This document presents a study on the usage of social tagging and bookmarking applications among academic librarians, highlighting its potential to enhance resource discovery and user participation in libraries. While many librarians are not currently utilizing these tools, they express an intention to adopt them in the future, recognizing the benefits despite concerns over vocabulary control and user awareness. The study suggests the necessity of training users on the advantages of these applications and indicates that further research could explore user perspectives on social tagging in library contexts.
