CENSUS AND SAMPLE SURVEY
• CENSUS ::--
Collection of data from whole population.
• SAMPLING ::--
It is taking any portion of population or
universe as representative of that population.
IMPLICATION OF A SAMPLE DESIGN
• A sample design is a definite plan for
obtaining a sample from given population.
• Technique or the procedure researcher would
adopt in selecting items.
• Sample design is determined before data are
collected.
• Researcher must select SD which should be
reliable and appropriate for his study.
STEPS IN SAMPLE DESIGN
• While developing a sampling design one must
pay attention to the following points :-
1) TYPE OF UNIVERSE.
2) SAMPLING UNIT.
3) SAMPLING FRAME.
4) SIZE OF SAMPLE.
5) PARAMETERS OF INTREST.
6) BUDGETARY CONSTRAINT.
7) SAMPLING PROCEDURE.
