Definitions Of A Computer Network
Define and explain the following terminologies
Computer network:
In a computer network, relevant equipment is interconnected through the usage of wires or wireless
mechanisms in order to exchange data. In particular, a computer network allows for info and data
to be exchanged, at an instance, from one interconnected spot to another. In such case, a client
/server system applies; a terminal is directly connected to a relevant local area network (LAN). In
contemporaneous business doing, computers are usually connected through LAN to shared office
resources (i.e. software) located on a relevant office server that allows for interconnection of users,
who can use available office resources via terminals that act as connection points (Kuross ... Show

In a LAN, terminals can be connected to a central terminal (i.e. computer) that may act as the
means for the particular network to achieve external intercommunication as well. In such case, a
LAN of a certain building A can be interconnected to the LAN of a certain building B through a
local area network to local area network infrastructure. Such interconnection is highly useful and
significant when in need to save cost by sharing a printer, for example, between departments that
would need, otherwise, separate printing devices (Kuross Ross, 2005, p.34).
Metropolitan area networks (MANs)
In a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), parties (i.e. companies, individuals, etc.) can be
interconnected with each other and connect to the Internet in an area of up to 50 kilometers. In a
MAN, local area networks can be interconnected with a metropolitan area network through
appropriate network infrastructure consisting of fiber optic links that allow for fast
interconnection between client/server LAN and for a connection to a relevant Internet Service
Provider. The usage of a MAN, allows for companies to have access to ISP services and to the
software that is being hosted in an ISP although being off site (Kuross Ross, 2005, p.35).
Wide area networks (WANs)
Wide Area Networks constitute the next stage of MANs; interconnections between computer
networks have no geographical limit and can extend to cities, prefectures, countries and the whole
world. Through the usage of a wide

The Gilded Age, And The Gilded Age
In science, we have been taught that for every action there is a reaction. However, this can also be
applied to history. For example, after the French and Indian War, Britain had enforced the
navigation laws and taxes in order to pay for the war debt. This had caused a huge reaction from
the colonies from as simple as boycotting British goods all the way to declaring their independence
in 1776. Individuals can also help bring forth these dramatic changes such as Rosa Parks and Martin
Luther King Jr. who help fought for civil rights. Thus, throughout the United States history, the
nation has gone through a variety of changes. Although presidents have played a significant role in
the nation s changes, many individuals have also brought changes to the nation s economy,
government, and society. In addition to heroes like Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr, another
individual includes Upton Sinclairand his contribution to consumer protection. The Gilded Age, a
phrase coined by Mark Twain, was used to describe the government and its corruption. Like its
name, the nation looked glamorous from the outside, but was full of corruption and political
scandals on the inside such as the Credit Mobilier scandal and Boss Tweed scandal. Government
at this time did little to help the nation, for its own congressmen were involved in the mix of these
corruptions. The government supported laissez faire, which believed that the government should
not regulate business and Social Darwinism survival of the fittest. As a result, this had led to the
suppression of individual rights, for there were no laws to limit the power of monopolies.
Therefore, the Gilded Age became known as corrupt, for the government had favored big
businesses and focused less on the working class. However, this would all change during the
Progressive Era.
In contrast of the Gilded Age, the Progressive Era was a response to the problems that were
created by the Gilded Age. Unlike the Gilded Age, the Progressive Era did not support laissez
faire and rejected the idea of Social Darwinism. Thus in 1901, Theodore Roosevelt was elected
president and came into office with his Square Deal policy. Included in this policy were Roosevelt

Tchaikovsky Symphony 6 Essay
General reaction: I was fascinated by the magnificence of David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center and
elated by the magnitude and grandeur of the sound that the New York Philharmonic succeeded to
produce.
Composition I liked best: The piece that enchanted me most was Symphony No. 6 in B Minor, Op.
74 Pathetique by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, a four movement work composed of Adagio Allegro
non troppo in sonata form, Allegro con grazia in ternary form, Allegro molto vivace in sonata form,
and Adagio lamentoso in ternary form with diverse tempos. The symphony was composed between
February and the end of August 1893 and premiered close to the time of Tchaikovsky s death.
Tchaikovsky dedicated that work to his nephew Bob Davydov. The subtitle Pathetique (infused
with pathos, full of feelings) was suggested by the composer s brother shortly after the symphony s
premiere. The last symphony by one of the greatest Russian composers Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

For a reason the composer considered Symphony No. 6 the best work he had ever produced. It
arose slowly from emptiness with the unexpected sound of divided double basses and a solo
bassoon, enhanced by divided violas, followed by gloomy comments from the woodwinds, before
swiftly changing into an edgy Allegronontroppo. Later it transformed into a blusterous section that
recalled a Russian liturgical chant. The second movement accented the idiosyncrasy of the work,
resembling a charming waltz while in fact it was not. The following scherzo grew rapidly into a
march that smashed fiercely until the very conclusion. The finale of the symphony was
characterized by an insistence on the minor mode and a closure perishing into

Comparing The Interconnection Of Poetry And Music In The...
The Interconnection of Poetry and Music in The Weary Blues
Langston Hughes s poem, The Weary Blues, is an example of an ekphrasis emulating a genre of
music, the blues. The poem has a musical feel, and its rhythm and tone imitate those of blues
music. The blues originated from African American culture and became popular towards the
end of slavery. Hughes communicates the cultural origin of blues music by focusing the poem
on a Negro who plays and sings blues music. However as the poem progresses, Hughes describes
actions that cannot be known by just listening to the Negro. In the last two lines of the poem, he
states what goes on in the Negro s head while sleeping and describes him as sleeping like a rock or
a man that s dead. Why does Hughes compare the way he sleeps to that of a dead man? How
does Hughes know what goes on in the Negro s head, and why does he end the poem with a
disturbing description of the Negro s sleeping state?
To understand the unusual comparison and disturbing ending, we need to see how Hughes
incorporates the features of blues music in the poem. The poem is written in free verse and has no
steady rhythm. Writing the poem without a consistent rhythm and in free verse relates to the
syncopated tune of blues music, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This connection does not just relate to their mutual pleasure for the blues, but as indicated by the
fifteenth line of the poem, Coming from a black man s soul, to their common racial identity,
being black. The racial emphasis is intensified by the facelessness of the man playing the music.
Hughes identifies him by Negro, a general name for blacks, and in the ninth line, With his ebony
hands on each ivory key, describes the dark color of his skin pointing again to his race. Hughes may
intentionally be using the racial emphasis to describe the history of blues music, which originated
from African American

The priest, with the three girls in white, walked down the center aisle as we sang. He then

reading. The student told us what we had to recite back to him throughout the reading. There
were about three different readings at different times also each one had a different phrase we
had to recite back. The priest read from Luke 6:42 King James Version, which stated Either how

thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam
out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother s
eye. The priest kissed the Bible at the end of the reading. We sang a few hymns and sat down. He
stepped off the stage onto the ground and talked about a saint you saved many slaves lives by
spreading the love of Jesus. He tried to connect the scripture to the story, but it was semi difficult
to understand how they connect. We then kneeled and the priest read another prayer to us.
Multiple times throughout the service we would sing a hymn, sit down and listened to readings
or the priest, lastly we would kneel and pray. They prepared communion at the front on the stage.

Stephen King Analysis
Stephen King was born in 1947 into a poor family that was later abandoned by his father. He
always had a passion for writing and became a high school teacher before he could kick start his
outstanding writing career says, Biography.com . Stephen King, a New York Times bestselling
novelist and one of the most well known authors of our time, was directly influenced by the
culture he grew up in and his own experiences in life. Here There Be Tygers is one of King s
earlier works and it emits strong similarities between the short storyand the culture he grew up in.
In 1974, a year after Stephen Kings mother died of cancer, King had published the short story
Sometimes They Come Back (DeFilippo 1). Around the same time, Stephen King s substance abuse
problem got worse. In The double edged pen: Omnipotent fantasies in the creativity and addictions
of Stephen King, King proposes, The death of his mother was one of the major factors that
propelled his drinking habits to another level (Kahoud 335). With those two things combined, death
and addiction, King was influenced. You can see this influence intermixed throughout the short
story Sometimes They Come Back and throughout many of his stories. In the story the tragedy of
his mother s cancer is seen throughout, for the main character s mother died of cancer as well
(King 2). The addiction is shown as well, through physical demons that drive the main character to

Generals in American history. The most important reasons for this were the leadership abilities,
morals, and attributes he developed throughout his life. He was born in northwestern Virginia in

Mother remarried but soon realized that she was not long for this world. She sent him to live with

He received citations for meritorious service and a promotion to Brevet Major. This stemmed
from his sense of duty, willingness to face danger, and by leading from the front. In the onset of
the Civil War, Jackson s sense of loyalty demanded that he fight for his state. He took charge of
rendezvous camp as a Colonel, drilling raw recruits at Harper s Ferry. He organized the Virginia
militias into disciplined units of the First Brigade. The opening battle to the Civil War was on
July 21 1861. The battle of First Manassas, also known as the battle of Bull Run started with the
Federals beating the Confederates. Henry House Hill was the last rallying possible rallying
point. It was a dire situation for the Confederacy. Jackson had heard the fighting from where he
was in Bull Run. He took initiative and moved off at once towards Henry Hill. Jackson emplaced
his artillery on the main crest of the hill. He then positioned his infantry on the backside of the hill.
This allowed his infantry to cover the gunners while staying out of sight. It was here that Jackson
earned his nickname of Stonewall . A fellow commander named Bee was retreating when he noticed
Jackson on the hill. He knew Jackson would hold. Then he told his troops to rally behind the
Virginians. Jackson s quick reaction and critical thinking allowed his fellow commanders to rally
their troops behind him, ultimately turning the tide of battle. In autumn 1861, Jackson took

The Pros And Cons Of Plastic Bags
Since 1985, America has been using plastic bags due to them being waterproof and having
handles making them easier to carry goods. Paper and plastic has always been a huge
controversy in super markets through the preference of customers. Some customers prefer
having the paper bags standing up straight in the trunks of their cars. Other customers prefer the
plastic bags because of the handles making it easier to walk home and carry their goods.
Although both preferences are fine, all customers know the dangers of the plastic bag. Banning
plastic bags from stores and replacing them with only paper or reusable bags, will reduce
corruption of organic products, reduce CO2 emissions from creation and destruction of the
plastic and prevent harm upon Earth and its creatures. Plastic bags were first designed in 1965
by a Swedish company which later became known as the T shirt plastic bag ; made from high
density polyethylene, but It was in the late 1970s when Plastic bags first began to terrorize the
well being of humanity. More and more supermarkets in America began handing out plastic bags
as if they were candy on Halloween. The more plastic bags humans use, the more natural
resources are being destroyed. There are two different types of plastic bags that one may find in
any supermarket, high density polyethylene (HDPE) or low density polyethylene (LDPE). There
isn t much difference between them besides the fact that LDPE would be the tougher and more
durable bags you might find in department stores as well as any regular supermarket. They both
require the same materials for creation such as oil, gas and coal (fossil fuels). Fossil fuels are
the prehistoric resources formed by plants and animals that lived hundreds of millions of years
ago. These fuels won t be replaced for another millions of years to come, that is why they re
called non renewable resources. Plastic is very valuable, but humans decide that is more than
okay to litter these valuable resources than to recycle it and prevent some of the corruption and
over usage of resources we may not have in a distant future. Although plastic bags, as well as paper
bags, can be recycled in order to postpone running out of resources, the creation and

What Is The Crime Of Aggression Is International Law
What is the crime of aggression in international law
Introduction
The Rome Statute marked historic moments of consensus in international criminal law in 2002 as it
entered into force. The first permanent international criminal Court (ICC) was established with the
main aim of ending impunity, promoting judicial independency and reaffirming the position of the
United Nations Charter (UNC).
The mandate of the Court is to try individuals and to hold such persons accountable for the most
serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole, namely the crime of genocide,
war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the crime of aggression, when the conditions for the

In 1998 Rome Statute negotiation, the crime of aggression was listed among the major crimes
under the Court s jurisdiction in Article 5 of the Rome Statute but did not power the Court to use
jurisdiction over the crime thus contrasting the other crimes(genocide, crimes against humanity and
war crimes). This was because the Statute did not define the crime or set out jurisdictional rules.
The Assembly of States Parties ( ASP ) created a Special Working Group on the Crime of
Aggression ( the Special Working Group ), to help in addressing such issues as the crime of
aggression. This was driven by the fact that the Preparatory Commissions formed by the Rome
Statute after the conclusion of the Rome Statute of June and July 1998, had not worked

1.1 Evolution of csr: A Short History
We believe that the leading global companies of 2020 will be those that provide goods and services
and reach new customers in ways that address the world s major challenges including poverty,
climate change, resource depletion, globalization, and demographic shifts.
Niall Fitzgerald, former ceo Chairman, Unilever
Debates over the concept of csr span from the 1930s to the 21st century. A debate over the
responsibilities of corporate managers and directors to their shareholders and other groups directly
influenced by corporations took place in North America during the 1930s, marking one of the first

Mapping Corporate Social Responsibility in Trinidad And Tobago
Also in many developed and developing countries, corruption is still widespread and there is a
general lack of transparency and accountability which all give momentum to the emergence of csr.
Finally, the growing awareness that csr is good for business has also aided its development. While
the primary role of corporate executives is to maximize shareholder value, the global marketplace,
where reputations matter deeply, dictates that shareholder value increasingly depends on corporate
values. Business leaders understand that practising corporate responsibility affects their corporate
reputation and brand image. Managers are becoming more and more aware that socially responsible
investors and activist shareholders can impact the bottom line. For example, company executives

Analysis Of Stephen A. Brighton s Article
Purpose: Stephen A. Brighton s article is primarily a portrayal of the steps that today s
archeologists are working to implement. According to the article, it is explained how
archeology have changed horizons compared to previous years. The case discussed in this
article focuses on the fact that in order for archeology to have greater impact in communities and
in general, it should deviate a bit from its merely scholar course to a more socially oriented
pathway, ruled by community collaboration and committed service to the underserved members
of the community. It states that former ways of archeology were not particularly focused on
social that is why occasionally the most oppressed members of the society were excluded and
deprived of their rights. This flaw is now being improved. Therefore, this article is aimed to
expose the way modern archeology works to empower the people to stand for their heritage and
fight for social justice in spite of political policies without neglecting the ethical guidelines of the
profession. Population of Study: Brighton s article explores the field of study of public
archeology on the area of the Town of Texas in the region of Baltimore County in Maryland. The
project focuses on a specific ethnic group: the earliest settlers of the area who were mainly
emigrants from Ireland that populated the area from the last half of the 19th century to the 20th
century. The Irish population migrated as a result of land tenure difficulties and lack of

The Effect Of Temperature Affect The Metabolic Rate Of...
I. Introduction
Temperature can greatly affect the metabolic rate of Carassius auratus auratus (goldfish). Carassius
auratus auratus(goldfish) are native to eastern Asia and was first discovered by the Chinese. Unlike
homoiotherm, Carassius auratus auratus(goldfish) are ectothermic, which means they adjust to
their surrounding temperature. In this lab, the dependent variable is the rate of breath per 15
seconds and the independent variable is the temperature in Celsius. Since Carassius auratus auratus
are ectothermic then their metabolic rate must go up as the temperature increase and goes down
when the temperature decrease.
II. Method
The material needed to recreate this lab is one goldfish in a cup big enough for the fish to swim in, a
bowl filled with water, one cup of ice, and one thermometer. Place the cup with the goldfish into
the bowl filled with water. Measure the temperature of the water in the bowl with the
thermometer to find the room temperature and after when you added the ice to cool the water
down. The room temperature should be around 20 degrees Celsius. Wait for 3 minutes for the
goldfish to adjust to the environment. Count the number of breaths of the goldfish per 15
seconds by counting the number of times when the gill cover open and close. Slowly added the
ice to the bowl to cool down the water temperature. Repeat the process for 20 degrees Celsius, 17.5
degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius.
III. Result
As the temperature gradually decreases, the

Jane Eyre Settings
Mysterious, complex, and utterly captivating, Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre constantly leaves the
reader with more questions than answers. The book consists of constant plot twists, all of which
eventually make sense in the end. Perhaps what is most fascinating about Jane Eyre is the setting
behind it. Throughout the novel, Jane Eyretravels to many places over multiple years. Through
analysis it is clear that these different settings relate to each period and development in her life.
Commonly contrasting and seemingly insignificant, the details behind locations such as Thornfield
and Ferndean allow Bronte to develop Jane as a character as well as create a deeper meaning
behind her work. Thornfield and Ferndean are contrasting in both their literal and metaphorical
meanings. When the compound words of each title are broken apart, additional insight can be
found. The Thorn in Thornfield gives off a negative vibe as not many enjoy encountering thorns.
Despite this, when Jane first arrives at Thornfield, she is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thornfield is a grand mansion when compared to the countryside manor of Ferndean. However,
its is Ferndean which feels more homely. This is due to Thornfield s cold manor setting, the
appearance of the building itself being uninviting. Ferndean is a merry and carefree atmosphere
when compared to Thornfield. Jane describes her time at Ferndean in the following, Most of the
morning was spent in the open air. I led him out of the wet and wild wood into some cheerful
fields: I described to him how brilliantly green they were; how the flowers and the hedges looked
refreshed; how sparklingly blue was the sky (478). The images presented are light and insouciant.
Bronte also writes this time at Ferndean as in the spring, a common symbol for rebirth. Despite its
ornateness, Thornfield is an atmosphere of depression, clearly a dark time for

Abstract
The intent of this paper is to describe three natural disasters; for this paper we will describe a
hurricane, an earthquake and a mudslide. We will briefly discuss how, or if, our ancestors were
able to predict and therefore mitigate loss of life or damage to infrastructure for these types of
disasters 100 years ago. Then we will look at how our modern society is able to accomplish this in
current times. Finally, we will cover how we could better predict future events and plan
accordingly. We will explore the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

warning on weather systems that could develop into tropical depressions with the potential to

Physical Therapy Ethics
Segment One Values, Ethics, and Behavior of Physical Therapy To be a successful physical
therapist, a person must have seven core values outline by the American Physical Therapy
Association. The seven core values from accountability to social responsibility shows what needs
to be important in the eyes of a physical therapist. The individual must also follow a strict code of
ethics outlined by certain rules and procedures. The code of ethics shows the obligation that a
physical therapist makes to their patients. Finally, for the individual to fully successes in any

These rules set the ethical obligations determined by the APTA. The rules are set into eight
principles that follow the seven core values. As stated by the code of ethics, it defines the ethical
principles that form the foundation oh physical therapist practice in patient/ client management,
consultation, education, research, and administration. The first of eight principles state that
physical therapists shall respect the inherent dignity and rights of all individuals. This means that
confidential information must remain between the patient and PT. Second principle is physical
therapists shall be trustworthy and compassionate in addressing the right and needs of patients

the client. Principle three says how Physical therapists shall be accountable for making sound
professional judgments. This means that PT needs to always be making the right choice and
how to approach rehabilitation for different patients. The last important principle is that physical
therapist always need to be relearning and refining their knowledge, skills, and abilities. The
education aspect of becoming a PT is life long as new research is being developed every year. The

Nazca Research Paper
Nazca Traveling somewhere new and gaining new experiences is exceedingly beneficial.
Challenging yourself, expanding your perspective, and learning about new cultures are just
some of the benefits. If I could travel anywhere in the world where would I go? Somewhere like
the beach or the mountains? The one place I would choose to visit is the town of Nazca. This
town is specifically known for The Nazca Lines. The Nazca lines are large geoglyphs created by
removing large amounts of rock and dirt, located in the Peruvian Desert within southern Peru.
These lines are believed to be created by the Nazca tribe somewhere between 500 BC and 500 AD.
the lines were discovered by Peruvian archaeologist Toribio Mejia Xesspe in 1927. The nazca lines
depict creatures such as fish, birds, and other animals. They are said to be made up over 800

According to some scientist and conspiracist these lines were created to attract aliens. Others
believe it was a monument to their gods. However the biggest mystery is how the Nazca people
were able to create such precise geoglyphs without an aerial view. The largest figure stretches
about 200 meters long. There are some scholars who believe that the Nazca Lines is one of the
earliest examples of applied geometry. Tens of thousands of visitors vacation there every year. Other
than the preeminent architectural sites another entrancing point is the Nazca Channels. The ancient
Nazca people created an underground aqueduct system irrigates the drylands. However, undeterred
by this harsh climate the Nazcas, aided by the aqueducts were able to grow cotton fields, corn,
beans, potatoes, and numerous fruits. For the Nazcas when it came to pottery and textiles they

The Soweto Uprising was one of the worst events in the history of education with a lot of young

Did this event change education in South Africa?
The event of the Soweto Uprising was on the day of June 16th 1976/ June 16th 1976, students from
the township of Soweto gathered in front of their school. The original plan was for student from all
over Soweto to have a march to the Department of Bantu Education, and deliver a message about
their complaint. They complained about the fact that Afrikaans would be the medium of
instructions in all the schools. Learners could not understand the subjects and this created an issue.
Police then got the order to shoot and kill the protesting students. Seven hundred students died that
day and the 13 year old Hector Peterson was the symbol of the uprising. The uprising changed

The Theory Of Computational Design Thinking

ARC 5205 Advanced Theory Professor Neil Leach
Computational Design Thinking
The dominance of computational programs in the architectural career has become dominant
throughout the years. It could be said that it has taken over the entire practice and that the human
aspect had been taken out completely. In the book Computational Design Thinking, by Achim
Menges and Sean Ahlquist this is discussed. It is important to understand how certain things work
in an environment in other to comprehend how a design computer system actually works. In order
to do so, a system generating a system, history and cybernetics, and how the machine and men
interact needs to be analyzed. In doing so, it is determined that one cannot exist without the other.
A system generating a systems dominates the idea of computational design. A system has to ideas
explained in the book. The first idea is a system as a whole. The system as a whole refers to a
particular holistic view of a single thing. While a generating system does not refer to a single
thing; but a combination of things that include rules that are capable of generating many things. A
system can only become a system if it has a holistic property. Meaning that if the object could have
different meaning depending the approach. For example a flower; when given as a gift it is just a
flower. It is not thought of as a system it is just an object to the receiver. If the same flower is
looked about in a different way it

Finally, the large brewers were increasingly successful by creating another point of differentiation.
They attracted more consumers as the big brewers had the capacity to package beers in different
sizes and therefore also appeal to consumers who drank beer in small amounts or slowly as well as
packaged in different numbers to cater to the growing population of drinkers who consumed at
home.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The following recommendation was concluded by the team members :
Craft beer should not only be sold as premium beer among graduates and people with income of
more than 75000 USD but also to people with moderate income.
Brewing substitute products, for example, flavored premium craft beer
Take over of companies that produced alcoholic beverages (spirits and champagne) and non
alcoholic beverages (such as soft drinks, juices and coffee)
Microbrewers should concentrate more on the following attributes of the beer: quality, freshness,
distinctiveness and variety of product offers, in order to gain more customers.
Craft beer companies should focus more on young professionals, since they are in the target group
of those identified to consume much craft beer. Furthermore, white Americans should be targeted as
well.
Craft beer companies should do much publicity to raise awareness of craft

I ve been smoking it all the time since (3.16). This shows the reader that having Bob as a friend
made it convenient for Charlie to get drugs. Coming of age is a time in a person s life when they
gradually transition from a child to an adult and become more mature. This has an important role
in charlie s exploration of drugs as during this time period teenagers usually go through a lot of
trails and obstacles, questioning themselves about what they really want or do. Charlie can be
seen going through these trials as he thinks to himself that Maybe my whole family has been

at its peak and he s conflicting with himself as wants an excuse not to stop so he wondered to

to that Charlie also remembers his aunt and her alcohol abuse saying My aunt Helen drank a lot.

Russell s Theory Of Denoting In The Principles Of Mathematics
2.1.2. Problem with the Theory of Denoting in The Principles of Mathematics:
Russell s theory of denoting as exposed in The Principles of Mathematics considers that whatever
can be mentioned is a thing or a term i.e., an object. Thus, things, whether exist(like, the present
queen of England) or not (like, the golden mountain) have being if it can be used as the logical
subject of a proposition. This view of Russell is closely akin to that of Meinong s. However, there
are some points of disagreement too. Two main theses of Meinong s theory of object ( Гњber
Gegenstandstheorie) are i) There are objects that do not exist. (T1) ii) Every object that does not
exist is yet constituted in some way or other and thus may be made the subject of a true
predication. (T2) This is, in fact, the doctrine of Aussersen independence of sosein (character) from
sein (being). Meinong thinks, even if an object happens to be unthinkable, it is something having at
least the property of being unthinkable. And, whether or not something exists or has any other
kind of being, it is an object i.e., something about which one is conscious, according to Meinong.
Russell s view at the time of The Principles of Mathematics, resembles Meinong s in that Russell
also holds that every object of thought has some being. In The Principles of Mathematics , Russell

outcomes based on family accommodations. With that being said, the study investigates the
association between family accommodation and treatment outcome in a relatively large sample of

how effective the treatment actually was and what impact it had. The prediction is that the majority

A lot of issues to be addressed. However, I have put together a four point plan that will begin to
move us in the direction of progress. First, let us reduce the cost of textbooks. Because no
student who has made it this far should bear the uncertainty of whether or not they will have
enough to get a textbook and have their education potentially shut down due to rising textbook
cost. Second, let us establish fiscal responsibility. As your Senator, I will guarantee that your
money is spent wisely on programs that will benefit each and every one of you. Third, let us
work toward bringing new career internship opportunities for all of you here on campus. These
opportunities will be able to provide you all with job experience within an area you would like to
pursue in the future. And finally, let us bring more inclusiveness to the Class of 2020. As your
Senator, I will host Freshman town halls every month to truly understand the issues you all face
here on a daily basis. But, also to hear your voices and

Summary Of The First Thing I Am Going About The Apartment
I m going to ask Johannes if we can see the apartment again before we fly home so I can to take
room and window measurements. Honey, that s a great idea, I can t wait to decorate, I said with
great enthusiasm. I won t be able to sleep tonight. I just love the kitchen. I can t believe it has
granite counters and beautiful wooden cabinetry. It s obvious that an American had a hand in
designing the apartment. We must open a bank account in Marsciano, Vince replied, without
reacting to my comment. I am sure that Johannes will help us with that. More than likely, we will
have to give him the earnest deposit immediately. The first thing I am going to do I continued with

There were several mom and pop butcher shops, clothing stores, banks, bakeries and a few small
shops selling specialty items from the area. It seemed that anything our hearts desired or we
required to set up our home was available in Marsciano. In an industrial neighborhood closer to
approaching the highway, I noticed a warehouse that appeared to be a Second Hand store. I was
so excited and asked Vince to stop so I could investigate. The huge store was filled to the rafters
with used furniture, house hold items, mirrors, doors, wrought iron and decorative objects. I was
looking forward to hunting for treasures when it was time to move in!
I must admit that we were exhausted when we arrived at B B Garibaldi. It had been an incredible
day, an important day, a successful day! Our search for our Italian Dream Home was over!
WE BOUGHT A HOME IN ITALY
Bright and early the next morning, we returned to Marsciano for our meeting with Johannes.
Vince drove to the Rosetti Coffee Bar as if he had driven there a million times. Although the
coffee bar was located next to a tire shop in the industrial neighborhood, it was also across the
street from a winery and the freshly brewed coffee smelled divine, the warm cornetti and pastries
looked temptingly delicious. Johannes arrived just as we were getting out of the car. He greeted us
enthusiastically and ordered cappuccinos while I settled at a suitable table for us to conduct

Organizational Styles Used Before And Afterwards
Organizational Styles used before and afterwards In Air Speed Journey
In this case study, AIR Speed Journey by Goldartt explained the transition of methodologies took
place by Naval Aviation Enterprises (NAE) in 2001. This transition was to achieve the Goal to
make the aircraft ready at the right time, right place and in the right configuration. To accomplish
this Goal, NAE was facing many troubles such as increased demand by 10%, cost cuts up to
$1.5billion, inventory and maintenance of aircraft. Uncertainty of demand increased the inventory
and operating expenses. To achieve reduction in inventory and maintenance cost any organizations
not only require to increase the speed of production, but likewise the production should be in ...

Implementation of different methodology
In Air Speed Journey
A.The series form in which the methodologies were implemented and result achieved using them
are as follows.
1.Naval Air Station in San Diego first implemented the Theory of Constraints in 2002 which reduce
the repairs by 80%, maintenance by 15%, wait time by 95% and eliminated out of stock. Theory
of Constraints (TOC) was invented by Dr. Goldartt in his book The Goal which states that the
processes are interdependent and demand is variable, hence to achieve the Goal or profit,
integration of the processes is a most important step. In other words linking the supplier, processes
and customers to get faster, better and cheaper product. Theory of Constraints is used to see the
bottleneck which slows down the process and reorganizing them to reach a gain.
2.And so they implemented Lean in 2004, in their repair division which reduced workplace. Lean
manufacturing is applied to get rid of all non value added steps of the procedure so that providing
the best merchandise to clients. Lean was first invented by International Motor Vehicle Program but
Taiichi Ohno had already implemented Lean in Toyota Production system. Ohno eliminated seven
wastes such as overproduction, over processing, delay, inventories, defective parts, transportation
and movements. Lean consists of many tools such as just in time, Kanban and etc.

In what way(s) is Japanese religion as much a matter of practice as it is beliefs ? And, if applicable,
are you able to step back and find ways in which your own habits, practices, or ways of acting in
the world are perhaps more religious than you may have thought?
Japanese religion is not just one religion. Within the reading it says there are as many Japanese
religions as there are Japanese people. (PAGE 6) This means that in Japanese culture one does
not have to associate themselves with just one religion. The practices that the Japanese people
take part in are festivals. Families will attend festivals of all religions. The families will also take

The Main Assumptions Of Family Social Exchange Theory
Family Social Exchange theory is the idea that social change and stability represent a process of
cost and benefit between the two parties or individuals: how much effort is put into the relationship
versus how much effort our companion is contributing. This theory proposes that in order to
understand one another and the choices made by them, we must understand what that individuals
finds to be motivating or rewarding.
Main Assumptions As there are many assumptions on social exchange, one of the assumptions to
know is that people are motivated by self interest. Meaning that we seek things or relationships
that are beneficial to ourselves. Like weighing the cost and rewards of a relationship or product
that is bought for a purpose. Thus, we, as human being finds more pleasurable to engage in a
relationship or interactions that will be more beneficial and rewarding, while avoiding the least
cost or punishment. When people choose to help others, they do so because of personal gain
they expect to obtain from doing so. An example could be that someone might feel that their job
takes advantage of them and therefore, that person decides to quit the job and look for another
job if they think that they could get a better job for the same about of effort. An example of this
explanations is that my co worker, who worked with me at Taco Bell decides to quit her job at
Taco Bell because she felt that there was just too much work and the customers are mean. Instead
she found another job

The Role Of Gap Years Essay
The role of gap years to earn a higher education is a controversial idea. Many people feel it is
important to take on Europe s natural participation in the gap year after high school. For
countless years, Europeans have practiced gap years before college to help a graduate grow.
Prince William of Europe took his beneficial gap year, helping the idea to spread to America
(Kelly para. 1) British influences have been leading America to a stronger future, and taking a gap
year after high schoolis now being adopted by the States. Certain students participating in the gap
year enhance their emotional and physical states before entering college. Also, some believe that
taking a gap year will influence the student to reject a higher education. On the other hand, taking a
gap year after high school can be expensive, but the experiences you receive from it are priceless.
Based on these different perspectives, I most closely agree with the fact that taking a break from
school before jumping into a higher educationcan help a graduate grow and find themselves.
Many people believe taking a gap year after high school will discourage a higher education
because the student is not likely to go back to school after taking a break. Due to this thought,
parents of new graduates are not openly supportive of gap years. Cases of students who take a gap
year and do not pursue a higher education are the ones thrown into the spotlight. The wide concern
of students giving up their

Assasination Vacation Essay
When the topic comes to presidential assassins, most people will not use the word amusing and
assassins in the same sentence; however; Dan Danbom, a reporter for the Rocky Mountain News,
proved otherwise and stated that Vowell has succeeded in creating a humorous historical context by
writing I can confidently say that Sarah Vowel s AssassinationVacation is the most amusing book
you ll read this year about presidential assassinations(Danbom). Sarah Vowel s purpose of
Assassination Vacation is to allow readers to have a look at both sides of history to shed light on
the assassins, to reanimate moments lost to history, and to make her book more interesting by using
her unique style of writing; although she fails miserably by adding in... Show more content on

Looking at both side of the assassination gives the reader the normal idea that everyone has the
idea that whatever the assassins had in mind were wrong and that assassination the president was a
wrong doing that could not be condoned as well as the side of the assassins; which looks into how
they think and the reasons they do it for.
Vowell was successful in terms of reanimating the moments that are lost to history by rummaging
around for historical artifacts that have survived, passed on, and been saved from the moments
of the assassination. Vowell traveled from Philadelphia to New York to examine the specimens
of Booth and Guiteau, where she asked the curator how the museum came into possession of
Booth s remnants (Vowell.94). Vowell then found out from Worden, the museum s director, that
the Piece of the thorax of John Wilkes Booth could not have came from the thorax after she
performed an autopsy by herself (Vowell 94). By saving this piece of Booth, it allows later
examination to reexamine what part of body part this actually is. Saving a piece of the body, such
as the brain, of the assassin also allows later testing to be able to find out something that couldn t
have been tested out before. ...It was

Influence of Romanticism in the Contemporary Shows True...
Imagine a life in the 18th century when a revolution is taking place that exercises freedom,
emotional liberty and importance of oneself. When the Romantic Era hit many individuals were
becoming aware of a movement of intense emotion and became interested in unfamiliar and exotic
experiences. Many of these experiences in which, brought to light a whole new world of darkness
and strong emotions such as apprehension and terror. Romanticism in the 18th centurysparked
imagination; Imagination that was perceived as the ultimate power (see reference). Fast forwarding
to contemporary culture, many of these examples of romanticism are seen in shows such as True

Violet is a girl that is in touch with her gothic side and is more interested in the mansion than
scared of it. Violet is misunderstood by many but she likes Tate because he understands her.
Violet says to Tate I used to think you were like me. You were attracted to the darkness. But Tate,
you are the darkness. This is when she realizes that he is not among the living like she is. There
is a scene where she cannot withstand the pressures anymore and Tate finds her cutting herself.
Tate says You re doing it wrong, if you re trying to kill yourself you cut vertically, they can t
stitch that up . Tate loves Violet, so he does not mind if she dies because that would mean he can
stay with her in the mansion forever. That quote coming from Tate would surprise anyone who
hears it because it s a different and creepy type of love that Tate feels for Violet because he wishes
death upon someone he loves. I believe that Romanticism is displayed here in the sense that
Violet wants emotional liberty and has a special ghost that supports her through it. Tim Burton s
The Nightmare Before Christmas portrays a more kid friendly aspect of Romanticism. The
imagination behind this movie is remarkable and paints unfamiliar pictures but since it is
animated it takes away from it being so scary to more funny. A good portion of the movie is
expressed in music and the lyrics to the songs are eye opening to say the least. When Jack leaves

How To Read As A Symbol Of Ignorance
To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark (Victor Hugo). As
Sherman Alexie discovers reading, the passion for it grows, and saves his life from the misery
around him. Frederick Douglass, who frees himself by pursuing the flame that starts with the first
word he reads. And William Stafford sets flame to books in his poem, unwritten books of
ignorance. Reading makes a person realize one s position in society, defy it and the ignorance of
the world, it complements with writing, as the one does not exist without the other, making one
ignorant until both have been learned. As a young boy, Sherman Alexie defies stereotypes about
Indians and reads from passion and to save his life, until becoming a well known... Show more

In the poem, Stafford depicts books as a symbol of ignorance and believes they should be burnt
as he writes a verse of imagery about them turning to ashes. However he mostly judges people for
not writing anymore and finds it disturbing to see whole libraries that no one got around to
writing. The poem interests the reader mostly because of the time during which it was written:
1987. This was during the Cold War, a time of tension between the USA and Russia, who begin to
build nuclear weapons to destroy one another. During this time, people show more interest in
knowing what is going on in the news, rather than spending their time writing books, meaning that
not as many books were being written. Also, a part of the books that were made were from the
government who used propaganda. This demonstrates how the time period has a big impact on the
opinion of writers. In this case, William Stafford wants to burn propaganda books which he
interprets as ignorant because they do not always show the truth and wants to encourage people to
write smart texts that contribute to

Extorstion Of Extortion
Extortion is a serious issue in South Korea. It impedes economic growth, weakens the rule of law
and undermines the legitimacy of institutions. According to 2016 statics Corruption Perception
Index of Transparency International, South Korea ranked 52nd place out of 176 countries First
topic up for briefing discusses some major scandals committed by officialofficial s during the 20th
century. Next, we ll talk about Korea s most recent scandals involving former president Park.
Given the high level of corruption that occurred in Korea s political office parliament still
managed to minimize chaos and maintain economic stability, we will discuss how that was
feasible. Lastly, we discuss some ramification s for Korean democracy due to Park s removal and
how president Moon s plans to preserve the peace.
There s no denying that in a little more than half a century; South Korea amazingly managed to
produce the most remarkable economic turnaround; transforming itself from one of the poorest
developing countries, into a technical industry. That said, South Korea remains no stranger to local
corruption with the vast majority of elected officials forced out of office as a result of
impeachment or resigning for criminal actions. It is believed that the altering of the constitution in
1987 limiting presidential terms to a single five year term is linked to the numerous scandals
which took place. First up is president Kim Dae Jung the first president elected during the 20th

In a Q A with Walter Bockting, PhD, a member of the APA Task Force on Guidelines for
Psychological Practice with Transgender and Gender Non Conforming Clients. he further explained
the differences between transgender, gender identity, and sexual orientation (APA). According to
Bockting, a transgender means having a gender identity that differs from the sex assigned at birth.
Then continues by stating, gender identity is the basic conviction of being man, woman, or other.
He lastly defines sexual orientation as to one s sexual attraction, behavior, and emotional
attachments to men, women, or both. All of these are his psychological definitions, which he
mainly uses when discussing the challenges transgender people face. In attribute to social stress,
transgender people are more vulnerable to symptoms of depression and anxiety (APA). They also
struggle with self esteem, they ask themselves questions on why they should be who they are if
society is saying NO.Understanding and compassionate mental health providers have often been an
important part of that. This bill has caused so many to speak out, transgenders and their supporters
have protested, made speeches, tweeted, they have done anything to get the word out for what
they believe in. A transgender man, Joaquin Carcano, has definitely had a lot to say, but he spoke

Analysis Of What Dreams May Come
What Dreams May Come Vincent Ward s What Dreams May Come breathed brilliant life into
the tragic story of a family pulled apart by death and the journey one man makes through heaven
and even hell to save his soul mate, based from the book, What Dreams May Come by Richard
Matheson. This movie is boldly beautiful and a rollercoaster of feelings that brings you to the
emotional edge but sadly doesn t quite get us all the way over. In the beginning of the movies,
events occur rather quickly. Chris and Annie, unbelievably effective and heartbreakingly
performed by Robin Williams and Annabella Sciorra, meet as there boats collide into each other
on a lake; from there the two fall in love, become married and have two children. The children...

His idea in this particular story is that heaven is built in a state of uncertainty. Those who are there
see and experience that things and people that they wish to see or do. The meaning behind thus, is
that Heaven is becoming who you want to be (Ebert). As Albert says in the filmHell is a place for
those who don t know they are dead. Souls who do not accept death or unable to comprehend it
are those who end up in hell. In the movie, as Chris travels the road to hell, he sees that the road
is paved with faces who are bitter and damned. Along the way he also hears the voice of his father
who is played by german director Werner Herzog (Ebert).
Even though the film ends in the common obligatory happily ever after fashion to which doesn t
appeal to the rest of the movie, it is nevertheless a fantastic film. It is truly a wonderful work of art
that translates the book in accurate proportions, which seems to be rare in the hollywood industry.
Like other works of Ward s the film ends with Chris and Anne seeking their destiny. The cathedral in
the ending scene, similar to the other awing images in the film, is breathtaking, however it is upside
down. The film wonderfully explores the ideas of destiny, death, human perception, man s wisdom
and nature. The digital artwork and incredibly touching performances; heighten all

BREXIT, what is certain is that there will be an increase in restrictions and introduction of
political borders should BREXIT were to happen which will result in an increase in cost of trade
and services. EU remains the largest market for Britain s exports, constituting 40 45% of its
exports. As such, UK s primary goal would likely to retain access to the EU s internal market, but
in all likelihood it would be difficult to gain liberal trade terms from the EU if BREXIT

Unpacking Spinoza s Ontological Argument
Unpacking Spinoza s Ontological Argument in Regards to Monism
Baruch Spinoza was a Dutch philosopher who was active in the mid to late 17th century. In
Spinoza s ontological argument he attempts to prove the existence of God as the root of all things
that everything is created from as well as proving that God is the only true substance. According to
Spinoza, It pertains to the nature of a substance to exist (Spinoza). This means that Spinoza believes
existence is a necessary property of any single thing. Everything that exists is a substance or an
affection (mode). This disagrees with other philosophers discussed throughout the course, such as
Kant, who felt that existing was not a necessary property and that it could not be assumed ... Show

This means that existence is an inherent property of every substance and that existence is an
attribute of every substance.
Secondly, Spinoza claims that, Two substances having different attributes have nothing in common
with one another (Spinoza). He uses Definition 3 to justify this claim: By substance I understand
what is in itself and is conceived through itself, i.e., that whose concept does not require the concept
of another thing, from which it must be formed (Spinoza). In this Spinoza states that this substance
is made up entirely of itself whilst simultaneously having been created by itself. Since the substance
is created from itself, it is impossible for it to have been conceived by something else and therefore
cannot share the same attributes as another substance.
Spinoza also states that If things have nothing in common with one another, one of them cannot be
the cause of the other (Spinoza). According to Axiom 5, because these things have nothing in
common, they cannot be understood through the other substance meaning that they cannot be the
cause. Additionally, since Definition 3 makes it clear that the substance is entirely created from
itself it is not possible for things that have nothing in common with one another to be the cause of its

  • 2. Definitions Of A Computer Network Define and explain the following terminologies Computer network: In a computer network, relevant equipment is interconnected through the usage of wires or wireless mechanisms in order to exchange data. In particular, a computer network allows for info and data to be exchanged, at an instance, from one interconnected spot to another. In such case, a client /server system applies; a terminal is directly connected to a relevant local area network (LAN). In contemporaneous business doing, computers are usually connected through LAN to shared office resources (i.e. software) located on a relevant office server that allows for interconnection of users, who can use available office resources via terminals that act as connection points (Kuross ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a LAN, terminals can be connected to a central terminal (i.e. computer) that may act as the means for the particular network to achieve external intercommunication as well. In such case, a LAN of a certain building A can be interconnected to the LAN of a certain building B through a local area network to local area network infrastructure. Such interconnection is highly useful and significant when in need to save cost by sharing a printer, for example, between departments that would need, otherwise, separate printing devices (Kuross Ross, 2005, p.34). Metropolitan area networks (MANs) In a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), parties (i.e. companies, individuals, etc.) can be interconnected with each other and connect to the Internet in an area of up to 50 kilometers. In a MAN, local area networks can be interconnected with a metropolitan area network through appropriate network infrastructure consisting of fiber optic links that allow for fast interconnection between client/server LAN and for a connection to a relevant Internet Service Provider. The usage of a MAN, allows for companies to have access to ISP services and to the software that is being hosted in an ISP although being off site (Kuross Ross, 2005, p.35). Wide area networks (WANs) Wide Area Networks constitute the next stage of MANs; interconnections between computer networks have no geographical limit and can extend to cities, prefectures, countries and the whole world. • 3. The Gilded Age, And The Gilded Age In science, we have been taught that for every action there is a reaction. However, this can also be applied to history. For example, after the French and Indian War, Britain had enforced the navigation laws and taxes in order to pay for the war debt. This had caused a huge reaction from the colonies from as simple as boycotting British goods all the way to declaring their independence in 1776. Individuals can also help bring forth these dramatic changes such as Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. who help fought for civil rights. Thus, throughout the United States history, the nation has gone through a variety of changes. Although presidents have played a significant role in the nation s changes, many individuals have also brought changes to the nation s economy, government, and society. In addition to heroes like Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr, another individual includes Upton Sinclairand his contribution to consumer protection. The Gilded Age, a phrase coined by Mark Twain, was used to describe the government and its corruption. Like its name, the nation looked glamorous from the outside, but was full of corruption and political scandals on the inside such as the Credit Mobilier scandal and Boss Tweed scandal. Government at this time did little to help the nation, for its own congressmen were involved in the mix of these corruptions. The government supported laissez faire, which believed that the government should not regulate business and Social Darwinism survival of the fittest. As a result, this had led to the suppression of individual rights, for there were no laws to limit the power of monopolies. Therefore, the Gilded Age became known as corrupt, for the government had favored big businesses and focused less on the working class. However, this would all change during the Progressive Era. In contrast of the Gilded Age, the Progressive Era was a response to the problems that were created by the Gilded Age. Unlike the Gilded Age, the Progressive Era did not support laissez faire and rejected the idea of Social Darwinism. Thus in 1901, Theodore Roosevelt was elected president and came into office with his Square Deal policy. Included in this policy were Roosevelt s three C s control ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Tchaikovsky Symphony 6 Essay General reaction: I was fascinated by the magnificence of David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center and elated by the magnitude and grandeur of the sound that the New York Philharmonic succeeded to produce. Composition I liked best: The piece that enchanted me most was Symphony No. 6 in B Minor, Op. 74 Pathetique by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, a four movement work composed of Adagio Allegro non troppo in sonata form, Allegro con grazia in ternary form, Allegro molto vivace in sonata form, and Adagio lamentoso in ternary form with diverse tempos. The symphony was composed between February and the end of August 1893 and premiered close to the time of Tchaikovsky s death. Tchaikovsky dedicated that work to his nephew Bob Davydov. The subtitle Pathetique (infused with pathos, full of feelings) was suggested by the composer s brother shortly after the symphony s premiere. The last symphony by one of the greatest Russian composers Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky delved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For a reason the composer considered Symphony No. 6 the best work he had ever produced. It arose slowly from emptiness with the unexpected sound of divided double basses and a solo bassoon, enhanced by divided violas, followed by gloomy comments from the woodwinds, before swiftly changing into an edgy Allegronontroppo. Later it transformed into a blusterous section that recalled a Russian liturgical chant. The second movement accented the idiosyncrasy of the work, resembling a charming waltz while in fact it was not. The following scherzo grew rapidly into a march that smashed fiercely until the very conclusion. The finale of the symphony was characterized by an insistence on the minor mode and a closure perishing into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Comparing The Interconnection Of Poetry And Music In The... The Interconnection of Poetry and Music in The Weary Blues Langston Hughes s poem, The Weary Blues, is an example of an ekphrasis emulating a genre of music, the blues. The poem has a musical feel, and its rhythm and tone imitate those of blues music. The blues originated from African American culture and became popular towards the end of slavery. Hughes communicates the cultural origin of blues music by focusing the poem on a Negro who plays and sings blues music. However as the poem progresses, Hughes describes actions that cannot be known by just listening to the Negro. In the last two lines of the poem, he states what goes on in the Negro s head while sleeping and describes him as sleeping like a rock or a man that s dead. Why does Hughes compare the way he sleeps to that of a dead man? How does Hughes know what goes on in the Negro s head, and why does he end the poem with a disturbing description of the Negro s sleeping state? To understand the unusual comparison and disturbing ending, we need to see how Hughes incorporates the features of blues music in the poem. The poem is written in free verse and has no steady rhythm. Most of them could be connected back to the organized crime families. Alphonse Gabriel Al Capone was a gangster who led illegal activities such as the smuggling and the bootlegging of alcohol during the prohibition. Even though he had a tough exterior he was a caring man he was the first to open up a soup kitchen in Chicago (hammer). Capone s estimated annual revenue was around 100 million dollars. He had many men working for him such as Frank Nitti, August Pisano and Louis Morganno. He supplied Chicago with most of its alcohol. (Capone: the man and his era). He organized the Virginia militias into disciplined units of the First Brigade. The opening battle to the Civil War was on July 21 1861. The battle of First Manassas, also known as the battle of Bull Run started with the Federals beating the Confederates. Henry House Hill was the last rallying possible rallying point. It was a dire situation for the Confederacy. Jackson had heard the fighting from where he was in Bull Run. He took initiative and moved off at once towards Henry Hill. Jackson emplaced his artillery on the main crest of the hill. He then positioned his infantry on the backside of the hill. This allowed his infantry to cover the gunners while staying out of sight. It was here that Jackson earned his nickname of Stonewall . A fellow commander named Bee was retreating when he noticed Jackson on the hill. He knew Jackson would hold. Then he told his troops to rally behind the Virginians. Jackson s quick reaction and critical thinking allowed his fellow commanders to rally their troops behind him, ultimately turning the tide of battle. In autumn 1861, Jackson took command ... • 18. The Pros And Cons Of Plastic Bags Since 1985, America has been using plastic bags due to them being waterproof and having handles making them easier to carry goods. Paper and plastic has always been a huge controversy in super markets through the preference of customers. Some customers prefer having the paper bags standing up straight in the trunks of their cars. Other customers prefer the plastic bags because of the handles making it easier to walk home and carry their goods. Although both preferences are fine, all customers know the dangers of the plastic bag. Banning plastic bags from stores and replacing them with only paper or reusable bags, will reduce corruption of organic products, reduce CO2 emissions from creation and destruction of the plastic and prevent harm upon Earth and its creatures. Plastic bags were first designed in 1965 by a Swedish company which later became known as the T shirt plastic bag ; made from high density polyethylene, but It was in the late 1970s when Plastic bags first began to terrorize the well being of humanity. More and more supermarkets in America began handing out plastic bags as if they were candy on Halloween. The more plastic bags humans use, the more natural resources are being destroyed. There are two different types of plastic bags that one may find in any supermarket, high density polyethylene (HDPE) or low density polyethylene (LDPE). There isn t much difference between them besides the fact that LDPE would be the tougher and more durable bags you might find in department stores as well as any regular supermarket. They both require the same materials for creation such as oil, gas and coal (fossil fuels). Fossil fuels are the prehistoric resources formed by plants and animals that lived hundreds of millions of years ago. These fuels won t be replaced for another millions of years to come, that is why they re called non renewable resources. Plastic is very valuable, but humans decide that is more than okay to litter these valuable resources than to recycle it and prevent some of the corruption and over usage of resources we may not have in a distant future. Although plastic bags, as well as paper bags, can be recycled in order to postpone running out of resources, the creation and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. What Is The Crime Of Aggression Is International Law What is the crime of aggression in international law Introduction The Rome Statute marked historic moments of consensus in international criminal law in 2002 as it entered into force. The first permanent international criminal Court (ICC) was established with the main aim of ending impunity, promoting judicial independency and reaffirming the position of the United Nations Charter (UNC). The mandate of the Court is to try individuals and to hold such persons accountable for the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole, namely the crime of genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the crime of aggression, when the conditions for the exercise of the Court s jurisdiction over the latter are fulfilled. In 1998 Rome Statute negotiation, the crime of aggression was listed among the major crimes under the Court s jurisdiction in Article 5 of the Rome Statute but did not power the Court to use jurisdiction over the crime thus contrasting the other crimes(genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes). This was because the Statute did not define the crime or set out jurisdictional rules. The Assembly of States Parties ( ASP ) created a Special Working Group on the Crime of Aggression ( the Special Working Group ), to help in addressing such issues as the crime of aggression. This was driven by the fact that the Preparatory Commissions formed by the Rome Statute after the conclusion of the Rome Statute of June and July 1998, had not worked ... According to the article, it is explained how archeology have changed horizons compared to previous years. The case discussed in this article focuses on the fact that in order for archeology to have greater impact in communities and in general, it should deviate a bit from its merely scholar course to a more socially oriented pathway, ruled by community collaboration and committed service to the underserved members of the community. It states that former ways of archeology were not particularly focused on social that is why occasionally the most oppressed members of the society were excluded and deprived of their rights. • 23. The Effect Of Temperature Affect The Metabolic Rate Of... I. Introduction Temperature can greatly affect the metabolic rate of Carassius auratus auratus (goldfish). Carassius auratus auratus(goldfish) are native to eastern Asia and was first discovered by the Chinese. Unlike homoiotherm, Carassius auratus auratus(goldfish) are ectothermic, which means they adjust to their surrounding temperature. In this lab, the dependent variable is the rate of breath per 15 seconds and the independent variable is the temperature in Celsius. Since Carassius auratus auratus are ectothermic then their metabolic rate must go up as the temperature increase and goes down when the temperature decrease. II. Method The material needed to recreate this lab is one goldfish in a cup big enough for the fish to swim in, a bowl filled with water, one cup of ice, and one thermometer. Place the cup with the goldfish into the bowl filled with water. Measure the temperature of the water in the bowl with the thermometer to find the room temperature and after when you added the ice to cool the water down. The room temperature should be around 20 degrees Celsius. Wait for 3 minutes for the goldfish to adjust to the environment. Count the number of breaths of the goldfish per 15 seconds by counting the number of times when the gill cover open and close. Slowly added the ice to the bowl to cool down the water temperature. Repeat the process for 20 degrees Celsius, 17.5 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius. III. Result As the temperature gradually decreases, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It could be said that it has taken over the entire practice and that the human aspect had been taken out completely. In the book Computational Design Thinking, by Achim Menges and Sean Ahlquist this is discussed. It is important to understand how certain things work in an environment in other to comprehend how a design computer system actually works. In order to do so, a system generating a system, history and cybernetics, and how the machine and men interact needs to be analyzed. In doing so, it is determined that one cannot exist without the other. A system generating a systems dominates the idea of computational design. A system has to ideas explained in the book. The first idea is a system as a whole. The system as a whole refers to a particular holistic view of a single thing. While a generating system does not refer to a single thing; but a combination of things that include rules that are capable of generating many things. A system can only become a system if it has a holistic property. Meaning that if the object could have different meaning depending the approach. Charlie is at a vulnerable age where a person can easily be influenced by the actions of the people around him and all the emotions he s feeling can overwhelm him into doing something he might have never wanted to do. I ve been smoking it all the time since (3.16). This shows the reader that having Bob as a friend made it convenient for Charlie to get drugs. Coming of age is a time in a person s life when they gradually transition from a child to an adult and become more mature. This has an important role in charlie s exploration of drugs as during this time period teenagers usually go through a lot of trails and obstacles, questioning themselves about what they really want or do. Charlie can be seen going through these trials as he thinks to himself that Maybe my whole family has been high, and we just don t tell each other these things (2.44). At this moment charlie s drug abuse is at its peak and he s conflicting with himself as wants an excuse not to stop so he wondered to himself if his family are doing the same things as him but just not sharing it with each other. To add to that Charlie also remembers his aunt and her alcohol abuse saying My aunt Helen drank a lot. My Aunt Helen took drugs a lot. My aunt Helen had many problems with men and boys (2.9). This makes Charlie think that it s natural for adults to consume a great deal of alcohol or do drugs to deal or at least escape their problems. Charlie is a wallflower which means that he usually has a hard time in focusing on one thing which sometimes results in him having mixed emotions. • 37. Russell s Theory Of Denoting In The Principles Of Mathematics 2.1.2. Problem with the Theory of Denoting in The Principles of Mathematics: Russell s theory of denoting as exposed in The Principles of Mathematics considers that whatever can be mentioned is a thing or a term i.e., an object. Thus, things, whether exist(like, the present queen of England) or not (like, the golden mountain) have being if it can be used as the logical subject of a proposition. This view of Russell is closely akin to that of Meinong s. However, there are some points of disagreement too. Two main theses of Meinong s theory of object ( Гњber Gegenstandstheorie) are i) There are objects that do not exist. (T1) ii) Every object that does not exist is yet constituted in some way or other and thus may be made the subject of a true predication. (T2) This is, in fact, the doctrine of Aussersen independence of sosein (character) from sein (being). Meinong thinks, even if an object happens to be unthinkable, it is something having at least the property of being unthinkable. And, whether or not something exists or has any other kind of being, it is an object i.e., something about which one is conscious, according to Meinong. Russell s view at the time of The Principles of Mathematics, resembles Meinong s in that Russell also holds that every object of thought has some being. This article calls to attention that not all patients respond fully and how family accommodation specifically influences pediatric patients with OCD. It raises the question if there are improved outcomes based on family accommodations. With that being said, the study investigates the association between family accommodation and treatment outcome in a relatively large sample of pediatric patients with OCD participating in cognitive behavioral therapy. The outcome regards how effective the treatment actually was and what impact it had. The prediction is that the majority of parents would report family accommodations of their child s symptoms and that family accommodation would be seen as positively related to ratings of child OCD impairment. In turn, the level of family accommodation would decrease following cognitive behavioral therapy participation and post treatment levels of family accommodation would be ... I come before you all today, humbled by all that God has blessed me with. I am a first generation college student, I come from a single parent household and I understand how hard it was for some of us to reach this far. Although this class has not been with each other for an extended period of time, I have been able to shake some your hands, hear some of your stories, and understand how we could improve this school together. On today I think back on the rich history of Texas Southern University . I think about all that this institution and its student have had to endure over time. I think about the marches and sit in s on the tiger walk, I think about the false stigmas that have been latched upon any student who has attended this institution, I think about the Jordans and Leland s who never gave up in the face of fear, who never lost hope... Second, let us establish fiscal responsibility. As your Senator, I will guarantee that your money is spent wisely on programs that will benefit each and every one of you. Third, let us work toward bringing new career internship opportunities for all of you here on campus. These opportunities will be able to provide you all with job experience within an area you would like to pursue in the future. And finally, let us bring more inclusiveness to the Class of 2020. • 44. The Main Assumptions Of Family Social Exchange Theory Family Social Exchange theory is the idea that social change and stability represent a process of cost and benefit between the two parties or individuals: how much effort is put into the relationship versus how much effort our companion is contributing. This theory proposes that in order to understand one another and the choices made by them, we must understand what that individuals finds to be motivating or rewarding. Main Assumptions As there are many assumptions on social exchange, one of the assumptions to know is that people are motivated by self interest. Meaning that we seek things or relationships that are beneficial to ourselves. Like weighing the cost and rewards of a relationship or product that is bought for a purpose. Thus, we, as human being finds more pleasurable to engage in a relationship or interactions that will be more beneficial and rewarding, while avoiding the least cost or punishment. When people choose to help others, they do so because of personal gain they expect to obtain from doing so. An example could be that someone might feel that their job takes advantage of them and therefore, that person decides to quit the job and look for another job if they think that they could get a better job for the same about of effort. An example of this explanations is that my co worker, who worked with me at Taco Bell decides to quit her job at Taco Bell because she felt that there was just too much work and the customers are mean. Many people feel it is important to take on Europe s natural participation in the gap year after high school. For countless years, Europeans have practiced gap years before college to help a graduate grow. Prince William of Europe took his beneficial gap year, helping the idea to spread to America (Kelly para. 1) British influences have been leading America to a stronger future, and taking a gap year after high schoolis now being adopted by the States. Certain students participating in the gap year enhance their emotional and physical states before entering college. Also, some believe that taking a gap year will influence the student to reject a higher education. On the other hand, taking a gap year after high school can be expensive, but the experiences you receive from it are priceless. Based on these different perspectives, I most closely agree with the fact that taking a break from school before jumping into a higher educationcan help a graduate grow and find themselves. Many people believe taking a gap year after high school will discourage a higher education because the student is not likely to go back to school after taking a break. Due to this thought, parents of new graduates are not openly supportive of gap years. • 55. Unpacking Spinoza s Ontological Argument Unpacking Spinoza s Ontological Argument in Regards to Monism Baruch Spinoza was a Dutch philosopher who was active in the mid to late 17th century. In Spinoza s ontological argument he attempts to prove the existence of God as the root of all things that everything is created from as well as proving that God is the only true substance. According to Spinoza, It pertains to the nature of a substance to exist (Spinoza). This means that Spinoza believes existence is a necessary property of any single thing. Everything that exists is a substance or an affection (mode). This disagrees with other philosophers discussed throughout the course, such as Kant, who felt that existing was not a necessary property and that it could not be assumed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This means that existence is an inherent property of every substance and that existence is an attribute of every substance. Secondly, Spinoza claims that, Two substances having different attributes have nothing in common with one another (Spinoza). He uses Definition 3 to justify this claim: By substance I understand what is in itself and is conceived through itself, i.e., that whose concept does not require the concept of another thing, from which it must be formed (Spinoza). In this Spinoza states that this substance is made up entirely of itself whilst simultaneously having been created by itself. Since the substance is created from itself, it is impossible for it to have been conceived by something else and therefore cannot share the same attributes as another substance. Spinoza also states that If things have nothing in common with one another, one of them cannot be the cause of the other (Spinoza).
