Essay on Censorship and Freedom of Speech
Censorship may be protection from inappropriate materials, but it also limits free speech. For the
limitation of free speech, it is reasonable why people are emphatically against censorship. It is
understood that there is a need to filter some of the materials released in today s society, but too
much is being done by people who have no right meddling with everyone s rights. Civilization has
always been plagued by a never ending battle being fought over what is deemed right and wrong. In
today s culture, censorshipoppresses everything in the media. From movies and music to television
and even news stories, most of the content viewed today has been filtered one way or another.
Restrictions have been in place since early societies have been... Show more content on

Today, censorship is in place in more ways than you can imagine. As mentioned previously,
movies, music, television, and more are filtered one way or another. Some people go to such
lengths as illegal means of spreading materials deemed inappropriate for a certain viewing
audience. When the United States was established, the first amendment guaranteed the rights to
free speech and free press. However, it has never been interpreted to mean that all forms of
expression are legal (Zorea). The common misconception is that people believe that all forms of
expression are legal, but that has never been the case, and probably never will be. Intellectual
freedom is important because it allows people to express their ideas or beliefs however they feel
is appropriate (Intellectual Freedom Manual). With censorship, that freedom is stifled and
breaches the right everyone has for that intellectual freedom. Also affecting that freedom is the
influence that outside sources can have on your own thoughts and actions. People tend to rely
more on television and other electronic media to give them false ideas or impressions. Currently,
censorship in music is possibly the most relevant form of censorship. One of the more disturbing
signs of censorship in music is a condition nearly snuck into the USA PATRIOT Act that would
allow the government to hack private citizens computers to delete what they consider to be illegal
MP3 song files (Blecha 179).

Howard Carter Scholarship Analysis
It is the year 1922 and I am finishing my last year of college. I am majoring in archeology and
looking forward to the field project required for graduation. I would have no idea what a major
part this project would play in my life until after it occurred. I was assigned to Howard Carter s
team. He worked in Egypt for 31 years before he was hired by Lord Carnarvon in 1907 to work
on excavations with him. Everyone in college hopes to get assigned to a team that will make a
real earth shattering discovery. I reported to work in September and had been with Carter s team
for two months when a discovery was made that seemed promising to be of significant value. A step
was found that had been cut into rock. After much digging we had uncovered

The Factors Of Responsibility For Restaurants, And Service...
WHO CHOSE THIS RESTAURANT ANYWAY? THE EFFECT OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR
CHOICE, GUARANTEES, AND FAILURE STABILITY ON CUSTOMER COMPLAINING
KEYWORDS: customer complaining behavior; level of responsibility; unconditional service
guarantee; failure stability; service failure and restaurants
We test the effect of customers level of responsibility(sole responsibility, joint responsibility, and
group responsibility) for the choice of a restaurant for a group celebration on CCB, following a
service failure during the group dining experience. Service failure is inevitable in the restaurant
context because uncontrollable problems can occur during a dining experience. However, our study
is unique in that it does not examine a situation where the customer is to blame for the service
failure, but rather a scenario where the customer, to varying degrees, has selected a restaurant that
has subsequently failed. The CCB literature advocates that customer voice, whereby customers
direct their complaints to the organization, needs to be facilitated by organizations. When restaurant
customers experience service failure, they frequently warn family and friends about their
dissatisfying encounter, such as negative word of mouth (WoM) and/or discontinue patronizing the
restaurant, that is, exit (Lam Tang, 2003. In the light of this, restaurants are... Show more content on

We hypothesize an interaction between customers level of responsibility for restaurant choice and
the presence of an unconditional guarantee on CCB. Unconditional guarantees have been argued to
be particularly beneficial for organizations that rely on referrals and that are susceptible to negative

Job, Ecclesiastes, And Proverbs
Wisdom in Job, Ecclesiastes, and Proverbs Wisdom is a concept that most people are interested
in. As human beings, we want to learn how to receive wisdom, know how it affects us, and what
wisdom really is. Many people throughout the years have pondered these questions and have come
up with a variety of answers. However, answers to these questions can also be seen in the Bible
through books that are defined as wisdom literature, or literature that gives thought to universal,
humanistic, and philosophical standpoints (Dell 1). We can especially see these questions
answered in unique ways through Job, Ecclesiastes, and Proverbs. Job as a whole address the why
s of life, but when taking a look at a specific chapter of Job it can be seen

Antony And Cleopatra Comparison Analysis
In Antony and Cleopatra, Shakespeare shifts from praising Antony as a great warrior to
condemning him by depicting the gradual decline of his honor and image in order to show his
inner battle between reason and emotion. This is an apparent theme in both the book and the
play, though there might be some small differences, both shows how this inner battle defeats
him and leaves Cleopatra with most of the power. One thing that I noticed is that Cleopatra
seemed far more regal in the book than in the play. For example, in the book when Antony wants
Scarus to kiss her favoring hand (205), he makes it sound like a big honor that he is able to do
this. In addition, the way he describes her makes me imagine that it is a regal and important
moment. In the play, however she does a little dance after he kisses her hand, which to me
seemed like she was acting inappropriately and taking away the importance of the moment. It is
almost as if she was undermining what the warrior had done. She made what should have been a
serious and honorable moment and turned it into a joke. Even though Antony loves Cleopatra
his rational side takes over when he decides to marry Octavia in order to show his loyalty to
Rome. He knows that his duty is to Rome and it is where he is supposed to be and the people of
Rome are not happy about all of the time he has been spending in Egypt. To fix this and mend their
bond Antony agrees to marry Caesar s sister Octavia. This mend is shown when Caesar says that the

Coraline
In most fairy tales, there is a quest structure that the protagonist follows through. The typical quest
structure is as followed: an ideal happiness, disruption of the ideal happiness, tasks to reinstate
happiness, and finally the reinstating of happiness. The cycle is never broken. In Neil Gaiman s
Coraline, this quest structure is abandoned. Unlike the typical quest structure, the protagonist,
Coraline, undergoes a coming of age quest in which the quest structure deviates from the typical
structure. Coraline s quest signifies her coming of age when she overcomes what Freud calls her
infantile complexes, which then allows her to break the typical quest structure by abandoning her
childhood and embracing her adulthood. The typical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The parents are more concerned about work and the house rather than spending time with
Coraline. In response to Coraline s pestering about what she is allowed to do, her mother replies, I
don t really mind what you do...as long as you don t make a mess (6) while her father asks Coraline
to leave me alone to work (7). Throughout the beginning of the story, Coraline is constantly pushed
away and made second to work leaving Coraline alone. This hardly makes for the ideal happiness
that the typical quest structure begins with. Coraline starts off with a less than perfect setting that
the protagonist loathes. Coraline starts off wishing for something else other than her current family,
which contradicts the typical quest where the goal is to return to the ideal happiness the protagonist
possessed in the beginning.
The fact that Coraline starts off with a less than ideal happiness then leads to another deviation
from the typical quest. In the typical quest, there is a disruption to the happiness that leads to
distress and sets the quest arc in motion. In Coraline, the equivalent of the disruption that sets forth
the quest arc is presented as something desired by Coraline. The first couple of interactions with
the other world are something that Coraline had desired in the real world. An example of this is the
parents and the world itself. The other mother and father is the complete of the real mother and

Ethnocentrism Vs Ethnocentrism
Ethnocentrism vs Polycentrism
When thinking of cultural identity I see myself as, a mixed latina caucasian, middle class
Christian. The things I do in my everyday life reflects off of what I was taught in my early stages
of life. Learning morals to what is right and wrong. Also learning to how to be a women and to be
ladylike. With also learning and how to apply my religion in my everyday life. Being a Christian I
believe there is one God and that is Jesus. I believe God sent down his only son to sacrifice
himself for us the people. Also growing up I have heard how different religions is wrong. For
example, the Catholic faith. I was told the Catholic religion believe in three Gods. The Father,
The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The Catholic religion also pray in the Father, The Son, and Holy
Spirit. Being a Christian I was taught there was only one name to pray in and that is in Jesus
name. This affects my everyday life because the way I act, speak, dress affects my religion and
morals that were given to me since birth. Being ethnocentric I believe my religion is correct. I
know it correct because I follow the Bible. What I give off to people is a representation of that.
On the other hand, I do believe all religions are correct in their own way. They were taught the
same things I was taught, but just in different ways. I do feel like who am I to say there religion
is incorrect. It is not my place it is Gods place. This is the part where I am also polycentric. With

The Secret River By Kate Grenville And William Shakespeare
How has the Kate Grenville and William Shakespeare used compositional features to express both
similar and different ideas of difference and power?
The Secret River, set in England and Australia, was written by Kate Grenville in 2006. William
Shakespeare s play Othello was written in 1603 and set in Venice. Kate Grenville and William
Shakespeare used compositional features to express both similar and different ideas of difference
and power. They have cohesive ideas of power such as the use of structure and symbolism to
convey power however, differ in their structure. They both expressed race through the context of the
novel, setting, narrative perspective and imagery. However, 17th century english conveyed the idea
of difference with greater subtlety than Kate Grenville s use of modern english . Similarly both
texts contain powerful characters, however, these characters are differently placed and different
compositional features were used to portray these ideas.
Kate Grenville and William Shakespeare expressed ideas of power through representation of objects
as well as the structure and society within the text. Both texts express power through gender, race
and class through the main characters. Othello, and William Thornhill play the main roles in these
two stories however, the decision that lead to the gain or loss of power were sub characters; Iago

Ethics Of Cloning Research Paper
Mankind is powerful; perhaps more knowledgeable and omnipotent than any other creature on
Earth. Cloning demonstrates a fine example of how mankind is disregarding all barriers of science.
Cloning, as defined by Human Cloning Ethical Issues is the creation of a creature using genetic
material of another creature . It comes with numerous benefits; consequently, with severe
consequences. The practice of cloningdefies the natural processes surrounding the inception of life,
pushes the boundaries of science, and demonstrates mankind s pursuit of genetic, and perhaps even
societal, perfection.
To begin with, the history of cloning starts back long before Dolly the Sheep and before the
21st century (Denault). Ever since mankind s humble beginnings, ... Show more content on

Some even imagine making clones of geniuses, whose work could advance society ( Why Clone?
).The emotional issues the clones might face should also be considered. Clones would find
themselves less of individuality and more of a reproduction of the deceased or living person,
finding them less unique (Newton). Human cloning, some scientists say, would reduce the overall
value of human life ( Pros and Cons ). The outcome of being powerful and knowing no boundaries
comes with a price.
The debate on cloning continues to rage. Both sides of the controversy are heavily weighted and
show the hypermagical ultraomnipotence of man[un]kind. Not only would cloning reduce the
overall value of human life ( Pros and Cons ), but it might, perhaps, also reduce the importance of
human life. Undoubtedly, accidents, crimes, and suicides might increase as people would not care
about their lives as much. People wouldn t fear nor, perhaps, even respect death. Bringing back
the dead would only require money. However, either way, cloning is an example of how
man[un]kind finds no limits and how, beyond doubt, it is as powerful to play

old school. Before all of this new advance technology was ever around, the medical office was
using this method for scheduling appointments. This method was called pen to paper. It consist of

Optimization Technique For Feature Selection And...
Optimization Technique for Feature Selection and Classification Using Support Vector Machine
Abstract Classification problems often have a large number of features in the data sets, but only
some of them are useful for classification. Data Mining Performance gets reduced by Irrelevant and
redundant features. Feature selection aims to choose a small number of relevant features to achieve
similar or even better classification performance than using all features. It has two main objectives
are maximizing the classification performance and minimizing the number of features. Moreover,
the existing feature selection algorithms treat the task as a single objective problem. Selecting
attribute is done by the combination of attribute evaluator and search method using WEKA
Machine Learning Tool. We compare SVM classification algorithm to automatically classify the
data using selected features with different standard dataset.

Camelot-Personal Narrative Essay
Joan seemed to accept this answer. And how long have you lived here in Camelot? she asked.
This was the question Perceval always dreaded, because it often forced him to discuss his past,
which he hated to do. I ve lived here a little over ten years. I lived on a small farm on the outskirts
of Camelot until I was nine years old. I lived there with my parents and my sister. That is, until
King Urien s men raided our village and killed my family. All three of them, he said, his voice
catching ever so slightly before continuing. Owen, another farmer and family friend was a
widower. He took me in and has been a father to me ever since. He had no children so it was just
the two of us. Much of my time was taken up by farming chores, but Owen knew I dreamed of

them had never stopped hurting. My father was Yale, my mother Madlen, and my sister Deryn.
Beautiful names, said Joan. All three of them. She reached out and touched Perceval s jaw with

During the Rwandan genocide, it didn t matter whether or not you have known someone for five

Tutsis were targeted as well due to the fact that they were married or engaged. Even having a

time were called cockroaches. Tutsis were identified by having lighter skin, lighter eyes, and thinner

Why College Is Important To Me Research Paper
In today s society, going to college is very important to me especially. This is because many
different jobs require some type of college degree. For me particularly, I need a four year college
degree to do what I would like to do, which is, nursing. Although there were thousands of colleges
to choose from, Northwest Florida State Collegeseemed to be the perfect fit for me because of all
my personal reasons, for example, smaller classes, close to home which helps me and my family

There are many different reasons I believe Northwest Florida State College was right for me.
First example is I was looking for a college that had smaller class sizes. Smaller class sizes help

study groups, and helps me spend more time engaging with the professor. Also, coming from a

Rise And Fall Of Amelia Earhart
Amelia Earhart disappeared in 1937 on an attempted fly around the world. After her plane

difficulties in her plane. This theory is wrong for many reasons. Most likely, she had landed the
plane on an uninhabited island called Gardner. The theory is supposedly, while Amelia and

Amelia landed the plane safely on Gardner Island. This is where both her and Noonan died from

But, as patients started coming in with Spanish flu, it was not long before Amelia became a patient

After she was stably healthy again in 1920, her father and herself went to an airfield where he
bought Amelia a ten minute flight, and this is where she know she was meant to fly. After that
experience, she took many jobs in order to earn enough money for flying lessons and soon she

while of hard work, she had enough money to buy her own airplane but was forced to sell it soon
after her parents were divorced, for finances. Although, she did not have an airplane, she was still

In 1928, she received a call from Pilot Charles Lindbergh asking if she would like to participate

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Freelancers
So you have started a company well, is everything running smoothly? Most likely, it isn t yet, since
there are many aspects in running a business that are far from easy to handle: Tight schedules,
packed sessions, peak sales hours, pressures regarding time sensitive deliveries and mass bulk
orders, and so many more such innumerable situations.
However, there is a solution that could help you cope with such intensive operational workloads:
Simply put, hire freelancers and consultants to handle these operational tasks.
At the most basic level, hiring freelancers will allow you to manage your more time sensitive and
more instense business tasks, especially during peak business hours, by adding to the manpower
that you need without making it a permanent change in your team numbers (which you will have
little to no use for during the slower seasons of your business). At best, you gain freelance
employees who can add great value to your business and might even take a more permanent role in
your business.
What you should know about hiring freelancers:
Strengthening your workforce with freelancers needs a different work process than the one you use
for hiring and managing in house employees. The main things you should make sure of, though, ...

as pirates, some were actually privateers and were mistaken for pirates. Privateers were like
pirates, but instead of raiding for personal gain they did it for the sake of their country. They did
not perform gruesome executions and did not always stay at sea like other pirates. Pirates on the
other hand were usually ex privateers that realized there was more money in pirating. Pirates during
the Golden Age of Piracyoften lived a very wealthy lifestyle due to all of the loot they stole off of
ships. Most pirates during this era stayed around what is now called... Show more content on

Almost all pirate crews followed a universal code known as the pirate s code. This code was used
like the Ten Commandments but for pirates. The pirate s code decided what happened to traitors
and thieves along with what happened to men that brought women aboard the ship. The pirate s
code although universal differed from crew to crew. Before a pirate ship left port all pirates
collaborated and signed a document called the articles of agreement, also known as the pirates
code (Johnson). This ensured anything that happened at sea would be followed by the code.
Whether the culprit be the captain or a lowly deck cleaner, the code made sure peace was kept
upon the ship. Piracy always had to have laws since most people on the ship were criminals. In
the end, pirates served a critical role in the development of America. Without them Britain might
have won the war of 1812 and taken over in America. Whether it is roaming the seven seas or
barricading town, pirates lived adventurous lives that people can only dream about living today.

A Brief Note On Cyberstalking And Identity Fraud
Nithin Gopal D
V00748371
Cyberstalking and Identity fraud Cyberstalking is the form of using technology such as computers,
mobiles, internet and other networks for stalking an individual. The criminals who use
cyberstalking are called as Cyber stalkers. They use email, messages, phone calls and other
communication devices to stalk and victimize people. Cyberstalking cases have been increasing
these days and most people are not aware of this. Some of the most common cyberstalking comes
from many forms and the most common tactics used are threatening, harassing or sending
manipulative emails out from various accounts and hacking on the personal information and
gaining access to the victim s personal records or accounts. The recent records ... Show more

Most of the victims would end up paying the sum of money demanded and if they don t pay up
the money, the personal information would be lost in that stipulated time. Another example of
cyberstalking that I came across was Joe Good s cyberstalking case. His ex fiancee Tawny
hacked into his personal email and got him fired from his job. She stole personal information
from his Yahoo account and sent obscene mails to his superiors at work. She manipulated him
and got him arrested a number of times. She somehow gained access to his Yahoo account and
obtained personal information and used it against him. She used the law to support her cause
by showing that she was physically manhandled by Joe whereas actually she hurt herself
physically and falsely accused him. She also threatened a land lord of Joe s girlfriend and a
former colleague of Joe s. We must hence be careful while using passwords and sharing
passwords. Passwords must not be shared and we should protect them from prying eyes. We
cannot tell from where the hacker would target you and a small amount of negligence could land
you in trouble and we could be a victim of cyberstalking.
Identity fraud is faking one s identity and using the identity for illicit means. This is an unlawful
activity. It includes the usage of the identity of one person or a non existing person to stalk the
victim. Some of the possible indicators of identity fraud are unauthorized charges

Dispute between Japan and China
A dispute over islands in the East China Sea has inflamed relations between Japan and China for
the last two years but they were tense even before. So I think in order to have a better
understanding of why Sino Japanese relation is that much tense all the time, we need to know the
background that is history of two countries. I will start from the second Sino Japanese Warbecause it
was the largest Asian War and the most devastating War for the Republic of China. The Nanking
Massacre, also known as the rape of Nanking, was a mass murder and mass rape committed by
Japanese troops against Nanking during the Second Sino Japanese War, which also happened
during the World War Two. The massacre started from December 13, 1937 and it lasted six weeks.
During this period, tens of thousands of Chinese civilians and disarmed combatants were murdered
by soldiers of the Imperial Japanese Army. And widespread rape and looting also occurred. There
is not an accurate estimation of the death roll in the massacre, because most of Japanese military
records on the killings were destroyed or kept secret for some reasons. Chang who published her
book The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II, wrote of the death toll
estimates given by different sources; Chinese military specialist Liu Fang chu proposed a figure
of 430,000, officials at the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall and the procurator of the District
Court of Nanjing in 1946 stated at least 300,000 were killed,

Theme Of Voyeurism

Introduction to Film Studies
November 1st, 2017
Voyeurism: Helping to Solve Murders Since 1954 Alfred Hitchcock has always been known for his
suspenseful and action filled films. His 1954 production of the movie Rear Window is no
contradiction to that. Throughout Rear Window, many different motifs and themes are splayed out
for the audience to dwell upon. One well seen theme is voyeurism. Within the movie, the audience
is challenged with this theme, and left with the uncertainty about the power of voyeurism. Some
critics believe that Hitchcock even went so far as to use the film as a way to say that us as an
audience has an obsession with watching, which invades the privacy of those around us: voyeurism

Furthermore, he categorizes his neighbors by names that he gives to them such as Miss

observes through is watching and looking through his camera lens. As said by Seth M. Blazer, a
writer for the Midwest Quarterly, A camera is used to bring a killer to justice in Rear Window
(Rear Window Ethics, 384). However, the idea of watching stems a lot further than just staring out
a window or peering through a lens.
Given what has been stated, the claim being made is that voyeurism is ultimately a good thing.
Without voyeurism, how are we to know who is the good or evil within our society? However,
this also speaks for us as an audience. For instance, Jeff is a stand in for us in the film. He is
essentially society and the way we are always infatuated with other people. In most cases, this
would not be a positive aspect. However, within Rear Window, Jeff watching his neighbors is a
good thing. Furthermore, the other residents living in the apartments believe in the positiveness of
watching others too. This is evident throughout the movie, especially in the middle. For example, a
female resident stands upon her balcony and bellows out to everyone You don t know the meaning
of the word neighbor.

ANSWER: Outer Planets are Terrestrial and the Inner Planets are Jovian. This is because the
temperature is lower at the center of the protoplanetary disk in this scenario and in this case
OUTSIDE the frost line actually means that it gets hotter the farther away, and so water would melt
outside this water line and the outer planets would be Jovian.
12. If we find a Jovian planet inside the frost line of a star, what can we assume about its
formation? Jovian Planets can only form outside the frost line, so it must have moved inward. We
assume it has moved in because it could not have formed there. 13. Seismic Waves inside the

Born in Athens, Greece in 428 BCE, Plato had limits of primary sources to use while growing

emphasis within his own writings (Biography). The curriculum he would have been taught was
a range from Cratylus, Pythagoras, and even Parmenides. It is believed that these teachings have
had a great influence of Plato s study of metaphysics and epistemology (Biography). His parents
were to be very important figures as well. His father was Ariston, who was a descendent from
the kings of Athens and Messenia, and his mother Perictione, who is believed to be related to
Solon, who was a Greek statesmen in 6th Century BCE. As Plato got older he experienced two

Greek philosopher, and the Peloponnesian War where Plato himself was a part of for five years.
Soon after the war ended, Plato had considered to uphold a career in politics, but sadly the death

Analysis Of The Episode Harley And Ivy From Batman The...
The episode Harley and Ivy from Batman the Animated Series is full of interesting ideas and
exciting calls to action for its audience. Poison Ivy and her adventures with Harley Quinn not only
explore what it means to be a virtuous character but also question what it means to be and
independent and strong woman. Ivy specifically acts as the main example of female empowerment
and throughout the entire. While the author of the episode, Paul Dini, and the director of the
episode, Boyd Kirkland, do not tackle the feminist goals of this episode in totally flawless ways,
they still do a good job of using Poison Ivy s character to asks the audience, specifically the female
audience, to encourage female friendship, fight sexism, and questions genderroles and what it
means to be a virtuous and empowered woman. In this episode Harley and Ivy become partners in
crime, but they also become living partners in Ivy s home, they seem to enjoy sharing the space and
are seen drinking coffee together among other homey activities. In the scenes when they are home
together, they both looked relaxed, comfortable, and happy with each other. Neither of them wear
any of their regular villain outfits, but instead trade their crime causing fashion for big comfy t
shirts. I would argue that they become romantic partners and because of this they become the
perfect team. They decide to work together, they become the Queens of Crime, robbing museums
and stealing money, and they become more powerful

Figurative Language In Goblin Market
Goblin Market is a narrative unlike other poems. The two sisters, Laura and Lizzie, were narrating
the story to their children. And since this poem is a narrative, it is a very long poem; it contains
twenty eight stanzas and one hundred and thirty nine lines. But like most poems, Goblin Market
has unique structure, language, themes, symbols, and figurative language. The structure and style
of this narrative is extravagant. The rhyme is one factor that contributes to the uniqueness of the
style of the poem. Christina Rossettiprovides very vivid details, from the smallest to largest things.
She describes the fruit and the goblins, from the color and shape of each fruit to the looks and
personality of each of the goblins.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, it is used to describe Lizzie s positive actions to show the importance of them.
Simile is one of the most used types of figurative languages in this poem. Like a lily in a flood.
(Rossetti, 409) this quote is inferring that a beauty and innocence is being surrounded and
devoured by an evil or horror of the goblins. Like a beacon left alone in a hoary roaring sea.
(Rossetti, 412 413) In these lines, the setting of the passage was very dangerous like the waves
in the ocean, but she was still left unharmed despite the violence and danger. Like a rock of blue
veined stone lashed by tides obstreperously. (Rossetti, 410 411) The imagery in this poem gives
true and detailed insight on the character of Laura, and shows how important strength and
innocence develops in the passage. Imagery is used when goblins furiously attack Lizzie. Close
beleaguered by a fleet mad to tug her standard down (Rossetti, 420 421) and royal virgin town
(Rossetti, 418) are two great examples and uses of imagery. In these two lines, an image of Lizzie
defending her home of sorts against an attack, and she stands her ground to defend it against the

Imports are goods that are brought in from a foreign country to sell here. The people or firms
import goods are usually manufacturers that produce apparel in another country, and wholesalers
and retailers acting as importers. Retailers want to give their customers the best quality products
at the lowest prices. Therefore, ever increasing amounts of textiles, apparel, and accessories are
being imported into the United States and the European Union (EU) because of the availability of
cheaper labor in low wage countries. American and European manufacturers compete with labor
rates of 69 cents per hour in parts of China and 60 cents or less in India. Traditionally, imports
were fashion merchandise designed and produced by foreign designers and manufacturers and
purchased by domestic retailers at international markets. The United States has long imported
fashion from Paris, woolens in the British Isles, sweaters from Scandinavia, and leather goods
from Italy. Currently, the European Economic Community, followed by the United States, is the
largest importer of consumer apparel in the world. Manufacturers source the best fabrics available
at low cost to make into garments. U.S. textile and apparel imports increased from $10 billion in
1982 to $96 billion in 2006. This corresponds to the enormous growth of the textile industries of
China, Korea, Taiwan, and India. One reason for this is that U.S. manufacturers contracting

BMW have also started to offer financial services in the UK. Horizontally expanded companies
are extremely vulnerable to fall in sales and cyclical downturns. Advantage of diversification is
that the firm can provide a stable profit stream by offsetting losses in one area to increasing
profits in another area. The obvious reason for horizontal expansion is the benefit of cost
reduction. As the firm increases its scale of operation it generally experiences a reduction in long
run average costs. After the merger the company can rationalise its operation which leads to
instant reduction in overheads. But it s important not to become to big that leads to diseconomies
of scale. Another reason for the reduction in costs is due to the benefit attributed to the learning

not compete with Boeings production efficiency in the 1950s. A firm producing 100 units a day

Social Class As A Society Based On Social And Economic Status
Social class is a division of a society based on social and economic status. Why do we have social
class in our societies? For what purpose does social class, even exist? From India, to the United
States, many different societies have different social classes and systems. So why does social
class and system differ from place to place? These are some essential questions that need to be
answered.
Amazingly, the Caste System in India has been around for thousands of years. The caste system
places you in a social class with specific duties you must perform. Secondly, the system places you
in the social class of your parents. In the Caste System, it is expected of individuals to fulfill their

They are the second highest ranking caste. Third, the Vaisyas, who are farmers or merchants.
Fourth, the Sudras, who are the workers. Lastly, are the Untouchables who are born outside and
under the caste system. The Untouchables (Dalits) are street sweepers, and latrine cleaners. To
keep in mind, depending on village or city life, the importance of caste may differ, and some caste
customs such as carrying on family occupations, following caste rules, may not be as important.
Intrestingly, Brahmins can have many occupations other than being a priest, but no one from a
lower caste can become a priest(without some opposition). Many Brahmins own land and practice
agriculture. In addition, Brahmins have always taken part in political matters. The first Prime
Minister of India, Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru, was a Brahmin, and a central figure in Indian politics
for much of the 20th century. The Brahmins are mostly strict vegetarians, though in some areas it is
normal to eat meat. Their diets consist of rice, maize, wheat, milk, vegetables, fruit, and lentils.
Kshatriyas, are the class of those who descended from warriors, who were in the service of princes
and rulers. Kshatriyas today are mostly landowners, or follow other modern professions. People
who own a large amount of land are often Kshatriya. Though high ranking in caste, Kshatriyas
commonly eat meat, and can have alcoholic drinks, while Brahmins are unable to do either.

unnamed high school, stopping through the journey to focus on the stereotypes of school. The

of his film. Van Sant created a film, seemingly without a staunch opinion on the horrors of the

Van Sant s film aestheticizes the reality of high school, focusing on its beauty and character, and
ignoring the underlying grime inherent on most campuses. The halls and yard of the school are
kept in immaculate condition, staying unnaturally clean, almost sterile for a school. Despite this
seeming glorification of the building, the hallways are kept as a constant secondary to the sharply
focused characters the camera constantly follows. It takes the focus away from the bare walls and
empty hallways and places it solely on the students. The film isn t about the location that it
occurred, but the people that it happened to. The focus is on the students of the film, both literally
and figuratively. The camera seems to never stop moving, save for brief pauses that seem to rest
the viewer. There is little extraneous distraction from the characters as they walk down the hall; the
only time something distracts from the center of attention is when it is repeated again as the film
goes through its several cycles that repeat scenes from different points of view.
The film intertwines the lives of its multiple points of view. They all seem to be unrelated, but they
ultimately tie together in a cohesive storyline that unravels into its unavoidable conclusion. Each

The three posts, Fantasy baseball HELP! Championship Run Breakout Bat all began the thread
with questions and are great examples of investigative posts. The first messages presented were
often questions. Will the Yanks bring the trophy home this year? (Championship Run, 2/25)
Which player(s) are expected to have a breakout season with the bat? Also how strong of a year
is expected out of Mark Prior? (Breakout Bats, 2/24) I think I pulled one over on this guy. He
originally offered me just Burrel and Vidro for Hunter, Sabathia, Kim, and Mondesi but I needed
a 2B and wanted to unload Rueter. Mondesi is junk. What do you all think? (Fantasy baseball
HELP! 2/28) Some of the posts involved polls, which people could vote on.

Taylorism Theory Of Scientific Management
Many theorists have influenced and demonstrated certain ideas and concepts that influence the
social and psychological factors in an organisational management. Taylorism theory of scientific
management developed techniques for improving the efficiency of the work process. The scientific
management approach revolves around the idea of arranging for work to accomplish proficiency,
institutionalization, specialization, and improvement. With Taylor s scientific approach decisions
are based on science or exact measurements. Taylor s theory decreased its role dramatically in the
event of being questioned whether scientific managementwas efficient. The human relation school
of management thought developed due to the flaws in the assumptions of the Taylorism theory.
Taylorism was inclined towards efficiency, process and principle, however critiques felt human
behavior was neglected. Organisations should take initiative in helping employees adjust to
organisational life by nurturing cooperative systems between labour and management. Finally, this
essay will reveal the evolution from Taylor s scientific principles of management to Elton Mayo s
Human Relation School of Thought as employee well being and motivation has been given more
recognition over the course of time.
Fredrick Taylor made an observation of men at work which led him to develop what is known as
Taylorism management theory. He theorized that workers were inefficient because they tend to
ration their workload less than

Notes On Trading Profile And Goals
Trading profile and goals
Generally there is an enormous amount of information available to the traders. So in order to
trade profitably traders should take only essential information into consideration for analysis. In
this paper we trade a portfolio of options, namely 10 BHPC98 puts and 10 BHPC88 calls both
with the same strike date and price as evidenced in Appendix B. The trading strategy we will
employ is called a long straddle and is usually amenable to day traders owing to the availability of
stop loss orders on the Commsec platform. Information such as companies circumstances, media
announcements, public reports and historical data are all important information available to
establish a trading profile and goals. For example, this trade works best when an imminent
announcement is pending that increases implied volatility or impacts on the share price
significantly. One such occasion would be a half year reports due out in February 2016. Thus, in
the process of building the trade we distill our trading profile.
This trade requires fundamental analysis (and completely avoids technical analysis), which is based
on traditional economic theory and focuses on the fundamental value inside a company. Usually
this involves taking the company s macro economic form, future opportunities and operating
conditions as measurements to estimate their market value. With this information we can determine
the worth of At the Money options (ATM) required to set up the long straddle.

Sectional Differences
In the early mid nineteen century United States began to split, people s views started to become
more concrete and irreconcilable, thus the separation of the Union became more drastic. From 1850
to 1861 it was apparent that the union was separating into North and the South. They both
developed different patterns of life and philosophies of government. Increase in population due to
immigration and territorial expansion caused growth and change. Several reform movements
attempted to correct the injustices and bring the United Statesback together, but sectional
differences formed, leading to a Civil War. There were several events that took place within the
fifteen years leading up to the Civil War, however, in the end, the sectional differences... Show more

The North was blessed with an abundance of natural resources and a growing population which led
to industrialization. This caused an increase in immigrants and no more demand for slavery. In the
South the fertile soil and the hot temperature made it ideal for farming and growing crops like
cotton and tobacco. Since agriculture was so profitable Southerners didn t really see a need for
industrial development. This meant that their whole society was completely based on farming and
on slaves doing the work. The North and South differences didn t just involve slavery but it also
included cultural, economic, political, and power differences. A major disputation between the two
sides was whether the new territories and states should have legalized slavery. Northerners worried
that if slavery crept northward, slaves would take jobs that white workers might otherwise be hired
to do. In contrast, Southerners had a lifestyle and economy supported by slave labor, and they
worried that free states and territories abutting slave states might harbor fugitive slaves and
negatively influence the institution of slavery. Both sides were concerned about the balance of
power and that Congress might lean towards the other

Comparing Bathsheba And David
In the 23rd Psalm, David presents two images born out of his imagination that, for him, depict
what it means to have an intimate relationship with God. The first image portrays God as a
shepherd and David as a sheep, which exemplifies the Love of God in the relationship. The second
image portrays God as a Host and Davidas an honored guest; which exemplifies the Grace of Godin
the relationship. In both cases, David s depiction of this relationship is an image of someone, not
something. Unfortunately, many believers, if asked to depict their relationship with God via
imagery, would illustrate money or something else that they believe God for. Many preachers
exploit this, but I propose to you that any gospel with something at its center instead... Show more

David would be the first to stand up and say that things did not get him to the point where he
could say, I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his
seed begging bread. 2 Rather, David would declare that it was someone who had gotten him to that
point. And when faced with one of the messiest situations of his life in the Bathsheba incident,
David didn t cry out, Take not my reputation, my crown or my things away from me. Instead, he
cried out, Take not thy holy spirit from me! 3
An intimate relationship with God begins with a heart that cries, You can take the things of my
life but whatever you do, Lord, take not your Holy Spirit from me...for If Thou withdraw Thyself
from me, Ah! whither shall I go ? 4 Out of this passion, David presents three scenarios: a field, a
valley, and a table. In each, he portrays at least one aspect of what it means to have an intimate
relationship with
God; the type needed for powerful ministry.
The first scenario is a field. If you are a child of God, then David suggests you have Provision in the
Field. He opens, The Lord [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. 5 His emphasis is not on just
knowing about provision; the level of

Medieval Women Vs Roman Women Research Paper
All over the world, societal roles of women are different. This has not changed despite centuries of
time passing. Roman and medieval women, though parts of different cultures and separated by
distance, were very similar.
Roman women generally had three choices in life; they could remain unmarried, either by choice or
due to an insufficient dowry, they could marry, or they could become Vestals. Vestals were priests
who cared for the temple of Vesta, the goddess of the hearth. Roman men did not want their wives
involved in their public lives so married women tended to stay out of the way. Instead, they
remained busy running the home, preparing meals for their husbands, caring for children, and
spinning. Wealthier Roman women, usually betrothed at birth, had ... Show more content on

Roman women, while still seen as inferior, were admired for their role in the household, whereas
medieval women were treated badly because of how they were viewed. Although Roman women
did experience discrimination, they did not suffer as much physical abuse because of it. The daily
lives of medieval and Roman women were very similar. They had almost the exact same roles in
households and the wealthy had similar options for leisure time. In education, even an average
Roman woman had a better education than a medieval woman who received none. Nuns were the
exception. Roman and medieval women also had very similar job opportunities, though midwifery
was more prominent in medieval society. In medieval society there were more artists and writers,
whereas there were more scientists and mathematicians in Roman society. Roman and Medieval
women both had the same basic life options: marry or go into a religious position. Roman women
had fewer restraints in marriage than medieval women. Medieval women had more legal rights than
Roman women, though only after they were widowed or if they were unmarried and had inherited

Mouse Genotyping
Thus, after some time our strains bred and we recollected pregnant females. They were then
euthanized and we obtained all the embryos at the age of E12.5 and E18.5.
At this step embryo genotyping is required to identify each member of the litter in order to be able
to make future experiments. Mouse genotyping is the process of determining if they express or not
a specific gene. The purpose of this procedure in our case was to obtain purified DNA, amplify Cre
and Fog1 genes by PCR and run an agarose gel to see if the mouse expressed them or not. Control
embryos (littermates of Fog1cKO mutants) were then Cre negative and heterozygous or wild type
for the flox alleles and displayed a similar phenotype to wild type (ICR background) mice. In
contrast, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

day, a PCR was performed with the tail preps (see Protocol 1) and we checked PCR products

2.Tissue preparation: paraffin sections
The aim of this technique is to embed tissue into wax. Embedding tissue into paraffin blocks
supports the tissue structure and enables to cut very thin sections and mount them onto microscope
slides for posterior staining and analysis. I prepared tissue on paraffin sections for staining. This
technique is divided in different steps, most of them made automatically by a machine:
A.Fixation
Chemical fixatives are used to maintain the structural integrity of the cell and to preserve tissue
from degradation. Their main function is to cross link proteins irreversibly and act as a bacterial
killer. In our case, embryos (E12.5) or embryonic brains were fixed in 4% PFA in 1xPBS (see
Buffers and Solutions) at +4ВєC for 1 4 days. We put the embryos in cassettes ordered by numbers.
Those samples will be used for the final project

Basque Society, Language and Culture
There are many groups of people throughout the world, who have either managed to keep their

The Positive Aspects Of Heros In The Modern World
Superman, Batman, Ironman, Hulk, Thor, etc. All heroes in the world, but not just superheroes
are heroes . Everyone has the potential to become a hero, and heroism traits are a part of
everyone. A hero isn t always the strongest human being that risks their life, a hero is someone
who makes a positive impact in someone else s life and overcomes challenges. Bob Riley said,
Hard times don t create heroes. It is during the hard times when the herowithin us is revealed. This
quote proves how a hero faces these hard times and defeats these obstacles that face them. There
are many examples of heroes in the modern world. These people that become unique heroes are
regular people like you and me. The only difference is, these unique heroes take an extra step
and make a footprint in the world. There were, and are many situations and natural disasters in
the word that help bring out these heroes. For example, there were dozens of heroes during the 9
/11 attacks. People from all different backgrounds became a hero saving other lives and making a
difference in random stranger s life. One hero during this hard time in America was known as the
man in the red bandana. He obtained this nickname because he wore a red bandana to cover his
mouth and lungs while helping others. He worked on the 104th floor and saved dozens rescuing
them and accompanying them down to safety. On September 11, the man in red in bandana had
positive impacts on others by saving the lives of many strangers.

Morrisons Logistics manager will also have to ensure that they have the products in stock when
they need it so they don t run out of the products and this way they can replenish the stock before
its completely finished because when stock is finished even for a small time it means that
customers aren t happy and result in moving to other brands which are Morrisons competitors.
For example customers wanted pineapples in Morrisons then the logistics manager will need to
be able to respond to this demand quickly in order to satisfy the customer, even if the product isn
t available to the logistics manager they must be able to pull few strings in order to keep their
customers happy and returning to them therefore logistics managers need to be able to keep up
with consumers demands. If consumers demand a lot of apples then the logistics manager needs
to be able to find a big supply in order to meet consumers demands to keep their consumers happy
as apples are available all year around which means that they need to find sustainable sources and
suppliers.
Morrisons has also teamed up with Eddie Stobart who transport goods at a very quick speed and
this is needed by logistics managers in order to meet demands in time before the consumers no
longer want the product.

  • 2. Essay on Censorship and Freedom of Speech Censorship may be protection from inappropriate materials, but it also limits free speech. For the limitation of free speech, it is reasonable why people are emphatically against censorship. It is understood that there is a need to filter some of the materials released in today s society, but too much is being done by people who have no right meddling with everyone s rights. Civilization has always been plagued by a never ending battle being fought over what is deemed right and wrong. In today s culture, censorshipoppresses everything in the media. From movies and music to television and even news stories, most of the content viewed today has been filtered one way or another. Restrictions have been in place since early societies have been... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Today, censorship is in place in more ways than you can imagine. As mentioned previously, movies, music, television, and more are filtered one way or another. Some people go to such lengths as illegal means of spreading materials deemed inappropriate for a certain viewing audience. When the United States was established, the first amendment guaranteed the rights to free speech and free press. However, it has never been interpreted to mean that all forms of expression are legal (Zorea). The common misconception is that people believe that all forms of expression are legal, but that has never been the case, and probably never will be. Intellectual freedom is important because it allows people to express their ideas or beliefs however they feel is appropriate (Intellectual Freedom Manual). With censorship, that freedom is stifled and breaches the right everyone has for that intellectual freedom. Also affecting that freedom is the influence that outside sources can have on your own thoughts and actions. People tend to rely more on television and other electronic media to give them false ideas or impressions. Currently, censorship in music is possibly the most relevant form of censorship. One of the more disturbing signs of censorship in music is a condition nearly snuck into the USA PATRIOT Act that would allow the government to hack private citizens computers to delete what they consider to be illegal MP3 song files (Blecha 179). ... • 3. Howard Carter Scholarship Analysis It is the year 1922 and I am finishing my last year of college. I am majoring in archeology and looking forward to the field project required for graduation. I would have no idea what a major part this project would play in my life until after it occurred. I was assigned to Howard Carter s team. He worked in Egypt for 31 years before he was hired by Lord Carnarvon in 1907 to work on excavations with him. Everyone in college hopes to get assigned to a team that will make a real earth shattering discovery. I reported to work in September and had been with Carter s team for two months when a discovery was made that seemed promising to be of significant value. A step was found that had been cut into rock. After much digging we had uncovered ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Factors Of Responsibility For Restaurants, And Service... WHO CHOSE THIS RESTAURANT ANYWAY? THE EFFECT OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR CHOICE, GUARANTEES, AND FAILURE STABILITY ON CUSTOMER COMPLAINING KEYWORDS: customer complaining behavior; level of responsibility; unconditional service guarantee; failure stability; service failure and restaurants We test the effect of customers level of responsibility(sole responsibility, joint responsibility, and group responsibility) for the choice of a restaurant for a group celebration on CCB, following a service failure during the group dining experience. Service failure is inevitable in the restaurant context because uncontrollable problems can occur during a dining experience. However, our study is unique in that it does not examine a situation where the customer is to blame for the service failure, but rather a scenario where the customer, to varying degrees, has selected a restaurant that has subsequently failed. The CCB literature advocates that customer voice, whereby customers direct their complaints to the organization, needs to be facilitated by organizations. When restaurant customers experience service failure, they frequently warn family and friends about their dissatisfying encounter, such as negative word of mouth (WoM) and/or discontinue patronizing the restaurant, that is, exit (Lam Tang, 2003. In the light of this, restaurants are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We hypothesize an interaction between customers level of responsibility for restaurant choice and the presence of an unconditional guarantee on CCB. Unconditional guarantees have been argued to be particularly beneficial for organizations that rely on referrals and that are susceptible to negative WoM (Hart et al. • 5. Job, Ecclesiastes, And Proverbs Wisdom in Job, Ecclesiastes, and Proverbs Wisdom is a concept that most people are interested in. As human beings, we want to learn how to receive wisdom, know how it affects us, and what wisdom really is. Many people throughout the years have pondered these questions and have come up with a variety of answers. However, answers to these questions can also be seen in the Bible through books that are defined as wisdom literature, or literature that gives thought to universal, humanistic, and philosophical standpoints (Dell 1). We can especially see these questions answered in unique ways through Job, Ecclesiastes, and Proverbs. • 6. Antony And Cleopatra Comparison Analysis In Antony and Cleopatra, Shakespeare shifts from praising Antony as a great warrior to condemning him by depicting the gradual decline of his honor and image in order to show his inner battle between reason and emotion. This is an apparent theme in both the book and the play, though there might be some small differences, both shows how this inner battle defeats him and leaves Cleopatra with most of the power. One thing that I noticed is that Cleopatra seemed far more regal in the book than in the play. For example, in the book when Antony wants Scarus to kiss her favoring hand (205), he makes it sound like a big honor that he is able to do this. In addition, the way he describes her makes me imagine that it is a regal and important moment. In the play, however she does a little dance after he kisses her hand, which to me seemed like she was acting inappropriately and taking away the importance of the moment. It is almost as if she was undermining what the warrior had done. She made what should have been a serious and honorable moment and turned it into a joke. Even though Antony loves Cleopatra his rational side takes over when he decides to marry Octavia in order to show his loyalty to Rome. He knows that his duty is to Rome and it is where he is supposed to be and the people of Rome are not happy about all of the time he has been spending in Egypt. To fix this and mend their bond Antony agrees to marry Caesar s sister Octavia. This mend is shown when Caesar says that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Coraline In most fairy tales, there is a quest structure that the protagonist follows through. The typical quest structure is as followed: an ideal happiness, disruption of the ideal happiness, tasks to reinstate happiness, and finally the reinstating of happiness. The cycle is never broken. In Neil Gaiman s Coraline, this quest structure is abandoned. Unlike the typical quest structure, the protagonist, Coraline, undergoes a coming of age quest in which the quest structure deviates from the typical structure. Coraline s quest signifies her coming of age when she overcomes what Freud calls her infantile complexes, which then allows her to break the typical quest structure by abandoning her childhood and embracing her adulthood. The typical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The parents are more concerned about work and the house rather than spending time with Coraline. In response to Coraline s pestering about what she is allowed to do, her mother replies, I don t really mind what you do...as long as you don t make a mess (6) while her father asks Coraline to leave me alone to work (7). Throughout the beginning of the story, Coraline is constantly pushed away and made second to work leaving Coraline alone. This hardly makes for the ideal happiness that the typical quest structure begins with. Coraline starts off with a less than perfect setting that the protagonist loathes. Coraline starts off wishing for something else other than her current family, which contradicts the typical quest where the goal is to return to the ideal happiness the protagonist possessed in the beginning. The fact that Coraline starts off with a less than ideal happiness then leads to another deviation from the typical quest. In the typical quest, there is a disruption to the happiness that leads to distress and sets the quest arc in motion. In Coraline, the equivalent of the disruption that sets forth the quest arc is presented as something desired by Coraline. The first couple of interactions with the other world are something that Coraline had desired in the real world. An example of this is the parents and the world itself. The other mother and father is the complete of the real mother and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The things I do in my everyday life reflects off of what I was taught in my early stages of life. Learning morals to what is right and wrong. Also learning to how to be a women and to be ladylike. With also learning and how to apply my religion in my everyday life. Being a Christian I believe there is one God and that is Jesus. I believe God sent down his only son to sacrifice himself for us the people. Also growing up I have heard how different religions is wrong. For example, the Catholic faith. I was told the Catholic religion believe in three Gods. The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The Catholic religion also pray in the Father, The Son, and Holy Spirit. Being a Christian I was taught there was only one name to pray in and that is in Jesus name. This affects my everyday life because the way I act, speak, dress affects my religion and morals that were given to me since birth. Being ethnocentric I believe my religion is correct. I know it correct because I follow the Bible. What I give off to people is a representation of that. On the other hand, I do believe all religions are correct in their own way. They were taught the same things I was taught, but just in different ways. I do feel like who am I to say there religion is incorrect. It is not my place it is Gods place. • 9. The Secret River By Kate Grenville And William Shakespeare How has the Kate Grenville and William Shakespeare used compositional features to express both similar and different ideas of difference and power? The Secret River, set in England and Australia, was written by Kate Grenville in 2006. William Shakespeare s play Othello was written in 1603 and set in Venice. Kate Grenville and William Shakespeare used compositional features to express both similar and different ideas of difference and power. They have cohesive ideas of power such as the use of structure and symbolism to convey power however, differ in their structure. They both expressed race through the context of the novel, setting, narrative perspective and imagery. However, 17th century english conveyed the idea of difference with greater subtlety than Kate Grenville s use of modern english . Similarly both texts contain powerful characters, however, these characters are differently placed and different compositional features were used to portray these ideas. Kate Grenville and William Shakespeare expressed ideas of power through representation of objects as well as the structure and society within the text. Both texts express power through gender, race and class through the main characters. Othello, and William Thornhill play the main roles in these two stories however, the decision that lead to the gain or loss of power were sub characters; Iago and Smasher. • 10. Ethics Of Cloning Research Paper Mankind is powerful; perhaps more knowledgeable and omnipotent than any other creature on Earth. Cloning demonstrates a fine example of how mankind is disregarding all barriers of science. Cloning, as defined by Human Cloning Ethical Issues is the creation of a creature using genetic material of another creature . It comes with numerous benefits; consequently, with severe consequences. The practice of cloningdefies the natural processes surrounding the inception of life, pushes the boundaries of science, and demonstrates mankind s pursuit of genetic, and perhaps even societal, perfection. To begin with, the history of cloning starts back long before Dolly the Sheep and before the 21st century (Denault). Ever since mankind s humble beginnings, ... Some even imagine making clones of geniuses, whose work could advance society ( Why Clone? ).The emotional issues the clones might face should also be considered. Clones would find themselves less of individuality and more of a reproduction of the deceased or living person, finding them less unique (Newton). Human cloning, some scientists say, would reduce the overall value of human life ( Pros and Cons ). The outcome of being powerful and knowing no boundaries comes with a price. The debate on cloning continues to rage. Both sides of the controversy are heavily weighted and show the hypermagical ultraomnipotence of man[un]kind. Not only would cloning reduce the overall value of human life ( Pros and Cons ), but it might, perhaps, also reduce the importance of human life. Undoubtedly, accidents, crimes, and suicides might increase as people would not care about their lives as much. People wouldn t fear nor, perhaps, even respect death. Bringing back the dead would only require money. However, either way, cloning is an example of how man[un]kind finds no limits and how, beyond doubt, it is as powerful to play ... • 12. Optimization Technique For Feature Selection And... Optimization Technique for Feature Selection and Classification Using Support Vector Machine Abstract Classification problems often have a large number of features in the data sets, but only some of them are useful for classification. Data Mining Performance gets reduced by Irrelevant and redundant features. Feature selection aims to choose a small number of relevant features to achieve similar or even better classification performance than using all features. It has two main objectives are maximizing the classification performance and minimizing the number of features. Moreover, the existing feature selection algorithms treat the task as a single objective problem. Selecting attribute is done by the combination of attribute evaluator and search method using WEKA Machine Learning Tool. We compare SVM classification algorithm to automatically classify the data using selected features with different standard dataset. Index Terms Data Mining, Kernel methods, Support Vector Machine , WEKA, Classification. . пЃµ 1 INTRODUCTION S upport Vector Machine (SVM) was first described in 1992, introduced by Boser, Guyon, and Vapnik. This was the question Perceval always dreaded, because it often forced him to discuss his past, which he hated to do. I ve lived here a little over ten years. I lived on a small farm on the outskirts of Camelot until I was nine years old. I lived there with my parents and my sister. That is, until King Urien s men raided our village and killed my family. All three of them, he said, his voice catching ever so slightly before continuing. Owen, another farmer and family friend was a widower. He took me in and has been a father to me ever since. Most likely, it isn t yet, since there are many aspects in running a business that are far from easy to handle: Tight schedules, packed sessions, peak sales hours, pressures regarding time sensitive deliveries and mass bulk orders, and so many more such innumerable situations. However, there is a solution that could help you cope with such intensive operational workloads: Simply put, hire freelancers and consultants to handle these operational tasks. At the most basic level, hiring freelancers will allow you to manage your more time sensitive and more instense business tasks, especially during peak business hours, by adding to the manpower that you need without making it a permanent change in your team numbers (which you will have little to no use for during the slower seasons of your business). At best, you gain freelance employees who can add great value to your business and might even take a more permanent role in your business. They did not perform gruesome executions and did not always stay at sea like other pirates. Pirates on the other hand were usually ex privateers that realized there was more money in pirating. Before a pirate ship left port all pirates collaborated and signed a document called the articles of agreement, also known as the pirates code (Johnson). She stole personal information from his Yahoo account and sent obscene mails to his superiors at work. She manipulated him and got him arrested a number of times. I will start from the second Sino Japanese Warbecause it was the largest Asian War and the most devastating War for the Republic of China. The Nanking Massacre, also known as the rape of Nanking, was a mass murder and mass rape committed by Japanese troops against Nanking during the Second Sino Japanese War, which also happened during the World War Two. The massacre started from December 13, 1937 and it lasted six weeks. His 1954 production of the movie Rear Window is no contradiction to that. Throughout Rear Window, many different motifs and themes are splayed out for the audience to dwell upon. One well seen theme is voyeurism. Within the movie, the audience is challenged with this theme, and left with the uncertainty about the power of voyeurism. Amazingly, the Caste System in India has been around for thousands of years. The caste system places you in a social class with specific duties you must perform. Secondly, the system places you in the social class of your parents. In the Caste System, it is expected of individuals to fulfill their Dharma. Dharma is the religious and moral law ... Lastly, are the Untouchables who are born outside and under the caste system. The Untouchables (Dalits) are street sweepers, and latrine cleaners. To keep in mind, depending on village or city life, the importance of caste may differ, and some caste customs such as carrying on family occupations, following caste rules, may not be as important. Intrestingly, Brahmins can have many occupations other than being a priest, but no one from a lower caste can become a priest(without some opposition). Many Brahmins own land and practice agriculture. In addition, Brahmins have always taken part in political matters. The first Prime Minister of India, Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru, was a Brahmin, and a central figure in Indian politics for much of the 20th century. The Brahmins are mostly strict vegetarians, though in some areas it is normal to eat meat. Their diets consist of rice, maize, wheat, milk, vegetables, fruit, and lentils. Kshatriyas, are the class of those who descended from warriors, who were in the service of princes and rulers. Kshatriyas today are mostly landowners, or follow other modern professions. People who own a large amount of land are often Kshatriya. Though high ranking in caste, Kshatriyas commonly eat meat, and can have alcoholic drinks, while Brahmins are unable to do either. • 39. Elephant the movie Essay Gus Van Sant s Elephant was at once critically praised and denounced by both film reviewers and filmgoers alike. The cinematography takes you on a waltz throughout a seemingly typical day at an unnamed high school, stopping through the journey to focus on the stereotypes of school. The jock, the quirky artist, the cliqued girls, the skateboarder, they are all represented and representative of his film. Van Sant created a film, seemingly without a staunch opinion on the horrors of the Columbineshootings. Van Sant s film aestheticizes the reality of high school, focusing on its beauty and character, and ignoring the underlying grime inherent on most campuses. The halls and yard of the school are kept in immaculate condition, staying unnaturally clean, almost sterile for a school. Despite this seeming glorification of the building, the hallways are kept as a constant secondary to the sharply focused characters the camera constantly follows. It takes the focus away from the bare walls and empty hallways and places it solely on the students. The film isn t about the location that it occurred, but the people that it happened to. The focus is on the students of the film, both literally and figuratively. The camera seems to never stop moving, save for brief pauses that seem to rest the viewer. There is little extraneous distraction from the characters as they walk down the hall; the only time something distracts from the center of attention is when it is repeated again as the film goes through its several cycles that repeat scenes from different points of view. The film intertwines the lives of its multiple points of view. They all seem to be unrelated, but they ultimately tie together in a cohesive storyline that unravels into its unavoidable conclusion. Taylorism Theory Of Scientific Management Many theorists have influenced and demonstrated certain ideas and concepts that influence the social and psychological factors in an organisational management. Taylorism theory of scientific management developed techniques for improving the efficiency of the work process. The scientific management approach revolves around the idea of arranging for work to accomplish proficiency, institutionalization, specialization, and improvement. With Taylor s scientific approach decisions are based on science or exact measurements. Taylor s theory decreased its role dramatically in the event of being questioned whether scientific managementwas efficient. The human relation school of management thought developed due to the flaws in the assumptions of the Taylorism theory. Taylorism was inclined towards efficiency, process and principle, however critiques felt human behavior was neglected. Organisations should take initiative in helping employees adjust to organisational life by nurturing cooperative systems between labour and management. Finally, this essay will reveal the evolution from Taylor s scientific principles of management to Elton Mayo s Human Relation School of Thought as employee well being and motivation has been given more recognition over the course of time. • 48. Notes On Trading Profile And Goals Trading profile and goals Generally there is an enormous amount of information available to the traders. So in order to trade profitably traders should take only essential information into consideration for analysis. In this paper we trade a portfolio of options, namely 10 BHPC98 puts and 10 BHPC88 calls both with the same strike date and price as evidenced in Appendix B. The trading strategy we will employ is called a long straddle and is usually amenable to day traders owing to the availability of stop loss orders on the Commsec platform. Information such as companies circumstances, media announcements, public reports and historical data are all important information available to establish a trading profile and goals. For example, this trade works best when an imminent announcement is pending that increases implied volatility or impacts on the share price significantly. One such occasion would be a half year reports due out in February 2016. Thus, in the process of building the trade we distill our trading profile. This trade requires fundamental analysis (and completely avoids technical analysis), which is based on traditional economic theory and focuses on the fundamental value inside a company. Usually this involves taking the company s macro economic form, future opportunities and operating conditions as measurements to estimate their market value. With this information we can determine the worth of At the Money options (ATM) required to set up the long straddle. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
