The SLN eLearning project aimed to promote lifelong learning in Sussex, England using online resources. The Open University participated by providing eLearning experts to help develop online content and training events. They used OpenLearn, the OU's open educational resource platform, to create learning materials, host discussions, and share project resources. Through workshops and online spaces on OpenLearn and other sites, the team explored how digital tools could support the SLN's educational outreach and collaboration between partner institutions. While questions remained, OpenLearn proved a successful platform for this type of multi-institutional eLearning partnership.

2) Since 2005, eTwinning membership has grown significantly as the Internet has evolved from a passive Web 1.0 to a more interactive and creative Web 2.0, allowing for greater online collaboration and community building among teachers.
3) Looking ahead, eTwinning aims to further support online collaboration and professional development through online learning events, communities of practice, and quality assurance programs to recognize excellent projects while remaining free for teachers.

The ceLTIc project aims to integrate elearning applications with VLEs using IMS Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI). LTI allows tools to be integrated once and used across multiple VLEs. It provides single sign-on for users and passes user and context data to tools. The basic LTI specification can be extended to support memberships, outcomes, and settings. This allows tools to synchronize user lists and send grades back to the VLE. LTI enables collaboration between users in different VLEs or courses through a shared tool context.
