian theory emphasized that the unconscious mind governed behavior. Additionally, to study Freud, one must investigate his theory of manifest content and latent content. While reading Freud, a student learns that the actual content of the dream refers to manifest content. That is to say, the exact subject matter of the dream makes up the manifest content. At the same time, Freud believed that the real meaning of a dream referred to latent content. An individual s personal interpretations define the latent content in Freud s theory. Although rarely recognized, Freud s career was first and foremost a practitioner Moran 2010). As a psychotherapist Freud believed that dreams come from deep in the unconscious mind. Perhaps even from things suppressed since childhood. The study of dreams helped Freud understand the process of psychoanalyzing people and he believed dreams were a ... • 20. Arguments Against Egalitarianism In this essay, I will explain the view of prioritarianism as an alternative to egalitarianism, as it avoids the main problem facing egalitarianism. Albeit that prioritarianism withstands this problem, it brings with it more problems than it solves, so I will then refute prioritarianism and suggest we instead move to sufficientarianism. In Derek Parfit s Equality and Priority (1997) he introduces the idea of prioritarianism as an alternative to egalitarianism, this is to avoid the levelling down objection that egalitarianism faces. Egalitarianism claims that there is intrinsic moral value in some sort of equality, be it justice, opportunity, resources etc. (Arneson, 2013). The levelling down objection claims that there can be a case where... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prioritarianism claims that people who are worse off should be given moral priority over those who are better off (Parfit, 1997, p. 213). If we imagine a society where there are rich people and very rich people, and another society where there are very poor people and poor people, and getting people from very poor to poor gives the same increase in utility as going from rich to very rich. Then, according to egalitarianism, getting people from rich to very rich would be just as good as getting people from very poor to poor. Prioritarianism, however, claims that getting people from very poor to poor matters more because they are worse off, even though the total increase in utility would be the same as getting the rich people to very rich. The prioritarian claim is not one of aiming to reduce equality, as if there was just one person in the world who is worse off, and no one else exists, we would be just be obliged to give him just as much benefit as we would a world where there are also other people who were better off. Benefiting those who are worse off is not relative to those who are better off, it is an absolute (Parfit, 1997). Prioritarianism avoids the levelling down objection because if we imagine the case where there are very rich people and very poor people, as we are not aiming for equality, making the very rich very poor would bring no good. A prioritarian would only be motivated to benefit the very poor as they re the ones who are worse off (Parfit, 1997). This is more in line with moral intuitions, making prioritarianism a more attractive view than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My first challenge as a semi openly gay man was precariously holding the rank of Life Scout in my local Boy Scout Troop. There was a movement of scouts who, having earned the rank of Eagle, mailed back their badge accompanied by a letter stating they would not accept the organization s award until they allowed both gay scouts and adults. Thus, I was inspired to do the same and reject scouting s highest rank. Ironically enough, I was on the Amtrak train to New Mexico for my Philmont backpacking trip when the Supreme Court ruled banning gay marriage unconstitutional. Expectations for this experiment would to successfully obtain credible information behind the mixed unknown and be able to isolate both the gram negative and gram positive bacterium. In order to obtain the correct test results and to ensure the right gram mixed unknown is identified there had to be a series of eight biochemical tests performed on the gram negative bacterium and five biochemical tests performed on the gram positive bacterium. Introduction The sole purpose behind this conduction was having the ability to understand just how the gram negative and gram positive bacteria can be distinguished and identified when mixed together into one broth. Understanding the basic characteristics as to why each bacterium has the ability to dye certain colors and retain those colors. The gram positive bacteria has the ability to retain the crystal violet color and remain purple as for gram negative bacteria, they cannot hold the purple color and decolorizes when the ethanol hit its. The gram negative bacterium does have the ability to retain the counterstain, which is a pink to red color. This happens because of the thickness of the peptidoglycan layer, in the gram positive the layer is 20 80 nm thick and have a multiply amount of layers but for the gram negative they only have a thin 1 3 nm thick one layered layer (Badon, 2014). Michael Kimmel, famous sociologist said, Masculinity is the relentless repudiation of the feminine (Kimmel, 2015), which not only reflects how men think about themselves but how North Americans as an entire culture think about masculinityand manhood. The following pages will be centered on issues of the lens of masculinity in contexts such as the sphere of education, the predominance and dependence of social relationships, and most importantly fatherhood, which will be of a larger focus as the maleenters adulthood. As a child, women and men are predominantly on the same page. With the exception of their shared interests and activities. As a child grows up, the classroom setting starts to highlight the differences between both boys and girls. Most often, education is catered towards girls and the learning styles that girls flourish in (Vincent Ball, 2007). Girls outperform boys in almost every subject when they are elementary school age (Vincent Ball, 2007) because in the classroom, it is taught that the qualities with being a good student are most often synonymous with being a good girl, and here is where you can see a dichotomy begin to occur (Vincent Ball, 2007). • 42. The Ancient Inventions Of The Future The Ancient inventions of the future Socrates was one of the greatest philosophers of the ancient world. His teachings inspired young philosophers to go and explore the world. In addition, His Knowledge even influenced boundless minds like Plato, who help make gigantic pushes in geometry. Or Aristotle, who mad giant leaps in astronomy (also made a theory that the earth was round in about 384 B. C.). therefore, a new era of philosophy was inaugurated and the course of western civilization was decisively shaped. Modern mathematics, Medicine, and cartographywas all modernized during this age of philosophy. Without the Greeks, present ideals and the way we live our life would not be the same. So it is important that we know what the Greeks invented and their power over our civilization. First of all, the use the same form of democracy that we use in America. They decided that a dictator would have too much control and power. So they got a cabinet of over 500 people for democratic voting. They voted on taxes all the way up to executions. It worked a lot like our jury system, with people randomly chosen to serve. As it was said by Scott J. Cooper; Demokratia, Greek for power of the people, was born in Athens in the 7th century BC. As the city state s oligarchy exploited citizens and created economic, political and social problems, Athenians were inspired by the successful, semi democratic model Sparta had adopted. There is a low chance that an up and coming company can pose as a real threat to either one of these three companies. There is a huge amount of money that needs to be brought about to compete. • 45. The Importance Of Humanitarian Intervention The international community has a responsibility to protect citizens against the gross human rights abuses of their states. This statement leads into the discussion of the two main doctrines that relate to human rights violations, the first being humanitarian intervention which has existed for many centuries, and places emphasis on the powers of state having the duty to protect its citizens, and if this is ignored, the international community has rights to step in. Despite the fact that, in theory, this intervention doctrine has many flaws starting with the failures seen in crisis areas such as Somalia, Bosnia and Kosovoand the debate on whether it compromises a state s sovereignty. These faults led to the creation of the newer Responsibility to Protect (R2P) doctrine, which, in its own capacity, has many faults and failures, but has seen some small victories in region such as Libya and Syria in recent years. Humanitarian intervention is by no means a new idea, it has in fact been dated back to as early the 1600 s, when Hugo Grotius promoted the idea that a ruler should be rightly dealt with if they were found to have inflicted inhumane treatment upon their subjects (Haslett, 2014). • 48. Fat Women In Grace Nichols s Fat Black Woman Being fat and being woman is more than just a physical appearance or characteristic that describe a body. Being a fat woman explores predominant conditions about size and gender that denote male power, beauty prejudice and fatphobia (Atayurt, 2010). Grace Nichols in her Fat Black WomanВґs poem (1984) assertively frames the overweight black female figure from its triple displaced position and exchanges this appearance into the realm of power and bodily pride , challenging different social and cultural realities (Atayurt, 2010, p. 1). Likewise the feminist fat acceptance movementportrays fat female from its undesirable connotation and challenges these negative social, political and cultural assumptions, eliminating the structural barriers fat women face. Feminist fat acceptance movement attempts to equate fat stigma with other forms of oppression (racism, classism, ableism, ageism, etc.) due to the political importance of these single fights (Chastain, 2015). In fact, fat individuals are as diverse as any other group of people such as fat queer people, fat people with disabilities, fat black people or fat indigenous people (Chastain, 2015). Indeed, also fat women have been exposed to various oppressions and rigorous beauty standards (James, 2013), medicalized discourses (Afful Ricciardelli, 2015), political expectations and health public narratives that condemn large bodies (Friedman, 2012). Therefore, how does the socioeconomic and political context influence the gendered anti fat narratives? In fact, the gendered anti fat discussions are perpetuated and proliferated across Canada. • 49. My Six Fundamental Pillars Of Character 1.Loyalty. I chose loyalty as my first pillar of my Six Fundamental Pillars of Character because loyalty has been something I have cherished for my entire life. I believe being a loyal friend and /or family member is the most important characteristic for anyone to have. I believe this because if one does not have loyalty, what is their purpose? Loyalty is important to me because I personally want loyalty from others, so I provide loyalty to others. I have always lived my life on the concept that you get what you put in. In response to that, I am loyal to others with hope that others will be loyal to me. This pillar is most important in my relationship with Kylee. I am loyal to Kylee, as she is loyal to me. Without loyalty in our relationship, our feelings for each other would not be as strong, if present at all. Honesty. Honesty is most important to someone who is seeking the characteristic of loyalty. One who is dishonest, is not a loyal person. To be loyal, you must be entrusted to tell the truth and nothing but the truth at all times. Educated. One who is loyal, must be educated enough to be someone to rely one. If someone wants to be trusted but is not wise enough to treat their trust correctly, they are not loyal. The loyal person must know how to take things into perspective and know how to relate to the situation and act accordingly. Dedicated. To be loyal, one must be dedicated to their characteristic. They must be success driven, timely and organized in EVERY situation. If the loyal person is only loyal to one person, or in only some situations, they are not truly a loyal person. Kind. A loyal person must also be kind enough to be approachable. If a person isn t kind enough to be approached, they cannot be labelled as loyal, because they aren t given the chance to prove they are. But, at the same time they must also be realistic, and know how to help. 2.Safe. My second pillar is my characteristic of safety.
