Social Justice Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of social justice can be both challenging and intellectually
rewarding. The complexity of the subject requires a comprehensive understanding of various
social, economic, and political factors that contribute to the ongoing discourse on justice and
equality. Crafting a thoughtful and well-researched essay entails delving into historical contexts,
examining systemic inequalities, and analyzing the impact of policies and movements.
One of the difficulties lies in navigating the diverse perspectives and theories surrounding social
justice, which may include but are not limited to feminist theories, critical race theory, and
economic justice frameworks. Ensuring that the essay remains balanced and fair while addressing
the multifaceted nature of the topic is crucial. Additionally, the writer must grapple with the
evolving nature of social justice issues, staying abreast of current events and ongoing debates to
provide relevant and up-to-date information.
Furthermore, expressing one's ideas coherently and persuasively is a challenge, as social justice is
a sensitive and often emotionally charged subject. Striking the right tone, avoiding biases, and
maintaining a respectful and inclusive approach are essential aspects of successfully conveying
the message to a diverse audience.
In conclusion, writing a social justice essay demands a nuanced understanding of the topic, an
ability to synthesize complex information, and effective communication skills. It requires
dedication to research, critical thinking, and an awareness of the evolving nature of social issues.
While challenging, the process of exploring and articulating one's thoughts on social justice can
be a valuable exercise in fostering a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding justice
and equality in society.

threat to human lives from both an injury as well as a financial perspective. Given
that vehicles are designed to provide a smooth means of transportation,
manufacturers have long been in the process of designing the vehicles that are based
on principles of efficiency, reliability and safety. However, due to reasons such as
human error, circumstantial error, poor vision and negligence, accidents occur. Today,
special attention is focused on the technologies that can reduce traffic collisions.
Hence, Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) technology is proposed which are simple to
implement. The main objective of this paper is to alert the driver when he closes to
the front vehicle by using camera and ultrasonic sensor and to communicate mutually
for information exchange by using Xbee.

I.INTRODUCTION
In India, the percentage of killing of people by accidents is far more than those by
diseases. A survey said that approximately 45% of people are died due to road
accidents. [1,2] Nowadays, life style has become very fast and busy. People are
always in hurry. An unlucky event such as road
Principles Of The Immaculate Conception

I have upheld the intent and principles of the Paul VI Academic Honor Code while
completing this assignment.
The Immaculate Conception is Mary s birth without stain of original sin. The word
Immaculate itself means without stain . Mary was protected by God s grace. From
the moment she was born, she was in a state of sanctifying grace and free from the
corrupt effects from original sin. The angel Gabriel said Hail, full of grace, the
Lord is with you (Luke 1:28). This meaning that Mary was born with the gifts of
grace by God. She is also preserved by original sin and the Lord is guiding her and
she is protected by God. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the
Father blessed Mary more than anyone else he has created. He chose Mary to be
the basis of the world and to be holy and not blamed for the faults of the world. The
splendor of an entirely unique holiness by which Mary is enriched from the first
instant of her conception comes wholly from Christ. She is redeemed, in a more
exalted fashion, by reason of the merits of her Son (CCC,492). This meaning that
Mary was saved in superior fashion and it was because she was going to be the
mother of our savior Jesus Christ. Mary is also filled with holiness which she first
was blessed with from God when she was born. The Blessed Virgin Marywas the
second person to be created and born immaculate. Eve was the first person

Reconciling Religious and Scientific Perspectives of Creation
In the beginning was the big bang, [i] writes John Polkinghorne, a physicist turned
theologian. As the reader follows through the remainder of his cosmic creation story,
the reader is intrigued at how mystical and religious the story sounds. The space
boiled, in the rapid expansion of the inflation era, blowing the universe apart with
incredible rapidity in the much less than 10 30 seconds that it lasted. . . . The world
suddenly became transparent and a universal sea of radiation was left to continue
cooling on its own . . . [ii] Then, the story unfolds to tell of the creation of hydrogen
and helium and the creation of stars. The death of stars follow, which... Show more

He has scaled the mountains of ignorance, he is about to conquer the highest peak:
as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who
have been sitting there for centuries. [v] Though Jastrow treats the issue as settled
and declares that scientists have finally been defeated, it is too early to reach any
judgements on the implications the new cosmology has for both science and religion.
Our image of the origin of the universe is not yet complete and further investigations
must be conducted before the towel is thrown in. Science has still much to offer to
help us understand how the universe came to be. Therefore, let us now attempt to
solve the cosmic mystery of creation by referring to the great scientific minds as our
guide. Let us now rewind the story of the big bang and look into the origins of the
universe.
The idea that the universe had an origin was a result of the discovery of the
expansionary universe.[vi] The theoretical groundwork for the expansionary universe
theory was conceived, ironically, by Albert Einstein (a firm believer in the infinite
and unchanging universe) in his work concerning relativity.[vii] The expansionary
universe theory was later confirmed by Edwin Hubble in the 1920 s when he showed
through careful observation of the
Horn Man Myth
One day, there was a girl named Skylar who was thirteen years old. She and her
friend Leah went to a cafГ© just around the corner from Skylar s house. While they
were walking there, a tall man dressed in all black approached Leah. He whispered,
Go to the art gallery and find the key near HM, then go to Skylar s backyard and
open up the locked box in the shed. Then the man walked away. Leah told Skylar
what the man said, and then they went to the cafГ©. Over at the cafГ©, the two
friends were discussing what HM could be. They thought it could stand for horn man
or hi miss, but then they thought it through and realized that it was happy man. This
made sense since just one hour earlier at home, Skylar and Leah were talking about
the happy man
Vladimir Lenin And The Russian Revolution
Vladimir Lenin was the leader of the Russian revolution. Lenin s reason for writing
State and Revolution was to explain his view on Karl Marx s reasoning for a state
and views on what the proletariat, working class, should do during a revolution.
The goal of a revolution such as this, a communist revolution, is to give the power
to the working people, which is to say that Lenin, similar to Castro and Nkrumah,
wants to be free from imperialism. Another is to Lenin s view on revolution is that
it can only be achieved through nationality and unity.(Lenin, State and Revolution,
page 22) The overthrow of bourgeois rule can be accomplished only by the
proletariat, as the particular class, which, by the economic conditions of its
existence, is being prepared for this work and is provided both with the
opportunity and the power to perform it. (Lenin 23) He believes that a revolution
can only succeed with the use of violence from the proletariat against the party that
is in control.(Lenin, 22 23) The replacement of the bourgeois by the proletarian
state is impossible without a violent revolution. (Lenin, 22) As a leader Lenin is an
advocate of change. He is a communist and believes in giving power to the people,
mainly the proletariat.(Lenin 20) Kwame Nkrumah, was the leader of Ghana first as
Prime Minister then as President once they gained independence from Great Britain.

Advantages Of A Toaster Oven
We have all had days where we just want one little piece of toast browned to
perfection and not have to turn on an entire oven and heat up the whole kitchen in
the process. Or the times when you have a house full coming over, and it seems as
if you need just more oven rack to bake the rolls on or to keep a dish warm while
the meat finishes up cooking. Or perhaps, it is a summer evening and a pizza sounds
amazing except the kitchen is still blazing from a record setting heatwave blasting
through, and the last thing you want to do is generate more heat in your home.
The list of examples could go on and on as to why a toaster oven is an extremely
helpful if not essential kitchen appliance to own along with your conventional oven.

Not all toaster ovens are created equal. Some come with the very basics. A dial to
set the temperature and a rack inside to hold the food. Others are more elite and
come with touch screens and rotisserie hooks. Whatever level of toaster oven you
choose, though, the majority come with a perfectly sized pan to fit inside the
oven, so you can place most of your cooking items on it rather than directly on the
rack. Pizza pans and cookie sheets are made to fit inside the differently sized toaster
ovens. Others have stones you can set inside which your pizza can sit on top of for
the ultimate taste. Brick inserts can make the food taste as if it has come from a

could all of these disasters happen? Simply put, all of these scenarios involve
components which rely on the use of cyberspace. While citizens of the United

By United States, I mean our country. As a product of my generation, however, I
envision our country as being the leader of the free world though. So it follows
that I conclude it is also important to recognize that a leader must set the standard
by which they wish to lead. Therefore, if the United States fails, the free world
fails. Likewise, when any single piece of free world fails, then by extension, it can
be reasoned that the United States has failed in its leadership. When I say the
United States is ill prepared for cyberwarfare, I am not only speaking solely to attack
directly against our nation alone. I am also referring to our standing as leader of the
free world, which no doubt is weakened any time one piece of the free world is
weakened or vulnerable to threat exposure.
By using the term ill prepared, I aim to convey that the United States is not
equipped with enough protection to prevent every possible instance of the threat
of cyberwarfare from occurring. I propose we are not where our nation should be
in terms of dealing with all actual occurrences of the threat of cyberwarfare, were it
to be fully realized. This can be carried over into our response capability to any such
attack, which may manifest in many forms. For example, our response against
perpetrators and those who aid or comfort

Hypertension
Hypertension and atherosclerosis are correlated diseases as it was discussed before.
It is also a risk factor in cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Damage to the
endothelium occurs in hypertension and are caused by increased hemodynamic
pressure on endothelium and may increase the permeability of arterial walls for
lipoproteins. Also, high concentrations of Angiotensin II stimulates SMC growth,
increases inflammation and accelerates LDL oxidation in hypertensive patients.
Defect in Nitric Oxide Production or Function
The production of nitric oxide (NO) in the vessels is dependent on the enzyme nitric
oxide endothelial synthase (eNOS) after stress and stimulation by agonists such as
bradykinin and acetylcholine. The most important function of NO is vasodilation.
Vascular dysfunctions such as atherosclerosis can be caused by dysfunction of
eNOS. In fact, damage to the endothelium is present as a result of all the risk factors
for atherosclerosis such as hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and
smoking. The, eNOS expression is decreased in advanced
Difference Between PHP And Ruby On Rails
Ruby on Rails versus PHP
PHP and Ruby on Rails are both awesome web languages. Some developers prefer
PHP to Ruby on Rails while others prefer Ruby on Rails to PHP. There are some
reasons that are accustomed to that.
For starters let s understand what they entail:
What is Ruby on Rails and PHP
For starters Ruby on Rails is a framework that has Ruby as its main language. PHP on
the other hand is a web programming language that works with storage, editing,
transmission and integration of databases.
PHP is a language that works with the back end side of a web page or app. It
mainly uses sets of scripts to link one thing and the other. Ruby on the other hand is
a programming language that provides back end solutions to apps or websites. Ruby

Cons of Ruby on Rails
You will need a lot of time and patience to full learn Ruby and learn all its tricks and
tips
Its processing time tends to be slower as compared to other languages.
Yes, it does have some resources but they aren t enough. Thus in trouble shooting
problems you may find it difficult to get a forum that addresses such an issue.
Its updates and development are slow.
Conclusion
PHP and Ruby on Rails are both awesome in building applications and websites.
However they differ in many ways, if you want to learn fast start with PHP. You
should also remember to do regular practice so as to perfect in it. Ruby on Rails
takes more time as you have to setup a lot of stuff before starting the actual coding.
This can be tiresome and take time. Most web servers and hosting companies also
support PHP, unlike Ruby on Rails that is not that flexible. Versus
Learning Ruby on Rails can be very advantageous for anyone, as you will manage to
be on top of the team. Most people know PHP; imagine being unique with your skills
in Ruby, awesome, right?
However much there are differences between the two, you should try them out. They
will definitely change your whole coding

L.A. Gang Member by Sanyika Shakur
Kody Scott grew up in South Central L.A. during the nineteen sixties and seventies,
soon after the creation of the Crips. Raised in poverty without a father, and a full
family raised solely by his mother, Kody Scott led the stereotypical ghetto life, a
poor and broken home. However he does not blame this on his own personal decision
to join the Crips while only eleven year s old. The allure of the respect and glory that
bangers got, along with the unity of the set (name for the specific gang) is what drew
him into the gang. Once joined, he vowed to stay in the set for life, and claimed that
banging was his life. After many years of still believing this, he eventually realized

However, once out of prison for a while, he knew that this wasn t possible in the
real world, like it was in prison. He now had to make a choice. Once in Prison
again, after a failed attempt at gang unity, he realized that the Afrikan race as a
whole along with his newfound responsibility to his family(wife and kids), was
more important than the set , and that he would now leave the set and the gang
life. However this was no easy task, as most who attempt to leave the set don t
succeed or die trying. It took him a whole three years to leave the Crips. He now,
however, unlike before, realized that a banging was wrong for more than just the
black on black crime and such, but that it was a matter of morals and family, and
he now no longer took pride in his past actions, but still took responsibility for
them(page 357). Once out of prison again, he was now out of the set and could
start a more normal life with his family and with a real paying job. He was still
however part of the New Afrikan Independence Movement, and also devoted to
stopping the causes of gangsterism(page 377).
This complete turnaround in his life and new devotion, is the purpose of the book
he wrote. At the start of the book he tells of how he joined the gang and why. He
also tells of all of his glory stories and how much he enjoyed banging. However as
the book slowly progresses, he starts to mature and to develop mentally. Until toward
the end of the book, in
The Language Of Silence By Maxine Hong Kingston
Language is much more than a method of communication. Permeated within it are
traditions, customs, and legacies of one s culture. The identity of an entire population
is in the distinct vocalizations of their native language. Unfortunately, as a wave of
immigrants enters the United States at young ages, many face language barriers that
pose significant challenges. Language barriers affect a multitude of immigrant
populations to different degrees. This, in turn, causes many of them to abandon not
only their native tongue but a piece of their ethnic identity, as well. In Maxine Hong

Every afternoon, my mother would take my siblings and I down to the community

Once my mother took notice of this, she came forward and placed a hand over the

the girl ran off. After a minute or so, an older woman approached my mother and I,
with a string of curse words. It was the parent of the girl from earlier. Her husband

of this groundbreaking science fiction film. As incredible as the special effects and
cinematography are in this film, the Wachowski brothers have significantly bolstered
the appeal of The Matrixby an elaborately constructed story spanning time and reality.
These allusions and symbols include referencesfrom infamous writers such as Lewis
Carol, Jung, John Bunyan and Descartes. However, the most meaningful and
abundant references come from The Holy Bible.1

The main plot of The Matrix is that Artificial Intelligence has taken over humanity.
These human created machines now harvest humans in crops in order to provide
energy for them to survive. It is known that the human body cannot survive without
the mind, so the Artificial Intelligence has designed a computer generated world in
which the human mind can live and survive. This computer generated world is
known as the Matrix. It is a computerized simulation of life as we know it, or we
imagine we know it. What the movies postulates is a version of virtual reality so
vast and tentacular as to encompass the entire globe. 3 The story line of this film
suggests that humans are not really living a real life. It suggests that no human has
every used their eyes, ears, muscles, or any other sense. As Laurence Fishburne s
character, Morpheus, puts it; the matrix is a computer generated dream world built
to keep us under control, in order to change a human being into [a battery]. 4
Realizing that the main characters of this film are a few of the only humans
functioning in the real world as we know it now, there must be some form of
artificially created authority. These authority figures are known as agents and the

Gettysburg Movie Historical Analysis
With Hollywood producers jumping all over the idea of making historical wars and
battles come to life on the big screen, many times fabricated and over the top details
are added to enhance the overall plots. Keeping this in mind, I analyzed the movie
Gettysburg, directed by Ronald F. Maxwell, for historical accuracies. The battle of
Gettysburgwas the bloodiest battle in American history, many movies have been
made to re enact the horrors that unraveled within those days; however, many of them
are incorrect. The movie Gettysburg, directed by Ronald F. Maxwell, seems to be
mostly accurate with the historical events. The defense of Little Round Top was a
pivotal moment within the battle of Gettysburg, the winner of this skirmish would

This is the main attack for which the 20th Maine regiment has been preparing for.
During this clash, there are multiple waves that the regiment has to defend against.
The director is trying to convey a point to the audience concerning the sheer
numbers of the Confederate army by visually creating multiple wave attacks. The
20th Maine regiment is also a massive army especially with the extra help given

under guard into the regimental area of the 20th Maine. The 2nd Maine men were

film, only six men could represent the historically accurate number of 120 men. In
the film, Chamberlain talked to these men, saying, Any of you fellas care to join us,
any man who joins us now there will be no court marshal (Gettysburg). The director
is trying to make it seem like this bit of help is substantially aiding the 20th regiment
without having to cast the massive numbers of people. In the article, The Battle of
Gettysburg , it tells more about the numbers, explaining how, On the second day of
battle, the Union defended a fishhook shaped range of hills and ridges south of
Gettysburg with around 90,000 soldiers. Confederates essentially wrapped around the
Union position with 70,000 soldiers (The Battle of Gettysburg). The massive amount

Sample Of Contract Law Reflection
Reflection 1 The principle of contract law Sir George is referring to, is Freedom of
Contract; it is that any party can make a legally binding agreement based on
mutual agreement and free of choice with no government interference. The two
basic principles are that they can enter into a contract with whomever they like and
they can agree on whatever terms and conditions they like. In 1875, when this
statement was made public policy was not discussed often and thus it was not the
major part of debates between the Executives and the Legislatures. Now, there are
many laws which promote public policy and any contract established between
parties must abide by it. For example, if you enter into a contract with somebody to
work at a wage lower than the minimum wage it would be against public policy. Sir
George stated that the utmost necessity in the formation of contract should be the
freedom to contract, over public policy. If an Australian High Court judge said
something similar today, it would be against the law, as earlier freedom of
contract was unrestricted; earlier referring to the views of Sir George. He believed
that freedom to contract was the principle of any contract as very few people
discussed public policy at that time, unlike today where judges are supposed to
understand the concept of public policy. Reflection 2 The binding elements of a
contract are offer and acceptance. Offer is an expression of willingness to contract.

National Strategy For Homeland Security Agencies
Introduction
The state has the mandate of safeguarding citizens of hit places from suffering the
disproportionate impact of natural disasters. The hurricane that hit Jacksonville town
in Florida crippled the city s infrastructure. The destroyed power and telephone lines
stopped all the communication and transportation systems in the city. The copper
wires were left hanging precariously along the charred roads. Looters took the
opportunity to steal the expensive copper wires and motorists drove around
carelessly as all the traffic lights had gone off. The local government experienced
difficulties in trying to contain the situation. The task to locate, triage and secure
citizens were nearly impossible as the whole town was in chaos. The local authorities
could have coordinated with various Homeland security agencies to restore normalcy.
The Coordinated Responses and Key Resources office of the president has come up
with three main strategies to respond to disasters and protect the critical infrastructure
in the USA. The President has charged the National Strategy for Homeland Security
(NSHS) with the responsibility to address the vulnerabilities that involve more than
one sector or needs the responsiveness of more than one agency. The advanced
strategy calls for interconnectivity and complementarity of homeland security
systems. The second approach involves the National Strategy for the Physical
Protection of Critical Infrastructures, and Key Assets (NSPPCIKA) identifies
No Impact Man by Colin Beavan
We can all change the people around us by changing ourselves. Colin Beavan looks
at the world differently than most people. Little by little the human population is
slowly diminishing the means of having a sustainable and healthy environment to
live in. We are unaware of the harmful effects most things we use every single day
have on the environment. Colin Beavan decided to make a positive impact on the
environment to teach people about the negative consequences that would happen,
if we were to keep living in an unsustainable way. For an entire year Colin Beavan,
his wife Michelle, and his two year old daughter Isabella lived a life with no impact
to the environment. The year was filled with several challenges that they had to
overcome as a family. Well to start, by buying the audio book of No Impact Man by
Colin Beavan, I have already helped the environment out in a positive way, as to
buying a paperback copy. When I first began reading No Impact Man by Colin
Beavan many emotions ran through my mind. I personally never put much thought
into how my everyday life can effect the environment. I never understood why
Beavan would want to put himself through a year of torture, let alone his wife and
two year old daughter. I have nothing against bettering the environment in a positive
way. I just could never see myself taking it to the extent that Beavan took it to. I
didn t agree with the fact that he was forcing his two year old daughter to participate

Brief Summary Of The Documentary Darwin Nightmare
Darwin Nightmare is a documentary produced in 2004 by Hubert Sauper dealing
with the issue of fishing industry around the lake of Victoria in Tanzania. Watching
this documentary took me to the history of political economy theories after the cold
war, which was introduced by Soviet Union and its allies as well as the US and its
western allies. According to them the best economic system is the free market and it
was claimed that free market system will open the option to the developing countries
to enter the new phase of globalization, which will help them to tackle the issues of
poverty and hunger. The concept of globalization opened the opportunity for several
companies to enter the African, Asian and Latin American countries for the purpose

This paper explores the nature of helping behavior within peer directed small groups
that may be most effective for learning, especially for students who have difficulty
with the material. Drawing on examples from recent research on student learning in
collaborative mathematics classrooms in a US middle school, we identify student
behaviors that are necessary for effective help seeking and help giving, as well as
responsibilities of teachers in establishing classroom conditions that bring about
effective helping behavior. The findings show that effective help seekers ask precise
questions, persist in seeking help, and apply the explanations received; effective help
givers provide detailed explanations of the material as well as opportunities for help
recipients to apply the help received, and monitor student understanding. These
critical helping behaviors reflect the constructivist views embodied in Piagetian and
Vygotskian perspectives on learning in social contexts.(Webb Mastergeorge, 2003)
A Strategy For Helping Students Learn How to Learn. The thing most interesting to
me about this study is its title. I believe that helping students learn how to learn is the
most important outcome for a high school education. This study will shed some very
important light on potential strategies for grouping students because it does discuss

Diabetic Absorbance
According to the experiment results the hypothesis was proven to be correct. The
diabetics did indeed have a higher absorbance level than the non diabetics. It was
made clear that the rate at which a diabetic digests their meal is slower than a non
diabetic. It proves that fact that without sugar, the body could not function properly
because there would not be enough glucosein the body to provide energy in order to
make ATP. Without the main ingredient to make ATP the body would die. This fact
leads to the understanding as to why people with diabetes in third world countries are
dying because they cannot get the insulinneeded in order to help their bodies make
ATP and function (Khunti).

meal value because it takes longer to break ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Also the diabetic would reach the maximum blood glucose level quicker because
they could not break down the glucose in the food as quick as the non diabetic
could. As seen in figure 1 it is clear that a person with diabetics has almost double
the absorbance level compared to the non diabetics. The data in figure 1 shows the
absorbance over time for diabetics and non diabetics. Looking deeper into the
meaning of why the absorbance is higher in the diabetic people it is known to be
because of the buildup of glucose in the bloodstream. This buildup leads to less
glucose being able to pass through and thus taking the diabetic longer to get back
to the pre meal value. The effects of T2D can lead to this buildup and cause
cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, and death. Diabetes still not be taken lightly
for this very reason. Unlike T2D patients type 1 diabetics(T1D) are at a greater risk
because their body does not produce insulin at all, thus making it harder to maintain
and regulate. T1D s are always having to check
What Is A Bad Habit Essay
Everyone has bad habits. Some people smoke, some binge eat and some might even
engage in self destructive behavior. These habits are often deeply ingrained into one
s personality, to the point of becoming the traits by which many define themselves. If
you want to change the course of your life you have to learn how to changethese bad
habits. Although it is an often long and difficult process the results will allow you to
succeed where you may have otherwise failed. The steps below can help you learn
how to identify, confront and eventually eliminate the habits that might control your
life.
Changing Your Habits
Your bad habits are often part of who you are. You might make excuses for them,
embrace them or even get a bit prickly when others bring them up. In reality
though, these are not just habits they are a failing. They might be holding you
back from achieving success in business, your social life or even love. Embracing
your bad habits means simply learning how to live with what is going wrong, but
eliminating them means that you are willing to make a positive change in your own
life. There is nothing that says that this is easy, of course, but you should be willing
to try it. After all, getting rid of your bad habits is one of the few ways that you can

To truly break yourself of a bad habit you have to learn how to make an effective
change in your life. If you fail to do so you might replace your current bad habit
with one that is just as bad. Or worse, you might even find yourself slipping back
into old habits without giving yourself a chance to change. Instead, you must
consider breaking yourself of bad habits to be a journey that will allow you to
understand not only what you are doing wrong, but also to understand why you have
made the choices that you have made. While this is not always a pleasant experience
it can help you to change your life for the

2014059013 The Transition and Opening up and Growth of the Service Sector of
China
Abstract
The objective of this paper is to show the transition of China from an economy
dominated by the manufacturing to a more stable economy dominated by services. In
recent years, many people were thinking about why the GDP (gross domestic
product) of China has drop drastically from 11% to 7%. Well, that is an intentional
cooling down that the country is doing to make the transition from industrial to
service sector also known as tertiary industry . Through many years, the industrial
sector was the one that contributed more to the GDP of the country; but now, China
is changing this to a more stable and sustainable economy by opening up its service
sector and the 12th Five Year Plan of China (2011 2015) is helping to accomplish
this task. In 2013, for the first time of the history the service sector overpass the
industrial sector in the contribution to the GDP.
Key words: Transition, Gross Domestic Product, Industrial Sector, Tertiary Industry,
and Sustainable Economy.
I.Introduction
Since 1978 when Deng Xiaoping took away the centrally planned economy and
introduced the capitalistic market reform, China has witnessed tremendous
transitions and growth. This tremendous growth lasted for 30 years. Between 1983
and 2013, the GDP of China has an annual grow of 10.2%. Also, China has

Julia Lorraine Hill Research Paper
Julia Butterfly Hill Civil Disobedience has been around for hundreds of years. This
a practice first put into play by a man by the name of Henry David Thoreau who
believed that if you didn t agree with a rule then you should act against it in a
nonviolent way, and be willing to accept any punishment that comes with it. His
teachings were followed by famous activists such as Ghandi, and Martin Luther
King Jr., and many others. Julia Lorraine Hill s life journey started on February
18th of 1974 in Mount Vernon, Minnesota (Watson). Due to her parents career as
Christian preachers, she lived on the road for the early years of her life until
settling down in Jonesboro, Arkansas, in her teens. When Julia was 22, she
suffered a near fatal car crash resulting in a head injury where the steering wheel
went into her skull (Lallanilla). Her injuries took her almost a year to recover
from. During her recovery period, she had time to reevaluate her life and decided
that there was more she needed to do with her time on Earth. As soon as she was
healthy once more she went to the road and headed out west. During her excursion,
she learned of the redwood forests of California and the threats towards them. Julia

The nation has been growing and building as the earlier parts of the essay suggest.
It had a lot of interaction and the growth brought in a lot of people from outside and
the races mixed and there were hybrids. So it is not and it never was one nation.
There were a lot of nations within that single nation and that is what made it all the
more complex. There was no single driving force and there was nothing to unite the.
No religion commonality, no language as being the same, even the origins was
different. It was bound to happen that the nation would have a split personality and it
did have that. There was a lot of dichotomy in the statements made and there was a
huge consensus as to how to eliminate the differences but this was something that
just was not possibly biologically speaking. Be it music or be it the style of
governance or even the type of architecture in the country. They all
Decay Of Decay And Decay
Introduction Isotopes are elements which have the same number of protons but
different number of neutrons and these elements have same atomic number but
different in atomic mass.because of their characteristic nature of producing
radiation and their energies. Isotopes are used in various areas like industries,
agriculture, medical field and research centers. They are decayed by emission of
energy in the form of alpha, beta (electron) beta plus (positron) and gamma rays.
(1) Types of radiation Alpha particles cannot be used for measurement from outside
the body because they are such low penetrating power. A sheet of paper stops alpha
particles. Beta particles have a modest penetrating power, thus they produce useful
results in the area of their release, and they can be distinguished by sensitive
counting tools. Block of wood stops beta particles. Gamma rays are highly
energetic, and they can be readily discovered by radiation counters used outside the
body. A thick concrete wall stops gamma rays. Radioisotopes are unnaturally
produced unstable atoms of a chemical element which have a different number of
neutrons in the nucleus, but the same number of protons and the same chemical
properties. May live for only minutes. Their existence is measured in halflives, how
long it takes for half of the isotope to disappear. (3) Radioactive products which are
used in medicine are called radiopharmaceuticals. They are different from other
medically used drugs since they
Preventing Drunk Driving
The biggest solution to me that would prevent drunk drivers from taking the wheel
is ignition interlock devices. They assist in preventing a driver from operating the
vehicle if their BAC is over 0.15% to 0.20% depending on the jurisdiction. (Driving
laws) Tricking the ID on the devices can be very difficult and unlikely, but if one is
feeling bold and tries it there will be major consequences if the person is caught. I
aim to have these automatically stored in all the new models of cars that are being
produced while also getting them installed to people cars now. The price to install
these now are one hundred dollars to install and ranges from fifty to a hundred
dollars a month for leasing. (Drivinglaws) I am positive that if we get more... Show

If the BAC is within the pre determined limit, the fuel cell triggers a relay to close
and the car will start. (Driving laws) These haven t caught on nationally, but would
be an added layer of prevention if made mandatory. My idea to make sure these
breathalyzers get installed is to make check points , at all the gas stations, car
shops, DMVs, and any other spots that cars are eventually going to have to make a
stop at. I plan to add a strike system for the ones who have not caught along to
getting the breathalyzers. Strike one with have to set a meeting with a financial
person to see if the problem is the person not having the right amount of funds. For
the people that make fewer than thirty thousand dollars, a year will have a chance
to apply to the program to get financial help. The money will come from the
systems and foundations already in place to prevent drunk driving. Strike two will
be a warning if you still have not gotten the device installed giving the individual a
certain amount of days to get it installed before the next check up. Strike three will
have to deal with the driver and their license getting suspended for not following the
rules after financial help and an extra deadline to get the device
My Philosophy Of My Personal Philosophy In The
Classroom
All students are unique individuals, who have their own way of learning. Some
students, might find it easier to learn from hands on work rather than reading
materials. Others, may be capable of learning with just reading content. Since every
student learns differently, I believe there isn t just one philosophical way of how
students should be taught. I would incorporate a couple different philosophies and
teachingmechanisms into my classroom. I also believe that the environment a child
is in impacts the way they learn. Students should have a set of rules to follow, but
also be able to express what they think and feel just as well. My personal philosophy
is that there are numerous ways to teach children the materials they need to know.
Pragmatism is one philosophical theory I will follow in my classroom. Since, this

The students will have an opportunity on the first day of class to come up with
some more they think should be followed. The rules will be as follows: Number
one, be on time for class. This will help them throughout life just as much as in the
classroom. No matter what, in life you must be on time for certain things. In a
workplace you have a schedule to follow. I believe implementing certain rules
early in life gives the opportunity for success and good work ethic. Number two will
be to complete all tasks in a timely manner. This sets them up for a good work ethic
also. If all tasks are completed on time for the whole class, I will reward them by
having a game day. Number three, no talking during tests. If students are talking
during a test, then that makes it hard to see if they need a different learning method to
catch on to the material. The class overall must follow all rules or there will be no
reward handed
The Crash Of The United States Air Force
Unfortunately, crashes and crises aren t a new things in today s world. Far too
often we have car crashes, boats sinking, car explosions, or bus crashes. Not too
often do you hear about plane crashes, however, when you do it is fatal. One truly
amazing plane crash involved two amazing pilots, birds, and one miracle landing
on the Hudson. One captain of flight 1549 was captain Chesley Sullenberger, age
of fifty eight at the time. Sullenberger was no rookie to flying he had been flying
since 15 when he enlisted in flight lessons from a local pilot in his hometown. At
the age of eighteen Sullenberger went on to become a fighter pilot for the United
States Air Force, he spent the next ten years in the air force until being asked to be
a pilot for U.S. Airways. Chesley logged a total of 20,000 hours of pilotry in his
career and spent his free time learning and teaching pilots about flight safety and
how to prepare for the worst. Chesley spent hours learning the anatomy of a plane,
as well as various crashes and famous pilots learning exactly what needed to
happen if such an occasion were to occur. Of course we all know that every crash
is different and no matter how much you study you will never be truly prepared for
such an event. Sullenberger has two daughters one of sixteen and the other of
fourteen and a wife. Thursday morning, before the crash Sullenberger woke up early,
he drove to San Francisco International Airport, he was to fly to Charlotte for a four
day flight

Response to The Good Shepherd (CIA)
The Good Shepherd is a fascinating, adult film. It is an adult film not merely
because of its high rating but because it depicts the difficult and problematic
professional and personal life of a CIA operative with an adult, realistic approach that
is rarely shown in films. In addition, The
Good Shepherd tells a compelling, complex, personal and political story and tells it
extremely well. The film utilizes familiar, but not essentially true to life,
personalities and episodes to make political points. This essay will provide a response
to the film from a political point of view.

I certainly don t know of any normal individual who could do that. One message that
echoes right through the film is that Wilson actually never trusts anybody. He is
supposedly based on an authentic CIA intelligence officer who was so paranoid and
secretive that few in the
CIA knew what he may have looked liked. Nevertheless, in the world of espionage,
where deception must often be necessary, being distrustful must be just part of the
job (Chapman and
Robert 210).
However, not all the employees of the Central Intelligence Agency resemble Edward
Wilson. At the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, all employees seem like
normal people having a normal day at their offices. Most of the workers are actually
analysts and not operatives
(Chapman and Robert 210). However, it strikes me that, if I am to assume that
Edward Wilson is a model CIA employee, The Good Shepherd may be furthering a
clichГ©.

Netball Is A Ball Sport Played By Two Teams Of Seven
Players
Netball is a ball sport played by two teams of seven players. Its development, derived
from early versions of basketball, began in England in the 1890s. By 1960,
international playing rules had been standardised for the game, and the International
Federation of Netball and Women s Basketball (later renamed the International
NetballFederation (INF)) was formed. As of 2011, the INF comprises more than 60
national teams organized into five global regions.
Games are played on a rectangular court with raised goal rings at each end. Each
team attempts to score goals by passing a ball down the court and shooting it
through its goal ring. Players are assigned specific positions, which define their
roles within the team and restrict their movement to certain areas of the court.
During general play, a player with the ball can hold on to it for only three seconds
before shooting for a goal or passing to another player. The winning team is the one
that scores the most goals. Netball games are 60 minutes long. Variations have been
developed to increase the game s pace and appeal to a wider audience.
Netball is most popular in Commonwealth nations, specifically in schools, and is
predominantly played by women. According to the INF, netball is played by more
than 20 million people in more than 80 countries.[12][13] Major transnational
competitions take place, including the Netball Superleague in Great Britain and the
ANZ Championship in Australia and New Zealand. Three major

Social Warnings in Literature
Throughout time, works of literature have often carried messages of great social
importance. It is essential to understand these significant themes and agendas in order
to understand the basis of the novels. Throughout The Prophet s Hair by Salman
Rushdie, War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells and A Clockwork Orange by Anthony
Burgess, there is much evidence supporting the idea of social or political warnings,
one could argue, about the functionality of society and those who govern said
societies. The philosophies discovered by the reader (set there purposely by the
author) provide the means to the essential bridge between reading literature and
understanding the possibilities and comprehending the literature in question.

Did you think God had exempted Weybridge? He is not an insurance agent.
(p.78) This quote from the narrator helps us try to understand where he is coming
from. Society is based on evolution, not miracles, as many religions suggest. Faith
can only go so far; and after that, one can only depend on himself, not the religious
leader he looks to. This novel also hints at how unprepared the government is in
regards to national emergencies, from natural disasters to alien encounters. And
although the chances of humans interacting with extra terrestrial creatures are slim,
it would take an awfully closed minded person to assume that Earth is the only
planet with semi intelligent organisms. There is a lot of dependence upon the state
for guidance, as well as religion. And while the state may not be perfect to the
average citizen, in times of need or trouble, they are the religious back up. H.G.
Wells is practically screaming for society to gain a sense of self rather than a sense of
spiritual acknowledgement.
The novel A Clockwork Orangeis littered with ideologies regarding social and
political messages and allegorical imagery supporting Anthony Burgess pessimistic
approach to life during his later years. The coldness of reality, the societal need for
revenge and the importance of free will all play a large role in the philosophies given
in the book. The

Most people who are are being watched have a tendency to feel uncomfortable and
will often hide their ideas, actions, and emotions. Glenn Greenwald shows why
people s behavior changes when being watched, stating, Human shame is a very
powerful motivator, as is the desire to avoid it, and that s the reason why people,
when they re in a state of being watched, make decisions that are not the byproduct of
their own agency but that are about the expectations of others have them or the
mandates of societal orthodoxy. An example of this would be when Glenn Greenwald
discusses how Jeremy Benthan created the panopticon which was a huge tower in an
institution overlooking the inmates that they couldn t see into. Because they couldn t
see into the tower they had no idea if they were being watched all the time. Glenn
Greenwald, describes Jeremy Bentham s reaction to his invention, agreeing, [that]
what made him so excited about this discovery was that that would mean that the
prisoners would have to assume they were being watched at any given moment,
which would be the ultimate enforcer of obedience and compliance. This allowed
the inmates to feel trapped, more likely to show good behavior to avoid serious
consequences, and hide their creative escape plans. People will hide their emotions
and actions from others to avoid serious consequences, intense feelings of shame, and
to avoid standing out from the social norm. Because human shame is such a powerful
emotion, it often stops people from expressing themselves so that they can help
others. Rebecca MacKinnon, an internet freedom activist, describes that without
privacy and constant surveillance by the government many people are afraid to
express themselves which hold them back from helping others, stating, The problem

Judith Ortiz s The Changling
Throughout all of history, males and females have always had certain expectations
in which they need to uphold. Both males and females are expected to act, dress,
and do certain things that the opposite sex normally would not do. If somebody
were to act as someone else of the opposite sex, society would then look down upon
that person and humiliate them for what they have done. If a man or a womandesires
to act or dress as the opposite sex, they should be able to without being humiliated
or shamed. Society has too many expectations and regulations that people have to
follow in order to fit in or be considered normal . No one should be shamed for how
they want to feel or act. What we look like on the outside does not always match who
we actually are in the inside; which is what actually truly matters. In the short... Show

What Does Coddling Supremacy Mean
Coddling Supremacy My reading of Skinner s Implications of Universalism leads
me to new findings about things I thought I I new: challenges in our beliefs as
individuals and as a Unitarian community I was surprised as I was reading the
lecture notes to learn that Kant had made racist remarks about the primitive peoples
when I previously thought Kant was the author of the Categorical Imperative by
which one wills upon themselves any maxim they would wish global. The reading
left me struggling with how he could hold both the golden rule and the racist view

Alexander the Great s Determination
After the death of King Darius III, Alexander began to introduce his Policy of
Fusion . He believed that if the two traditions (Macedonian and Persian) could be
blended and assimilated , his authority would be more securely established and
would rest on good will rather than on force, according to ancient historian Plutarch.
This tell us that Alexander did not want to destroy the Persia that Darius and his
ancestors had set up and replace it with a Macedonian ruling. Quoting Plutarch, He
understood that the sharing of race and customs is a great step towards the softening
of men s heart . Alexander knew that if he were to change Persia to a Macedonian
ruling, the Persians would not have obeyed nor trusted him. He instead opted to...

In the year 224 BC, a mass wedding was held in Susa. Alexander had arranged for
himself to marry Barsine, Darius s eldest daughter, and another one, Parysatis, the
daughter of Ochus. In addition, he gave his companions the daughters of the most
notable Medes and Persians [Arrian] summing up to 80 weddings in total, all of
which the weddings were celebrated in Persian fashion. The wedding established
Alexander as the Great King of both Macedonia and Persia as he could now claim
to be the son and heir of both previous Persian kings. It also signified the transfer of
power to the Macedonians through the marriage to leading Persian women. Much
like his successors, the children of these marriages were to be taught Greek and
trained in Macedonian customs and have the added advantage of mixed parentage.
According to J.R Hamilton, the Susa wedding brought to a climax his policy of
fusing Macadeonians and Persians into a single race . This is no doubt an example
of Alexander s strong determination of combining both traditions. However, upon
Alexander s death, all the men divorced their wives with the exception of
Hephaestion (who died eight months prior to Alexander) and Seleucus. This showed

Descriptive Essay About A Runaway Bird
The Runaway Bird
I stood there, looking in through the bars of the cage, watching the birds fly
around their enclosure. I rested my hands on one of the metal bars on the cage as I
watched my favorite bird, Sky, she was the bird I got for my 12th birthday that
year. Sky was a bird with blue feathers and white areas on its stomach that looked
like clouds. I loved to watch the birds play with each other. I was allowed to hold
them, but I was not aloud to take them out of the cage without an adult around, and
my mom was taking a nap. My mom has black curly hair and brown eyes. I stood

waiting for her to wake up. I had to say mom a couple more times before she actually
woke up. Once she finally woke up I told her I opened the bird cage and one of the
birds got out. Her sleepy eyes began to widen, she brushed the tangled black hair
out of her face, and she stood up without saying a word and she walked to the room
with all the birds. She walked in and saw the bird flying around the room. This is
why you can t open the cage! she yelled. I m sorry mom, I said. After a while she
caught the bird and put it in its cage. Needless to say she was mad at me.
Looking back on that day now I feel like I shouldn t have done that, and if I could go
back I wouldn t open that cage. I not only was panicking, but I was scared how
much trouble I was going to get in. I was never allowed in that room alone
Drosophil The Evolution Of The Human Genome Project
The Human Genome project was ultimately introduced in 1985 and by the early 1990
s the project began to spread. The collaboration of multiple countries such as, Great
Britain, France, Japan, China, and Germany joined the United States in working to
complete the project in a minimum of 3 years. Laboratories in these countries
mapped and sequenced the project that is known as the Human Genome. All of the
genes in a person s body is called a Genome, therefore the name of the project the
Human Genome Project. Scientist found that the Human Genome structure displays
information on structure, organization, and function of a complete Human Genome.

The idea of Drosophila came from both Alfred and Thomas once they realized that
the Drosophila can be a useful source to the Human Genome Project because of it s
large chromosomes, and the acceleration in it s reproduction. Scientist also realized
that they could use other species; mice, fruit flies, and flatworms because these
were all species with similar genes and functions. The Research of Drosophila led
to the theory of heredity, which with this research lead to the development of the
chromosome theory, that presented the connection of genes through chromosomes.
Doing this Alfred and Thomas were able to build the first genetic map of
chromosomes. There Is an estimation of 20,000 30,000 human genes that were
involved in the project, out of that a discovery of 99.9 percent of everyone s DNA
was corresponding. Scientist took gathered samples of opposite ethnic groups all
around the world from the countries who participated in the Human Genome Project.
Approximately 700 different ethnic groups were targeted by scientist to donate.
Alfred and Thomas collaborated with Anthropologist and other geneticist to build a
better understanding of how opposite ethnic groups are linked. Sadly of the
thousands of samples collected they were of little use because of the different
laboratories across the world. Scientist believed in two important key facts in
understanding the Human Genome which were; follow the different migrations of
opposite ethnic groups to trace if these groups are corresponding, trace a Family
Tree of the populace, and last to analyze the genes which will lead to mutations and
diseases. Scientist realized that necessary precautions needed to be too be taken to
collect samples from ethnic groups going extinct, but decided to not voice the
extinction of those disappearing ethnic groups to not

Discuss James representations of places for women in his novels.
There is an impressive range of female characters in Henry James fiction. Drawn to
the world of wealth and leisure as a subject, a world which was at the same time,
ironically the context for his own hermetic labours as a writer, James perhaps
inevitably came to concentrate on the feminine. Correspondingly, most of his male

The theme so early recognised as particularly James own was the international one,
and the expression of this theme pivoted around the figure of the American girl.
The critic W.D. Howells (1958 P.63) credited James with being the inventor of the
International American girl . The American girl, as she appears in James early
stories and novels is independent, moral, free, innocent, and her attractiveness is
either delicate or of a pale and rather asexual kind. In her less refined or serious form,
she may be ignorant, brash or simply naГЇve. She is, of course, as always unmarried.
In using the American girl as central to his exploration of the interaction of American
and European society, it was not at first in the girl herself that James placed the
distinguished American moral consciousness, and when she was endowed

with moral seriousness the conscious response to its clash with social convention
was again, in the early work, usually located in a male onlooker. Her self
consciousness according to Habegger (1960, P.67) developed out of a line of
American girls who were absorbed by Europe, withdrew from it, or were destroyed
by it, and this is the reason
Relationships In Life Of Pi And The Lives Of Animals
Explore the relationship between humans and animals in Life of Pi and The Lives of
Animals
Introduction
According to Martin Heidegger (2000), anthropocentrism functions as a dogmatic
paradigm in which all aspects of the natural world are related to human beings. In this
view, humanity is at the centre of all subsequent theoretical assumptions, creating a
metanarrative that supports an entire system of thought. This way of understanding
the world, however, is incompatible with the postmodern approach and its tendency to
deconstruct apparent certainties, hierarchical divisions, and man s superiority and
intellect. Consequently, embedded in ecocriticism, a postmodern understanding of
the relationship between humans and animals is one of the most crucial challenges
to traditional Western conceptions of man as a sovereign being. This essay is going
to discuss this shift from a philosophy of a shared human essence to a more
fragmented theoretical model, arguing that human and ... Show more content on

Opposing to professor O Hearne s philosophical belief that a process of creating
abstract models separates animals from intelligent humans (The Lives of Animals:
62), and criticising experiments in which animals fail to exemplify human like
behaviour, Costello compares this dogmatism of reason to what Agamben (2004)
terms the anthropological machine. It is only within this ideological system of
oppression that man is godlike, animals thinglike (The Lives of Animals: 23), and
therefore he can do anything [to animals] and get away with it (The Lives of
Animals: 35). This assumption, she claims, is only legitimate within the essentialist
paradigm; outside of it, reason is only one tendency in human thought that propagates
animal degradation and suffering (The Lives of Animals:

Social Justice Essay

  • 1. Social Justice Essay Writing an essay on the topic of social justice can be both challenging and intellectually rewarding. The complexity of the subject requires a comprehensive understanding of various social, economic, and political factors that contribute to the ongoing discourse on justice and equality. Crafting a thoughtful and well-researched essay entails delving into historical contexts, examining systemic inequalities, and analyzing the impact of policies and movements. One of the difficulties lies in navigating the diverse perspectives and theories surrounding social justice, which may include but are not limited to feminist theories, critical race theory, and economic justice frameworks. Ensuring that the essay remains balanced and fair while addressing the multifaceted nature of the topic is crucial. Additionally, the writer must grapple with the evolving nature of social justice issues, staying abreast of current events and ongoing debates to provide relevant and up-to-date information. Furthermore, expressing one's ideas coherently and persuasively is a challenge, as social justice is a sensitive and often emotionally charged subject. Striking the right tone, avoiding biases, and maintaining a respectful and inclusive approach are essential aspects of successfully conveying the message to a diverse audience. In conclusion, writing a social justice essay demands a nuanced understanding of the topic, an ability to synthesize complex information, and effective communication skills. It requires dedication to research, critical thinking, and an awareness of the evolving nature of social issues. While challenging, the process of exploring and articulating one's thoughts on social justice can be a valuable exercise in fostering a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding justice and equality in society. A Short Note On Co Operative Collision Warning Co operative Collision Warning by using Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) Communication Ankita Khapekar Electronics and Telecommunications RMDSSOE Pune, India ankitakhapekar@gmail.com Rajesh Shekokar Electronics and Telecommunications RMDSSOE Pune, India rajesh.shekokar@sinhgad.edu Abstract Road accidents cause a severe threat to human lives from both an injury as well as a financial perspective. Given that vehicles are designed to provide a smooth means of transportation, manufacturers have long been in the process of designing the vehicles that are based on principles of efficiency, reliability and safety. However, due to reasons such as human error, circumstantial error, poor vision and negligence, accidents occur. Today, special attention is focused on the technologies that can reduce traffic collisions. Hence, Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) technology is proposed which are simple to implement. The main objective of this paper is to alert the driver when he closes to the front vehicle by using camera and ultrasonic sensor and to communicate mutually for information exchange by using Xbee. Keywords Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) communication, SURF algorithm, Raspberry Pi, Open CV I.INTRODUCTION In India, the percentage of killing of people by accidents is far more than those by diseases. A survey said that approximately 45% of people are died due to road accidents. [1,2] Nowadays, life style has become very fast and busy. People are always in hurry. An unlucky event such as road
  • 3. Principles Of The Immaculate Conception Immaculate Conception Raphaella Henson Vendrell Ms.O Connor P5 Orange I have upheld the intent and principles of the Paul VI Academic Honor Code while completing this assignment. The Immaculate Conception is Mary s birth without stain of original sin. The word Immaculate itself means without stain . Mary was protected by God s grace. From the moment she was born, she was in a state of sanctifying grace and free from the corrupt effects from original sin. The angel Gabriel said Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you (Luke 1:28). This meaning that Mary was born with the gifts of grace by God. She is also preserved by original sin and the Lord is guiding her and she is protected by God. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Father blessed Mary more than anyone else he has created. He chose Mary to be the basis of the world and to be holy and not blamed for the faults of the world. The splendor of an entirely unique holiness by which Mary is enriched from the first instant of her conception comes wholly from Christ. She is redeemed, in a more exalted fashion, by reason of the merits of her Son (CCC,492). This meaning that Mary was saved in superior fashion and it was because she was going to be the mother of our savior Jesus Christ. Mary is also filled with holiness which she first was blessed with from God when she was born. The Blessed Virgin Marywas the second person to be created and born immaculate. Eve was the first person

Reconciling Religious and Scientific Perspectives of Creation In the beginning was the big bang, [i] writes John Polkinghorne, a physicist turned theologian. As the reader follows through the remainder of his cosmic creation story, the reader is intrigued at how mystical and religious the story sounds. The space boiled, in the rapid expansion of the inflation era, blowing the universe apart with incredible rapidity in the much less than 10 30 seconds that it lasted. . . . The world suddenly became transparent and a universal sea of radiation was left to continue cooling on its own . . . He has scaled the mountains of ignorance, he is about to conquer the highest peak: as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries. [v] Though Jastrow treats the issue as settled and declares that scientists have finally been defeated, it is too early to reach any judgements on the implications the new cosmology has for both science and religion. Our image of the origin of the universe is not yet complete and further investigations must be conducted before the towel is thrown in. Science has still much to offer to help us understand how the universe came to be. Therefore, let us now attempt to solve the cosmic mystery of creation by referring to the great scientific minds as our guide. Let us now rewind the story of the big bang and look into the origins of the universe. The idea that the universe had an origin was a result of the discovery of the expansionary universe.[vi] The theoretical groundwork for the expansionary universe theory was conceived, ironically, by Albert Einstein (a firm believer in the infinite and unchanging universe) in his work concerning relativity.[vii] The expansionary universe theory was later confirmed by Edwin Hubble in the 1920 s when he showed through careful observation of the

While they were walking there, a tall man dressed in all black approached Leah. He whispered, Go to the art gallery and find the key near HM, then go to Skylar s backyard and open up the locked box in the shed. Then the man walked away. Leah told Skylar what the man said, and then they went to the cafГ©. Over at the cafГ©, the two friends were discussing what HM could be. They thought it could stand for horn man or hi miss, but then they thought it through and realized that it was happy man. This made sense since just one hour earlier at home, Skylar and Leah were talking about the happy man
  • 7. Vladimir Lenin And The Russian Revolution Vladimir Lenin was the leader of the Russian revolution. Lenin s reason for writing State and Revolution was to explain his view on Karl Marx s reasoning for a state and views on what the proletariat, working class, should do during a revolution. The goal of a revolution such as this, a communist revolution, is to give the power to the working people, which is to say that Lenin, similar to Castro and Nkrumah, wants to be free from imperialism. Another is to Lenin s view on revolution is that it can only be achieved through nationality and unity.(Lenin, State and Revolution, page 22) The overthrow of bourgeois rule can be accomplished only by the proletariat, as the particular class, which, by the economic conditions of its existence, is being prepared for this work and is provided both with the opportunity and the power to perform it. (Lenin 23) He believes that a revolution can only succeed with the use of violence from the proletariat against the party that is in control.(Lenin, 22 23) The replacement of the bourgeois by the proletarian state is impossible without a violent revolution. (Lenin, 22) As a leader Lenin is an advocate of change. He is a communist and believes in giving power to the people, mainly the proletariat.(Lenin 20) Kwame Nkrumah, was the leader of Ghana first as Prime Minister then as President once they gained independence from Great Britain. Nkrumah wrote I speak of freedom: A statement of African Ideology in part because he

So it follows that I conclude it is also important to recognize that a leader must set the standard by which they wish to lead. Therefore, if the United States fails, the free world fails. Likewise, when any single piece of free world fails, then by extension, it can be reasoned that the United States has failed in its leadership. When I say the United States is ill prepared for cyberwarfare, I am not only speaking solely to attack directly against our nation alone. I am also referring to our standing as leader of the free world, which no doubt is weakened any time one piece of the free world is weakened or vulnerable to threat exposure. By using the term ill prepared, I aim to convey that the United States is not equipped with enough protection to prevent every possible instance of the threat of cyberwarfare from occurring. I propose we are not where our nation should be in terms of dealing with all actual occurrences of the threat of cyberwarfare, were it to be fully realized. This can be carried over into our response capability to any such attack, which may manifest in many forms. For example, our response against perpetrators and those who aid or comfort

Gang Member by Sanyika Shakur Kody Scott grew up in South Central L.A. during the nineteen sixties and seventies, soon after the creation of the Crips. Raised in poverty without a father, and a full family raised solely by his mother, Kody Scott led the stereotypical ghetto life, a poor and broken home. However he does not blame this on his own personal decision to join the Crips while only eleven year s old. The allure of the respect and glory that bangers got, along with the unity of the set (name for the specific gang) is what drew him into the gang. Once joined, he vowed to stay in the set for life, and claimed that banging was his life. After many years of still believing this, he eventually realized that the ... However this was no easy task, as most who attempt to leave the set don t succeed or die trying. It took him a whole three years to leave the Crips. He now, however, unlike before, realized that a banging was wrong for more than just the black on black crime and such, but that it was a matter of morals and family, and he now no longer took pride in his past actions, but still took responsibility for them(page 357). Once out of prison again, he was now out of the set and could start a more normal life with his family and with a real paying job. He was still however part of the New Afrikan Independence Movement, and also devoted to stopping the causes of gangsterism(page 377). This complete turnaround in his life and new devotion, is the purpose of the book he wrote. At the start of the book he tells of how he joined the gang and why. He also tells of all of his glory stories and how much he enjoyed banging. However as the book slowly progresses, he starts to mature and to develop mentally. Until toward the end of the book, in

  • 22. Sample Of Contract Law Reflection Reflection 1 The principle of contract law Sir George is referring to, is Freedom of Contract; it is that any party can make a legally binding agreement based on mutual agreement and free of choice with no government interference. The two basic principles are that they can enter into a contract with whomever they like and they can agree on whatever terms and conditions they like. In 1875, when this statement was made public policy was not discussed often and thus it was not the major part of debates between the Executives and the Legislatures. Now, there are many laws which promote public policy and any contract established between parties must abide by it. For example, if you enter into a contract with somebody to work at a wage lower than the minimum wage it would be against public policy. Sir George stated that the utmost necessity in the formation of contract should be the freedom to contract, over public policy. If an Australian High Court judge said something similar today, it would be against the law, as earlier freedom of contract was unrestricted; earlier referring to the views of Sir George. He believed that freedom to contract was the principle of any contract as very few people discussed public policy at that time, unlike today where judges are supposed to understand the concept of public policy. Reflection 2 The binding elements of a contract are offer and acceptance. Offer is an expression of willingness to contract. Say if someone asked if they can buy your

The hurricane that hit Jacksonville town in Florida crippled the city s infrastructure. The destroyed power and telephone lines stopped all the communication and transportation systems in the city. The copper wires were left hanging precariously along the charred roads. Looters took the opportunity to steal the expensive copper wires and motorists drove around carelessly as all the traffic lights had gone off. The local government experienced difficulties in trying to contain the situation. The task to locate, triage and secure citizens were nearly impossible as the whole town was in chaos. The local authorities could have coordinated with various Homeland security agencies to restore normalcy. The Coordinated Responses and Key Resources office of the president has come up with three main strategies to respond to disasters and protect the critical infrastructure in the USA. The President has charged the National Strategy for Homeland Security (NSHS) with the responsibility to address the vulnerabilities that involve more than one sector or needs the responsiveness of more than one agency. The advanced strategy calls for interconnectivity and complementarity of homeland security systems. The second approach involves the National Strategy for the Physical Protection of Critical Infrastructures, and Key Assets (NSPPCIKA) identifies

The findings show that effective help seekers ask precise questions, persist in seeking help, and apply the explanations received; effective help givers provide detailed explanations of the material as well as opportunities for help recipients to apply the help received, and monitor student understanding. It was made clear that the rate at which a diabetic digests their meal is slower than a non diabetic. It proves that fact that without sugar, the body could not function properly because there would not be enough glucosein the body to provide energy in order to make ATP. Without the main ingredient to make ATP the body would die. This fact leads to the understanding as to why people with diabetes in third world countries are dying because they cannot get the insulinneeded in order to help their bodies make ATP and function (Khunti). The data in figure 1 shows the absorbance over time for diabetics and non diabetics. Looking deeper into the meaning of why the absorbance is higher in the diabetic people it is known to be because of the buildup of glucose in the bloodstream. This buildup leads to less glucose being able to pass through and thus taking the diabetic longer to get back to the pre meal value. The effects of T2D can lead to this buildup and cause cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, and death. Diabetes still not be taken lightly for this very reason. Group A Studies on China Economy Victor Alberto Han Zou 2014059013 The Transition and Opening up and Growth of the Service Sector of China Abstract The objective of this paper is to show the transition of China from an economy dominated by the manufacturing to a more stable economy dominated by services. In recent years, many people were thinking about why the GDP (gross domestic product) of China has drop drastically from 11% to 7%. Well, that is an intentional cooling down that the country is doing to make the transition from industrial to service sector also known as tertiary industry . Through many years, the industrial sector was the one that contributed more to the GDP of the country; but now, China is changing this to a more stable and sustainable economy by opening up its service sector and the 12th Five Year Plan of China (2011 2015) is helping to accomplish this task. In 2013, for the first time of the history the service sector overpass the industrial sector in the contribution to the GDP. Key words: Transition, Gross Domestic Product, Industrial Sector, Tertiary Industry, and Sustainable Economy. They are decayed by emission of energy in the form of alpha, beta (electron) beta plus (positron) and gamma rays. As of 2011, the INF comprises more than 60 national teams organized into five global regions. Games are played on a rectangular court with raised goal rings at each end. Each team attempts to score goals by passing a ball down the court and shooting it through its goal ring. Players are assigned specific positions, which define their roles within the team and restrict their movement to certain areas of the court. During general play, a player with the ball can hold on to it for only three seconds before shooting for a goal or passing to another player. The winning team is the one that scores the most goals. Netball games are 60 minutes long. Variations have been developed to increase the game s pace and appeal to a wider audience. Netball is most popular in Commonwealth nations, specifically in schools, and is predominantly played by women. According to the INF, netball is played by more than 20 million people in more than 80 countries.[12][13] Major transnational competitions take place, including the Netball Superleague in Great Britain and the ANZ Championship in Australia and New Zealand. It is essential to understand these significant themes and agendas in order to understand the basis of the novels. Throughout The Prophet s Hair by Salman Rushdie, War of the Worlds by H.G. This novel also hints at how unprepared the government is in regards to national emergencies, from natural disasters to alien encounters. And although the chances of humans interacting with extra terrestrial creatures are slim, it would take an awfully closed minded person to assume that Earth is the only planet with semi intelligent organisms. There is a lot of dependence upon the state for guidance, as well as religion. The novel A Clockwork Orangeis littered with ideologies regarding social and political messages and allegorical imagery supporting Anthony Burgess pessimistic approach to life during his later years. The coldness of reality, the societal need for revenge and the importance of free will all play a large role in the philosophies given in the book. The

Glenn Greenwald shows why people s behavior changes when being watched, stating, Human shame is a very powerful motivator, as is the desire to avoid it, and that s the reason why people, when they re in a state of being watched, make decisions that are not the byproduct of their own agency but that are about the expectations of others have them or the mandates of societal orthodoxy. An example of this would be when Glenn Greenwald discusses how Jeremy Benthan created the panopticon which was a huge tower in an institution overlooking the inmates that they couldn t see into. Because they couldn t see into the tower they had no idea if they were being watched all the time. Glenn Greenwald, describes Jeremy Bentham s reaction to his invention, agreeing, [that] what made him so excited about this discovery was that that would mean that the prisoners would have to assume they were being watched at any given moment, which would be the ultimate enforcer of obedience and compliance. This allowed the inmates to feel trapped, more likely to show good behavior to avoid serious consequences, and hide their creative escape plans. People will hide their emotions and actions from others to avoid serious consequences, intense feelings of shame, and to avoid standing out from the social norm. Because human shame is such a powerful emotion, it often stops people from expressing themselves so that they can help others. Rebecca MacKinnon, an internet freedom activist, describes that without privacy and constant surveillance by the government many people are afraid to express themselves which hold them back from helping others, stating, The problem is, that all of this

The idea of Drosophila came from both Alfred and Thomas once they realized that the Drosophila can be a useful source to the Human Genome Project because of it s large chromosomes, and the acceleration in it s reproduction. Scientist also realized that they could use other species; mice, fruit flies, and flatworms because these were all species with similar genes and functions. The Research of Drosophila led to the theory of heredity, which with this research lead to the development of the chromosome theory, that presented the connection of genes through chromosomes. Doing this Alfred and Thomas were able to build the first genetic map of chromosomes. There Is an estimation of 20,000 30,000 human genes that were involved in the project, out of that a discovery of 99.9 percent of everyone s DNA was corresponding. Scientist took gathered samples of opposite ethnic groups all around the world from the countries who participated in the Human Genome Project. Relationships In Life Of Pi And The Lives Of Animals Explore the relationship between humans and animals in Life of Pi and The Lives of Animals Introduction According to Martin Heidegger (2000), anthropocentrism functions as a dogmatic paradigm in which all aspects of the natural world are related to human beings. In this view, humanity is at the centre of all subsequent theoretical assumptions, creating a metanarrative that supports an entire system of thought. This way of understanding the world, however, is incompatible with the postmodern approach and its tendency to deconstruct apparent certainties, hierarchical divisions, and man s superiority and intellect. Consequently, embedded in ecocriticism, a postmodern understanding of the relationship between humans and animals is one of the most crucial challenges to traditional Western conceptions of man as a sovereign being. It is only within this ideological system of oppression that man is godlike, animals thinglike (The Lives of Animals: 23), and therefore he can do anything [to animals] and get away with it (The Lives of Animals: 35).
