This document discusses discrete-time control systems. It begins by explaining that in discrete-time systems, variables can only change at discrete time intervals denoted by kT, where k is an integer. It then describes the sampling and quantization processes required to convert continuous signals to discrete signals for use in digital control systems. It classifies discrete-time systems based on whether the process and control are continuous or discrete. The document provides examples of how to model and analyze discrete-time systems using the z-transform instead of the Laplace transform for continuous systems. It also discusses methods for converting continuous controllers to discrete controllers through discretization approaches.

PID controller using rapid control prototyping techniquesIJECEIAES
To analyze the performance of the PID controller in a buck type converter implemented in real time. We begin by designing a continuous controller using the analytical method for calculating PIDs. Pulse width modulation is then used and bifurcation diagrams analyzed to reveal some problems of switching and sampling time. The model converter is then implemented with a PID controller in dSPACE. The experimental results provide detailed requirements of sampling frequency and switching speed, and show the performance of the PID controller. Converters are used in power generation solar systems and conmuted power sources for feed telecommunication devices, smart grids, and other applications.
Buck converter controlled with ZAD and FPIC for DC-DC signal regulationTELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
This paper presents the performance of a fixed-point induction control (FPIC) technique working in conjunction with the non-linear control technique called zero average dynamics (ZAD) to control chaos in a buck converter. The control technique consists of a sliding surface in which the error tends to zero at each sampling period. A switch is controlled by using centered pulse width modulation (CPWM) control signal. The converter controlled with ZAD-FPIC has been simulated in Matlab and implemented using rapid control prototyping (RCP) in a DSP to make comparisons between simulation and experimental tests. To perform this comparison, some variations in the control parameter and the voltage reference are made in order to evaluate the performance of the system. Results are obtained with errors lower than 1 % which demonstrates the good performance of the control techniques.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

Harnessing WebAssembly for Real-time Stateless Streaming PipelinesChristina Lin
Traditionally, dealing with real-time data pipelines has involved significant overhead, even for straightforward tasks like data transformation or masking. However, in this talk, we’ll venture into the dynamic realm of WebAssembly (WASM) and discover how it can revolutionize the creation of stateless streaming pipelines within a Kafka (Redpanda) broker. These pipelines are adept at managing low-latency, high-data-volume scenarios.

SISTEMA DE CONTROL EN TIEMPO DISCRETO
Maturín, Mayo 2021
2. Son aquellos sistemas en los
cuales una o más de las variables
pueden cambiar sólo en valores
discretos de tiempo. Estos
instantes, los que se denotarán
mediante kT (k = 0, 1, 2…),
pueden especificar los tiempos en
los que se lleva a cabo alguna
medición de tipo físico. Sin
embargo, al trabajar en el tiempo
discreto es necesario un proceso de
muestreo previo.

conversión a valores discretos.

preciso, obteniendo sistemas lineales discretos. Se divide en:
𝑡𝑎𝑛𝛼 =
𝑥 𝑘𝑇 − 𝑥 𝑘 − 1 𝑇
𝑇
