you have probably experienced; it is an experience where a person, thinking they are
alone, engages in some expressive behavior, such as dancing or singing, only to
discover that they are not alone, that there is someone watching them. This discovery
often causes them to immediately stop what they are doing and recoil in shame and
embarrassment, the sense of privacy that allowed them to express themselves gone.
Similarly, when Edward Snowden exposed how the government has turned the
Internet, once known as a revolutionary tool for self expression and freedom, into a
tool for mass surveillance, Internet users recoiled in horror because they realized
that their sense of privacy was completely false much like the people in those
videos. Why is privacy so important to us? The desire for privacy is ingrained into
our minds and when we do not have privacy our behavior is vastly different. Think

discuss the use of Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and Discrete wavelet
transformation (DWT) based Image compression Algorithmand compare the
efficiency of both methods. We do the numerical experiment by considering various
types of images and by applying DCT and DWT SPIHT to compress an image. We
found that DWT yields better result as compared to DCT.

Music affects people in various ways. Ones reaction to music differs from person
to person. It can evoke emotions of both joy and happiness. Music can stir up old
memories of different times, places, and people. In the U.S. a major part of life is
music, as stated by Natalie Guice Adams and Pamela J. Bettis, American institution
that can tell us something about ourselves, like jazz, baseball, and cheerleading,
are also not static but being created anew with each generation. (Remix 240.) One

Henry Louis Gates admiration and following of great civil rights movement leaders,
including his mother, seems to show that he has an optimistic position on history and
social change in his book Colored People . Throughout the beginning chapters he is
shown growing up noticing the contract between his mother s view and the rest of the
Colemans. She would stand up to white people. He admired her spark and vitality,
whished to grow up in a world where he can see his mother treated with the respect
she deserves. Freedom from the chains of segregation was his goal, most notably
his adventures during his college years. He was dating a white girl and was also
going to extreme lengths to make sure Piedmont becomes unsegregated. Growing up
he sees the flame within his mother diminishing. This occurrence doesn t phase his

Am I a better teacher after working in the classrooms at BSES and KES?
Absolutely. Before student this experience, my teaching strategies were limited to
book knowledge and my experiences of teaching dance and theatre for the past five
years. Working within the school setting, I learned the importance in being flexible.
Each time I entered a school, I generally knew what age student I would be teaching,
the progression of skill I planned to teach them, and how much time I had to
complete my lesson plan. What I did not know was how many students I would be
managing, if my students could speak English, what level of physical competency
my students had mastered, or if I would be dealing with any physical or mental
impairments. I learned to think quickly on my feet and to adapt to the class size;
for instance, on my last day of teaching, I had prepared a lesson around using
scoops, because I thought my students already knew how to use them. When I found
out they did not know how to use them, I adapted, by changing from the games I had

memories. Through memory work children are able to retell their stories and the
stories of others, and are able to create new stories or recall memories through

The fire goes out in chapter eight, the same chapter when Jack leaves the group to
form his own tribe. By loosing fire, they lost hope and unity, because Jack leaves
and many kids go with him. The fire is stolen from Ralph s group by Jack.
The use of fire is forgotten in chapter ten, The Shell and the Glasses . With Simon
dead, Ralph and Samneric can t remember the use of fire anymore, and they doubt its
effectiveness. Piggy reminds them that the smoke produces hope, hope to be rescued

In the end of the novel, fire turns to a weapon that burns and destroys anything it
touches. Jack sets the whole island on fire to kill Ralph. Fire, starting as a symbol of
hope, knowledge and civilization, changes to a tribal weapon for destruction,
uncontrollable; and switches once again to hope, when the sailor rescues the kids.
The conch, found by Piggy, retrieved by Ralph, and hold by Piggy, is a symbol of
democracy, civilization and reunion. Ralph blows it at the beginning of the book, and
all the kids that survived the accident ran towards the sound and were reunited.
The conch represents democracy, since chapter two till chapter eleven, when it is
destroyed with Piggy.
Wherever Piggy goes, he takes the conch with him, ...the talisman, the fragile, shining

Over the summer I was opened up to a new and adventurous side of literature.
From a plane crash and savagery, to racial issues, to child suffrage it really
widened my view on life s hardships. Reading Ellen Foster, Lord of the Flies, and
To Kill a Mockingbird really stretched my imagination. Each book had there own
twists and turns, but I believe they all linked in amazing ways. One way all three
novels connected in my opinion, would be how tenacious kids are when they have to
overcome adversity.
In Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, there is a plane crash which abandones a
large amount of little boys with no adults on an island stranded with no food, water,
or shelter easily accessible. The boys struggle to survive through the whole book and
end up turning on each other because of a disagreement of what is more important, a
signal fire or hunting. A quote from this book reads, Killthe pig! Cut his throat! Kill
the pig! Bash him in! (Golding page. 104). This quote displays what Jack believes
is the right path of the boys surviving on the island, hunting. Ralph on the other
hand, had a different approach of obtaining order. This quote explains just that, We

Introduction of the electricity sector in Spain:
To liberalize a series of activities of the energy sector and to open this sector to the
competition begin with the approval, in the scope of the European Union, of the
Directive for the establishment of the Inner Market of the Electricity (96/92/CE).
This Directive has been transposed to the regulation in Spain of the Law of the
Electrical Sector of November, 1997.
To open the market and the introduction of the competition has as a main objective,
the continuity of the supplying and its quality as well as the smaller possible cost.
The National Commission of Energy was created as a controller entity of the energy
systems and to look after by the competition between the different energy systems.
The new regulating frame suppresses the consideration of the public service for the
electricity although the electrical energy happens to consider itself like indispensable
for the operation of the society.
