Trammell defines archive as an institution of guarded of intellectual power and a place where it
can be interpreted. The three categories he used to discuss content for archive are map, brands,
and clothes. Board games and digital games, before they showed any images, the players needed to
use their imagination to create a world of the game. Most role playing board games provided a
map for the players to see what the world their characters are living in. An example, Dungeons
and Dragons, has images of the characters to imagine and the map of the world. In the archive
brands are a big part because most of the big companies like Nintendo and Atari, using their name
to brand things like toys while using transmedia to create audio tapes and music... Show more

Both main characters in The Walking Dead are African American trying to survive the
apocalypse and most of the characters that die in the game are white. While in The Last of Us, it
s more of the opposite where the main characters are white and all of the African American
characters die throughout the game. In The Walking Dead, the violence of the main characters
doesn t show what most people would expect of a black character to be doing. The Walking
Dead shows that an African American characters named Lee, who s background and story can
be recognized in the game by the players and can recognize him as human, not some other
character we don t care for. However, some of these black characters can be misrecognized of
their hardship as human being like in the The Last of Us, with many of the black character s
background barely get recognized and cared for. The Walking dead also wants us, the player, to
empathize with the characters struggles. There are players that can identify and be a spectator of
someone with their characteristics like Lee. Lee s personality as a caring and loving person for
Clementine shows his humanity. Near the end of the game you can see Lee s suffering from being
in handcuffs in the beginning to being in it the end which present the motion between player and

Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus
Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus A Powerful Tragedy
Titus Andronicus is a play marked by acts of horrific violence and littered with death and the
destruction of others. Each violent act, however, serves to explain and sometimes encourage the
motives of the play s memorable characters and impart a very tightly knotted plot. The structure of
the play employs well defined heroes and villains. Revenge is their key motivating factor. All of
these elements combine to form a cohesive plot and contribute to the overall success of the story.
Shakespeare s sources for the play are quite clear. He makes it no secret that the rape of Lavinia is
analogous to the rape of Philomela in Ovid s Metamorphosis. In this tale, The daughter of the King

iii.). This similarity is not limited to the characters actions, however; Metamorphosis is
mentioned in the play on several occasions. This analogy is first brought out by Lavinia in Act
IV, scene one. The young Lucius has a copy of the book which Lavinia uses to explain how she
was Ravished and wronged, as Philomela was . . . (IV. I. 52). The book is also mentioned in Act V,
scene three, when Titus asks Saturninus,
My lord the Emperor, resolve me this: Was it well done of rash Virginius [Philomela s father] To
slay his daughter with his own right hand, Because she was enforced, stained, and deflowered? (V.
iii. 35 8)
Shortly after Saturninus answers in the affirmative, Titus follows Virginius s lead and kills Lavinia.
These occurrences are not the only unmistakable likenesses, however.
Another popular tale that was published during Shakespeare s lifetime is that of wicked Moorish
servant who is wronged by his master and swears to exact his revenge. One day while the master
is out hunting, the Moor traps the master s wife and two children in their moated tower by raising
the drawbridge. The panicking mistress alarms her neighbors who alert her husband in the forest.
When the master arrives, the Moor kills one child and then the other on top of the tower and drops

Edm Research Paper
Electronic music is without a doubt the most rapidly expanding genre in its industry. While this
may be due to it s progressive yet addictive structured melody and catchy beats, one may wonder
just how EDM has become so popular. After a careful examination of the topic, it is evident that
EDM s rise to fame is due to its international culture, underground history with dance clubs, and
leaves a mark in our world differently than any other genre.
Edm being a more modern genre made it s production easily accessible by all countries thanks to the
innovation of the digital audio workstation (DAW). Unlike genre s in the past, Edm was created and
shared not limited to the interests of one country. For example, the blues were most popular among

For instance, Justin Beiber s latest hits Let me love you , What do you mean, Where are You

EDM festival Tomorrowland which is considered a worldwide event due to the amount tourists

There are numerous great open source software solutions for database servers, like, H2, HyperSQL,
MySQL, mysql, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, just to name a few. They all offer topnotch functionality,
performance, scalability, and security. As far as which one is the best, I recommend
PostgreSQL. PostgreSQL is an object relational Database software solution that offers some of
the most feature rich options as compared to the bigger commercial manufacturers like Oracle,
IBM, Sybase and Informix, and the best part of it, it s free. It s also one of the first database
software that was released, and it has a proven track record with over 23 years of active
development. It was created back in 1989. The only other DB software that came out before it is
Oracle, which was created back in 1979. Now PostgreSQL might not be the fastest, but It more
than makes up for it with its functionality. It allows the use of two different types of interfaces, a
GUI (for those who like the point click style) and a SQL. It works on most OSs like windows,
Linux, Mac, Unix, etc. It has a vast array of services and tools that is included to streamline the
administration of the Database. Here are just some examples; Full ACID (Atomicity, Consistency,
Isolation, Durability) compliancy, commercial noncommercial support, triggers support, user

Time Management Issues Essay
Time Management Issues How often do you hear the words time management ? In the last few
years, these words are progressively touching the lives each of us. Each of us in a professional or
personal life has a huge amount of things that need to be done. Time management helps us to
organize and plan our daily activities, such as job projects or homework assignments. Having the
time managementskills can help you become more effective and successful person.
The first possible solution to the problem of time management issues is start becoming a more
organized person. Is it achievable to become an organized person? I would say yes. It is a great
skill that you can learn, just like you learn how to drive a car. At first time it is difficult, but each
time it turns easier, like you always knew how to drive a car. The same way with the
organization skills. Of course organization takes time, but when you will get it like your habit,
your life becomes really easier. First of all, you should keep everything in its place. Whether it s
your home or your office, you need to be able to find everything what you want quickly. For
example, your study binder. How often do you have distress looking for one specific paper inside
your binder? One year ago I had a problem like that and it took me a long time to find something.
Now, it takes me about 10 seconds because I am separating all of the papers by class, subject and
week. Also, I am creating section dividers that are

delivering mail, and encounter for 3 reasons. First, the pony express encountered Weather. The
pony express men had to go through mountains and worked through winter. In the winter, there
would be avalanches that would kill the express men and take the mail with them. Other times they

Beetroot Essay
The reason why we got these results can be explained, when alcohol interacts with the cell
membrane is affects the normal formation of the lipid chains that form in a bilayer, it is believed
that alcohol binds underneath the charged head of the lipid and displaces water that is originally
there [1] this breaks up the membrane allowing more of the red pigment to diffuse out of the
beetroot. [2] The ethanol forms temporary bonds with the phospholipid heads in the bilayer as
they are opposite dipoles causing the phospholipids to move out of place causing gaps to form
which allows large molecules such as betalain to diffuse out of the cell. As well proteins, like
enzymes, can become denatured by the ethanol due to the same affect as with the phospholipids
this can disrupt the hydrogen bonds, which maintain secondary structure. The negative ethanol
molecules cause the bonds between the amino acid chains R groups to... Show more content on

Cholesterol in the membrane is not soluble in water but in ethanol it is soluble, at high
concentrations it actually begins to dissolve, as the cholesterol is no longer present and is used to
hold the phospholipids together, the bilayer comes more fluid, cholesterol helps provide stability
so once removed there becomes larger gaps in between the phospholipids causing larger molecules
to be able to diffuse out, such as betalain, therefore the cell membrane is increasingly more
permeable [3]. This is what caused the results that we got, as the concentration increased so did the
gaps in the membrane in size increase, allowing more pigment to diffuse out, especially at higher
concentrations when cholesterol too dissolved, then as the concentration got higher at 60% the
results leveled off as the effect stayed

Before the 2016 Rio Olympic Games starts, many people have been complaining about the
deplorable safety across the country, which is leading to an uncontrollable increase in the death
toll. In fact, the mass media declares, about three months prior to the beginning of the event, that
the Olympic Games will be cancelled due to resource inefficiency , but things soon head to a
promising start. At the end of July, as the Olympics are near its commencement, Rio is supplied
with 85,000 security forces to ensure city tourists and its citizens are kept safe while the event is
hosted (Kaiser and Jacobs). The appearance of military soldiers encompassing Rio s
surroundings mostly surprise Brazilian people who are not only concerned about getting robbed
by dangerous criminals, but also are on the lookout of a potential terrorist attack directed by the
Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). In major sporting events like the Olympics and the World

History Of Social Discourse
Social discourse is speech or text communication that involves a specific historical and social
element. The definition of discourse is very broad; th e word discourse refers to nearly all of the
many ways that humans communicate with each other. A social type of discourse is
communication that has a social purpose, or some kind of distinctively social aspect. When
understanding this definition, it is easy to see why tattooing can be seen as a significant form of a
social discourse since it has been a way for humans to communicate belonging and other similar
meanings within a social community. The history of tattooing in North America reveals how the
meanings and functions of aesthetic cultural practices cross social boundaries. Much like... Show

In 512 BC, the Greeks adopted the Persians way of tattooing which was used for slaves, convicts
and prisoners of war by tattooing letters onto their foreheads; the point was to make it impossible
for a runaway to be unnoticed (Hesselt van Dinter, 2005). For the Romans it wasn‟t about
decoration, it was about control, also tattooing specific groups allowed the Romans to track the
groups‟ movements around the Empire. They also found these markings useful for Roman
recruits and allowed them to distinguish soldiers from different units and strengthen bonds
(Hesselt van Dinter, 2005). In 55 BC, the people of Britannia were found to have colored their

was given the name Land of the painted people . The Briton word Picts was meant to signify a

The Theme of Loneliness in Of Mice and Men
In the novel, Of Mice and Men John Steinbeck used George and Lennie s relationship and the
theme of hope to point out the loneliness in the novel. The novel starts off and is set in Soledad
which means lonely. At the beginning they get a job working on a farm together. Lennieis a little
retarded and has great physical strength that isn t too controllable. As they work from ranch to
ranch, Lennie relies on George for guidance and help. Rather than wasting their earnings, they try to
save it in the hope of buying a place of their own. While working at one ranch they meet a worker
named Candy who tries to help them financially. Before their dream can be fulfilled, Lennie kills

They didn t have any family members around to give them support. As farmers that gave them
the chance to make a friendship: Guys Like us, that work on ranches, are the loneliest guys in the
world, they got no family (Steinbeck 15). After they start talking then it s clear that they both don
t want to be alone their whole life. Steinbeck points out that most of the people that work on the
ranch don t have anything to look ahead to. George and Lennie want to have something to look
forward to and that is why they hope that it won t happen to them: With us it ain t like that, We got
a future (Steinbeck 15). This is where the hope of them accomplishing their dreams comes into
play. Later Lennie goes on to tell that it won t happen to them because they have each other to look
over each other. That is where it is showing their friendship covering up the true loneliness of the
characters.
The novel suggests doubts of someone getting their dream many times. This is where the
character Crooks joins in. He states that he has seen a hundred of men in his time and that
everyone has a hunger of a piece of land in their head and none of them ever get it. He uses the
metaphor to going to heaven that not everyone gets to go and that not everyone gets some land: I
seen guys nearly crazy with loneliness for land (Steinbeck 89). Here it suggest that George and
Lennie might not get a place, but they refuse to believe it. The last thing that they want is to be

The Tempest Research Paper
Harmonious Dissonance In The Tempest, William Shakespeare uses the Prospero and Caliban s
servant/master relationship and the motif of magic and power to portray that destruction and
confliction will result when there is an external or internal imbalance between the disordered
Dionysian intoxication and the disciplined Apollonian order. Caliban, who resentfully serves
Prospero, represents the impulsive Dionysian servant whom the Apollonian master counteracts.
Caliban is out of control, even stating that he wishes to have violated the honor of Miranda due to
his hate of Prospero. The growing resentment for Prospero within Caliban leads him to plot
Prospero s demise with his newfound party of intoxicated drunkards, Stephano and Trinculo, whom

The rise of Caliban, who is drunk with retaliation, represents an imbalance between the Dionysian
impulse and Prospero, who represents Apollonian order. Caliban s plans foreshadow this conflict
and destruction, as he plots to get his island back no matter what the expenses are. This imbalance
between the Dionysian intoxication and impulse and the disciplined, rational, Apollonian order
can also be internally present. Prospero represents the intellectual Apollonian figure, who keeps
impetuous threats like Caliban in check. However, Prospero was once ironically a figure of his
own Dionysian factor, creating an internal imbalance between the opposing factors. Prospero
expresses that he was once intoxicated by his Apollonian studies, as his state was growing stranger
in his increasing submersion to his world of books. This leads Prospero to neglect and lose sight of
his government responsibilities, increasingly turning over the power of Duke to his brother
Antonio, who in turn becomes intoxicated and infatuated with the key of officer and office.
Antonio s intoxication of power creates conflict as he overthrows Prospero

The Cuban Revolutionary Movement Of Cuba
The Cuban revolutionary movement is still remembered today as a significant cause of what has
come of Cuba today but more importantly by the people who were involved. One who played a
significant role for his effort to overthrow the Cuban and Bolivian government was Che Guevara.
Che Guevara became involved in political change when he was on a trip in Cubawhere he met Fidel
Castro. At the time, Fidel Castro wanted to overthrow the government which was under control of
Fulgencio Batista. Guevara s admiration to Castro and commitment made him his second in

Guevara during the revolutionary war in Cuba. Tania was an agent for the East German Ministry of
State Security. Worked as a translator in the Cuban delegation, then after joined the militia. Che

Okonkwo And Achebe s Things Fall Apart
The definition of a tragic hero as told by Aristotle is that they must have a high status, must have
flaws, must have a downfall caused by an error of judgement, the downfall is not fully deserved,
hero learns something from their fall, and audience isn t left in a depressed state. Okonkwo fits
most of the characteristics, but not all of these are part of Things Fall Apart that express these six
characteristics. The traits that do fit Okonkwo, show him as a tragic heroand how he fits as a
characterin the tragic herocategory.

The second trait, talks about having flaws so that hero isn t deemed as perfect. Okonkwo has
many character flaws; the problems he faces with dealing with his father s past, and how
abusive he is towards his family. Okonkwo s anger issues lead him to be very abusive towards
his children and wives because of how he thinks that no one should be weak or disobey him.
Okonkwo fits the third trait with his downfall, and in my opinion can be considered to have two
downfalls in this book. The first being when Okonkwo is exiled from the community for
accidentally shooting his gun. This represents a downfall because it was an error of judgement
towards controlling the gun and it let to Okonkwo having to leave the community and losing his
titles because of his violence. The second downfall is when Okonkwo kills the white messenger
because it was an error of judgement when Okonkwo killed the man because he thought no one
else would and this lead to Okonkwo killing himself. I would say for the fourth trait Okonkwo
didn t deserve to be exiled because of how he didn t mean to kill the boy and he did not deserve his
suicide because of how he thought

Why is ADR become so popular in business disputes? Be sure to explain the major types of ADR
and the pros and cons of ADR versus traditional judicial resolution to civil disputes.
A common method of dispute resolution that avoids many of the challenges associated with
litigation is alternative dispute resolution. Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) is a term that
encompasses many different methods of dispute resolution other than litigation. ADR involves
resolving disputes outside of the judicial process, though the judiciary can require parties to
participate in specific types of ADR, such as arbitration, for some types of conflicts. Moreover,
some ADR methods vest power to resolve the dispute in a neutral party, while other strategies vest
that power in the parties themselves.
In a negotiation, there is no neutral party charged with ensuring that rules are followed, that the
negotiation strategy is fair, or that the overall outcome is sound. Moreover, any party can walk
away whenever it wishes. There is no guarantee of resolution through this method. The result may
not be win win or win lose, but no resolution at all. Also, generally speaking, attorneys are not
involved in many negotiations. This last point may be seen as a drawback or a benefit, depending

that require you to put a capsule under your tongue and let it absorb that way. Purathrive uses
methylcobalamin, a naturally occurring B12 that your body can instantly use. Often, another form
of synthetic B12 is added to foods, which forces the body to use energy to convert it into
methylcobalamin. With Purathrive, you can save your energy and get the good stuff straight up

Explain Some Ways in Which Environment Can Be Structured...
Explain some ways in which environment can be structured to facilitate communication in children
/ young people with
SLCN
Introduction.
Speech, language and communication play a vital role in our lives. Without being able to talk to,
and understand other people we can t do things alike: Almost everything we do involves speech,
language and or communication
Children develop communication skills from birth. They rely on speech, language and
communication to be able to learn at school and play with their friends. They need these skills to
reach their full potential. Children begin to understand words before they can say them. They then
learn how to say these words and how to put them together to make sentences. Some develop
quickly, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These words and concepts are vital for making sense of new information or ideas that they are
finding out about. Children and young people s interactions at school with adults and their peers
are crucial in supporting their learning.
Research has shown that in areas of social disadvantage, at least 50% of children have delayed
language. (Locke, A., Ginsborg, J., and Peers, I. 2002) however, it s important to note that children
and young people from all areas and backgrounds can have delayed language.
Clinical Pragmatics reflects an emerging awareness that some communication difficulties could not
be attributed to purely linguistic problems. For a long time before that, practicing speech and
language therapists had worked with children and adults whose primary difficulties seemed to lie
with the understanding and/or production of connected discourse. ( Relevance Theory and
Communication Disorders Eeva Leinonen and Nuala Ryder, 2008.)
Communication is the basis of our lives and we would in this day and age, be handicapped without
it. Everyday we are communicating with each other in some way or another, be it by using words,
actions or even expressions in conveying a message. Communication refers to the exchange of
thoughts and ideas with the intention of conveying information. The purpose of communication is
to convey one s beliefs, ideas, thoughts, or needs with clarity so as to reach a consensus or a
mutually acceptable

Why Were The Colonial Days So Important
The Colonial days
By: Gabriella Freiberg
Why were the colonial days so important?
The colonial days were so important because if we didn t have these settlers come and build the
colonies, we wouldn t be living here today. The 13 colonies that have made up this land are New
Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania,
Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. There were so
many things they did to get food, water, resources, and etc. They were very creative people and
used lots of different inventions to live and get resources that they didn t have. One was the
triangular trade route. The name was given by the route which the goods from the colonies were
taken back to Europe. Europe made the things they traded for and sold them back to another
territory. While the triangular trade route started in the 1500 s it really didn t start working until
the mid 1600 s. Not all tribes used the triangular trade route some tribes just used their own
inventions to get from place to place. They had many jobs back then to keep the places running.

China Is The Most Overpopulated Country
As the years progress, one question continues to arise, how does one continue to house millions
upon millions of individuals? China is the most overpopulated country in the world, inhabiting the
9.6 million km of land would be more than 1.35 billion individuals. These over populous regions
have led to a decrease of land and recourses, poor living conditions, and an increase in pollution. In
order for the country to grow and prosper, serious changes must be implemented. Alternative
housing is one of the greatest challenges the country is facing. Houses are built so closely
together now that disease and infections are spreading at a rapid pace. The poor resources
acquired to build these houses are one of the leading factors of pollution. It is essential for the
country as a whole to turn to these more economical and ecofriendly materials in order to make a
positive spin on the state of which China is currently in.
The rapid economic growth in China has led to the destruction of forests, the pollution of water,
and the continuous pollution of the air. With the dramatic increase in the population, building
production to house the citizens must increase as well at a startling pace as the land fields
decrease in order to make space. A decline in land leads to a lack of resources, putting the country
into a state of panic. A surge in building production leads to an increase in carbon foot printing,
adding to the massive amount of pollution in the environment already. Alternative

Sleep Paralysis Research Paper
Abstract
Sleep Paralysis is a rare type of sleeping disorder that not many people experience. There are
many people are unfamiliar with sleep paralysis and when a person experiences it for the first
time they mainly look to the supernatural. There are many scientists who are looking into the
science of this sleeping disorder and still have yet to discover the main cause of sleep paralysis. So
far, the main explanation for sleep paralysis is that your brain and body aren t on the same cycle,
thus causing the hallucinations. This paper will explain how the science of sleep paralysis is more

Symbolism of the Number Three in Bless Me Ultima Essay...
Through Rudolfo Anaya s Bless Me, Ultima, the reader notices many themes. One central, and very
important theme is the repetition of the number three. For example, there are three sources of
understand for Antonio, three deaths that Antonio witnesses, and Antonio s three prophetic dreams.
These all play crucial roles in both Antonio s life and serving to further the plot.
First, and probably most important are the three sources of understanding for Antonio. First, there
is Ultima, who serves as a neutral source of understanding and comforter for Antonio. The next
source of understanding for Antonio is God. Antonio constantly struggles to understand good and
evil through the eyes of the Catholic God. The final source of ... Show more content on

This sets up the initial conflict for Antonio, he wants to believe in his mother s God, but at the
same time he finds conviction and truth in what Samuel is telling him about the golden carp god.
Furthermore, while Antonio is supposed to be praying to God he says, There wasn t time to
discover Him, like I could do when I sat on the creek bank and watched the golden carp swim in
the sun filtered waters (233). I think this shows that Antonio feels a deeper connection to nature and
the golden carp than he does to God and traditional values. He is more like Ultima, than like either
one of his parents. The golden carp offer Antonio a way of thinking that is free and unstructured,
unlike that of Catholicism.
The final source of understanding for Antonio is God. He is expected to understand God,
because his mother dreams for him to become a priest. He is also expected to believe in God
because his mother is Catholic and that is what is expected of Antonio. I hoped that in a few
years the taking of the first holy communion would bring me understand (77). Antonio is basically
going through the motions that are expected of him. He is not genuinely excited to be taking his
communion; it is just something that he feels he needs to do. He thinks that if he takes his first
communion maybe he will have some answers for why there is good and evil going on around
him. He says, I want to know. I want to know the mysteries of

China’s New Nationalism Essay
No one can deny from recent news that there has been a strong surge of Chinese nationalism, and
that this nationalism has turned heads in the international community. The nationalism that the
CCP has affected is taking on a life of its own. In its strategy of pragmatic nationalism, the CCP
tried to blur the lines between love of country with love of the state and governing body. What has
resulted is a whole new breed of nationalism that is very much independent of the Chinese
Communist Party and in fact has caused the CCP great concern. This new form of nationalism is
much more vibrant, passionate, virulent and uncontrollable than the government had intended with
its post 1989 strategy of obtaining legitimacy through nationalism. This... Show more content on

The I am Chinese program was launched at Universities to make people proud of being Chinese
and also, of the Communist Party that was portrayed as the governing body that has contributed
greatly to the people of China. One experience so far in China that left a strong impression on
my mind was a visit to the Shaanxi museum of history. Our tour guide was a locally educated
young woman in her twenties. As she took us through the different periods of Chinese history, at
every exhibit showing some sort of tool or mechanistic contraption she would turn and say as
you can see, the Chinese people are very smart! She also recounted a story in which she was very
offended that an American made a comment that Chinese people are short, to which she replied
yes, we are, but we have five thousand years of history and culture! Both the richness and vastness
of Chinese history was a huge source of pride for her, as her slightly illogical response to the
American s comment shows. In retrospect, her age denotes that she grew up on the government s
campaign in the 1990s to educated students about China s greatness, to foster pride. At the same
time however, China s battered history with the West since the Opium war of the mid 19th century
was emphasized to demonstrate how Chinese has been constantly abused and mistreated by the
imperialist powers. The CCP was portrayed as the right government to help

Occupation In The Film October Sky
In the film, October Sky , the main occupation during that era was to work at the coal mine;
almost every man worked as a miner to obtain money to raise their family. The coal mine is a

Daniel Shays As An American Officer
Daniel Shays
Daniel Shays served role as an American officer in the American Revolution from 1775 to 1780
and also became known as one of the leaders of Shays Rebellion, which lasted from 1786 to 1787.
In 1780 he resigned from the army, and settled in Pelham, Massachusetts, where he held numerous
town offices. Soon after, wealth reigned in America at the signing of the peace treaty in 1783, but
was quickly transformed into a severe economic depression. He began his rebellion when property
holders, including himself, began losing their belongings through confiscations for unpaid debts
and taxes and became subject to debtor s imprisonment. Protests then followed, with threats of
violence against the courts conducting the enforcements and arraignments. This is when Shays
arose as one of the several leaders of what came to be known as Shays Rebellion. After the
Rebellion was over, he and approximately a dozen others were sentenced to death by the Supreme
Court of Massachusetts. However, towards the end of the rebellion, Shays had escaped to

moved further west to Sparta, New York. Shays, in his old age, was granted a retirement pension

Corn Ethanol Controversy And The Chemical Formula Of Ethanol
Corn Ethanol Controversy!
Ethanol (CH3CH2OH) is a clear, colorless liquid. It is also known as ethyl alcohol, EtOH, and
grain alcohol. Ethanol is widely produced by processing grains such as corn or starch and sugar
crops. The grain is first milled, then fermented with yeast and different enzymes to turn the grain s
starches into alcohol(EPA). A distillation process then increases the ethanolconcentrations, basically
the same process a whiskey maker would use to make whiskey. Of course, law mandates that a
denaturant is added, making the liquid unsafe for drinking. In the process, waste grain is
produced and sold as farm animal feed. Bioethanol, can be made from many types of trees and
grasses, but the procedure is much harder. The chemical formula of ethanol is the same whether it
is made from starch and sugar based feedstocks, such as corn grain (widely used in United States),
sugar cane (Brazil), or from cellulosic feedstocks (such as wood chips or crop residues). (The
Alternative Fuels Data Center)
In the United States, ethanol is primarily used as a blending element in the production of gas and
as an alternative fuel. More than 95% of the gasoline sold in the United States contains ethanol.
Most of ethanol blending into U.S. motor gasoline occurs to meet the requirements of the 1990

How Did Thomas Paine Use Ethos In The Crisis

The Crisis by Thomas Paine (1776) was written to inspire the people of the colonies to revolt
against Great Britain. This document is important to the Age of Reason because it gave the colonies
more hope of becoming a nation and inspired more people to want independence from Britain. With
The Crisis and Common Sense, these two documents, along with many other factors, is what
kickstarted the revolution. Paine uses ethos pathos and logos to appeal to his audience multiple

The major trends that are restructuring and characterising the textile and clothing sector are as
follows: The European textile and clothing industry is characterised by fragmented production with
a large number of small and medium sized companies mainly located in Italy, Great Britain, France,
Germany and Spain (Nordas, 2004), while distribution channels are highly concentrated (Stengg,
2001). Increasing internationalisation in the textile and apparel sector and the emergence of
international competitors (CerviГ±o, 1998). Consolidation of the sector through mergers,
acquisitions and strategic alliances (Dunford, 2004). Sub contracting or delocalisation of textile and
clothing production to countries with lower labour and transportation costs and reduced lead time
(Berkeley and Steuer, 2000). Re evaluation of the business models to adapt to the customersВґ
changing taste (KPMG, 2005). Fashion companies are becoming more flexible and vertically
organised, limited vertical integration being more frequent than complete integration (Samiee,
1995). Adoption of new technology to expand productivity and increase competitiveness (Berkeley
and Steuer, 2000). Democratisation of the fashion sector over the last decades (Mazaira, et al.,
2003). Zara has contributed greatly to this shift by offering the latest design at attractive prices.

Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn is generally considered one of the greatest painters in European
art history and the most important in Dutch history. Rembrandt was also a proficient printmaker
and made many drawings. His contributions to art came in a period that historians call the Dutch
Golden Age (roughly equivalent to the 17th century), in which Dutch culture, science, commerce,
world power and political influence reached their pinnacles.
In all, Rembrandt produced around 600 paintings, 300 etchings, and 2,000 drawings. He was a

By 1631, Rembrandt had established such a good reputation that he received several assignments
for portraits from Amsterdam. As a result, he moved to that city and into the house of an art
dealer, Hendrick van Uylenburgh. This move eventually led, in 1634, to the marriage of
Rembrandt and Hendrick s greatniece, Saskia van Uylenburg. This was obviously a marriage for
love. Although she came from a good family (her father had been burgomaster of Leeuwarden),
Saskia was an orphan and was probably not very wealthy. She lived with her sister in Frisia and did
not have many grand connections in Amsterdam. These events, however, are widely disputed.
In 1639, Rembrandt and Saskia moved to a prominent house in the Jodenbreestraat in the Jewish

had several setbacks in their personal life. Three of their children died shortly after birth. Only
their fourth child, a son, Titus, who was born in 1641, survived into adulthood. Saskia died in 1642

After her death he began an affair with Titus s nurse, a widow called Geertje Dircx. This ended

that the council force him to marry her. The council did not go that far but Rembrandt was asked

The three categories he used to discuss content for archive are map, brands, and clothes. Board games and digital games, before they showed any images, the players needed to use their imagination to create a world of the game. Most role playing board games provided a map for the players to see what the world their characters are living in. While in The Last of Us, it s more of the opposite where the main characters are white and all of the African American characters die throughout the game. In The Walking Dead, the violence of the main characters doesn t show what most people would expect of a black character to be doing. The Walking Dead shows that an African American characters named Lee, who s background and story can be recognized in the game by the players and can recognize him as human, not some other character we don t care for. • 3. Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus A Powerful Tragedy Titus Andronicus is a play marked by acts of horrific violence and littered with death and the destruction of others. Each violent act, however, serves to explain and sometimes encourage the motives of the play s memorable characters and impart a very tightly knotted plot. The structure of the play employs well defined heroes and villains. Revenge is their key motivating factor. All of these elements combine to form a cohesive plot and contribute to the overall success of the story. Shakespeare s sources for the play are quite clear. He makes it no secret that the rape of Lavinia is analogous to the rape of Philomela in Ovid s Metamorphosis. In this tale, The daughter of the King ... This analogy is first brought out by Lavinia in Act IV, scene one. The young Lucius has a copy of the book which Lavinia uses to explain how she was Ravished and wronged, as Philomela was . . . (IV. I. 52). The book is also mentioned in Act V, scene three, when Titus asks Saturninus, My lord the Emperor, resolve me this: Was it well done of rash Virginius [Philomela s father] To slay his daughter with his own right hand, Because she was enforced, stained, and deflowered? (V. iii. 35 8) Shortly after Saturninus answers in the affirmative, Titus follows Virginius s lead and kills Lavinia. These occurrences are not the only unmistakable likenesses, however. Another popular tale that was published during Shakespeare s lifetime is that of wicked Moorish servant who is wronged by his master and swears to exact his revenge. One day while the master is out hunting, the Moor traps the master s wife and two children in their moated tower by raising the drawbridge. The panicking mistress alarms her neighbors who alert her husband in the forest. When the master arrives, the Moor kills one child and then the other on top of the tower and drops their ... • 8. Beetroot Essay The reason why we got these results can be explained, when alcohol interacts with the cell membrane is affects the normal formation of the lipid chains that form in a bilayer, it is believed that alcohol binds underneath the charged head of the lipid and displaces water that is originally there [1] this breaks up the membrane allowing more of the red pigment to diffuse out of the beetroot. [2] The ethanol forms temporary bonds with the phospholipid heads in the bilayer as they are opposite dipoles causing the phospholipids to move out of place causing gaps to form which allows large molecules such as betalain to diffuse out of the cell. As well proteins, like enzymes, can become denatured by the ethanol due to the same affect as with the phospholipids this can disrupt the hydrogen bonds, which maintain secondary structure. The negative ethanol molecules cause the bonds between the amino acid chains R groups to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cholesterol in the membrane is not soluble in water but in ethanol it is soluble, at high concentrations it actually begins to dissolve, as the cholesterol is no longer present and is used to hold the phospholipids together, the bilayer comes more fluid, cholesterol helps provide stability so once removed there becomes larger gaps in between the phospholipids causing larger molecules to be able to diffuse out, such as betalain, therefore the cell membrane is increasingly more permeable [3]. This is what caused the results that we got, as the concentration increased so did the gaps in the membrane in size increase, allowing more pigment to diffuse out, especially at higher concentrations when cholesterol too dissolved, then as the concentration got higher at 60% the results leveled off as the effect stayed ... In addition, even before trying to repay loans, tuition there costs about twice as much as going to Kansas University. When paying off student loans, even with scholarships, students may find themselves paying around 77,000 dollars more than their original loan balance of around 180,000 dollars. Conversely, Kansas University is much cheaper, allowing good students to take out a loan of less than 100,000 dollars. In 1780 he resigned from the army, and settled in Pelham, Massachusetts, where he held numerous town offices. Soon after, wealth reigned in America at the signing of the peace treaty in 1783, but was quickly transformed into a severe economic depression. He began his rebellion when property holders, including himself, began losing their belongings through confiscations for unpaid debts and taxes and became subject to debtor s imprisonment. Protests then followed, with threats of violence against the courts conducting the enforcements and arraignments. This is when Shays arose as one of the several leaders of what came to be known as Shays Rebellion. After the Rebellion was over, he and approximately a dozen others were sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Massachusetts. However, towards the end of the rebellion, Shays had escaped to Vermont, soon afterwards he moved to Schoharie county, New York, and then a few years later moved further west to Sparta, New York. • 32. Corn Ethanol Controversy And The Chemical Formula Of Ethanol Corn Ethanol Controversy! Ethanol (CH3CH2OH) is a clear, colorless liquid. It is also known as ethyl alcohol, EtOH, and grain alcohol. Ethanol is widely produced by processing grains such as corn or starch and sugar crops. The grain is first milled, then fermented with yeast and different enzymes to turn the grain s starches into alcohol(EPA). A distillation process then increases the ethanolconcentrations, basically the same process a whiskey maker would use to make whiskey. Of course, law mandates that a denaturant is added, making the liquid unsafe for drinking. In the process, waste grain is produced and sold as farm animal feed. Bioethanol, can be made from many types of trees and grasses, but the procedure is much harder. The chemical formula of ethanol is the same whether it is made from starch and sugar based feedstocks, such as corn grain (widely used in United States), sugar cane (Brazil), or from cellulosic feedstocks (such as wood chips or crop residues). (The Alternative Fuels Data Center) In the United States, ethanol is primarily used as a blending element in the production of gas and as an alternative fuel. More than 95% of the gasoline sold in the United States contains ethanol. Most of ethanol blending into U.S. motor gasoline occurs to meet the requirements of the 1990 Clean Air Act (RFG Fuel) and the Renewable Fuel Standard set forth in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. By 1631, Rembrandt had established such a good reputation that he received several assignments for portraits from Amsterdam. As a result, he moved to that city and into the house of an art dealer, Hendrick van Uylenburgh. This move eventually led, in 1634, to the marriage of Rembrandt and Hendrick s greatniece, Saskia van Uylenburg. This was obviously a marriage for love. Although she came from a good family (her father had been burgomaster of Leeuwarden), Saskia was an orphan and was probably not very wealthy. She lived with her sister in Frisia and did not have many grand connections in Amsterdam. These events, however, are widely disputed. In 1639, Rembrandt and Saskia moved to a prominent house in the Jodenbreestraat in the Jewish quarter, which later became the Rembrandt House Museum. Although they were affluent the couple had several setbacks in their personal life. Three of their children died shortly after birth. Only their fourth child, a son, Titus, who was born in 1641, survived into adulthood. Saskia died in 1642 soon after Titus s birth, probably from tuberculosis. After her death he began an affair with Titus s nurse, a widow called Geertje Dircx. This ended in a lawsuit.
