Patricia Chujman's Senior 5 Language and Literature class will cover various writing styles, poetry analysis, and vocabulary over three trimesters. In the first trimester, students will write stories, essays and analyze Seamus Heaney's poetry. They will also read and analyze Part 1 and 2 of "A Passage to India" and study the full play "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?". The second trimester focuses on more poetry analysis, contrasting paragraphs, and vocabulary related to war and wealth. Students will continue writing and analyzing drama. In the final trimester, students will explore different writing styles, additional poetry, and write essays on themes of identity, culture, discrimination.
