Social Norms
This paper will give a definition of deviance by analyzing the varying types and definition of
deviance. Violations of social norms is key to defining deviance. There are three key features within
social norms: time, place, and situation, that come together to establish deviance. The relativity of the
all of those events combined into one along with who is perceiving the act is what defines deviance
Social Norm are informal rules that help govern a society. Norms differ from place, time period, and
situations. When norms are violated and witnessed the offender, the one who broke the norm, is then
put in to one of two punishment categories. Primary deviance is occurs when the offender breaks a
lesser norm and is only slightly punished, it does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Criminal deviance is when a person becomes a deviant by disobeying the laws. Criminal deviance is
easy to define because even though laws change from time, place, and situation they are written down
and have already been agreed upon. Social deviance is much more difficult to define due to the
informal nature of social norms. A person can be either non deviant, a criminal deviant, a social
deviant, or bother a criminal and social deviant. Obey the speed limit can show all four these deviants.
On highways in America the left lane is referred to as the fast lane and the right hand lane as the slow
lane . A person going the maximum speed limit in the right hand lane is breaking neither laws nor
social norms. A person going ten miles an hour(mph) under the speed limit in the right lane, assuming
they are not slowing down to turn, is breaking the social norm of not going at least the speed limit, and
is therefore a social deviant. They are not breaking any laws, however. A person going five to ten mph
over the speed limit in the left hand lane is following the social norm. Since the person is going over
the speed limit they are now considered a criminal deviant. A person who is driving 50 mph regardless
of what lane they are is breaking both social norms and criminal laws, which makes them both a social
and criminal

Why Is George Soros Important
When it comes to investors, they oftentimes remain in a one dimensional setting. To expound further,
investors oftentimes only think of themselves and their interests. Therefore, it remains a rarity for an
investor to place their priorities behind the needs of society. Moreover, it remains a rarity for investors
to donate billions of dollars to charitable causes. Due to the lack of concern, these investors also fail to
realize the bigger picture. Moreover, these investors do not receive the same critical acclaim and
respect of George Soros. For those unaware, George Soros remains one of the wealthiest people in the
world. Furthermore, George Soros also remains a prominent investor and a voice for the less
fortunate. Therefore, George Soros has selflessly placed his money in the pockets of the impoverished.
In addition, George Soros has Jewish ancestry. As a native of Budapest, Hungary, George Soros
experienced the atrocities of Nazi Germany firsthand. Moreover, George Soros also attended London
School of Economics. This remains attributed to Nazi Germany taking over and desecrating Hungary
and all of Eastern Europe. As George Soros attended the London School of Economics, he remained

The Next Revolution in Music Technology: Make or Break?
Throughout life I have encountered several different mediums of music including eight track
recordings, vinyl records, cassette tapes, mini discs, digital audio tapes (DAT), and compact discs. I
have always considered the CD to be the greatest technological advancement (as a medium of music)
of my generation because it was the first digital audio format made readily available to the general
public. Because of the CD, people were hearing music like they had never heard it before exactly as it
would sound in the artist s recording studio. Among other things, we have digital audio technology to
thank for that. But we have recently been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The players connect to a computer, and MP3 files are transferred to them, allowing users to utilize the
portable unit the same way they use a portable cassette or CD player. As you may see by this brief
overview, the new audio format has generated a lot of activity. As far as obtaining MP3 audio files
goes, there are thousands of web sites dedicated to supplying the files (mp3.com, mp3.box.sk,
mp3.lycos.com). An Internet surfer can search for music in MP3 format, and by the simple click of a
button, have the music transferred to his or her computer in as little as five minutes or even less.
What types of music are available in MP3 format? Any type one could imagine.
While a portion of MP3 files in existence are created by individual, unsigned music artists, there is
also a large amount of commercial, copyright protected music freely available for download from the
Internet. This is the beginning of a complicated argument.
Now that it is possible for consumers to download copyrighted material free of charge, major record
labels have a great fear.
Tons of people use it [MP3] online, but most big record labels have not embraced it for fear of
privacy, since the format also allows for widespread copying of illegal files.

Prostate Cancer In Family
Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among men, in both Western developed countries
and worldwide (Ferlay 2008). It is a cancer that is only limited to males, as only males have prostate
glands. The exact etiology is still unknown; however, it is thought to be a multifactorial disease with
inherited genetics playing a major role (Xu 2013). Particularly, people with fathers and brothers with
prostate cancer are at increased risk for developing it themselves. Other male relatives have also
shown a linkage, especially if the relative was diagnosed young (Al Olama AA 2014). This report
discusses how prostate cancer aggregates in family, via the analyses of heritability, twin and adoption
studies, family pedigrees, and how specific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These studies compare allele/genotype frequencies of SNPs between population cases and controls.
The low penetrance genes of prostate cancer found are the following: Amundadottir and colleagues
found a loci at 8q24 (Amundadottir 2006) with the strongest associated SNP as rs1447295 with a
relative risk (RR) for prostate cancer estimated at 1.72. This finding was later corroborated with the
results of the first two GWAS of prostate cancer in May 2007 (Amundadottir 2006 Gudmundsson
2007). These initial GWAS studies analyzed 550,000 SNPs across the genome in cases and controls of
European origin nested from the Cancer Genetic Markers of Susceptibility (Gudmundsson 2007).
Yeager and colleagues confirmed the prostate cancer association with rs1447295 and identified
another independent association at 8q24 (rs6983267). The estimated RRs were 1.26 and 1.58 for
heterozygous and homozygous carriers, respectively (Yeager 2007). Gudmundsson and colleagues
identified another new prostate cancer association at 8q24 (rs16901979). The estimated RR was 1.79
(Gudmundsson 2007). Two independent loci at 17q12 and 17q24 were also found (Gudmundsson
2007). Duggan and colleagues found one locus at 9q33 (Duggan 2007). Thomas and colleagues found
four novel loci at 7p15, 10q11, 10q26 and 11q13 (Thomas 2008).

Contraceptive And Birth Control And Contraception
Are you using or someone you know partaking in a contraceptive method? Chances are you answered
yes since more than 99% of women...have used at least one contraceptive method (Contraceptive Use
in the United States). But you are probably using the wrong type. I can enlighten you to the most
effective and all around most appealing birth control on the market known as the ParaGard IUD.
Before we dive in we must ask ourselves, what is birth control? What is the difference between it and
contraception? Well, the only difference is what the common belief in society is, of each. Society
commonly thinks that birth control is a tiny pill that takes care of your own or someone else s
pregnancy worries. This is true, but it is only a type of birth control. Also, in false thinking, many
individuals believe contraception is a fancy word for condoms. As with the pill condoms are only a
type of contraceptive. Society only has a small spectrum of what contraceptive and birth control is. In
reality, they are definitely the same. By definition, birth control is contraception; an online dictionary
states that it is the deliberate prevention of conception or impregnation (MerriamWebster.org). There
are many forms of contraception. It is a major contributor to why our population is limited to 7.4
billion people (Current World Population). If you are ever considering a contraception method the
Intrauterine device, especially the ParaGard, will be a dependable option to keep the population

Couple Dating Reports
The person I interviewed for this report is my informant, Sara. She has been in a relationship with her
boyfriend since they were in high school. They have been together for over 7 years. I wanted to
interview her because I thought her relationship was in an interesting position. The other couple I am
studying are either married or have been dating for over 3 years. I was not interested in doing my
report on the married couple because there are few obstacles in their relationship. As for the couple
dating for 3 years, they are also in a good position with few obstacles. Sara interested me because she
had no intentions of marrying her boyfriend. Despite having been together for years and her boyfriend

The positions were reversed in the other couple. For Sara and her boyfriend, she was the one who did
not want to get married while her boyfriend did. For the other couple, it was the girl who wanted to
get married but the boyfriend was against the idea. Both Sara and the girl in the other couple are South
Asian. It s interesting that Sara and the boyfriend from the other couple are both against marriage due
to the nature of their parents relationship. This is reflected also in the interaction I ve had with the
other couple where the girl clearly seemed to have wanted more from the relationship while the guy
was comfortable where they were.
The interview gave me a better insight into the reasons why Sara didn t want to marry her boyfriend.
Based on our previous interactions, I had thought that it was because she did not want to commit to
her boyfriend but now know that the relationship between her parents has affected her views on
marriage. Sara s reluctance in answering overly personal questions prevented me from learning certain
key information I wanted to collect. I had to be very careful not to ask an overtly personal question out
of fear that she would not want to answer or continue with the

The American Dream In The Overnighters And The California...
Since the inception of this country, the concept of the American Dream has been driven forward by
men and women who believe that they can be as successful as they desire if they only roll up their
sleeves, take charge of their lives, and work hard to accomplish their goals. Indeed, it was this idea
that brought many foreigners to settle in this country in the first place. These types of men and women
jump at any opportunity to better their lives, such as when hundreds of thousands flocked out to
California in 1849 to become wealthy through the search and acquisition of gold. The underlying
situation at play in The Overnighters is no different from the search for the New World or the
California Gold Rush. The communities that form around such fountains of opportunity often strain
the surrounding areas, however, and the Overnighter community of vagabonds and strangers that
formed in the town of Williston, North Dakota was no different, ultimately becoming a source of
conflict that forced the metaphorical moral hands of nearly everyone they surrounded. In recent years,
the North Dakota oil boom has attracted men and women looking for wealth and success from all over
the United States. In some cases, these people packed up nearly everything they have, left everything
they had ever known, and made the hike to North Dakota to seek a job in the oil industry that they did
not know they would receive once there. These individuals no doubt heard stories of plentiful jobs

Types Of An Equilibrium System
STSE: Equilibrium Systems
1. Choose a process which uses an equilibrium system.
How calcium oxalate kidney stones form in a human body?
Calcium oxalate stones are the most common type of kidney stones to form. They are solid masses
that form within the kidney because of a great amount of oxalate in one s urine and too little liquid.
Oxalate is found in foods, and when the body is done processing the nutrients it requires from
digestion, waste products travel to the kidneys. The kidneys make urine which removes these waste
products, however if there are too many waste products present in too little liquid, there are crystals
that form. Crystals will then stick together to form a kidney stone which can t get passed through and
out of the body as urine. Crystals that are specific to kidney stones are formed of oxalate which sticks
to calcium also found in the kidneys. The formation of calcium oxalate kidney stones is an equilibrium
system.
2. Write the balanced equation for the system.
CaC2O4 (s) ( removed HTML ) Ca2+(aq) + C2O42 (aq)
The forward reaction for this reversible reaction shows calcium oxalate breaking down into calcium
and oxalate ions.
The reverse reaction is where calcium and oxalate ions form calcium oxalate kidney stones.
3. Explain the shifts that occur in this equilibrium using Le Chatelier s Principle.
In terms of Le Chatelier s Principle, there are changes in concentration, temperature, volume and
pressure that can occur to

Examples Of Unlocking Self-Values And Beliefs As A Nursing...
Unlocking Self Values and Beliefs as a Nursing Student According to Duffy Randall (2006), the
Sanskrit word mandala, meaning magic circle, circumference, and center, was first adopted by Swiss
psychiatrist, Carl Gustav Jung, to describe the drawings that he and his patients drew. Each of the
drawings within a mandala represent a connection to the artist, making every mandala unique.
Appendix #37, also known as mandala Me, Myself I , consist of the colours blue, red, yellow, black,
and white. Appendix #37 includes the images of a family of four, the Canadian flag, and a stairwell on
the clouds. This paper will identify three main values and beliefs, and their points of origin, followed
by clear and logical connections between self s values and beliefs and how they impact and influence
self as a nurse, the connection of each value/belief to appendix #37, and finally, the comprehensive
summary of the paper. A mandala is a form of art where one can learn and grow, while increasing one
s intellectual (Duffy Randall, 2006). The purpose of the self mandala reflective paper is to use the
drawings and images from the appendix #37 as visual representations of one s values and beliefs, in
order to consider the implications for self as a nurse.

The United States Tax Code
With the ever increasing complexity of the United States tax code, it has become more important than
ever for companies to understand and implement possible tax benefits for the company and its
employees. One major benefit that applies to both is employer provided meals. Employer provided
meals have become a major topic due to their double sided benefits. These are both tax beneficial to
employers, as the meals can be deducted by the business as an expense on its federal income tax
return, which reduces the business tax liability. Concurrently, the benefit of the provided meal is
excluded from the taxable gross income of the employee, providing the employee with a tax free
benefit. After fully understanding the laws related to employer provided meals, a business could begin
thinking about implementation of the benefit.
Due to the nature of the benefits, there are several sections of applicable tax code that will need to be
considered. This comes from the United States Code Title 26, which is the Internal Revenue Code
(IRC). The meals are both tax beneficial to a company and its employees. The meals can be deducted
by the business as an expense on its federal income tax return, which reduces the tax liability.
Employees also receive a benefit from the excludability of the provided meal from their taxable gross
income. One will need to understand what is included in employee income, the requirements for meals
to be provided for the convenience of the employer, and how

Nuclear Fusion And Fission Reactors
Nuclear Fusion/Fission Reactors
Nuclear Fusion is:
A heavier atom is formed when two light atomic nuclei s (e.g. hydrogen 1 hydrogen 2 )are fused

heavier nuclei is created( e.g. helium 3.) E.g. when sun and stars release energy. It can t be controlled

The Tale Of The Grimm s Cinderella
Have you ever had a dark and gloomy day? Imagine having that feeling every single day. The Grimm
s Cinderella was written in 1812. 1812 was one of the harshest years for America. An event that
formed it was the war against Great Britain and the United States. Not only was there a war, but there
was also a series of disastrous harvests. Taxes got higher, and more than twenty people who were
involved with a Luddite Act were hung. In 1812, there was also the only assassination of a prime
minister, who was shot dead in the House of Commons. The Grimm Brothers have put the dark times
of 1812 into their stories. Some of their stories contain violence, child abuse, and wicked mothers.
They came up with these types of stories after their father died, and when they struggled out of school.
That gave them enough time to research and put together a collection of folk tales. Now you can see
why the Grimm s Cinderella was dark and gloomy. Although the plot stayed the same, over the years,
the story did get lighter. Disney s Cinderella came out in 1950. In 1950, learning information was not
by fear, but by engaging happiness. Disney s Cinderella transforms the Grimm s Cinderella into a
happier atmosphere. While some similarities between Disney s Cinderella and Grimm s Cinderella are
noticeable, the differences are pronounced, especially when referring to the slippers, her father, and
the ball. Disney s Cinderella and Grimm s Cinderella are alike in many ways. One of the things that

How Does Chlorine Kills Pathogens
Chlorine kills pathogens such as bacteria and viruses by breaking the chemical bonds in their
molecules. When chlorine is added to water, chloric acids forms: Cl2+H2O = HOCl + H+ + Cl .
Depending on the pH value, chloric acid partly expires to hypochlorite ions: HOCl = OCl + H+.
Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) and hypochlorite ions (OCl ) will form free chlorine when bound together,
and they are primary disinfectants throughout the process. However, the chlorine dosage has to be
high enough to reach the breakpoint for a significant amount of chlorine to remain in the water. When
passing the breakpoint, the addition of chlorine to the water will only produce free chlorine remains
which is essential for disinfection.
Also, according to the theoretical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While disinfectant residual is important because (similar to the previous point) the more residual
present, the better secondary disinfection would be which ensure that the water is protected longer as
it travels from the plant to the consumers. Finally pH is important in influencing the degree of
disinfection provided by chlorination because pH determine the primary form of chlorine that exists in
the water. Without considering ammonia, at a pH lower than 7.5, most the chlorines are HOCl; which
is 80 90x more effective as a disinfectant than its counterpart OCl , which is the form of chlorine that
exists mostly when pH is greater than 7.5. In terms of chloramine, when the pH is smaller than 4.5 it is
mostly trichloramine (NCl3). When the pH is between 4.5 and 8.5 it is mostly monochloramine and
dichloramine (NH2Cl and NHCl2) and when the pH is greater than 8.5, then it is mostly
monochloramine present (NH2Cl). Out of all three chloramines, monochloramine is the most favoured
since it is very effective in secondary disinfection due to its stability, control over biofilms and lack of
offensive odour and taste. Therefore, pH plays a critical role in whether the chlorine exists as HOCl or
monochloramine, which are the most effective and favourable version of chlorine for

Description Of A Photo Is Itinerant
Itinerancy is a word that implies movement from place to place. To say a photo is itinerant is to
acknowledge its ability to travel. Imagine a post card sent from Mykonos, decorated with the Greco
roman architecture and Mediterranean beaches, as it arrives at someone`s snow covered mail box in
Colorado. The displaced images on that post card bears different meanings to the persons receiving
them. Memories and histories, specific to an ever increasingly foreign place and time, travel inside
and with images, waiting to be uncovered and dissimilated. The Photographs ability to travel
geographically prevents it from remaining fixed in any location. Images have an innate propensity to
escape the confinements they have been created in and flee to new unfamiliar places. Photographs
spore like pollen as they voyage around the globe leaving traces of themselves behind. Arts and all
other forms of works about or inspired by original images are vessels, carrying in them a soup of new
and borrowed ingredients. The various ingredients flavor each other and result in new altered
carnations of the referent ingredient/works. Printed texts in literature can capsulate the many aspects
of an images existence, giving photos new and sustained life through alternate modes, forms and
mediums. Captions, for example, identify and date photos. Captions paired with photographs prevent
the photos from being so easily swept into the abyss of meaningless images. Critics who write

Field officers/Loan officers are the face of the organization. They are the ones who regularly visit
underprivileged in villages and assist them to work their way out of poverty. In a vast country such as
India which has many geographical and infrastructure challenges it is essential that field officers spend
most of their time in the field. However, 30% of their valuable time is lost in essential paper work
involved in the field, data entry and other administrative tasks.
In order to relieve them from these cumbersome and error prone tasks, SKS has embarked on a
business transformation model that streamlines the field operations. As a part of digitization, SKS has
provided tabs that work exclusively offline. Applications deployed on the tab are customized, secured
and encrypted with international standards. The SM just needs to sync the tab with the desktop to get
his mundane tasks done in seconds. As a result, he is now able to save much of the needed time, which
is now being used to visit more villages and uplift households. In addition, SKS is able to cut
administrative costs significantly.

The tennis icon can afford to be gracious these days: She earned $28.9 million over the past 12
months. That makes her the world s highest paid female athlete over that span, unseating Maria
Sharapova, who had held the title the past 11 years.
US player Serena Williams returns the ball to Netherlands Kiki Bertens during their women s semi
final match at the Roland Garros 2016 French Tennis Open in Paris on June 3, 2016.
A drug suspension dinged Sharapova s earnings, but Williams was likely to grab the title of top paid
female athlete even with Sharapova not sidelined. Williams, 34, has dominated her sport for a decade
and a half. She won her second Grand Slam in 2002 and has added 19 more since then. Her career
prize money of $77.6 million is more than twice as much as any other female athlete.
Her late career tear has made Williams a compelling figure for marketers. She ranks second among
active athletes, behind only LeBron James in the U.S., on Repucom s CelebrityDBI, which tracks
consumer perceptions of celebrities based on awareness, as well as seven attributes. Her 89%
awareness level ranks in the top 3% of the nearly 4,000 celebrities Repucom follows, and she scores

Architectural Styles Of The Ottoman Empire
Distinguishable characteristics like the form, method of construction, regional features, and the
materials used to make a building or any other construction, which helps in identifying that structure
amongst others are what comprise an architectural style. Architectural styles have a vast diversity as
they represent changes in beliefs, religion, fashion, and the invention of new technology over a broad
time period. Over the ages, different empires would rule over a region with each ruler of those empires
having their own unique perspective on their religion. Subsequently, when new empires would come
in power, they would then take inspiration from the previous empire s architecture and add or remove
characteristics from the architecture based on their personal religious perspectives.
In the same way, the Ottoman empire was influenced by styles of architecture from the preceding
empires, namely the Byzantine, Iranian, and Islamic architectural styles. As a result, the Ottoman
empire s architectural style has resemblances with the Romanesque architecture, which is a blend of
the ancient Roman and Byzantine architectures. And it also has similarities with the Gothic
architecture which was heavily influenced by the Romanesque architecture and subsequently by the
Renaissance architecture. However, all three of these architectural styles also have their differences
due to individual religious perspectives.
The Byzantine architecture made with architectural traditions of the

Examples Of Outcasts In Of Mice And Men
Some people are deemed too dangerous so they are shunned and kicked out of society. This now
makes them outcasts. In the book Wolf Children Ame and Yuki are are the outcasts. Society did not
want them because they are wolf children. In Of Mice And Men Lennie was the outcast. Society did
not want him because they thought he was not mentally stable enough to be in this world. Lennie,
Ame, and Yuki are all victims of society. This is because people just don t know enough about them to
know they can be good people.
There are a lot of things that make an outcast ,and one of the main reasons is their danger. To begin
Ame and Yuki would always howl and play. This shows the other people did not understand they were
just kids, the only difference with them is that they were half wolf. This really intimidated the rest of
society.Another thing is, people judge others harshly for the mistakes they make only because these
mistakes could affect or harm them. For example Lennie in Of Mice And Men killed Curley s wife.
When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Lennie killed curley s wife he felt like a monster and he felt so guilty because he had done
something wrong. This shows that lennie regrets what he did and feels bad about it. He s not a bad
person, he just doesn t understand some things. Another example could be when Ame said I hate
wolves, even though he is one. This clearly show that he doesn t like himself because he thinks he is a
monster and people would be scared of him if they knew who he really was. Lastly, when Lennie got
kicked out of his first job because he grabbed a girls skirt. He felt very guilty and thought he was a
horrible person because he caused so much trouble. This shows he doesn t like himself and that maybe
he even wishes to be different. He s not a bad person he just makes bad

Puppy Mill Research Paper
Whenever I start to talk about my breeding/showing program, people automatically jump to the
conclusion that I am a puppy miller. To me that is very hurtful and I take it offensively. A puppy mill is
an establishment that breeds puppies to sell, typically on an intensive basis and in conditions regarded
as inhumane. Me, as a breeder, I am there to improve the breed and higher the expectations and the
breed standards, while letting the dogs live a healthy and happy lifestyle. My family, as most people
with the same goals, we only breed once every couple of years. My family and I plan each litter
carefully paying attention to genetics, health clearances, and pedigrees of the dogs being bred. Puppy
millers are the complete opposite. They breed back to back to back litters, where when the bitch, the
female dog, is done with one litter and is breed the next cycle that she has. This not only stresses the
dog out, but takes a toll on the dogs body in the long run. And with the lack of attention that they give

We want to make sure the mother is comfortable and we want to make sure nothing happens to the
puppies. When you talk to any puppy miller they probably will say that they sacrifice their time and
effort into the breeding of the dogs, but they will probably never talk to you about the long nights of
keeping watch over their 5 litters at once. They just leave the mother by themselves and when they
realize that the mother had her litter they just check to make sure everything is alive. They don t care
about the individual health of the puppy. I mean there are 6 more where that came from right? But of
corse they will check the health of the mother because they don t want to be out another source of

Dark They Were And Golden Eyed Analysis
There are lots of very big issues in this day and age such as pollution, global warming, and gun control
so we are considering the solution to leave Earth and start over on Mars. We should not explore Mars
and make a home there because humans could develop chronic boredom during the long trip to Mars,
the journey to Mars could take longer than our lifetimes, and because other planets were made for
specific lifeforms, not humans. Some might think that space exploration can be beneficial when it
comes to the economy, creating jobs, improving national security, and adding to our national prestige.
They might think this because there are lots of instances where exploring space has lead to helping the
nation and it inspires young students. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Humans have a tendency of going places they don t belong but going to another planet is a whole
different story. Paragraph 15 from the short story, Dark They Were, and Golden eyed by Ray
Bradbury, states, We don t belong here. We re Earth people. This is Mars. It was meant for Martians.
this evidence shows how Mars was not created for human life, it was created for Martians only.
Humans could mess everything up and possibly make the Martians (if there are any) go extinct by
polluting their land, or making their homes inhospitable. Also, humans could start to change
physically if they are somewhere they are not supposed to be. Paragraph 271 from the short story Dark
They Were, and Golden eyed by Ray Bradbury states, Dark people. Yellow eyes. Martians This
evidence is describing what has happened to the Earth people after a while of living on Mars. They
have changed from average people to yellow eyed Martians. Furthermore, we should not mess up a
planet that was not made for us and just stay on Earth and try to fix what we have already messed up

Sociology Impression Management
To quote Essentials of Sociology, impression management is preparing for the presentation of one s
social life. Simply meaning controlling other people s perceptions. Impression management is a
process where people aim to control the perception of other people. It could be their perception of you,
something you own, etc. In the video, you notice how politicians speak and represent themselves has a
significant influence on the way we view them. Appearances and the way they speak are some of the
many reasons we choose this politician versus that politician. This is a form of impression
management. There have been numerous times where I have used impression management and it
came in handy. Mainly because you never get a second chance to make

Contingency Planning For Major Disruptions
Contingency Planning Contingency planning is the anticipation of what may happen, combined with
the allocation of resources, and is assumed to maximize the chances of a successful response in time
of crisis; however does not guarantee successful response (Eriksson McConnell, 2011). Glendon
(2013) presents contingency planning as a layer of a three line defense termed the three Cs (3Cs) of
business continuity: contingency planning, continuity capability, crisis response. Contingency
planning is a provision for an event that is possible but cannot be predicted with certainty. He also
considers the application of the 3Cs in the entertainment industry and banking, highlighting the need
for the business continuity professional support within the organization.
Nejad, Noroomand and Kuzgunkaya (2014) discuss a contingency rerouting known as a cost effective
risk management strategy for major disruptions. The authors propose a mixed integer programming
based capacity planning tool to generate the contingency plan of the supply chain during disruptions,
considering response time and congestion, especially critical when dealing with disruptions. This is in
reference to the last decade disasters that affected the several supply chains for instance the Japan
tsunami in 2011, September 11, 2001, to name a few. Contingency rerouting is applied to improve
supply chain responsiveness to major disruptions (Nejad et al., 2014).
Contingency planning is not a recipe for guaranteeing

Evaluation Of A School Psychologist With The Simi Valley...
I interviewed Dr. Linda Vandaveer, a school psychologist with the Simi Valley Unified School
District, on February 4, 2016. I saw her at Katherine Elementary School, and she also works with two
other schools in the district. I found the interview enjoyable and interesting.
At Katherine Elementary School Dr. Vandaveer has her own portable where she can test students. Her
desk is in one corner and there was a kidney shaped table with a few chairs close by. Other than a
couple filing cabinets the room was fairly sparse and the walls were bare

then set up to evaluate the child. The team includes the school psychologist, who is the coordinator of
the team, the principal, the child s teacher, the special education teacher, speech specialist, upper and
lower grade teacher representatives, and the parents. The parents can also bring other people,
including a therapist.
The school psychologist then assigns individuals in the student study team to perform certain tests.
The psychologist does four hours of testing broken up over a couple of days, the speech specialist
does around two hours of testing, and the special education teacher spends around three hours testing
the child. The teacher and parents provide information about the child. The information gathered
includes intellectual function, visual motor integrations, behavior rating scales, parent and teacher

The Political Regime Of A Country
There is a general consensus emerges that formal institution is the main variable in shaping the
political regime of a country (Tsebelis, 1995; Helmke and Levitsky, 2004). However, there are several
conditions should be examined in order to ensure the logical flow of the relationship. Institution is
matter but it also depends on the other conditions (Przeworski, 2004). This paper review some articles
in institutions, why there is a different opinion regarding the institutions and revisit Ramseyer and
Rosenbluth s book in order to gain more understanding about the political institution theory.
Przeworski (2004) proposed two interpretations of new institutionalism theory: a) institutions as the
independent variable, and b) institutions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He proposes ten criteria to distinguish the majoritarian from the consensus in the two dimensions:
executives parties dimension and federal unitary dimension . Finally, Lijphart (2012) argues that
consensus is more democratic than majoritarian in most aspects (p. 7), because consensus model is
described by negotiation democracy . In his concluding remark, Przeworski (2004) argued that history
shapes the institution to be better, so he believed that institutions depend on the conditions under
which they established and sustain, his argument is supported by Thelen, who proposes the historical
institutionalism analysis in examining the effect of institution to the outcome. According to Thelen
(1999), institution can be both endogenous and exogenous variables and it depends on the literature
that we applied to generate the hypothesis. Institution is independent variable when we apply the
rational choice institutionalism. A group of researchers who work based on the rational choice
institutionalism tend to find the generalization across time and countries, offer deductive method and
focus on behavior of people (Thelen, 1999). On the other hand, researchers who work based on the
historical institutionalism believe that the institution s experience in solving the public s problems is a
key concept to understand the

Gandhi s Use Of Nonviolent Civil Disobedience
Until 1947, the British crown ruled over the entire country of India. Indians were treated like second
class citizens below British citizens for years, even though it was their home country. Mohandas K.
Gandhi was an Indian rights activist during this time who eventually became known as the father of
Indian nationalism for his achievements in gaining Indian autonomy while averting civil war.
Although he was an activist for Indian independence, he was also an advocate for peace. Throughout
the duration of the movement, he always encouraged the protestors to never use violence or fight back
against British officers, even when they attacked them. His tactics were considered uses of nonviolent
civil disobedience, or satyagraha . Nonviolent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He started this movement after the English cloth industry put the once thriving Indian cloth industry
out of business. It was also a statement of self sufficiency, making the spinning wheel a symbol of
Indian independence. The spinning wheel is currently featured in the center of the national flag, as
well. Another example is Gandhi s Salt March. In 1930, he walked across the country to the ocean,
with his followers in tow, in order to make salt from the sea. This was a large blow to the British
government because Gandhi made the mach symbolic. British industry had a monopoly of the salt
industry and made it illegal for anyone to make salt without a special permission, so when Gandhi
made salt, he broke the law and defied the British dominance over economy and government.
Throughout all of Gandhi s protest movements, he never encouraged or resorted to violence in order to
meet an end. His philosophy of satyagraha, or nonviolent civil disobedience, sent a message. He
believed that the people who make up a country have the power, so they can bring change without

Persuasive Techniques In Finding Nemo
In the adventurous and entertaining movie Finding Nemo, directed by Andrew Stanton and Lee
Unkrich, Marlin is a scared and untrusting fish who loses his wife and unborn kids to a barracuda
early in the movie. This makes him very cautious and fearful. In one of the earliest scenes of the story,
on Nemo s first day of school, Marlin shows his caution and fearful nature. He does it by making
Nemo check that the ocean is clear by making Nemo go in and out, saying We go out and back in. And
then we go out, and back in. And then one more time out and back in. And sometimes, if you wanna
do it four times (Stanton, Unkrich x:xx). This shows Marlin s caution and fear because he is going in
and out 3 times, and is okay with going out more! Now, something must have made him this way, and
we learned early in the movie that it was a barracuda killing his wife and kids. ... Show more content

We see another example of this when he learns that Nemo is going to the drop off, and rushes off to
stop him. Later on in the movie, when Marlin is following Dory to find Nemo, they have a chance
encounter with a shark. The shark, named Bruce, invites them to a party. Dory enthusiastically agrees,
while Marlin remains skeptic, urging Dory to caution and trying to avoid going, stating Parties are fun,
and it s tempting but (Stanton, Unkrich x:xx). While saying this, Marlin is backing away, trying to
avoid going to the sharks party . This shows caution, though this caution is for more obvious reasons,
that no fish should hang out with sharks, as they will be eaten. However, there is reason to believe that
Marlin is especially scared of predatory fish, as he lost his wife and 359 kids to one. This, added to
Marlins already fearful nature, made him more cautious than

  • 2. Social Norms This paper will give a definition of deviance by analyzing the varying types and definition of deviance. Violations of social norms is key to defining deviance. There are three key features within social norms: time, place, and situation, that come together to establish deviance. The relativity of the all of those events combined into one along with who is perceiving the act is what defines deviance Social Norm are informal rules that help govern a society. Norms differ from place, time period, and situations. When norms are violated and witnessed the offender, the one who broke the norm, is then put in to one of two punishment categories. Primary deviance is occurs when the offender breaks a lesser norm and is only slightly punished, it does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Criminal deviance is when a person becomes a deviant by disobeying the laws. Criminal deviance is easy to define because even though laws change from time, place, and situation they are written down and have already been agreed upon. Social deviance is much more difficult to define due to the informal nature of social norms. A person can be either non deviant, a criminal deviant, a social deviant, or bother a criminal and social deviant. Obey the speed limit can show all four these deviants. On highways in America the left lane is referred to as the fast lane and the right hand lane as the slow lane . A person going the maximum speed limit in the right hand lane is breaking neither laws nor social norms. A person going ten miles an hour(mph) under the speed limit in the right lane, assuming they are not slowing down to turn, is breaking the social norm of not going at least the speed limit, and is therefore a social deviant. They are not breaking any laws, however. A person going five to ten mph over the speed limit in the left hand lane is following the social norm. Since the person is going over the speed limit they are now considered a criminal deviant. A person who is driving 50 mph regardless of what lane they are is breaking both social norms and criminal laws, which makes them both a social and criminal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout life I have encountered several different mediums of music including eight track recordings, vinyl records, cassette tapes, mini discs, digital audio tapes (DAT), and compact discs. I have always considered the CD to be the greatest technological advancement (as a medium of music) of my generation because it was the first digital audio format made readily available to the general public. An Internet surfer can search for music in MP3 format, and by the simple click of a button, have the music transferred to his or her computer in as little as five minutes or even less. While a portion of MP3 files in existence are created by individual, unsigned music artists, there is also a large amount of commercial, copyright protected music freely available for download from the Internet. This is the beginning of a complicated argument. Now that it is possible for consumers to download copyrighted material free of charge, major record labels have a great fear. It is a cancer that is only limited to males, as only males have prostate glands. The exact etiology is still unknown; however, it is thought to be a multifactorial disease with inherited genetics playing a major role (Xu 2013). Particularly, people with fathers and brothers with prostate cancer are at increased risk for developing it themselves. Chances are you answered yes since more than 99% of women...have used at least one contraceptive method (Contraceptive Use in the United States). But you are probably using the wrong type. I can enlighten you to the most effective and all around most appealing birth control on the market known as the ParaGard IUD. Before we dive in we must ask ourselves, what is birth control? What is the difference between it and contraception? Well, the only difference is what the common belief in society is, of each. Society commonly thinks that birth control is a tiny pill that takes care of your own or someone else s pregnancy worries. This is true, but it is only a type of birth control. Also, in false thinking, many individuals believe contraception is a fancy word for condoms. As with the pill condoms are only a type of contraceptive. Society only has a small spectrum of what contraceptive and birth control is. In reality, they are definitely the same. By definition, birth control is contraception; an online dictionary states that it is the deliberate prevention of conception or impregnation (MerriamWebster.org). There are many forms of contraception. It is a major contributor to why our population is limited to 7.4 billion people (Current World Population). • 13. The American Dream In The Overnighters And The California... Since the inception of this country, the concept of the American Dream has been driven forward by men and women who believe that they can be as successful as they desire if they only roll up their sleeves, take charge of their lives, and work hard to accomplish their goals. Indeed, it was this idea that brought many foreigners to settle in this country in the first place. These types of men and women jump at any opportunity to better their lives, such as when hundreds of thousands flocked out to California in 1849 to become wealthy through the search and acquisition of gold. The underlying situation at play in The Overnighters is no different from the search for the New World or the California Gold Rush. The communities that form around such fountains of opportunity often strain the surrounding areas, however, and the Overnighter community of vagabonds and strangers that formed in the town of Williston, North Dakota was no different, ultimately becoming a source of conflict that forced the metaphorical moral hands of nearly everyone they surrounded. In recent years, the North Dakota oil boom has attracted men and women looking for wealth and success from all over the United States. In some cases, these people packed up nearly everything they have, left everything they had ever known, and made the hike to North Dakota to seek a job in the oil industry that they did not know they would receive once there. • 14. Types Of An Equilibrium System STSE: Equilibrium Systems 1. Choose a process which uses an equilibrium system. How calcium oxalate kidney stones form in a human body? Calcium oxalate stones are the most common type of kidney stones to form. They are solid masses that form within the kidney because of a great amount of oxalate in one s urine and too little liquid. Oxalate is found in foods, and when the body is done processing the nutrients it requires from digestion, waste products travel to the kidneys. The kidneys make urine which removes these waste products, however if there are too many waste products present in too little liquid, there are crystals that form. Crystals will then stick together to form a kidney stone which can t get passed through and out of the body as urine. Crystals that are specific to kidney stones are formed of oxalate which sticks to calcium also found in the kidneys. The formation of calcium oxalate kidney stones is an equilibrium system. 2. Write the balanced equation for the system. CaC2O4 (s) ( removed HTML ) Ca2+(aq) + C2O42 (aq) The forward reaction for this reversible reaction shows calcium oxalate breaking down into calcium and oxalate ions. The reverse reaction is where calcium and oxalate ions form calcium oxalate kidney stones. 3. Explain the shifts that occur in this equilibrium using Le Chatelier s Principle. Unlocking Self Values and Beliefs as a Nursing Student According to Duffy Randall (2006), the Sanskrit word mandala, meaning magic circle, circumference, and center, was first adopted by Swiss psychiatrist, Carl Gustav Jung, to describe the drawings that he and his patients drew. Each of the drawings within a mandala represent a connection to the artist, making every mandala unique. Appendix #37, also known as mandala Me, Myself I , consist of the colours blue, red, yellow, black, and white. Appendix #37 includes the images of a family of four, the Canadian flag, and a stairwell on the clouds. This paper will identify three main values and beliefs, and their points of origin, followed by clear and logical connections between self s values and beliefs and how they impact and influence self as a nurse, the connection of each value/belief to appendix #37, and finally, the comprehensive summary of the paper. A mandala is a form of art where one can learn and grow, while increasing one s intellectual (Duffy Randall, 2006). The purpose of the self mandala reflective paper is to use the drawings and images from the appendix #37 as visual representations of one s values and beliefs, in order to consider the implications for self as a nurse. • 16. The United States Tax Code With the ever increasing complexity of the United States tax code, it has become more important than ever for companies to understand and implement possible tax benefits for the company and its employees. One major benefit that applies to both is employer provided meals. Employer provided meals have become a major topic due to their double sided benefits. These are both tax beneficial to employers, as the meals can be deducted by the business as an expense on its federal income tax return, which reduces the business tax liability. Concurrently, the benefit of the provided meal is excluded from the taxable gross income of the employee, providing the employee with a tax free benefit. After fully understanding the laws related to employer provided meals, a business could begin thinking about implementation of the benefit. Due to the nature of the benefits, there are several sections of applicable tax code that will need to be considered. This comes from the United States Code Title 26, which is the Internal Revenue Code (IRC). The meals are both tax beneficial to a company and its employees. The meals can be deducted by the business as an expense on its federal income tax return, which reduces the tax liability. Employees also receive a benefit from the excludability of the provided meal from their taxable gross income. Not only was there a war, but there was also a series of disastrous harvests. Taxes got higher, and more than twenty people who were involved with a Luddite Act were hung. In 1812, there was also the only assassination of a prime minister, who was shot dead in the House of Commons. The Grimm Brothers have put the dark times of 1812 into their stories. Some of their stories contain violence, child abuse, and wicked mothers. They came up with these types of stories after their father died, and when they struggled out of school. That gave them enough time to research and put together a collection of folk tales. Now you can see why the Grimm s Cinderella was dark and gloomy. Although the plot stayed the same, over the years, the story did get lighter. Disney s Cinderella came out in 1950. In 1950, learning information was not by fear, but by engaging happiness. Disney s Cinderella transforms the Grimm s Cinderella into a happier atmosphere. While some similarities between Disney s Cinderella and Grimm s Cinderella are noticeable, the differences are pronounced, especially when referring to the slippers, her father, and the ball. Disney s Cinderella and Grimm s Cinderella are alike in many ways. One of the things that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. How Does Chlorine Kills Pathogens Chlorine kills pathogens such as bacteria and viruses by breaking the chemical bonds in their molecules. When chlorine is added to water, chloric acids forms: Cl2+H2O = HOCl + H+ + Cl . Depending on the pH value, chloric acid partly expires to hypochlorite ions: HOCl = OCl + H+. Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) and hypochlorite ions (OCl ) will form free chlorine when bound together, and they are primary disinfectants throughout the process. However, the chlorine dosage has to be high enough to reach the breakpoint for a significant amount of chlorine to remain in the water. When passing the breakpoint, the addition of chlorine to the water will only produce free chlorine remains which is essential for disinfection. Also, according to the theoretical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While disinfectant residual is important because (similar to the previous point) the more residual present, the better secondary disinfection would be which ensure that the water is protected longer as it travels from the plant to the consumers. Finally pH is important in influencing the degree of disinfection provided by chlorination because pH determine the primary form of chlorine that exists in the water. Without considering ammonia, at a pH lower than 7.5, most the chlorines are HOCl; which is 80 90x more effective as a disinfectant than its counterpart OCl , which is the form of chlorine that exists mostly when pH is greater than 7.5. In terms of chloramine, when the pH is smaller than 4.5 it is mostly trichloramine (NCl3). When the pH is between 4.5 and 8.5 it is mostly monochloramine and dichloramine (NH2Cl and NHCl2) and when the pH is greater than 8.5, then it is mostly monochloramine present (NH2Cl). Out of all three chloramines, monochloramine is the most favoured since it is very effective in secondary disinfection due to its stability, control over biofilms and lack of offensive odour and taste. Therefore, pH plays a critical role in whether the chlorine exists as HOCl or monochloramine, which are the most effective and favourable version of chlorine for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Description Of A Photo Is Itinerant Itinerancy is a word that implies movement from place to place. To say a photo is itinerant is to acknowledge its ability to travel. Imagine a post card sent from Mykonos, decorated with the Greco roman architecture and Mediterranean beaches, as it arrives at someone`s snow covered mail box in Colorado. The displaced images on that post card bears different meanings to the persons receiving them. Memories and histories, specific to an ever increasingly foreign place and time, travel inside and with images, waiting to be uncovered and dissimilated. The Photographs ability to travel geographically prevents it from remaining fixed in any location. Images have an innate propensity to escape the confinements they have been created in and flee to new unfamiliar places. Photographs spore like pollen as they voyage around the globe leaving traces of themselves behind. Arts and all other forms of works about or inspired by original images are vessels, carrying in them a soup of new and borrowed ingredients. The various ingredients flavor each other and result in new altered carnations of the referent ingredient/works. Printed texts in literature can capsulate the many aspects of an images existence, giving photos new and sustained life through alternate modes, forms and mediums. Captions, for example, identify and date photos. Captions paired with photographs prevent the photos from being so easily swept into the abyss of meaningless images. Critics who write ... They are the ones who regularly visit underprivileged in villages and assist them to work their way out of poverty. In a vast country such as India which has many geographical and infrastructure challenges it is essential that field officers spend most of their time in the field. However, 30% of their valuable time is lost in essential paper work involved in the field, data entry and other administrative tasks. In order to relieve them from these cumbersome and error prone tasks, SKS has embarked on a business transformation model that streamlines the field operations. As a part of digitization, SKS has provided tabs that work exclusively offline. Applications deployed on the tab are customized, secured and encrypted with international standards. The SM just needs to sync the tab with the desktop to get his mundane tasks done in seconds. • 23. Serena Williams, The French Open Final Saturday Essay Serena Williams lost the French Open final Saturday to Garbine Muguruza. It marked her third failed attempt to win a 22nd singles Grand Slam title, which would tie the Open era record set by Steffi Graf. Williams was extremely gracious in defeat as she addressed the crowd at Roland Garros in French. The tennis icon can afford to be gracious these days: She earned $28.9 million over the past 12 months. That makes her the world s highest paid female athlete over that span, unseating Maria Sharapova, who had held the title the past 11 years. US player Serena Williams returns the ball to Netherlands Kiki Bertens during their women s semi final match at the Roland Garros 2016 French Tennis Open in Paris on June 3, 2016. A drug suspension dinged Sharapova s earnings, but Williams was likely to grab the title of top paid female athlete even with Sharapova not sidelined. Williams, 34, has dominated her sport for a decade and a half. She won her second Grand Slam in 2002 and has added 19 more since then. Her career prize money of $77.6 million is more than twice as much as any other female athlete. Her late career tear has made Williams a compelling figure for marketers. She ranks second among active athletes, behind only LeBron James in the U.S., on Repucom s CelebrityDBI, which tracks consumer perceptions of celebrities based on awareness, as well as seven attributes. • 24. Architectural Styles Of The Ottoman Empire Distinguishable characteristics like the form, method of construction, regional features, and the materials used to make a building or any other construction, which helps in identifying that structure amongst others are what comprise an architectural style. Architectural styles have a vast diversity as they represent changes in beliefs, religion, fashion, and the invention of new technology over a broad time period. Over the ages, different empires would rule over a region with each ruler of those empires having their own unique perspective on their religion. Subsequently, when new empires would come in power, they would then take inspiration from the previous empire s architecture and add or remove characteristics from the architecture based on their personal religious perspectives. In the same way, the Ottoman empire was influenced by styles of architecture from the preceding empires, namely the Byzantine, Iranian, and Islamic architectural styles. As a result, the Ottoman empire s architectural style has resemblances with the Romanesque architecture, which is a blend of the ancient Roman and Byzantine architectures. And it also has similarities with the Gothic architecture which was heavily influenced by the Romanesque architecture and subsequently by the Renaissance architecture. However, all three of these architectural styles also have their differences due to individual religious perspectives. The Byzantine architecture made with architectural traditions of the ... Society did not want him because they thought he was not mentally stable enough to be in this world. Lennie, Ame, and Yuki are all victims of society. This is because people just don t know enough about them to know they can be good people. There are a lot of things that make an outcast ,and one of the main reasons is their danger. To begin Ame and Yuki would always howl and play. This shows the other people did not understand they were just kids, the only difference with them is that they were half wolf. To me that is very hurtful and I take it offensively. A puppy mill is an establishment that breeds puppies to sell, typically on an intensive basis and in conditions regarded as inhumane. Me, as a breeder, I am there to improve the breed and higher the expectations and the breed standards, while letting the dogs live a healthy and happy lifestyle. My family, as most people with the same goals, we only breed once every couple of years. My family and I plan each litter carefully paying attention to genetics, health clearances, and pedigrees of the dogs being bred. Puppy millers are the complete opposite. They breed back to back to back litters, where when the bitch, the female dog, is done with one litter and is breed the next cycle that she has. • 29. Contingency Planning For Major Disruptions Contingency Planning Contingency planning is the anticipation of what may happen, combined with the allocation of resources, and is assumed to maximize the chances of a successful response in time of crisis; however does not guarantee successful response (Eriksson McConnell, 2011). Glendon (2013) presents contingency planning as a layer of a three line defense termed the three Cs (3Cs) of business continuity: contingency planning, continuity capability, crisis response. Contingency planning is a provision for an event that is possible but cannot be predicted with certainty. He also considers the application of the 3Cs in the entertainment industry and banking, highlighting the need for the business continuity professional support within the organization. Nejad, Noroomand and Kuzgunkaya (2014) discuss a contingency rerouting known as a cost effective risk management strategy for major disruptions. The authors propose a mixed integer programming based capacity planning tool to generate the contingency plan of the supply chain during disruptions, considering response time and congestion, especially critical when dealing with disruptions. This is in reference to the last decade disasters that affected the several supply chains for instance the Japan tsunami in 2011, September 11, 2001, to name a few. The Political Regime Of A Country There is a general consensus emerges that formal institution is the main variable in shaping the political regime of a country (Tsebelis, 1995; Helmke and Levitsky, 2004). This paper review some articles in institutions, why there is a different opinion regarding the institutions and revisit Ramseyer and Rosenbluth s book in order to gain more understanding about the political institution theory. This makes him very cautious and fearful. In one of the earliest scenes of the story, on Nemo s first day of school, Marlin shows his caution and fearful nature. He does it by making Nemo check that the ocean is clear by making Nemo go in and out, saying We go out and back in. And then we go out, and back in. And then one more time out and back in. And sometimes, if you wanna do it four times (Stanton, Unkrich x:xx). This shows Marlin s caution and fear because he is going in and out 3 times, and is okay with going out more!
