Use Of Savickas Career Construction Theory
The following case study will use Savickas Career Construction Theory. After finding himself
unemployed after 27 years experience working in a local coal mine, the client has decided to go
to school for some retraining; however, he does not know where to start. A brief history of the
client s case will be provided, along with an explanation of Savickas theory and some reasons why
the theory has been chosen for the case. Finally, two interventions will be suggested followed by a
description of how one of the interventions could be applied.
Paul s Case The case study includes the following information. Paul is a 45 year old man from
southern West Virginia who has been recently been laid off from his lifelong job in the coalmines.
At 18, he graduated from high school and immediately went to work in the coal mines. Because
of mine shutdowns or slowed production, he has experienced multiple layoffs. However, he
always was able to draw unemployment, which never lasted more than six months, at which time
he was always hired back at a nearby mine. Because of multiple mine shutdowns in the area, this
recent layoff has lasted for almost a year. Due to his wife s urging, Paul has enrolled in a local
community college, but has no idea what to major in, let alone what classes to take. He has come
to the career center at the community college hoping to get some direction in his career search.
Savickas Career Construction Theory will be used to help Paul get on the

The Nature Of Society In Sucker, By Carson Mccullers
In Sucker, by Carson McCullers, Society is presented as an evil force with malicious intent.
Society is the villain because of the enforced gender roles in the family, and also the gender roles
outside the family. The nature of Society s villainy allows the reader to understand the theme of
love being lost in search for more in the story by showing its effect on how it happens.
In Sucker, the idea of gender roles and stereotypes having an effect of platonic love and
relationships inside the family is easy to notice. This very malign pressure affects every member
of the household, from pressuring a young boy to become a father figure to a kid, to a mother not
being able to help raise said kid because the other children need help as well. ... Show more content

In the 60 s, for women the social standing of their significant other greatly impacted their lives.
This could be the reason she went out riding ... this yellow roadster. again showing the evil of
societal pressures women into behaving a certain way. In the 60 s a roadster was worth $5,870,
which now is roughly $48,205. This shows even more why she went with him. In the 60 s women
were not allowed to do most of the jobs they were doing during WWII when the men were gone,
most women were forced to live at home leeching off of their husbands money, hence why money
was a very attractive thing for men to have.
Society affects the theme of love being lost in the search of more by causing people to forget
what really matters. Society pushes people to think of the future before the present, romance
before platonic support. Society makes people talk about crushes and who likes who even if
they know it won t last forever. Women are raised to find their dream man, someone who will
support them financially and emotionally. Men are raised to be the dream man, be nice, have a
good job and time to have fun with their families. People commonly fall victim to the pressures
and look for romantic interests before they look at who loves them in a friendly way. When pete
says I never noticed him or thought of him it shows he finally understands what he lost but it was
too late. Society influences Pete to try and love the girl before his own family. This is something

Nearly five thousand years back flourished India s first major civilisation along the Indus River
valley. The twin cities of Mohenjodaro and Harappa now in Pakistan were ruled by priests and
held the rudiments of Hinduism. These civilisations are known to possess a sophisticated lifestyle,
a highly developed sense of aesthetics, an astonishing knowledge of town planning and an
undecipherable script language. The Indus civilization at one point of time extended nearly a
million square kilometres across the Indus river valley. It existed at the same time as the ancient
civilizations of Egypt and Sumer but far outlasted them. Surviving for nearly a thousand years the
Indus valley civilisation fell to tectonic upheavals in about 1700 BC, which caused a series of
floods.
The coming of the Aryans around 1500 BC, gave the final blow to the collapsing Indus Valley
civilisation. At the dawn of Vedic ages the Aryans came in from the North and spread through large
parts of India bringing with them their culture and religious beliefs. The Four Vedas or the
important books of Hinduism were compiled in this period.
In 567 B.C. the founder of the Buddhist Religion Gautama Buddha was born. During this time lived

Symptoms And Treatments Of A Stroke
According to the Center of Disease Control Stroke is a leading cause of death in the United
States, killing nearly 130,000 Americans each year that s 1 of every 20 deaths. America s
population is around 320 million according to government census. The statistics of 130,000 may
not seem like a lot compared to America s population, but clearly it is a significant amount. This
statistic only counts the strokevictims that die, but many stroke victims survive with few as well
as major issues leading to a compromised life after. So what is a stroke? A stroke also known as
Cerebrovascular accident (CVA) happens when there is a loss of blood supply to the brain. In
the following we will be looking at the history of the disease, suspected causes, symptoms and
treatments. Before we go into the history of a stroke take some time to look at the population
chart in the back (pg. 8 image. 1) to see where strokes occur most. As you can see, the chart
shows statistics of where strokes occur most and least around the U.S. and the number varies per
100,000 in the U.S. At this time there is no correlation between location and stroke numbers.
Though by looking at the Stroke Death Rates around the country clearly wherever you live there
is no place or person that is immune from the possibility of getting a stroke. So what is a stroke?

Pros And Cons Of Grand Jury
In America s justice system, a grand jury is a group of citizens called to decide whether probable
cause exists to believe that a suspect committed the crime with which she or he has been charged
(Gaines G 4). In the Central District of California, prospective jurors who report and are not
excused or postponed, the JuryClerk will use a computer program to randomly select 23 members
and ten alternates for each grand jury. A grand jury designated investigatory meet for a 12 month
term, while a grand jury designated accusatory meets for a 6 month term. A grand jury has 23
members and meets once a week, always on the same weekday. Grand juries do not meet on
weekends or Mondays. The average workday is 5 hours. Absences for medical appointments,
vacations, graduations, etc. may be accommodated, but 16 members must be present for the grand
jury to conduct business. The grand jury serves the United States District Court, Central District of
California. In contrast, a trial jury is asked to reach a verdict based on the evidence presented
during a civil or criminal trial; a grand jury meets in secret to consider whether there is sufficient
evidence to justify a formal criminal charge against someone. That formal criminal charge is called
an indictment(Central).
San Bernardino County grand jury plays a distinctively different role in the judicial system. It is
composed of 19 persons (or 23 in counties with over 4 million residents) selected from a group of

Watching Pollan s Series Documentary
INTRODUCTION
I selected to watch Pollan s series documentary instead of his book due to my difficulties in
reading and being a visual learner. I am grateful to Pollen for being able to see his story as the
documentary. This allowed a visual and hearing experience with the professionals he spoke with
within their environment along with demonstrations of what they were talking about. It was an
experience to join the people from the countries he visited in their homes/work and to learn what
he was taught. This video brings more meaning and life into his story than just words on a page.
AUTHOR
Michael Pollan is an American author, journalist, activist, and professor of journalism at the UC
Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. For the last 25 years he has written about nature and
culture and their intersection in what we put on our plates, what is in our farms/gardens and in
the environment we have built. In 2010, he was named in TIME s 100 Most Influential People,
and received a few other awards. He does not seem to have a formal education in nutrition,
however, based off this documentary he completes thorough research through speaking with
professionals, specialists and highly regarded (in this case) makers as well as people who live in
the communities he is reporting about.
STORY
Pollen speaks about how America consumes more processed food than any other country and is
very quickly losing its roots and knowledge of natural food and home cooking with its ability to

Persuasive Essay On Surfing In Australia
Surf s Up, Mate!
Australia has long been known to have the best surf beaches in the world; mostly owing it to the
fact that open ocean waters, such as the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, and the Southern Ocean, are
surrounding it. Besides the picturesque view from different sides of the land area itself,
professional surfers do think highly of the waves quality these coastlines offer. The country s water
area has been said to give off the biggest swells, making it a destination for most surfing contests.
But more than just a water sport, surfing in Australia is almost a way of life because of how
people appreciate what their country has to offer; professional or not, surfing can easily be a good

Beach located along the south coast. This particular beach is considered to embody the sport of

around the east coast, it would be good to visit the Kirra Point and Burleigh Heads Beach . The
former is deemed to produce unforgivable swells, perfect for experienced surfers but worrisome

coast of the country, specifically towards the direction of Perth. In this area, you can easily find
the Scarborough Beach that boasts one of the most pleasant coastlines to look at. This allows any

Self Portrait on the Border Line between Mexico and the United States Reflection

development of modern art in Mexico and the social, political, and cultural forces that shaped it
over the course of nearly half a century (MFA Houston), mainly images depicted of the Mexican
Revolution from the eyes of artists during this time period. This monumental revolution
transformed Mexico.
In 1932, through use of oil on metal, Frida Kahlo paints herself as many other Mexican citizens
after the revolution in Self Portrait on the Border Line between Mexico and the United States. In
the image, the sun and moon only stand over Mexico, which Kahlo is telling us where her heart

one hand and Mexican flag in the other that she stands true to her feminist mind and Mexican
culture. Kahlo stands on a cement block reading Carmen Rivera painted her picture in 1932

Anterior Cruciate Ligar Research Paper
Mrs. Bacon
English 1301
29 October 2015
Anterior Cruciate Ligament Tears Injuries occur everyday is the sport s world; they range
anywhere from a sprained ankle to paralysis. In many sports, such as volleyball or basketball, the
injuries that occur usually happen to the lower half of the body. Over the years, certain injuries
have become more common, such as ACL injuries. A torn ACL is not only one of the most
common seen injuries in the sports world, but it is also very easy to diagnose; however, it is a
long road back to recovery. Out of the many ligaments, muscles, and tendons in the knee, the ACL
is the most common to injure. The ACL, or anterior cruciate ligament, is a vital ligamentous
stabilizer of the knee that resists anterior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next step, if one chooses, is surgery and recovery. To repair the ligament, most surgeons will
take part of another tendon, which has similar tissue to a ligament, in the leg and pull it through
a tunnel that is drilled through the tibia into the femur ( ACL Tears and Reconstruction ). After
surgery, a patient usually begins physical therapy three to four days after the procedure. Physical
therapy helps strengthen the muscles, tendons, and ligaments in the knee that were affected by
the accident. In order to get back to normal as soon as possible, a patient needs to attend physical
therapy two or three times a week for about ten weeks. After that time is up, depending on the
progress of the patient, the therapist will reduce the appointments to once a week. As the patient
continues to strengthen and progress, he or she will be allowed to start performing more
advanced things. For example, most patients will have to start doing ten minute jogs to
gradually get the knee used to impact again. A full recovery usually takes about six or seven
months, for athletes coming back to sports. This process of time may be lengthened depending
on the patient. Athletes who try to return early are at an extremely high risk of tearing the ACL
again. Full recovery for an athlete can include, being able to play with contact or jump and dive.
Although a patient is released to play his or her sport again, that does not mean the patients knee
is completely back to normal again. For instance, the athlete will need to a wear a knee brace for
any type of physical activity for at least a year after returning back to

An Analysis of “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good
Night”
An analysis of Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night This poem was written by Dylan Thomas
who had been acknowledged as one of the most important Welsh poets of the 20th century. The
poem is a son s plea to his dying father. Thomas shows four different kinds of people in four
stanzas wise men, good men, wild men and grave men so as to encourage his father to fight
against death rather than to accept in silence. The tone used in the poem is passionate and
intense. Rage, rage against the dying of the light (line 3) is an attitude the old is supposed to hold.
Old age should burn and rave at close of day (line 2) is exactly the theme that the poet wants to
pass on. Though wise men at their end know dark... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors (line 14) This is a metaphor that means grave men never
distinguish their hope and always hold a passionate attitude towards life. A disabled person still
can fight against the doom. Why healthy people give in to death? In the last stanza, the poet
points out that this poem is particularly written for his dying father. Curse, bless, me now with
your fierce tears, I pray. (line 17) In this sentence, curse , bless , fierce and tears all have the
rhyme s which makes the tone soft sounding. Thomas begs his father to die with anger, not
humility. Whatever the ways, the curse or bless, the poet can bear it so long as his father not
surrender to death. This poem is structured in a form called villanelle, which has 19 lines long,
but only uses two rhymes. In this poem, night , light , right , bright , flight , sight and sight all
end with t sound and day , they , bay , way , gay and pray all end with ei sound. The rhythm of this
poem follows as aba, aba, aba, aba, aba, abaa . Moreover, it is clear to see that first five stanzas are
triples and last stanza is a quatrain, which is also another standard of villanelle. There are two
refrains in the poem. Do not go gentle into that good night. (line 1) is repeated in line 6, line 12
and line 18. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. (line 3)is repeated in line 9, line 15 and line

Screen s Influence On American Culture
American Culture and the Screen s Influence
During the 1920s, movies grew in popularity in the United States due to their affordability and
availability. This led to a general curiosity about the actors lives themselves and gave Hollywood a
harsh reputation due to all of the scandals that occurred. In the 1950s, movies declined in their
popularity and the American public turned their attention toward television. As a result, television
became an American staple and TV shows were more convenient than movies, seeing as they could
be watched without leaving the house. Now Americans can watch both movies and TV shows at
home via DVDs, and are still interested in the personal affairs of the actors and actresses involved.

During the 1920s, the general public associated Hollywood with immorality. There were scandals
like William Desmond Taylor s and Virginia Rappe s murders. Although the two cases were not
related, many people correlated the two and other crimes within the industry. Despite this, many
Americans found themselves enraptured by the lives the actors led, the more dangerous, the more
interesting. Charlie Chaplin, a comedic actor and director, was stopped on the street constantly by
rabid fans begging for autographs. Now, most actors have or will have these issues once they
reach a certain height of fame. Charlie Chaplin was also one of the many actors accused of
being a communist during the Second Red Scare. Actors were publicized so frequently and
tended to be more liberal than the average person, so they made easy targets for the CIA during
this period. Some of the trials could be watched on TV, which also led to Americans questioning
their favorite actors political beliefs in order to be more like them, or just out of general curiosity.
Actors deaths were also seen as American tragedies. James Dean died in 1956 and Americans took
it very personally, calling him a personification of alienated American youth. He represented how
teenager s values differed from their parents throughout the 1950s but did not necessarily shape an

The Fence Between Bonnie And Amanda s Property

property include: i) Conventional boundaries: Does the fence between Bonnie and Amanda s house
constitute a conventional boundary? ii) Improvements by Mistake of Title: Whether the
improvements made by Bonnie constitute an entitlement to the land.
i)Conventional Boundaries
In circumstances where the true location of a boundary is unascertainable, the conventional line

In fact, the previous Kardashian owners assumed that the fence was an accurate indication of the
property line, which they thought was located directly between the houses and therefore never
attempted to ascertain the actual location of the boundary. If the uncertainty of the boundary was
never acknowledged, the principles found in Bea v. Robinson finds that a conventional boundary
could not be existing because was no attempt to ascertain the actual boundary. Bea v. Robinson
states that this attempt is a mandatory element in the foundation of a conventional boundary. Even
in the presence of strong evidence that the boundary was agreed upon and treated as a boundary, it
seems likely that the test for conventional boundaries must fail in consideration of the fact that the
surveyor Amanda hired was able to ascertain the true boundaries which were not consistent with
that of the fence. If the doctrine of conventional lines fails, the foundational principle (lecture) of
estoppel provides no security for Bonnie in the reliance on the boundary to build. ii) Improvements

provides an equitable remedy when individuals have invested in lasting improvements to the land.

Goal Setting Is An Best Way For Students With Track And...
Goal setting is an excellent way for students to track and improve upon physical fitness levels.
The importance of being able to set goals and to try to achieve them is that each individual
student can assess where they are and set goals to improve. Not all students can achieve the same
fitness standards. Some students are born with more muscle mass or more fast twitch muscle
fibers than other students. Some students have asthma or other physical difficulties that make it
difficult to measure up with other students when all students are required to get a certain score on
a fitness test to get an A. Using goal setting where all students can be successful by reaching their
goals and showing improvement could be a positive influence for future motivation. While
problem based learning can help students to learn and use goal setting (Hubball 2006), goal
setting may not always help students to achieve greater fitness levels. Hill (2015) found that those
students who set goals over an 18 week period did not have any significant improvement over those
students that did not set goals on the pacer and push up tests. Similarly, in another study looking at
the effects of goal setting on Native elders found only a weak correlation between goal setting and
improvement on the amount of steps taken in a day using a pedometer (Sawchuck 2011). The
problem with this study was that the researchers set the goals for the participants. It may be more

How Much Power and Liberty Did the Constitution Give to...
How much power and liberty did the constitution give to the people? The constitution is the
document that has framed and shaped the United States from inception. It is the document that is
defended by all new presidents and also the document which affords the citizens of the United
States freedoms and rights that cannot be removed. In its drafting it shaped the formation of a
new country and a new style of governance. It is a В‘bottom up as opposed to established ways of
government which are В‘top down . However for all its virtues the Constitution is somewhat
ambiguous and there is some debate of the intent of the drafters, did they intend to give as much
power or did they intend to give less power to the people? The Constitution... Show more content on

The Electoral College is devised as to proportion the votes to the population of the states. So the
number of electors for each state is the number of house representatives and senators combined.
Therefore New York currently has 31 House representatives and 2 senators, so it has 33 electors
for the Electoral College. When Americans are voting for a President they are actually voting for
a board of electors who then vote for the president. But these electors don t have to follow what
the majority of people in that state voted for; they can if they so wish vote for another candidate.
This has happened on some occasions in the 1948 presidential election one of Tennessee s
electors voted for J. Strom Thurmond instead of voting for Harry Truman. This shows a blatant
disregard for democratic principles, as the drafters of the constitution did not want a direct link
between voters and the presidency. They did not believe that ordinary people could make
sophisticated and intelligent decisions. It shows that they had a healthy interest in their own self
interest, perhaps following the maxim of Thomas Gordon Whatever is good for the people is bad
for their governors . In theory this could still happen in modern America, as the board of electors
do not have to follow what the voters say in the election. This shows to me an evident democratic
deficit. There is not just a deficit in Congress or in the Presidency, but also in the State legislatures
that is set

Online Gaming and Fraud in Massive Multiplayer Online...
1. Online Gaming Security and Fraud Throughout the evolution of gaming, there has been a
movement of large communities to online gaming. With that high amount of traffic, these online
games have become prime targets for crime to emerge from. Due to the online nature and virtual
elements of this kind of community, the most common type of crime committed was theft,
followed closely by fraud (Chen 2005). With the increase in online communities from online
gaming, businesses have started advertising both to these markets and through them. This has
opened up not only the online communities to the threat of fraud, but also those businesses and
their competitors. This paper will focus primarily on the Massive Multiplayer Online Role
Playing Game (MMORPG) community, and the ways that fraud is committed in that type of
gaming. 2.1 Fraud in MMORPGs Fraud has been influencing MMORPGs and online gaming for
years. The world of online has moved from being a software license industry to an uplink time
payment model due to illegal sharing and software copying (Chen 2005). With the move to
subscription based gameplay, in game items now have a monetary value due to the growth of
economies that trade the virtual game money or items for real world currency (Chen 2005).
Throughout the MMORPGs there has been a trend of criminals targeting the users of these online
games for purposes of theft and fraud, especially when it comes to the in game currencies and
identities. According to a study

Baseball Memoir
I have loved baseball for years, but by the time I was a freshman at Laurel High School, I had
precious little experience. The chances of me playing baseball in most high schools were slim, but
this was Laurel. America s favorite pastime was treated there as a vestige of years long forgotten.
The athletic director ignored us, the students didn t support us, and the school funded us just
enough to say that they had a baseballprogram. Tucked away in a forgotten corner of the campus
in the gloomy shadows of the tower from which football games were announced, the baseball
diamond was the school s disgrace. The dugouts were dismal cinder block bunkers with peeling
paint and a propensity to flood. Grass was scarce where it was supposed to be and... Show more

In the spring of my freshman year I tried out for and made the JV squad. My first season was
painful. I finished with no hits, having spent most innings on the bench. I knew I would never play
if I did not improve my hitting.
The problem I had was that there was no place to practice. The batting cage was a chest high
jungle of weeds imprisoned by chain link fence. The school saw no point in restoring it, and
everyone clearly understood the message that baseball and its players just weren t worth the effort.
Everyone, that is, except for me and a handful of my teammates. We would not let them determine
our worth.
One summer s day in 2014, I borrowed my neighbor s lawn mower and met my teammates at the
batting cage. I began mowing down the weeds, while they raked. Others restretched the netting
back across the top of the cage. By the time the afternoon came we had a batting cage and a real
sense of pride. From that day forward, we began practicing every day, year round. We talked
baseball, walked baseball, lived and breathed the stuff. We shared our equipment and made do with
what we had. We turned ourselves from a rag tag bunch of misfits into a

Should Hospitals Test Pregnant Women for Drug Use Without...
Should hospitals test pregnant women for drug use without their consent?
Hospitals, during their normal course of treatment should test pregnant women for drugs of any
type, whether legal or not. Of course, the patient should be informed of such testing, but consent
should not be required. Findings of illegal drugs should be used to educate and treat the mother for
an addiction rather than informing law enforcement of such an activity.
Hospitals are in the business of treating people s ailments and promoting health. Reporting of illegal
drug use should be left to law enforcement. An exception to the rule is if the illegal activity is

This is why hospitals must use drug abuse information gained by testing to educate and treat the
addiction. The good that such education and treatment not only benefits mother and child but
ripples throughout the entire community and economy.
Hospitals also have a duty and obligation to protect the mother s right to privacy. Releasing medical
and treatment information without their consent is a violation of HIPAA, Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act, and of the Privacy Rule that protects mother s personal health
information from being disclosed, again without consent. Hospitals are to be in compliance of the
law but not to enforce it. That should be left to law enforcement to handle. Disclosure to law
enforcement without consent may also be a violation of the mother s 4th Amendment right, the
right against unreasonable search and seizure. Again, the mother has the right to privacy; to be
secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures ... ,
in this case, their medical information and treatment.
Speaking of law enforcement, law enforcement may prosecute the mother of a crime that has not
been directly witnessed. Use of illegal drugs is not being condoned, but law enforcement must have
first hand knowledge of it to act. Prosecution may serve as a disservice as well. Imprisonment and
punishment only

Analysis Of The Jamestown Fiasco
The overpopulated lands of England had gotten word of a Italian man, sailing under the Spanish
crown had discovered land across a rather devoid sea! England knew there was catching up to do
and after a previous failure at Roanoke island the Brits were determined to succeed! Though despite
their high spirits, the New World was harsh and unforgiving, which made the new colony of
Jamestown anything but a success. With countless raids by Native American tribes and the
continuing starvation of the colony, Harvard graduate, author, and United States historian, Edmund
Morgan elaborates on the failure of Jamestown within his work titled The Jamestown Fiasco . The
Englishman s encounters with the Native Americans were almost never mutual or positive. The
first encounter with the people of the new world was a defeat at best, the Native Americans drove
the Englishmen back upon the ships they had come from, but the English were determined that they
would be here to stay. They moved farther down the James River and found a suitable location for
settlement. Through poor leadership, however, brought the true demise of the possible friendly
relations between the Natives and English unlike their French counterparts further north. Innocent
Native Americans coming into Jamestown with food and gifts were often treated like spies and
taken hostage by the colonists. This understandably gave the natives of the region a common goal, it
was the English versus them. Though the first encounter

Borowski s This Way For The Gas, Ladies And Gentlemen
When read for the first time, This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen could complicate the
true meaning behind the ironic story and the minutiae used by Borowski to portray his
experiences at the concentration camp in Auschwitz. The first chapter of this novel displays how
survival and death have a close relationship, as well as how the political hierarchy is subdued to
the events befalling. With a lack of morality the narrator becomes a key constituent to the
facilitator s efforts, that is the persecution of the Jews and anyone deemed worthy of death. The
overturn of values of Tedeusz reflects on how the civilization as a whole is in a sense suffocated
by Nazi control. Not only is it essential to endure these issues in order to survive,

Disadvantages Of Salt
Salt is very important in life because without it, every human will be left off with tasteless food.
This essay is going to focus on what is salt, where the salt came from, the benefit and
disadvantage of salt, the reason why humans need salt, why is salt important, how much salt a
person should take, what happens if a person take a small and a big amount of salt amount of salt.
Lastly it will focus on what has been the value of salt down through history, the way how people
view salt now and in the past and the reason why the value of salt has changed. Salt is white
crystalline substance that consists of sodiumand chlorine (Merriam). Salt has been around for
many years now. According to Karen Carr from the article History of salt, salt comes from
northern China, where people seem to have been harvesting salt from a Salt Lake, Lake
Yuncheng, by 6000 BC (Carr). Salt has their benefits and disadvantages. The benefits of salt are
that it put flavors in the food that we eat. Also, it maintain the proper stomach pH. and it improves
sleep qualities (Geertsen, Wodehouse). The disadvantages of salt are that it could be very bad for
people s health because it could lead to high blood pressure (Fleck). The human body is formed of

Lord Rama
Lord Rama also known as Sri Ramchandra (Moon Like Gentle Rama), Paraga (uplifted Of the
Poor) and many more is the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu (one of the trinity god, the

beautifully portrayed.
Lord Rama took birth to free the world from cruelty and sins of the demon King Ravana, the King
of Lanka. Rama was the first son king Dashratha, the king of Ayodhya. Her mother was named
Kausilya. He had three brothers: Bharata (son of the second queen Kaikeyi), Laxshmana and

Online Classes Vs. Traditional Classes Essay
Technology is changing every aspect in our lives, even the way we learn. Online classes are a
rapidly growing trend it today s society. Online classes are a cost effective substitute for
traditional courses and more convenient for many, so more schools and universities are offering
this option. Due to the increase in online course enrollment, people are questioning if students truly
learn something from online classes because it s not a traditional learning environment. Online
classes are just, if not more, effective as traditional classes because grades have increased and
online discussions provide students with the chance to interact through networking while earning a
degree for less than what it would cost to enroll at the same university. Technology is evolving
and now offers people opportunities that weren t possible before. One new opportunity that
technology has to offer is online classes. Online courses are courses that are offered strictly over
the internet. With online classes, assignments and lectures are communicated through an online
website. Face to face (f2f) classes, also called, traditional classes are classes that take place in a
classroom with a teacher interacting with his students. Dr. Steven Stack, a science research author
and professor, states that the number of students enrolled in at least one online course increased
from 1,602,970 in 2002 to 6,714,792 in 2011. With an increasing number of students enrolling in

Asian American Actors In Modern Media Deal With Whitewashed
Asian American actors in modern media deal with whitewashed film and television,
underrepresentation in major works, and casting in stereotypical roles. These three problems are
rooted in the history of Asian American actors in film and television, and have been perpetrated by
stereotypes that continue to this day. The purpose of this memo is to examine the modern industry

As economic and political tensions faded, a new stereotype replaced Yellow Peril in film and
television. This stereotype, known as the model minority, is believed to have come around in the
1960s during the civil rights movement as an attempt to create resentment and tension within
America s minority groups (Huh 13).
The model minority stereotype characterized Asian Americans as immigrants that valued hard
work, family, and determination (Mok 192). This appears to be a positive stereotype that
exemplifies the values of the American Dream; however, academic scholars like Teresa Mok
disagree. Mok argues that the model minority stereotype emphasizes the similarities of Asian
Americans and white Americans. In this sense, the model minority might be seen as assimilating to
American culture by acting whiter (Mok 193). This stereotype was most notably seen in the first all
Asian musical, Flower Drum Song. The plot exacerbated the idea of the model minority, centering
the story around the benefits of assimilation in lieu of keeping with traditional ways. (Mok 193).
One of the most controversial stereotypes was yellowface. White American actors often donned
yellowface to portray Asian characters: one notable example is that of Mickey Rooney in
Breakfast at Tiffany s. Rooney s performance was characterized by taped eyes, fake teeth, and
painted skin (Huh 21). These characteristics meant to capitalize on the race of the character: by

Racism and the Enslavement of African Americans
Did Racism cause enslavement of African Americans? To answer this question you have to
determine what a slave is? And what Racism is? By my views and believes, slavery is any type of
duty somebody does for you. You own them so they work for you otherwise they will get punished.
Now Racism is a negative attitude towards another race. After these to words are cleared up you
come to a conclusion that racism in the 17th century caused enslavement of African Americans. To
believe this you have to look at the history left for us to read. The court papers, and journals of
people back in the 17th century.

John Punch was one the three servants working for a farmer and ran away to Maryland. Two
were white; one was black. They were captured in Maryland and returned to Jamestown, where
the court sentenced all three to thirty lashes. This was considered a severe punishment even by
the standards of 17th century. The two white men were sentenced to an additional four years of
servitude. The strong punishment for whites, but in addition to the whipping, the black man
John Punch was ordered to serve his master or his assigns for the time of his natural Life here or
elsewhere. (C Degler pg 65) Because he was a different color John Punch no longer had hope for
freedom. Why, because he was African and was braking the law of the land at the time. The
grounds for this harsh sentence presumably lay in the fact that he was non Christian rather than in
the fact that he was physically dark. But religious beliefs could change, while skin color could not.
Within a generation race, religion was not being made the defining characteristic of enslaved
Africans. Because the defining characteristics of Africans it lead to the terrible transformation to
racial slavery.
What were needed in Jamestown were laborers. Or what we call slaves to clear fields, to plant
and harvest crops. During the 1620s and 1630s, when the price of tobacco was high and English
workers had too few jobs available at home, Jamestown offered jobs to the few English workers

attempts to escape from the them. Tom is coffined in a cheerless life style which he tries to avoid
through the exploitations of unrealistic or broken getaways. As the only man remaining in their
family, Tom works to sustain his mother and sister, therefore leaving him with no single thing in

In the beginning of the play, Laura sees herself as crippled and not expecting any gentlemen
callers, for she is extremely shy and unconfident. Furthermore, she embodies her collection of
glass menagerie, for when Tom hurls his coat across the room It strikes against the shelf of
Laura s glass collection... [and] Laura cries out as if wounded. Laura s action in this scene
symbolizes her frailness and how she is a piece of the glass menagerie. Being part of the glass
collection, Laura is confined to the shelf which the collection is on. This metaphorical
representation of Laura depicts how she prefers to stay inside rather than going out into the
world and becoming truly independent. Nonetheless, when Jim, the ticket to break out of this
confinement, arrives, there is a shift in Laura s character. As Jim talks to Laura, her shyness is
dissolving in his warmth. Moreover, the unicorn piece which is symbolic of Laura and was
once addressed as lonesome loses its horn in an accident. When its horn is gone, Laura states,
The horn was removed to make him feel less freakish! Now he will feel more at home with the
other horses, the ones who don t have horns. (Scene 7:6 9) Laura has lost her metaphorical horn
and therefore she fits in with the rest of the world. For once in her life, Laura feels normal and
her shell is broken as she dances and engages with Jim. However, Laura s escape is not complete
liberation, for even though Laura has liking towards Jim, the so thought gentleman caller, Jim
is engaged and has a fiance. This shows that Laura and her family will not truly escape from
their setbacks even if a glance of hope, such as Jim, arrives for a moment in their lives. Therefore,
at the end of the play, Laura s silliness is gone and she has dignity and tragic beauty for glass
breaks so easily. No matter how careful you

Ductus Arteriosus
This paper will critique research and literatures about the use of paracetamol in treating Patent
Ductus Arteriosus.
Background
In the foetal circulation, the primary role of the ductus arteriosus (DA) is to divert the ventricular
output away from the lungs towards the placenta in utero by its connection between the pulmonary
artery and the descending aorta. The patency of the ductus is mainly regulated by low oxygen
tension present in the foetal lung and prostaglandin, which is known for its vasodilating effect in
the placental circulation. Prostaglandin levels are usually high as a result of placental production
and low clearance ability of the foetal lung (Gardner, Carter, Enzman Hines, Hernandez,2016).
The DA closure is essential for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Daily cardiac ultrasounds were done from the first day to the last dose of treatment. During the
course of treatment, the duct was observed to close at a faster rate in the paracetamol group
(p=0.016). A high confidence interval of 95% with a mean of 177 hours ductal closure for
paracetamol treated group while confidence interval of the controlled group was 388 hours
(p=0.045). The therapeutic serum range of paracetamol was also measured with no evidence of
adverse effect (Harkin, Harma, Aikio, Valkama, Leskinen, Saarela,

Last Summer Travi $ Scott
Last summer Travi$ Scott released Days Before Rodeo, a free mixtape that wouldn t just serve as
the unofficial countdown for his debut album, but give listeners a sense of what the rapper
/producer is working with sonically. Pounding, acerbic drums, thick, hazy atmospheres, and a
confrontational predisposition would establish Scott as a fearless rising star in rap music. And
although the tape was a welcome shift from the amateurish shlock that plagued his debut tape Owl
Pharaoh, it also did very little to invite the listener into Scott s world. Even if Scott had trouble
lining up his greatest attributes, his talent was certainly evident. His production choices, which
have been carefully excavated from the post 808s Heartbreakmusical landscape and Atlanta s grab
bag of innovations, can be intriguing, and his rebellious posturing certainly strikes a chord with a
certain angsty personality type. Those rare moments when he finds the right balance Basement
Freestyle is perhaps the best example can add up to something quite uncanny. With the clock no
longer ticking, Scott returns with Rodeo, an album that looks to position the 21 year old as a
curator of supreme taste, as well darken his already moody blues. At fourteen tracks Rodeo presents
blockbuster names (Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd), noteworthy rap
talent (Chief Keef, Future, Swae Lee, Quavo, Young Thug), and in demand producers (Metro
Boomin, Southside, TM88, Zaytoven, FKi, WondaGurl).

The World s Image Of God
So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he
created them. God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply...
Together men and women were meant to bring life, and subdue the earth, ordering their
environment. From the beginning God asked mankind to make a good home from what he
provided and mandated that man and woman do so together. Man was meant to be a keeper, while
the woman was to be a helper. When the woman enriches life on earth with the help she offers man,
and man works to subdue earth in order to provide a living space supportive of the life of woman
and child, earth becomes a home. Rather than a wild, untamed environment, creation becomes a
place centered around human beings, with man and woman at its apex. Without the woman, the
environment becomes wild and untamed, without her it s just man and the animals.
Then the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as
his partner.
In a very raw sense the woman does foster the preservation of life, but she was meant for more.
She was meant to bring a fruitful and enriching aspect to life. Preservation suggests that there is a
negative force encroaching on life, it s being lived to the fullest. However, God gave man women
in a time of peace before the first death had occurred. In an optimum environment where life is
fostered, woman is enabled to not only foster its preservation, but the enrichment of

Society is the villain because of the enforced gender roles in the family, and also the gender roles outside the family. The nature of Society s villainy allows the reader to understand the theme of love being lost in search for more in the story by showing its effect on how it happens. In Sucker, the idea of gender roles and stereotypes having an effect of platonic love and relationships inside the family is easy to notice. For example, most patients will have to start doing ten minute jogs to gradually get the knee used to impact again. A full recovery usually takes about six or seven months, for athletes coming back to sports. This process of time may be lengthened depending on the patient. Athletes who try to return early are at an extremely high risk of tearing the ACL again. Full recovery for an athlete can include, being able to play with contact or jump and dive. However for all its virtues the Constitution is somewhat ambiguous and there is some debate of the intent of the drafters, did they intend to give as much power or did they intend to give less power to the people? The Constitution... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Electoral College is devised as to proportion the votes to the population of the states. So the number of electors for each state is the number of house representatives and senators combined. Therefore New York currently has 31 House representatives and 2 senators, so it has 33 electors for the Electoral College. When Americans are voting for a President they are actually voting for a board of electors who then vote for the president. But these electors don t have to follow what the majority of people in that state voted for; they can if they so wish vote for another candidate. This has happened on some occasions in the 1948 presidential election one of Tennessee s electors voted for J. Strom Thurmond instead of voting for Harry Truman. This shows a blatant disregard for democratic principles, as the drafters of the constitution did not want a direct link between voters and the presidency. They did not believe that ordinary people could make sophisticated and intelligent decisions. It shows that they had a healthy interest in their own self interest, perhaps following the maxim of Thomas Gordon Whatever is good for the people is bad for their governors . In theory this could still happen in modern America, as the board of electors do not have to follow what the voters say in the election. This shows to me an evident democratic deficit. There is not just a deficit in Congress or in the Presidency, but also in the State legislatures that is set ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. Online Gaming and Fraud in Massive Multiplayer Online... 1. Online Gaming Security and Fraud Throughout the evolution of gaming, there has been a movement of large communities to online gaming. With that high amount of traffic, these online games have become prime targets for crime to emerge from. Due to the online nature and virtual elements of this kind of community, the most common type of crime committed was theft, followed closely by fraud (Chen 2005). With the increase in online communities from online gaming, businesses have started advertising both to these markets and through them. This has opened up not only the online communities to the threat of fraud, but also those businesses and their competitors. This paper will focus primarily on the Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) community, and the ways that fraud is committed in that type of gaming. 2.1 Fraud in MMORPGs Fraud has been influencing MMORPGs and online gaming for years. The world of online has moved from being a software license industry to an uplink time payment model due to illegal sharing and software copying (Chen 2005). With the move to subscription based gameplay, in game items now have a monetary value due to the growth of economies that trade the virtual game money or items for real world currency (Chen 2005). The chances of me playing baseball in most high schools were slim, but this was Laurel. America s favorite pastime was treated there as a vestige of years long forgotten. The athletic director ignored us, the students didn t support us, and the school funded us just enough to say that they had a baseballprogram. Tucked away in a forgotten corner of the campus in the gloomy shadows of the tower from which football games were announced, the baseball diamond was the school s disgrace. The school saw no point in restoring it, and everyone clearly understood the message that baseball and its players just weren t worth the effort. Everyone, that is, except for me and a handful of my teammates. We would not let them determine our worth. One summer s day in 2014, I borrowed my neighbor s lawn mower and met my teammates at the batting cage. I began mowing down the weeds, while they raked. Others restretched the netting back across the top of the cage. By the time the afternoon came we had a batting cage and a real sense of pride. From that day forward, we began practicing every day, year round. We talked baseball, walked baseball, lived and breathed the stuff. We shared our equipment and made do with what we had. England knew there was catching up to do and after a previous failure at Roanoke island the Brits were determined to succeed! Though despite their high spirits, the New World was harsh and unforgiving, which made the new colony of Jamestown anything but a success. With countless raids by Native American tribes and the continuing starvation of the colony, Harvard graduate, author, and United States historian, Edmund Morgan elaborates on the failure of Jamestown within his work titled The Jamestown Fiasco . The Englishman s encounters with the Native Americans were almost never mutual or positive. The first encounter with the people of the new world was a defeat at best, the Native Americans drove the Englishmen back upon the ships they had come from, but the English were determined that they would be here to stay. They moved farther down the James River and found a suitable location for settlement. Through poor leadership, however, brought the true demise of the possible friendly relations between the Natives and English unlike their French counterparts further north. Innocent Native Americans coming into Jamestown with food and gifts were often treated like spies and taken hostage by the colonists. This understandably gave the natives of the region a common goal, it was the English versus them. Online classes are a cost effective substitute for traditional courses and more convenient for many, so more schools and universities are offering this option. Due to the increase in online course enrollment, people are questioning if students truly learn something from online classes because it s not a traditional learning environment. Online classes are just, if not more, effective as traditional classes because grades have increased and online discussions provide students with the chance to interact through networking while earning a degree for less than what it would cost to enroll at the same university. As economic and political tensions faded, a new stereotype replaced Yellow Peril in film and television. This stereotype, known as the model minority, is believed to have come around in the 1960s during the civil rights movement as an attempt to create resentment and tension within America s minority groups (Huh 13). The model minority stereotype characterized Asian Americans as immigrants that valued hard work, family, and determination (Mok 192). This appears to be a positive stereotype that exemplifies the values of the American Dream; however, academic scholars like Teresa Mok disagree. Mok argues that the model minority stereotype emphasizes the similarities of Asian Americans and white Americans. In this sense, the model minority might be seen as assimilating to American culture by acting whiter (Mok 193). This stereotype was most notably seen in the first all Asian musical, Flower Drum Song. The plot exacerbated the idea of the model minority, centering the story around the benefits of assimilation in lieu of keeping with traditional ways. (Mok 193). One of the most controversial stereotypes was yellowface. White American actors often donned yellowface to portray Asian characters: one notable example is that of Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany s. The patency of the ductus is mainly regulated by low oxygen tension present in the foetal lung and prostaglandin, which is known for its vasodilating effect in the placental circulation. Prostaglandin levels are usually high as a result of placental production and low clearance ability of the foetal lung (Gardner, Carter, Enzman Hines, Hernandez,2016). The DA closure is essential for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Daily cardiac ultrasounds were done from the first day to the last dose of treatment. During the course of treatment, the duct was observed to close at a faster rate in the paracetamol group (p=0.016). A high confidence interval of 95% with a mean of 177 hours ductal closure for paracetamol treated group while confidence interval of the controlled group was 388 hours (p=0.045). The therapeutic serum range of paracetamol was also measured with no evidence of adverse effect (Harkin, Harma, Aikio, Valkama, Leskinen, Saarela, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Last Summer Travi $ Scott Last summer Travi$ Scott released Days Before Rodeo, a free mixtape that wouldn t just serve as the unofficial countdown for his debut album, but give listeners a sense of what the rapper /producer is working with sonically. Pounding, acerbic drums, thick, hazy atmospheres, and a confrontational predisposition would establish Scott as a fearless rising star in rap music. And although the tape was a welcome shift from the amateurish shlock that plagued his debut tape Owl Pharaoh, it also did very little to invite the listener into Scott s world. Even if Scott had trouble lining up his greatest attributes, his talent was certainly evident. His production choices, which have been carefully excavated from the post 808s Heartbreakmusical landscape and Atlanta s grab bag of innovations, can be intriguing, and his rebellious posturing certainly strikes a chord with a certain angsty personality type. Those rare moments when he finds the right balance Basement Freestyle is perhaps the best example can add up to something quite uncanny. With the clock no longer ticking, Scott returns with Rodeo, an album that looks to position the 21 year old as a curator of supreme taste, as well darken his already moody blues. At fourteen tracks Rodeo presents blockbuster names (Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd), noteworthy rap talent (Chief Keef, Future, Swae Lee, Quavo, Young Thug), and in demand producers (Metro Boomin, Southside, TM88, Zaytoven, FKi, WondaGurl). ... • 42. The World s Image Of God So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply... Together men and women were meant to bring life, and subdue the earth, ordering their environment. From the beginning God asked mankind to make a good home from what he provided and mandated that man and woman do so together. Man was meant to be a keeper, while the woman was to be a helper. When the woman enriches life on earth with the help she offers man, and man works to subdue earth in order to provide a living space supportive of the life of woman and child, earth becomes a home. Rather than a wild, untamed environment, creation becomes a place centered around human beings, with man and woman at its apex. Without the woman, the environment becomes wild and untamed, without her it s just man and the animals. Then the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner. In a very raw sense the woman does foster the preservation of life, but she was meant for more. She was meant to bring a fruitful and enriching aspect to life. Preservation suggests that there is a negative force encroaching on life, it s being lived to the fullest. However, God gave man women in a time of peace before the first death had occurred. In an optimum environment where life is fostered, woman is enabled to not only foster its preservation, but the enrichment of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
