This project is based on the development of a solar based compressor free mini fridge. This fridge is suitable for cooling purposes meant for small objects and have a relatively small chilling time as compared to the normal refrigeration systems.

to two dissimilar conductors, a circuit can be created that
allows for continuous heat transport between the
conductor’s junctions. The Seebeck Effect- is the reverse
of the Peltier Effect. By applying heat to two different

SUMMARY
The range of COP for the Solar VAdRS is 0.2 - 0.7. The development of adsorption system for refrigeration is promising. An overall thermodynamics-based comparison of sorption systems shows that the performance of adsorption systems depends highly on both the adsorption pairs and processes. The technology continues to develop and the cost of producing power with solar thermal adsorption refrigeration is falling. If the costs of fossil fuels, transportation, energy conversion, electricity transmission and system maintenance are taken into account, the cost of energy produced by solar thermal adsorption systems would be much lower than that for conventional refrigeration systems.
The intermittent system has its simplicity and cost effectiveness. However, the main disadvantages such as long adsorption/desorption time have become obstacles for commercial production of the system. Hence, to compete with conventional vapor compression technologies, more efforts should be made in enhancing the COP and SCP. The environmental benefits of this technology and its non-dependence on conventional energy sources makes it highly attractive for further developments and a potential alternative to conventional systems in the future. The future of solar refrigeration and air conditioning seems to be a very good proposition and no doubt will find its place in future industrial applications. The major limiting factor at present is the shape of energy so as to make it available whenever it is required, for example at nights and extended cloudy days when we cannot attain a high enough temperature.

Abstract This paper describes design and fabrication of dessert cooler with certain modifications so that it can be used as low cost air conditioner. The cooling in conventional cooler is done along Wet Bulb Temperature line that reduces Dry Bulb Temperature but simultaneously it increases specific humidly. This paper aims to reduce this humidity with the use of peltier module. This system provides better results than that of conventional cooler. This paper presents the designs and the simulation of a DC fan control system based on room temperature using pulse width modulation technique, humidity and temperature sensor namely DHT11 with Arduino Uno Microcontroller. The fan will be used to reduce temperature of a room at certain level. To build the fan, we will use DTH11 Humidity Sensor. The sensor will measure the temperature continuously. When the temperature gets higher from a specific temperature, the fan will be on “On” mode. The speed of the fan will be determined by pwm using pulse-width modulation. The temperature along with the speed of the fan will be displayed through LCD monitor.

3. PROJECT INTRODUCTION
The portable refrigeration unit design team
collaborated to create an alternative energy
powered absorption refrigerator. The design
uses energy to power the unit, allowing it to
be completely off of the electric grid.
The basic principle of an absorption
refrigeration system is that it uses a source
of heat to provide the energy needed to drive
the cooling process

with consumption of
electrical energy,
depending on the
direction of the current.
6. PALTIER EFFECT
The thermoelectric refrigerator works on the
PELTIER effect that The Peltier–Seebeck
effect, or thermoelectric effect, is the direct
conversion of thermal differentials to electric
voltage and vice versa. Related effects are
the Thomson effect and Joule heating.
The Peltier–Seebeck and Thomson effects
are reversible (in fact, the Peltier and
Seebeck effects are reversals of one
another); Joule heating cannot be reversible
under the laws of thermodynamics.
8. SEEDBECK EFFECT
The Seebeck effect is the conversion of
temperature differences directly into
electricity.
The effect is that a voltage, the
thermoelectric EMF, is created in the
presence of a temperature difference
between two different metals or
semiconductors. This causes a continuous
current to flow in the conductors if they form
a complete loop. The voltage created is of
the order of several microvolts per degree
10. COOLING SYSTEM
Thermoelectric coolers are solid state heat
pumps used in applications where temperature
stabilization, temperature cycling, or cooling
below ambient are required.
There are many products using thermoelectric
coolers, including CCD cameras (charge coupled
device), laser diodes, microprocessors, blood
analyzers and portable picnic coolers.
The typical thermoelectric module is
manufactured using two thin ceramic wafers with
a series of P and N doped bismuth-telluride
semiconductor material sandwiched between
them

Solar Panel is an array of several solar cells (Photovoltaic
cells).
The arrays can be formed by connecting them in
parallel or series connection depending upon
the energy required.
