I was excited going into see this production of Man of La Mancha. I did not really know anything
about it and since I saw it on opening night there was no time to get an ingoing expectation from

In researching classic country there are many themes that can be found in the performances. The
most common theme is almost every classic country artist had an acoustic guitar. They would use
this guitar as essentially the main melody for their songs which they would then add vocals on top

Focusing on immigration rights for people of Latin descent I chose La Casa de Amistad. This
organization founded in 1973 by Father John Phalen strives to create a grounded community in
South Bend. Due to their passion and consistent effort to bring forth opportunity and development
for the community it is no surprise that they have done well throughout the years in the vast
amount of services they offer. However what I shall be focusing on is their Immigration Legal
Services program and how it goes hand in hand with the Catholic Social Teachingprinciple of
participation.

That in itself and each person s contribution with drinks, food, and their eagerness to share
demonstrated that even before becoming citizens La Casa de Amistad had already created the
sense of community. Each time I go to see them I am always welcomed with opened arms and a
snack, and it creates a feeling of warmth within me. For seeing these vital pillars in our nation
strive to be recognized as fellow citizens for the toil and struggle that they go through day in and
day out to create a better nation is beautiful. They not only achieve that but they have a
community that cares and is supportive of them who wishes to see them have the ability to
finally get the chance to vote and have their voices recognized for they are part of our nation and
should be treated with dignity and respect. As I spoke with Nancy I was amazed at the results
that they have had with this program since it began ten years ago, for they have had a one
hundred percent pass rate of the naturalization exam, with over 400 people from 28 nations.
Based on the effectiveness I don t have anything to see in regards to criticisms for they have done
all to create a truly global community of individuals by giving them the resources needed to be
part of all spheres in our society. Their persistence to help each individual out of pure love for
