Green HRM – A way to greening the environmentiosrjce
IOSR Journal of Business and Management (IOSR-JBM) is a double blind peer reviewed International Journal that provides rapid publication (within a month) of articles in all areas of business and managemant and its applications. The journal welcomes publications of high quality papers on theoretical developments and practical applications inbusiness and management. Original research papers, state-of-the-art reviews, and high quality technical notes are invited for publications.
Green HRM is the use of HRM policies to promote the sustainable use of resources within organizational businesses and more generally promotes the cause of environmental sustainability. The range of these activities is perceived highly relevant and the range of possible green human resource interventions is much wider. There is an increasing growing need of integrating environment management system into Human Resource Management (HRM) i.e., Green HRM practices of how corporations can develop human resource policies for promoting environment management initiatives on the impacts of mining and industrialization. This paper examines the nature and implications of Green HRM initiatives and its practices towards environmental sustainability which could in turn benefit the livelihood of tribal people. An attempt is made to promote the importance of Green HRM and tries to link its implications on preserving the habitations of the tribal populated areas.
Sustainable Practices – Small Ways That Lead to Big Improvements & Cost Saving Wild Asia
Sustainability is important for all tourism businesses, rural and urban. There has never been a better time to act for the benefit of your business and the “bottom line”. In this clinic session, Ruben will speak about some basic systems and ways that businesses can adopt to reduce negative impacts on the environment, reduce utility bills and ultimately benefit the business on the long run. The presentation will focus on proven steps that businesses can take in order to reduce their environmental impact in an affordable and effective way.
With changing times, it is essential to focus more on making the corporate processes environment friendly. HRM is one such function that could be made paperless so that it not only helps the environment by saving trees but also increases the overall efficiency by shifting the focus to strategic initiatives rather than administrative tasks

Farming for Beneficial Insects (Pollinators, Predators, and Parasitoids), presented at the 2014 Southern Sustainable Agriculture Working Group conference in Mobile, AL, January 17 & 18, 2014. Pollinators (especially native bees) and other beneficial insects (that help control crop pests) are crucial to ensure healthy crop harvests. This session will help you understand habitat needs of pollinators, predators and parasitoids common in our region and ways you can support their conservation with habitat and farm management. Also learn where to access resources for bee and other insect identification, plant selection, and successful habitat establishment. A habitat assessment guide to evaluate your farm habitat and other resources are available from the Xerces Society at http://www.xerces.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/PollinatorHabitatAssessment.pdf . Dr. Jennifer Languell
The land planning process today is heavily regulated and complex. This session highlighted real life examples from three senior level executives who drew upon past experiences
and demonstrated how they turned adversity into opportunity by employing creative and environmentally sound land planning
techniques. The presentation provided the audience with environmental solutions that can be successfully applied to their own projects. The panel presented their challenges, reviewed
the methodology and application of their solutions and discussed lessons learned throughout the process.
Focused on the impact that local issues and stakeholders are going to have on the supply chain’s of many operating in China, I delivered the above presentation at the 2012 CHaINA conference in Shanghai.
Overarching goal of the presentation was to highlight opportunities for firms to strengthen current systems as well as understand/ plan for a future where the issues of environment, economy, and society increase pressure on both the top and bottom line of the firm.
In his public lecture, Christian Timmerer provides insights into the fascinating history of video streaming, starting from its humble beginnings before YouTube to the groundbreaking technologies that now dominate platforms like Netflix and ORF ON. Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
