Colegio Las Cumbres Senior 1 Literature class will cover the following key content areas in their 3 terms:
1) Introduction to literature and literary devices like theme, tone, and figures of speech applied to poetry and prose. Example works include poems "Pied Beauty" and "Pike" as well as the short story "Her First Ball".
2) Comparing and contrasting poems and prose using the literary terms from term 1. Works will include the poems "Hunting Snake" and "Horses" as well as the short story "The Destructors".
3) Analyzing poems and stories in essay format, with a focus on writing longer essays of 250-300 words
