Over 14 years, Andreas Ebert has participated in many projects and discussions advising stakeholders in business, government, and academia in the EU. The topics ranged from the impact of open source, intellectual property rights, national interoperability frameworks, standardization strategies, productivity dimensions, digital transformation, economics of hyperscale cloud computing, economics of compliancy, options for risk modeling, evolution of artificial intelligence, ethics and machine learning, and the socio-economic impact of technology on society. Andreas lives in Vienna with his wife and two children and has worked for Microsoft for 27 years in various roles including building the consulting organization in Austria and leading the enterprise sales unit and Austrian subsidiary.
The document discusses the benefits of remote work and cloud computing. It notes that remote work was already becoming more common before the COVID-19 pandemic, with over 1.5 million people in the UK working remotely in 2019. The pandemic accelerated the trend, proving that productivity does not necessarily decrease when working from home. Cloud computing has enabled more companies, especially tech giants, to implement remote work policies. Remote work offers cost savings for businesses from reduced office space needs and allows employees more flexibility. However, companies must implement appropriate cloud-based solutions to enable secure and productive remote work. The document then profiles 10 cloud computing companies that can help organizations effectively transition to remote work.
Three Ways AI May Replace Humans in the Near FutureVish Nandlall
Three ways AI may replace humans in the near future are:
1) Cloud computing, AI, and machine learning technologies will automate many IT jobs focused on repetitive tasks, occupying over 20 million IT jobs by the mid-2020s.

IBM's Watson demonstrated early contextual computing capabilities by connecting information it had learned to draw context from the data and increase the available information 10-fold, despite having no internet access. Contextual computing replicates how humans understand complex scenarios by considering multiple perspectives and influences. The rise of smart devices that aggregate personal data provides an opportunity to apply individual context more broadly. Contextual computing will be important for enterprises to make sense of large and complex data in a similar holistic manner.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

A tale of scale & speed: How the US Navy is enabling software delivery from l...sonjaschweigert1
Rapid and secure feature delivery is a goal across every application team and every branch of the DoD. The Navy’s DevSecOps platform, Party Barge, has achieved:
- Reduction in onboarding time from 5 weeks to 1 day
- Improved developer experience and productivity through actionable findings and reduction of false positives
- Maintenance of superior security standards and inherent policy enforcement with Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Development teams can ship efficiently and ensure applications are cyber ready for Navy Authorizing Officials (AOs). In this webinar, Sigma Defense and Anchore will give attendees a look behind the scenes and demo secure pipeline automation and security artifacts that speed up application ATO and time to production.
We will cover:
- How to remove silos in DevSecOps
- How to build efficient development pipeline roles and component templates
- How to deliver security artifacts that matter for ATO’s (SBOMs, vulnerability reports, and policy evidence)
- How to streamline operations with automated policy checks on container images

Cloud
Name : A.S.Mithun Chakravathy.
E-mail : mithun19930@gmail.com.
Twitter Id : @Mithun_Starz.
College : St.Peter’s College of
Engineering and Technology.
Year/Semester : Final year/8th semester.
Branch : Information Technology.
2. Introduction
SMAC is also known as Social, Mobile, Analytics, Cloud and many call it as fifth
era of corporate IT.
After the main frame era, mini-computing era, personal computer era and
client-server era new era is found known as SMAC.
The key changes over time throughout all the evolution, has been the exponentially
increasing processing power of computers.
It also increased study growth in the number of computing device, applications and
users.
The real promise of SMAC technologies is not necessarily their individual
contributions or their cost saving and process efficiencies for IT.
SMAC has potential to support the continued digitization and automation of
business models and processes.
3. Contd…
Because of SMAC we are moving into new “digital industrial revolution”.
In next few years three emerging market forces, whose effects are already being felt
across all industries and geo graphics, impacting not only the nature of IT, but also
the nature of how we conduct business itself.
The IT department of future will need to address these market forces by leveraging
an array of emerging and disruptive technologies, including SMAC architecture, to
support their business opportunities in the most efficient manner.
Nowadays customers and employees are expecting style of commerce, content and
collaboration that’s social, mobile, analytics, cloud enabled.
They are looking for same anytime, anywhere, and any device convenience that
they are familiar with in their Facebook.
4. Trends
In SMAC era, next generation of business applications needs to embrace this same
approach to enhance the end user experience and maximize convenience and
productivity.
SMAC is not only about mobile device management, mobile application , mobile
application management and social platforms in silos but also integrate these
capabilities into a seamless user experience.
In SMAC era, the role of the CIO within many organizations is now changing.
It’s moving from that of an “engineer”, operating IT as the engine room, to that of
a “pioneer” helping the C-Suite make IT an actual part of the business.
In many cases, industrial-age business models and processes are being torn-down
into their component activities, or “units of work”, and completely re-designed from
the ground up in the new digital context.
5. Contd…
In the SMAC era, IT departments will need to provide an information
infrastructure layer capable of not only processing vast amounts of data streaming
into the enterprise in real-time, but also capable of learning from this information
and making intelligent decisions.
We can think of this as an “intelligent management and operations” capability
within their enterprise architecture. To give a sense of the growing importance of
this trend, by 2017, 10% of computers will be learning rather than processing.
The table below shows the rough magnitude of these changes across the various
computing eras – dates and numbers are approximate just to give a sense of the
order of magnitude.
7. Interest Areas
I am very much interested in cyber security frameworks and architectures used
as security parameters for SMAC.
I intend to work on cyber security framework and architectures to strengthen the
security of SMAC .
