This document discusses how the media product represents different social groups. Firstly, items featured on the cover like chains would appeal to higher social classes familiar with such accessories. Designer clothing and hairstyles on the contents page could appeal to both higher and lower classes for different reasons. The main image of someone in a hoodie appeals more to lower/middle classes who may hide their faces due to low social status. The hip hop genre discusses lavish lifestyles appealing to upper classes, and hard upbringings appealing to lower/middle classes who want inspiration. The target age group of 13-25 is youthful and used to various backgrounds. Both genders are aimed for through featuring hip hop appealing to both.

This is the first evaluation question I am required to answer as part of my A2 Media Studies coursework. This answer looks at the ways my media products (magazine cover, film poster and film trailer) resemble real products out there
Previously I uploaded a document showcasing the primary research I carried out to find my target audience. The overall project is to shoot a film trailer in groups (we chose to do a kidnapping thriller)
For my A2 Media Studies course, I have been asked to produce a film trailer in groups. We have chosen to do a kidnapping thriller and one of the research and planning tasks is to produce a survey to find out our target audience.
Here is a trailer analysis on the film Prisoners. This is part of my A2 Media Studies coursework and the main project is to film a trailer in small groups. We have chosen to do a kidnapping thriller

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

1. 2) How does your media product represent particular social groups?
There a number of ways in which I have aimed to represent my audience of different social groups
towards reading my magazine. These include a variety of micro-features and other factors such as
genre.
Firstly, the use of a chain as a prop on the front cover’s artist would be representative of the higher
class people as they would be the type of audience that would be familiar with wearing these sorts of
accessories. They would then aspire to be like these hip hop artists and so they would be want to
impersonate them and therefore would want to read on.
The contents page features an artist who is looking off in the distance. He is wearing a snapback the
wrong way round giving off a laid back, arrogant feel to the page. He is also wearing some form of
designer clothing and jeans and a chain. He also has a rather distinctive hairstyle with two lines
shaved, again showing arrogance and a sense of being ‘cool’. Certain aspects of this would appeal to
different social groups. The use of a chain and designer clothing would appeal to the higher class
group however it could also appeal to lower class people as they tend to wear urban/designer clothing
as well to come across as more dominant and try and fit in with the crowd. For example, they would
tend to wear a lot of old school/vintage designer clothing such as Adidas and Nike. The fact that he is
looking off in the distance gives off a very majestic look and also of a man who is successful as he
looks like he’s content and contemplating which you often see with rich successful celebrities. This
would then mostly attract those of higher class as they would be aware of this particular type of body
language. The hairstyle would appeal to the lower/middle class as they would be into enhancing their
image in order to elevate their status amongst their peers and society in general. Higher/upper class
people tend to have smart, professional hairstyles so they wouldn’t be too into having these trendy
hairstyles and caps. They prefer to invest in expensive and tailored clothing, giving off a look of
professionalism and wealth.
The main image on the double page spread is where the focus of the audience is centred. Similarly to
the contents page, it is significant towards the lower/middle class as they would be associated more
than higher class people with wearing hoodies and having the hood on so that it fully covers the face.
This is done because particularly lower class people hide their faces as they do not want to be seen
due to the fact they are seen as having a low status.
The hip hop genre on the whole would appeal to different audiences but particular ones would be
targeted for various aspects of the genre. Many artists reflect their lavish lifestyles in their songs so
this would be attractive to the upper class people as they would be able to relate to this standard of
living. On the other hand, there are also a large number of artists whose songs talk about their tough
upbringings and hardships. This would then inevitably appeal to the lower/middle class people and
they would be eager to read on and find out about how these artists managed to successfully turn
their lives around, hopefully inspiring them.
I am aiming my magazine at those aged 13-25 which is a very youthful audience and they would be
used to being part of different backgrounds as many of their parents would have migrated from
various countries and continents so I feel that my magazine would be representative of all these
various audiences.
In terms of gender, I started with the intention of aiming my magazine at both sexes and I feel that I
have managed to achieve this as through my survey and feedback carried out, I found that both
genders listen to the hip hop genre. Most would believe that there is a small minority of girls/women
who listen to and enjoy the genre very much and so I have attempted to not single anyone out with
my media product.
