Social Psychology Essays
Writing an essay on the subject of social psychology can be both challenging and intellectually
rewarding. The difficulty arises from the intricate nature of social interactions and the multitude
of theories and concepts within the field. The depth of understanding required to tackle this
topic requires a comprehensive grasp of psychological theories, empirical research, and real-world
applications.
One of the challenges is navigating through the various perspectives within social psychology,
which may include symbolic interactionism, social cognitive theory, social identity theory, and
more. Each theory offers unique insights into the complexities of human behavior within social
contexts, making it essential for the writer to critically evaluate and integrate these perspectives
cohesively.
Furthermore, social psychology often delves into sensitive topics such as prejudice, conformity,
aggression, and interpersonal relationships. Addressing these issues with the required sensitivity
and nuance demands a careful balance between objectivity and empathy. It is crucial to present a
well-reasoned argument supported by empirical evidence while acknowledging the ethical
considerations inherent in studying human behavior.
The research process for a social psychology essay can also be demanding. Analyzing empirical
studies, conducting literature reviews, and synthesizing information from various sources require
meticulous attention to detail. Crafting a thesis statement that captures the essence of the essay
and guides the reader through a coherent argument adds an additional layer of complexity.
Despite these challenges, delving into the world of social psychology provides an opportunity
for personal growth and a deeper understanding of human behavior. Effectively communicating
complex ideas and findings in a clear and concise manner is a skill that can be honed through the
process of essay writing.
In conclusion, while the task of composing an essay on social psychology may be daunting, the
rewards lie in the knowledge gained and the development of critical thinking and writing skills.

Cma 76ers Research Paper
17. Philadelphia 76ers USA TODAY Sports The Philadelphia 76ers just completed
their second straight season with fewer than 20 wins, and that was unfortunately
the goal. To the confusion of many NBA fans, this simply means that everything is
going to plan in the city of brotherly love. General manager Sam Hinkie, is sticking
to his rebuilding plan of asset collecting, and it is bound to pay off for Philly at some
point. The question is; how long will it take for the 76ers to finally build a
respectable team? The biggest X factor for the Sixers is second year big man Joel
Embiid. Embiid is one of the rare players that has the distinct possibility of being
out of the league or a top 10 player in the NBA five years from now. After missing
his entire rookie season with a foot injury, Embiid will be forced to miss another
season after aggravating his foot. It would be a big boost for the Sixers future if
Embiid could come back and avoid being labeled the next Greg Oden. Despite not
having Embiid s services this season, the 76ers will still have two very talented
young big men in Jahlil... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Okafor does need to improve in these areas, people are forgetting what an
incredible talent Okafor is. Okafor has a polished post game for just a one and
done player. Not many players can walk into the NBA as a rookie and average 18
points and 8 rebounds, but Okafor has that potential. Nerlens Noel made his much
anticipated debut for Philly last season after missing the entire 2013 14 campaign
with a torn ACL. Noel averaged 11.6 points and 9.5 rebounds on his way to All
Rookie First Team honors. The most impressive part of Noel s game is his
versatility on the defensive end. Noel has the speed to switch onto perimeter threats
and is an outstanding rim protector. Noel accomplished the rare feat of finishing in
the top 10 in both steals and blocks per
Summary Of All Sound Dies
Story
All sound dies when my 8 month old daughter, Lisa, stops crying and sleeps. We sit
in silence for a while, watching as the streetlights turn on past us. My wife, Mika is
sitting to my right. She s just begging someone, anyone to spark a conversation. The
driver is probably exhausted from yuppie businessmen who insist on a better route
and have the indecency to yell their business lingo into their phones. I know that
feeling. My publisher is giving me grief for not having any good ideas. I ve created a
town, but not much else.

Do you have a little one in your life?
Oh god no. People my age shouldn t have little ones in our lives.
Good. At least I know you can make good decisions.
But I wish my father was like you, sir.
The driver goes on. He talks about a man. A drunk, but a quiet, complacent drunk.
Someone who aspired for more. Someone who wanted to take his family somewhere
and never look back. But it s someone who couldn t get his life together and has
cursed his son to follow in his footsteps.
Poor bloke. Where could he possibly end up in this story?
Sounds good. I think I ll write that down.
When we arrive, the meter says twenty seventy five. I hand Mika my wallet and I
step out, walking to the other side of the car to open her door. She gives him twenty
five and tells him to keep the change.
Thanks for the lift. And don t worry so much about your father. I m sure he ll be fine.
The driver seems genuinely touched. But I think daddy is lucky to be alive for this
long.

Mika and I stroll through the park on the main street of town. While Mika is
pushing Lisa in the stroller, I m enjoying a pleasant single cone strawberry ice

Mika isn t in the mood for ice cream and it s a shame that Lisa can t have any.
Mika spots a familiar face out in the distance. I look around and see a young man

Disaster Prevention And Reduction Strategy
General:Natural disasters are inevitable and it is not possible to get full control over
them. The history of human civilization reveals that man has been combating with
natural disasters from its origin but natural disasters like floods, cyclones,
earthquakes, volcanic eruptions have various times not only disturbed the normal life
pattern but also caused huge losses to life and property, and interrupted the process of
development. Disaster Risk Management:With the technological advancement man
tried to combat with these natural disasters through various ways like developing
early warning systems for disasters, adopting new prevention measures, proper relief
and rescue measures. But unfortunately it is not true for all natural... Show more

Recognition of the hazard is one of the most important components of Disaster
Management. For any Hazard analysis, zonation of the area is very important. For
seismic hazard analysis there are two methods of zonation Macrozonation and
Microzonation. Macrozonation is used for seismic zonation at regional level on
small scale considering broad parameters, while microzonation is mainly used for
urban area considering local parameters and site conditions for seismic hazard
analysis, at large scale. Local soil conditions has significant role on amplification of
seismic waves, it being experienced in the past earthquakes. Seismic response
analysis is useful to predict the design ground motion site for

framework at the national or regional level with the following aspects clearly defined.
Position of seismic microzonation in the construction practice and urban planning.
Methodologies for data collection, evaluation and zonation.
Seismic regulation that includes codes, laws and documentation, such as guidelines,
recommendations, and manuals. The main assessment and management of earthquake
risk concepts are from the Guidelines for Evaluating and Mitigating Seismic Hazards

How Does Religion Create Bias
Religion creates bias. Bias controls decisions. Decisions run countries. Ever since
there was Religion, it has been affecting the decisions people make, and ever since
there was politics, it has been affecting the decisions people make in politics. Not
only that, but sources indicate that religious influence in political decision making
has been growing recently. Religionhas always been, and will remain to be a critical
factor in politics.
Many of the world s governments, especially those of western societies, are
democracies. Webster dictionary defines a democracy as, a form of government in
which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or
by their elected agents under a free electoral system . Through this, it is extremely
apparent that the individual views, morals, biases and ideologies of citizens within
the democracy would build it up to its whole, likely partisan, self. There are many
ways in which someone may develop a bias, such as indoctrination from an early
age. Parents will most likely project their own bias onto their children, this bias was
collected by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is no secret that businesses and labour unions have a huge say in politics. The
labour movement was charged by a group called the Noble and Holy Order of the
Knights of Labor; this group was run by strong followers of the Catholic faith. The
views expressed by this group transferred on to the views of many people involved
in the labour movement, and later transferred on to the views of modern labour
unions. Many widespread companies, such as Forever 21, In N Out Burger (and
several other fast food chains for some reason), JetBlue (and several other airlines for
some reason), and Timberland, are run by religious fundamentalists who project their
(occasionally bigoted) views upon their customers and employees. These
fundamentalists are almost all Christians, with the occasional
American Hurricane
A strong hurricane normally has three factors that make it so destructive, Death,
Destruction and the area impacted (the great new england hurricane). The great
hurricane of 1938 certainly had three factors, but what factors made the hurricane s
impact so powerful, and what was the impact like The first of three hurricanes that
had a large effect on the New England area is considered a strong hurricane for three
particular reasons. The conditions that made it so powerful, the absurd amount of
human error in a weather system almost riddled with ignorance and the blunt and
forceful impact it had on an unexpecting region. To explain the first condition that
made the storma hurricane, one must go to the Cape Verde Islands (youtube). The
islands sit near a one hundred and twenty foot deep pool of warm water(youtube).
Warm water, being a necessity when creating a hurricane makes it obvious why this
hurricane along with so many others, are formed here(youtube). The hurricane then
traveled across the atlantic, all that time gaining strength hit long island as a category

have concered people who are against the idea because of some issues people have

Pros and Cons of Assessments
Pros and Cons of Assessment Assessments are an everyday occurrence in classrooms
around the world. There are many different types of assessments, which generally fall
into formal and informal. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. The major
importance is selecting the right assessment. It is up to the teacher to decide what
information is needed and how that information is collected. Formal Assessments
Formal assessments are a way of observing and recording information in a highly
structured manner. It typically requires a large amount of preparation and training.

Informal formative assessment can take place in any student teacher interaction
(Ruiz Primo amp; Furtak, 2004). Typically informal assessments do not involve a
lot of prior preparations. Some informal assessments that I personally use on a
consistent basis are checklists, observation, portfolios and clickers: Checklists The
one that I use most frequently are checklists. I use checklists for every subject at
every point in the school day. In a special education class with numerous staff
members, it can be difficult to ensure that data is being collected thoroughly. In our
classroom, we use checklists to track behaviors, to ensure that students are meeting
their IEP goals, knowledge of their sight words, that they are completing their work,
and last but not least are the students grasping the concept that is being taught. The
quickness and easiness to use the checklists are a major advantage. Another
advantage is that teachers are able to have results quickly. With these quick results,
teachers can address the issues being observed instantly. A disadvantage is that
different people may interpret the checklists in different ways. This can lead to
confusion on what needs to truly be addressed. Another disadvantage is that with
certain areas to watch for, other areas might be overlooked. Observations
Observations are one of the easiest forms
Thief Zusak s Roles In The Book Thief
Understanding the roles of the archetypes can help us to sympathise with the
characters and evaluate the roles they play in the story. These roles also contribute to
the way Zusak represents good and evil in the novel. The role of the scapegoat can be
reflected onto many characters in the book thief, and understanding how it
contributes to the story can help us to be sympathetic and understanding towards
certain characters.
Max s identity as a jew often causes him to take the blame for many of societies
problems, as well as issues that appear in The Book Thief. German society at the
time generally blamed lots of their problems on Jews, which lowered their ranks in
German society and made it harder for them to live. An example of this in the ... Show

However, in The Book Thief Zusak represents death as a tormented being who is
forced into taking the souls of humans away from their loved ones, which helps
Zusak to present Death as a character with good intentions, despite the prejudice
placed on his character. The idea of death causes him to be blamed for the actual
Death of people, whereas Death explains that it is actually humans who are usually
at fault for deaths. You want to know what I truly look like? I ll help you out. Find
yourself a mirror while I continue. (pg. 329) The essence of Death that Zusak
presents in The Book Thief is that of a tormented, aching being who is haunted by
his daily whereabouts, but in human culture death is viewed as a very cruel being
and his feelings or thoughts aren t really considered. Please, trust me. I most
definately can be cheerful. I can amiable. Agreeable. Affable, And that s only the A

even feels regretful towards some of the humans he must take. A small

Summary Of My Name Is Joey Tribbiani And I
My name is Joey Tribbiani and I live in an apartment with my friend Chandler
Geller. I am a very talented actor. My friends live right next to us. We visit them
daily and meet up at the coffee house next to us in Manhattan,New York City my
home. And the big thing about me is that I have a superpower. My superpower is
Telekinesis and nobody will ever know. I found out I had this ability when I was 10
years old. I was lying in my home just outside of Queens and everything just started
to fly everywhere when I was frustrated because I was not allowed to go to my friends
birthday party because it was snowing and my mom thought I would catch a cold. I
have learned to control superpower and I use it alot when nobody is around
including my best friends Chandler Geller, Rachel Smith, Monica Green and Ross
Bing. But my life has changed now.
When Chandler said he would go shopping for some food in our apartment he
never came back. There Is now a criminal in my life. He kidnapped my Chandler
and left a note at our apartment. It said if I wanted to see Chandler again meet on
in Central Park at 12:00 AM! He also said if I notify the police he will murder
Chandler. If you bring any one with me he will still kill Chandler. I raced across
the hall to tell Monica and rachel. Right after after I told them they cried a little but
I had no time to comfort them because I had to save Chandler. I have to go save him
at Central park. But why would Chazz even know me? What does he want with me?
Nursery Rhymes
Nursery Rhymes Baa Baa Black Sheep , Jack and Jill , and Peter, Peter Pumpkin
Eater are very well known around the world. They are told to our children at a
young age and are remembered forever. Should they really be told and remembered?
There is a lot of dark twisted violent meanings behind some of these simple nursery
rhymes. Ring around the Rosy , Humpty Dumpty, Rock a Bye, Baby , London Bridge
, Jack be Nimble and Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary are some of the rhymes I can
vividly remember from my childhood. They have some very dark meanings about
what you would not want to tell your children when they re so young. Humpty

This seems to be very twisted, right from the beginning to the end. The hidden
meaning behind this rhyme, is that the nursery rhyme refers to the rise and fall of
Anne Boleyn. She was the second wife of King Henry VIII. Anne Boleyn was
accused of incest and adultery. And in the end, was locked up and ultimately
executed for treason. Yet again another dark and violent nursery rhyme (Brainz).
Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack jump over the candle stick. (Europe) Such a
catchy rhyme, wouldn t you say? You think to yourself, jumping over candle
sticks, what s the point? This simple nursery rhyme has a very different meaning
than someone would expect. It s about Black Jack, the English pirate. He was well
known for always escaping from the authorities in the 16th century. Hence the line
Jack be nimble . Also the jumping over a candle stick line is believed to be related
the old English game candle stick jumping. Candle stick jumping was originally a
sport of jumping over fires. But was deemed far too dangerous and then was
outlawed. It was sonly replaced with the far less dangerous sport of candlestick
jumping. Other than those two things there is not much they can go on because the
rhyme is so short (Alchin). Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary is also known to a lot of
people. It seems like such a sweet rhyme, having to do with this little girl planting
flowers and putting little decorations on them to make this really beautiful garden.

The Specificity of Albumin Binding Experiment
The specificity of albumin binding experiment was to determine the binding
interactions that occur between serum albumin and three synthetic dyes with the use
of electrophoretic procedure. Whole blood, or plasma. Clots upon standing and if the
clot is removed, the remaining straw colored fluid is called serum. The major protein
in serum is albumin which functions as a carrier molecule for the transport of certain
small molecular weight compounds in blood. Molecules that bind to serum albumin
are fatty acids, hormones and some synthetic dyes. In this experiment the synthetic
dyes used are Bromophenol Blue, Ponceau S and Orange G. we observed that free
dyes not bound to albumin migrate faster that albumin or dyes bound to albumin. This

Group 1, the gel picture and Andersons experiment are closely related. The binding

because no Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) was present in the mixture. While in lanes
2 to 4 binding did occur because there was BSA in the mixture, with the higest
binding occurring in lane 4, this is because there was no buffer to interrupt the
binding. (saturation).
Group 6, which is the 2nd half of the gel picture, does not correspond with Anderson
results, no visible binding occurred. This group had two different dyes and SDS
included in the mixture also. In Andersons version although two different dyes were
used, it didn t affect his results, it s the SDS that

Formal Analysis of a Piece of Art: Pay Up or Shut Up
Shepard Fairey s piece titled Pay Up or Shut Up is a representation of the role that
money or your role in society dictate the power of your speech. This piece of art by
Fairey was released in May of 2015. It is a screen print on cream speckletone paper.
Pay Up or Shut Up is centered around the colors red, white, and blue. This is due to
the topic of the screen print dealing with issues in the United States. In the picture
there is a man staring to the top right of the page and there is a hand covering the
man s mouth coming from the bottom left of the page. The man is wearing a
blackish blue suit jacket. The trim of the lapel is a cream color. The man s hair is
made up mostly of red, with small hints of brown and white. The mans skin is a
white cream color. On the right side of the man s face there is a shadow composed
of a red and a grey. The hand covering the man s mouth is composed mostly of a
white cream color and some hints of red and grey where the shadows are seen on
the hand. The arm stretching from the bottom left of the picture has a sleeve with a
simple design of the American flag. The color in this picture is very vibrant.
Without the red, shades of yellow, and the off colored white this would almost be a
black and white picture. From all of the color used in the work of art the main focus
is the point where the hand is
Should Nuclear Power Plants Be Banned
Should nuclear power plants be banned?
Nuclear power plants have been around for many years. The first nuclear power
plant was built in 1954. The controversy over them is whether they are harmful or
beneficial to the environment and to humans. We as humans tend use a lot of energy.
Nuclear power plants are so called a strong candidate for supplying our energy. There
are many harmful remarks on nuclear power plants, and today I am here to talk
about why they should be potentially reduced if not banned. For starters it can lead
to cancer for children young of age, it can be used a weapon for destroying or
targeting our country, and how expensive they are related to other fuel factors. For
instance, nuclear power plants are shown to have an effect on kids with cancer.
According to Ten Strikes Against Nuclear Power, There are growing concerns that
living near even accident free nuclear plants increases the risk for childhood
leukemia and other cancers. One Texas study found increased cancer rates in north
central Texas since a nuclear power plant was established in 1990, and a recent
German study found childhood leukemia clusters near several nuclear power sites
in Europe (source 2). These power plants are causing innocent kids to get cancer
and leukemia which plays a huge role in a child s life who suffers from one. Even
though it is accident free it can still lead to other types of accidents. In many cases
nuclear power plants can be used as a weapon for many things involving nuclear.
According to Ten Strikes Against Nuclear Power, Nuclear reactors represent a
clear national security risk, and an attractive target for terrorists (source 2).
Nuclear missiles, bombs, and other sorts of weapons can be used to destroy or
target our country. Robert Kennedy had found out that there are at least eight
relatively easy ways to cause a major meltdown at a nuclear power plant (source 2).
Most nuclear power plants are used as a target and advantage for war on other
countries, including ours. In addition to the reasons why nuclear power plants are
harmful is the fact that they cost so much money to build. According to What is
Nuclear? Nuclear reactors are generally large and complex, with lots of reinforced

How Did Fillipo Brunelleschi Build The Florence Cathedral
The Florence cathedral was lacking an enclosed ceiling. A contest was held
awarding 200 gold florins and eternal fame to the architect who could successfully
design a beautiful domed ceiling. The ceiling had to be 150 feet across and start
180 feet in the air without collapsing. The dome needed to fit onto the octagonal
walls already in place and the design also had to exclude the popular gothic styled
flying buttresses used in Milan, Florences archenemy.
Though at first they scoffed at Filippo Brunelleschi for his ingenious design of a
double dome, they eventually acknowledged his genius and hired him to be co
superintendent over his design with his arch rival. This provided many difficulties
and skullduggery which Brunelleschi was

German Shepards are cop dogs so they are both friendly but protective and smart and

Explain The Concepts Of Reflection, Refraction,
Dispersion...
Introduction
In this experiment four different experiments were performed to explain the concepts
of reflection, refraction, dispersion and Brewster s angle. The purpose of the first
experiment is to analyze the incidence and reflection angle to understand how light
reflects off a flat, convex, or concave mirror. In the second experiment a lightray is
passed through a rhombus prism to discover the relationship between the angle of
refraction and incidence. For the third experiment calculations were made to find
indices for the color of light that passed through an acrylic rhomboid. This experiment
depicted dispersion. Finally, the last experiment conducted dealt with the angle
reflection and angle of refraction. Using polarizing lens to ... Show more content on

After the mirror had been traced, it was taken off the paper and a line was
sketched at the halfway point. A ruler was used to draw the line outside of the
traced mirror. The line was the normal line. Also, inside the tracing on the line 1.8
cm was measured and labeled. Then a line was drawn from the point opposite to the
concave side and extended outside of the outline. Another line was sketched with the
ruler from the point of opposite to the convex side and extended a few centimeters
past the outline. See Figure A
During, the procedure the first step involved placing the mirror with all three sides
to fit into the outline. The light source was pointed at the side of the flat mirror.
There was an incident and reflection ray both were traced. When the mirror was
removed, the lines were measured using a protractor to retrieve the angle
measurements. This process was repeated for the concave and convex sides. The
data is shown in table 1A, 2A, 3A.
Note: The data tables will be included in the Data Analysis section. Figure A
Theory B: Refraction
In the second experiment refraction was observed. Refraction is the bending of a
light wave which changes the speed once it hits another material. The ray of light
hitting a fast medium will slow down. Depending on the indexes of refraction the
light will either slow down or travel faster. The relationship between the indexes of
refraction and the way the light bends when passing through a

you didn t ask to be, to be taught by an older stranger about something you don t
understand. However, in the life of a human being this routine that goes on for years
is essential to our lives, as well as those older strangers who teach about subjects that
you don t understand. Those older strangers have the responsibility to pass on
knowledge to their students and the given knowledge, whether taken or not, will
determine their future. Is everyone comfortable or willingly to accept the teachings
of a total stranger? Of course not, therefore this total stranger has to have an
identification to the students, but not necessarily just a name. Teachers must develop
a relationship with their students because teacher student relationships affect a
student s academic excellence.
As a student myself I witness the rebellious outburst of students that will at no end do
everything, but be productive in class. What is the root of this refusal towards
learning? This resistance to education is a nature acquired from the famous phrase
that school is boring or school is hard and those rebellious students disengage
themselves from the class and teacher. When a child transitions into being a student
there has to be an engagement to pull them into a pleasure or some sort of ambition
for learning

IEP Meeting
The event that I attended was an IEP meeting for one of the students that I work with.
However, the parent of the student requested that the person that assist her son in the

main points that they want to discuss with the mother of the student. However, I was

The liability for slip and fall injuries is usually assigned to the people who either
own the property or are in charge of maintaining it, or both. This means that, if you
get injured at work, the liability would fall on your employer, who s responsible for
keeping the workplace safe for workers. If you get injured at your local grocery store,
the grocer can be held fully liable, or they might share the liability with their
landlord if you slipped on their sidewalk or parking
Greek Influence On Roman Architecture
The lasting structures of Rome have allowed historians to paint a picture of what
civilization looked like centuries ago. From the grand arches to the temples and
bathhouses, the development of concrete enabled the Romans to build sturdy
structures with designs largely influenced by the Greeks. In part because of this
advancement, the Roman structure was able to survive and display for the world the
expansion and influence of the Roman Empire.
While it was not of their creation, the Romans improved upon the arch upon the
realization that it s shape allowed them to create and cover large amounts of territory.
Utilizing a slave class that grew as they expanded, Rome had plenty of laborers to
complete their grand structures. The arch enabled them to cover large amounts of
land due to weight disbursement as the shape reduces the stress incurred by the
structure (Kamm, n.d.). In addition, the Romans used triumphal arches to

Duality In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
Similar to Young Goodman Brown, William Wilson is also an example of how
and why people will go to extremes to avoid duality. For Poe, the doppelganger is
also the embodiment of the narrator William Wilson s guilt and self hatred, which is
why he constantly wants to escape himself. The narrator claims that he became evil
suddenly, yet there is a gradual shift in emotions observed in his deteriorating
relationship with the doppelganger. The narrator begins his relationship with his
doppelganger as a friendly schoolboy rivalry before he realized that the other Wilson
was indeed an alter ego to himself. When the doppelganger was presumed to be
another person, and not another part of the narrator, his flaws did not matter to the
narrator. However,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite their rivalry and his budding fears, in spite of the continual anxiety
occasioned me by the rivalry of Wilson, and his intolerable spirit of contradiction, I
could not bring myself to hate him altogether (671). The narrator has some kind of
affection for William for the narrator s fear is not in himself but fear of losing to
another. Poe s displays this growth of guilt by the narrator and repression of his
doppelganger, his dual self, through distinct details of symbolism. Before the
narrator is consumed by the need to repress his duality, bright rays (674) from a
lamp enable him to vividly (674) see his doppelganger. Nevertheless, his absolute
fear of William Wilson sets in when he discovers the extent of their similarities.
After the discovery of William Wilson being his exact double, which sparks
paranoia and fear into the narrator, he becomes deathly afraid of what may be his
alter ego. In order to hide from the discovery that he might be more than meets the
eye, the narrator flees. At Eton when the narrator simply denies his duality, a faint

Front Porch Campaign Essay
The 1920 presidential election proved to be memorable as well as historically
significant for a number of reasons. This time period is surrounded by important
events in American history. It falls directly after World War I, starts the roaring
twenties, and leads the United States into the Great Depression. Warren G. Harding
was elected president over all other candidates, with promises of life going back to
normal conditions. At this point in time, American citizens were desperate for one
thing: their old normal life. The election of 1920 was important because our nation
had just gotten out of World War I, the vote ended in a landslide, and Harding changed
the United Statesfor the worse.

Rather than facing his opponent, James Cox, Harding campaigned against Wilson.
Aforementioned, Wilson was paralyzed, therefore Harding was only running
against the idea of Wilson or what he had previously stood for. He promised
America change, but not a progressive change that Wilson had provided. He gave
the people the promise of normalcy, or a promise to restore the country to the state
it was in before the war. To enforce this promise even more severely, he ran a more
personal campaign. This was called a front porch campaign and it s purpose was
to get supporters to come see and talk to him on his actual front porch. It had
worked for other presidents, but a prodigious reason he did this was to be contrary
to Wilson. Harding wanted to portray himself as calm and collected compared to
Wilson s campaign that took him and his failing ideas all over the United States.
(Pietrusza 315). This front porch campaigning separated Harding even further from
Wilson, making the public prefer him over his real opponent,
The History of Windows
Ever since the invention of the micro computer, there has been a definitive war
between companies competing for their share of the professional and private
computer market. There have been hundreds of operating systems produced over the
years, most of them were not able to maintain a solid customer base, and became
extinct. There are a few, however, that have eclipsed the computer world. There is a
definite line between consumers for the three most popular operating systems, UNIX,
Macintosh, and Windows. Microsoft, who produced Windows, gained wide public
support almost from the beginning, leading to a near monopolization of the computer
software industry. Here is a history of the Windows operating system as it was

Legal Differences And The Legal Types Of A Business...
Identify and describe the legal categories of a business organization contrasting tax
related advantages and disadvantages. There are three main forms of business
organizations that are commonly known globally; they include; Sole
Proprietorship, Partnership as well as Corporation. Looking at the Sole
proprietorship, it is conventionally known as a business run by one person who is
also the owner. This means that the owner has 100% control over the business.
This form of business organization is easy to establish since it needs very few legal
requirements. There is also no need of having partners or shareholders and the taxes
paid in this business organization is only on the income generated. That means that
after paying the taxes, all remaining profits remains with the owner. Disadvantages
of this structure include less share of expertise since the owner is the only partner.
The owner also has unlimited liability for the debts and any malpractices which also
includes bearing all maintenance costs (Beyer et al. 2010). For the partnership, it
involves more than one player who is also involved in the business structure. The
partners share all costs and profits after entering into an agreement that intends to
share any commercial interests. The partners also contribute funds to start and
operate the business as the starting capital. This means that there is a pool of
experience and resources by the two and the partners share the taxes. The

All The Light We Cannot See Love
Love is a powerful tool. It can be used for good, and it can be used for evil. As we
see in Anthony Doerr s novel, All the Light We Cannot See, in all times; doubt, pain,
triumph, anger, or even happiness, we must always have love.
To begin, we must always have love because it gives us courage. We see this when
some Russian men enter the house containing the main character s sister, Jutta,
three other girls, and their mother figure, Frau Elena. Frau Elena says, Stay calm
and they won t shoot. I ll make sure to go first. After that they ll be gentler (Doerr

We see this with Werner s sister, Jutta, who is angry that Werner wants to leave to

sister. Pflicht. It means duty. Obligation. Every german fulfilling his function
(Doerr 124). Werner truly believed he was doing the right thing by going to Nazi
School; that this was the best way to make money, avoid the mines, and fulfill his
duty. It may have seemed selfish to Jutta at the time, but in his heart, he truly did
leave out of love. The people we love don t always understand our actions, but love
keeps us on the track of morality. More importantly however, we see Werner act out
of love in a much more significant way when he finds Marie Laure s radio, but

does these broadcasts from a huge mansion, big as this whole colony [...] He walks
fast to the hotel, head down, hands in his pockets (Doerr 409). Werner s job is to
track people with radios and kill them. He even finds Marie Laure s radio antenna,
however the second he sees it, he thinks of Jutta and all the love he has for his sister.
These were the first broadcasts they d listen to as kids, and he immediately changed
his mind. Werner could have easily killed her, but he knew that was wrong. His

Why Does Sexism Exist
We are all connected to everyone and everything in the universe. Therefore,
everything one does as an individual affects the whole. All thoughts, words, images,
prayers, blessings, and deeds are listened to by all that is ( Serge Kahili King
Quote ). What this means is, everyone is connected in one way or another, so when
something happens, it affects everything in this world, from the smallest bacteria, to
the largest whale and everything in between. In this following paragraph, I m going
to tell you about Melanie Martinez and how she grew up to become the singer that
she is today. Melanie Martinez was born on April 28, 1995 in Astoria, Queens. She

I personally feel like sexism is an issue because of the way people were raised and
what they believe. Sexism is discrimination and stereotypes against a gender. It is
most commonly against women and girl( Gina Masequesmay ). Some people
believe that men are better than women, and women are emotional and weak, so
they aren t good leaders and shouldn t be in control of anything social, political, or
anything business related. Since women are believed to be weaker than men, our
work isn t valued as much as a man s work( Gina Masequesmay ). An extreme
version of sexism is misogyny. Misogyny is the hatred of women. In societies that
have a high concentration of misogyny, there is a very high rate of violence to
women, where there is domesticated abuse and they are raped and treated like
property. The only solution to gender equality is to change the sexist institutions
and culture( Gina Masequesmay ). Feminism is believing that everyone should be
equal. The feminist movement fought for the abolishment of sexism and the
establishment of women s rights as equal under the law . The statement was also
said that the disentanglement of gender from biological sex was an
accomplishment in a large part of feminism which claimed that one s sex does not
predict anything about one s ability ( Gina Masequesmay ). But, some people also
believe in reverse sexism. Reverse sexism is where men and boys believe they are
being discriminated against. When the men s movement was created, they
reasoned that it was time to focus on men and their oppression, some men feel
targeted against feminism( Gina Masequesmay ). I personally think that men and
women both get discriminated against in society, but it seems worse for women
and girls. I believe that the only way to ever get rid of this issue is for businesses to
pay and treat everyone equal, social media to not influence the idea of sexism being
a good thing, and be a good influence and show everyone

(a) Number of Iterations The program performs successive iterations with check on
convergence. The analysis is terminated if e 0.0001 or upon reaching the specified
number of iterations. This is introduced to circumvent the possibility of divergence.
(b) Tolerance Limit This Data is used to check for convergence and overrides the

Ronald Reagan And Terrorism Essay
Ronald Reagan was fond of quoting John Adams, who famously said: Facts are
stubborn things. So when Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif made public
pronouncements about fighting extremism, the facts show that his comments are
ironic at best and little more than insincere propaganda.
The fact is that Iran is the leading state sponsor of terrorism, with government
officials directly responsible for numerous terrorist attacks since 1979. These include

last year, Iranian leaders have taken to pointing fingers at others to assign blame for
the regional problems that they helped create. But before buying into their rhetoric,

In many instances, those who are successful are made out to be some sort of
separate breed, those who were innately able to perform remarkable feats that others,
no matter how hard they tried, simply could not. Through this exhibition, many
people view success as an elusive feature that only a select few can obtain. This

Throughout Ted Hughes works his fascination with animals is vastly prevalent.
During Hughes childhood his family moved to Mexborough when he was seven
years old. The Hughes family resided in rural area. Hughes as well as his childhood
friends would often interact with the animals within the community. He would
capture birds, foxes, and fish for loaches. He developed a passion for animals at
the early age of four when he was given a photographic book of animals on his

advanced for a young child. Hughes attempted to draw and copy the pictures within
the book. He relished collecting living creatures, such as mice (Feinstein 8 9). In
addition, with the influence of his brother Gerald Hughes, Ted Hughes had a desire
for hunting and shooting animals, uncommon among the others that live in the

Essay about Yahoo Vs. Lycos
Yahoo! Vs. Lycos
When searching on the Internet, one may find it difficult sometimes to know where
to start. With the seemingly limitless amount of information, one should use the
resource suitable for the searcher s needs and tastes. Comparing different factors like
databases, directory types, strengths and weaknesses of two search engines, such as
Yahoo! and Lycos, can provide an advantage to someone looking for a starting block.
To start with, one of the oldest search engines on the web, Lycos continues to thrive
mainly by providing a mix of features. As the trend with the other major search tools,
Lycos consists of a conglomeration of databases, online services, and other Internet

and selective listings, and the Open Directory Project quickly develops a somewhat
comparable data base that benefits from a marginal amount of quality control.
Basically, the only limitations of Lycos as a truly great search engine include the
slow refresh rate of its database, the lack of direct Boolean searching, and its need to
provide relevant results and eliminate redundant pages.
On the other hand, Yahoo! continues by far as the most popular way to find
information on the web of any of the search engines and directories. With one of the
smallest databases, Yahoo! gets more traffic than Lycos and AltaVistaput together.
Yahoo! enjoys success because its quality control is high, providing users with high
quality links without all the redundant listings that plague so many of the search
engines, such as Lycos. Yahoo! constitutes more of a directory, not a search engine,
making it possible to look up information within categories. In many of the search
engines, a search responds to the whims of the particular algorithm used by the
engine and depends on how well the pages match the search engines criteria,
regardless of the actual real life relevancy of the page and site content. In contrast,
Yahoo! uses people instead of a computer algorithm to ensure that sites displayed
appropriately, only lists valid sites, and generally only the home page of a site.
While some consider Yahoo! one of the best ways to find information on the net, it

mountains, but that was in his twenties and thirties. He is now forty has a wife, a
child and has given up the dangerous hobby. John works for a magazine company
that would change him in a way he never thought possible. The offer of a lifetime
could test his limits on his climbing skills, physical attributes and his motivation to
live.
When the offer of a lifetime came up John had to make a decision. The company
would cover the 65,000 dollar fee and give him a chance at his lifelong dream,
Standing on top of the world. He had arrived at base camp and was already higher
than he had ever been before. The deep rasping cough i d developed in Lobuje
worsened day by day, ( Jon Krakauer 67.) These conditions a common symptom of
minor altitude sickness tested jon strength as they only got worse. The thin air never
helped with the cough and the higher he went the worse it got. The skills John
accumulated over the years had not seen anything like this. Hall assured climbing
2,000 feet higher on the mountain each time, our bodies would adapt, ( John 70.)
These skills and techniques would add and improve on his ability to climb.

His motivation to reach the top gave him what he needed to succeed. I was slow to
dress and get out of my tent on thursday morning...As i rushed to join my teammates
i looked down...not wanting to cause a traffic jam i picked up the pace, ( John 159.)
John was tired he had barely slept and strength was not with him at this point, but
motivation was. John rushed to get to his group when he saw another group coming.
Caring about the lives below and the risk of slowing everyone down his motivation
pushed him further and got to his teammates faster. This incident was just one of
many that improved his motivation during this
Vocal Music Career Progression
The field I have chosen as my career is vocal music performance. I chose it because
music is what I am and what I love, and I feel that I can help the world in ways
others can t through music. My experiences in music have taught me valuable life
lessons and morals. I feel that my experiences in my high schoolchoir, my church
and at Governor s School for the Arts have helped make me the person I am today
and I can t wait to pursue music and give back to my community. To begin with, the
first time I realized music was what I was going to do as my profession was in my
high school choir. For me that is where it all started, my parents had recently went
through a very traumatizing divorce and I wasn t exactly a social butterfly. Those
days I just kept my head low and mad sure I had straight A s. However, that changed
after I joined choir. I believe singingwas one of the first things someone told me I was
good at and encouraged me to do and I took that and really ran with it. Being in choir
and getting to sing everyday gave me something to look forward to every day. I soon
became a section leader and made... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So naturally I said yes and was grateful for the opportunity, it felt good to do for
others and give back as a volunteer. I gained a great deal of experience by leading
music at church. For example, I learned how to read a crowd and feel the mood of
the room so I could pick music to fit it. Leading music also gave me a different
perspective versus just singing in a choir it taught me how to be a leader. But the
one thing that I love the most about it is when I m leading music and the song
touches someone, for me that is what it is all about. With music I can share
something with a friend or a complete stranger and for just a moment we truly
understand one another and I believe that is truly
Factors That Influenced The State Of The Criminal Justice...
Managerialism and populism are key concepts that have influenced many state
organised responses to crime. Populism, on one hand, is defined by Shils (1956,
p.100 1) as existing wherever there is an ideology of popular resentment against the
order imposed on society , so it is seen to establish policies that reflect the voices
and needs of the public. Whereas McLaughlin (2013) defines managerialist policies
as a set of governmental knowledges, techniques and practices which aim to fracture
and realign power relations within the core agencies of the criminal justicesystem
(2013, p.260). This is so the criminal justice system is run in a more cost effective,
efficient way (Pratt, 2007, p.133). McLaughlin discusses two waves of... Show more

Garland (2001) provides that as crime became more apparent, one of the main
problems arising was the difference in what the public expected from the criminal
justice system in terms of justice and their protection (Garland, 2001, p. 113). Roberts
et al (2003) cited in Pratt (2007, p.28) argues that imprisonment is the most important
and significant aspect of penal populism with one of its recurring themes relating to
accommodating both harsher and longer sentences of imprisonment (Pratt, 2007,
p.28). As we can see from this, penal populism has become dominant within policy
areas to ensure public safety.
There has been a decline in rehabilitative ideals of punishments following the
Criminal Justice Act 1991 (CJA), and instead, Garland (2001) suggests how the just
deserts philosophy has become, what he argues to be a generalised policy goal
(Garland, 2001, p.9). By this he means that instead of rehabilitating offenders, by
focusing on a more populist form of policy making, the punishments are deserved.
This is further supported by Cavadino and Dignan (2002) who discuss how the idea
of retributive punishments, particularly just deserts have been revived in some way
over the past few decades. Instead, shifting to more of a law and order ideology
discussed within the CJA 1991 whereby punishments such as incarceration are much
more appealing and effective than more romantic forms of punishment (Cavadino
Apocryphal Gospels Research Paper
Apocryphal Gospels ...are those which the Church did not accept as part of the
genuine apostolic tradition, even though they themselves claim to have been written
by one of the apostles ( What Are the Canonical and the Apocryphal Gospels? How
Many Are There? ). The word apocryphal originally was translated to mean secret
and would later become to mean heretical . Apocryphal writings started very early in
the history of the church with their main purpose serving to fill in the early details of
Jesuslife that had not been provided in the other gospels. While there is no exact
number for how many Apocryphal Gospels exist, it is known that the number
possibly exceeds fifty ( What Are the Canonical and the Apocryphal Gospels? How

intact, and narrate pious stories pertaining to the life of our Lord and the Blessed
Virgin Mary; and those that have been put under the name of an apostle, but
promulgate doctrines contrary to what the Church believed to be true according to
apostolic tradition ( What Do the Apocryphal Gospels Say? ). Famous examples of
these three different types include: Gospel of Peter , Infancy Gospel of James and

He takes a moment, then continues. I just want what s best for you my boy. You

He was afraid that will be our undoing. William was Lord Elton youngest son. His
older brother was killed in the same battle as Scarlet s father. Unfortunately, this left
William to become the new Lord of these lands on his 18th birthday. William
however, did not feel nor want this privilege. He had no interest in the politics or the

treasures which have been long lost. Not playing Lord.
Unfortunately, with whom his father had become, and the untimely death of his
brother Christopher, William was now compelled to carry on his family beliefs and
traditions. But, he had no soldier like abilities and wasn t one for the sight of

William had pick up his mother s traits, though he never got the chance to meet her.
He also realized that he had none of father s or brothers characteristics either. So why

Flashing Lights, Hugs From Strangers, Pounding Of Tables,
Flashing lights, hugs from strangers, pounding of tables, and more await those
coming into the Deaf Cultural world. After all, how does one communicate with
another who cannot hear? From the perspective of one who grew up in the hearing
world, these cultural norms were anything but normal; yet they have become
ingrained, almost second nature. Now these are my norms and are part of my world.
My journey into Deaf culturestarted in elementary school while riding the school
bus. A friend of mine named Francis allowed me into her world of American Sign
Language by teaching me the manual alphabet and some basic conversational sign
language, such as roller skates and how are you? . Later, I volunteered at a camp for
Deaf and hard of hearing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some options include: flashing the lights briefly, stomping on the floor, or simply
walking across the room to grab their attention. Another important cultural tidbit, eye
contact is incredibly important. To an outsider it can be a bit unnerving, it almost
feels like they are staring you down; however, direct eye contact is expected when
someone is communicating with you, as this shows that you are fully engaged in the
conversation. Breaking eye contact while in a conversation is akin to interrupting and
stating that their conversation is not worth your time.
Living isolated by a majority of those who live around you, simply because of the
mode of communication, can be very difficult. A majority of the Deaf and Hard of
Hearing community in the United States communicate with a three dimensional
language known as American Sign Language, or ASL. ASL is a unique language that
differs greatly from English. Not only does ASL differ from English linguistically, it
also differs in modality. Instead of articulating phonemes with one s mouth, teeth,
tongue, and throat, one articulates ASL with one s hands, fingers, face, and
surrounding space. As such, an individual whose primary language is ASL may
struggle reading and writing in English, especially in complex situations such as a
doctor s appointment. Also, the Deaf community shares a unique lexicon used to
identify various individuals with whom they come in contact.

Asian cinema should boost their martial arts film to the world. They should proud of
the advantages that asian culture have. In the way of education, they should open up

A World Divided by Those Who Can Afford Technology
and...
Imagine a world divided by those who can afford technology and those who
cannot. Those that have access to technology are the richest in the world, and
those that do not are stuck in poverty with no way to improve their economic
status. It sounds like the starting lines of a Hollywood movie but it is a growing
issue in America and abroad. The digital divide is the divide or gap between people
who have access to technology and those that do not. The divide is creating
problems for schools who require more and more assignments to be done on a
computer. Also, having the internetis having the power of information and
knowledge that not everyone has the ability to access. Other countries suffer from
the digital divide at a staggering percentage compared to US, UK and Europe.
(Crawford) In the United States the ability to get internet access is usually limited
to where you live. There are many homes in the US where there is not reliable
internet access. There are elementary schools that require papers, homework and
research to be done on computers. The students that do not have easy access to a
computer will have a strong disadvantage over those that do. Schools are getting
better and more advanced computer labs but not all students can stay after school to
complete their homework, if they are required to take the bus. In 1995 the Commerce
Department published its findings on the digital divide. They found geographic,
economic and racial gaps between
Budget Questions With My School
Sitting down and discussing budget questions with our school bookkeeper was the
most chaotic 45 minutes of my school week. I always thought being the
bookkeeper would be a stressful job because of the amount of money you had to
deal with and all of the things you had to keep track of it, not because of everyday
office chaos. Our bookkeeper does an exceptional job and our principal agrees that
she will probably never find someone to replace her, however with all of the other
stresses I could understand our bookkeeper leaving. While I was with Mrs. Banks
there were people constantly coming by and asking her to do things. Mrs. Banks
does not have her own office and people often treat her like a secretary. Mrs. Banks
and I discussed how this is one of the main issues with her job.
She talked about how much she loved doing the budgeting and financing part of it,
but how it was extremely difficult to do this and everything else. While I was there
she was trying to write six receipts for faculty members and this took over thirty
minutes, something that should take five. Every time she went to open the receipt
books someone would come in with a question (student or faculty) and she would
have to close the receipt book and put it and the money in her drawer to protect
confidentiality. She talked about how this could also cause you to misplace money
if you were not careful. She said some days she has little money and some days she
has anywhere from six to eight thousand

Identifying Potential Risk, Response, and Recovery Essay
Assignment 2: Identifying Potential Risk, Response, and Recovery
Emory Evans August 26, 2012 Dr. Robert Whale CIS 333
There are a myriad of potential threats and vulnerabilities that leave a system open to
malicious attack, anytime you have a computer network that connects to the internet
there is a potential for malicious attack so it is important that you know the
vulnerabilities of a system to protect it from potential threats and malicious attacks.
A vulnerability is any weakness in a system that makes it possible for a threat to
cause harm. (Kim Solomon, 2012, p. 96). There are several common vulnerabilities
that exist within the seven domains of an IT infrastructure for example ... Show more

Malicious attacks can come in many forms but generally speaking attacks fall into
one of four categories Fabrications which deception is involved to trick users,
Interceptions which involve eavesdropping on transmissions and unauthorized
redirecting of those transmissions, Interruptions which causes a break in
communication and a blockage of data transmission, and Modifications which alters
the data in transmissions (Kim Solomon, 2012). Attacks such as Brute force attacks,
Dictionary threats, Address spoofing, Hijacking, Replay attacks, Man in the middle
attacks, Masquerading, Social engineering, Phishing, Phreaking, and Pharming are all
examples of attacks that can have damaging effects on a computer network or system
(Kim Solomon, 2012).
Once vulnerabilities have been identified and potential threats and malicious attacks
have been identified one can begin to take countermeasures to eliminate or limit the
number of vulnerabilities that a computer system has making it harder for potential
threats and malicious attacks to damage it. Counter measures such as risk management
plans, firewalls, computer monitoring programs, strict access control to computer
networks and systems, anti virus software, user training can aid in the protection your
Bronchopulmonary Hypertension And Pulmonary Research
Health problems associated with premature birth Premature birth has been linked
to a vast array of lungs problems, the earlier the birth the greater risk of health
complications(Davis R and Mychaliska G, 2013). A majority of the health problems
will affect the infant for the rest of their life (Davis R and Mychaliska G, 2013).
Infants born between the canalicular and the saccular period (week 25) have lung
development that is unsuitable for gas exchange (Davis R and Mychaliska G, 2013).
Two major complications that arise with undeveloped lungs is bronchopulmonary
dysplasia, and pulmonary arterial hypertension (Mahgoub L. et al. 2017).

et al. 2017). Pulmonary hypertensions occurs in about 8 23% of premature infants
(Vyas Read S et. al. 2017). One method of determine if a patient has pulmonary
arterial hypertension is by lung function test (Davis R and Mychaliska G, 2013).
One current method used to help treat pulmonary arterial hypertension is assisted
ventilation, the method helps lower blood pressure (Davis R and Mychaliska G,
2013). However assisted ventilation can not be used in all preterm infants some
extracorporeal life support which will provide respiratory and veno arterial support
(Davis R and Mychaliska G, 2013).
Lung Function Tests When trying to determine lung function of premature infants
can be quite difficult, the main issue is to ensure the safety of the infant. One of the
newest methods of measuring lung function is pulmonary and arterial resistance and
compliance test (RC tests). RC tests are two different lung function test that when
combined together can determine a thorough understanding of lung function (Okada
S. et. al., 2017). One part of the RC test is the resistor capacitor test (RP). The RP
test is used to determine the blood flow through the pulmonary vasculature (Okada
S. et. al., 2017). The second part to the RC test are the pulmonary arterial compliance
test which determines the the blood vessels elasticity and extensibility (Okada S. et.
al., 2017). When the data from the RP and CP test are merged the data can determine
the pressure of the pulmonary

Social Psychology Essays

  • 1. Social Psychology Essays Writing an essay on the subject of social psychology can be both challenging and intellectually rewarding. The difficulty arises from the intricate nature of social interactions and the multitude of theories and concepts within the field. The depth of understanding required to tackle this topic requires a comprehensive grasp of psychological theories, empirical research, and real-world applications. One of the challenges is navigating through the various perspectives within social psychology, which may include symbolic interactionism, social cognitive theory, social identity theory, and more. Each theory offers unique insights into the complexities of human behavior within social contexts, making it essential for the writer to critically evaluate and integrate these perspectives cohesively. Furthermore, social psychology often delves into sensitive topics such as prejudice, conformity, aggression, and interpersonal relationships. Addressing these issues with the required sensitivity and nuance demands a careful balance between objectivity and empathy. It is crucial to present a well-reasoned argument supported by empirical evidence while acknowledging the ethical considerations inherent in studying human behavior. The research process for a social psychology essay can also be demanding. Analyzing empirical studies, conducting literature reviews, and synthesizing information from various sources require meticulous attention to detail. Crafting a thesis statement that captures the essence of the essay and guides the reader through a coherent argument adds an additional layer of complexity. Despite these challenges, delving into the world of social psychology provides an opportunity for personal growth and a deeper understanding of human behavior. Effectively communicating complex ideas and findings in a clear and concise manner is a skill that can be honed through the process of essay writing. In conclusion, while the task of composing an essay on social psychology may be daunting, the rewards lie in the knowledge gained and the development of critical thinking and writing skills. • 2. Cma 76ers Research Paper 17. Philadelphia 76ers USA TODAY Sports The Philadelphia 76ers just completed their second straight season with fewer than 20 wins, and that was unfortunately the goal. To the confusion of many NBA fans, this simply means that everything is going to plan in the city of brotherly love. General manager Sam Hinkie, is sticking to his rebuilding plan of asset collecting, and it is bound to pay off for Philly at some point. The question is; how long will it take for the 76ers to finally build a respectable team? The biggest X factor for the Sixers is second year big man Joel Embiid. Embiid is one of the rare players that has the distinct possibility of being out of the league or a top 10 player in the NBA five years from now. After missing his entire rookie season with a foot injury, Embiid will be forced to miss another season after aggravating his foot. It would be a big boost for the Sixers future if Embiid could come back and avoid being labeled the next Greg Oden. Despite not having Embiid s services this season, the 76ers will still have two very talented young big men in Jahlil... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Okafor does need to improve in these areas, people are forgetting what an incredible talent Okafor is. Okafor has a polished post game for just a one and done player. Not many players can walk into the NBA as a rookie and average 18 points and 8 rebounds, but Okafor has that potential. Nerlens Noel made his much anticipated debut for Philly last season after missing the entire 2013 14 campaign with a torn ACL. Noel averaged 11.6 points and 9.5 rebounds on his way to All Rookie First Team honors. The most impressive part of Noel s game is his versatility on the defensive end. Noel has the speed to switch onto perimeter threats and is an outstanding rim protector. Noel accomplished the rare feat of finishing in the top 10 in both steals and blocks per
  • 3. Summary Of All Sound Dies Story All sound dies when my 8 month old daughter, Lisa, stops crying and sleeps. We sit in silence for a while, watching as the streetlights turn on past us. My wife, Mika is sitting to my right. She s just begging someone, anyone to spark a conversation. The driver is probably exhausted from yuppie businessmen who insist on a better route and have the indecency to yell their business lingo into their phones. I know that feeling. My publisher is giving me grief for not having any good ideas. I ve created a town, but not much else. That I m aware of. The driver looks a tad too young for this job. His hair is dark, his skin is tanned, and judging by a several second glance at his rear view mirror, his eyes are dark brown, just like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Someone who wanted to take his family somewhere and never look back. But it s someone who couldn t get his life together and has cursed his son to follow in his footsteps. Poor bloke. Where could he possibly end up in this story? Sounds good. I think I ll write that down. When we arrive, the meter says twenty seventy five. I hand Mika my wallet and I step out, walking to the other side of the car to open her door. She gives him twenty five and tells him to keep the change. Thanks for the lift. And don t worry so much about your father. I m sure he ll be fine. The driver seems genuinely touched. But I think daddy is lucky to be alive for this long. *** Mika and I stroll through the park on the main street of town. While Mika is pushing Lisa in the stroller, I m enjoying a pleasant single cone strawberry ice cream and holding our lunch. Fish and chips for us, yoghurt and a banana for Lisa. Mika isn t in the mood for ice cream and it s a shame that Lisa can t have any. Mika spots a familiar face out in the distance. I look around and see a young man with an old, black dog, both enjoying ice
  • 4. Disaster Prevention And Reduction Strategy General:Natural disasters are inevitable and it is not possible to get full control over them. The history of human civilization reveals that man has been combating with natural disasters from its origin but natural disasters like floods, cyclones, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions have various times not only disturbed the normal life pattern but also caused huge losses to life and property, and interrupted the process of development. For any Hazard analysis, zonation of the area is very important. For seismic hazard analysis there are two methods of zonation Macrozonation and Microzonation. Local soil conditions has significant role on amplification of seismic waves, it being experienced in the past earthquakes. Seismic response analysis is useful to predict the design ground motion site for microzonation.Delineation of seismic hazard zones requires establishing a framework at the national or regional level with the following aspects clearly defined. Position of seismic microzonation in the construction practice and urban planning. Methodologies for data collection, evaluation and zonation. Seismic regulation that includes codes, laws and documentation, such as guidelines, recommendations, and manuals. The main assessment and management of earthquake risk concepts are from the Guidelines for Evaluating and Mitigating Seismic Hazards in California (DOC, 2000) and the Turkish Manual for Seismic Microzonation for Municipalities (DRM, 2004b). • 5. How Does Religion Create Bias Religion creates bias. Bias controls decisions. Decisions run countries. Ever since there was Religion, it has been affecting the decisions people make, and ever since there was politics, it has been affecting the decisions people make in politics. Not only that, but sources indicate that religious influence in political decision making has been growing recently. Religionhas always been, and will remain to be a critical factor in politics. Many of the world s governments, especially those of western societies, are democracies. Webster dictionary defines a democracy as, a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system . Through this, it is extremely apparent that the individual views, morals, biases and ideologies of citizens within the democracy would build it up to its whole, likely partisan, self. There are many ways in which someone may develop a bias, such as indoctrination from an early age. It is no secret that businesses and labour unions have a huge say in politics. The labour movement was charged by a group called the Noble and Holy Order of the Knights of Labor; this group was run by strong followers of the Catholic faith. The views expressed by this group transferred on to the views of many people involved in the labour movement, and later transferred on to the views of modern labour unions. Many widespread companies, such as Forever 21, In N Out Burger (and several other fast food chains for some reason), JetBlue (and several other airlines for some reason), and Timberland, are run by religious fundamentalists who project their (occasionally bigoted) views upon their customers and employees. These fundamentalists are almost all Christians, with the occasional
  • 6. American Hurricane A strong hurricane normally has three factors that make it so destructive, Death, Destruction and the area impacted (the great new england hurricane). The great hurricane of 1938 certainly had three factors, but what factors made the hurricane s impact so powerful, and what was the impact like The first of three hurricanes that had a large effect on the New England area is considered a strong hurricane for three particular reasons. The conditions that made it so powerful, the absurd amount of human error in a weather system almost riddled with ignorance and the blunt and forceful impact it had on an unexpecting region. To explain the first condition that made the storma hurricane, one must go to the Cape Verde Islands (youtube). The islands sit near a one hundred and twenty foot deep pool of warm water(youtube). Warm water, being a necessity when creating a hurricane makes it obvious why this hurricane along with so many others, are formed here(youtube). There are many different types of assessments, which generally fall into formal and informal. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. The major importance is selecting the right assessment. It is up to the teacher to decide what information is needed and how that information is collected. Informal formative assessment can take place in any student teacher interaction (Ruiz Primo amp; Furtak, 2004). Typically informal assessments do not involve a lot of prior preparations. Some informal assessments that I personally use on a consistent basis are checklists, observation, portfolios and clickers: Checklists The one that I use most frequently are checklists. I use checklists for every subject at every point in the school day. In a special education class with numerous staff members, it can be difficult to ensure that data is being collected thoroughly. In our classroom, we use checklists to track behaviors, to ensure that students are meeting their IEP goals, knowledge of their sight words, that they are completing their work, and last but not least are the students grasping the concept that is being taught. The quickness and easiness to use the checklists are a major advantage. Another advantage is that teachers are able to have results quickly. With these quick results, teachers can address the issues being observed instantly. A disadvantage is that different people may interpret the checklists in different ways. This can lead to confusion on what needs to truly be addressed. Another disadvantage is that with certain areas to watch for, other areas might be overlooked. Observations Observations are one of the easiest forms
  • 9. Thief Zusak s Roles In The Book Thief Understanding the roles of the archetypes can help us to sympathise with the characters and evaluate the roles they play in the story. These roles also contribute to the way Zusak represents good and evil in the novel. The role of the scapegoat can be reflected onto many characters in the book thief, and understanding how it contributes to the story can help us to be sympathetic and understanding towards certain characters. Max s identity as a jew often causes him to take the blame for many of societies problems, as well as issues that appear in The Book Thief. German society at the time generally blamed lots of their problems on Jews, which lowered their ranks in German society and made it harder for them to live. An example of this in the ... However, in The Book Thief Zusak represents death as a tormented being who is forced into taking the souls of humans away from their loved ones, which helps Zusak to present Death as a character with good intentions, despite the prejudice placed on his character. The idea of death causes him to be blamed for the actual Death of people, whereas Death explains that it is actually humans who are usually at fault for deaths. You want to know what I truly look like? I ll help you out. Find yourself a mirror while I continue. (pg. 329) The essence of Death that Zusak presents in The Book Thief is that of a tormented, aching being who is haunted by his daily whereabouts, but in human culture death is viewed as a very cruel being and his feelings or thoughts aren t really considered. Please, trust me. I most definately can be cheerful. I can amiable. Agreeable. Affable, And that s only the A s. We visit them daily and meet up at the coffee house next to us in Manhattan,New York City my home. And the big thing about me is that I have a superpower. My superpower is Telekinesis and nobody will ever know. I found out I had this ability when I was 10 years old. I was lying in my home just outside of Queens and everything just started to fly everywhere when I was frustrated because I was not allowed to go to my friends birthday party because it was snowing and my mom thought I would catch a cold. I have learned to control superpower and I use it alot when nobody is around including my best friends Chandler Geller, Rachel Smith, Monica Green and Ross Bing. But my life has changed now. When Chandler said he would go shopping for some food in our apartment he never came back. There Is now a criminal in my life. He kidnapped my Chandler and left a note at our apartment. It said if I wanted to see Chandler again meet on in Central Park at 12:00 AM! He also said if I notify the police he will murder Chandler. If you bring any one with me he will still kill Chandler. • 11. Nursery Rhymes Nursery Rhymes Baa Baa Black Sheep , Jack and Jill , and Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater are very well known around the world. They are told to our children at a young age and are remembered forever. Should they really be told and remembered? There is a lot of dark twisted violent meanings behind some of these simple nursery rhymes. Ring around the Rosy , Humpty Dumpty, Rock a Bye, Baby , London Bridge , Jack be Nimble and Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary are some of the rhymes I can vividly remember from my childhood. The hidden meaning behind this rhyme, is that the nursery rhyme refers to the rise and fall of Anne Boleyn. She was the second wife of King Henry VIII. Anne Boleyn was accused of incest and adultery. And in the end, was locked up and ultimately executed for treason. Yet again another dark and violent nursery rhyme (Brainz). Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack jump over the candle stick. (Europe) Such a catchy rhyme, wouldn t you say? You think to yourself, jumping over candle sticks, what s the point? This simple nursery rhyme has a very different meaning than someone would expect. It s about Black Jack, the English pirate. He was well known for always escaping from the authorities in the 16th century. Hence the line Jack be nimble . Also the jumping over a candle stick line is believed to be related the old English game candle stick jumping. Candle stick jumping was originally a sport of jumping over fires. But was deemed far too dangerous and then was outlawed. It was sonly replaced with the far less dangerous sport of candlestick jumping. Other than those two things there is not much they can go on because the rhyme is so short (Alchin). Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary is also known to a lot of people. It seems like such a sweet rhyme, having to do with this little girl planting flowers and putting little decorations on them to make this really beautiful garden. You can see

Whole blood, or plasma. Clots upon standing and if the clot is removed, the remaining straw colored fluid is called serum. The major protein in serum is albumin which functions as a carrier molecule for the transport of certain small molecular weight compounds in blood. In the picture there is a man staring to the top right of the page and there is a hand covering the man s mouth coming from the bottom left of the page. The man is wearing a blackish blue suit jacket. The trim of the lapel is a cream color. The man s hair is made up mostly of red, with small hints of brown and white. The mans skin is a white cream color. On the right side of the man s face there is a shadow composed of a red and a grey. The hand covering the man s mouth is composed mostly of a white cream color and some hints of red and grey where the shadows are seen on the hand. The arm stretching from the bottom left of the picture has a sleeve with a simple design of the American flag. The color in this picture is very vibrant. Without the red, shades of yellow, and the off colored white this would almost be a black and white picture. From all of the color used in the work of art the main focus is the point where the hand is
  • 14. Should Nuclear Power Plants Be Banned Should nuclear power plants be banned? Nuclear power plants have been around for many years. The first nuclear power plant was built in 1954. The controversy over them is whether they are harmful or beneficial to the environment and to humans. We as humans tend use a lot of energy. Nuclear power plants are so called a strong candidate for supplying our energy. There are many harmful remarks on nuclear power plants, and today I am here to talk about why they should be potentially reduced if not banned. For starters it can lead to cancer for children young of age, it can be used a weapon for destroying or targeting our country, and how expensive they are related to other fuel factors. For instance, nuclear power plants are shown to have an effect on kids with cancer. According to Ten Strikes Against Nuclear Power, There are growing concerns that living near even accident free nuclear plants increases the risk for childhood leukemia and other cancers. One Texas study found increased cancer rates in north central Texas since a nuclear power plant was established in 1990, and a recent German study found childhood leukemia clusters near several nuclear power sites in Europe (source 2). These power plants are causing innocent kids to get cancer and leukemia which plays a huge role in a child s life who suffers from one. Even though it is accident free it can still lead to other types of accidents. In many cases nuclear power plants can be used as a weapon for many things involving nuclear. According to Ten Strikes Against Nuclear Power, Nuclear reactors represent a clear national security risk, and an attractive target for terrorists (source 2). Nuclear missiles, bombs, and other sorts of weapons can be used to destroy or target our country. Robert Kennedy had found out that there are at least eight relatively easy ways to cause a major meltdown at a nuclear power plant (source 2). Most nuclear power plants are used as a target and advantage for war on other countries, including ours. In addition to the reasons why nuclear power plants are harmful is the fact that they cost so much money to build. According to What is Nuclear? Nuclear reactors are generally large and complex, with lots of reinforced

A contest was held awarding 200 gold florins and eternal fame to the architect who could successfully design a beautiful domed ceiling. The ceiling had to be 150 feet across and start 180 feet in the air without collapsing. The dome needed to fit onto the octagonal walls already in place and the design also had to exclude the popular gothic styled flying buttresses used in Milan, Florences archenemy. Though at first they scoffed at Filippo Brunelleschi for his ingenious design of a double dome, they eventually acknowledged his genius and hired him to be co superintendent over his design with his arch rival. Introduction In this experiment four different experiments were performed to explain the concepts of reflection, refraction, dispersion and Brewster s angle. The purpose of the first experiment is to analyze the incidence and reflection angle to understand how light reflects off a flat, convex, or concave mirror. In the second experiment a lightray is passed through a rhombus prism to discover the relationship between the angle of refraction and incidence. For the third experiment calculations were made to find indices for the color of light that passed through an acrylic rhomboid. This experiment depicted dispersion. Finally, the last experiment conducted dealt with the angle reflection and angle of refraction. Using polarizing lens to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the mirror had been traced, it was taken off the paper and a line was sketched at the halfway point. A ruler was used to draw the line outside of the traced mirror. The line was the normal line. Also, inside the tracing on the line 1.8 cm was measured and labeled. Then a line was drawn from the point opposite to the concave side and extended outside of the outline. Another line was sketched with the ruler from the point of opposite to the convex side and extended a few centimeters past the outline. See Figure A During, the procedure the first step involved placing the mirror with all three sides to fit into the outline. The light source was pointed at the side of the flat mirror. There was an incident and reflection ray both were traced. When the mirror was removed, the lines were measured using a protractor to retrieve the angle measurements. This process was repeated for the concave and convex sides. The data is shown in table 1A, 2A, 3A. Note: The data tables will be included in the Data Analysis section. Figure A Theory B: Refraction In the second experiment refraction was observed. Refraction is the bending of a light wave which changes the speed once it hits another material. The ray of light hitting a fast medium will slow down. Depending on the indexes of refraction the light will either slow down or travel faster. The relationship between the indexes of refraction and the way the light bends when passing through a

However, in the life of a human being this routine that goes on for years is essential to our lives, as well as those older strangers who teach about subjects that you don t understand. Those older strangers have the responsibility to pass on knowledge to their students and the given knowledge, whether taken or not, will determine their future. Is everyone comfortable or willingly to accept the teachings of a total stranger? Of course not, therefore this total stranger has to have an identification to the students, but not necessarily just a name. Teachers must develop a relationship with their students because teacher student relationships affect a student s academic excellence. As a student myself I witness the rebellious outburst of students that will at no end do everything, but be productive in class. What is the root of this refusal towards learning? This resistance to education is a nature acquired from the famous phrase that school is boring or school is hard and those rebellious students disengage themselves from the class and teacher. When a child transitions into being a student there has to be an engagement to pull them into a pleasure or some sort of ambition for learning

The election of 1920 was important because our nation had just gotten out of World War I, the vote ended in a landslide, and Harding changed the United Statesfor the worse. This was called a front porch campaign and it s purpose was to get supporters to come see and talk to him on his actual front porch. It had worked for other presidents, but a prodigious reason he did this was to be contrary to Wilson. Harding wanted to portray himself as calm and collected compared to Wilson s campaign that took him and his failing ideas all over the United States. (Pietrusza 315). I personally feel like sexism is an issue because of the way people were raised and what they believe. Sexism is discrimination and stereotypes against a gender. It is most commonly against women and girl( Gina Masequesmay ). Some people believe that men are better than women, and women are emotional and weak, so they aren t good leaders and shouldn t be in control of anything social, political, or anything business related. Since women are believed to be weaker than men, our work isn t valued as much as a man s work( Gina Masequesmay ). An extreme version of sexism is misogyny. Misogyny is the hatred of women. In societies that have a high concentration of misogyny, there is a very high rate of violence to women, where there is domesticated abuse and they are raped and treated like property. The only solution to gender equality is to change the sexist institutions and culture( Gina Masequesmay ). Feminism is believing that everyone should be equal. The feminist movement fought for the abolishment of sexism and the establishment of women s rights as equal under the law . The statement was also said that the disentanglement of gender from biological sex was an accomplishment in a large part of feminism which claimed that one s sex does not predict anything about one s ability ( Gina Masequesmay ). But, some people also believe in reverse sexism. Reverse sexism is where men and boys believe they are being discriminated against. When the men s movement was created, they reasoned that it was time to focus on men and their oppression, some men feel targeted against feminism( Gina Masequesmay ). I personally think that men and women both get discriminated against in society, but it seems worse for women and girls. I believe that the only way to ever get rid of this issue is for businesses to pay and treat everyone equal, social media to not influence the idea of sexism being a good thing, and be a good influence and show everyone

So when Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif made public pronouncements about fighting extremism, the facts show that his comments are ironic at best and little more than insincere propaganda. The fact is that Iran is the leading state sponsor of terrorism, with government officials directly responsible for numerous terrorist attacks since 1979. These include suicide bombings of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut and the Marine barracks at Beirut International Airport; the bombing of Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia in 1996; attacks against more than a dozen embassies in Iran, including those of Britain, the U.S. and Saudi Arabia; and the assassination of diplomats ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... last year, Iranian leaders have taken to pointing fingers at others to assign blame for the regional problems that they helped create. But before buying into their rhetoric, consider a few questions: Which country issues a fatwa for the execution of author Salman Rushdie, a death threat that is still in force today? (Iran.) What country has attacked more than a dozen embassies inside its own territory in violation of all international laws? (Iran.) What country managed, planned and executed the 1996 attack in Khobar Towers against the American Marines? (Iran.) Do these answers describe a country that is serious about combating terrorism and extremism? The rest of the Islamic world has unanimously condemned Iran s behavior. In Istanbul in April, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation formally rejected and deplored Iran s policies of sectarianism, interference in the affairs of others and support for terrorism. Saudi Arabia is a leader in the war against terrorism. My country brought the world together for an international conference in 2005 to align nations in the fight against terrorism. The kingdom contributed more than $100 million to create a global center for counterterrorism at the United Nations and established a 40 member Islamic Military Coalition to combat terrorism and extremism. • 39. Essay about Yahoo Vs. Lycos Yahoo! Vs. Lycos When searching on the Internet, one may find it difficult sometimes to know where to start. With the seemingly limitless amount of information, one should use the resource suitable for the searcher s needs and tastes. Comparing different factors like databases, directory types, strengths and weaknesses of two search engines, such as Yahoo! and Lycos, can provide an advantage to someone looking for a starting block. To start with, one of the oldest search engines on the web, Lycos continues to thrive mainly by providing a mix of features. Basically, the only limitations of Lycos as a truly great search engine include the slow refresh rate of its database, the lack of direct Boolean searching, and its need to provide relevant results and eliminate redundant pages. On the other hand, Yahoo! continues by far as the most popular way to find information on the web of any of the search engines and directories. With one of the smallest databases, Yahoo! gets more traffic than Lycos and AltaVistaput together. Yahoo! enjoys success because its quality control is high, providing users with high quality links without all the redundant listings that plague so many of the search engines, such as Lycos. Yahoo! constitutes more of a directory, not a search engine, making it possible to look up information within categories. In many of the search engines, a search responds to the whims of the particular algorithm used by the engine and depends on how well the pages match the search engines criteria, regardless of the actual real life relevancy of the page and site content. In contrast, Yahoo! uses people instead of a computer algorithm to ensure that sites displayed appropriately, only lists valid sites, and generally only the home page of a site. While some consider Yahoo! one of the best ways to find information on the net, it does have a number of

  • 42. Factors That Influenced The State Of The Criminal Justice... Managerialism and populism are key concepts that have influenced many state organised responses to crime. Populism, on one hand, is defined by Shils (1956, p.100 1) as existing wherever there is an ideology of popular resentment against the order imposed on society , so it is seen to establish policies that reflect the voices and needs of the public. Whereas McLaughlin (2013) defines managerialist policies as a set of governmental knowledges, techniques and practices which aim to fracture and realign power relations within the core agencies of the criminal justicesystem (2013, p.260). This is so the criminal justice system is run in a more cost effective, efficient way (Pratt, 2007, p.133). McLaughlin discusses two waves of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Garland (2001) provides that as crime became more apparent, one of the main problems arising was the difference in what the public expected from the criminal justice system in terms of justice and their protection (Garland, 2001, p. 113). Roberts et al (2003) cited in Pratt (2007, p.28) argues that imprisonment is the most important and significant aspect of penal populism with one of its recurring themes relating to accommodating both harsher and longer sentences of imprisonment (Pratt, 2007, p.28). As we can see from this, penal populism has become dominant within policy areas to ensure public safety. There has been a decline in rehabilitative ideals of punishments following the Criminal Justice Act 1991 (CJA), and instead, Garland (2001) suggests how the just deserts philosophy has become, what he argues to be a generalised policy goal (Garland, 2001, p.9). By this he means that instead of rehabilitating offenders, by focusing on a more populist form of policy making, the punishments are deserved. This is further supported by Cavadino and Dignan (2002) who discuss how the idea of retributive punishments, particularly just deserts have been revived in some way over the past few decades. Instead, shifting to more of a law and order ideology discussed within the CJA 1991 whereby punishments such as incarceration are much more appealing and effective than more romantic forms of punishment (Cavadino

A vulnerability is any weakness in a system that makes it possible for a threat to cause harm. (Kim Solomon, 2012, p. 96). Attacks such as Brute force attacks, Dictionary threats, Address spoofing, Hijacking, Replay attacks, Man in the middle attacks, Masquerading, Social engineering, Phishing, Phreaking, and Pharming are all examples of attacks that can have damaging effects on a computer network or system (Kim Solomon, 2012). Once vulnerabilities have been identified and potential threats and malicious attacks have been identified one can begin to take countermeasures to eliminate or limit the number of vulnerabilities that a computer system has making it harder for potential threats and malicious attacks to damage it. Counter measures such as risk management plans, firewalls, computer monitoring programs, strict access control to computer networks and systems, anti virus software, user training can aid in the protection your

One method of determine if a patient has pulmonary arterial hypertension is by lung function test (Davis R and Mychaliska G, 2013). One current method used to help treat pulmonary arterial hypertension is assisted ventilation, the method helps lower blood pressure (Davis R and Mychaliska G, 2013). However assisted ventilation can not be used in all preterm infants some extracorporeal life support which will provide respiratory and veno arterial support (Davis R and Mychaliska G, 2013). Lung Function Tests When trying to determine lung function of premature infants can be quite difficult, the main issue is to ensure the safety of the infant. One of the newest methods of measuring lung function is pulmonary and arterial resistance and compliance test (RC tests). RC tests are two different lung function test that when combined together can determine a thorough understanding of lung function (Okada S. et. al., 2017). One part of the RC test is the resistor capacitor test (RP). The RP test is used to determine the blood flow through the pulmonary vasculature (Okada S. et. al., 2017). The second part to the RC test are the pulmonary arterial compliance test which determines the the blood vessels elasticity and extensibility (Okada S. et. al., 2017).
