What is a Green Job?

A Green Job is an occupation that
1) directly works with policies, information,
   materials, and/or technologies that
   contribute to minimizing environmental
   impact, and
2) requires specialized knowledge, skills,
    training, or experience in these areas.
What is a Green Business ?
A Green Business is:
 an organization that provides products
  and/or services that are aimed at utilizing
  resources more efficiently, providing
  renewable sources of energy, lowering
  greenhouse gas emissions, or otherwise
  minimizing environmental impact;
 maintains green practices within their
  business environment.

• Bank of America has reduced its paper use by 32% and
  recycles 30,000 tons of paper each year.

• Hewlett-Packard and Dell have adopted e-waste recycling
  programs that shred obsolete computer products, so the
  raw materials can be recycled.

• Starbucks uses coffee cup sleeves made of recycled paper,
  saving roughly 78,000 trees per year since 2006.

• Wal-Mart has launched a long-term plan to power all its
  stores with 100% renewable energy sources.

 • 75% of business establishments reported the use of
   at least one green technology or practice during the
   August 2011 survey reference period.
 The two most frequently reported types of green
 technologies and practices:
 • 57% of establishments were those that improve
   energy efficiency
 • 55% of establishments those that reduce the
   creation of waste materials as a result of operations
