The Existence of Coastal Community Culture during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Si...AI Publications
The profile of coastal communities in various places in Indonesia is always described by showing their distinctive characteristics, such as poor villages, low formal education, lack of human resources, poor residential and health conditions, and lack of access to the use of socio-economic facilities and infrastructure. financial institutions (cooperatives, banks), transportation and communication, and other physical. This profile looks inversely proportional to the socio-economic potential of coastal resources. This study aims to see and reveal the cultural existence of coastal communities during the Covid-19 pandemic in Sinonsayang District, South Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province. The method used is descriptive method. Data collection was carried out by direct observation of the object that became the research objective, then interviews were carried out using the help of a questionnaire. Based on the results of research conducted on the Cultural Existence of Coastal Communities in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period in Sinonsayang District (Aergale Village and Blongko Village), it shows that culture according to the gender system is not concerned with the division of its roles in activities on land and activities at sea. Fishermen and fishermen's wives will help each other voluntarily. According to patron-client culture, it occurs because of the urgent economic interests between traditional fishermen and fisherman bosses, while socially there is harmony between communities when someone is sick and when they are sad. Local culture in the exploitation of fishery resources still uses the calculation of the moon in the sky and the distribution of fishing seasons according to the way of fishermen from the Sangihe area. Culture according to social leadership is known to have two, namely the existence of religious leaders and community leaders, each of which has a role to lead and protect the community. In this time of the covid-19 pandemic, all of the above cultures continue to do as they have been from the past, only the culture of coastal communities which usually have to involve many people with large expenditures, is currently not being implemented.

The purposive of this study, namely to find out how much and what are the sources of income for traditional fishermen's families in Belang District, and the expenses of traditional fishermen's families in Belang District is, te last step is to find out how the standard of living of traditional fishermen's families in Belang District is. The Method used in this research is a survey method. The population in this study are traditional fishermen in Belang District. The data collection method used is Sampling . The sampling method is using a quataed Multi-Stages Purposive Sampling, with the number of sample villages being 15 villages and the sample fishermen taken are fishermen with fishing rods and nets as much as 10% of the total population in each sample village. The data collected consists of primary data and secondary data. Primary data was collected through observation and interviews guided by questionnaires. Secondary data were obtained from the Belang District of office and related to this research. The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The standard of living of traditional fishing families is analyzed using the Engel index. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that the income of traditional fishermen's families in Belang District comes from their main job as fishermen, side jobs outside the field of fisheries. The total incomes of traditional fishermen's families in Belang District on average for one year is Rp.53,394,000. There are 2 types of expenditures for traditional fishermen's families in Belang District, namely expenditures for food and expenditures for non-food such as clothing, housing, health, education, electricity, transportation and others. The total average expenditure for one year is Rp. 53,394,000, which is divided into expenditures for food needs of Rp. 32,284,500 and expenditures for non-food needs which are Rp. 21,109,500. The results of the analysis of the Engel index are 60 0.46% , meaning that the total income of traditional fishermen in Belang District is 60.46% used to meet food needs only. The proportion for food, which is 39,54 % . This is indicates that the standard of living of traditional fishermen in Belang District is still relatively low because more than half of their income is only sufficient to meet food needs.

Aquaculture facilities used by farmers in Barangay Day-asan, Surigao City, Ph...Open Access Research Paper
The purpose of the study was to determine the aquaculture facilities used by the fish farmers in Barangay Day-asan, Surigao City, Philippines, and its effect to the fish farm production. This study utilized a survey questionnaire administered to aquaculture operators in the study area. The respondents were randomly selected, and data were collected through personal interviews and ocular inspections of the facilities. The collected data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The results showed that aquaculture farming in the study area was predominantly carried out by males. A significant proportion of older individuals above 50 years old remained active in the industry. The majority of the respondents were married, indicating that fish farming was often pursued as a livelihood activity within families. Practical experience and traditional methods played a significant role in fish farming practices, as many respondents had lower levels of formal education. Most of the fish farmers were full-time and engaged in intensive aquaculture, particularly in lobster culture. The farmers’ choice of fish species was not significantly influenced by their years of farming experience, but their management options were significantly affected by their experience. The type of culture facility used did not significantly impact fish farm production, suggesting that similar production levels could be achieved with different facility choices.

Jayakarsa Village is a coastal village located in West Likupang District which is one of the tourist destinations in North Sulawesi and even in Indonesia. In this village there are still fishing communities who use the traditional fishing gear jubi or arrows to meet their needs. The aim of the research is to identify and analyze the amount and sources of income of jubi fishermen in Jayakarsa Village, West Likupang District, and analyze the amount and type of expenditure of jubi fishermen in Jayakarsa Village, West Likupang District, as well as analyze the standard of living of jubi fishermen in Jayakarsa Village, West Likupang District. The research location was carried out in Jayakarsa Village, West Likupang District using basic survey methods. The population in this research is jubi fishermen who have families in Jayakarsa Village totaling 30 people. The data collection method uses the census method, namely taking the entire population to be used as respondents. Data consists of primary data and secondary data. Primary data collection was carried out by means of interviews using questionnaires and observations. Collecting secondary data is by quoting data from related agencies or data from previous research results. The data obtained will be processed and analyzed descriptively qualitatively and descriptively quantitatively. Qualitative descriptive analysis is used to provide discussions of qualitative data related to existing theory. The data is analyzed and then interpreted as research results. The research results show that the income of jubi fishermen in Jayakarsa Village comes from their main job as crew members on the Pajeko Ship and side jobs. Jubi fishermen's expenditure consists of total food expenditure plus total non-food expenditure. Analysis of the Engel Index obtained was 65.9%, which means that 65.9% of the total income of jubi fishermen in Jayakarsa Village is used to meet food needs. This means that the level of welfare of jubi fishermen in Jayakarsa Village is still relatively low.

Best 10 Economic Importance Of Aquaculture
Aquaculture
Fisheries and aquaculture make a big contribution to development in the areas of employment. Describing the importance of aquaculture is not an easy task. According to M. Shahbandeh, the number of people who were engaged in fishing and aquaculture amounted to around 40.34 million and 19.27 million respectively worldwide in 2016 and the number has been increasing day by day since 1995. The vast majority of them are from developing countries, working in fish production or fish raising, fish processing, harvesting, and small-scale fish business.

Aquaculture
Aquaculture is the controlled process of rearing, breeding and harvesting of aquatic species, both animals and plants, especially for human consumption, though it is controlled aquatic environments like the oceans, lakes, rivers, ponds, and streams. It’s a similar conception to agriculture, but with fish instead of plants or livestock. It also serves various functions such as food production, restoration of threatened and endangered species populations, wild stock population enhancement, the building of aquariums, and fish cultures, and habitat restoration.
History of Aquaculture
The husbandry of fish is therefore not a new phenomenon. Ancient practices based on the modifications of natural bodies of water or wetlands to entrap young fish in enclosures until harvest have just evolved into more systematic and scientific methods and techniques.
Aquaculture has a long tradition, which is about 4 000 years, and form the beginning of the time man identified the importance of aquaculture.. Probably aquaculture began in China before very long ago, due to the wants of an emperor to have an unremitting supply of fish in his land. It is supposed that the proficiencies for keeping fish in ponds originated in China with fishermen who kept their extra catch alive temporarily in baskets submerged in rivers or small bodies of water created by damming one side of a river bed.(Ling, S.W,Aquaculture in Southeast Asia: A Historical Overview,A Washington Sea Grant Publication).
Another theory is that aquaculture arose from ancient practices for pinning down fish, with the operations steadily improving from trapping-holding to trapping-holding-growing, and finally into complete agriculture or farming practices.
Methods of Aquaculture
The methods of aquaculture’s farm-to-table process can differ from species to species. Generally, there are four stages of the production chain, starting in hatcheries and ending at the seafood counter in your grocery store. Four stages are:
stages of the production chain

Each of these stages may vary concerning its effect on the environment and the quality and safety of the seafood they produce.
The first stage in the aquaculture production chain is the hatchery. This is where the breeding of fish, hatch

New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection

3. ANALYSIS
The Barangay Hall of Sitio 3 Acacia is located on Joy Street in the Northern part of the Sitio. The Ansagay Basketball Court is located
south of the Brgy. Hall. The Ansagay Basketball Court was used by the people of the community to play with other people from other sitios before
the pandemic hit. Now, the people cannot go outside to play in the basketball court because of the COVID -19. According to the World Health
Organization (2020), regular physical activity, such as walking, cycling, wheeling, doing sports or active recreation, provides significant benefits
for health. Some physical activity is better than doing none. By becoming more active throughout the day in relatively simple ways, people can
easily achieve the recommended activity levels thereby achieving better health by improving muscular and cardiorespiratory fitness, improve bone
and functional health, reduce the risk of hypertension, coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes, various types of cancer (including breast cancer
and colon cancer), and depression, reduce the risk of falls as well as hip or vertebral fractures, and helps maintain a healthy body weight.
From the basketball court is Anti-Ling’s Store and Fruits and Vegetables Stand. There are four stores in Sitio Acacia, one is located at the
Basketball Court, second is located in the Eastern part of the Sitio in front of the Ansagay Elementary School, third is located at the Southern part
of the Sitio in Rosette Street, and the fourth is located at the eastern portion of the Sitio in Mae Street near the Water station. According to
Krukowski R., West D.S., Harjey-Berino J., and Prewitt T.P. (2011), availability and price of healthy foods in food stores has the potential to
influence purchasing patterns, dietary intake, and weight status of individuals. Furthermore, increasing access to stores that can offer lower prices
for healthier foods may provide another avenue for enhancing food environments to lower disease risk.
The Eastern side of the Barangay hall is where the Ansagay Elementary School and Day care center of the sitio is located and on the
western part located plots for farming. According to Epps E.G. and Smith S.F. (2020). The graded structure of the schools attempts to provide
learning settings and tasks appropriate to the children's developmental levels. The match is often less than perfect because knowledge of
developmental progressions is at best fragmentary, and developmental progression itself is not static.
4. In front of the School a Tanod outpost is located, and on the southern part from the outpost are the plots for farming, there are three tanod
outposts on the sitio, the second outpost is located at the intersection between Joy Street, Ansagay Street, and Keziah Street. According to Valencia
City Government, the Barangay Tanod/BPAT plays a significant role in the development and progress of the barangay, as it is one of the
implementing mechanisms of the Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC), which has the primary task of ensuring that peace and order
prevail in the barangay while conducting peacekeeping activities in association with the various sectors of the community and ensuring their
continuous support towards the maintenance of peace and order in the locality.
Going north from the Day Care Center is where the Ansagay Dam is located. The Dam helps Irrigate the Crops of the barangay. According
to the United States Society on Dams (2020), dams help in preventing floods. They catch extra water so that it doesn’t run wild downstream. Dam
operators can let water out through the dam when needed. Dams provide a wonderful opportunity for recreation. In building a dam water is stored
behind it. This water is called a reservoir. Reservoirs are used to store water, especially during times of excess. They provide activities like fishing,
boating, swimming, camping, and hiking. Dams and waterways store and provide water for irrigation so farmers can use the water for growing
crops. This idea goes way back into history. Irrigation is an important part of using water. In areas where water and rain are not abundant (like the
desert), irrigation canals from rivers and dams are used to carry water.
In the Southern part of the Sitio from the Tanod outpost going through Rosette street, a water station is located on Mary street, there are
three Water Stations on the Sitio, the second station is located in the Eastern portion of the sitio on Mark Street, and the third is located before the
intersections of streets, Keziah, Joy, and McLein. According to the World Health Organization (2019), safe and readily available water is important
for public health, whether it is used for drinking, domestic use, food production or recreational purposes. Improved water supply and sanitation,
and better management of water resources, can boost countries’ economic growth and can contribute greatly to poverty reduction. When water
comes from improved and more accessible sources, people spend less time and effort physically collecting it, meaning they can be productive in
other ways. This can also result in greater personal safety by reducing the need to make long or risky journeys to collect water. Better water sources
5. also mean less expenditure on health, as people are less likely to fall ill and incur medical costs, and are better able to remain economically
productive.
From Rosette Street moving Southwestern, Bingo’s Bakery can be seen, there are two bakeries in the Sitio, the second bakery is located
in Mae Street on the northern side near one of the water stations. A few meters from Bingo’s Bakery is the Barangay Ansagay Health Center.
According to IP Org (n.d.), a barangay health center is community-based and the goal is to offer first aid, maternal and child health care,
communicable diseases and other basic health services to all the constituents of the barangay.
Moving to the eastern portion of the barangay from the McLein street, on the Southeastern part, at Lyca street is where one of the pastures
of the sitio is located. There are two pastures in the sitio, the second one is located between Keziah and Anthony Street. On the northeastern portion
of Claire Street is the Church. According to Oregon State University, whether a producer is part time or commercial, good pastures are profitable.
They can provide an economical source of livestock feed, reduce labor requirements, build soil tilt and fertility, reduce erosion, and reduce
invasions of noxious and poisonous weeds. When obtaining new land that will be used for forage production, especially pasture, a forage-livestock
producer is encouraged to use the first year carefully.
Moving to the western portion is the Sabagay fish pond which stores the fishes, According to Arboleda C. (n.d.), Fish grown in ponds
usually subsist on its natural flora and fauna such as algae and plankton. Adding organic and inorganic fertilizers in the pond is usually practised,
particularly by farmers operating on a commercial scale. On greater note, production of tilapia is vital in both commerce and food, they are raised
for both selling and eating purposes and helps small communities in their nutrition and livelihood. Economic analyses and feasibility studies have
shown that livestock-fish integration could be very profitable.
