Genocide In The Australian Genocide
Genocide has always been present throughout history, whether it is Julius Caesar s slaughter of the
Gauls during his conquest from 58 BCE to 54 BCE or the Rwandan Genocide in the late 20th Century.
Although they have been around for thousands of years, the term, genocide only recently received a
formal definition. In 1948, during the aftermath of World War II and the Holocaust, the United
Nations came together to establish a concrete definition for the term genocide . The UN s official
definition for genocide stated:
acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious
group, as such:
a. Killing members of the group;
b. Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
c. Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical
destruction in whole or in part;
d. Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
e. Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
This definition is still applicable to events that occurred before its creation though, and one event
definitely falls into these criteria. The Australian Aborigines disappearance is much more than a group
of people simply disappearing, it is actually a genocide spread across hundreds of years, starting in the
late 1780 s with the final culmination of it being formally acknowledged and apologized for in 2008.
This is definitely a genocide, going by the criteria established by the UN

Gene Expression Of Soybeans ( Glycine Max )
Gene Expression of Soybeans (Glycine max) in Response to Bacterial Inoculants, Rhizoboost,
Defensor and Rhizobium under abiotic Stress (heat condition) in Glycine max
Proposal by Noor Sairafi and Dr. Sue Hum Musser
Western Illinois University, Department of Biology
Abstract Several microorganisms have the ability to promote plant growth and produce compounds
which are known to stimulate plant defenses by inducing systemic resistance (ISR) in attacked plants
(1). Bacillus species are commonly used in formulating microbial fertilizers due to their rapid
beneficial effects in colonizing plant root and establishing Rhizobia bacteria mutualism inside their
root structure. In this paper research, I will observe this unique interaction by examining the gene
expression of soybeans (Glycine max) and their response to bio inoculants under a heat stress. I will
use four different treatments: control, Defensor, Rhizoboost, Defensor and Rhizobium, and
Rhizoboost and Rhizobium. Once the infected seeds germinate, I will incubate soybean seeds at 25 oC
and 37 oC for approximately 16 hours followed by grinding seeds for RNA purification. Gene
expression data will be then obtained and collected via qPCR analysis followed by microarray
analysis for more data confirmation. Additionally, a two way ANOVA and a Tukey s multiple
comparison test will be used to determine the significance of the data. This study will give us a good
idea on the effect of bacterial fertilizers (Defensor,

Pro Life Vs Pro Choice
So you made a mistake, but life is all about fixing those mistakes and learning from them. Abortion
has been a topic talked about for several years and I strongly believe that abortion should be the
mothers choice. The definition of abortion is The termination of pregnancy by the removal or
expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth. Pro life
people are against abortion and consider it to be murder whereas pro choice people believe it is the
mothers choice whether she wants to abort the baby or not. Women have many reasons to abort their
babies such as religion, age and financial problems.
People in our world are of many different religions and all those different religions have different
opinions on abortion. Many people believe in pro life because of their religion. Most religions such as
Catholicism and Hinduism are against abortion, but not all Jews Buddhists are completely against.
Under extreme cases, they believe that abortion should be allowed. Even some pro life believes think
that under extreme cases the baby should be aborted. An example is if giving birth to the baby would
put the mother or baby in danger. It s said that the risks of death associated with childbirth is 10 times
higher than that of abortion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her parents could possibly kick her out of the house and she would have to food or money to even
help herself let alone the baby or others could laugh and bully her. For example, one child, Kirstin
Fitzgerald who gave birth at 18, lost most of her friends and the teachers looked down on her.
However, another child, Jamie Rush, had a successful pregnancy and everyone was supportive of her.
This proves that mothers should have a choice as to whether to abort their babies or not because
everyone has different lives, are surrounded by different people and you never really know how
people are going to

Taoism Essay
Running head: Taoism
Taoism
A Brief Overview When first deciding to write my term paper on Taoism I thought it would be just
another religion. In my research I found so many different translations that my head started spinning.
There are really no known facts about the founder of Taoism, Lao Tsu, except that he was possibly a
contemporary of Confucius. He was searching for a way that would avoid the constant feudal warfare
and other conflicts that disrupted society during his lifetime. (Religious Tolerance, 2007) Since there
are many aspects to Taoism in this paper I will do my best to explain what Taoism is and also explain
some of its main concepts. Taoism is described as a Chinese religious and philosophical system aimed

I am not sure if there are any documented cases of immortality but being a believer of holistic
medicine and acupuncture I can see the benefits herbs in my life today. Yin and Yang is the most
universally recognizable symbol for Taoism. The symbol is a circle with one half black and the other
half white. Both halves have a spot with the opposite color which represents being part of the other.
Yin and Yang are two complementary, interdependent principles or phases alternating in space and
time; they are emblems envoking the harmonious interplay of all pairs of opposites in the universe.
(Taoism, 2007) Taoist believe yin and yang exist in all aspects of life. Some believe the white
represents good and the black represents evil. If there is good there is bad, if there is wealth there is
poverty and if there is woman there is man. In other words there is an opposite to everything. The
universe flows in harmony without ever stopping. In chapter 42 of the Tao Te Ching there is a
reference about yin and yang. The Tao is one, from the one come yin and yang, from these two
creative energy (chi), from energy, ten thousand things, the forms of all creations, all life embodies yin
and embraces yang, through their union achieving harmony. (Tao Te Ching, Ch. 51) This brings us to
our next concept, the five elements. The five elements are earth, metal, fire, wood and water. This
theory is as important as the yin and

Little Cottonwood Canyon Research Paper
Little Cottonwood Canyon is a site bursting with geological history, rock formations earthquake
potential on the fault, prehistoric glacial formations, landslides, and many hazards associated with it.
The Wasatch fault is bound to have a enormous earthquake in the future and has left behind numerous
scars. The mountains have been engraved by glacial formations dated back to the Ice Age (~14,000
years ago). Rock falls and landslides have left hefty boulders as indication of erosion and moisture in
the rocks. The hazards on this mountain range are mass wasting, radon, earthquakes, and flooding of
Little Cottonwood Creek. There is an abundant amount of history buried inside the walls of Little
Cottonwood Canyon. This mountain range has existed since the Ice Age which was roughly 14,000
30,000 years ago. Consequently, the Ice Age and Lake Bonneville created a Delta at the base of the
canyon and a long creek that carves its way down the mountain (Wilkerson 1987). It also created
Cirques; which is a crescent formed slope on the faces of the mountains (Richmond 1964). Little
Cottonwood Canyon also lies on an active fault, the Wasatch fault, and it has been active for the past
15 million years. This fault in the last 6000 years has had around 19 major earthquakes that instigated

Breast Cancer Research Paper
Most people know at least one person who currently has or has had breast cancer at one point. Breast
cancer is one of the most common cancers there are, affecting 1 in 8 women at some point in their life
time. Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that starts in the cells of a breast. A malignant tumor is a
group of cells that can spread to other parts of the body. Although breast cancer is mostly in women,
men can get breast cancer too. There is no true known reason why women get cancer, but there are
several scenarios that can increase the risk of getting breast cancer, most genetic and lifestyle choices.
Age is a scenario that increases the chance of getting breast cancer. Women between age 50 and age
70 are where 8 out of 10 breast cancer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One treatment is chemotherapy. Chemotherapy uses drugs to kill cancer cells but can cause side
effects of nausea, hair loss, early menopause, hot flashes, fatigue and temporarily lower blood counts.
Another treatment is hormone therapy. Hormone Therapy prevents hormones, especially estrogen,
from helping cancerous cells in the breast grow and spread. A third treatment, biological therapy, uses
the immune system to destroy the cancer cells. The survival rate for breast cancer depends on how
early the cancer is caught. If caught before cancer forms or in Stage 1 of breast cancer, the survival
rate is guaranteed, one hundred percent. Stage 2 survival dips a little bit to 93%. If caught in Stage 3
the survival rate is still pretty good at 73%. But if a woman makes it to Stage 4 breast cancer, her
survival rate plummets to 22%. In 2015 alone, there is projected to be about 231,000 new cases of
breast cancer, with a projected 40,000 dying. Studies show that about 1 in 8 women will experience
some form or stage of breast cancer in their

The Naegleria Fowleri Amoeba
Introduction
The Naegleria fowleri amoeba resides in lakes, rivers, thermal springs, dirty swimming pool and
sometimes soil. The amoebas thrive during the summer months due to the increase of
temperature(Shakoor, Beg, and Mahmood 258). Naegleria amoeba infects and targets brain tissue of
the central nervous system and the neuromuscular system. The central nervous system is responsible
for integrating and responding to neural signals. The nervous system and muscles in the body work
together to permit movement called the neuromuscular system. The brain is the main control for
integrating sensory neurons and coordinating body functions: voluntary and involuntary. When needed
to move a body part, a message is sent to the afferent sensory neurons, which go through the brain and
into the spinal cord where the efferent motor neurons send an electrical signal to trigger the muscle to
contract. Errors such as sliding of the actin and myosin filaments or failure to release
neurotransmitters from the neuron can happen. The infection causes primary amebic
meningoencephalitis (PAM) (Shakoor, Beg, and Mahmood 258).. It cannot be contracted by person to
person, or by drinking contaminated water. The amoeba enters the body via nose by infected water
and/or dust and penetrates the cribriform plate(Shenoy, Wilson, and Prashanth [Page 309]). It travels
to the brain by the nerves that transmit olfactory senses and causes PAM. It causes brain tissue damage
and inflammation of the brain. The

Why The United States Should Convert To The Metric System
Introduction
An interesting fact is that only 3 countries don t use the metric system. Another interesting fact is that
at one point Canada did not use metric. The Metric system Is a system of measurement that is as said
earlier is used in most countries. The Us is one of the few that doesn t use metric. The reason this is
because most countries deemed it suitable, but the U.S still uses Imperial measurement. In short the
United States should convert to the metric system because conversion from standard to metric is
difficult, the metric system is more precise, and people already use metric in the US anyway.
The first reason is conversion from standard to metric is difficult. This is because a miscalculation in
converting between metric and imperial. NASA lost a Mars orbiter. This all happened because the
other team used imperial. A plane from air Canada crashed because of converting error. This happened
because the plane was the company s first metric measurements and the gage was not working. They
used ripsticks to see how much fuel the plane took but conversion to volume to weight went wrong
and they crashed. As stated above conversion from standard to metric is difficult for those reasons. ...

Differences Between Film And Othello
Throughout the years the play Othello by William Shakespeare has been adapted both on the screen
and on stage many times. The questions or race and racism that have quite often been a point of
discussion with William Shakespeare s play Othello can be seen through the bard, however some may
argue that Othello s skin colour was purely a plot device. This paper will look at two film that have
been re made since the 1960 s, which provides an analysis of the concept of race and how political
ideas and events of that time have influenced each adaptation. It will be seen that the film version of
Othello directed by Oliver Parker in 1995 compared to the film version directed by Geoff Sax in 2001
present s race with differing degrees.
Oliver Parker ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other critics denied that Parker s version in any way entertained the subject of race. Brode and Rick
Groen, a reviewer for The Globe and Mail Review, thought it was a sexual thriller with overtones of
homosexual attraction.
From a visual perspective, the film is captivating, especially the love scene between Othello and
Desdemona. To say that this is based on the O.J Simpson trial is perplexing. Although Parker does
selectively reduce the dialogue from Shakespeare s play, all that has been selectively captured and
included from the play, is straight out of the play. Although there is no basis between the film and the
O.J Simpson trial the commonality between the true is that they both invite the audience to look and
think about how conscious we are about the issues of race within society. Unlike 400 years ago, in
modern society, it is very much impossible to ignore Iago s character and not determine that he is in
fact a racist. The symbolism used by Parker where Iago delivers his monologue over the chess board,
where the chess pieces have been positioned to show a black king opposing a white queen and knight,
is used to clearly illustrate Iago s manipulative character in trying to make Othello question whether
Desdemona is even attracted to him because of his colour. Instead, Iago pairs both the white queen and
the white knight signifying a more likely choice for Desdemona would be Cassio.
At the beginning of the film,

Cloud Storage For The Field Of Pre Construction
Cloud Storage
Cloud storage is one of the important application of mobile technology. Cloud storage can be
described as a service, which allows you to manage and maintain the data remotely. Cloud storage
allows you to save your files online, so that you can access it from anywhere in the world with the
help of internet. Additionally, cloud storage syncs the data making sure that all the devices contain the
same data. Any project manager knows how difficult it is to have access to current information and
many conflicts can be avoided if the same information is available to all the parties in the project.
Another important use of cloud storage is in the field of Pre Construction. For example, Cloud Takeoff
is an application which allows the estimators to perform digital takeoffs on any platforms, from
windows or Mac or IOS or Android. Since these takeoffs are present in cloud, users can collaborate on
the documents using different devices. Cloud Takeoff can do tasks which can previously be performed
on programs like Onscreen takeoff. Cloud takeoff helps in preparing more accurate bids than the bids
produced by PC based software by increasing collaboration between the parties involved. There are
many applications available which provides cloud storage. Some of the examples are Dropbox,
Box.net.

The Importance Of Adolescent Privacy In The Media And...
Adolescent privacy is commonly invaded by parents that monitor their children s media content with
the intent to keep them on track. However, are these observations as helpful as the parents consider it?
A few articles and studies show that while it may be a cautious step from the parents to keep children
safe, the lack of privacy may emit many other emotions and pressures from adolescents that could
make the situations worse (Mullen 166 Padilla Walker et al. 1153). With the use of case studies and
articles, this essay will address the privacy concerns of adolescents and the importance of regulating
media content by parental monitoring. The term media should be taken in the context of television,
video games, social media, and the internet. I will argue that parental media monitoring can help
parents supervise their children, promote positive behaviour, and provide disciplined upbringing while
maintaining adolescences independence and aiding them to develop advanced practical skills that will
come in use in a media run world. Parental monitoring is one of the most useful techniques to
supervise children s media content in the effort to protect them from bad influences and wrong
decisions; although, the biggest drawback is that monitoring diminishes privacy for adolescents.
Supervision allows the parents or guardians to control and limit specific content that deems to be
inappropriate for their children, especially in today s generation; for example, adolescents may be

Tragic Events In American History
The military attack carried out by the Imperial Japanese Navy on the United States naval base at Pearl
Harbor was a tragic occurrence in United States history. On December 7, 1941, the barrage led to the
loss of more than two thousand American lives. Americans under no circumstances believed the
Japanese would plan a direct attack on American soil due to the inconveniences and especially not in
Hawaii of all places. Nevertheless, the tragic event led to the involvement of the United States in
World War II after two years of conflict.
Nearly seventy four years later, while perusing a menu at a local Chinese restaurant in Stockbridge,
Georgia, the choice wording of sushi rolls raised a red flag. Names such as Pearl Harbor Roll and
Atomic Bomb Roll were listed under the Chef s Special Rolls along with Kamikaze Roll at the
establishment where the Japanese cuisine is also offered to customers. My family and I have dined at
the restaurant previously, but never before took notice of such details within the menu. As an

Differences Between King Camarus And Merlin
I wonder what the scene between the King, Camarus, and Merlin is insinuating. I am very confused as
to why the King would call his grandson to his quarters only to banish him as soon as he saw his face.
I have been pondering the reason behind this and have come up with a few possibilities.
The first possibility I have come up with is that he could have wanted to introduce the foreign King to
Merlin. Rumors were spreading that Niniane was betrothed to the foreign king, so it is very possible
that he wanted to see what she would be bringing into the marriage.
The King may have simply wanted to know what Merlin was up to, seeing as he sits on the wall
everyday watching visitors arrive. The foreign King could ve reported seeing the boy on the wall,

A Reflection On My Professional Visit At The Youth...
this essay I will be looking a critical incident reflection which I had when I went for my professional
visit at the youth offending team in London. Using Reflection will be used to reveal how well or badly
the situation was handled by the staff this will then enable me to see how the incident and the overall
reflection has influence personal learning for me
Hogston and Simpson (1999) says that reflection is a process of reviewing an experience of practice in
order to better describe, analyses and evaluate, and inform learning about practice . The incidents
occurred during the first day of my placement the incident was that some of the young people refused
to interact with me as they didn t know who I was and that trust was not built up beforehand many of
the youth s thought I was the police coming in to ask them questions about themselves and their
personal lives as many of these young people are still very vulnerable I didn t presume them. Within
any type of helping relationship building up that trusting relationship is essential as it allows the
person to feel safe to share what they have experienced with you as an individual, Geldard and
Geldard (2004) emphasize how important it is to build up a relationship at a very early stage of
meeting the client. Reid and Westergaard (2011) then go on to say once this relationship has
developed the helper will then be able to listen to the young person s story.

If you want to further your education there are a few thing you need to know about the experiences
that come along with been a first time college student. The time spent in college is a fond of memory
and happy experiences; nevertheless it can be stressful and challenging. Some may say that college
was easy but for me I know from experience that only the strong will survive in college. There are so
many issues that people students deal with in college. You will think it s a smooth ride and everything
supposes to be in order. In my opinion it s a learning experience, but a college student thinks it s a
nightmare. You have to be headstrong, if not you won t like it and eventually drop out. There several
issue that affect the Higher Education system. Some of these issues Higher include financial aide,
administration, and preparation for workforce and career readiness. Student loans are one of the
biggest issues that affect college student s nationwide especially low income African American college

Supply And Demand Essay
Laws of Supply and Demand The market price of a good is determined by both the supply and
demand for it. In the world today supply and demand is perhaps one of the most fundamental
principles that exists for economics and the backbone of a market economy. Supply is represented by
how much the market can offer. The quantity supplied refers to the amount of a certain good that
producers are willing to supply for a certain demand price. What determines this interconnection is
how much of a good or service is supplied to the market or otherwise known as the supply relationship
or supply schedule which is graphically represented by the supply curve. In demand the schedule is
depicted graphically as the demand curve which represents the ... Show more content on

This causes the price and the quantity move in opposite directions in a supply curve shift. Also, if the
quantity supplied decreases at any given price the opposite will happen. A sudden increase or decrease
in the supply of a particular good is also known as a supply shock. A supply shock is an event that
suddenly changes the price of a product or service. This sudden change affects the equilibrium price.
The two types of supply shocks that exist are the Negative Supply shock and the Positive Supply
shock. A negative supply shock, which is a sudden supply decrease, will raise the prices and shift the
aggregate supply curve to the left. A negative supply shock can cause stagflation due to the
combination of raising prices and the falling output. Meanwhile a positive supply shock, an increase in
supply, will lower the price of a good and shift the aggregate supply curve to the right. A positive
supply shock could be advancement in technology which most certainly makes production more
efficient which thus increases output. For example a positive supply shock could be shown in the early
1990s when communication and information technology exploded which resulted directly in
productivity increase, and an example of a negative supply shock would be that of the high oil prices
associated with Arab oil embargo of the early 70s is the classic example of this occurrence. Any other
factor could also produce this effect. Such as if

A continuing contract fifth grade teacher, Linda Burton, in Pine County Florida, was dismissed from
her teaching position after the school board claimed she was guilty of behaving immorally and was
found incompetent. In the summer months of 2015, Burton was said to have gone on an alcohol binge,
during which she separated from her husband. Burton was involved in a confrontation with two local
Sherriff deputies. The deputies later brought her to a mental facility to observe her behaviors, since
she was apparently found to be a danger to herself or others, based on the Baker Act. She was later
charged with drunken disorderly conduct, to which Burton pled nolo contendere, or no contest.
Her criminal record was completely expunged, or erased, after Burton completed a rehabilitation

The Rights Of Freedom Of Speech
The Founders made the press a First Amendment priority in the United States Constitution as a
protected role to act as a check on elected officials. The press was part of the Constitutional checks
and balances in holding elected officials accountable and to be observant for exploitation, as the press
were in essence the eyes and ears of the people. Freedom of the press is the irrefutable privilege to
propagate opinions in print without censorship by the government. Americans enjoy freedom of the
press under the First Amendment to the Constitution, which states: Congress shall make no law
respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the
freedom of speech, or of the press; or the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Synchronously, in a revival of the two most credible (progressive leaning) newspaper juggernauts, the
Post and Times, are the saving grace in protecting our American democracy and way of life. Assisting
the American public to view and absorb real facts and evidence, in order to expose the new most
corrupt President in United States history, Donald J. Trump.
What the press has done in investigative journalism is nothing short of the very best of American
know how, pride and grit. With the additional evidence constantly leaking through the current White
House like a sieve, is overwhelmingly apparent to the majority of political pundits and syndicated
columnists, that this author is going to be proven completely and irrefutably accurate...
The abuse of this power is also just as frightening as a sitting President being controlled or
manipulated by a foreign power, in order to undermine the American government and its supportive
political structure, in hopes of weakening there most hated nemesis, the United States of America. And
on that account, that brings us to U.S. news organization, Fox News...
There is such a thing as alternative facts however, it is better known by its ancient Latin name, known
to us all as pure bull shit. Yes, it s the carefully manipulated and chaotically fabricated news reporting
in order to not use the freedom of press for the good of mankind, rather, to use their forum to
indoctrinate or brainwash their unsuspecting test subjects.

Hydrocephaly-MASA Spectrum Analysis
Hydrocephaly MASA Spectrum is the most common XLID syndrome with a structural malformation
of the central nervous system. Isolation of mutations in L1CAM has allowed inclusion of four entities
that were previously thought to be separate entities in the spectrum; these include X linked
hydrocephaly, MASA syndrome, XLID clasp thumb and complicated spastic paraplegia (Stevenson
RE., 2013). Hypotonia is usually present initially and replaced by spasticity in the late childhood.
Interestingly, the degree of intellectual development of these individuals appears to be correlated with
the severity of hydrocephaly. Hydranencephaly represents the most severe form of ARX associated
XLID. In most cases it is coupled with abnormalities of neuronal migration,

The Grapes of Wrath
Fear, Hostility, and Exploitation in Chapter 21 of The Grapes of Wrath
Steinbeck s intercalary chapters in The Grapes of Wrath have nothing to do with the Joads or other
characters of the novel, but help describe the story in different terms. They are similar to poems,
offering different viewpoints of the migration, and clarifying parts of the story that the reader might
not understand. An excellent example of this use can be seen in chapter 21, where an examination of
the attitudes of migrant Okies and the residents of California reveals the changing nature of land
ownership among the changing population of California and gives greater meaning to the fierce
hostility that the Joads meet in California.
The first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They suffer the anguish of losing their farms and their homes, of being forced to move endlessly and
painfully in search of work on someone else s land. The anguish caused by sudden change in land
ownership is a major aspect of the novel.
The next section of chapter 21 offers an explanation of the hostility that the migrants meet upon
arrival in California. Steinbeck describes:
Men of property were terrified for their property. Men who had never been hungry saw the eyes of the
hungry. Men who had never wanted anything very much saw the flare of want in the eyes of the
migrants. And the men of the towns and of the soft suburban country gathered to defend themselves;
and they reassured themselves that they were good and the invaders bad, as a man must do before he
fights.
The mild people of California find in the Okies what they have yet to experience fear and desperation.
Sensing the extent to which the migrants are willing to work, the locals begin to fear for their own
jobs, and most importantly, for their own property. In fearful defense, they attack the Okies as
marauders who mean to destroy both populations through their desperation. This fear transforms into
hostility, which reveals itself in the story through the deputies and managers who abuse and assault the
Joads, as well as other migrant families in the workers

The World Wide Web Is Not Always Just A Click Away
Since the beginning of mankind the need to communicate with one another has served as an essential
part of existing. From the hieroglyphics painted in pyramids in Egypt, sending smoke signals by
Indians, communicating over radio, writing a letter and sending it via mail service to present day
communication via cellular phone and internet. According to the International Telecommunication
Union, by the end of 2015 nearly half of the 7.2 billion people on the planet will have access to the
internet (Internet Used by, 2015). The ability to log on to a computer and communicate via the internet
has changed the way people interact. This real time ability made the world a much smaller place.
However, this access to the World Wide Web was not always just a click away.
In the late 1960 s, a Department of Defense (DOD) sponsored program known as Advanced Research
Projects Agency Network (ARPAN), developed the first working prototype of the internet (Andrews,
2013). As technology has advanced throughout history the ability of mankind to exploit the
conveniences afforded by the technology has also advanced. While the advantages of the internet
outweigh the disadvantages it would be irresponsible to overlook the negatives. According to
Andrews, (2013) by the 1990 s the internet prototype had progressed into what was then called the
World Wide Web, which is what has developed into what nearly half the world uses today (n.p.). Just a
few years before the internet began to be

Essay Breast Feeding Is Best
Breast Feeding Is Best Breast feeding not only provides the perfect food and food delivery system for
infants, it is also the most family friendly choice a new mother can make.
Human breast milk contains at least one hundred ingredients not found in cow s milk and that cannot
be exactly duplicated in commercial formulas (Eisenburg 3). As a baby grows and changes, breast
milk automatically individualizes itself for each infant. The nutrients in breast milk alter themselves to
fit the baby s needs. Breast milk is more easily digested than cow s milk or formula. The amount of
protein in mother s milk (1.5%) is lower than in cow s milk (3.5%) (Brockport 1), making it gentler on
the infant s stomach. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Breast milk contains one third the mineral salts of cow s milk, thus making it gentle to the kidneys.
There is less phosphorous in breast milk as well. The higher phosphorus content of cow s milk is
linked to a decreased calcium level in the formula fed infant s blood. Breast fed babies are far less
likely to become ill during the first year than formula fed babies. The transfer of immune factors in
breast milk and in the pre milk substance, colostrum, provides partial protection. Every time breast fed
infants suckle at their mother s breast from the first time to the last; they are getting a healthy dose of
anti bodies to bolster their immunity to disease (Eisenburg 54). One recent study suggest there may
also be a decreased risk of childhood cancer in breast fed babies (Eisenburg 55 ).
Breast fed babies are well nourished since breast feeding works by supply and demand. The more the
baby nurses the greater the mother s milk production. Overall, babies that are breast fed have less
health problems than babies that are artificially fed. They have three times fewer ear infections, five
times fewer urinary tract infections, five times fewer serious illnesses and seven times fewer allergies.
Babies who are fed mother s milk exclusively, for at least their first twenty six weeks, are six times
less likely to develop lymphoma (a type of cancer) in childhood, and babies breast fed for at least one
year are only half as likely to develop diabetes

  • 2. Genocide In The Australian Genocide Genocide has always been present throughout history, whether it is Julius Caesar s slaughter of the Gauls during his conquest from 58 BCE to 54 BCE or the Rwandan Genocide in the late 20th Century. Although they have been around for thousands of years, the term, genocide only recently received a formal definition. In 1948, during the aftermath of World War II and the Holocaust, the United Nations came together to establish a concrete definition for the term genocide . The UN s official definition for genocide stated: acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: a. Killing members of the group; b. Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; c. Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; d. Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; e. Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group. This definition is still applicable to events that occurred before its creation though, and one event definitely falls into these criteria. The Australian Aborigines disappearance is much more than a group of people simply disappearing, it is actually a genocide spread across hundreds of years, starting in the late 1780 s with the final culmination of it being formally acknowledged and apologized for in 2008. This is definitely a genocide, going by the criteria established by the UN ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Gene Expression Of Soybeans ( Glycine Max ) Gene Expression of Soybeans (Glycine max) in Response to Bacterial Inoculants, Rhizoboost, Defensor and Rhizobium under abiotic Stress (heat condition) in Glycine max Proposal by Noor Sairafi and Dr. Sue Hum Musser Western Illinois University, Department of Biology Abstract Several microorganisms have the ability to promote plant growth and produce compounds which are known to stimulate plant defenses by inducing systemic resistance (ISR) in attacked plants (1). Bacillus species are commonly used in formulating microbial fertilizers due to their rapid beneficial effects in colonizing plant root and establishing Rhizobia bacteria mutualism inside their root structure. In this paper research, I will observe this unique interaction by examining the gene expression of soybeans (Glycine max) and their response to bio inoculants under a heat stress. I will use four different treatments: control, Defensor, Rhizoboost, Defensor and Rhizobium, and Rhizoboost and Rhizobium. Once the infected seeds germinate, I will incubate soybean seeds at 25 oC and 37 oC for approximately 16 hours followed by grinding seeds for RNA purification. Gene expression data will be then obtained and collected via qPCR analysis followed by microarray analysis for more data confirmation. Additionally, a two way ANOVA and a Tukey s multiple comparison test will be used to determine the significance of the data. This study will give us a good idea on the effect of bacterial fertilizers (Defensor, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Pro Life Vs Pro Choice So you made a mistake, but life is all about fixing those mistakes and learning from them. Abortion has been a topic talked about for several years and I strongly believe that abortion should be the mothers choice. The definition of abortion is The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth. Pro life people are against abortion and consider it to be murder whereas pro choice people believe it is the mothers choice whether she wants to abort the baby or not. Women have many reasons to abort their babies such as religion, age and financial problems. People in our world are of many different religions and all those different religions have different opinions on abortion. Many people believe in pro life because of their religion. Most religions such as Catholicism and Hinduism are against abortion, but not all Jews Buddhists are completely against. Under extreme cases, they believe that abortion should be allowed. Even some pro life believes think that under extreme cases the baby should be aborted. An example is if giving birth to the baby would put the mother or baby in danger. It s said that the risks of death associated with childbirth is 10 times higher than that of abortion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, another child, Jamie Rush, had a successful pregnancy and everyone was supportive of her. This proves that mothers should have a choice as to whether to abort their babies or not because everyone has different lives, are surrounded by different people and you never really know how people are going to ... • 5. Taoism Essay Running head: Taoism Taoism A Brief Overview When first deciding to write my term paper on Taoism I thought it would be just another religion. In my research I found so many different translations that my head started spinning. There are really no known facts about the founder of Taoism, Lao Tsu, except that he was possibly a contemporary of Confucius. He was searching for a way that would avoid the constant feudal warfare and other conflicts that disrupted society during his lifetime. (Religious Tolerance, 2007) Since there are many aspects to Taoism in this paper I will do my best to explain what Taoism is and also explain some of its main concepts. Taoism is described as a Chinese religious and philosophical system aimed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I am not sure if there are any documented cases of immortality but being a believer of holistic medicine and acupuncture I can see the benefits herbs in my life today. Yin and Yang is the most universally recognizable symbol for Taoism. The symbol is a circle with one half black and the other half white. Both halves have a spot with the opposite color which represents being part of the other. Yin and Yang are two complementary, interdependent principles or phases alternating in space and time; they are emblems envoking the harmonious interplay of all pairs of opposites in the universe. (Taoism, 2007) Taoist believe yin and yang exist in all aspects of life. Some believe the white represents good and the black represents evil. If there is good there is bad, if there is wealth there is poverty and if there is woman there is man. In other words there is an opposite to everything. The universe flows in harmony without ever stopping. In chapter 42 of the Tao Te Ching there is a reference about yin and yang. The Tao is one, from the one come yin and yang, from these two creative energy (chi), from energy, ten thousand things, the forms of all creations, all life embodies yin and embraces yang, through their union achieving harmony. (Tao Te Ching, Ch. 51) This brings us to our next concept, the five elements. The five elements are earth, metal, fire, wood and water. This theory is as important as the yin and ... • 6. Little Cottonwood Canyon Research Paper Little Cottonwood Canyon is a site bursting with geological history, rock formations earthquake potential on the fault, prehistoric glacial formations, landslides, and many hazards associated with it. The Wasatch fault is bound to have a enormous earthquake in the future and has left behind numerous scars. The mountains have been engraved by glacial formations dated back to the Ice Age (~14,000 years ago). Rock falls and landslides have left hefty boulders as indication of erosion and moisture in the rocks. The hazards on this mountain range are mass wasting, radon, earthquakes, and flooding of Little Cottonwood Creek. There is an abundant amount of history buried inside the walls of Little Cottonwood Canyon. This mountain range has existed since the Ice Age which was roughly 14,000 30,000 years ago. Consequently, the Ice Age and Lake Bonneville created a Delta at the base of the canyon and a long creek that carves its way down the mountain (Wilkerson 1987). It also created Cirques; which is a crescent formed slope on the faces of the mountains (Richmond 1964). Little Cottonwood Canyon also lies on an active fault, the Wasatch fault, and it has been active for the past 15 million years. Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers there are, affecting 1 in 8 women at some point in their life time. Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that starts in the cells of a breast. A malignant tumor is a group of cells that can spread to other parts of the body. Although breast cancer is mostly in women, men can get breast cancer too. There is no true known reason why women get cancer, but there are several scenarios that can increase the risk of getting breast cancer, most genetic and lifestyle choices. One treatment is chemotherapy. Chemotherapy uses drugs to kill cancer cells but can cause side effects of nausea, hair loss, early menopause, hot flashes, fatigue and temporarily lower blood counts. Another treatment is hormone therapy. Hormone Therapy prevents hormones, especially estrogen, from helping cancerous cells in the breast grow and spread. A third treatment, biological therapy, uses the immune system to destroy the cancer cells. The survival rate for breast cancer depends on how early the cancer is caught. If caught before cancer forms or in Stage 1 of breast cancer, the survival rate is guaranteed, one hundred percent. Stage 2 survival dips a little bit to 93%. If caught in Stage 3 the survival rate is still pretty good at 73%. But if a woman makes it to Stage 4 breast cancer, her survival rate plummets to 22%. In 2015 alone, there is projected to be about 231,000 new cases of breast cancer, with a projected 40,000 dying. • 8. The Naegleria Fowleri Amoeba Introduction The Naegleria fowleri amoeba resides in lakes, rivers, thermal springs, dirty swimming pool and sometimes soil. The amoebas thrive during the summer months due to the increase of temperature(Shakoor, Beg, and Mahmood 258). Naegleria amoeba infects and targets brain tissue of the central nervous system and the neuromuscular system. The central nervous system is responsible for integrating and responding to neural signals. The nervous system and muscles in the body work together to permit movement called the neuromuscular system. The brain is the main control for integrating sensory neurons and coordinating body functions: voluntary and involuntary. When needed to move a body part, a message is sent to the afferent sensory neurons, which go through the brain and into the spinal cord where the efferent motor neurons send an electrical signal to trigger the muscle to contract. Errors such as sliding of the actin and myosin filaments or failure to release neurotransmitters from the neuron can happen. The infection causes primary amebic meningoencephalitis (PAM) (Shakoor, Beg, and Mahmood 258).. It cannot be contracted by person to person, or by drinking contaminated water. The amoeba enters the body via nose by infected water and/or dust and penetrates the cribriform plate(Shenoy, Wilson, and Prashanth [Page 309]). It travels to the brain by the nerves that transmit olfactory senses and causes PAM. It causes brain tissue damage and inflammation of the brain. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Why The United States Should Convert To The Metric System Introduction An interesting fact is that only 3 countries don t use the metric system. Another interesting fact is that at one point Canada did not use metric. The Metric system Is a system of measurement that is as said earlier is used in most countries. The Us is one of the few that doesn t use metric. The reason this is because most countries deemed it suitable, but the U.S still uses Imperial measurement. In short the United States should convert to the metric system because conversion from standard to metric is difficult, the metric system is more precise, and people already use metric in the US anyway. The first reason is conversion from standard to metric is difficult. This is because a miscalculation in converting between metric and imperial. NASA lost a Mars orbiter. This all happened because the other team used imperial. A plane from air Canada crashed because of converting error. This happened because the plane was the company s first metric measurements and the gage was not working. They used ripsticks to see how much fuel the plane took but conversion to volume to weight went wrong and they crashed. • 12. Differences Between Film And Othello Throughout the years the play Othello by William Shakespeare has been adapted both on the screen and on stage many times. The questions or race and racism that have quite often been a point of discussion with William Shakespeare s play Othello can be seen through the bard, however some may argue that Othello s skin colour was purely a plot device. This paper will look at two film that have been re made since the 1960 s, which provides an analysis of the concept of race and how political ideas and events of that time have influenced each adaptation. It will be seen that the film version of Othello directed by Oliver Parker in 1995 compared to the film version directed by Geoff Sax in 2001 present s race with differing degrees. Oliver Parker ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Other critics denied that Parker s version in any way entertained the subject of race. Brode and Rick Groen, a reviewer for The Globe and Mail Review, thought it was a sexual thriller with overtones of homosexual attraction. From a visual perspective, the film is captivating, especially the love scene between Othello and Desdemona. To say that this is based on the O.J Simpson trial is perplexing. Although Parker does selectively reduce the dialogue from Shakespeare s play, all that has been selectively captured and included from the play, is straight out of the play. Although there is no basis between the film and the O.J Simpson trial the commonality between the true is that they both invite the audience to look and think about how conscious we are about the issues of race within society. Unlike 400 years ago, in modern society, it is very much impossible to ignore Iago s character and not determine that he is in fact a racist. The symbolism used by Parker where Iago delivers his monologue over the chess board, where the chess pieces have been positioned to show a black king opposing a white queen and knight, is used to clearly illustrate Iago s manipulative character in trying to make Othello question whether Desdemona is even attracted to him because of his colour. Instead, Iago pairs both the white queen and the white knight signifying a more likely choice for Desdemona would be Cassio. At the beginning of the film, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cloud storage can be described as a service, which allows you to manage and maintain the data remotely. Cloud storage allows you to save your files online, so that you can access it from anywhere in the world with the help of internet. Additionally, cloud storage syncs the data making sure that all the devices contain the same data. Any project manager knows how difficult it is to have access to current information and many conflicts can be avoided if the same information is available to all the parties in the project. Another important use of cloud storage is in the field of Pre Construction. For example, Cloud Takeoff is an application which allows the estimators to perform digital takeoffs on any platforms, from windows or Mac or IOS or Android. Since these takeoffs are present in cloud, users can collaborate on the documents using different devices. Cloud Takeoff can do tasks which can previously be performed on programs like Onscreen takeoff. Cloud takeoff helps in preparing more accurate bids than the bids produced by PC based software by increasing collaboration between the parties involved. • 15. The Importance Of Adolescent Privacy In The Media And... Adolescent privacy is commonly invaded by parents that monitor their children s media content with the intent to keep them on track. However, are these observations as helpful as the parents consider it? A few articles and studies show that while it may be a cautious step from the parents to keep children safe, the lack of privacy may emit many other emotions and pressures from adolescents that could make the situations worse (Mullen 166 Padilla Walker et al. 1153). With the use of case studies and articles, this essay will address the privacy concerns of adolescents and the importance of regulating media content by parental monitoring. The term media should be taken in the context of television, video games, social media, and the internet. I will argue that parental media monitoring can help parents supervise their children, promote positive behaviour, and provide disciplined upbringing while maintaining adolescences independence and aiding them to develop advanced practical skills that will come in use in a media run world. Parental monitoring is one of the most useful techniques to supervise children s media content in the effort to protect them from bad influences and wrong decisions; although, the biggest drawback is that monitoring diminishes privacy for adolescents. Supervision allows the parents or guardians to control and limit specific content that deems to be inappropriate for their children, especially in today s generation; for example, adolescents may be ... • 17. Tragic Events In American History The military attack carried out by the Imperial Japanese Navy on the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor was a tragic occurrence in United States history. On December 7, 1941, the barrage led to the loss of more than two thousand American lives. Americans under no circumstances believed the Japanese would plan a direct attack on American soil due to the inconveniences and especially not in Hawaii of all places. Nevertheless, the tragic event led to the involvement of the United States in World War II after two years of conflict. Nearly seventy four years later, while perusing a menu at a local Chinese restaurant in Stockbridge, Georgia, the choice wording of sushi rolls raised a red flag. Names such as Pearl Harbor Roll and Atomic Bomb Roll were listed under the Chef s Special Rolls along with Kamikaze Roll at the establishment where the Japanese cuisine is also offered to customers. I am very confused as to why the King would call his grandson to his quarters only to banish him as soon as he saw his face. I have been pondering the reason behind this and have come up with a few possibilities. The first possibility I have come up with is that he could have wanted to introduce the foreign King to Merlin. Rumors were spreading that Niniane was betrothed to the foreign king, so it is very possible that he wanted to see what she would be bringing into the marriage. The King may have simply wanted to know what Merlin was up to, seeing as he sits on the wall everyday watching visitors arrive. The foreign King could ve reported seeing the boy on the wall, ... A Reflection On My Professional Visit At The Youth... this essay I will be looking a critical incident reflection which I had when I went for my professional visit at the youth offending team in London. Using Reflection will be used to reveal how well or badly the situation was handled by the staff this will then enable me to see how the incident and the overall reflection has influence personal learning for me Hogston and Simpson (1999) says that reflection is a process of reviewing an experience of practice in order to better describe, analyses and evaluate, and inform learning about practice . The incidents occurred during the first day of my placement the incident was that some of the young people refused to interact with me as they didn t know who I was and that trust was not built up beforehand many of the youth s thought I was the police coming in to ask them questions about themselves and their personal lives as many of these young people are still very vulnerable I didn t presume them. Within any type of helping relationship building up that trusting relationship is essential as it allows the person to feel safe to share what they have experienced with you as an individual, Geldard and Geldard (2004) emphasize how important it is to build up a relationship at a very early stage of meeting the client. Reid and Westergaard (2011) then go on to say once this relationship has developed the helper will then be able to listen to the young person s story. • 21. Supply And Demand Essay Laws of Supply and Demand The market price of a good is determined by both the supply and demand for it. In the world today supply and demand is perhaps one of the most fundamental principles that exists for economics and the backbone of a market economy. Supply is represented by how much the market can offer. The quantity supplied refers to the amount of a certain good that producers are willing to supply for a certain demand price. What determines this interconnection is how much of a good or service is supplied to the market or otherwise known as the supply relationship or supply schedule which is graphically represented by the supply curve. In demand the schedule is depicted graphically as the demand curve which represents the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This causes the price and the quantity move in opposite directions in a supply curve shift. Also, if the quantity supplied decreases at any given price the opposite will happen. A sudden increase or decrease in the supply of a particular good is also known as a supply shock. A supply shock is an event that suddenly changes the price of a product or service. This sudden change affects the equilibrium price. The two types of supply shocks that exist are the Negative Supply shock and the Positive Supply shock. A negative supply shock, which is a sudden supply decrease, will raise the prices and shift the aggregate supply curve to the left. A negative supply shock can cause stagflation due to the combination of raising prices and the falling output. Meanwhile a positive supply shock, an increase in supply, will lower the price of a good and shift the aggregate supply curve to the right. A positive supply shock could be advancement in technology which most certainly makes production more efficient which thus increases output. For example a positive supply shock could be shown in the early 1990s when communication and information technology exploded which resulted directly in productivity increase, and an example of a negative supply shock would be that of the high oil prices associated with Arab oil embargo of the early 70s is the classic example of this occurrence. Linda Burton Court Case Summary A continuing contract fifth grade teacher, Linda Burton, in Pine County Florida, was dismissed from her teaching position after the school board claimed she was guilty of behaving immorally and was found incompetent. In the summer months of 2015, Burton was said to have gone on an alcohol binge, during which she separated from her husband. Burton was involved in a confrontation with two local Sherriff deputies. The deputies later brought her to a mental facility to observe her behaviors, since she was apparently found to be a danger to herself or others, based on the Baker Act. She was later charged with drunken disorderly conduct, to which Burton pled nolo contendere, or no contest. They are similar to poems, offering different viewpoints of the migration, and clarifying parts of the story that the reader might not understand. An excellent example of this use can be seen in chapter 21, where an examination of the attitudes of migrant Okies and the residents of California reveals the changing nature of land ownership among the changing population of California and gives greater meaning to the fierce hostility that the Joads meet in California. They suffer the anguish of losing their farms and their homes, of being forced to move endlessly and painfully in search of work on someone else s land. The anguish caused by sudden change in land ownership is a major aspect of the novel. The next section of chapter 21 offers an explanation of the hostility that the migrants meet upon arrival in California. Steinbeck describes: Men of property were terrified for their property. Men who had never been hungry saw the eyes of the hungry. Men who had never wanted anything very much saw the flare of want in the eyes of the migrants. And the men of the towns and of the soft suburban country gathered to defend themselves; and they reassured themselves that they were good and the invaders bad, as a man must do before he fights. The mild people of California find in the Okies what they have yet to experience fear and desperation. Sensing the extent to which the migrants are willing to work, the locals begin to fear for their own jobs, and most importantly, for their own property. In fearful defense, they attack the Okies as marauders who mean to destroy both populations through their desperation. This fear transforms into

Human breast milk contains at least one hundred ingredients not found in cow s milk and that cannot be exactly duplicated in commercial formulas (Eisenburg 3). As a baby grows and changes, breast milk automatically individualizes itself for each infant. The nutrients in breast milk alter themselves to fit the baby s needs. The transfer of immune factors in breast milk and in the pre milk substance, colostrum, provides partial protection. Every time breast fed infants suckle at their mother s breast from the first time to the last; they are getting a healthy dose of anti bodies to bolster their immunity to disease (Eisenburg 54).
