To agree with the statement, disguise and deception is used widely by Shakespeare. Throughout
the play we only see Viola in her disguise as Cesario . From Act 1, Scene 2, we see her planning
on using the disguise of a man to serve Orsino. The interactions between her and the other
characters show dramatic ironyas they do not realise who Cesario actually is, however the audience
does. Orsino, at the start of Act 2, scene 4 says Now good morrow, friends; Now, good Cesario.
Orsino does not know the actual person he is talking to when he praises Cesario, just the same
when he says Cesario is semblative a woman s part , saying that Cesario looks like a woman. For
Shakespeare s audience there was a heightened level of irony because at that... Show more content

This is when Portia and Nerissa disguise themselves as men, specifically a lawyer and a clerk, as
a way to save Antonio. This links into the way Viola uses an inner disguise to shield her real
personality, she first goes into her disguise at the docks in Act 1, scene 2 when she says to the
Captain Conceal me what I am, and be my aid. For such disguise as haply shall become the form
of my intent. This shows how she is covering up what I am [she is] a woman, by the personality
and physical disguise of a man. From this point onwards there is comedy due to the fact that she is
disguised as a man and is fooling every other character, with the audience knowing all about this.
This also shows that Shakespeare respects the audience enough to not have them fooled by Viola
s disguise ;and he shows more sexual equality, as Viola plays a major part in the story and
without her the play would have a lot less comedy. The structure of the play relies mostly on her
actions, for example there would have been no love triangle without her and all the other
characters would not have been deceived by her. Therefore, there would be no dramatic irony to
create amusement. So, the dramatic irony of Viola s disguise makes characters seem ignorant and
ridiculous creating comedy, but also through the audience s knowledge of Viola s true identity.
Shakespeare resolves this confusion by Viola revealing herself in the last act, making it a zenith
ending, with all the characters present

Benefits Of Higher Education
A higher education can help with people s emotional state and the health of that person. There is
also the case that you don t have to be in college for that long to start working and gain a high
paying wage. And. beyond money, education seems to make people happier and healthier
(D). Not only does seeking a higher education gets you a higher paying wage it also makes you a
happier person. This could work by the interaction with fellow students on the campus and more
knowledge than the average human. Money isn t the only reason why people are happier after
college it is also that getting that higher education helps boost their confidence about themselves.

When gaining a higher education the wage is actually going down not up. On the graph it shows
that from 2001 to 2010 the wage difference is slowly declining(Source C). The graph is showing
that when looking at how much a college graduates makes after college it isn t as much as it use
to be. There isn t going to be a substantial wage growth for the new college graduates. A higher
education may not be what everyone thinks it is, being a source to making more money when you
get out of high school. When the wages are going down for the college graduates, then it becomes
apparent how expensive college really is. College cost is exceedingly high as of right now and
may become higher as time goes by. Both cost and demand for college education have grown
significantly in the years since Mr. Thiel was a student. He sees that rise as irrational (E).
College is starting to become more expensive and it doesn t make sense that it is according to
Mr. Thiel. There is no way to see if it will get higher, but if it does then is college really worth the
price. The price of college is going up and the wage for new college graduates is starting to
decrease. People are starting to realize this and just want to start making money to support a
family as soon as they can. Two thirds say a major reason for not continuing their education is the
need to support a family. Also 57 percent say they would prefer to work

Ancient Burial Grounds of Hawaii
Ancient Burial Grounds of Hawaii In recent years, ancient burial grounds have been frequently
disturbed due to increasing surveillance by anthropologists and constructed on by state of the art
technology and are more critically protected than ever before. Understanding the importance of
burial grounds gives an insight on the rich history of ancient Hawaii. They have influenced the
burials performed, ancestors and their modern inhabitants, and how they have impacted modern
Hawaii. Burialmethods will range from the tallest peaks on land to burying those in the ocean.
Ancestors influence these methods depending on their rank and actions, having their modern
descendants have a choice to inherit these arrangements and protect their ancestors.... Show more

Cave burial was one of the most common ways to put a body to rest. Placement of the bodies
were in lava tubes, rock shelters, or hitches that contained several bodies inside. Burying the
deceased in sand dunes or in earth was another common but preferred method. Majority of the sand
dunes in Hawaii have some kind of history with burial (Kirch 240). Apart from buried in the earth,
surface burials they had also conducted included cremation, which was performed by burning the
corpse over a fire until the bones had charred into ash. When referring to sea burials, bodies of
fishermen would be wrapped in red cloth, then put in the ocean to be eaten by sharks. It was
believed that the essence of the fisherman would inhabit the shark s body (Redmond 4).
Burying individuals have impacted the people of ancient Hawaiians greatly. As in other
cultures, recognizing a deceased person played a key role in the ancient society, whether it was
a strong leader or a stranger. This was no different for the Hawaiians, as death was a matter not
taken lightly. Even though emotion is common while observing burial, native Hawaiian had
taken it to another level. Relatives or close ones to the deceased person would tear away hair,
knock out teeth with a stone, scar their skin, or even cut off an ear, especially if the high chief
had passed (Fullard Leo). However, Hawaiians also saw a significance when a relative had been

Sn2 Lab Report
As we knew from the background that these reactions are depend on several factors such as, the
substrate which is the most priority, the solvent, and the nucleophile. For the substrate, the SN1
is favor tertiary alkyl halide, while the SN2 is favor the primary alkyl halide. For the solvent, it
is an important factor. For example, in this experiment, we used AgNO3 in ethanol and NaI in
acetone solvent. We used AgNO3 in ethanol in SN1 because the ethanol is protic polar and will
able to stabilize the intermediate state of the SN1. For SN2, we used NaI. The nucleophilic specie
in this reaction is the Iodine. The acetone will act to not allow for the intermediate state to form in
SN2. Depending on the observation of the reaction, some compounds are reacting in SN2 and...

The exchanges are simple as well. Before exchanging be sure you don t pay so much money that
you will go broke and you could not afford to lose. Pay and amount you are comfortable with and
will be ok if you lose the money (some people will require you to pay for the coins with PayPal).
When making the exchange do it privately with direct messaging and give the person your wallet
address (if using the btc.com wallet then you can find it under the transaction menu). Once you
pay for the coins and send the person your wallet address, the person will send the coins directly
to your wallet and the coins should arrive immediately. Make sure you understand what to do
with the coins from there and make sure you didn t just pay for some satoshi and you actually
paid for BitCoin. If you are trying to mine on your mobile phone, ipad, kindle etc, it will take a
long time. If your miner does not generate satoshi like mad then this may take over a year just to

take longer than regularly mining but you will not need a bunch of software an processors that
will add up to 15 thousand dollars That s too much money Says Joyce DeJohn. So if you do start
to mine on a mobile device then remember that it will take a long time to get one coin. If you

there often seems to be an underlying message. It is often heard that sex sells. So, many advertisers
will use beautiful women and men in their advertisements to try to market a product. The hope is
that sexwill sell, and people will go out and buy what the ads are selling. There are many
advertisements and commercials that use this approach. Prime examples of this are the

If the main point is really about engagement rings, shouldn t the ring be seen on her finger?
Since there is no ring shown, it is implied that buying this ring will make your relationship more
sensual. It makes a man think that his girlfriend will love him even more for buying her that ring.
For a woman, it means that her boyfriend truly and deeply loves her. It tries to play on people s
love for each other. Sex as Symbol in Fashion Advertisingpoints out that the creators of any
advertisement are trying to generate some kind of an effect or emotional response (184). This ad
does exactly that. It plays on a couple s emotions.
Likewise, the advertisers for Orbit Gum use a common situation involving a man and a woman to
sell their product. The ad pictures a side view of a construction worker s face, with his mouth
open, looking at a woman. However, the only parts of the woman that are seen are her legs and
feet. The ad draws attention to the fact that the man is only looking at one part of the woman s
body. The ad reads, Dirty mouth? Clean it up with Orbit. It is implied that since the man is
looking at just the woman s legs, he is thinking of something sexual, possibly even saying it out
loud. Therefore, he is being dirty, and the only way to become clean is to chew some Orbit gum.
In this ad, the woman is seen as a sex object. As Jean Kilbourne points out,

Functions of Ubiquitin Specific Proteases Essay
Eukaryotic cells rely on the ubiquitination of proteins for the proper control of their internal
processes. Adding multiple ubiquitin groups aids in the breakdown of proteins, whereas adding
only one ubiquitin serves regulatory roles other than degradation. The enzymatic activity of two
protease classes frees ubiquitin groups from associated proteins: Ubiquitin specific proteases (USP)
and Ubiquitin C terminal hydrolases (UCH). USPs are strongly involved in eukaryotic cellular
functions and are found in copious amounts. Certain proteinligases attach ubiquitin to proteins,
which degrades them and interferes with normal cellular functions. The discovery of a specific de
ubiquitinating enzyme(HAUSP/USP7) found in humans was due to its... Show more content on

The labels associated with the resulting proteins from previous steps were rinsed and removed.
USP7 was purified and utilized in sedimentation trials in varying concentrations. Absorbance
analysis was carried out after the samples were centrifuged. EBNA1 was purified, ubiquitinated,
and combined with USP7, which was purified in previous steps. SDS PAGE was used to disrupt
the protein interaction and separate them. The separated fragments were then used in a western
blot, and analyzed after probing. The affinity of USP7 for EBNA1 and p53 was tested using a
stepwise combination of titration, incubation, and fluorescence analysis. Lastly, amino acid
residues of EBNA1and USP7 were studied by gel filtration and size exclusion chromatography.
USP7 was found as hexahistidine fusion after being inserted (through a vector) in insect cells.
The de ubiquitinating capacity of USP7 for conjugated ubiquitin groups was observed on
EBNA1, and was shown to an efficient process. The capacity of USP7 to de ubiquitinate specific
proteins in various environments (acidity, presence of inhibitors, and salt concentration) was
studied. As seen in figure 2, USP7 sensitivity to salt concentration and acidity showed a steep
slope followed by a plateau at lower salt concentrations and higher pH levels, while lower pH and
higher salt concentrations rendered a steeper, less plateau like graph. USP7 was found to be a
monomer with multiple domains, each involved

Critism in Plato
What is life? This is the one question that to this day still cannot be answered. Over the years
millions of people have had there own interpretation of what is means to live. However the quest to
answer this rhetorical question goes back to the golden days of Greek civilization when the worlds
greatest philosophers first attempted to find the answers to this question. As his position takes form
in the Republic, Platoclaims that only a very few individuals are capable of understanding how
human life is to be lived. If it could be done, the rest of us would be best off it we were to let out
lives be controlled by such individuals . This position held by Plato has been one of much

Also you can t blame him because as it is visible in the Republic, Thrasymachus says, I declare
justice is nothing but the advantage of the stronger . All that this quote basically incorporates is
that justice is nothing to normal people but in essence it s just an advantage to those people
who are rulers and are stronger than the ordinary people. He brings up a great point stating that
when robbery and violence are practiced by normal people its considered injustice, however
when this is practiced by mass or most often by rulers or those in charge its considered justice.
Since the rulers themselves do not obey the principles that they impose on the citizens, they are
themselves unjust . Because of this the tyrant himself is happy because he breaks the rules of
justice that he imposes on the weak people below him. When you are allowing yourself to be
governed and controlled by someone else rather than yourself it is not justice it s basically
considered slavery. These are all the ideas brought upon by Thrasymachus in the Republic.
However on the other hand in Book I of the Republic Plato s mentor Socrates tries and contests
Thrasymachus ideas. Socartes brings up a great point in saying that if the weak themselves were
strong enough to prevent someone from becoming a tyrant then they themselves are strong
meaning they don t need help. Socartes basically insists that a lot of the power of the man has to do

The Sport And National Identity
Sports have been and will continue to be an influential factor on cultures around the world. Soccer
is influential in Europe, Football influences The United States and for Canada it would be hockey.
It was created in Canada and continues today to be a dominating part of Canadian culture as the
sport and national identity are inextricably linked (Brunt). You could ask almost anyone in Canadaif
they knew who Wayne Gretzky is or if they have ever played any form of hockey, and undoubtedly
you would hear them say yes more often than no. Hockey influences all ages, from youth signing
up for minor hockey, to adults taking their children to a game or even the older generations sitting
in front of their television in hopes that the Toronto Maple Leafswill beat the Ottawa Senators. The
examination of these cultural influences allows the argument to be made that hockey can in fact
be deemed Canada s game (Holman 153).Through investigation of the amount of youth that
participate in minor hockey, the statistics involving the amount of professional Canadian hockey
players and the success that Canada has achieved in the world of professional hockey, such as the
Olympics, NHL and IIHF World Juniors, it will become evident that hockey is and will continue to
be viewed as Canada s game . (Holman 153)

In 1913, the United States Congress created the world s most powerful monetary system, called
the Federal Reserve (Investopedia). It involves one central agency and twelve regional Federal
Reserve Banks that are accountable for their designated areas in the United States (Investopedia).
Its primary purpose was to establish a secure, malleable, and a solid financial system which was to
prevent financial devastation during times of crisis (Investopedia). More specifically, prior to the
creation of the Federal ReserveBank, the United States had bouts of crisis that created panic among
the citizens. In utter terror, people would withdraw their funds from their banks causing a domino
effect of financial institutions being pushed out of business due to a deficiency of money
(stlouisfed). Therefore, the Federal Reserve Act was endorsed as a resolution to crisis periods,
providing a money supply that would balance the economy, and introduce Federal Reserve Notes as
a form of new currency (stlouisfed). In essence, the Federal Reserve became fully responsible for
developing a comprehensive banking system that would allow for a strong economy. Therefore, one

Descriptive Essay About Stress
Memoir Assignment Utter bewilderment fills those curious about the past, but the ones who
make an attempt to relate it to the future; are the ones who possess a blessing, yet a curse. Those
who wonder about the future have all experienced one thing; stress. Stress is present in all life,
including mine, but the feeling is much more potent in some than others. It is taken upon my
soul to hate when others make assumptions about my personal stress, without knowing the
cause... which has occurred from the time I stepped on this planet. Personally speaking, stress is
not present in my life for the reasons many might think, such as school and homework. The ones
who assume those things about myself have only etched my bare surface. Lost in my thoughts, I

The Annihilation Of Space By Law
Q4. Don Mitchell, in his article The Annihilation of Space by Law, argues that ordinances passed
against the poor in the 1990s point to a highly exclusionary type of modern citizenship. What does
he mean by this? In what ways are the poor excluded from modern citizenship? How is this
exclusion justified socio politically?
Space is never innocent. Regardless of whether a specific area is deemed public or private, space
is never innocent because of the bodies who govern those areas. Today, there are approximately 3.2
million Canadians who are either homeless or transitionally homeless, but regardless of their
citizenship, they are not considered as modern citizens by the society. Mitchell puts forth the
argument that the ordinances passed in the 1990s has stripped vagrants of their rights as actual
Canadian citizens and has created an elite class of citizenship that only the privilege can enjoy.
According to the Canadian government, an individual is deemed as a citizen of Canada if they
fulfill certain requirements such as being born in the country, applying for a citizenship, or being
born to at least one Canadian parent. With this citizenship, these individuals can now experience a
wide variety of privileges such as having the ability to vote, to either enter or leave the country, and
to enjoy all the rights and freedoms that are associated with the Canadian Charter of Rights and
Freedoms. Some of these rights include the right to public assembly and

Excessive Pride In The Iliad
Excessive pride Excessive pride seems to be the core of people s everyday struggles. Having
excessive pride can turn into being obnoxious and self centered. Believing in what you only say
and not being opened minded to the people around you could also have an outcome of disastrous
events. In the novel the iliadby Homer many characters struggle with this trait, some overcome it
and some feed into it. In the beginning of the book Agamemnon seems to be self centered with the
way he leads. Achillestries to defend the people by exclaiming why it s wrong for agamemnon to
take all the prizes that his men have worked for. Agamemnon basically thinks he has higher
seniority which means he gets to pick the best prizes to have amongst his men that they worked
for. When achilles doesn t agree with this he threatens to leave and agamemnon says Fly if you
will, I shall make you no prayers to stay you. I have others here who will do me honor, and above
all Jove, the lord of council. After the war began He realized he shouldn t have underestimated
the trojans, for the achaeans were now losing against them. Later on in the book he puts his pride

Over Concentration Of Services Essay
This study identifies four strands of thought that outline the factors which can lead to the over
concentration of services; traditional trade theory, new trade theory, new economic geography
theory and the interplay between globalisation and competition. It is from this four factors in which
the negative effects of the over concentration of services are created. These negative effects will be
discussed and analysed in a bid to understand what can done to reduce them. Polycentricity and
territorial cohesion policy, and the measures associated with their implications, are identified as the
tools for reducing the negative effects of over concentration. The study also questions the extent of
success of these tools. Europeis viewed as the best platform to comprehend the relevant concepts
and thus will provide the context in which to carry out the study.
Traditional trade theory explains the over concentration of services through variations in labour
skills and other contributions to production (Heckscher 1919; Ohlin 1933), or in productivity
(Ricardo 1917). These differences establish comparative advantages (Ricardo 1917) between cities,
regions and countries. Thus, trade allows the concentration of services to grow and shrink in
reaction to these advantages.
In reality, cities, regions and countries may have different production arrangements but similar
production technologies (Krugman 1991a). Post Fordist countries predominantly trade goods of a
similar product type, i.e.

Vampire Diaries Characters
The T.V show The Vampire Diaries is a CW teen drama series that involves danger, romance, action
and suspense. The show is not just about vampires and werewolves, but it also has other
supernatural elements such as hybrids, witches and vampire hunters. Let s just say that even though
it s compared to the Twilight movies, The Vampire Diaries
is an old fashion lovestory where you can
expect the unexpected. Where the audience can also connect with the characters situations. Even
though it s a fictional show, it involves real life situations that an ordinary person can go through.
The producer Julie Plec did a beautiful job with the plot, the relationship of the characters, how the
show itself connected with the audience, and the setting.
Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), recently an orphan, lives in her hometown Mystic Falls with her
aunt and her younger brother Jeremy, who got involved in drugs after his parent s death. Stefan
Salvatore (Paul Wesley), is a vampire who later meets Elena in school and takes an interest on
her. Stefan is a good vampire that can control himself around humans and can survive on animal
blood. But he is later surprised with the arrival of his brother, Damon Salvatore (Ian
Somerhalder). Damon is the opposite as his brother, he is more of a bad boy who doesn t care
what other say and does whatever he wants. Both take an interest on Elena because she resembles
an old love of Damon and Stefan from 19th century. As the show goes on we see how Elena makes

Essay on quot;The Raped Girl s Father quot;
The Raped Girl s Father
Bones, she was diced bones rolled on black. The Raped Girl s Father is a disturbing poem about
a girl who is unluckily raped, and how this brings incredible anger and shame to her father. Written
by Bruce Dawe, it contains an inept use of thought, feeling and language. It is an absorbing
evocation of the girl s feelings and her horrendous suffering, and how her identity has changed as a
consequence of the rape for herself, her father and society.
In the first two lines, an aural image is employed to indicate a never ending anger in the girl s
father. Dawe uses onomatopoeia to create a disturbing and upsetting description of his enraged buzz
saw whine. An annoying, upsetting sound, it gives the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The malevolent personification of darkness creates the sense that it symbolising her father, and
perhaps the rapist wants to hurt, cause fear and distress, and is a genuine danger to her.
So the girl lies in that darker dark , where there is simply no hope or relief of the grief that she is
feeling. What is this darker dark ? This concept causes the reader to assume she has given up and
is powerless; that this dark is completely evil, and damaging her. A victim, she lies in what she
believes will not cease. For every second of her father s brutal anger she feels his jaws rasp on the
naked bone. Another auditory image, this is an incredibly harsh sound that evokes disturbing
violence, a vicious sense of him biting and cutting into her. Furthermore, the girl feels pain to his
anger, right to her naked bone or her core. She is raw and exposed, and a disturbing impression of
death, violation and cruelty is conveyed. Because of the rape and the consequence of her father s
anger, she has lost all innocence and is utterly vulnerable.
In a crescendo of pain, devastation and hysteria, the girl mentions her terror in reliving the rape
when going through the justice system. Juxtaposed with the jaws rasp[ing] on the naked bone , the

The Civil War Of America
The Civil War The American Civil War was a civil war fought from 1861 to 1865 to determine the
survival of the Union or independence for the Confederacy. Among the 34 states in 1861, seven
Southern slave states declared their secession from the United States and formed the Confederate
States of America. The Confederacy, the South, included eleven states. The states that remained
loyal to the United States and did not declare secession were known as the Union or the North.
The war had its origin in the factious issue of slavery, especially the extension of slavery into the
western territories. After four years of fighting, which left over 600,000 Union and Confederate
soldiers dead and destroyed much of the South s infrastructure, the... Show more content on

to interfere with the institution of slavery in the United States where it exists. I believe I have no
lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so. The first six to secede had the highest
proportions of slaves in their populations, a total of 48.8 percent for the six. Outgoing Democratic
President James Buchanan and the incoming Republicans rejected secession as illegal. Lincoln s
inaugural address declared his administration would not initiate civil war. Eight remaining slave
states continued to reject calls for secession. Confederate forces seized numerous federal forts
within territory claimed by the Confederacy. Efforts at compromise failed, and both sides prepared
for war. The Confederates assumed that European countries were so dependent on King Cotton that
they would intervene; none did and none recognized the new Confederate States of America.
Because Europe relied on cotton so heavily they had to find a new place to receive their cotton.
They found Egyptian cotton which later became a much more desirable fabric.
The causes of the Civil War were complex and have been controversial since the war began.
James C. Bradford wrote that the issue has been further complicated by historical revisionists, who
have tried to offer a variety of reasons for the war. Slavery was the

There is specific clothing that men and women should wear when it comes to dressing for
success. But first, that man or woman needs to a have a good idea of what the company culture
is for that business. Is the company culture, when it comes to the dress code, business casual or

what type of clothing men and women should wear as well as what kind of clothing accessories
are deemed appropriate.Company culture is the personality of a company. It characterizes the
environment in which employees work. Knowing if the corporate culture of the business is
business casual or business professional is essential when deciding what to wear. A business
casual style of dress is meant to look neat and well groomed, feel relaxed and comfortable, and
appear classy ( Business Casual Attire Guidelines par. 1). Business casual clothing choices are
not the same as casual clothes one might wear on a Sunday afternoon at home watching football
or clothes one would wear to a night club. Business professional has a more clear cut set of
guidelines. Most people will be wearing suits or jackets. Neutral and darker colors are common
as well as simple choices when it comes to jewelry and shoes ( Business Casual VS Business

Charlie suddenly becomes conscious of his previously pitiful existence which leads to a slew of
feelings such as embarrassment, shame, and superiority. Charlie thinks that becoming smart will
make him happy and well liked, but the operation works the opposite effect. Charlie starts to look
down on everyone, and cannot socialize with others because of his IQ. As a result, Charlie becomes
almost depressed. His depression deepens when Charlie discovers that his intelligence will not be

The Importance Of Critical Thinking In Nursing
This paper aims to examine the etiology, evidence of lack of utilization of critical thinking, the legal
ramifications, Federal regulations, and the strategies that can be applied to boost the utilization of
critical thinking in the clinical setting. The paper acknowledges that critical thinking is a key
element in healthcare settings and that it should be one of the required core competencies in
nursing. Analysis of studies illustrates that nurses lack adequate critical thinking skills, as indicated
by their performance in CTS tests. Some of the legal ramifications in nursing include the risk of
being sued, for malpractice, professional and ethical misconduct and negligence. The federal
regulations including the Privacy Act (1974) guide how information of the patients should be
handled. To improve critical thinking skills among nurses, it is crucial to integrate critical thinking
skills into the teaching curriculum. Etiology The complexity of healthcare is increasing, so is the
accountability of the nurses to increase hence critical thinking is becoming an important skill in the
classroom, boardroom, and the bedside. Evidence based nursing solely relies on critical thinking
features that are essential for providing an objective, and goal oriented methodology for practice
(Papathanasiou et al., 2014). The skills that are integral to nursing practice include analyzing,
seeking information, logical reasoning, discriminating, applying standards, predicting as well as

Examples Of Double Conciousness In To Kill A Mockingbird
|Q: Favorite and least favorite characters?| Most of the brilliantly portrayed characters in To Kill A
Mockingbird, I found very lovable. I grew close to them whilst delving into the beautifully crafted,
though at times stereotypical southern town. I found them all to be complex and intriguing.
I found Mayella Ewell to be one of the most unlikeable characters. I do realize that she was
unhappy due to her extremely overbearing father, and that she was a lonely girl. She had the chance
to change the entire trial of Tom Robinson. She had the chance to make everything right and clear
the innocent man s name, but she didn t do anything. She should not be pardoned because of her
shameful indictment in Tom Robinson s trial.

|Question one: Did TKAM hold your interest?| Yes! I found the book to be very riveting. It flowed
very smoothly. There was never a dull moment, from discovering the presents Boo Radley left, to
solving the Tom Robinson trial.
One part I found a little dull was the introduction. The story of Scout and Jem s ancestors coming
up the river, establishing their property in Maycomb, and being there ever since. I found it a little
boring, the entire story of their family. I was instantly sucked in at the moment they met Dil,
because of how playful he was.
The most exciting part was the trial of Tom Robinson. There was so much tension leading up to
the actual trial, I was biting my nails and tearing through the pages. I was shocked to find out that
Mayella did, in fact offer a proposition to Tom, but was caught by her father, and accused him of
rape to cover her shame and guilt, and that her father inflicted the wounds on her face. Yet, despite
all the evidence, the all white jury convicted him. I was torn to pieces when Tom was shot to death

A Brief Note On Children With Down s Syndrome
Shanleigh Blackburn 670207Paediatrics Assignment: Down s Syndrome I believe that children
with Down s Syndrome can benefit greatly from Physiotherapy, due to the physical impairments
often associated with their condition. What is Down s Syndrome?: Down s Syndrome is a
genetic condition affecting one in every 1000 births world wide. It is estimated that 700 babies
are born with Down s Syndrome annually. (Robertson, 2016) Typically, there are 23 pairs of
chromosomes in a normal, healthy human being. One pair from the mother, one from the
father. Chromosomes are found in every cell of the human body, they carry a genetic code that
determines specific traits in every human being. (Park 625 627, 2014) Occasionally, one of the
chromosomes may be missing or an extra copy of a chromosome forms. When this happens, it
results in a multitude of genetic abnormalities. These abnormalities are classified as syndromes.
(ndds.org/DownsSyndrome, 2016) Downs Syndrome (Trisomy 21) is a genetic disorder caused
by a third copy of chromosome 21. (Park 625 627, 2014) There are three different types of Down
s Syndrome; Trisomy 21, the most common form of Down s Syndrome, where an extra copy of
chromosome 21 exists in every cell. In Mosaicism, there is an extra copy of chromosome in some
of the cells, these children often present with fewer symptoms. And lastly, Translocation, where
there is an extra segment attached to chromosome 21 itself, often only affects one set of
chromosomes.

My Speech
Before I began my speech I was very thrilled, excited, and motivated. I expressed a large desire to
go first since there was no formal order of speakers. Minutes before class started, rehearsed my
speech a few times to ensure that I have my content sharp and that I am following the outline to
my best ability. Afterwards, it was only minutes before Dr. Lora said It is 8 on my watch, so let us
get started. Right then and there, I got up and approached the stage with confidence. Another
important factor that made me feel prepared was not only the rehearsing but it was the content. I
know my friend Adam Arata very well, so it was easy to talk highly about him. So, overall the
most important thing that made me feel well prepared to go first was the content and the practice.

of times I have presented, I was a little nervous this time when I was speaking. This was evident by

the current businessenvironment has not come instantaneously, but, there has been continual

Mullelr and Glial Cells Essay
This experiment was done to determine the main purpose Muller cells, a type of glial cell, and
its cell regions have in the body. The Muller cell s endfoot was of particular interest, and
scientists wanted to observe the affects the endfoot has on conductance and resistance, as well as
its overall purpose. The results from this experiment could then provide us with a more
generalized view of the purpose that other glial cells, especially astrocytes, have in the brain. It was
hypothesized that if most of the Muller cell s conductance was located in the endfoot, then the
resistance in the endfoot would also vary significantly compared to the rest of the cell and this

The measurement of resistance in the Muller cell with the endfoot still intact was much lower than
when the resistance in the cell after the endfoot had been removed. Additionally, when researchers
cut a part of the cell above the endfoot, leaving the endfoot untouched, the cell resistance did
increase slightly, but not by very much. These observations helped to prove that the endfoot, not
other parts of the cell, contributes to most of the cell s resistance, and therefore conductance. When
measuring impedance in the cell, the endfoot impedance increased when penetrated, while other
parts of the cell showed no real changes. When KCl solution was added into the cell and the amount
of potassium ion efflux was recorded along the cell, it was found that about the same amount of
potassium efflux occurred all along the cell membrane, with the endfoot having a much greater
efflux of potassium ions than anywhere else on the Muller cell. All in all, it was determined that the
Muller endfoot is not only where the highest conductance and lowest membrane resistance in the
cell is locate, but also where the most potassium channels are located. Therefore, the endfoot greatly
controls how much potassium ion movement. This goes for Muller

Differences Between Fahrenheit And Fahrenheit
2.2 Compare + contrast the Kelvin, Fahrenheit, and Celsius temperature scales and be able to

Today we use three temperature scales. The first of these scales was Fahrenheit scale. It was
developed in 1714 by German scientist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit. He developed first mercury
thermometer after being inspired by alcohol thermometer invented by Danish scientist Olaus
Roemer. Fahrenheit made it more precise by multiplying his scale by four. He establish zero by
mixing equal amount of water, ice and salt. Then he mixed just equal amount of ice and salt, and
scales gave him next point 32. The last point he establish by using body temperature which was
approximately 96. After his death his scale was adjusted to 32 as melting temperature of plain
water, normal body temperature at 98.6 and boiling point of plain water at 212. Fahrenheit
temperature scale was widely replaced by Celsius scale, except USA and some Caribbean countries.
Celsius scale was developed in 1742 by Swedish astronomer Andres Celsius. When he was
developing his scale, he marked 0 as boiling point and 100 as freezing point. This scale was known
as centigrade. After his death in 1948 The Conference General des Poids et Measures renamed
this scale to Celsius and establish the scale as we know it today. Melting point at 0 degree and
boiling point at 100 degrees. This scale is the most use scale in the world. The last scale we use

Anti Semitism In The Holocaust
Before the Holocaust and the killing of millions of Jews, many events took place solidifying the
hatred towards Jews in Germany. People in Germany did not hate Jews overnight, a long history of
universal hate towards Jews took place first. Throughout history the Jewish people have been
victims of anti semitism because they do not fully assimilate, causing them to be outsiders. This
historical backing of anti semitism with the combination of a poor economy, strong German
identity and humiliation, causes Germanyto have strong anti semitic sentiments during the 1920s
and 1930s. Anti semitism started in seventy c.e. when the Romans destroyed the temple in
jerusalem because the Jewsrefused to worship their gods (Bergen). The destruction of the temple
was one of the first times in history people took action against the Jews and tried to harm them.
The Jewish people were viewed as the others because of their religion and were punished for it.
The romans did not stop at destroying the temple, the Jewish people were blamed for the
crucifixion of Jesus Christ, even when crucifixion was a roman form of execution (Bergen). The
blame of killing Jesus caused many Christians to hate the Jews, and give the Christians and
legitimate reason to discriminate. Blaming Jews for events that were not in their control is a
pattern seen thru history. The Jews were also blamed for the black death in 1348, even when their
was no evidence that the Jews caused a plague (Bergen). The build up of hate

The Discovery Of The 19th Century
In the 19th century Americans saw it as their duty to accomplish what many might believe to be
unrealistic, to connect North America from coast to coast. Manifest Destiny is a term that
describes the attitude that many Americans had during this era of transformation and
progression. Americans claimed the right to bring civilization westward and transform the
unknown world into a land where men could live and be free. However, with this movement of
progression Westward meant destruction for many Native Americans. California native s
suffered greatly due to the invasion and great influx of foreigners into their land due to the
natural resources California offers. These resources attracted many and as a result California
natives witnessed their land being destroyed along with their people and culture stripped away
from them. By 1849, gold was discovered in California which attracted many, all in hope of
finding gold and becoming wealthy off of it. The discovery of gold meant destruction for
California natives, especially the Yuki Indians that lived in Round Valley. Before the gold rush,
there were about 13,000 non Indians in California and by the 1860s census takers counted
362,196 non Indians in California. Due to the discovery of gold, many Yuki Indians and other
California natives were killed to be removed off their land and allow for the excavation of gold.
Killings, rape, disease, and child abduction caused a rapid decrease among the Yuki Indians. From

Apple Strategic Management
Apple Inc. Analysis Strategic Management
Introduction
Strategic management is the process by which an organization drafts, implements and evaluates
cross functional decisions that enable the organization to achieve its long term objectives. It entails
the process of specifying the mission of the organization, its vision, objectives and the development
of the various strategies to achieve the objectives of the organization. Apple Inc. (Apple) has
managed to create substantial value in the highly competitive personal computer industry, by
innovating and forging a path considerably different from those of the largest competitors in the
industry. The corporation also successfully differentiates its products from those of the competitors

Bill Gates and Microsoft were encouraging Apple to license their OS in the early 1980s, because
they were developing software for Apple and had much riding on the success of the company.
When Apple did not license, Microsoft began developing their operating system, Windows. (Apple
Inc. 2010c).
Apple Corporation also operates in the music industry. The company enjoys a dominant market
share in the music industry though competition is tough. According to Jade (2006), though digital
music sales are growing rapidly, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) states
that digital sales of all music are still low. Deutschman (2000) notes that Apple s sales in the
music industry amount to between 66% and 75% of downloads and 80% of music players (Apple,
2005). Apple is part to a suit alleging monopolistic practices concerning their market share
dominance of players and downloads (Apple Inc. 2010b)
The other players in the download market are (the revised) Napster, Yahoo Music, Rhapsody, and
illegitimate file sharing services among others. Portable music players competing with the iPod
include those made by Creative, Samsung, iRiver, and Sony. A major point of contention between
these services and player manufacturers is the control of a variety of incompatible Digital Rights
Management (DRM) schemes.

Destruction Of Louisiana Essay
Louisiana is gradually declining in size due to the loss of coastal marshes and wetlands. After
several years, Louisiana has a big probability of having no land whatsoever. The problem is slowly
getting larger, and if something isn t performed, soon enough Louisiana will be a place that only
contains water. Regarding coastal erosions, it alters places economically, environmentally, and
socially. Natural events happen that leads to the destruction of Louisianas wetlands; however,
human activities causes it too. First of all, Louisiana s economy is abundantly affected in this
catastrophe. Fishing industry is greatly impacted because if the coastal marshes disappears, then the

Instead of sustaining marshes, it adds on to the problem. From page 36, it states, They direct river
water straight into the Gulf of Mexico, where it no longer deposits sediment along the coast.
Levees have the capability to stop the sediment, and that s a huge detriment to the marshes.
Therefore, levees can t support the marshes that well and keep the sea level rise. Although, the
blame can be also directed to human activities. Agriculture, cutting down forests, oil drilling, and
constantly constructing building, roads, and cities. For example, from page 13, it explicitly
shows, The search for oil in the coastal marshes has hastened coastal erosion. People might not
recognize right away, but rash decisions can quickly endanger wetlands and marshes. If Louisiana
gets smaller, people who live there can be slightly in fault. Every decision can result with
consequences. Even if the human population were the cause to this humungous problem, natural
causes are part of the reasons as to why Louisiana is losing too much land every hour. Such as
having salt water in Baton Rouge s water. From page 37, it states, The slower river current would
allow saltwater from the Gulf of Mexico to intrude up the Mississippi River as far as Baton Rouge.
Saltwater isn t healthy, and it s best if it s blocked to approach clean water. There are already too
much expenses, and health problems will only add up to more

Wild At Heart Analysis
The 1990 film, Wild at Heart directed by David Lynch, is a violent satire on the power struggle
of a working class criminal and his girlfriend who are fighting against the girlfriend s evil psycho
mother who wants him dead because the mother is controlling and jealous of her daughter s
sexuality and youth. The film follows young rebellious lovers, Sailor and Luna who seek to run
away from the craziness of their worlds to live a fantasy but end up finding the violent reality of
America. Lula s mom, Marietta causes them to face obstacles within their relationship by trying
to get Sailor killed twice. These young lovers decide to run from their problems and go on a
road trip to California, on their way they make stops in New Orleans and Texas. Throughout the
film there are concepts and terms of the comic spirit that are showcased throughout the film such
as parody, bragger male archetype, euphemisms, contamination, disguise, parabasis, and
inversion. The films main character Sailor, is a parody of Elvis. Sailor is a hyper masculine
character, with a manic energy, and vocal mannerisms like Elvis Presley. The parody of Elvis
not only is shown through Sailors vocal mannerism but also in the film we see examples of
parabasis where Sailor stops the band playing and begins to sing Love Me by Elvis to Lula.
During this scene, while Sailor is singing we hear girls screaming in admiration as if Elvis was
actually the one singing. The girls that surround Sailor while he singing, look

organisation chooses to follow in order to fulfil its mission . Today, strategies are vital for
businesses, in many cases it helps to achieve a competitive advantage. Increasing competition in
most sectors and technological development has led to accelerated changes in the global economy.
In order to meet the market needs, strategies encourage and enable the adaptation of companies in a

two positions are that the only way to succeed here is through cost effectively selling quantity,
and by constantly attracting new clients. These businesses will not be winning any customer
loyalty contests, but they may be able to sustain themselves as long as they stay one step ahead
of the consumer (Mindtools, 2012) 2.2.2 Differentiation Strategies From number 3 through
number 5 (hybrid, differentiation and focused differentiation) are companies that are offering a
customised product or service. The service or product is designed separately for each individual
customer, and therefore customers are prepared to pay a price premium for that. The examples
given is British Airways whose goal is to present better quality service to its customers,
stakeholders and employees alike (British Airways, 2010). A lot of companies in hospitality
industry (such as 3 to 5 star hotels) would not try to compete on price; they would try to position
themselves near position 4 or 5 on the model by offering something better, or improve a service.
However in order to choose focused differentiation as strategy, businesses need to have a strong

The practice of variation in China can be documented to the seventeenth century, and be traced
back to the sixteenth century (Plotkin 5). The practice in China carried into Europe in the
seventeenth century and expanded. The seventeenth and eighteenth century were a crucial time
in the creation of vaccines to prevent diseases. The first step of the innovation came from
inoculation. Centuries ago, it had been observed that those who were infected by the smallpox
disease and lived were never affected again. The practice of inoculation, which is defined as
artificial introduction of a disease into the body. In the late seventeenth century, inoculations
were being performed in the Turkish empire. The method of inoculation appeared to work, but
was also dangerous. The inoculation started with the collection of pus from a mildly infected
person. The pus was then dripped and rubbed into a scratch made by a needle in an unaffected
person s arm. The Turkish empire is to credit for the spread of the new medicinal knowledge.
Lady Mary, the wife of Britain s ambassador, pushed for the inoculation. She wrote to her friend
that, I am going to tell you a thing that will make you wish yourself here. The smallpox, so fatal
and so general among us, is here entirely harmless... (Marrin 36). Her words described the

The Effective Use of Tone in Flannery O Connor s A Good Man is Hard to Find
Flannery O Connor s short story, A Good Man is Hard to Find, begins with a
Southern family preparing to go on what seems to be a typical vacation. The story is humorous at
first because the reader is unaware of how the story will end. The tone changes dramatically from
amusing to frightening and plays an important part in making the story effective.
The narrator starts the story giving background information about the grandmother and her son,
Bailey. The narrator explains that the grandmother didn t want to go to Florida (320). Although a
major conflict could result from her dislike of the family s choice of vacation spots, it does not.

The narrator describes the mother as a young woman in slacks, whose face was as broad and
innocent as a cabbage and was tied around with a green headkerchief that had two points on the
top like a rabbit s ears (320). This is when the humor begins. John Wesley, Bailey s son, asks the
grandmother, If you don t want to go to Florida, why dontcha stay at home? (320). June Star replies
that She wouldn t stay home to be queen for a day, and goes on to say, She wouldn t stay at home
for a million bucks. Afraid she d miss something. She has to go everywhere we go (320). Even
though these statements from the children to their grandmother are disrespectful, they do describe
her character, as she was the first one in the car... the following morning (320).
The story continues to have comical parts as the family continues traveling to Florida until the
grandmother remembers of a time when she was young and decides she wants to visit an old
home. She tells the children about a house and even lies to them and says that there are secret
panels (324). They become very excited and Bailey decides to let them go see it and on the way
there is when the tone and story line changes.
The children yelled We ve had an ACCIDENT! and the reader is not sure what will happen next.

family and the grandmother recognizes one of the occupants as the Misfit, the tone

How Does Elie Wiesel Use Dramatic Irony In Night
The number of students in the Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools District could be multiplied by
five hundred to reach the number of Jewish deaths during the Holocaust. This number would
equal six million lives. Of these six million, one million were at the Auschwitz complex, where
the family of Elie Wiesel was killed. Known as the world s largest graveyard, Auschwitz was the
last place many Jewish people knew, including Elie s mother and sister, who were killed
immediately upon arrival. Elie was only 15 when he was taken from his home in Sighet, Hungary
to the concentration camp of Auschwitz Birkenau in 1944, but the persecution of the Jews began as
early as 1933. Many have speculated why the victims of the Holocaustdid not see their fate... Show

This situational irony is used to show how the blinding optimism and denial of the Jews
contradicts what will actually happen to them. One source of situational irony shows how the
expectations differed from reality when The families arrived in Auschwitz with their most
treasured possessions packed into suitcases. On the outside of each case, the unsuspecting
owners wrote their names and dates of birth, believing their things would be returned (Winfrey
Wiesel). The fact that the Jews are being forced into cars meant for animals and taken to what
would be most of their deaths is so different from what the Jewish people expected. The Jews
believe they are being taken to eastern Europe, and this journey is just a small relocation, so
they can live in safety until the war is over. They pack their finest possessions for their stay,
when their belongings would actually be taken from them as soon as they get to the camps. This
optimistic look on the deportation is responsible for the unpreparedness of the Jews. Their
expectations differ from their new reality, and they are unsure of what they can do to help
themselves once they get there. Situational irony is also shown in Night as the Jews attempt to
pack for the camp with food, and Elie describes, The women were cooking eggs, roasting meat,
baking cakes, and making knapsacks (Wiesel 25). The Jewish

Evaluating Kodak s Corporate Strategy
Background Eastman Kodak Company, headquartered in Rochester New York, was founded in

Shays Rebellion and Young American Democracy
After the Revolutionary War, the newly formed United States were finding their governmental
system, the Articles of Confederation, facing its first years of trials. One of these trials, which was
a culmination of many political and economic conflicts of the times, was Shays Rebellion. Shays
Rebellion was an armed rebel uprising that took place in Massachusetts during 1786 and 1787. The
Rebellion was a result of long standing and increasing disaffection with State and Federal
governments by farmers and others affected by tax and debt imbalances resulting from the falling
out with Britain after the Revolutionary War. Revolutionary War veteran Daniel Shays led a group

Man Vs Nature in Yann Martel s Life of Pi Essay
Author Nancy Wynne Newhall once wrote The Wilderness holds answers to more questions than
we have yet learned to ask. To man, nature can be manipulated and overrun easily but it is not
easily destroyed permanently. In Life of Pi by Yann Martel, Pi convinces himself he has altered the
beastly nature of his tiger companion, Richard Parker, however, he fails to realize this as a
misconception until the certain events with Richard Parker that ultimately revealing that the savage
naturewithin wild animals cannot be tamed.
To overcome his constant fear of Richard Parker, Pi devises a system in an attempt to tame the
wild beast. Pi realizes the tiger is important to keep around but he is frightened by his presence and
killer instincts. His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being more comfortable around such a beast, however, later proves to be a fault of Pi s. The
unpredictable behavior of such a wild animal causes a huge threat to Pi. Richard Parker
exemplifies this wild behavior by bursting over the ridge at full gallop...coming [Pi s] way high
speed (Martel 263). Pi describes this event as a rapid and direct approach of a known killer
which casts a different image of Richard Parker than the previous seemingly harmless companion
(Martel 236). Pi s reaction to his fear is using his method of whistle which causes more anger
within Richard Parker. Richard Parker s unexpected reaction to the training method proves how
capricious a personality of an animal is. Thus, attempted taming of a wild animal was merely a
distant goal Pi thought he had accomplished.
The violent outbreak of Richard Parker, along with his silent departure at the end of the novel,
portrays how futile it is to try to change a wild animal into a civilized being. Richard Parker
seems, at first, to have experienced a spiritual breakthrough and transformation after Pi s attempt to
training. Even in the end, Pi s ability to survive such a journey with a beastly killer seems
evidence enough that Pi trained the tiger. Pi s main goal, along with survival, is to establish a level
of equality between himself

Organizational Culture and Sick Leave
Organisational Culture and Sick Leave
1 Introduction
Sick leave is a significant policy for both employees and employers in modern businesses. This
policy can be problematic for Australian business, as employees that aren t sick are taking leave.
These illegitimate claims are causing them to lose millions of dollars. In the case study sick leave
costing employers it is exploring the use of this leave in organisations by employees, when not sick.
Since this is affecting Australian Businesses, to prevent further loss, it is necessary to explore what
is causing these claims, which is crucial to understanding how to limit its impact upon organisations.
2 Explanation
For Australian Businesses a key aspect of the work place is the organisational culture, as this
principle has significant influence upon the workplace. Organisational culture is ...manifested in the
typical characteristics of the organization, in other words, organizational culture should be regarded
as the right way in which things are done or problems should be understood in the organization
(Sun, 2009). In relation to the sick leave case, organisational culture has great relevance and this is
the problem that has been identified and will be investigated through this report. The concept of
organisational culture will be explored through three areas of influence, which have been identified
as being impacted by organisational culture. The two that have been chosen are, job satisfaction and

The White Anglo Saxon Protestants (WASPs) have been at the top of the social hierarchy ever
since they arrived to America in the 1600s. The first wave of immigration consisted of the
Germans, Irish and Chinese. The WASPs created a way to measure the success of each immigrant
group. They acknowledged four factors of success that would show them whether an immigrant
group was successful or not. The first factor of success was how much money an immigrant had
when they came to America. The more money they came to America with, the more successful they
were. Another factor of an immigrant s success was how large the group they came with was. The

Through their settlement, they proved to the WASPs that they were capable of functioning in
society without disturbing the WASPs at all.
The WASPs also respected the Germans because the Germans were Protestant. The Germans also
proved that they were extremely hardworking. They created many businesses, some of which still
exist today. The Germans also brought over foods such as hot dogs, apple pie, and pretzels.
Furthermore, the Germans came in quite small numbers, which the WASPs definitely appreciated.
The Germans did not have to assimilate and live on their own, without the WASPs having to take
care of them. Finally, the Germans were relatively welcomed when they arrived to America. The
only stereotype given to them was a positive one, claiming that they were the model immigrants
that every other immigrant group should aspire to be like. All in all, the six million Germans who
came to the United States during the first wave were well liked by the WASPs and had a successful
and smooth immigration into America.
Arguably the least successful immigrant group that arrived to America was the Irish. When the
Irish landed in the United States, the WASPs immediately disliked them. First off, the Irish came
over with barely any money, which indicated to the WASPs that they were unsuccessful and
unintelligent. The Irish came over to America in tightly packed ships called coffin ships. They
were called coffin ships because 1/5 of the Irish died on

The Necessary And Proper Clauses
The Necessary and Proper clause goes by many names and known for causing many disputes
throughout the United States in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. What the clause states is that
The Congress shall have Power ...To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for
carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in
the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof (Document A). This
means that the United States Congresspossesses the abilities to create any and all laws that are

constitution. However, some individuals find flaws in this clause,... Show more content on

Contrary to a common belief, this was never put into place for Congress so that it may perform
evil deeds. In fact, part of the clause itself prevents it from doing so in the first place with the
definition of the word proper. However, this was either overlooked or was not perceived as the
truth, and began many disagreements. Some as major as stating that the clause was put into place
so that Congress has the power to do whatever it pleased, to those that are trivial in comparison.
Namely James Madison s note that the United States national government is not truly a national one
since its jurisdiction extends to certain enumerated objects only, and leaves to the several States a
residuary and inviolable sovereignty over all other objects (Document E). Other arguments began
over topics that came into existence because of the Necessary and Proper clause, e.g., the national
bank. President Andrew Jackson disliked the national bank because it benefitted those who were
already wealthy and did nothing for the poor (Document J). This and other reasons led the president
to veto the renewal of the national bank in an attempt to limit the role of the national government,
which influenced the depiction of him as a tyrant in document K. Even though it is the basis of
many political altercations in the early United States, the

  • 2. To agree with the statement, disguise and deception is... To agree with the statement, disguise and deception is used widely by Shakespeare. Throughout the play we only see Viola in her disguise as Cesario . From Act 1, Scene 2, we see her planning on using the disguise of a man to serve Orsino. The interactions between her and the other characters show dramatic ironyas they do not realise who Cesario actually is, however the audience does. Orsino, at the start of Act 2, scene 4 says Now good morrow, friends; Now, good Cesario. Orsino does not know the actual person he is talking to when he praises Cesario, just the same when he says Cesario is semblative a woman s part , saying that Cesario looks like a woman. For Shakespeare s audience there was a heightened level of irony because at that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is when Portia and Nerissa disguise themselves as men, specifically a lawyer and a clerk, as a way to save Antonio. This links into the way Viola uses an inner disguise to shield her real personality, she first goes into her disguise at the docks in Act 1, scene 2 when she says to the Captain Conceal me what I am, and be my aid. For such disguise as haply shall become the form of my intent. This shows how she is covering up what I am [she is] a woman, by the personality and physical disguise of a man. From this point onwards there is comedy due to the fact that she is disguised as a man and is fooling every other character, with the audience knowing all about this. This also shows that Shakespeare respects the audience enough to not have them fooled by Viola s disguise ;and he shows more sexual equality, as Viola plays a major part in the story and without her the play would have a lot less comedy. The structure of the play relies mostly on her actions, for example there would have been no love triangle without her and all the other characters would not have been deceived by her. Therefore, there would be no dramatic irony to create amusement. So, the dramatic irony of Viola s disguise makes characters seem ignorant and ridiculous creating comedy, but also through the audience s knowledge of Viola s true identity. Shakespeare resolves this confusion by Viola revealing herself in the last act, making it a zenith ending, with all the characters present ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Benefits Of Higher Education A higher education can help with people s emotional state and the health of that person. There is also the case that you don t have to be in college for that long to start working and gain a high paying wage. And. beyond money, education seems to make people happier and healthier (D). Not only does seeking a higher education gets you a higher paying wage it also makes you a happier person. This could work by the interaction with fellow students on the campus and more knowledge than the average human. On the graph it shows that from 2001 to 2010 the wage difference is slowly declining(Source C). The graph is showing that when looking at how much a college graduates makes after college it isn t as much as it use to be. There isn t going to be a substantial wage growth for the new college graduates. A higher education may not be what everyone thinks it is, being a source to making more money when you get out of high school. When the wages are going down for the college graduates, then it becomes apparent how expensive college really is. College cost is exceedingly high as of right now and may become higher as time goes by. Both cost and demand for college education have grown significantly in the years since Mr. Thiel was a student. He sees that rise as irrational (E). College is starting to become more expensive and it doesn t make sense that it is according to Mr. Thiel. There is no way to see if it will get higher, but if it does then is college really worth the price. The price of college is going up and the wage for new college graduates is starting to decrease. People are starting to realize this and just want to start making money to support a family as soon as they can. Two thirds say a major reason for not continuing their education is the need to support a family. Also 57 percent say they would prefer to work ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cave burial was one of the most common ways to put a body to rest. Placement of the bodies were in lava tubes, rock shelters, or hitches that contained several bodies inside. Burying the deceased in sand dunes or in earth was another common but preferred method. Majority of the sand dunes in Hawaii have some kind of history with burial (Kirch 240). Apart from buried in the earth, surface burials they had also conducted included cremation, which was performed by burning the corpse over a fire until the bones had charred into ash. When referring to sea burials, bodies of fishermen would be wrapped in red cloth, then put in the ocean to be eaten by sharks. It was believed that the essence of the fisherman would inhabit the shark s body (Redmond 4). Burying individuals have impacted the people of ancient Hawaiians greatly. As in other cultures, recognizing a deceased person played a key role in the ancient society, whether it was a strong leader or a stranger. This was no different for the Hawaiians, as death was a matter not taken lightly. Even though emotion is common while observing burial, native Hawaiian had taken it to another level. Relatives or close ones to the deceased person would tear away hair, knock out teeth with a stone, scar their skin, or even cut off an ear, especially if the high chief had passed (Fullard Leo). For the substrate, the SN1 is favor tertiary alkyl halide, while the SN2 is favor the primary alkyl halide. For the solvent, it is an important factor. • 12. Functions of Ubiquitin Specific Proteases Essay Eukaryotic cells rely on the ubiquitination of proteins for the proper control of their internal processes. Adding multiple ubiquitin groups aids in the breakdown of proteins, whereas adding only one ubiquitin serves regulatory roles other than degradation. The enzymatic activity of two protease classes frees ubiquitin groups from associated proteins: Ubiquitin specific proteases (USP) and Ubiquitin C terminal hydrolases (UCH). USPs are strongly involved in eukaryotic cellular functions and are found in copious amounts. Certain proteinligases attach ubiquitin to proteins, which degrades them and interferes with normal cellular functions. The discovery of a specific de ubiquitinating enzyme(HAUSP/USP7) found in humans was due to its... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The labels associated with the resulting proteins from previous steps were rinsed and removed. USP7 was purified and utilized in sedimentation trials in varying concentrations. Absorbance analysis was carried out after the samples were centrifuged. EBNA1 was purified, ubiquitinated, and combined with USP7, which was purified in previous steps. SDS PAGE was used to disrupt the protein interaction and separate them. The separated fragments were then used in a western blot, and analyzed after probing. The affinity of USP7 for EBNA1 and p53 was tested using a stepwise combination of titration, incubation, and fluorescence analysis. Lastly, amino acid residues of EBNA1and USP7 were studied by gel filtration and size exclusion chromatography. USP7 was found as hexahistidine fusion after being inserted (through a vector) in insect cells. The de ubiquitinating capacity of USP7 for conjugated ubiquitin groups was observed on EBNA1, and was shown to an efficient process. The capacity of USP7 to de ubiquitinate specific proteins in various environments (acidity, presence of inhibitors, and salt concentration) was studied. As seen in figure 2, USP7 sensitivity to salt concentration and acidity showed a steep slope followed by a plateau at lower salt concentrations and higher pH levels, while lower pH and higher salt concentrations rendered a steeper, less plateau like graph. USP7 was found to be a monomer with multiple domains, each involved ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Over the years millions of people have had there own interpretation of what is means to live. Also you can t blame him because as it is visible in the Republic, Thrasymachus says, I declare justice is nothing but the advantage of the stronger . All that this quote basically incorporates is that justice is nothing to normal people but in essence it s just an advantage to those people who are rulers and are stronger than the ordinary people. He brings up a great point stating that when robbery and violence are practiced by normal people its considered injustice, however when this is practiced by mass or most often by rulers or those in charge its considered justice. Since the rulers themselves do not obey the principles that they impose on the citizens, they are themselves unjust . Because of this the tyrant himself is happy because he breaks the rules of justice that he imposes on the weak people below him. When you are allowing yourself to be governed and controlled by someone else rather than yourself it is not justice it s basically considered slavery. These are all the ideas brought upon by Thrasymachus in the Republic. However on the other hand in Book I of the Republic Plato s mentor Socrates tries and contests Thrasymachus ideas. Its primary purpose was to establish a secure, malleable, and a solid financial system which was to prevent financial devastation during times of crisis (Investopedia). More specifically, prior to the creation of the Federal ReserveBank, the United States had bouts of crisis that created panic among the citizens. In utter terror, people would withdraw their funds from their banks causing a domino effect of financial institutions being pushed out of business due to a deficiency of money (stlouisfed). Therefore, the Federal Reserve Act was endorsed as a resolution to crisis periods, providing a money supply that would balance the economy, and introduce Federal Reserve Notes as a form of new currency (stlouisfed). It is taken upon my soul to hate when others make assumptions about my personal stress, without knowing the cause... which has occurred from the time I stepped on this planet. • 18. The Annihilation Of Space By Law Q4. Don Mitchell, in his article The Annihilation of Space by Law, argues that ordinances passed against the poor in the 1990s point to a highly exclusionary type of modern citizenship. What does he mean by this? In what ways are the poor excluded from modern citizenship? How is this exclusion justified socio politically? Space is never innocent. Regardless of whether a specific area is deemed public or private, space is never innocent because of the bodies who govern those areas. Today, there are approximately 3.2 million Canadians who are either homeless or transitionally homeless, but regardless of their citizenship, they are not considered as modern citizens by the society. Mitchell puts forth the argument that the ordinances passed in the 1990s has stripped vagrants of their rights as actual Canadian citizens and has created an elite class of citizenship that only the privilege can enjoy. According to the Canadian government, an individual is deemed as a citizen of Canada if they fulfill certain requirements such as being born in the country, applying for a citizenship, or being born to at least one Canadian parent. With this citizenship, these individuals can now experience a wide variety of privileges such as having the ability to vote, to either enter or leave the country, and to enjoy all the rights and freedoms that are associated with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. • 20. Over Concentration Of Services Essay This study identifies four strands of thought that outline the factors which can lead to the over concentration of services; traditional trade theory, new trade theory, new economic geography theory and the interplay between globalisation and competition. It is from this four factors in which the negative effects of the over concentration of services are created. These negative effects will be discussed and analysed in a bid to understand what can done to reduce them. Polycentricity and territorial cohesion policy, and the measures associated with their implications, are identified as the tools for reducing the negative effects of over concentration. The study also questions the extent of success of these tools. Europeis viewed as the best platform to comprehend the relevant concepts and thus will provide the context in which to carry out the study. Traditional trade theory explains the over concentration of services through variations in labour skills and other contributions to production (Heckscher 1919; Ohlin 1933), or in productivity (Ricardo 1917). These differences establish comparative advantages (Ricardo 1917) between cities, regions and countries. Thus, trade allows the concentration of services to grow and shrink in reaction to these advantages. In reality, cities, regions and countries may have different production arrangements but similar production technologies (Krugman 1991a). The Importance Of Critical Thinking In Nursing This paper aims to examine the etiology, evidence of lack of utilization of critical thinking, the legal ramifications, Federal regulations, and the strategies that can be applied to boost the utilization of critical thinking in the clinical setting. The paper acknowledges that critical thinking is a key element in healthcare settings and that it should be one of the required core competencies in nursing. Analysis of studies illustrates that nurses lack adequate critical thinking skills, as indicated by their performance in CTS tests. Some of the legal ramifications in nursing include the risk of being sued, for malpractice, professional and ethical misconduct and negligence. The federal regulations including the Privacy Act (1974) guide how information of the patients should be handled. To improve critical thinking skills among nurses, it is crucial to integrate critical thinking skills into the teaching curriculum. What is Down s Syndrome?: Down s Syndrome is a genetic condition affecting one in every 1000 births world wide. It is estimated that 700 babies are born with Down s Syndrome annually. (Robertson, 2016) Typically, there are 23 pairs of chromosomes in a normal, healthy human being. One pair from the mother, one from the father. Chromosomes are found in every cell of the human body, they carry a genetic code that determines specific traits in every human being. (Park 625 627, 2014) Occasionally, one of the chromosomes may be missing or an extra copy of a chromosome forms. When this happens, it results in a multitude of genetic abnormalities. These abnormalities are classified as syndromes. (ndds.org/DownsSyndrome, 2016) Downs Syndrome (Trisomy 21) is a genetic disorder caused by a third copy of chromosome 21. During the speech: As I indicated earlier, I was confident before my speech and that was no different for the way I felt during my speech. This speech was a little odd for me despite the content. I didn t have any notecards so if there was a time when I would forget a word or a line, I would have to make it up on the spot which I did several times. Furthermore, despite the number of times I have presented, I was a little nervous this time when I was speaking. This was evident by the delivery of my speech. I spoke clearly but there would be times when it didn t flow. However, for the most part, I felt a great level of comfort. Electronic means ensure that companies are competitive and efficient in terms of production. The high level of e commercein the current businessenvironment has not come instantaneously, but, there has been continual evolution. The centre of this evolution is technological advancement and globalization, two factors that have reduced the world to be in the form of a business village due to the ease in which operations are done. A sense of enhanced competition exists between various companies as they struggle to cope up with the high demands of the technology era[ ]. This essay outlines the development and the perspectives of e commerce. Being a large topic, the evolution of e commerce is discussed as a component of the disadvantages of e commerce. The use of the e commerce and e commerce selling invention hit the internet marketing with a thud on its invention in the late 1990s with its revolution of transforming the computer and internet industries. The Muller cell s endfoot was of particular interest, and scientists wanted to observe the affects the endfoot has on conductance and resistance, as well as its overall purpose. The results from this experiment could then provide us with a more generalized view of the purpose that other glial cells, especially astrocytes, have in the brain. It was hypothesized that if most of the Muller cell s conductance was located in the endfoot, then the resistance in the endfoot would also vary significantly compared to the rest of the cell and this would have huge impacts on how potassiumions removed from... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The measurement of resistance in the Muller cell with the endfoot still intact was much lower than when the resistance in the cell after the endfoot had been removed. Additionally, when researchers cut a part of the cell above the endfoot, leaving the endfoot untouched, the cell resistance did increase slightly, but not by very much. These observations helped to prove that the endfoot, not other parts of the cell, contributes to most of the cell s resistance, and therefore conductance. When measuring impedance in the cell, the endfoot impedance increased when penetrated, while other parts of the cell showed no real changes. When KCl solution was added into the cell and the amount of potassium ion efflux was recorded along the cell, it was found that about the same amount of potassium efflux occurred all along the cell membrane, with the endfoot having a much greater efflux of potassium ions than anywhere else on the Muller cell. All in all, it was determined that the Muller endfoot is not only where the highest conductance and lowest membrane resistance in the cell is locate, but also where the most potassium channels are located. Therefore, the endfoot greatly controls how much potassium ion movement. This goes for Muller ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Today we use three temperature scales. The first of these scales was Fahrenheit scale. It was developed in 1714 by German scientist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit. He developed first mercury thermometer after being inspired by alcohol thermometer invented by Danish scientist Olaus Roemer. Fahrenheit made it more precise by multiplying his scale by four. He establish zero by mixing equal amount of water, ice and salt. Then he mixed just equal amount of ice and salt, and scales gave him next point 32. The last point he establish by using body temperature which was approximately 96. After his death his scale was adjusted to 32 as melting temperature of plain water, normal body temperature at 98.6 and boiling point of plain water at 212. Fahrenheit temperature scale was widely replaced by Celsius scale, except USA and some Caribbean countries. Celsius scale was developed in 1742 by Swedish astronomer Andres Celsius. When he was developing his scale, he marked 0 as boiling point and 100 as freezing point. This scale was known as centigrade. After his death in 1948 The Conference General des Poids et Measures renamed this scale to Celsius and establish the scale as we know it today. • 37. Anti Semitism In The Holocaust Before the Holocaust and the killing of millions of Jews, many events took place solidifying the hatred towards Jews in Germany. People in Germany did not hate Jews overnight, a long history of universal hate towards Jews took place first. Throughout history the Jewish people have been victims of anti semitism because they do not fully assimilate, causing them to be outsiders. This historical backing of anti semitism with the combination of a poor economy, strong German identity and humiliation, causes Germanyto have strong anti semitic sentiments during the 1920s and 1930s. Anti semitism started in seventy c.e. when the Romans destroyed the temple in jerusalem because the Jewsrefused to worship their gods (Bergen). The destruction of the temple was one of the first times in history people took action against the Jews and tried to harm them. The Jewish people were viewed as the others because of their religion and were punished for it. The romans did not stop at destroying the temple, the Jewish people were blamed for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, even when crucifixion was a roman form of execution (Bergen). The blame of killing Jesus caused many Christians to hate the Jews, and give the Christians and legitimate reason to discriminate. Blaming Jews for events that were not in their control is a pattern seen thru history. The Jews were also blamed for the black death in 1348, even when their was no evidence that the Jews caused a plague (Bergen). The build up of hate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Manifest Destiny is a term that describes the attitude that many Americans had during this era of transformation and progression. Americans claimed the right to bring civilization westward and transform the unknown world into a land where men could live and be free. However, with this movement of progression Westward meant destruction for many Native Americans. California native s suffered greatly due to the invasion and great influx of foreigners into their land due to the natural resources California offers. These resources attracted many and as a result California natives witnessed their land being destroyed along with their people and culture stripped away from them. By 1849, gold was discovered in California which attracted many, all in hope of finding gold and becoming wealthy off of it. The discovery of gold meant destruction for California natives, especially the Yuki Indians that lived in Round Valley. Before the gold rush, there were about 13,000 non Indians in California and by the 1860s census takers counted 362,196 non Indians in California. Due to the discovery of gold, many Yuki Indians and other California natives were killed to be removed off their land and allow for the excavation of gold. • 52. Man Vs Nature in Yann Martel s Life of Pi Essay Author Nancy Wynne Newhall once wrote The Wilderness holds answers to more questions than we have yet learned to ask. To man, nature can be manipulated and overrun easily but it is not easily destroyed permanently. In Life of Pi by Yann Martel, Pi convinces himself he has altered the beastly nature of his tiger companion, Richard Parker, however, he fails to realize this as a misconception until the certain events with Richard Parker that ultimately revealing that the savage naturewithin wild animals cannot be tamed. To overcome his constant fear of Richard Parker, Pi devises a system in an attempt to tame the wild beast. Pi realizes the tiger is important to keep around but he is frightened by his presence and killer instincts. His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being more comfortable around such a beast, however, later proves to be a fault of Pi s. The unpredictable behavior of such a wild animal causes a huge threat to Pi. Richard Parker exemplifies this wild behavior by bursting over the ridge at full gallop...coming [Pi s] way high speed (Martel 263). Pi describes this event as a rapid and direct approach of a known killer which casts a different image of Richard Parker than the previous seemingly harmless companion (Martel 236). Pi s reaction to his fear is using his method of whistle which causes more anger within Richard Parker. Richard Parker s unexpected reaction to the training method proves how capricious a personality of an animal is. Thus, attempted taming of a wild animal was merely a distant goal Pi thought he had accomplished. The violent outbreak of Richard Parker, along with his silent departure at the end of the novel, portrays how futile it is to try to change a wild animal into a civilized being. Richard Parker seems, at first, to have experienced a spiritual breakthrough and transformation after Pi s attempt to training. Even in the end, Pi s ability to survive such a journey with a beastly killer seems evidence enough that Pi trained the tiger. Pi s main goal, along with survival, is to establish a level of equality between himself ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 54. AMH 2097 Paper 2 The White Anglo Saxon Protestants (WASPs) have been at the top of the social hierarchy ever since they arrived to America in the 1600s. The first wave of immigration consisted of the Germans, Irish and Chinese. The WASPs created a way to measure the success of each immigrant group. They acknowledged four factors of success that would show them whether an immigrant group was successful or not. The first factor of success was how much money an immigrant had when they came to America. The more money they came to America with, the more successful they were. Another factor of an immigrant s success was how large the group they came with was. The larger the group, the less respect and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through their settlement, they proved to the WASPs that they were capable of functioning in society without disturbing the WASPs at all. The WASPs also respected the Germans because the Germans were Protestant. The Germans also proved that they were extremely hardworking. They created many businesses, some of which still exist today. The Germans also brought over foods such as hot dogs, apple pie, and pretzels. Furthermore, the Germans came in quite small numbers, which the WASPs definitely appreciated. The Germans did not have to assimilate and live on their own, without the WASPs having to take care of them. Finally, the Germans were relatively welcomed when they arrived to America. The only stereotype given to them was a positive one, claiming that they were the model immigrants that every other immigrant group should aspire to be like. All in all, the six million Germans who came to the United States during the first wave were well liked by the WASPs and had a successful and smooth immigration into America. Arguably the least successful immigrant group that arrived to America was the Irish. When the Irish landed in the United States, the WASPs immediately disliked them. First off, the Irish came over with barely any money, which indicated to the WASPs that they were unsuccessful and unintelligent. The Irish came over to America in tightly packed ships called coffin ships. They were called coffin ships because 1/5 of the Irish died on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What the clause states is that The Congress shall have Power ...To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof (Document A). This means that the United States Congresspossesses the abilities to create any and all laws that are essential for the Congress s power to be demonstrated. This goes for other powers stated in the constitution. However, some individuals find flaws in this clause,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Contrary to a common belief, this was never put into place for Congress so that it may perform evil deeds. In fact, part of the clause itself prevents it from doing so in the first place with the definition of the word proper. However, this was either overlooked or was not perceived as the truth, and began many disagreements. Some as major as stating that the clause was put into place so that Congress has the power to do whatever it pleased, to those that are trivial in comparison. Namely James Madison s note that the United States national government is not truly a national one since its jurisdiction extends to certain enumerated objects only, and leaves to the several States a residuary and inviolable sovereignty over all other objects (Document E). Other arguments began over topics that came into existence because of the Necessary and Proper clause, e.g., the national bank. President Andrew Jackson disliked the national bank because it benefitted those who were already wealthy and did nothing for the poor (Document J). This and other reasons led the president to veto the renewal of the national bank in an attempt to limit the role of the national government, which influenced the depiction of him as a tyrant in document K. Even though it is the basis of many political altercations in the early United States, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
