An Essay About Leadership
Writing an essay on the topic of leadership can be a challenging endeavor. Leadership is a broad
and multifaceted concept that encompasses various traits, styles, and theories. The difficulty lies
in crafting a well-rounded essay that captures the essence of leadership while presenting a
coherent and engaging argument.
Firstly, defining leadership requires a careful exploration of different perspectives. Whether
focusing on charismatic leadership, transformational leadership, or situational leadership, one
must navigate through the complexities of each approach. Balancing the theoretical aspects with
real-world examples and applications adds another layer of intricacy.
Furthermore, addressing the challenges and criticisms associated with leadership theories is
essential for a comprehensive discussion. This involves delving into the limitations and potential
drawbacks of different leadership styles. Analyzing the contextual nature of leadership and its
evolving dynamics in various settings can make the writing process more demanding.
Crafting a compelling introduction that captures the reader's attention and provides a clear thesis
statement is crucial. The body of the essay requires a careful arrangement of ideas, ensuring a
logical flow and smooth transitions between paragraphs. Developing a strong argument and
supporting it with relevant evidence, whether through historical examples, case studies, or
scholarly research, demands meticulous research and analytical skills.
Concluding the essay in a way that reinforces the key points and leaves a lasting impression
adds another layer of complexity. Summarizing the main arguments while offering insights or
recommendations for future consideration requires a delicate touch to strike the right balance.
In conclusion, writing an essay on leadership involves navigating through a vast landscape of
theories, perspectives, and practical applications. It requires a thorough understanding of the
topic, effective organization of ideas, and the ability to critically analyze and synthesize
information. While challenging, a well-crafted essay on leadership can provide valuable insights
into this essential aspect of human dynamics.

Energy Efficient Foam Insulation Research Paper
People choose to install insulation in their homes for various reasons. With there
being several options as to what type of insulation homeowners can have installed,
many base their decision off of the benefits they are expecting to reap from
installing insulation. Should you be considering installing insulation in your home,
you may find energy efficient foam insulation to be a good choice for multiple
reasons. Here s how you can benefit from installing energy efficient foam insulation
in Petaluma, CA. Lower energy bill: Anyone who has had issues with insulation in
their home has probably come to realize that it can affect their energy bill. Instead of
having a bill that is affordable, a lack of energy efficient foam insulation can lead...

Unfortunately, many of these duties can cause stress. Paying bills can make
anyone feel stressed, but when the bill is high, your stress level can easily double.
As your energy bill continues to grow, so can your level of stress. If you want to
decrease your stress level, as well as your energy bill, consider installing foam
insulation. Peace of mind: Having a peace of mind is important. When you
already have work, family and many other homeowner duties taking up your time
pretty much every day of the week, the last thing you want to worry about is your
lack of insulation affecting your money, comfort and peace. Because installing
energy efficient insulation can help you have better control of your stress level,
energy bill and more, you will have peace of mind, which many people would
consider a great reason to get it installed. Decreased strain on HVAC system: Your
HVAC system is what keeps your house cool or warm when you need it. Chances
are your system will be running more than half of the year in an effort to keep you
comfortable in your home. Energy efficient insulation works great at keeping cool
and/or warm air in your home, there will be less strain put on your HVAC system
and an increased level of comfort in your
Positive Effects Of Gentrification In Cities
It is inevitable that a city, regardless of its history, demographics, or economics will
be subject to some types of change throughout its history. Cities which are resistant to
change and redevelopment completely are unlikely to be cities which thrive and
succeed. Nonetheless, the process of urban redevelopment of underused or
underutilized areas to entice a more affluent tax base, known as gentrification is an
issue which has been a constant battle for cities and its citizens for decades. Portland,
Maine is no exception to this rule, as many neighborhoods within the cityof have seen
periods of rapid redevelopment which we would now call gentrification, and the
effects of these changes, act as a blueprint for the active and future occurrences...

Nonetheless, Brooklyn is a notable example of how gentrification can change how
an area is perceived and changes when gentrification begins to occur. As previously
mentioned, a combination of both an influx of people returning to live in New
York who elected to live in the suburbs previously and rent increases in trendy
Manhattan neighborhoods caused for some to look elsewhere. Places very close to
Manhattan such as Williamsburg and Brooklyn Heights become affordable
options. As more middle class people move into what was then a working class
area the culture and amenities shifted. In Brooklyn and New York in general this
was seen through the arrival of coffee shops, artists studios and boutique restaurants
and the closure of local establishments. The main issue with neighborhoods
changing in this way in addition to the erasure of a community is the physical
displacement which occurs when those working class residents can no longer
afford to live in these areas. With the arrival of gentrifies comes rent hikes when the
area becomes a trendy place to be, as was the case with Williamsburg and Brooklyn
heights by the late 80s. These residents of lesser means are then pushed further into
other neighborhoods. The other mentioned aspect, the erasure of a culture which was
already living there is one which needs mentioning as well. In the case of Brooklyn,

Laws vs. The Right to Life
The debate over abortion has divided Americans into polarized sides since the
Supreme Court s 7 2 decision in Roe v. Wade on January 22, 1973, where the Court
deemed abortion a fundamental right under the United States Constitution. The
lawsuit began when Norma McCorvey became pregnant with her third child in 1969
and could not get a legal abortion in Texas. With her attorneys, they filed a lawsuit.
Roe v. Wadereached Supreme Court appeal in 1970 (Rovner). At this time, there
were a few related court cases whose decisions directly affected McCorvey s case.
Griswold v. Connecticut decided that there is a right to privacy in the Constitution.
Younger v. Harris decided that federal courts could not hear civil right cases by a
person currently being prosecuted for a matter arising from that claim. In U.S. v.
Vuitch, the court ruled to criminalize abortion with the exception if the mother s life
was endangered and it also labeled abortion as an emergency medical procedure
(Masci). These cases laid out a foundation for McCorvey s attorneys as the rulings
were then applied to her case, benefitting their arguments tremendously.
This official governmental interference allowed for federal action and resulted in
legalized abortion nationwide under the three tiered system regarding the three
trimesters in a pregnancy.. However, despite this landmark decision in U.S.
Summary Of The Book That Stood Out At Me Were Little
Al Silverman and other people from his time period (1931 1987) call this era the
Paperback Revolution due to the fact during the twentieth century, there was a
tremendous chunk of the events that occurred, that people could relate to. Three
books in the Silverman book that stood out to me were Little, Brown which
explains how a contributor in a person s life can be taken away by the second.
Another story in Silverman s book is Living in a DreamWorld and it talks about how
a worker earned his dream job. Finally, The Company That Was Always about Class
talks about discriminationand how people cope with it. These trios of novels stood
out during the Paperback Revolution, due to the fact the publishers wanted to
empower the reader to be the best person that we could possibly be. Familybonding is
an asset for people during this time period considering the disastrous events this
occurred during that time period, families were separated from one another. In Little,
Brown, it talks the bountiful bond that Arthur Thornhill Junior had towards his father
Arthur Thornhill Senior. Arthur wanted to be like his father in the future, when he
goes to work with his dad, he pretends to be in his father s shoes doing activities such
as talking on the telephone to his co workers. After their typical father son morning
they had at work, the fathers adventurously head out to lunch with some of the
workers and Arthur s father has a heart attack. By the time they reached the hospital

Evolution Of Whales
This assignment will look at the fossil record of whales as an example of empirical
evidence for evolution and is inspired by the article Land living ancestors of whales
from the Berkeley: History of Evolutionary Thought resource for Module 1.
There are two extant groups of whales; odontocetes (toothed whales) and mysticetes
(baleen whales) and both share many features with all other mammals: they generate
heat and regulate their internal temperature. The females bear live young and
produce milk in mammary glands to feed them. Although they do not have hair on
their bodies some adult whales have sensory bristles around their mouths and there is
a stage when the foetus has hair.
Along with these general mammal characteristics whales ... Show more content on

They still had hindlimbs but these were tiny and the pelvis was detached from the
vertebral column so they are unlikely to have been weight bearing. Figure 4 shows
their skeleton. Figure 4. Skeleton of Basilosaurus; the tiny hind limb is shown

The Dorudontids probably gave rise to the Basilosaurids and the two families of
extant cetaceans. They had similar proportions to the modern cetaceans, as shown in
figure 5, and were completely independent of freshwater.

Paul is Dead A very famous conspiracy that many perceive to be true is that Paul
McCartney is and has been dead since 1966. It is believed that the band s manager
and crew replaced him with a look alike that also sounds like him. The conspiracy s
believers say that there are plenty of clues within the songs and the album art, and
they even believe the Abbey Road picture has clues. This paper will cover why the
conspiracy may be true, why it may be fake, and at the end there will be an
unbiased opinion on the famous Beatle death . How can this conspiracy be
perceived as true? The conspirators make plenty of good points, like how his car
was in an accident on November 9, 1966. This is perceived to be the date of his
death and the conspirators believe you can see the date if you put a mirror
halfway (horizontally) between the letters in the bass drum for Sergeant Pepper s
Lonely Hearts Club Band album. If you set the mirror halfway like you re
supposed to, you see 1 ONE IX HE DIE, the 1 ONE being 11, which is November,
and the IX being the 9th, when his car was involved in the accident. Also on that
album cover, Paul is seen raising his right hand, which in Eastern countries represents
death. The Lonely Hearts Club album cover is seen as a landmine of clues. The
Beatles are seen in band uniforms around the drum with cut out people all around
them and flowers in the front. People say they can see the flowers spell
When The Worlds Collide
All ancient civilisations have contributed in some way to the development of modern
society. with these words of Dr Joyce Tyldesley I believe the main thought of
documentary When the Worlds Collide written by Carl Byker and Ruben Martinez
can be worded.
The film presents the moment of the discovery of America by Spaniards and the
following years, focusing mainly on the cultural aspects that underwent changes in
that time. It shows the way various elements from both civilizations merged and
intertwined to work as one new entity. The documentary also illustrates the clash of
the New World and the Old World with the effects on both sides, the most prominent
one being the creation of a new culture the Mestizo culture, which is the mix ... Show

When the Romans took over Greece, they also took over the Greek culture and, to
a small degree, language in the process of Hellenisation . The Roman religion was
created by copying the religion of the Greeks, with the exception of the names of
the gods and goddesses and some other details. Other than that, the Romans also
adopted the Greek architectural and literary style. As of other countries that were
conquered by Rome, the Romans also took the way of building ships and the
alphabet in an altered form from Phoenicia. In all of the countries that the Romans
conquered they would build roads for their armies to move quickly. Roman roads
were so tough and well built that many of them have lasted in good condition even
until now; the famous oldest road Via Appia that leads from Rome to Naples is still
in use . Moreover, the Romans built numerous cities, among which are Vienna ,
London and Paris . Had Rome not conquered so many countries, the modern world
would have looked entirely different. Rome had an enormous input in shaping of the
European culture. Because Rome invaded other lands and created an enormous
empire, it was able to spread the knowledge and new inventions on an extensive

Joe Smithson Company Joe s Garage Essay
Brief:
Joe Smithson established Joe s Garage in 2005. He currently advertises in local
newspapers and receives customer calls on his cell phone. He keeps his
appointments organised on his smart phone as he is relatively comfortable using this
type of device.
Joe s Garage operates six days a week. Most repair jobs are booked Monday to
Friday and most Warrant Of Fitness appointments are on Saturdays. When a customer
calls or texts Joe to book an appointment, Joe will record in his journal the name and
phone number of the customer, date and time of the appointment, as well as the
services that the customer requires.
In addition, he has begun employing Luke, a student from a local university, to help
with basic jobs two days per week. Luke was the one who suggested Joe needs a
website to take orders and advertise online, as well as having a blog to help
customers maintain their vehicles. Luke also thinks social media would be a good
way to advertise to a wider range of customers. About 80% of the customers of Joe
responded positively to the idea of online booking of services, so he decided to go
ahead with setting up of the website.

Essay on Satire in How to Poison the Earth
How to poison the earth by Linnea Saukko can be seen in two different aspects.
The first one would be by looking at it in a literal way, in which it will make it a
very harsh, inhumane and cold text. On the other hand, it could be seen as a satire,
sarcastic and ironic text in which Saukko expects to catch the reader s attention.
Saukko exaggerates the sarcasm, and satire in her writing in order to make the
readers realize and understand the main purpose of her essay, which is to warn
readers about threats to the future of our planet.
Scientific terms are used frequently through out the text, but are followed by
explanations in a coherent way, hence it makes it clearer and more understandable to

Saukko gives numerous examples and statistics on how the United States is polluting
the world. Ironically, she mentions several strategic points that will help pollute the
world, such as dumps, landfills, rivers, lagoons, lakes, and oceans. In addition, she
suggests that polluting the air is essential in this process and the best way to do so is
through combustion and evaporation. She sarcastically reminds us that we have to
continuously pollute, otherwise, the wind and rain will cleanse the earth. By
polluting the air, acid rain will be formed and affect also the animals on the lakes.
She also argues ironically that contaminating rivers is a hard task because they act as
a cleansing system for the earth and that no matter how hard we try to contaminate
them, they will transport all the pollution towards the oceans. She reminds us that
Oceans are very hard to contaminate because they have a large volume and a natural
tendency to reduce contamination. Therefore, we should use the ocean as a dumpling
place.
Saukko has a unique way on phrasing words. For example, Saukko mentions that
Because the lower atmosphere can cleanse itself fairly easily, we must explode
nuclear tests bombs that shoot radioactive particles high into the upper atmosphere
(Saukko, 247). Once again, the sarcasm and satire can be seen clearly to a point that
it becomes humorous. The word choice she uses becomes comical in the way that she
is suggesting methods on

Religious Iconography Essay
Religious iconography has been adopted by all religions around the world. In
general, Iconography is a symbolic image which implies the meaning of a particular
subject such as religious and legendary purpose ( Iconography , n.d.). For
iconography of art, the presence of things within the one single piece of art could
hugely convey a meaningful comprehension of a particular religionmore profoundly.
And that is considered as one of the significant reasons why artists put a lot of effort
to create an artwork with implication immersed in it. Because the more implications
will allow people to find more information in depth and understand that there are
numerous elements which we can refer to which finally those elements become an
iconof a particular religion. For artwork, there is no right or wrong understanding of
perceiving arts. In contrast, for religious iconography, the definition of each symbol is
fixed within their own meaning. As a result, within the word of Iconography, the
definition of it might be easier to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Question #1: Can you tell me about your work history?
What average candidates say: Ummm, well I started working at A Company doing
some basic marketing and customer relations stuff. Then I worked at B Company as
a product marketing manager. I was passionate and liked the corporate values there.
Now, I m at C Company, and I m doing social media marketing for them.
What s wrong with this response? Other than being really poorly worded, it doesn t
create a story at all. It s more like reading facts off off a page. In fact, its insulting to
the hiring manager because they ALREADY know these things they have your

First, I have experience with many areas of marketing, including social media,

Second, I ve always been fascinated by the analytical side of marketing, which is
why I chose to study this in college. My recent social media campaign

Security Issure Due to Smart Phones
Introduction: Mobile phones have become a necessity in the modern era as their
use has rapidly increased. They have advanced to a level where we can use them to
access data from anywhere at any time. Many businesses and users use smart
phones to communicate, carry out business deals and organize their work and
private life. The advancement in this technology has also increased concern about
the security related issues. The increase in technology is causing profound
changes in the organization and it has therefore become the source of risks. The
major issues are related to the personal information stored on these smart phones.
There are chances that the device may be lost or stolen. Similar to computers, all
the smart phones have become the target of attack. The weaknesses in smart
phones mainly come from Bluetooth, Network, SMS and MMS etc. Now one of
the additional concern are the applications that are being developed became
vulnerable. There are a lot of security related issues to mobile applications that
have to be resolved. Different security measures are being developed and applied
to the smart phones thus reducing the risk of being attacked. Research: The most
preferable way to overcome the security issues in the mobile phones is to enhance
the operating system or the software itself so that the device becomes less
vulnerable to malicious attacks. However, few years back the firmware security for
the devices were based on central configuration which was possible

July 21, 2011 Merit or Mistake In today s society one of the most important factors
in selecting a career field is rate of pay. No matter whether the profession maybe,
the dollar figure must be within a range that allows the employee to maintain a

argue that the current pay scale for teachers is a scale which rewards teachers merely
for seniority. They argue that the current pay scale overlooks those educators which
demonstrate exceptional performance. Teacher merit pay systems have been the most
popular suggestions made to remedy the problems seen with the current pay scale.

Hess. Merit pay systems create unhealthy competition between educators which
should be working together to ensure that the best possible educational is being given
to every student. If one observes an effective educational institution in operation, one
will notice those institutions that are highly rated are essentially partnerships
between various educators with various teaching styles and personalities teaming
together to impart wisdom on young minds primed for educational molding. The
general concept behind merit pay systems makes this type of partnership unattainable.
In an article published in Education Week Kim Marshall stated that When individuals
are rewarded, collaboration suffers . Educators become more concerned with
outperforming their counter parts to gain pay raises then working together to educate
young minds. Those who are in favor of teacher merit pay systems feel as though the
use of this system can eliminate the possibility of seniority outweighing high
performance. They believe that those teachers in merit pay systems would be made to
perform better in the classroom and demonstrate great teaching skills. Although there
is some truth to this idea, it should not be accepted in the argument of teacher merit
pay. In the Christian Science Monitor Reg Weaver stated merit pay systems would
warrant an adherence to some type of evaluative standard This means that teacher
evaluations would consists mainly of the scores from
Abortion On Abortion
No abortion to avert health risks written by the Medical News today is related to a
polish woman whom was denied to abort even though her physician warned her of
health risks she could go through. The health risk that the physician told her if she
kept going through the pregnancy would be to lose her eye sight. The polish law
consisted of allowing abortiononly if a woman was raped, is a danger to her life or
the fetus will have birth defects. The European court for human rightsis considering to
rule if Tysiac s rights were violated even though the Polish laws will not be changed.
I will now demonstrate how the philosophers Mary Anne Warren and Rosalind
Hursthouse would react to this case. Warren would believe Alicja Tysiac should have
been permitted an abortion even though her life was not at risk she could have
become blind as warned by her physician. Warren states, Consequently, a women s
right to protect her health, happiness, freedom, and even her life, by terminating an
unwanted pregnancy, will always override whatever right to life it may be
appropriate to ascribe to a fetus, even a fully developed one . (193) With this
statement Warren gives her point of view that Alicja Tysiac was protecting her
health by terminating her pregnancy. When it comes to how serious a pregnancy
related health problem can affect the woman to allow a risk lowering abortion be
permissible should be any type of health risk. Warren would believe that if there is no

Essenes Influence On Judaism
THE ESSENES The Essenes were a group of highly evolved spiritual beings to
which Mary and Joseph and Jesus and their family and friends belonged who were
strict vegetarians, never drank any alcohol, engaged in daily prayers and ritual
ablutions, foretold the future, and were extremely knowledgeable in the scriptures,
and in charting the constellations and movement of the stars. The Esseneslived
harmoniously in Judea with the two other major sects within Judaismof the day: the
Pharisees and the Sadducees. However, the Essenes differed from the Pharisees and
the Sadducees in many significant ways:

of religion and accepted the holy books and scriptures of other religions as different
expressions of one divine truth. (9) They prized celibacy, and they often observed
celibacy even in marriage.
(10) Unlike any other social organization before or since, the Essenes considered
men and women to be absolutely equal in every respect and, in particular, men and

Drug Calculations for Busy Paramedics
calIV and Drug Calculations for Busy Paramedics By Kent R. Spitler, MSEd, RN,
NREMT P EMS Educator Charlotte, North Carolina Introduction Medication
calculations can cause frustration for EMS providers. Math and pharmacology can
make it difficult to succeed on course exams, in the clinical setting, and in the field.
There is a solution to make medication calculations easier. The answer to this problem
is simple by showing students how to perform calculations using a simple process.
While there are plenty of good drug and solution textbooks, study guides, and
presentations available showing the methods of medication calculations, It seems that

Let s look at the other methods and see if it makes sense. Think about the 60 drop
per milliliter set (60 gtts/ml.) Now think about the answer you want which drops
per minute. A protocol or medical control will give you fluid amounts to
administer most 2 commonly in ml/hr. You already have the amount and the time
to be infused. All you do now is choose the appropriate drip set, using a simple
formula you can come up with a quick answer: Amount of Solution (in ml) X drip
set (gtts/ml) = x drops/min (gtts/min) Looking at an example, your medical
control states you need to establish an IV on a cardiac patient complaining of chest
pressure at a rate of 80 ml/hr using a 500 ml bag of Normal Saline solution. The
drip set you choose is a 60 gtts/ml minidrip set. The formula is as follows: Divide 60
into 4800 80 ml (amount) X 60 gtts/ml (drip set) 60 (divided my time in minutes over
1 hour) = 4800 60 = 80 gtts/min When calculating IV drip rates remember that you
can reduce to the lowest common denominator by dividing the same number into
both the numerator and the denominator to make your calculations much easier. All
samples shown from now on demonstrate this throughout. Simply remember that the
numbers are consistent with the 60 minute clock and you will catch on rather
quickly. The sample problems will show you by dividing the same number into the
drip set and the time. As you see the answer is

Step 1: Description
Pablo Picasso is a widely acknowledged Spanish artist in the twentieth century. He
was born in Malaga, Spain in 1881.Cubism was the first style of abstract art which
evolved at the beginning of the 20th century in response to a world that was changing
with unprecedented speed. In 1909, Picasso used cubism influenced by Paul
Cezanne created an artwork called The Factory at Horta de Ebro . The painting is a

There are inconsistent light coming from all directions in the painting. I can see
that the dark green leaves from the big and tall trees in the background of the
painting have had pressure put against it. It makes the leaves of the tree stand out
because of the pressure put into it, making it different from other objects. The lines
of each object are straight and made to look realistic but not realistic enough. The
shading of the colours is well blended and the outline of every shape in the artwork is
clearly seen through the contrasting. There are painters who transform the sun into a
yellow spot, but there are also others who, thanks to their art and intelligence,
transform the yellow spot into the sun . Pablo Picasso. In each object there are many
colours combined and blended together but you can still see the colours trying to
blend in. The focal point of this artwork is the uneven pentagonal prism with many
different tones of colours used. Overall, it depends on where the eye lands first
because there are three objects that stood out in this painting. In the foreground there
is the half the uneven cube. In the middle is the uneven pentagonal prism and in the
background is the tall and thin building. Picasso has created excellent paintings and
so is this fine artwork.

Public Health Response To Ageing
A longer life brings with it opportunities, not only for older people and their
families, but also for societies as a whole. Additional years provide the chance to
pursue new activities such as further education, a new career or pursuing a long
neglected passion. Older people also contribute in many ways to their families and
communities. Between 2015 and 2050, the percentage of the world s population
over 60 years will nearly double from 12% to 22% (WHO, 2015). In the 17 years
between 1992 and 2009, admissions to skilled nursing facilities increased almost
threefold. 1.3 million Americans now live in nursing homes (Institute of aging,
2012). Beyond biological changes, ageingis also associated with other life transitions
such as retirement, relocation to more appropriate housing, and the death of friends
and partners.

Freakonomics A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything by
Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner
Freakonomics brings together many combinations of thoughts that one wouldn t find
relevant in companionship. The two authors discuss comparisons that are so off the
wall, that you almost question reading the book; however, that is the reason many
read the book in the first place. The authors Levitt and Dubner compare in one
chapter of Freakonomics the reason why drug dealers live with their moms.
Throughout this chapter, the authors discuss questions about why intelligent people
sometimes do not ask questions that people really care about, advertising and
surveys, and why, in general, do drug dealers still live with their ... Show more

Therefore, I find that throughout this topic of discussion from Freakonomics, the
author s use examples that help clarify the reader s curiosity to why such a question
should be asked in the first place, and thus, setting the reader s mind to think about
the following topics in the chapter.
The second point I aim to prove, is the author s use of advertising and examples of
misused surveys to prepare the reader for the chapter s topic. The evidence in this
section is based on an example of Mitch Snyder, who was an advocate for homeless
people, a Listerine advertising campaign, and the Atlanta Police Department s
instantly cleaner image to prepare for the 1996 Olympic Games. All three of these
examples leave the reader feeling like they have just wasted 15 minutes reading
something that does not even pertain to the chapter s content.
Levitt and Dubner use Mitch Snyder s case as an example to show how surveys
and statistics, when given in error, provide the media with an informational field
day. Snyder was an activist for homeless people who testified before Congress about
the enormous size of the current homeless rate.Their use of this example is hard to
understand, because sufficient evidence is not given to the reader as to why this
example is important. The section on advertising seems to take the reader away from
the chapter s context for a while, confuse them, and then land them back to

Analysis of Methane Emissions from Natural Gas Infrastructure and Use in the Urban
Region of Boston, Massachusetts
Abstract
Methane is a natural gas and as such is a large component of greenhouse gases.
Consequently, methane emissions in the atmosphere contribute greatly to not only an
increase in ozone concentrations but subsequently a rise in global temperature.
Therefore, it is critical that accurate measurements of methane loss to the ozone layer
be measured in order to develop effective programs with the primary aim of lowering
natural gas emissions. This study suggests that current methods of measuring
methane emissions may be inaccurate. The results revealed that the annual natural
gas emissions in the Boston region totalled 2.7 В± 0.6% (worth approximately 90
million dollars) which conflicts with the Massachusetts Greenhouse Gas Inventory
estimate of 1.1% natural gas emission rate in the region. This suggests that urban
regions such as Boston may be seriously underestimating their methane emission rate
as outlined by various authority departments. This research is significant as many
other studies have not encompassed the downstream components (such as
distribution) of methane emissions, as the main focus is presently on production.
This shows that distribution may be a much larger influencing factor than previously
anticipated.
Explanation
Methane (CH4) is one of the simplest forms of hydrocarbons and is found in
abundance worldwide through the form of natural gas
The Philosophy Of Knowing And Learning
Knowing and learning can be interpreted in many different ways, but my philosophy
of knowing and learning is based on my understanding through the personal
experience in the tutoring situation. As a Tutor for students who were 9 years old,
majority of the time was spent reading to develop their English. An aspect that
impacted the students learningprogress tremendously was the tutor s responsibility to
understand the student s capability, needs and interest to support their learning
progress. When tutoring the students, there were some theories that were appropriate
to aid the students in reading and influenced the tutor s techniques employed to
support the students learning. The philosophers that influenced my tutoring
techniques were Etienne Wenger, Jerome Bruner, Albert Bandura
, Ivan Pavlov,
Burrhus Frederic Skinner, Jean Lave, Wolfgang Kohler and Lev Vygotsky
. Wenger s
social theory believed that adding meaning and interest into an activity encourages
learning (Lave Wenger,1991). The Gestalt Approach influenced Kohler s idea
where the student would need to know the basic elements before being able to learn
and acquire more knowledge (Phillips Soltis, 2009). To build up new ideas from the
initial basic elements, Scaffolding by Bruner and Modelling by Bandura were the
two learning strategies utilized to support the student s learning (Nalliah Idris, 2014).
The student is made aware that the new acquired skill or knowledge taught by

LGBT Youth Obstacles
LGBT Youth Obstacles
There is a tremendous amount of LGBT youth that experience homelessness in the
United States, and forty percent of them identify themselves as LGBT. There are so
many issues that cause homelessness in the LGBT community such as discrimination
in religious communities, lack of support from families and rejection from society.
But in a world where these issues are all around us, how can we solve this? It starts
with every individual to just stop and maybe educate themselves on this unique youth
community and the struggles they must face to bring in equality. This education can
start with volunteer work, educational classes, or even support groups. The problem
is the discrimination against the LGBT youth community, so many do not
understand what it means to be in the LGBT individual and the obstacles they must
face such as finding a job, going to school and finding a place to live, etc. Many
LGBT have to face discrimination while trying to attend and can be such a huge
obstacle to try to receive an education when you have to go to a hostile work
environment every day. In the article Like walking through a Hailstorm
discrimination against LGBT Youth in US Schools states that A lack of policies and
practices that affirm and support LGBT youth and failure to implement protections
that do exist means that LGBT students nationwide continue to face bullying,
exclusion, and discrimination in school, putting them at physical and phycological

Disadvantages Of Software Development Life Cycle
Part B (1.1) Introduction A software development process, also known as a

Analysis of Robert Fortin as a Leader
Bistro Champlain is the case of an incredibly invested family, the Fortin s, to their
restaurant, and their varying leadership attributes. The textbook Organizational
Behavior defines leadership as, the ability to influence a group toward the
achievement of a vision or set of goals. (Robbins, pg. 369) Here we will focus on
Robert Fortin and his experiences as a leader in his family restaurant business. The
theory chosen to describe Robert Fortin s style and the subordinates reactions is the
path goal theory. The textbook Organizational Behavior defines it as, The theory
states that it is the leader s job to assist followers in attaining their goals and to
provide the necessary direction and/or support to ensure that their goals are
compatible with the overall objectives of the group or organization. (Robbins, pg.

followers to attain the common goal. The path goal theory applies to the different
styles of managementthat Robert displayed. When Robert first began as a manager
he displayed a very supportive type of leadership. He probably respects them and
listens to them as much as they him (Bistro Champlain, pg.1) is a statement that
shows that he allowed them to have autonomy while still maintaining the respect he
required as their manager. However, He [Robert] and Sylvia are becoming so

Why Andrew Jackson Should Not Be On the 20 Dollar Bill
Andrew Jackson does not deserve to be on the 20 dollar bill. He should not be on
the 20 dollar bill because of the horrible Acts that he has done, like the Indian

because he made the Native Americans travel ridiculously long journeys, with awful
conflicts like diseases and starvation. Andrew Jackson had also come up with the

them with his own supporters. He had done this, just so he could get more money

Oxidative Stress Lab Report
Biochemistry of Free Radicals and Oxidative Stress
The research was done by Sabry M. El Bahr at the Department of Biochemistry,
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, P.O. Box 22758, Alexandria University, Egypt. The
overall purpose of this experiment was to study the causes of oxidative stress that is
caused by free radical. It is known that the free radicals and the Reactive Oxygen
Species (ROS) are used interchangeably. ROS can damage DNA, biomembrane
lipids, proteins and other macromolecules. The primary source of ROS is the
leakage of electron from the respiratory chain during the reduction of molecular
oxygen to water generating superoxide anion. The classification of ROS includes
oxygen centered radicals and oxygen centered non radicals. Moreover, ... Show more

The system can take care of those reactive oxygen species, some of them are
enzymes, including glutathione peroxidase, catalase and superoxide dismutase
which are the most major antioxidant enzymes that are capable to minimize
oxidative stress in the organelles, and some are non enzyme antioxidants such as
glutathione, selenium, vitamin C and E. Oxidative stress is when the balance is
in favor of oxidase, so when the antioxidants systems in the cell cannot keep up,
something gets out of whack and things start to come oxidized. This can happen in
a lot of ways, we have endogenous sources of ROS; things that are happening in
the cell like aerobic cellular respiration where the ROS are being produced as a
result of some byproduct or some cellular process that supposed to be occurring like
electron transport in cellular respiration or breaking down fatty acid and peroxisome.
In this study, scientist found that there are levels of free radicals reactivity of the
compounds that are being produced in the cell; some with least reactivity such as
H2O2, and some are highly reactive such as OH. The free radicals can affect the cell
negatively. One of the element that generates free radicals and causes oxidative stress
is cadmium. It increases lipid peroxidation and/or changes intracellular glutathione
levels. However, investigators found that some plants such as curcumin is a natural
drug that works

Analysis Of The Chrysanthemums And The Yellow...
Characters are an important literary aspect an author uses to communicate their
message to their audience. There are multiple strategies an author uses to make their
story more compelling and thought provoking. One strategy an author uses is to
incorporate a dynamic character into their written work. A dynamic character is a
character that changes overtime throughout a story due to conflicts that they
encounter. Dynamic characters in a short story serve a purpose. Just the use of a
dynamic character can change the way an audience perceives a story. It is also
common that a dynamic character will be a protagonist in the story. Two great
literary works, The Chrysanthemums written by John Steinbeck and The Yellow
Wallpaper written by Charlotte Perkins Gilmanboth contain a dynamic character.
Elisa Allen, a typical farmer in The Chrysanthemums and the narrator, who suffers
from depression in The Yellow Wallpaper both experience obstacles that shift their
mind set and idea of self worth in society. Elisa Allen and the narrator are both
dynamic characters whose journeys bring to the realization their loss of identity.
In The Chrysanthemums , Steinbeck writes in third person however, he focuses
entirely on Elisa s point of view. He sets the stage in the winter in the Salinas Valley
where there is fog that covers the foothill ranches. Steinbeck description of Henry
Allen s foothill ranch, where Elisa and Henry reside sets the tone of the story.

A Comparison Of The Knight And The Squire In Chaucers

In the medieval period that is described by Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, chivalry was
perhaps the most recognized quality of a true gentleman. This quality is explored in
Chaucer s two characters of the warrior class, the
Knight and the Squire. The squire is the son of the Knight; both ride gallantly and
have the air of true gentleman warriors. However, the two are very dissimilar despite
their appearances. The Knight possesses the true qualities of chivalry, devotion to
service, constancy in humility, and honesty. The Squire possesses none of these
qualities truly; instead his demeanor is one that is less honorable and virtuous.

Although Chaucer does not criticize the
Squire by his writing, the Squire s hesitant attitude towards putting himself in mortal
danger as well as his lack of conviction are revealed in light of the Knight s numerous
demonstrations of a willingness to defend his faith single handedly and also in
extreme hardship and distance.
In addition to Chaucer s descriptions of dedication that distinguish the
Knight, Chaucer also provides a description of the Squire s acquisitiveness for
wealth and beauty, a quality that is contrary to the humble nature of the knight. The
Squire had quot;locks as curly as if they had been pressed quot;, while there is no
such description of the Knight s appearance whatsoever
(5). I feel that Chaucer does not intend to criticize the Squire by the mention of the
beauty of the Squire s hair in conjunction with the mention of the poor outfit of the
Knight. Instead he attempts to point out that the
Squire is the lesser of the two in terms of keeping to the code of chivalry.
Regarding his articles of clothing, the Knight wore a fustian tunic, which was only
somewhat bright and only sufficiently comfortable. An example of the Squire s
meticulous appearance is:
He was embroidered like a meadow bright
And full of freshest flowers, red and white.
. . . He was as fresh as is the month of May.

short amount of time, usually the summer tourism season last a total of three
months. This short season taught me the value of putting in the work when the
work is there. Even with all the planning in the world sometimes things are going
to end up differently than you expect. The fall of 2010 I would be heading back to
Steamboat just as I did the two previous years with the same plan and savings. All
though this particular winter was not cooperating as the previous seasons had.
Everybody knows that betting on the weather is never a good idea and this
particular year I had made the wrong bet. The locals kept reassuring me that this
was the year of El NiГ±a which meant a tremendous amount of snow for the year,
the only downside to this is that an El NiГ±a winter likes to show up to the party
late. For me that meant my budget calculations would be off, while I had a job
lined up at my previous place of employment it would not begin until the ski
mountain was open. This meant I had to find a job and fast, I took the bus down to
the local Wendy s and applied for a job. Luckily they were hiring and I got the job,
I had found a way to pay the rent for the month. While I had a job lined up when
winter finally
Analysis of an Affair in Anton ChekhovВґs The Lady with
the...
Anna and Dmitri are two people with a strong desire to be together, but this is
conflicted by reality. Their reality is that they are married to other people. The love
that they share for one another represents the struggle that one may face wanting
to break away from reality. Dmitri was a man who had been unfaithful to his wife
quite often. Her imperfections seemed to be his only reasoning for this. Dmitri
was most likely only in Yalta to look for a new woman to have an affair with.
Considering this, being with Anna didn t bother him. He was introduced in the
story as a rather selfish man who seemed to just have his way with Anna. He
referred to women as an inferior race , due to his past experience. Anna, on the other
hand, was new to the idea of being unfaithful to her husband. This scared her so even
though she knew that she loved Dmitri, she convinced herself that it was not real love
that they shared. Throughout the story, both Anna and Dmitri changed the way they
felt about their lives. Dmitri seemed to have had a very superficial relationship with
his wife, and this made him appreciate his relationship with Anna even more. Once
he spots her, the scenery in the story begins to shape. It is full of beautiful colors and
light. The more exciting his life became in Yalta with Anna, the more dull and
uninteresting his life back home became. His thoughts portray to the reader that he
believes Anna is the perfect contender for an affair. The author of the story, Chekov,
Malcolm Gladwell Plagiarism
Malcolm Gladwell wrote Sometheing Borrowed: Should a charge of plagiarism
ruin your life in What the Dog Saw: And other Adventures. Gladwell s main point
in his story is that plagiarism is unfair and dishonest. He then goes on to discuss the
many facets of plagiarism; like melodies in songs and picnic tables. Gladwell wants
people who are interested in the arts and humanities to read this because he pulls
pieces of music, art and literature to use as examples since plagiarism is a key
component in these areas. This is because people change up others work and make
it into their own for the world to develop and grow. Malcolm Gladwell explains
that when an idea goes public, people are allowed to copy it and make others work
into a grander cause. Overall I think Gladwell was trying to focus on why ideas are
plagiarized and their reasoning behind it, rather than just focusing on the fact that it
was plagiarized. Gladwell starts off by introducing a psychiatrist by the name of
Dorothy
Lewis whose work and life had been amalgamated in a Broadway play called
Frozen. Lewis s friends had continuously nagged her to go see the play, after a
short few months she received a phone call from the theatre production of frozen
asking her if she would do a talk back after the play. Before she accepted to do it she
asked if she could read the script. After reading it she realized that Bryon Lavery not
only took her work but violated her as well. At the time Lavery

ABSTRACT
Internship at National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC), Power System Operation
Corporation Ltd can be divided into two periods. In starting weeks, I get the
overview of Indian power sector, understood the Indian power grid, functions of
NLDC and many technical terms but later the project Short TermLoad Forecasting
(STLF) using ANN Techniques was assigned to me. I have to forecast the load for
Delhi using ANN Technique.
Load forecasting is the technique for prediction of electrical load. It is much need
for a generating company to know about the market load demand in a deregulated
market for generating near to accurate power. If the generation is not sufficient to
fulfill the demand, there would be problem of irregular supply and in case of excess
generation the generating company will have to bear the loss. There are various
factors which influence the behavior of the consumer load. These factors can be
categorized as Time factor, weather, economy and random disturbances. Accurate
forecasting can maximize the profit of producers and for consumers, it can maximize
their utilities. STLF plays an important role in electric power system operation and
planning. An accurate load forecasting not only reduces the generation cost in a
power system, but also provides a good principle of effective operation. It is trained
using back propagation algorithm and tested. The results obtained from neural
network are presented and the results show that the neural network based
The Parable Of The Rich Fool
The chapter is 12 and the verses are 13 through 21. The parable is the one of The
Rich Fool and his greed. The story is told by Jesus while he is in a gathering of
thousands of people and a statement arises that allows him to preach on objects with
only earthly value, as well as the greed of people towards those objects, and what we
should do to fight that greed and please God(Hendrix, The Parables of Jesus, p. 96 ).
Jesus tells us this parable in the form of the indirect question. This means that the
question does not come from Jesus or one of the members of the crowd, but instead
it is integrated into the character of the parable( Lecture notes, The Parables of
Luke, April 12, 2016). So in the case of Luke 12: 13 21, the question is... Show more

He would rather keep all of his extra crops to himself instead of share them with
others. This idea is struck down by Luke 12: 20 21. Because it states that if a man
keeps his treasure for himself is a fool and will not be seen rich in god s eyes. God
addresses the man as a fool , a man who lives without taking into account the
existence of either God or fellow man, or a practice atheist (Hendrix, The Parables
of Jesus, p. 103). This states that God is essentially calling out the the rich fool for
not truly believing that there is a god, The fool says in his heart, there is no God
(Hendrix, The Parables of Jesus, p. 103). A very interesting note from the Hendrix
commentary is this, The folly of this man manifests itself specifically in the
contrast between his plans devised to live an easy life for many years , and the fact
that he is going to die this (very) night (emphatically place at the beginning of God s
words). No man has the power to retain the spirit, or authority over the day of death
(Eccl. 8:8). So here, this rich man who thinks that his euphoreo (many things) will
produce euphrЕЌn (the good life), is in reality aphrЕЌn (without mind, spirit, and
emotions). His formula for the good life is sheer stupidity
The Enuma Elish Osiris
The Middle East chapter in our mythology book contained the stories The Enuma
elish, Osiris, Isis, and Horus, Telepinu, and Gilgamesh. Throughout these four
stories, we learn how the Babylonian and Egyptian gods were created, and read
about the adventures of other gods. The first story is The Enuma elish, and it was
the Babylonian creation myth. In the beginning, there were two gods, Apsu was
the ruler of the sweet waters, and Tiamat was the rulers of the salt waters. After a
few generations of gods, Ea was born from Anu and Nintu. Ea was stronger than
his father and his grandfather, so he became the god of the earth. After a while, the
younger gods were starting to become annoying to the older gods, because they
were being to rowdy. Apsu s idea to stop their behavior was to destroy all the
younger gods, and once the younger gods heard the news they became very... Show

It doesn t follow the same storyline as The Enuma elish, like I was expecting it too.
Instead it was about a goddess named Nut, and three gods named Re, Geb, and
Thoth. These four gods had five children together, Osiris, Isis, Horus, Set, and
Nephthys. Osiris became the king of Egypt, and created a Golden Age for them,
but Set wanted to rule Egypt. So this story is about Set trying to become the king
of Egypt. Telepinu was a story about the very angry god named Telepinu. This
story was about the time that Telepinu got so angry that all crops and vegetation
died, and humans feared that they would die of starvation. Throughout the story the
great gods were searching for Telepinu, so that he could restore the crops and
vegetation. The last story was Gilgamesh, and this was a story about a hero named
Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh is a hero s journey to find immortality, because he doesn t
want to die. He wants to be known forever. So he defeats Humbaba, and goes on a
mission to find Utanapishtim who was a human, but now is
Aestheticism In The Picture Of Dorian Gray
The Picture of Dorian Grey In The Picture of Dorian Grey, Oscar Wilde, sets out to
show the influence of aestheticism in late Victorian era. The philosophy of
aestheticism was that art should be judged purely by its beauty and form rather
than by any underlying moral message art for art s sake that art merely exist to be
beautiful (Buzwell). In writing the preface of the novel Wilde writes, all art is
quite useless. (Wilde 4) This statement is in contrast to the events that take place in
the novel. The artwork reflects the evil actions of Dorian Grey and a myriad of
characters are impacted by the influence the portrait has on its subject. As the
novel begins Basil Hallward is in awe of Dorian Grey. It is apparent that Basil
Hallward admires Dorian s physical beauty to excess. He paints the young
handsome gentleman with enthusiasm. Basil s artistic expression creates a
masterpiece. When first describing Dorian to Lord Henry, Basil describes how
Dorian has become integral to his artistic expression, suggesting that Basil s interest
consists most essentially in Dorian s physical beauty, since that can be represented
in Basil s art. As Basil is finishing the portrait and once he is done, almost
everything that he says to Dorian is flattery of Dorian s beauty. Dorian becomes in
love with the painting and with his own beauty. He grew more and more enamoured
of his own beauty, more and more interested in the corruption of his own soul. Basil is
Self Observation Of A Self
Throughout my self observation, I felt the need to start with a baseline of who I
am. Being raised in the south I learned to respect myself and others, but sometimes
people are just right down obnoxious. Also, I hold myself to high standards because
there s no reason why I cannot make my goals a reality if I give it my all. This is
known as Self Concept: The relatively stable set of perceptions you hold of yourself.
(Page 63) For example, in my observationI notice my patience level is very thin for
people who do not have respect for other s education. There s one girl in particular
yesterday, who texted the whole class, which my nursing class is from 8:30am to
2pm. Therefore, as I m trying to listen and highlight in my book, only thing I hear
is the sound of her long nails tapping on her keyboard or her phone vibrating. Than
during break she wants to ask me for the notes, because the teacher was moving too
fast. Since this is still the first couple of weeks of school, I try to be a little more
understanding, but I will not do someone s work just for them not to pay attention.
Therefore today, when the test came around I had studied my butt off and scored
very well. But for the girl that sits next to me, she complained that the test was too
hard and how we didn t have the appropriate information to study for the test. In that
moment, I found myself comparing our differences, I work hard for my grades. I
study and work my butt off then there s those people that don t do anything in class
but are the first ones to complain. The book recognized this as Social Comparison:
Evaluating ourselves in terms of how we compare with others. (Page 66)
Throughout the rest of my day, I noticed I compare myself to a lot of different
people without even noticing. Like when I was driving home I saw all these people
texting and driving, and I just could not help thinking like what the heck, I can t
even look to the side without going into the other line so how in the world are they
texting! I do not compare myself to other to prove whose better but I believe it just
natural to compare others to yourself.
While at home, I observe the unreserved self more than while am at school where I
trend to be a little reserved. I

Firstly, defining leadership requires a careful exploration of different perspectives. Whether focusing on charismatic leadership, transformational leadership, or situational leadership, one must navigate through the complexities of each approach. Balancing the theoretical aspects with real-world examples and applications adds another layer of intricacy. Crafting a compelling introduction that captures the reader's attention and provides a clear thesis statement is crucial. The body of the essay requires a careful arrangement of ideas, ensuring a logical flow and smooth transitions between paragraphs. Developing a strong argument and supporting it with relevant evidence, whether through historical examples, case studies, or scholarly research, demands meticulous research and analytical skills. Concluding the essay in a way that reinforces the key points and leaves a lasting impression adds another layer of complexity. • 3. Positive Effects Of Gentrification In Cities It is inevitable that a city, regardless of its history, demographics, or economics will be subject to some types of change throughout its history. Cities which are resistant to change and redevelopment completely are unlikely to be cities which thrive and succeed. Nonetheless, the process of urban redevelopment of underused or underutilized areas to entice a more affluent tax base, known as gentrification is an issue which has been a constant battle for cities and its citizens for decades. Portland, Maine is no exception to this rule, as many neighborhoods within the cityof have seen periods of rapid redevelopment which we would now call gentrification, and the effects of these changes, act as a blueprint for the active and future occurrences... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nonetheless, Brooklyn is a notable example of how gentrification can change how an area is perceived and changes when gentrification begins to occur. As previously mentioned, a combination of both an influx of people returning to live in New York who elected to live in the suburbs previously and rent increases in trendy Manhattan neighborhoods caused for some to look elsewhere. Places very close to Manhattan such as Williamsburg and Brooklyn Heights become affordable options. As more middle class people move into what was then a working class area the culture and amenities shifted. In Brooklyn and New York in general this was seen through the arrival of coffee shops, artists studios and boutique restaurants and the closure of local establishments. The main issue with neighborhoods changing in this way in addition to the erasure of a community is the physical displacement which occurs when those working class residents can no longer afford to live in these areas. With the arrival of gentrifies comes rent hikes when the area becomes a trendy place to be, as was the case with Williamsburg and Brooklyn heights by the late 80s. These residents of lesser means are then pushed further into other neighborhoods. The other mentioned aspect, the erasure of a culture which was already living there is one which needs mentioning as well. In the case of Brooklyn, filmmaker

Eskandari Political Science 101 SBCC April 19, 2015 T/R 11:10 Laws vs. The Right to Life The debate over abortion has divided Americans into polarized sides since the Supreme Court s 7 2 decision in Roe v. Wade on January 22, 1973, where the Court deemed abortion a fundamental right under the United States Constitution. The lawsuit began when Norma McCorvey became pregnant with her third child in 1969 and could not get a legal abortion in Texas. With her attorneys, they filed a lawsuit. Roe v. Wadereached Supreme Court appeal in 1970 (Rovner). At this time, there were a few related court cases whose decisions directly affected McCorvey s case. Griswold v. Connecticut decided that there is a right to privacy in the Constitution. Younger v. Harris decided that federal courts could not hear civil right cases by a person currently being prosecuted for a matter arising from that claim. In U.S. v. Vuitch, the court ruled to criminalize abortion with the exception if the mother s life was endangered and it also labeled abortion as an emergency medical procedure (Masci). These cases laid out a foundation for McCorvey s attorneys as the rulings were then applied to her case, benefitting their arguments tremendously. This official governmental interference allowed for federal action and resulted in legalized abortion nationwide under the three tiered system regarding the three trimesters in a pregnancy.. However, despite this landmark decision in U.S.

Summary Of The Book That Stood Out At Me Were Little Al Silverman and other people from his time period (1931 1987) call this era the Paperback Revolution due to the fact during the twentieth century, there was a tremendous chunk of the events that occurred, that people could relate to. Three books in the Silverman book that stood out to me were Little, Brown which explains how a contributor in a person s life can be taken away by the second. Another story in Silverman s book is Living in a DreamWorld and it talks about how a worker earned his dream job. Finally, The Company That Was Always about Class talks about discriminationand how people cope with it. These trios of novels stood out during the Paperback Revolution, due to the fact the publishers wanted to empower the reader to be the best person that we could possibly be. Familybonding is an asset for people during this time period considering the disastrous events this occurred during that time period, families were separated from one another. In Little, Brown, it talks the bountiful bond that Arthur Thornhill Junior had towards his father Arthur Thornhill Senior. Arthur wanted to be like his father in the future, when he goes to work with his dad, he pretends to be in his father s shoes doing activities such as talking on the telephone to his co workers. After their typical father son morning they had at work, the fathers adventurously head out to lunch with some of the workers and Arthur s father has a heart attack. Analysis Of Paul Mccartney s The Abbey Road Picture Dakota Pierce Mr. Bergmann Senior English P2 1 April 2015 Paul is Dead A very famous conspiracy that many perceive to be true is that Paul McCartney is and has been dead since 1966. It is believed that the band s manager and crew replaced him with a look alike that also sounds like him. The conspiracy s believers say that there are plenty of clues within the songs and the album art, and they even believe the Abbey Road picture has clues. This paper will cover why the conspiracy may be true, why it may be fake, and at the end there will be an unbiased opinion on the famous Beatle death . How can this conspiracy be perceived as true? The conspirators make plenty of good points, like how his car was in an accident on November 9, 1966. This is perceived to be the date of his death and the conspirators believe you can see the date if you put a mirror halfway (horizontally) between the letters in the bass drum for Sergeant Pepper s Lonely Hearts Club Band album. If you set the mirror halfway like you re supposed to, you see 1 ONE IX HE DIE, the 1 ONE being 11, which is November, and the IX being the 9th, when his car was involved in the accident. Also on that album cover, Paul is seen raising his right hand, which in Eastern countries represents death. The Lonely Hearts Club album cover is seen as a landmine of clues. The Beatles are seen in band uniforms around the drum with cut out people all around them and flowers in the front. People say they can see the flowers spell

  • 11. Essay on Satire in How to Poison the Earth How to poison the earth by Linnea Saukko can be seen in two different aspects. The first one would be by looking at it in a literal way, in which it will make it a very harsh, inhumane and cold text. On the other hand, it could be seen as a satire, sarcastic and ironic text in which Saukko expects to catch the reader s attention. Saukko exaggerates the sarcasm, and satire in her writing in order to make the readers realize and understand the main purpose of her essay, which is to warn readers about threats to the future of our planet. Scientific terms are used frequently through out the text, but are followed by explanations in a coherent way, hence it makes it clearer and more understandable to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Saukko gives numerous examples and statistics on how the United States is polluting the world. Ironically, she mentions several strategic points that will help pollute the world, such as dumps, landfills, rivers, lagoons, lakes, and oceans. In addition, she suggests that polluting the air is essential in this process and the best way to do so is through combustion and evaporation. She sarcastically reminds us that we have to continuously pollute, otherwise, the wind and rain will cleanse the earth. By polluting the air, acid rain will be formed and affect also the animals on the lakes. She also argues ironically that contaminating rivers is a hard task because they act as a cleansing system for the earth and that no matter how hard we try to contaminate them, they will transport all the pollution towards the oceans. She reminds us that Oceans are very hard to contaminate because they have a large volume and a natural tendency to reduce contamination. Therefore, we should use the ocean as a dumpling place. Saukko has a unique way on phrasing words. For example, Saukko mentions that Because the lower atmosphere can cleanse itself fairly easily, we must explode nuclear tests bombs that shoot radioactive particles high into the upper atmosphere (Saukko, 247). Once again, the sarcasm and satire can be seen clearly to a point that it becomes humorous. The word choice she uses becomes comical in the way that she is suggesting methods on

If one observes an effective educational institution in operation, one will notice those institutions that are highly rated are essentially partnerships between various educators with various teaching styles and personalities teaming together to impart wisdom on young minds primed for educational molding. The general concept behind merit pay systems makes this type of partnership unattainable. In an article published in Education Week Kim Marshall stated that When individuals are rewarded, collaboration suffers . Educators become more concerned with outperforming their counter parts to gain pay raises then working together to educate young minds. Those who are in favor of teacher merit pay systems feel as though the use of this system can eliminate the possibility of seniority outweighing high performance. They believe that those teachers in merit pay systems would be made to perform better in the classroom and demonstrate great teaching skills. Warren states, Consequently, a women s right to protect her health, happiness, freedom, and even her life, by terminating an unwanted pregnancy, will always override whatever right to life it may be appropriate to ascribe to a fetus, even a fully developed one . When it comes to how serious a pregnancy related health problem can affect the woman to allow a risk lowering abortion be permissible should be any type of health risk. Warren would believe that if there is no serious health related

The smell would have been unbearad past an old abandoned tavern as a horse drawn cart hobbled by full of reeking bodies. The Plague had started 37 years ago when the gallys had arrived at Italy s port. When the Plague hit, great panic almost spread as fast as the Plague itself. People adopted insane Ideas of how this happened and what to do. Even though Sam lived at a small town he had heard rumors of a exceptionally psychotic group called the flagellation. Sam had ran away to this small country village trying to escape from the Plague. But it seemed just as bad out here. Sam was 22 and was born into the Plague. He lost his mother to it and his father had left him at the age of 9. Luckily Sam had been able to dodge its corruption. Sam continued walking down the street in eerie silence. Spitler, MSEd, RN, NREMT P EMS Educator Charlotte, North Carolina Introduction Medication calculations can cause frustration for EMS providers. Math and pharmacology can make it difficult to succeed on course exams, in the clinical setting, and in the field. There is a solution to make medication calculations easier. The answer to this problem is simple by showing students how to perform calculations using a simple process. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Let s look at the other methods and see if it makes sense. Think about the 60 drop per milliliter set (60 gtts/ml.) Now think about the answer you want which drops per minute. A protocol or medical control will give you fluid amounts to administer most 2 commonly in ml/hr. You already have the amount and the time to be infused. All you do now is choose the appropriate drip set, using a simple formula you can come up with a quick answer: Amount of Solution (in ml) X drip set (gtts/ml) = x drops/min (gtts/min) Looking at an example, your medical control states you need to establish an IV on a cardiac patient complaining of chest pressure at a rate of 80 ml/hr using a 500 ml bag of Normal Saline solution. The drip set you choose is a 60 gtts/ml minidrip set. The formula is as follows: Divide 60 into 4800 80 ml (amount) X 60 gtts/ml (drip set) 60 (divided my time in minutes over 1 hour) = 4800 60 = 80 gtts/min When calculating IV drip rates remember that you can reduce to the lowest common denominator by dividing the same number into both the numerator and the denominator to make your calculations much easier. All samples shown from now on demonstrate this throughout. Simply remember that the numbers are consistent with the 60 minute clock and you will catch on rather quickly. The sample problems will show you by dividing the same number into the drip set and the time. As you see the answer is

In 1909, Picasso used cubism influenced by Paul Cezanne created an artwork called The Factory at Horta de Ebro . The lines of each object are straight and made to look realistic but not realistic enough. The shading of the colours is well blended and the outline of every shape in the artwork is clearly seen through the contrasting. There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot, but there are also others who, thanks to their art and intelligence, transform the yellow spot into the sun . Pablo Picasso. The second point I aim to prove, is the author s use of advertising and examples of misused surveys to prepare the reader for the chapter s topic. The evidence in this section is based on an example of Mitch Snyder, who was an advocate for homeless people, a Listerine advertising campaign, and the Atlanta Police Department s instantly cleaner image to prepare for the 1996 Olympic Games. All three of these examples leave the reader feeling like they have just wasted 15 minutes reading something that does not even pertain to the chapter s content. • 27. The Effects Of Methane Emissions On The Urban Region Of... Analysis of Methane Emissions from Natural Gas Infrastructure and Use in the Urban Region of Boston, Massachusetts Abstract Methane is a natural gas and as such is a large component of greenhouse gases. Consequently, methane emissions in the atmosphere contribute greatly to not only an increase in ozone concentrations but subsequently a rise in global temperature. Therefore, it is critical that accurate measurements of methane loss to the ozone layer be measured in order to develop effective programs with the primary aim of lowering natural gas emissions. This study suggests that current methods of measuring methane emissions may be inaccurate. The results revealed that the annual natural gas emissions in the Boston region totalled 2.7 В± 0.6% (worth approximately 90 million dollars) which conflicts with the Massachusetts Greenhouse Gas Inventory estimate of 1.1% natural gas emission rate in the region. This suggests that urban regions such as Boston may be seriously underestimating their methane emission rate as outlined by various authority departments. This research is significant as many other studies have not encompassed the downstream components (such as distribution) of methane emissions, as the main focus is presently on production. This shows that distribution may be a much larger influencing factor than previously anticipated. Explanation Methane (CH4) is one of the simplest forms of hydrocarbons and is found in abundance worldwide through the form of natural gas

The system can take care of those reactive oxygen species, some of them are enzymes, including glutathione peroxidase, catalase and superoxide dismutase which are the most major antioxidant enzymes that are capable to minimize oxidative stress in the organelles, and some are non enzyme antioxidants such as glutathione, selenium, vitamin C and E. Oxidative stress is when the balance is in favor of oxidase, so when the antioxidants systems in the cell cannot keep up, something gets out of whack and things start to come oxidized. This can happen in a lot of ways, we have endogenous sources of ROS; things that are happening in the cell like aerobic cellular respiration where the ROS are being produced as a result of some byproduct or some cellular process that supposed to be occurring like electron transport in cellular respiration or breaking down fatty acid and peroxisome. A dynamic character is a character that changes overtime throughout a story due to conflicts that they encounter. Dynamic characters in a short story serve a purpose. Just the use of a dynamic character can change the way an audience perceives a story. It is also common that a dynamic character will be a protagonist in the story. In addition to Chaucer s descriptions of dedication that distinguish the Knight, Chaucer also provides a description of the Squire s acquisitiveness for wealth and beauty, a quality that is contrary to the humble nature of the knight. The Squire had quot;locks as curly as if they had been pressed quot;, while there is no such description of the Knight s appearance whatsoever (5). I feel that Chaucer does not intend to criticize the Squire by the mention of the beauty of the Squire s hair in conjunction with the mention of the poor outfit of the Knight. Instead he attempts to point out that the Squire is the lesser of the two in terms of keeping to the code of chivalry. Regarding his articles of clothing, the Knight wore a fustian tunic, which was only somewhat bright and only sufficiently comfortable. This short season taught me the value of putting in the work when the work is there. Even with all the planning in the world sometimes things are going to end up differently than you expect. The fall of 2010 I would be heading back to Steamboat just as I did the two previous years with the same plan and savings. All though this particular winter was not cooperating as the previous seasons had. Everybody knows that betting on the weather is never a good idea and this particular year I had made the wrong bet. The locals kept reassuring me that this was the year of El NiГ±a which meant a tremendous amount of snow for the year, the only downside to this is that an El NiГ±a winter likes to show up to the party late. For me that meant my budget calculations would be off, while I had a job lined up at my previous place of employment it would not begin until the ski mountain was open. This meant I had to find a job and fast, I took the bus down to the local Wendy s and applied for a job. Luckily they were hiring and I got the job, I had found a way to pay the rent for the month. While I had a job lined up when winter finally
  • 42. Analysis of an Affair in Anton ChekhovВґs The Lady with the... Anna and Dmitri are two people with a strong desire to be together, but this is conflicted by reality. Their reality is that they are married to other people. The love that they share for one another represents the struggle that one may face wanting to break away from reality. Dmitri was a man who had been unfaithful to his wife quite often. Her imperfections seemed to be his only reasoning for this. Dmitri was most likely only in Yalta to look for a new woman to have an affair with. Considering this, being with Anna didn t bother him. He was introduced in the story as a rather selfish man who seemed to just have his way with Anna. He referred to women as an inferior race , due to his past experience. Anna, on the other hand, was new to the idea of being unfaithful to her husband. This scared her so even though she knew that she loved Dmitri, she convinced herself that it was not real love that they shared. Throughout the story, both Anna and Dmitri changed the way they felt about their lives. Dmitri seemed to have had a very superficial relationship with his wife, and this made him appreciate his relationship with Anna even more. Once he spots her, the scenery in the story begins to shape. It is full of beautiful colors and light. The more exciting his life became in Yalta with Anna, the more dull and uninteresting his life back home became. His thoughts portray to the reader that he believes Anna is the perfect contender for an affair. The author of the story, Chekov,
  • 43. Malcolm Gladwell Plagiarism Malcolm Gladwell wrote Sometheing Borrowed: Should a charge of plagiarism ruin your life in What the Dog Saw: And other Adventures. Gladwell s main point in his story is that plagiarism is unfair and dishonest. He then goes on to discuss the many facets of plagiarism; like melodies in songs and picnic tables. Gladwell wants people who are interested in the arts and humanities to read this because he pulls pieces of music, art and literature to use as examples since plagiarism is a key component in these areas. This is because people change up others work and make it into their own for the world to develop and grow. Malcolm Gladwell explains that when an idea goes public, people are allowed to copy it and make others work into a grander cause. Overall I think Gladwell was trying to focus on why ideas are plagiarized and their reasoning behind it, rather than just focusing on the fact that it was plagiarized. Gladwell starts off by introducing a psychiatrist by the name of Dorothy Lewis whose work and life had been amalgamated in a Broadway play called Frozen. Lewis s friends had continuously nagged her to go see the play, after a short few months she received a phone call from the theatre production of frozen asking her if she would do a talk back after the play. Before she accepted to do it she asked if she could read the script. After reading it she realized that Bryon Lavery not only took her work but violated her as well. At the time Lavery

In starting weeks, I get the overview of Indian power sector, understood the Indian power grid, functions of NLDC and many technical terms but later the project Short TermLoad Forecasting (STLF) using ANN Techniques was assigned to me. I have to forecast the load for Delhi using ANN Technique. Load forecasting is the technique for prediction of electrical load. It is much need for a generating company to know about the market load demand in a deregulated market for generating near to accurate power. If the generation is not sufficient to fulfill the demand, there would be problem of irregular supply and in case of excess generation the generating company will have to bear the loss. There are various factors which influence the behavior of the consumer load. These factors can be categorized as Time factor, weather, economy and random disturbances. Accurate forecasting can maximize the profit of producers and for consumers, it can maximize their utilities. STLF plays an important role in electric power system operation and planning. An accurate load forecasting not only reduces the generation cost in a power system, but also provides a good principle of effective operation. It is trained using back propagation algorithm and tested. The results obtained from neural network are presented and the results show that the neural network based
  • 45. The Parable Of The Rich Fool The chapter is 12 and the verses are 13 through 21. The parable is the one of The Rich Fool and his greed. The story is told by Jesus while he is in a gathering of thousands of people and a statement arises that allows him to preach on objects with only earthly value, as well as the greed of people towards those objects, and what we should do to fight that greed and please God(Hendrix, The Parables of Jesus, p. 96 ). Jesus tells us this parable in the form of the indirect question. This means that the question does not come from Jesus or one of the members of the crowd, but instead it is integrated into the character of the parable( Lecture notes, The Parables of Luke, April 12, 2016). So in the case of Luke 12: 13 21, the question is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He would rather keep all of his extra crops to himself instead of share them with others. This idea is struck down by Luke 12: 20 21. Because it states that if a man keeps his treasure for himself is a fool and will not be seen rich in god s eyes. God addresses the man as a fool , a man who lives without taking into account the existence of either God or fellow man, or a practice atheist (Hendrix, The Parables of Jesus, p. 103). This states that God is essentially calling out the the rich fool for not truly believing that there is a god, The fool says in his heart, there is no God (Hendrix, The Parables of Jesus, p. 103). A very interesting note from the Hendrix commentary is this, The folly of this man manifests itself specifically in the contrast between his plans devised to live an easy life for many years , and the fact that he is going to die this (very) night (emphatically place at the beginning of God s words). No man has the power to retain the spirit, or authority over the day of death (Eccl. 8:8). So here, this rich man who thinks that his euphoreo (many things) will produce euphrЕЌn (the good life), is in reality aphrЕЌn (without mind, spirit, and emotions). His formula for the good life is sheer stupidity
  • 46. The Enuma Elish Osiris The Middle East chapter in our mythology book contained the stories The Enuma elish, Osiris, Isis, and Horus, Telepinu, and Gilgamesh. Throughout these four stories, we learn how the Babylonian and Egyptian gods were created, and read about the adventures of other gods. The first story is The Enuma elish, and it was the Babylonian creation myth. In the beginning, there were two gods, Apsu was the ruler of the sweet waters, and Tiamat was the rulers of the salt waters. After a few generations of gods, Ea was born from Anu and Nintu. Ea was stronger than his father and his grandfather, so he became the god of the earth. After a while, the younger gods were starting to become annoying to the older gods, because they were being to rowdy. Apsu s idea to stop their behavior was to destroy all the younger gods, and once the younger gods heard the news they became very... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It doesn t follow the same storyline as The Enuma elish, like I was expecting it too. Instead it was about a goddess named Nut, and three gods named Re, Geb, and Thoth. These four gods had five children together, Osiris, Isis, Horus, Set, and Nephthys. Osiris became the king of Egypt, and created a Golden Age for them, but Set wanted to rule Egypt. So this story is about Set trying to become the king of Egypt. Telepinu was a story about the very angry god named Telepinu. This story was about the time that Telepinu got so angry that all crops and vegetation died, and humans feared that they would die of starvation. Throughout the story the great gods were searching for Telepinu, so that he could restore the crops and vegetation. The last story was Gilgamesh, and this was a story about a hero named Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh is a hero s journey to find immortality, because he doesn t want to die. He wants to be known forever. So he defeats Humbaba, and goes on a mission to find Utanapishtim who was a human, but now is
  • 47. Aestheticism In The Picture Of Dorian Gray The Picture of Dorian Grey In The Picture of Dorian Grey, Oscar Wilde, sets out to show the influence of aestheticism in late Victorian era. The philosophy of aestheticism was that art should be judged purely by its beauty and form rather than by any underlying moral message art for art s sake that art merely exist to be beautiful (Buzwell). In writing the preface of the novel Wilde writes, all art is quite useless. (Wilde 4) This statement is in contrast to the events that take place in the novel. The artwork reflects the evil actions of Dorian Grey and a myriad of characters are impacted by the influence the portrait has on its subject. As the novel begins Basil Hallward is in awe of Dorian Grey. It is apparent that Basil Hallward admires Dorian s physical beauty to excess. He paints the young handsome gentleman with enthusiasm. Basil s artistic expression creates a masterpiece. When first describing Dorian to Lord Henry, Basil describes how Dorian has become integral to his artistic expression, suggesting that Basil s interest consists most essentially in Dorian s physical beauty, since that can be represented in Basil s art. As Basil is finishing the portrait and once he is done, almost everything that he says to Dorian is flattery of Dorian s beauty. Dorian becomes in love with the painting and with his own beauty. He grew more and more enamoured of his own beauty, more and more interested in the corruption of his own soul. Basil is
  • 48. Self Observation Of A Self Throughout my self observation, I felt the need to start with a baseline of who I am. Being raised in the south I learned to respect myself and others, but sometimes people are just right down obnoxious. Also, I hold myself to high standards because there s no reason why I cannot make my goals a reality if I give it my all. This is known as Self Concept: The relatively stable set of perceptions you hold of yourself. (Page 63) For example, in my observationI notice my patience level is very thin for people who do not have respect for other s education. There s one girl in particular yesterday, who texted the whole class, which my nursing class is from 8:30am to 2pm. Therefore, as I m trying to listen and highlight in my book, only thing I hear is the sound of her long nails tapping on her keyboard or her phone vibrating. Than during break she wants to ask me for the notes, because the teacher was moving too fast. Since this is still the first couple of weeks of school, I try to be a little more understanding, but I will not do someone s work just for them not to pay attention. Therefore today, when the test came around I had studied my butt off and scored very well. But for the girl that sits next to me, she complained that the test was too hard and how we didn t have the appropriate information to study for the test. In that moment, I found myself comparing our differences, I work hard for my grades. I study and work my butt off then there s those people that don t do anything in class but are the first ones to complain. The book recognized this as Social Comparison: Evaluating ourselves in terms of how we compare with others. (Page 66) Throughout the rest of my day, I noticed I compare myself to a lot of different people without even noticing. Like when I was driving home I saw all these people texting and driving, and I just could not help thinking like what the heck, I can t even look to the side without going into the other line so how in the world are they texting! I do not compare myself to other to prove whose better but I believe it just natural to compare others to yourself. While at home, I observe the unreserved self more than while am at school where I trend to be a little reserved. I
